Lonesome Dragoness - Opening

A group of students at the Mysteria Academy of Magic uses forbidden shadow magic, soon after which an aberrational monster appears. When students go missing, the teachers ask Class President Hanna to help search.

A large stone pillar stands in the middle of a room.
Stone Pillar: ...
Around it a number of students scrawl out a geometric pattern.
Boy 1: There! We're finished!
Boy 2: Now all we need to do is let the magic flow.
Girl 1: Hey, uh, how about we get a teacher to help?
Girl 2: Yeah, we should get someone. This magic isn't anything we can handle alone.
Boy 1: This is the most forbidden kind of shadow magic. We can't just call a teacher.
Girl 1: But if we mess up, we're going to get in more trouble than you can imagine.
Boy 2: We're using the core monolith of amplification. There's no way to mess things up!
Girl 1: Well, but, uh...
Boy 1: If you're so afraid of messing up, then just leave.
Girl 2: ...
Boy 2: When this magic works, everyone's going to look up to us as the master mages we are.
Boy 2: Are you gonna throw away a chance like that? You'll never succeed without taking a risk or two.
Girl 1: ...
Girl 2: I'm in. I want everyone to look up to me.
Girl 1: Me too.
Boy 1: Yeah! Now c'mon, guys. Let all your magic flow in at once.
The other students nod and begin pouring their magic into the circle.
Boy 1: ...
Boy 1: Nothing's happening.
Girl 1: Huh? Did we mess up?
Boy 2: There is no way! I followed that grimoire to a T.
Boy 1: We might've forgotten something.
Oh crap! It's a guard. Anyway, I'm going home for today!
Boy 1: If we get caught, we're going to be in some serious hot water.
Girl 1: Yeah.
The students nod and scamper out of the room.
???: ...
Boy 1: Uh...
Girl 2: What's—what is that?
Boy 2: Is it alive? A monster?
???: ...
Girl 1: Aaaah!
???: Several students have gone missing?
???: Yes. It seems that they never returned to their dormitory last night.
???: Isn't there some way you might find them?
???: Yeah, come on, Hanna! Us teachers can't do it all by our selfies!
Hanna: Helping out during emergencies is one of my duties as class president. I'll form a search party.
Hanna: Please excuse me now. If there are any developments, I'll come let you know.
Hanna: I don't know why, but I have a bad feeling about this.
Saying this, the class president looks up at the sky with an uneasy expression on her face.
The sky may be clear, but the air is dead still. Something is afoot.

Lonesome Dragoness - Chapter 1: Mysteria Academy of Magic - Episode 1

Ms. Miranda guides the crew around the academy, and they learn about its gigantic core monoliths which stabilize and amplify magic. Ms. Miranda is called away on other business, and Hanna and William lead the tour in her place.

Io: Whoa, so this is the Mysteria Academy of Magic!
Vyrn: This is a school, huh? It sure is fancy!
Lyria: What a strange building. It's not like a castle or a mansion at all.
(Captain) and the others look around, enchanted by the unfamiliar sights.
The crew is visiting the Mysteria Academy of Magic at Io's behest.
Io: Hey, do you mind if...
Lyria: What is it, Io?
Io: There's something I want to ask.
Vyrn: Ask? Well, spit it out!
Io: We're on a course now, right? Well, it passes close to the famous island with the Mysteria Academy of Magic.
Vyrn: The Mysteria Academy of Magic?
Io: It's the most famous magic school in all of Phantagrande.
Io: Master says if you want to be a great mage, you should visit at least once.
  1. Let's drop by.
  2. What's the point?

Choose: Let's drop by.
Io: Yaaay! Thank you, (Captain).
Io: It'll be cool to meet all the crazy good mages there!

Choose: What's the point?
Io: First I want to see what it looks like inside. Master always said great stuff about it. I'm sure it's awesome!
Io: And, more than anything else, I want to be a master mage too.
Io: That's why I want to go!
The sparkle in Io's eyes convinces (Captain) to follow Io's suggestion and take a detour.
Io: Thanks, (Captain)!
Continue 1
Io: Okay! Let's get going then. To the Mysteria Academy of Magic!
???: Haha, you seem downright fascinated.
???: Teehee! You're such adorable little kiddies!
Lyria: Yes. It's my first time anywhere quite like this.
???: Haha! Then please take in all the sights on your tour.
Ms. Miranda: Let Ms. Miranda here show you every last corner of the academy!
Io: Thank you, Ms. Miranda! Mr. Bertrand!
Io: Everyone in this school studies magic every day, don't they? That's so cool!
Mr. Bertrand: Have you been studying magic independently, Io?
Io: No, my master's been teaching me. He's the Archduke of Valtz.
Mr. Bertrand: Oh, the Archduke of Valtz! Not many Draphs are proficient with magic, but he has a marked genius.
Mr. Bertrand: You have a good teacher indeed.
Ms. Miranda: You've totally gotta see the rest of the school! If it's your sort of thing, maybe even enroll!
Io: All right! Haha, I can't wait!
Ms. Miranda: Let's keep moving on. Next comes the quadrangle!
Ms. Miranda: This is the quad. It's where the Mysterian students come to relax.
Io: Whoa! There's a bunch of magic in the air, but it's so nice and peaceful.
Lyria: Um, Ms. Miranda. What's that big stone column?
Stone Pillar: ...
Lyria points to a large stone column situated in the middle of the quad.
Ms. Miranda: Ah! That's a monolith.
Vyrn: A monolith?
Io: They're things that make magic more stable or amplify it.
Io: I've never seen one this big in Valtz though.
Ms. Miranda: We call this a core monolith. It's custom-made.
Ms. Miranda: It's not just for one person—it makes all the magic in the school stable.
Mr. Bertrand: There are two core monoliths in the school. One is for stabilization, and the other is for amplification.
Mr. Bertrand: At our school those two monoliths can enable a single person to utilize the sort of large-scale magic that normally couldn't be handled alone.
Io: I didn't know that sort of thing existed.
Io: I should've known that Mysteria Academy would be on whole nother level!
???: Ms. Miranda! Mr. Bertrand!
The party members turn in the direction of the voice and see a young man and young woman running toward them.
Mr. Bertrand: Oh dear, if it isn't Hanna and William. Why are you in such a terrible rush?
Hanna: I need to talk with you about something. And who are those people?
Ms. Miranda: They're touring the school. Go on and say hello.
Hanna: Ah, my apologies! Welcome to the Mysteria Academy of Magic.
Hanna: My name is Hanna, and I serve as class president in this academy.
Hanna: If you have any questions or comments during your stay, please don't hesitate to relay them to me.
Lyria: Okay. Thank you very much, Hanna!
Mr. Bertrand: Haha! And now what's this pressing business of yours?
Hanna: Ah, yes, that's right! Could you come this way?
Hanna: I'm sorry for interrupting, everyone. Please wait just a moment.
Hanna, Mr. Bertrand, and Ms. Miranda step away from the group.
Io: Is something wrong?
Vyrn: Eh, who knows?
Monolith: ...
Vyrn: Say, do you think that I could use magic with the monolith?
Io: Monoliths don't let you use magic. They stabilize and amplify it.
Io: If you can't use magic to begin with, there's not much point.
Vyrn: Huh, I guess so. That's pretty complicated!
Lyria: Oh, Ms. Miranda and the others are back!
Mr. Bertrand: I'm sorry. We have a bit of an urgent matter to attend to, so we're going to return to the faculty lounge.
Vyrn: Hey! What about our tour!
Ms. Miranda: Don't worry your little heart. I asked Hanna and William to show you around the rest of the way.
Ms. Miranda: Do a good job showing these fine people around, okay?
Hanna: I will. You can count on me.
???: And me too!
Ms. Miranda and Mr. Bertrand rush off, leaving the two students to guide (Captain) and the others.
Hanna: We'll guide you around from here on.
William: I haven't introduced myself yet. My name's William, and it's great to meet you.
The crew members nod and introduce themselves to Hanna and William.
Hanna: Now shall we get going?
Following along behind Hanna and William, the crew members continue their tour.

Lonesome Dragoness - Chapter 1: Mysteria Academy of Magic - Episode 2

In the quadrangle the group comes across a monster, which soon goes on the rampage. Hanna guesses that it might be the product of students practicing shadow magic without a chaperone.

Hanna: Next we'll show you around the building over there.
Hanna's tour is interrupted by the roar of a monster echoing down the hall.
The crew members' eyes shoot in the direction of the sound. They see a tremendous monster seemingly poised to attack a student.
Vyrn: Huh! What's a monster doing here?
Lyria: We have to save that person!
Hanna: Don't worry about it.
Io: What are you saying? If we don't do anything, they're going to get hurt!
Hanna: That's a gargoyle.
Hanna: It's a monster created using a stone statue and shadow magic.
Hanna: That student's most likely just practicing shadow magic.
Io: Shadow magic? You're kidding! But that's so tough that—ohhh, it's because you have the core monoliths.
Hanna: Yes, the core monoliths make it so that even students who are just starting out can make use of that magic.
Hanna: But it's still an extreme challenge all the same.
William: That's why we're required to always have a teacher accompanying us when we do shadow magic.
William: So you don't need to worry at all.
Hanna: Mm-hm. It's just as William says.
Vyrn: Heh, I didn't know there was magic like that. I'd never heard of it!
Io: It's this super tough kind of magic, so hardly anyone can use it.
Lyria: Um, Hanna? William?
Hanna: What is it, Lyria?
Lyria: It looks like the other students are running toward us.
Hanna: Hm?
Boy 3: Run away! Run away!
Girl 3: Someone call a teacher! Hurry!
Girl 4: Eeeek!
The students run while shouting, and they flock around (Captain) and the others.
The monster follows behind the students and draws near the crew.
Hanna: Could they—could they have really used shadow magic without a teacher chaperone?
William: We—we've gotta call a teacher quick.
William: No, no, wait! Before that we have to run!
Hanna: William, please get ahold of yourself!
Vyrn: H-hey! What's going on here?
Hanna: That monster's going wild. The students are going to be injured!
Lyria: We'll stop it.
Lyria: If we don't, then all the students will be—
(Captain) nods in agreement.
Io: Mysterians, get ready to see my magic!

Lonesome Dragoness - Chapter 1: Mysteria Academy of Magic - Episode 3

The group follow the lonesome song of a piano to the music room, where they encounter a young woman playing. When the crew applauds, the young woman immediately stands up and leaves. Hanna explains that the girl's name is Grea and that she's curt toward people when meeting them for the first time.

Gargoyle: ...!
Io: That should do it.
The crew defeats the attacking monster without difficulty.
Hanna and William suddenly applaud.
Hanna: I wasn't expecting that! You're so strong!
William: Well, uh... I'm pretty confident in my magic, but when it comes to close combat...
Vyrn: Meh, we're skyfarers, so we're used to fighting monsters.
Hanna: What are a bunch of skyfarers doing in Mysteria anyway?
Io: My master says that if you want to be a real mage, you have to visit this school at least once.
Io: That's why I made (Captain) stop by here during our journey.
Hanna: I see. You're really one of a kind, aren't you, Io?
Boy 1: Uh, uh... Class President? We, uh...
Girl 2: ...
Girl 3: ...
Hanna: Oh, that's right. Before doing anything else, we have to do something about this situation.
Hanna surveys the room damaged by the rampaging monster, as well as the injured students.
Hanna: William, would you please call one of the teachers?
Hanna: I'll deal with this situation.
William: All right then. I'll see you later.
William then departs.
Hanna: I'm sorry, (Captain), but I have to put this place back into order.
Hanna: If you don't mind, please show yourselves around while I'm occupied.
Io: Hm? Can we just walk around by ourselves?
Hanna: I can't have you sticking around here. As class president, I give you my permission.
Hanna: But please don't go into any rooms that are marked off-limits.
  1. Okay.
  2. Off-limits?

Choose: Okay.
Hanna: Thank you.

