A ghost who attempted to steal the soul of Apparetei Rakusho XVII in order to court him in the afterlife. In her previous life, Ochou ran a gambling den and fell in love with one of her regular patrons—the first in the Apparetei lineage. The two eventually tied the knot, but soon after, she fell ill and met her end. Despite promising to stay single for the rest of his life, her husband quickly took another woman to be his wife, and that despair drove Ochou into a state of limbo between life and death. Many years later, when Rakusho whispered affectionate words to her resting place by mere coincidence, she fell in love with him—perhaps by the power of his words, perhaps compelled by her own loneliness. When it came time for her to ascend to the afterlife, she was so touched by Rakusho's parting words that she ultimately chose to watch over him in the world of the living.
