The Astral of the pair that became the first lords of Hitakami Island. As a member of the team responsible for the development of the primal beast Elpis, Hippolytus had been drawn to the beauty of miracles brought on by the prayers, dreams, and ideals of skydwellers. Though it became clear with time that not all emotions of skydwellers are beautiful, Hippolytus was opposed to her brethren's idea of eradicating skydwellers entirely. Regardless of the despair she felt, she did not agree with the sentiment that skydwellers had no value in their existence and refused to participate in their slaughter. She took Elpis and ran away, but suffered heavy wounds from her pursuers. Upon drifting ashore at Hitakami Island, she was rescued by Achillea. Though her disdain toward skydwellers lingered, Hippolytus saw a change of heart after meeting Achillea, who possessed a pure affection for the islanders and skydwellers. Achillea became the only light in her world. Hippolytus's grudge against skydwellers remains even today, but through Achillea's love for them, she recognizes now that they are existences that must be protected.