Choose: Off-limits?
Hanna: Yes. The academy has rooms where forbidden grimoires and dangerous magical instruments are stored.
Hanna: Some of those rooms are off-limits for anyone other than faculty, staff, or specially authorized persons.
Hanna: Take care, if you would, not to enter.
Io: Okay! So stay out of rooms that are off-limits.
Hanna: Yes. And thank you.
Continue 1
Hanna: This is a map of the school. Please use it on your tour.
Hanna: Once things settle down for us, we'll meet up with you again.
Hanna leads the students away from (Captain) and the others.
Lyria: I hope she's okay.
Vyrn: Yeah, but she can't make a bunch of tour members clean up this sort of mess. The school wouldn't like that much.
Io: Well, now that we're here, we should keep looking around. I wanna see the library!
With the map in hand, (Captain) and the other members head toward the library at Io's request.
Io: Whoa! I can't believe that they have such unique spellbooks here!
Io: Leave it to the Mysteria Academy of Magic. This place is great!
Vyrn: Glad you like the books.
Vyrn: The librarians already got upset with you once.
Lyria: Ahaha, that's right! They told you to be quiet here.
Io: Uh, sorry. It's just that all the spellbooks are so unique.
Vyrn: So where do we go next?
Io: Yeah, next...
The crew members take another look at the map.
Io: Is that a piano?
A piano melody sounds through the hall. The group naturally turns its attention to the sound.
Lyria: That sounds so pretty.
Lyria: But... it seems sort of sad and lonely too.
Lyria: (Captain), can we go toward the sound?
Lyria: I want to get a better listen.
  1. Let's go.
  2. Isn't that out of our way?

Choose: Let's go.
Lyria: All right. Thank you very much!
Io: That music's really touching. I want to check it out. Let's go.

Choose: Isn't that out of our way?
Io: It's fine. I've already seen most of what I wanted to see.
Io: But anyway I want to hear the piano too.
Continue 2
Io: The map says that the music room's up ahead. It has to be coming from there!
(Captain) and the others open the door and step inside, where they see a young woman playing the piano.
They quietly take in the melody so as not to disturb her.
???: Sigh.
???: Huh?
Having listened through to the end of the song, (Captain) and the others applaud.
Lyria: That was such a beautiful performance. It sounded so sweet.
???: ...
The girl stands up silently, quickly bows to (Captain) and the others, and then leaves the music room.
Lyria: Huh? Um, uh...
Vyrn: Did we bother her?
  1. Let's apologize.

Choose: Let's apologize.
(Captain) and the others follow the girl.
Lyria: I'm—I'm sorry, listening without permission...
Lyria: We didn't mean to make you angry...
???: ...
The girl leaves down the hall almost as if to avoid (Captain).
Io: She's gone.
Lyria: Aw...
Vyrn: Eh, don't worry too much. All right, Lyria?
Lyria: All right.
Hanna: Ah, so this is where you are!
Io: Ah, Hanna. Are you done with what you were doing?
Hanna: Yes. Things are by and large under control now, so I've left William in charge.
Hanna: Is something wrong though? You all look a bit glum.
Lyria: Well, actually...
Lyria explains to Hanna about the crew's interaction with the young woman.
Hanna: I see. Well, that's Grea.
Lyria: Um, Hanna? Did I say something rude to Grea?
Hanna: Heavens no! Not at all.
Hanna: She's a complicated girl though. She can be a bit curt when she's meeting someone for the first time.
Hanna: I'm sure she's not angry.
Lyria: That's good to hear.
Lyria: Grea was playing such a sweet melody on her piano, but it felt sort of lonely.
Lyria: It was just really worrying me.
Lyria stares down the hallway where Grea fled.

Lonesome Dragoness - Chapter 1: Mysteria Academy of Magic - Episode 4

The sky turns red, and aberrations flood from the core monolith in the quadrangle. (Captain) and the others help Grea battle the aberrations, while Hanna calls on the students to evacuate.

Grea: What that girl said to me—
Lyria: That was such a beautiful performance. It sounded so sweet.
Grea: It almost reminds me of that one time.
???: Wow, that was such a sweet melody!
???: I want to hear some more. Can you play anything else?
???: It's so relaxing to listen to. You can tell how sweet the person playing it is.
Grea: Who were those people anyway? They weren't wearing school uniforms.
She suddenly hears the voices of girls having fun.
Girl's Voice 1: Hey, wanna go shopping together on our next break?
Girl's Voice 2: Sure. What do you want to buy?
Girl's Voice 1: Hm, well...
Grea: ...
Grea stares out at the quad, where other students are chatting joyfully.
She seems a bit lonely, a bit jealous.
Grea: It's so lonely without Anne here.
Grea: I never used to feel this way when I was alone.
Grea: Anne, you have to come back soon!
Grea: ...!
The school building suddenly shakes, and the sky turns red.
Grea: What's happening?
Io: Eeek!
Hanna: What is this! An earthquake? No, it's something else.
Vyrn: He-hey! The sky's turning red!
Vyrn: It's way too early for the sun to go down!
Hanna: What could be happening?
Io: What's that sound!
Lyria: Aaah! My ears!
The bewildered party hears screams from outside.
Boy's Voice: Aaah!
Girl's Voice 1: What! The monolith!
Girl's Voice 2: Help! Help!
Girl's Voice 2: Noooo!
William's Voice: Wha-wha-what's going on here?
William's Voice: Aaah!
Vyrn: Hey, those screams—there's really something wrong here!
Hanna: ...!
Lyria: Ah, wait, Hanna!
Hanna dashes into action the moment that she hears the students' screams.
Lyria: (Captain)! We have to follow Hanna!
(Captain) and the others agree and rush off in pursuit of Hanna.
Hanna: What is that thing supposed to be?
Core Monolith: ...
From the surface of the quad's core monolith there pour out a stream of aberrations.
Those aberrations attack student after student.
Boy 1: Stay away! Away! Aaaah!
Girl 2: No, stop!
Boy 2: Let me take this monster on! I'll smash it!
Girl 2: Okay!
Boy 2: Eat this!
The students fire their magic at the attacking aberrations.
The magic merely dissipates, however, when it touches the misty barriers that surround the aberrations.
Girl 2: You're kidding! The magic isn't working!
Boy 2: It just didn't hit them right.
Boy 2: That has to be it!
Boy 2: Hey, you guys help out too. We'll attack them all at once!
Again the students aim for the aberrations and release their magic.
No matter how many times it hits, however, it dissipates.
Boy 2: How come? Our magic really isn't working!
Girl 1: We better run!
Girl 2: What do we do? If this goes on—
The magical attacks have no effect. Some people stare in shock while others panic.
Hanna: Everyone, please calm down!
Boy 2: Class President?
Girl 2: Class President!
Hanna: Everyone, gather into small groups. If we stay apart, they'll pick us off one by one!
Hanna: We have to look after each other. That's how we'll stay safe!
Hanna: Once you're in groups, head for the classroom building. There's an emergency barrier there.
Hanna: You'll be safe inside. Stay calm and stick together.
The students nod in agreement with Hanna, form small groups, and then evacuate.
Hanna: Okay, (Captain)! Hurry to the classroom building together with that group.
  1. We'll draw the enemies out.
  2. We'll help evacuate.

Choose: We'll draw the enemies out.
Io: Yeah, that's the best way. Hanna can evacuate the students then.
Hanna: What are you saying? I can't let visitors to do something so dangerous.

Choose: We'll help evacuate.
Hanna: I can't ask visitors to do something so dangerous.
Continue 1
Vyrn: But we can't just stand by and watch when all this is going on.
Lyria: No, we can't. It doesn't matter whether we're visitors or not now.
Io: We have to do whatever we can. The most important thing now is to save people.
Hanna: I normally wouldn't be able to accept such generosity, but I'm afraid I have no choice.
Hanna faces (Captain) and bows her head deeply.
To save the students, (Captain) and the others are defeating aberrations that appear from the core monolith.
Io: Aaah, that's enough! What are these things anyway? Magic hardly works on them at all.
Core Monolith: ...
Io: And they just keep on coming!
Girl 3: Wait, everyone! Don't leave me!
Lyria: (Captain)! There's someone who couldn't get away over there!
Lyria points to a girl who is about to be attacked by aberrations at any moment.
Girl 3: Aaah!
Girl 3: No, don't come any closer!
An aberration reaches out its monstrous arm toward the student screaming in anguish.
Io: No! There's no time!
Girl 3: Eeeek!
???: ...!
Leaping into the fray at that instant is Grea.
Grea's attack erases any trace of the aberrations.
Lyria: Whoa.
Io: Really? She got rid of them with a single attack?
The crew members are stunned at Grea's power.
Core Monolith: ...
Vyrn: Huh? There are still so many!
Lyria: Let's go help, (Captain)! If we don't, then Grea and the others will—
(Captain) nods in agreement, and the party runs toward Grea.
Aberrations: ...
Girl 3: Whoooa!
Grea: If magic won't work, then I might have to use that power. But—
Io: I've got you!
Grea: Huh?
Lyria: Are you okay? Are you hurt?
Grea: You. You're those—
Io: We'll talk later. Right now we need to beat these things!
Grea: Uh-huh.

Lonesome Dragoness - Chapter 2: Academy in Shambles - Episode 1

(Captain), Grea, and the others slowly begin to be overwhelmed by the flood of aberrations, so Hanna orders a retreat to the classroom building. After regrouping there, the party members decide they need more information and set out again.

(Captain) and the crew have saved Grea and the others.
Vyrn: Holy moly! How many of these are there?
Core Monolith: ...
Appearing one after another, the aberrations turn into a horde that begins overwhelming the party.
Io: Now what? We can't take on this many by ourselves!
Hanna: Everyone to the classroom building! Retreat!
Lyria: Hanna!
Lyria: But there are still some people trapped!
Hanna: I can't allow us to lose any more people. We have no choice to be retreat!
Wearing a deeply troubled expression, (Captain) and the others nod in agreement with Hanna.
Grea: ...
Hanna: This way! Hurry inside!
Following Hanna's instructions, (Captain) and the others manage to escape into the classroom building.
Hanna: Huff, huff... We should be safe for a while here in the classroom building.
Hanna: This building contains a special barrier that can be deployed in emergencies.
Io: Whew, we should be able to rest for a bit then.
Io: What are those things though?
Io: Magic doesn't work on them, and there are a million of them.
Io: And why are so many coming from the core monolith anyway?
Hanna: I don't know. It's hard to tell what's what.
Io: Yeah...
Hanna: Please continue to rest here, everyone.
Hanna stands up to leave.
Io: Whoa, Hanna. Where are you off to?
Hanna: I'm going to check things outside.
Vyrn: Hold on! Isn't it too dangerous to go out there? We just got someplace safe.
Hanna: I'm perfectly aware of the danger.
Hanna: We need any information that we can get about this incomprehensible situation. If I don't act—
Grea: No, Class President...
Hanna: Grea.
Grea: If you're gone, everyone's going to worry. There aren't any teachers here anyway.
Grea: So you can't go out.
Hanna: But we can't just leave things this way either.
  1. I'll handle this.

Choose: I'll handle this.
Hanna: As much as I appreciate the sentiment, I can't allow that.
Io: Why?
Hanna: You've already helped evacuate the students, and I can't force a role that's even more dangerous onto you.
Hanna: That would be much too presumptuous.
Hanna: So I'm going to go.
Lyria: Don't worry about it. And, besides, it's like Grea says.
Lyria: If you go away, no one will be sure what to do when something happens.
Io: Yeah! And we should just barely be able to handle those monsters.
Hanna: I still have to say no.
Vyrn: You sure are stubborn! What's your deal?
Hanna: Here in the Mysteria Academy, there are rooms that only students, staff, and faculty can enter. Think of those places like medicine storage rooms.
Hanna: If the students were to run into there, you wouldn't be able to get in to investigate.
Hanna: So you aren't exactly the right people for the job.
Lyria: We can't just let you go alone, though, Hanna.
Hanna: ...
Hanna: What do you say to this then? I'll follow along with you, (Captain).
Hanna: That would solve that issue.
Grea: You can't leave, Class President.
Hanna: However—
Grea: Then I'll go in your place. That should be fine, right?
Hanna: Are you sure about that?
Grea: Yeah. I have to make sure that Anne has a place to come back to.
Hanna: All right then.
Hanna: I apologize for the constant changes, but you're in charge of leading (Captain) and the others now, Grea.
Hanna: I'll organize the students in the meantime.
Grea: Okay. Thank you.
Vyrn: That oughta work better.
Grea: That's right. I haven't said my name yet, have I? I'm Grea. Good to meet you.
Lyria: Yeah! It's good to meet you, Grea! My name is Lyria!
Io: I'm Io. Good to meet you, Grea.
Vyrn: I'm Vyrn, and this here's (Captain)!
Grea: Um... thanks for saving us earlier.
Grea: If you didn't, we'd probably be—
Vyrn: Hey, don't sweat it!
Lyria: Yeah. If you and the class president are okay, then that's enough.
Grea: ...
(Captain) suddenly notices Grea's tail and the wings on her back.
Grea: Oh. Caught your eye, huh?
  1. Your wings...
  2. Your tail...

Choose: Your wings...
Choose: Your tail...
Grea: I'm half dragon... Creepy, isn't it?
Lyria: No, it's nothing! We've already met all kinds of people.
Lyria: Besides, your wings and your tail are cute.
Grea: Huh! Cute?
Vyrn: Haha! Come to think of it, we're twins, aren't we? It's my lucky day!
Io: Twins? I guess, but...
Io: Half dragon, huh? I've never heard of anyone like you before, but you're really pretty.
Grea: Really?
Grea: Ah! That's right. I have to apologize too.
Grea: I'm sorry for leaving the music room without saying anything.
Grea: You just started talking to me out of nowhere... so I got surprised and...
Lyria: No, no! That's a relief!
Grea: Huh? A relief?
Lyria: To be honest, I was worried that you were angry at us.
Grea: I'm sorry.
Lyria: Don't worry!
Lyria: I'm sure we startled you when we started talking to you out of nowhere.
Io: Well, nice to clear up that misunderstanding. We should get going now.
Lyria: Okay!
Grea: All right.

Lonesome Dragoness - Chapter 2: Academy in Shambles - Episode 2

Returning to the now-ravaged music room, the group finds a monster that's about to attack a student. Spurred on by rage about the state of the music room, Grea unleashes her dragon power.

(Captain) and company search the school building, alert for aberrations.
But all is calm.
Lyria: The monsters from earlier are gone.
Io: Where could they be? They were crawling all over just a little bit ago.
Vyrn: Hey, Grea! Is there anywhere that many monsters could hide?
Grea: No. There shouldn't be anywhere like that.
The countless aberrations from earlier have disappeared to somewhere else.
Grea: Let's keep moving for now. Next we go toward the music room.
Vyrn: All righty!
Grea: ...
Lyria: Um, Grea? Can we walk as a group? You're staying pretty far away.
Io: Yeah. We should walk closer. It's dangerous to get too far apart.
Grea: Huh? Is that okay?
Io: Okay? Is what okay?
Grea: ...
Grea: Can I ask you something?
Lyria: What is it?
Grea: Aren't you scared of me?
Lyria: Hm? Scared?
Grea: I'm different from normal people.
Grea touches her tail.
Io: You mean you were worried about that?
Lyria: I know I already said this, but I think it's cute. It's like you're Vyrn's big sister.
Io: I'm not sure if that's a compliment.
Vyrn: Hey, you! Of course it's a compliment!
Grea: ...
Grea: Hm... Teehee...
Lyria: Ah! Grea laughed!
Grea: Sorry. I guess I was worrying too much.
Io: Yeah! We're traveling, so we can't be too worried about people's roots or how anyone looks.
Lyria: Yeah. And you just seem like a normal girl to me.
Grea: Mm. I'm sorry. Thanks.
Grea: Someone I care about said the same thing to me. It was a surprise to hear.
Lyria: Someone you care about?
Girl 8: Eeeek!
Vyrn: That scream! Did it come from up ahead?
Grea: That's where the music room is! Let's go!
Lyria: Okay!
Grea: ...!
In the music room are a fallen student and an aberration.
The aberration slowly begins to clutch the fallen student.
Vyrn: This is bad! If we don't save her, then—
Grea gazes at the aberration's aftermath, and she speaks under her breath.
Grea: That's it. You've gone too far.
Vyrn: Whoa!
An overwhelming power suddenly flows from Grea's body. It almost seems to be a manifestation of her rage.
Io: What! What is this energy?
Lyria: Mm... My body is vibrating...
In the face of the overwhelming force, the monster and the crew members all freeze in place.
Vyrn: I... I know what this is. It's her dragon power.
Grea: This place—this music room—it means so much to Anne and me!
Grea: Haaaah!
As she grows angrier, Grea's power also seems to grow.
The power turns to shockwaves that tear across the surroundings.
Lyria: Grea! Please calm down!
Io: Yeah. You're going to destroy the whole building not just the monsters!
Grea: ...!
Io's words bring Grea back to normal and, seemingly at the same time, her torrent of frenzied power dissipates.
Grea: I...
Io: We'll talk later. For now, let's take care of them!
Grea: Okay!

Lonesome Dragoness - Chapter 2: Academy in Shambles - Episode 3

The crew investigates a monolith that seems to be placed unnaturally in the corridor. The crew destroys it, and William emerges from within.

Grea: Uh... I'm sorry about that. The way I acted had to have bothered you.
Grea bows her head deeply to (Captain) and the others.
Lyria: Oh no. Please lift up your head, Grea.
Vyrn: Yeah. We don't mind a bit!
Grea: But—
Io: This music room really matters to you, doesn't it, Grea?
Grea: Yeah.
Her eyes filled with sadness, Grea scans the ravaged room.
Io: It's normal to get angry when something makes a mess of a place like that. You don't need to worry.
Grea: Thanks.
Vyrn: For now, let's go back to where the class president is.
Vyrn: We've been almost everywhere now.
Vyrn: Also we have to take this student to the evacuation spot.
Vyrn looks at the unconscious student.
Grea: Yeah, let's go back to where Hanna is.
Vyrn: Well, we didn't end up finding anything out.
Io: Yeah, and we still don't know where they went.
Lyria: Ah...
Io: What is it, Lyria? You just stopped all of a sudden.
Lyria: Um, it's nothing really. There's just a big monolith over there and—
Grea: Huh?
Lyria points to a large monolith located at the end of a hall.
Vyrn: Is that the same as the monolith in the quad?
Io: Yeah. That means this must be the core monolith of amplification.
Grea: No, that can't be right. The core monolith of amplification is supposed to be in the clock tower.
Lyria: Huh? But Ms. Miranda said that there were only two big monoliths.
Grea: Yeah. There's the stabilization one, and there's the amplification one.
Vyrn: Then what's this monolith?
Grea: ...
  1. Let's check it out.
  2. Let's let Hanna know first.

Choose: Let's check it out.
Io: I'm with (Captain).
Io: It could have something to do with those monsters. We might be able to find something out.
Vyrn: You've got a point there. And the class president said she wanted information.
Grea: Yeah. And I'm curious anyway.
Io: Let's go then!

Choose: Let's let Hanna know first.
Lyria: That's right. Hanna might know something about it.
Io: Wait!
Lyria: Io?
Io: If we wait until those things appear, it'll be too late.
Io: There aren't any of them here now, so that means it's our chance to check it out.
Vyrn: You've got a point there. And the class president said she wanted information.
Grea: I think it could definitely be worth checking out.
(Captain) nods as if to agree.
Io: Thanks, (Captain).
Io: Let's go then!
Continue 1
(Captain) and the other members investigate the monolith at the end of the hall.
Io: This monolith... What is it supposed to be? It feels weird.
Grea: Yeah. I can't say exactly what, but there's something weird about it.
Vyrn: Well, that sure explains a lot...
Io: Some feelings you can't put into words. A lizard wouldn't understand.
Vyrn: What!
Grea: That sound! It's the same as earlier!
Lyria: Ah, my ears are ringing!
Vyrn: Whoa! The monolith's glowing all of a sudden!
Grea: Huh!
The monolith's light slowly pulsates.
And at the same time, a black, mist-like substance begins rising from the surface of the monolith.
Grea: That black mist is what those things had on their bodies.
Io: Do you mean those things are going to start coming out again?
Lyria: What do we do, (Captain)?
  1. Get down!

Choose: Get down!
(Captain) attacks the monolith with a weapon.
Lyria: Eeeek!
The light from the monolith dims, as does the pulsation. The black mist similarly vanishes.
William: ...
Vyrn: What!
Lyria: William!
William's body is flung out from the solid surface of the monolith as if he were jumping out of water.
Lyria: Why did William come out of the monolith?
Grea: Do you know him?
Lyria: Yes. He was showing us around together with Hanna.
Vyrn: There was a little incident in the quad, and we went our separate ways after that.
Grea: The quad? So you were there when all those monsters appeared?
Io: Yeah.
Vyrn: That scream we heard when the monsters popped out of the core monolith—I'll bet it was this guy.
Io: Now that you mention it—
Grea: Wait! Do you mean that William was caught by monsters?
Vyrn: We don't know that much.
Grea: But even if. Even if he was caught by the monsters, then why would he be inside the monolith of all places?
Vyrn: Maybe he got caught and turned into a monolith. It's not that much of a stretch.
(Captain) and the rest of the members begin to feel an unspeakable unease at Vyrn's casual remark.

Lonesome Dragoness - Chapter 2: Academy in Shambles - Episode 4

(Captain) and the others guess that students are trapped inside the monoliths and set about destroying them. They borrow Grea's power to destroy a core monolith, after which the aberrations suddenly vanish.

Some of the captured students may have been turned into monoliths.
In order to ascertain what's happened, (Captain) and the others locate other monoliths and destroy them in the same way.
Monolith: ...
Vyrn: Hey! There's a person inside this monolith!
Monolith: ...
Io: This one too!
Monolith: ...
Grea: And this one too!
Io: Does this mean that the captured people really did turn into monoliths?
Grea: Yeah. There's no mistake.
Lyria: What do you want to do then, (Captain)?
  1. Find monoliths and help trapped people.
  2. Lead rescued people to safety.

Choose: Find monoliths and help trapped people.
Lyria: That's right. We have to save every last person we can.
Grea: Wait! We have to lead the people that we saved to the classroom building before we go breaking monoliths.
Io: I'm with Grea. It's going to be tough to battle those enemies and also protect this many students.
Io: We've already rescued a lot of people as it is.
Grea: Yeah, Io's right.
Grea: When you consider how many people were captured, there have to be a lot more monoliths.
Grea: It'll take too long for us to destroy the monoliths on our own.
Grea: I'll talk with the class president and get her to help out.

Choose: Lead rescued people to safety.
Grea: Yeah, you're right. I think so too.
Grea: We should avoid trying to watch over the people we saved and fighting the monsters at the same time.
Io: You're right.
Vyrn: Yep. Once one of those things appears, a whole ton of them appear.
Grea: When you consider how many people were captured, there have to be a lot more monoliths.
Grea: I'll talk with Hanna and get her to help out.
Lyria: Yeah!
Continue 1
Vyrn: Well then, let's bring the people we rescued to the classroom building.
Io: That noise! It's those—
Suddenly it sounds as if the sky itself is being rended. As if reacting to the sound, the monoliths nearby begin pulsating.
Vyrn: Whoa, whoa! Is this—
Io: When that noise sounds, the monsters come from the monolith, right?
Grea: There'll be time to think later. We have to get away from here now!
(Captain) and the others begin running to the classroom building at Grea's command.
Lyria: Oh no! There are so many!
Grea: This way! Hurry!
Io: They're over here too!
Grea: This way!
(Captain) and the other crew members flee from the countless aberrations that emerge from the stone.
No matter how far they run, aberrations lie in wait. They begin to overwhelm the crew.
Lyria: Huff... huff...
Grea: You've got this, Lyria! We're almost to the classroom building!
Lyria: A-all right!
Vyrn: Hey, this way. There aren't any of them here!
Vyrn: Hey, Pianista! Where to now?
Grea: Next is—
Lyria: Huff... huff... (Captain)! There are enemies coming from that way!
Io: And this way too!
Core Monolith: ...
(Captain), the crew, and the quad's core monolith are surrounded by a horde of aberrations.
Lyria: Now... now what, (Captain)?
Again there sounds a noise like the rending of the sky.
As if responding to the noise, the core monolith behind (Captain) and the others begins pulsating.
Vyrn: Darn it! They're doubling up!
Io: Stand back! I'll break the core monolith before any more appear!
As she says this, Io fires magic at the core monolith.
Her magic is blocked by the barrier that stands in front of the core monolith.
Io: You're kidding!
Lyria: ...!
Lyria instinctually senses danger and concentrates to summon a primal beast.
But as if to stop her, the black mist emanating from the core monolith attacks Lyria.
Lyria: ...!
Grea: No!
In that moment, Grea's right arm glows with golden light and lets loose an intense flame.
The spear-like flame dispels the mist shrouding Lyria and pierces the core monolith behind them.
Vyrn: You did it!
The core monolith crumbles from Grea's attack.
Aberrations: ...!
As if triggered by the destruction of the monolith, the aberrations turn to smoke and vanish.
Io: Huh? They just disappeared?
Vyrn: What is going on here?
No sooner is the core monolith destroyed than the aberrations simply vanish—the same aberrations that had been presenting such a challenge to the crew.
(Captain) and the others stand speechless.

Lonesome Dragoness - Chapter 3: Dragoness in Shambles - Episode 1

(Captain) and the others return to the classroom, where Hanna reports that monoliths have appeared in the town. The other students criticize Grea for not using her power sooner, and upon hearing them, Grea leaves the room.

The aberrations vanish when the core monolith is destroyed.
(Captain) and company are stunned at the way in which they were able to save themselves.
Lyria: Are we safe?
Vyrn: Uh-huh...
Grea: We should go back to the classroom building for now. We have to care for the people we rescued.
Io: Yeah. There will be time to think through all this stuff later.
(Captain) and the others nod in agreement and then head toward the classroom building.
When (Captain) and the others enter the classroom building, it seems more crowded than before.
Vyrn: Is it just me, or are there more people here?
Io: Those are people from the town, aren't they? Why are—why are there townspeople here?
Lyria: I'm not sure. But I have a bad feeling about this.
Grea: Let's go see Class President Hanna first. We should be able to find out what's happening that way.
Vyrn: Okay.
Vyrn: But before that, we should let the students we rescued take a little break.
Grea: Ah, yeah. That's right.
(Captain) and the others attend to the students they rescued and then begin to search for Hanna.
Grea: Class President!
Hanna: Grea! Everyone! You're safe!
Grea: Yeah. We all managed to get away okay. But why are all these people from town here anyway?
Hanna: That—
Grea: Did something happen in town?
Hanna: Yes. Yes. For some reason there were monoliths all over town.
Vyrn: You gotta be kidding!
Hanna: No, this is no time for jokes. The horde of monsters from the monoliths laid waste to the town.
Hanna: Fortunately, a number of teachers were in town, so it wasn't completely annihilated.
Grea: Wait a sec! Annihilated?
Hanna: The only townspeople who were accounted for are the ones here. All of the others are most likely—
Vyrn: What!
Lyria: But...
Hanna: We're all alone now. It's not possible to call anyone outside for support.
(Captain) and the others are flummoxed when they hear the scale of destruction from Hanna.
Ms. Miranda: We're back!
Ms. Miranda: Well, tickle me pink! If it's not (Captain) and the gang!
Lyria: Mr. Bertrand and Ms. Miranda?
Mr. Bertrand: Haha, it's a relief to see that you're well.
Ms. Miranda: It sure is. We were worried the whole time.
Ms. Miranda: You'd better not worry me anymore, kiddos.
Vyrn: You teachers were okay!
Mr. Bertrand: Yes, we're well. Somehow this old body of mine held out. Haha!
Hanna: Welcome back. How was the investigation in town?
Ms. Miranda: Hoo-boy! Things sure aren't looking good!
Mr. Bertrand: Though we're not sure of why, there were many monoliths identical to those on campus.
Hanna: Monoliths?
Mr. Bertrand: Yes.
Grea: I'd actually like to talk to you about that.
Grea explains that the captured people seem to have been turned into monoliths.
And that when the core monolith was destroyed, the aberrations disappeared.
Hanna: People turning into monoliths? But that's—
Ms. Miranda: Oooh, I getcha!
Ms. Miranda: That means that the monsters are using the core monoliths to enter our world.
Ms. Miranda: Those other monoliths are probably teleporty things between each other then.
Mr. Bertrand: Haha, yes, that's correct.
Mr. Bertrand: We should surmise the people inside the monoliths were used as intermediaries when the monoliths were created.
Ms. Miranda: Yepper. And the monsters are probably slurping down the magic of the people inside.
Mr. Bertrand: Hm... But then we would have to assume that someone made use of shadow magic—
Mr. Bertrand: No, forbidden shadow magic, and we're now seeing the results.
Ms. Miranda: I sure don't wanna think about that, but you're probably just about right there.
Mr. Bertrand: Humph. But in that case, there is a way to respond to this all.
Ms. Miranda: You got it! We'll find a way out of this pickle!
Ms. Miranda: Teehee, we know so much thanks to you, (Captain). I'm, like, so grateful!
Lyria: Um, what do you mean? I don't understand at all.
Mr. Bertrand: The simple explanation is that the core monoliths are serving as a door between those monsters' world and ours.
Mr. Bertrand: One can conjecture that unless that door is destroyed, countless monsters will appear from that world.
Mr. Bertrand: The smaller monoliths—the ones with people inside—are likely gates that allow those monsters to teleport from one another within our world.
Mr. Bertrand: So long as there are monoliths, the monsters will be able to use them to teleport instantly.
Mr. Bertrand: In regard to the monsters disappearing after the core monolith was destroyed—
Mr. Bertrand: The core monoliths must have served as base stations, while the human-based monoliths served as nodes.
Mr. Bertrand: If those monsters have been using the power of the core monoliths to appear in our world, that would explain a number of phenomena.
Vyrn: So what you're saying is if we bust all the core ones, everything will be okay?
Ms. Miranda: Right-a-rooney! That's more or less it, isn't it, Mr. Bertrand?
Mr. Bertrand: In all probability. It's unclear whether everything will be solved, but it's certain that we'll reduce their ability to fight.
Vyrn: Oh, okay! We already broke the one in the quad. That means what's left is the—
Hanna: The core monolith of amplification in the clock tower.
Io: Then the next thing we need to think about is how to destroy the core monolith.
Vyrn: We really oughta borrow that crazy power of Pianista there again.
Grea: Yeah, I'll help out!
The students burst into a commotion when they hear those words.
Each student's eyes seem to be filled with a different emotion, but they all come to rest on Grea.
Boy 1: They make core monoliths out of special minerals that cancel physical and magical attacks.
Boy 2: Dragon power is as wild as they say, isn't it?
Girl 1: If she would've just tried in the first place, things wouldn't be like this now.
Girl 2: Yeah, if she used her power from the start, none of this would have—
Grea: ...!
Vyrn: What is it?
Grea: ...
Grea lowers her head and runs out of the classroom in silence.
Lyria: Grea!
Io: You guys! Why did you do that?
Hanna: How could you all be so selfish?
Hanna: Your woulda, coulda, shouldas won't do a thing to fix this situation.
Hanna: What we need now isn't a bunch of head-in-the-clouds talk. It's a way to overcome this situation. Do you not agree!
The students fall silent as Hanna's angry voice reverberates through the classroom.
Lyria: Um, I'll go look for Grea.
Vyrn: Hey, wait up, Lyria. I'm going with you!
Io: And me too!
Hanna: It might not be my place to ask you this, but please take good care of Grea.
Mr. Bertrand: If the expression on Grea's face when she was chatting with you skyfarers is any indication, it seems like she's found a good group of friends.
Mr. Bertrand: Please take care of yourselves.
The crew members nod in agreement with the class president and teacher, and they then leave the classroom.
They set foot from the school building, which now seems not half as lively as earlier.

Lonesome Dragoness - Chapter 3: Dragoness in Shambles - Episode 2

Lyria encourages Grea by revealing the story behind her own powers. Lyria's determination reminds Grea of a precious friend, and Grea's confidence returns.

Grea: So I'll have to use my power. But even if do use my power, then—
Soldier 1: You monster!
Soldier 2: It hurts! It hurts! Please stop it!
Soldier 3: Eeeek! Stay away! Stay away, you monster!
Woman 1: I always knew she wasn't a human.
Woman 2: Did you hear? She went crazy and half killed a bunch of soldiers.
Woman 3: I heard that. I did. She's so frightening!
Woman 2: It has to be that dragon blood of hers. That violence is just a part of who they are.
Woman 4: I'm sorry, but it's too scary to be around you. Don't bother me anymore.
Woman 5: No, I don't want to be your friend. I mean, you're not even human.
Grea: I've had enough. Enough of people talking to me like that. Enough of people looking at me like that.
Grea: But if I use this power, then I can—
Grea: What should I do, Anne?
Lyria: Huff, huff... I found Grea!
Grea: Huh? Lyria? How come you're here?
Lyria: I was looking for you.
Lyria: I wanted to talk with you about something for a bit.
Grea: With me?
Lyria: Yeah. I thought that maybe I could give you some sort of advice.
Grea: Why? Why are you so worried about me?
Lyria: I can't just ignore you.
Lyria: You remind me of how I used to be.
Grea: Huh? What are you trying to say?
Lyria: Grea, would you tell me about yourself? If you don't mind, that is.
Lyria: I want to help you.
Lyria: In the same way that (Captain) helped me.
Grea: ...
Lyria looks directly into Grea's eyes.
Grea: You have honest eyes like Anne.
Lyria: Grea?
Grea: It's nothing. But I really don't think it's going to be fun for you.
Grea: Is that okay?
Lyria: Yes!
Grea: All right. I'll tell you just a little then.
Lyria: Thank you!
Grea: Lyria, what did you think when I showed you my dragon power?
Lyria: Well, um... It just seemed super strong.
Lyria: You broke the core monolith with just one hit. And those misty enemies too.
Grea: What would you think if I told you that I was still holding back then?
Lyria: What?
Grea: My dragon power is really strong. A lot stronger than anyone else knows.
Grea: But it's not just strong. It also has special properties.
Lyria: Special properties?
Grea: Yeah. It can cancel magic and destroy it.
Grea: If I use that power, I can damage almost anything. Not even strong metal or defensive magic can stop it.
Grea: A long time ago, I couldn't control my dragon power, and I went wild.
Lyria: ...
Grea: I broke lots of things, and I hurt lots of people.
Grea: I managed to regain control of myself after that.
Grea: But the way that everyone looked at me had already changed.
Grea: They looked at me like I was some kind of monster. No, they straight up called me one.
Lyria: Grea...
Grea: That's why I hate this power. And these claws and these wings and this tail.
Lyria: ...
Grea: I never want anyone to look at me like that again. I want to live a normal life. But that's not going to happen, because I'm not a human.
Grea: That's why I try to stay away from people as much as I can.
Grea: That way I won't get hurt, and no one will hate me.
Grea: I really shouldn't even be in Mysteria to begin with.
Lyria: You said that there's someone you care about, didn't you?
Grea: ...
Lyria: Teehee! You're really a nice person, Grea!
Grea: Huh?
Lyria: You don't want to use your power because it could hurt someone.
Lyria: You don't want to hurt people, so you stay away from them, and you put up with the loneliness.
Lyria: That means that you're a sweet girl, doesn't it, Grea?
???: I knew it. You don't have a cold heart after all.
???: You don't want to hurt anyone. And the loneliness hurt you so much, but you still stayed away from other people. You're such a sweet girl.
Grea: ...
Lyria: I kind of know how you feel.
Grea: Lyria?
Lyria: I have a power that's different from other people too.
Lyria unleashes her power and summons a primal beast.
Grea: ...!
Lyria: This is my power. I can control primal beasts.
Grea: ...
Lyria: The empire captured me because of that.
Lyria: People there always looked at me like those kids looked at you.
Lyria: A lot happened after that, and I got away from the empire.
Lyria: But there was an accident during my escape, and I hurt someone who really mattered to me—(Captain).
Lyria: So I kind of know how you feel, Grea.
Grea: Oh, I see.
Grea: Can I ask you something, Lyria?
Lyria: What is it?
Grea: Aren't you scared to use that power, Lyria?
Grea: Even though people might look at you weird. And people you care about might get scared of you.
Lyria: I'd be lying if I said it wasn't a bit scary.
Lyria: But I'd like it even less to see people I care about get hurt.
Grea: ...!
Lyria: That's why I use this power. So that I don't have to regret. And to protect the people I care about.
Grea: So it's because you don't want to see them get hurt.
Grea: Yeah. That makes sense. I want to protect someone I care about too.
Grea: Haha. It's weird. When I'm talking with you, it feels like I'm talking with Anne.
Lyria: Anne? Is she the one you want to protect?
Grea: Yeah. She's a friend I really care about. She's such a good person, and she's nice to everyone.
Grea: She can't ignore someone in need. She'll totally put herself in harm's way to help other people.
Grea: That's Anne.
Lyria: Uh, am I really like that?
Grea: Yeah, your personality's totally different, but you're the same where it counts.
Io: Gee, we were looking all over for you!
Vyrn: You really worried (Captain), running ahead like that.
Lyria: (Captain)? And Vyrn and Io?
Lyria: Ah, I'm sorry! I found Grea, and I didn't even—
Grea: Io, were you guys—
Lyria: Yeah, we were all searching for you.
Grea: Oh... I'm really sorry for worrying you.
Vyrn: No biggie. So is everything okay now?
Grea: Yeah. Lyria gave me a nice push.
Io: Teehee! Everything looks okay then. That's good to hear!
Vyrn: Ah, that's a relief.
(Captain) similarly nods in a show of relief.
Io: Let's get back to the classroom. I think the class president was calling us.
Grea: Hanna?
Vyrn: Yeah. She really wants to talk about what happens after this.
Grea: Anne. I don't want to see you get hurt.
Grea: That's why...
Feeling a new sense of determination, Grea heads back toward Hanna.

Lonesome Dragoness - Chapter 3: Dragoness in Shambles - Episode 3

Hanna suggests that the group break the monoliths in which people are trapped. Grea, however, announces that she's going to destroy the other core monolith, and the crew follows her to the clock tower to give support.

(Captain) and the others bring Grea back to the classroom.
William: Hanna, it looks like they're back.
Hanna: You're all here. It's good to see that you are okay, Grea.
Grea: I'm sorry, Class President. Running out on my own like that...
Hanna: Don't worry about it. You haven't done a thing wrong anyway.
Hanna: But if you're not feeling well—
Grea: I'm fine. Thanks for worrying about me.
Hanna: All right then.
Lyria: Ah, William! You're awake!
William: Yeah. Hanna told me everything about what happened.
William: She said you saved me. Thank you so much.
Lyria: No need for that. We're just glad you're okay!
Grea: I heard that you wanted to talk about what to do from here on out, Class President.
Hanna: Yes, that's right.
Hanna: I'd like to go around and destroy the monoliths with all the students and teachers who are left.
Hanna: That way we'll be able to save students and limit where the monsters can appear.
Ms. Miranda: That'll kill two birdies with one stone! Banzai!
Mr. Bertrand: Haha! It's a simple method, but it's also the most efficient.
Grea: Class President, could you go ahead and destroy the monoliths without me?
Hanna: Huh?
Grea: I'll destroy the core monolith in the clock tower.
Grea: I'll use my dragon power to destroy it. That will be the most efficient way.
Hanna: Are you sure you don't mind, Grea?
Grea: Yeah. Lyria helped me to be sure.
Grea: I don't want to see what I care about—no, who I care about—be hurt.
Grea: So I'm going to use this power. I'll protect this school while Anne's gone.
Hanna: All right then. I wish you the best.
Hanna: It seems that only you can destroy a core monolith at any rate.
Grea: Yeah.
Hanna: (Captain), I hate to constantly ask favors of you.
Hanna: But would you please accompany Grea to the clock tower?
Hanna: Watch after Grea until she destroys the core monolith.
Hanna: There's no one who can do that but you, (Captain).
Vyrn: Ooh!
The crew and (Captain) give a firm nod.
Grea: Are you sure that's okay? You need (Captain), don't you, Class President?
Hanna: If it comes down to it, we can handle things here ourselves.
Hanna: There's no need for worry.
William: It's just like Hanna says. We'll show you what we can do on our own.
Hanna: You, on the other hand, are still recovering. Don't push your luck.
William: Ahahaha!
William: I'm fine. I wasn't expecting a sneak attack, but I won't let the same thing happen again.
Hanna: Everyone. Grea.
Hanna: The future of Mysteria is in your hands.
Hanna: Please take good care of it.
Hanna bows her head deeply at (Captain) and the others.
Grea: I'll get this. Watch me protect you no matter what.
Hanna's words strengthen the resolve of (Captain) and the others.
The party then moves to destroy the core monolith, the cause of everything.

Lonesome Dragoness - Chapter 3: Dragoness in Shambles - Episode 4

When (Captain) and the others enter the clock tower, they encounter the commander of the aberrations. It proclaims that it was called to this world with shadow magic, and that it intends to conquer the entire Sky Realm.

(Captain) and the others aim for the core monolith in the clock tower.
Aberration: ...
Grea: Out of the way!
Aberration: ...
Grea: Hah!
Grea wields her dragon power without reserve to defeat the aberrations crossing the group's path.
Io: Your power's amazing! I could already tell before, but this is something else.
Vyrn: Yeah, you're a huge help.
Vyrn: Go get 'em!
Grea: Thanks!
Lyria: This is really nice, huh, Grea?
Grea: Uh-huh.
Students' battle cries are audible all over the campus.
Vyrn: It looks like the class president and everyone else have sprung into action.
Grea: Yeah. Let's hurry to the clock tower.
Io: Is this the clock tower?
Grea: Yeah. The core monolith's there behind the door.
Grea: Be on guard, everyone.
Grea slowly opens the door.
In addition to the core monolith, the clock tower also contains many other monoliths with people inside.
Io: What's going on? There are so many monoliths!
???: At last you have arrived, you of monstrous strength.
Io: You can talk?
???: It amuses us to speak with beasts such as you.
Grea: If you can understand our words, then answer me! What do you want?
???: A primal, fundamental, and unsullied world. To make these our skies, we will simply finish what the idle gods would not.
???: We shall return this world to its proper form. We shall reach the summit of the sky.
Grea: Do what to the world?
Grea: Why did you attack Mysteria?
???: Reason? There is no reason. We have merely kicked a stone from our path.
Grea: What...
???: Those creatures used methods that defy all reason to open a hollow gate to the Otherworld—to the Crimson Horizon.
The aberration turns its sight to the surrounding monoliths, or to the students likely inside.
Boy 1: ...
Boy 2: ...
Girl 1: ...
Girl 2: ...
Grea: These people called you?
???: It was therefore to fulfill our desires that we passed through the gate and arrived in this land. That is all.
???: We shall call further forces, and we shall trample the likes of you to make this land our own.
???: This is a battle, and all the sky is the prize. This is but one step in that process.
Grea: No! I won't let you do that no matter what! I'll protect Mysteria—protect everyone!
???: Heh-heh-heh! You are bold now. But you will not be for long.
???: Which shall prevail, your hope or our yearning? Let us compare our strength and see.

Lonesome Dragoness - Chapter 4: Their Bond - Episode 1

After (Captain) and the others destroy the second core monolith, a magic circle appears in midair, and from it countless aberrations emerge. The commander of the aberrations announces that it led the party to destroy the core monoliths as part of a ploy to open a transworld gate.

Grea: Haaaah!
Grea's power enables (Captain) and the others to overwhelm the aberrational army.
Aberrant Tower: Agh! The soldiers of the Sky Realm are more proficient than we imagined.
Lyria: Grea, now! The core monolith!
Grea: All right!
Grea: I'll use my power to save everyone!
The flames from Grea's right hand pierce the core monolith like a spear, and it begins to collapse.
Grea: Huff... huff...
Vyrn: That should do it!
Aberrant Tower: ...!
Lyria: Huh! What's that?
Io: We broke the core monolith, so how come they're still here?
Something is clearly different from when the quad's core monolith was destroyed.
Despite the fracturing of the core monolith, the aberrations remain as they were.
Aberrant Tower: We just now sent the vessels for those two pillars to the Otherworld.
Aberrant Tower: Come! May this be the greatest of days, one in which we trample the skies underfoot and kill the gods on high!
A gigantic magic circle appears in midair.
From that circle even more aberrations appear.
Vyrn: Huh? What's going on?
Grea: Why is this happening? We broke the core monolith that was working as a gate!
Aberrant Tower: The core monolith of amplification which you broke serves as a fetter and bridge between this sky and the Crimson Horizon.
Io: The core monolith is what?
Aberrant Tower: It is a ladder to the Otherworld. A siphon of exploitation.
Aberrant Tower: It is a mechanism to draw magical energy from the abandoned Crimson Horizon and supply it to the sky as we desire.
Io: What are you saying? That the monolith was able to amplify magic because it was stealing it from somewhere else?
Aberrant Tower: Yea. It was the ultimate insult.
Grea: So then you used that mechanism to come from that Otherworld?
Aberrant Tower: Yea.
Aberrant Tower: The opening of the gate in this land was a favorable opportunity.
Aberrant Tower: The casters were so unskilled that the core monolith of stabilization became a fetter, and the door's opening was incomplete.
Vyrn: Casters? Those students passed out there?
Boy 1: ...
Boy 2: ...
Girl 1: ...
Girl 2: ...
Aberrant Tower: Our main forces cannot pass through an incomplete transworld gate.
Aberrant Tower: In order to create a complete gate, it was necessary to destroy the unstable core monolith and remove the fetters.
Aberrant Tower: We would, however, normally be specters in this land.
Aberrant Tower: We cannot physically interact with the core monolith, which wavers along the borderland and possesses no soul.
Aberrant Tower: We therefore guided the skydwellers to destroy the core monoliths, and our strategy succeeded.
Io: So after we destroyed the core monolith in the quad, the aberrations disappeared—
Aberrant Tower: As a part of our strategy, one intended to make you think you could stop our attack by destroying the core monoliths.
Lyria: Then when you made the people into monoliths...
Aberrant Tower: Yea. They have the power of teleportation, but we merely used it to distract you.
Aberrant Tower: You served us well by destroying the core monoliths, which were the keys to crossing worlds.
Aberrant Tower: The gate has opened, and the worlds commune and become one.
Vyrn: They tricked us!
Grea: Is this... my fault?
Lyria: No...
Lyria: No, it isn't!
The truth about the gate makes the expression on Grea's face as gloomy as ever.

Lonesome Dragoness - Chapter 4: Their Bond - Episode 2

Believing that she's responsible for the dire straits that the academy is in, Grea unleashes the full brunt of her dragon force and tells the others to leave her behind.

(Captain) and the others are surrounded by monsters from the transworld gate.
Grea lowers her head and mutters.
Grea: I'm sorry. It's because of what I did that everyone... It's because I used this power that...
Io: It isn't because of what you did, Grea! No one ever imagined this would happen.
Lyria: Yeah! You didn't do anything wrong, Grea!
Grea: But—
Core Monolith: ...
Vyrn: Hey, save the chat for later! We've got to do something about this!
Grea: I'll do something. Now that things are like this, it's my job to figure things out.
Grea: So you and everyone else need to leave me here, (Captain).
Lyria: Grea!
Io: What are you saying? We can't just leave you here!
Grea: It's fine! Do what I say!
Io: ...!
Vyrn: Pianista?
Lyria: Grea? What are you going to do?
Grea: I'm going to draw out all of my dragon power—
Vyrn: All of it? You mean that you were holding back up until now?
Grea: Yeah. If I really let everything out, I won't be able to stop my destructive impulses.
Grea: Probably.
Io: But... in that case, what are you going to do after you beat these things?
Grea: If we don't find a way through this, nothing else is going to matter.
Lyria: But, Grea—
Grea: Lyria. That was your name, right? You said you didn't want to see the people you care about get hurt.
Grea: I'm the same way. I don't want you to get hurt either, Lyria and (Captain).
Grea: And that's why—
Dragon power begins to flow from Grea's body.
Lyria: Grea!
Grea: Please! Run away before my power starts overwhelming me.
Grea: Once that happens, I'll start destroying friends, enemies—everything!
Grea: I don't want to hurt you. You accepted me—
Grea: So please run away!
Lyria: No, you can't! Please stop! We all have to—
Grea: I'm sorry, Lyria!
Grea: Aaaaah!
Lyria: Eeeek!
Io: Ah!
Vyrn: Oof!
The shock wave from Grea's power blows back (Captain) and the others.
Lyria: Grea!
Grea: ...
As Grea stands there, her right hand shimmers gold, and from it rises a plume of flame. Her eyes are colored with a deathly crimson rage.

Lonesome Dragoness - Chapter 4: Their Bond - Episode 3

Lyria tries persuading Grea to end her rampage lest she injure herself any more, but the dragoness seems to view the crew members as enemies and attacks them. A young man and young woman suddenly arrive to help sway Grea.

Grea: ...
Shockwaves of incredible power radiate from within Grea. They seem capable of destroying absolutely everything around her.
(Captain) and the others are unable to move the tiniest bit in the face of the pressure.
Io: What is that? It's shaking my body!
Vyrn: I get it. That's the power of dragon blood if I've ever seen it.
Lyria: Grea...
Grea: ...
???: ...
Grea stands in place without moving.
The aberrations seem to view that as an opening and attack all at once.
Grea: Oof!
Grea's casual attack is enough to blow back all of the attacking aberrations.
That impact crumbles all of the remaining monoliths and warps the magic circle.
Vyrn: What!
Io: That force...
Aberrant Tower: That power is not human. Could it be the power of the primal beasts?
Grea: ...
Aberrant Tower: The gate between worlds cannot be closed. Stop her!
Upon this order, the aberrations form a circle around Grea and launch themselves at her.
Grea: Aaaaaah!
Grea annihilates the attacking creatures with her staggering power.
The aberrations, however, have numbers on their side. Grea is eventually injured by wave after attacking wave.
Grea: Haaah! Haaah!
Grea: Ugaaaah!
No matter how injured she may be, Grea's fighting spirit and deathly rage enable her to keep fighting at full power.
Vyrn: Hey, this is bad! If this keeps up, Grea's going to—
Io: She's calm for now, but the moment that she sees more of them, she's going to start up with them.
Io: But, anyway, if this keeps going—
Lyria: There aren't as many enemies as before. We have to help Grea and then all get out of here, (Captain).
Lyria: If not, then Grea's going to—
  1. Wait.
  2. Let's stop Grea.

Choose: Wait.
While Lyria panics, (Captain) points to the students beneath the fallen monuments.
Lyria: Oh...
Vyrn: Yeah, so we have to save the students who were turned into monoliths first.
Io: That's right. If we don't act, they're going to get dragged into the battle.

Choose: Let's stop Grea.
Lyria: Okay!
Io: Wait, (Captain)! Lyria!
Io: We have to stop Grea, but before that we have to help the people who were trapped in monoliths.
Io: If we don't act, they're going to get dragged into the battle. It'll be awful!
Lyria: Ah!
Io: We have to help those people while Grea distracts the enemies.
Continue 1
Lyria: Okay. All right then.
(Captain) and the rest of the crew members begin carrying out the students who were trapped in monoliths.
Boy 1: Groan...
Girl 2: ...
Vyrn: That should be all of them.
Io: Let's go stop Grea then!
Lyria: Okay!
Grea: Aaaaaah!
Though Grea's body is covered in wounds, she continues attacking the aberrations ferociously.
Aberrant Tower: We have not fallen behind, but we lack a decisive attack.
Aberrant Tower: This, like any other recreation, grows tiresome in time. We shall now bring this to an end.
Grea: Grrrr!
Lyria: Grea, please stop!
Grea: ...!
Lyria: I know what I told you, Grea! I told you that I didn't want to see the people that I care about get hurt.
Lyria: And I care about you, Grea!
Lyria: So I don't want to see you fighting when you're as hurt as you are.
Vyrn: Me either, Pianista. So just cool down and—
Lyria and the others try convincing Grea to stop, but Grea directs her attacks at them without hesitation.
Grea: Gaaaah!
(Captain)'s blade barely manages to intercept the attack that was directed at Lyria.
Grea: ...!
Grea's instincts put her on guard.
Io: Now! Let's pull out of here and get Grea away from those things.
Having departed from the area near the core monolith, the party departs down a corridor which connects the clock tower with other areas.
Just as they had hoped, Grea pursues them. The party succeeds in seperating Grea from the aberrations.
Grea: ...
Vyrn: It looks like Pianista's guard is up. Don't give her a chance to attack, (Captain).
A barrier is suddenly deployed as if to block the entrance to the clock tower.
Grea: ...!
Vyrn: What! The entrance to the clock tower!
Aberrations: ...
Aberrant Tower: Maintain the containment barrier that has been deployed. Do not allow them to interfere with the transworld gate.
Aberrant Tower: This is the last step we can take. We must act precisely.
Vyrn: Whoa, hey! How are we supposed to get back in?
Io: That can wait! For now we have to do something about Grea!
Grea: ...
Lyria: Please, Grea! Go back to being the sweet Grea that you were before.
Grea: ...
Lyria: Grea, you told me something, didn't you? That you don't want to hurt other people. And that you don't want to use your power.
Lyria: But you're going to hurt them again. Even if you're just trying to protect us.
Lyria: So please!
Grea: Aaagh!
Lyria's attempt at persuasion doesn't seem to reach Grea, who begins to raise her right hand.
Lyria: Grea!
???: Settle down, Dragoness!
???: I'm your friend, and I'd like to help you.
A young man just barely intercepts Grea's attack with the swing of a sorcerous blade.
???: Princess, now's our chance!
???: Yeah!
Magical chains wrap around Grea, and she stops moving.
Grea: ...!
Lyria: Grea!
???: She's fine. That will only restrain her.
???: And even then, it'll only last a little bit.
Lyria: Are you students from Mysteria?
???: Yes.
???: And we're Grea's friends too.
Grea: Gaaaah!
???: We can talk later. This restraining magic won't last long.
Grea: Aaaaaah!
Lyria: ...?
???: You're kidding! How could she break them that fast!
???: That's Grea all right.
Grea: ...!
Grea treats the girl who fired the restraint magic to be an enemy, and she directs her bestial attacks toward the her.
Grea: Aaaaaah!
???: Owen! We have to draw Grea out.
Owen: Yes ma'am!
???: Grea, we're here to help you!

Lonesome Dragoness - Chapter 4: Their Bond - Episode 4

The destruction that Grea wrought causes the classroom floor to fall out, and in the confusion Anne binds Grea with magical chains. Anne is then able to talk Grea down and help her return to normal.

A virtual avatar of destruction, Grea rages with an overwhelming power.
The two Mysterian students who have appeared work together to distract Grea.
Grea: ...!
Owen: I'm not letting you!
Owen deflects Grea's attack with a swing of his sorcerous blade.
Grea: ...!
???: I'm sorry, Grea, but I'm going to be a little bit rough here.
???: Spirits! Shine your vanquishing light on the wicked!
The light from the spirits' spears turns to chains, and Grea's body freezes in place.
Grea: Gaaaah!
Grea does her best to break the chains with her dragon power and flee, but she's unable to move whatsoever.
???: Unless something really out there happens, she shouldn't be able to—
Grea: Gaaaah!
???: Huh? You're kidding!
Grea: Huff... huff...
Grea breathes heavily and sways.
Owen: It looks like we've really worn her down.
???: Yeah, but if this goes on, we're both going to collapse.
Vyrn: Whoa! Those two are—
Lyria: Grea!
Grea: ...
Lyria: Grea, please! Stop doing this sort of thing!
Grea: Gaaaah!
Grea's attention turns away from the pair, and she attacks Lyria again.
???: Spirits! Shine your vanquishing light—
Grea: ...!
The young woman uses that moment as an opportunity to bind Grea with a spell once again.
Grea: Gah!
Using her dragon power, Grea casts off the young woman's chains of light.
Under the impact from the collision of those two great powers, the floor begins to collapse.
Lyria: Huh?
???: Wha—what!
Lyria: Eeeeek!
Io: You can't be serious!
Owen: Princess!
(Captain) and the others fall through the floor into the room downstairs.
Lyria: Ouch! Ouch!
Vyrn: Hey, are you all right?
  1. I'm fine!
  2. Is everyone else okay?

Choose: I'm fine!
Io: It wasn't that high of a fall, so we're okay. We just got scraped up a bit.
Lyria: Cough, cough. That was such a surprise!

Choose: Is everyone else okay?
Io: Ow, ow, ow! I'm fine. I just got a little scraped up.
Lyria: Cough, cough.
Lyria: I'm fine too!
Continue 1
???: And I'm fine too. What about the students?
To Anne's side a number of students are strewn about unconscious.
Io: It looks like those kids are the ones who made all of this happen.
???: What...
The crew explains the aberrations' gate to a stunned Anne and Owen.
???: I see.
Lyria: It wasn't safe inside the clock tower, so we took them outside.
Owen nears the students who were moved and checks to see whether they're breathing.
???: How do they look, Owen?
Owen: Their symptoms don't seem too severe. They've lost consciousness, but they should regain it before long.
???: Good. But still, this is—
???: This is the music room.
???: Oh, and all the pianos were broken.
Grea: Huff... huff...
(Captain) turns in the direction of the sound only to see Grea standing there, covered in wounds from head to toe.
Grea may have finally reached her limits, as she suddenly slumps down onto the floor.
???: ...!
The young woman runs toward Grea and embraces her to support her body.
Grea: Anne? Anne?
Anne: Grea, it's okay now.
When Grea hears Anne's words, the last pulsations of the dragon power dissipate.
Grea: Anne... I...
Hearing Grea's normal voice again, the young woman begins to cry and squeeze Grea's hand.
Grea: I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Anne. I couldn't do it.
Grea: I knew I had to protect the school while you were away. And still... and still...
Grea: I'm so sorry.
Tears begin streaming down Grea's face. The young woman she called Anne wipes away Grea's tears and turns her head to the side.
Anne: I should be the one apologizing. Sorry that I couldn't be here when it really mattered.
Grea: This feels awful. We had so many memories in the music room, and now it's a wreck.
Anne: It's fine. Those memories aren't going anywhere.
Grea: I let my dragon power get out of control. And I put everyone through so much trouble.
  1. Don't worry.
  2. It was all okay in the end.

Choose: Don't worry.
Io: Yeah, (Captain) is right. You only unleashed your dragon power to help us out!
Lyria: That's right. So you don't need to worry about it!

Choose: It was all okay in the end.
Vyrn: (Captain) is right!
Vyrn: If you didn't use your power, Pianista, those monsters might've captured us.
Continue 2
Grea: I'm really, really sorry, everyone.
Anne: You don't need to apologize at times like this, Grea. Just say thanks.
Grea: I'm sorry. And thank you, everyone.
The crew members smile and nod.
Lyria: Oh, and Grea. We're not going to be afraid of you because of this.
Vyrn: Yeah. We're just happy to have someone who's willing to help their friends as much as you.
Io: Yeah, me too. You were using your power for the right reasons, Grea.
Grea: Thanks, everyone. Thanks a lot.
Grea's tears flow as she expresses her heartfelt thanks to the crew.
She smiles more joyfully than ever before.

Lonesome Dragoness - Chapter 5: To Turn the Tables - Episode 1

Anne and Owen formally introduce themselves to (Captain) and the rest of the party, and then all discuss what to do. They decide to first treat Grea's wounds and help evacuate the students who were responsible for summoning the aberrations.

(Captain) and the others succeed in returning Grea to normal.
The two students who cooperated with the crew take the moment to properly say hello again.
Anne: Come to think of it, I don't think we ever really got a chance to introduce ourselves.
Anne: I'm Anne. I'm a student from the Mysteria Academy of Magic.
Lyria: Anne, you're the one that Grea cares about, aren't you?
Anne: Oh, did Grea say that?
Anne: Haha, that's so embarrassing.
Grea: ...
Grea: Lyria was good to me the same as you are.
Anne: I see. Then I'm sure we'll be friends. Thanks, Lyria.
Owen: My name's Owen. I'm also a student from the Mysteria Academy of Magic. I serve as Princess Anne's guard.
Vyrn: Princess Anne? You mean that she's a princess? Come to think of it, you did call her princess a minute ago.
Anne: Well, you don't really need to worry about it. I'm just another student here, and we all care for each other just the same.
Anne: So it's good to meet you, (Captain), Lyria, Io, and Vyrn.
Vyrn: Huh? How come you guys know our names?
Anne: Hanna told me.
Anne: She also told me how much you protected Mysteria.
Anne: Thank you so much. You protected the places and the people I care about.
Anne and Owen bow their heads to (Captain) and the others.
Anne: What are you going to do now, (Captain) and everyone?
Grea: I... I'll be fine. These wounds are... really nothing.
Grea: So...
Grea: Cough... cough...
  1. Let's retreat for now.
  2. Caring for Grea comes first.

Choose: Let's retreat for now.
Owen: That's a wise decision. Everyone's tired, so we should regroup while there are no enemies.
Lyria: All right. Let's do that!
Vyrn: Ah! We have to help Pianista get better.

Choose: Caring for Grea comes first.
Anne: Yeah, it would be a big help if you could do that. Thanks!
Anne: Let's go to the classroom building for now.
Continue 1
Grea: No... If we let them get away now...
Anne: Grea! Don't be reckless.
Io: Yeah! And rushing isn't going to fix things anyway.
Grea: What do you mean?
Io: The entrance to the clock tower was covered with a barrier. So we can't get in anymore.
Io: And it's not just you either, Grea. We have to treat the other kids too.
Grea: Huh? The other kids?
Io: The kids who were trapped by the monoliths in the clock tower.
Lyria: When the floor collapsed, other people got hurt too.
Students: ...
Boy 2: Um, Anne and Grea?
One after one, the students who were trapped inside the monoliths begin talking to Anne.
Anne: Oh, you're awake. Are you feeling okay?
Boy 2: Yeah. Why did everything—how did the school end up like this?
Io: You used some weird magic on the core monoliths.
Boy 1: ...!
Girl 1: No, you mean... that that was to blame?
Boy 1: What we did made the academy this way? But—
Boy 2: Um, Anne. We—
Anne: Um, let's talk later. We have to take care of your and Grea's wounds first.
Boy 2: Thank you.
Boy 2: Then, um, Anne. We'll explain what happened later.
Anne: Thanks.
Anne: Now let's go back to the classroom building.
Grea: Yeah.
(Captain) and the others are left with no choice but to temporarily retreat.
There at Anne's side, Grea seems to have settled down, full of regret though she may be.

Lonesome Dragoness - Chapter 5: To Turn the Tables - Episode 2

Io asks Anne about the magic she's using, and Anne responds by saying that she's able to summon paragon spirits. Io expresses her respect for Anne and decides that she'd one day like to be equally skilled.

(Captain) and the crew lead the students and Grea toward the classroom building.
Io: Hey, Anne.
Anne: Hm? What is it?
Io: That spell that you used to trap Grea—it's not regular magic, is it?
Anne: Ah, that? It's kind of summoning magic.
Anne: My way of using it's a little unusual though.
Io: Unusual?
Anne: Yeah. You normally use summoning magic to call on nature sprites and stuff, right?
Anne: But I don't use it to call on nature sprites. I use it to call on paragon spirits.
Io: What! Spirits?
Anne: When some people or nature sprites are revered by lots of people, their souls become paragon spirits.
Lyria: Um, so they're reeeally super, reeeally great people then?
Anne: Ahaha, you're not wrong about that.
Anne: Even in death they have things to do and important things they want to protect forever.
Anne: That determination makes them paragon spirits.
Lyria: They... they aren't ghosts, are they?
Anne: No, I've never really thought about them like that. But I guess they are and they aren't.
Lyria: But they're really great people, so they wouldn't scare people or hurt them, right?
Vyrn: Well, either way, I get that she's special for being able to summon those things.
Io: She's way more than special!
Io: There's no way that a normal mage could summon those spirits.
Io: You have to keep a supply of magical power flowing just to summon them, and that's even before you get to commanding them.
Io: Er, uh no, first you need a pact, and to make a pact you have to show the spirits your resources and your talent.
Anne: My spirits have protected my family for generations.
Anne: Something happened long ago.
Anne: So when I wanted to protect something I really cared about, they made a pact with me.
Io: Whoa, that's so Mysteria! There are really some amazing people here.
Io: But I'm Master's apprentice, so I'd better start trying to outdo them!
Io is filled with solid admiration for the skillful mage Anne.
But at the same time, she is filled with the flames of determination to one day become Anne's equal.

Lonesome Dragoness - Chapter 5: To Turn the Tables - Episode 3

Once the party is back in the classroom, the students who were responsible for summoning the aberrations explain that they used forbidden shadow magic to learn more about the Crimson Horizon and the Otherworld. The group decides to decode the spellbook that the students used, hoping that it might help resolve this situation.

When (Captain) and the crew return to the classroom building, they report the situation to Hanna and the others.
Hanna: I see. Thank you for gathering that information.
Hanna: So about these circles in the clock tower that connect with another world.
Hanna: We'll have to destroy them, or the monsters will keep passing through into our world.
Hanna: But our enemies have covered the entrance of the clock tower with a barrier, and we can't get inside at present.
Hanna: And then there are all of the students that you rescued.
Hanna: They used some sort of spell to connect this world and another one.
Hanna: That much we know.
Grea: I'm so sorry. This is all because I broke the monolith.
Choose: Let's retreat for now.
Hanna: You haven't done anything at all, Grea.
Hanna: If anything, I'm the one responsible.
Hanna: It was none other than I who asked you to destroy the core monolith.
Choose: Caring for Grea comes first.
Grea: No! No, I'm the one who said it, so—
Anne: All right now. That's enough, Hanna and Grea.
Anne: Enough about what's been done. Let's start talking about where we're going from here on.
Hanna: That's right. What Anne said.
Hanna: Ahem. Setting aside the students who were behind this for the moment...
Hanna: We have to figure out how to enter the clock tower.
Grea: I should be able to do something about the barrier. The problem is the circles that are acting as gates.
Grea: They could be like the monoliths, where they activate once they're broken.
Io: Those enemies are smart, so that could be right.
Anne: Hey, Hanna. Where are the people who opened the gate to the other world?
Anne: They said that they'd explain everything to us later.
Hanna: They should be in the infirmary now.
Girl 1: Um, excuse me...
Several students enter the room with trepidation.
Hanna: Are you all feeling okay now?
Girl 1: Yeah. Ms. Miranda patched us up.
Girl 1: Yeah, and... and... I'm sorry!
Boy 2: We really messed up!
The students all bow their heads to Hanna, (Captain), and the others.
Hanna: Well, it looks like you have a good idea of the state of the academy.
Girl 2: Yeah. We heard everything from Ms. Miranda.
Girl 1: We didn't just put the school in danger. We put the whole world in danger.
Girl 1: What can we do now? I'm so sorry.
Hanna: This isn't the sort of problem that can be apologized away.
The faces of the students responsible become dim and pale.
Boy 1: I mean, we didn't think that anything this bad would happen.
Boy 1: We just wanted to find out more about the bottom of the sky.
Hanna: The bottom of the sky?
Boy 2: Yeah. At the bottom of the sky, there's a world different from the legendary Astral Realm.
Boy 2: A world called the Crimson Horizon or the Otherworld.
Boy 2: It said so in this book.
Anne: The Crimson Horizon. That's supposed to be a place at the bottom of the sky.
The boy hands the book to Anne.
Boy 2: We wanted to find out more about it, so we used one of the forbidden shadow magic spells written in this book.
Hanna: Forbidden shadow magic?
Hanna: You students!
Anne: Come on now. Calm down, Hanna.
Hanna: Hm? Well, okay.
Anne: What sort of spell was that forbidden shadow magic?
Boy 2: It was supposed to be a spell that would make a gate to connect worlds.
Boy 2: We tried using that spell to make gates to the Crimson Horizon, to the Otherworld.
Boy 2: We were trying to check them out in person.
Hanna: What made you decide to do that sort of thing?
Boy 1: We wanted to prove it with our own hands—the existence of that Otherworld.
Boy 1: The Sky Realm and the bottom of the sky are just physically on top of each other. They're connected.
Boy 1: So then why is the Crimson Horizon, which is supposed to be the bottom, considered the Otherworld?
Boy 1: Can it really be treated as another world?
Boy 1: We wanted to reveal that world's hidden secrets.
Boy 1: We thought if we did that, everyone would look up to us as master mages.
Hanna: ...
Boy 2: But to even make a tiny hole, the spell requires a ton of magic and an intermediary.
Boy 1: So we used the core monolith of amplification when we cast the spell.
Girl 1: Nothing happened at first, so we thought we messed up.
Girl 1: But before we knew it, there was a gate there.
Anne: I see.
Anne: There are spells in that book for opening the door, right?
Anne: Then magic that closes the door should also be—
Boy 2: Uh, about that. I'm sorry, but we didn't read all the way to the end.
Hanna: Unbelievable. How can you open a door without even knowing how to close it? That's so thoughtless of you!
Boy 1: We figured that if we stopped supplying magic to it, then the gate would shut.
Hanna: That's an all-too-convenient way of thinking born of your impulsiveness. The door didn't close, now did it?
Boy 2: No.
Anne: Then all that we can do is decipher the rest by ourselves.
Hanna: That's right. We should have the teachers help us out as well.
Hanna: There are sure to be some things that we can't figure out alone.
Anne: You're right.
Anne looks carefully through the spellbook that the students gave her, a book that provides the only clue to how to resolve this situation.
In her eyes there burns the steady fire of determination to protect the academy—the place that she cares for.

Lonesome Dragoness - Chapter 5: To Turn the Tables - Episode 4

While the other members take Mr. Bertrand's suggestion to rest, Anne keeps trying to decode the spellbook. She's eventually able to create a spell to close the transworld gate.

In cooperation with Mr. Bertrand and Ms. Miranda, Anne and the others attempt to decipher the spellbook that the students used to open the gate.
Ms. Miranda: Uh oh, I can't understand a lick of this. Well, I give up!
Mr. Bertrand: Ms. Miranda, please avoid saying that in front of the students.
Ms. Miranda: Huh? But, but, but...
Mr. Bertrand: If you're going to make excuses, that will be reflected on next term's assessment. Oh ho ho!
Ms. Miranda: Come on! But this is super-duper tough!
The decoding is an extreme challenge, and progress is snailish even as the two teachers combine their knowledge.
Io: Groan... My eyes are getting blurry.
Hanna: I can't concentrate any more.
Grea: Yeah.
Mr. Bertrand: That's certainly so. We should call it a day.
Mr. Bertrand: We all seem to have reached our limits.
Ms. Miranda: I'm on board with you there!
Grea: I'm still okay.
Hanna: Me too. I'm not really at a good stopping point yet, and I can still go on for a while.
Mr. Bertrand: Hanna, it's important to rest.
Mr. Bertrand: In a situation like this, there's no telling what could happen or when.
Mr. Bertrand: Imagine being sleepy and not having enough strength at the moment when it really matters. Now wouldn't that be missing the point of things entirely?
Hanna: But that's—
Anne: Hanna, it's like Mr. Bertrand says. Let's rest while we have the chance.
Anne: There's still a long way to go from here.
Anne: Grea has been fighting the whole time, and so have (Captain) and the others.
Mr. Bertrand: Oh ho ho! It's just as Anne says. I understand that you're feeling a bit rushed, but it's precisely at times like these when rest is important.
Mr. Bertrand: Lie down for just a bit and you'll feel much better. Please rest.
Ms. Miranda: Yepper. Just leave what's left to your teachers and get a good sleep.
Ms. Miranda: You gotta rest if you want to be the best.
  1. Okay.

Choose: Okay.
Ms. Miranda: (Captain), you're such a good kid!
Ms. Miranda: I'm gonna give you a big gold star!
(Captain) and the others bow to Mr. Bertrand and Ms. Miranda and then head out of the room.
Hanna: Okay then, Anne. Now let's go back.
Anne: Sorry, Hanna. I need to talk with Mr. Bertrand.
Hanna: Oh? I suppose I'll go on back now.
Anne: Okay. You go on ahead too, Owen.
Owen: That's not going to happen. How could I put myself before you, Princess?
Anne: I've told you that you don't need to worry about that.
Owen: I have to.
Anne: That's enough, Owen. I have a mission here.
Owen: Gulp...
Anne: I'll rest just as soon as I'm done talking with Mr. Bertrand.
Anne: All right?
Owen: As you wish.
Hanna: It's been quite a while since I've heard that exchange, but it comes as a relief.
Mr. Bertrand: Oh ho ho!
Mr. Bertrand: Ah, Ms. Miranda. You should go rest as well.
Mr. Bertrand: I excel at this sort of work, so I should be able to continue on for a while.
Ms. Miranda: All righty then. Gotcha!
Hanna: I'll take my leave then. Good night.
Owen: I beg your pardon.
Ms. Miranda: Nighty night, everybody!
Anne: Yeah, good night!
Anne: So, Mr. Bertrand.
Mr. Bertrand: Oh ho ho! Anne, it's no good to hold your feelings in.
Anne: Ahaha! Could you tell?
Mr. Bertrand: Yes. Do you plan to continue decoding on your own?
Anne: Yeah. Hanna and Grea and (Captain)—
Anne: They're all working as hard as they can to protect Mysteria, every one of them.
Anne: So I still have a lot of energy left compared to everyone else.
Mr. Bertrand: At the same time, I'm not sure how good it would be for you to take on too much.
Anne: I'm not taking anything special on. I'm just doing what I can now.
Mr. Bertrand: Sigh, you are certainly stubborn once you've made up your mind. All right then.
Mr. Bertrand: But don't overdo it. And one more thing—
Anne: ...?
Mr. Bertrand: Don't forget that you're lying to Hanna and Owen.
Anne: Oh. Okay.
Mr. Bertrand leaves the room.
Anne: Thanks, everyone. And sorry, Owen and Hanna.
Anne: Now, I just have one last push.
Anne resumes her effort to decode the book.
Anne: So this is the spell that they used to open the transworld gate. If I apply it right, it should be able to close the gate.
Anne: Yeah, so if this is this way, and I do this like—
Anne: Ah, that missed the mark.
Anne: Then what if I do this like this?
Anne: No, that's still not right.
Anne continues looking for a way to close the transworld gate.
Anne: Hmm... It feels like I'm so close.
Anne: It might take some brute force, but I'll just try a bunch of variations and see what works.
Anne: I still have enough magic. Well then, here goes!
Deep into the night, Anne expends her magic on spell after spell.
Surely only one as magical as Anne could handle this.

Lonesome Dragoness - Chapter 6: For the Good Times - Episode 1

The other party members find Anne passed out, and she explains that she used too much magic while creating a spell. Grea gently chides her, but Anne cheerfully announces that she's happy to have completed the spell that will save Mysteria.

Grea: ...nne! A... ake up! I... sai... up!
Grea: A... nne! Plea... wa... up!
Anne: Huh? Grea?
Grea: Oh, good!
Anne slowly opens her eyes and sees Grea standing above her with a worried expression on her face.
Anne: Hm?
Anne: Uh... Grea?
Anne: (Captain) and the others went back to your room.
Grea: We all wanted to talk with you, so we went to your room, but you weren't there.
Grea: And we started looking for you, and when we came here you were collapsed on the floor. We were really shocked.
Anne: Ah... Okay, I get it now.
Anne: I'm sorry. I'm sorry I worried you guys.
Grea: Are you all right, Anne? If you're not feeling okay, then Ms. Miranda can—
Anne: No, I'm okay. I feel totally fine.
Grea: But—
Anne: I just used a bit too much magic. It's been a really long time since I tried that hard, so before I knew it, I just went and—
Grea: You made a spell?
Anne: Yeah. I made use of the spell that opened the transworld gate to create a spell from scratch.
Anne: But things didn't go very smoothly, so to create it I had to try one thing after another.
Anne: And I ended up like this before I knew it. I've still got a lot to learn.
Grea: Anne, sometimes you—no, you always push yourself way too hard.
Anne: Heehee!
Anne: But we have it now, a spell to close the transworld gate.
Anne now has a spell to close the transworld gate.
As Grea breathes a sigh of relief, the sun begins to dawn.
Its rays are like new rays of hope shining on Mysteria.

Lonesome Dragoness - Chapter 6: For the Good Times - Episode 2

Hearing that Anne will need full concentration during her spell invocation, Hanna and the others adjust their strategy accordingly. Hanna relays this strategy to the student body.

The following morning, Anne explains to everyone that she's learned a spell to close the transworld gate that connects this world with the other.
Vyrn: So what you're saying is that if we use that spell, we'll be able to shut that gate.
Anne: Yeah. But it's just slapped together, so it's a pretty delicate spell.
Anne: So—
Hanna: You won't be able to use any other magic while you're sealing the transworld gate. So during the invocation you'll need a place where you can concentrate.
Hanna: That's what you're trying to say, isn't it?
Anne: Yeah. You've got it, Hanna!
Ms. Miranda: Doing something that tough in just one night...
Ms. Miranda: You're amazing, Anne!
Mr. Bertrand: Yes. Your talent is amazing, as is your steadfast determination to protect Mysteria. None of this would have been possible without it.
Hanna: The barrier around the clock tower—we'll need Grea's power to destroy it, won't we?
Grea: Yeah.
Hanna: So in terms of strategy, we'll escort everyone to the clock tower.
Hanna: And after that, Anne's group and (Captain)'s group will enter the clock tower and seal the gate.
Hanna: That strategy should be the best, right?
Anne: Yeah, I think so too.
Anne: But there's one more thing.
(Captain) and the others stare at Anne.
Anne: (Captain), Lyria, Vyrn, and Io!
Anne: I'm sorry to always keep asking so much of you.
Anne: But there's one thing I need from you. Please lend me your strength so that I can save Mysteria.
Mr. Bertrand: I truly regret that you've gotten wrapped up in such preposterous business when you merely came for a tour.
Mr. Bertrand: We are, however, truly fortunate that it was you who came here with us.
Mr. Bertrand: Though it's a bit of an embarrassment, I would like to ask that you lend your power in order to save Mysteria.
Hanna: Please, (Captain).
Owen: I'm going to have to ask you as well.
Anne bows her head deeply to (Captain).
  1. We're going to close that gate.
  2. Why so formal?

Choose: We're going to close that gate.
Vyrn: Yeah! (Captain) can't just abandon you, and neither can I.
Io: Yeah, we're all in this together now.
Anne: Thank you so much, (Captain).

Choose: Why so formal?
Hanna: Thank you. We'll never forget what you've done for us.
Continue 1
Hanna: I'll inform the other students of our strategy then. We're going to need all of the help we can get.
Anne: No, I'll tell everyone. I mean, please let me tell them.
Hanna: Anne... All right then.
Anne explains the strategy in front of all the exhausted students, motivating them as she asks for their cooperation.
Though some students are injured, the young woman's powerful words motivate the students and push them onward.
Grea: You really are amazing, Anne.
Hanna: You're the most charismatic girl in the school, though it pains me a bit to admit it.
Owen: One day you'll be standing above many other people, Princess. You've moved me deeply.
Anne: Let's pool our strength and take back Mysteria.
Boy 1: Yeah, we're going to take back Mysteria.
Boy 2: You got it. We're going to show them what the academy's made of.
Girl: Anne's done this much for us. We've got to do more too.
Vyrn: It's hard to believe all yesterday's doom and gloom was real.
Io: Right!
Io: It's finally time to launch our counterattack.
Lyria: Grea, would you use your power once more to protect everyone?
Grea: Yeah.
Grea: (I'll use my power to protect everyone.)
Grea: (No matter what happens to me.)
Lyria: ...
The students' morale swells.
Grea quietly grows more resolute as she watches them.
Lyria, however, secretly looks on at the young woman and frowns.

Lonesome Dragoness - Chapter 6: For the Good Times - Episode 3

Lyria asks Grea to avoid acting as recklessly as before, and Anne encourages Grea to ask the others for help when she needs it, to which Grea nods in agreement. A distressed shout from Hanna spurs the group into action.

Everyone is trying to prepare as thoroughly as possible in anticipation of the counterattack.
Lyria: Uh, Grea?
Grea: Lyria? What is it?
Lyria: You're probably going to use your dragon power again.
Lyria: I mean, I think we need that power to protect everyone, and I want you to use it.
Lyria: But even if things start looking dangerous like before, don't push yourself too hard.
Grea: Huh?
Lyria: I don't want to see you like that. I don't want to see you get hurt again, Grea. So—
Grea: ...
Anne: Lyria's right, Grea.
Grea: Anne.
Anne: No matter what, you can't let your dragon power go wild when you're trying to help everyone. It's too reckless.
Grea: But... but if that's the only way to help everyone out...
Anne: I don't mean this to sound like a silly pep talk, but if we all work together, we should be able to find a way.
Anne: If you try to do everything yourself, nothing good's going to come of it.
Grea: You of all people are telling me this?
Anne: Huh?
Anne: Ah...
Anne: Well, no, you see! I think of my job as everything up to closing the gate, and that's nothing that I can do alone.
Grea: Pfft, ahaha!
Anne: Hey, quit laughing. Anyway, we can all help each other now, so that's what we should do.
Grea: Yeah, it's all right. I get how to use this power and why.
Anne: Oh. Then everything's okay.
Lyria: But if you have trouble or something's bothering you, please just ask for help.
Grea: Ask for help?
Lyria: Yes, please just ask.
Grea: ...
Anne: Hey, Grea. Remember that you can ask other people for help.
Anne: You always try to deal with everything yourself. It's really not a good habit.
Grea: ...
Grea: Okay then. Starting this time, I'll try to ask for advice at least once.
Lyria: Okay. That's a promise!
Grea: Yeah.
Hanna: Anne! Grea! Lyria! Where are you?
A hint of trembling can be heard in Hanna's voice off in the distance.
Anne: It seems like something happened. Let's hurry back!
Lyria: Okay!
Lyria and the others rush back to Hanna in order to see what's happening.

Lonesome Dragoness - Chapter 6: For the Good Times - Episode 4

After an intense battle against the aberrations and their commander, the party manages to close the transworld gate. Just as it seems they are victorious, however, the Chaos Beast emerges from the body of the aberrations' commander.

William: Ah, Anne! Hanna was looking for you!
Anne: William! You're okay!
Owen: Everyone really seems shaken up. Where's the class president, William?
William: This way!
Anne: Hanna, what's wrong? Did something happen?
Hanna: A moment ago there was a flood of enemies from the clock tower.
Vyrn: You don't mean they sent their main force this way!
Hanna: We haven't been able to check how many there are yet, so I can't say.
Hanna: However, compared to yesterday, they're certainly pouring in. There's no doubt about that.
Io: But—
Hanna: The enemies most likely have a sense of our strategy, in which case there's no time. We have to start acting.
Anne: It's finally time.
Grea: Yeah.
Hanna: Are you ready, everyone?
  1. Time for a showdown!

Choose: Time for a showdown!
Vyrn: All right! We're gonna show 'em who's boss!
Lyria: Yes! We'll all work together, and we'll do great!
Hanna: Let's go, everyone. The final battle to take back Mysteria has begun!
Hanna's rallying cry has energized everyone present. Their eyes sparkle, and their hearts pound.
(Captain), the crew, and the students of Mysteria begin their final battle to free the school.
Hanna: Remember, everyone! No matter what, we have to lead Anne's group to the clock tower.
Monolith: ...
...
Ms. Miranda: Uh-ohs! Looks like we've got company. Pass the word on to Mr. Bertrand in the rear.
William: Hanna! We've got this!
William: We'll draw the enemies' attention. So as much as you can, please just stay low.
Hanna: We really owe you one!
Owen: You'll get this!
Anne: We're going to succeed no matter what. Just wait, William!
Grea: We'll see you soon. Thanks!
  1. Thanks, dude.
  2. Trying to impress Hanna?

Choose: Thanks, dude.
William: Hey, cut me some slack.
William: It would be tough for them alone, so I want you to lend a hand.
William: I know it was us who dragged you into this. But we really need your help!

Choose: Trying to impress Hanna?
William: What! Could... could you tell?
William: Well, that doesn't matter. We dragged you into this, but we really need your help!
Continue 1
William: So please! Save the future of the academy!
Vyrn: Yeah! We've got this!
Io: Now that we're here, we've got to see this through.
Lyria: I know that (Captain), Grea, and Anne are sure to close the door.
Owen: We'll reach the clock tower in just a second.
Hanna: The time's almost here, everyone.
Hanna: The rest is up to you.
Hanna: We'll guard the door so that you don't get caught in a pincer attack!
Anne: Okay!
Hanna: Please close that gate no matter what!
(Captain) and the crew have finally reached the entrance to the clock tower.
The entrance, however, is covered with the barrier deployed by the aberrational army.
Grea: ...
Anne: So this is it.
Vyrn: All right. We're counting on you, Pianista.
Grea: Okay.
Grea maintains a calm expression as her right hand begins to take on a golden flame.
Lyria: Grea, you can do this!
Grea: Mmph!
Grea deals a forceful blow to the barrier, but it amplifies and reflects her attack.
Grea: Ooh...
The barrier is frighteningly solid, and not even Grea's dragon power is able to destroy it.
Grea: I just need to unleash more power!
Anne: Grea!
Grea: It's fine. It will break before long!
Grea's right arm shimmers brilliantly, and before long her irises begin to turn a brilliant red. The full brunt of her dragon power is about to be unleashed.
As more power begins flowing from Grea's body, the air begins to vibrate.
Vyrn: Hey, hey! Is this really all right?
Io: Up close you can tell how tightly this barrier's woven together.
Io: This would normally be impossible. Are there really barriers this powerful?
Lyria: Let's believe in her. In Grea.
Grea: ...
Grea: (I made up my mind. I prepared myself.)
Grea: (I'm going to use this power to help. Help everyone from Mysteria.
Grea: Without this power, no one gets saved.)
Anne: Just a little more, Grea!
Grea: Aaaaah!
No sooner does Grea roar than the barrier breaks, shattering to pieces like broken glass.
Grea: Huff... huff...
Io: Yes!
Grea: Lyria. I believe in myself. In my power.
Grea: I didn't believe in myself before, so I couldn't believe in anyone else. And I didn't want to let other people help me. So...
Lyria: It's okay. You can ask for help. Anne believed in you, and now she's about to do a great job.
Anne: Yeah, next is my turn. But if you didn't help out, I wouldn't have been able to do anything.
Lyria: And we're going to trust in Anne and do a great job ourselves!
Vyrn: Heheh! This is like some sort of relay race!
Grea: Yeah! Thanks, everyone!
Io: Hm... I don't think the lizard did anything.
Vyrn: Huh!
Vyrn: No, I...
Having destroyed the barrier, (Captain) and the others move into the clock tower.
Aberrant Tower: Very well. We have failed to halt the inhuman one.
Aberrant Tower: But we see it all the same—your grand strategy for this land. All other party members are exhausted.
Aberrant Tower: This time and this place are, in effect, where our showdown takes place.
Anne: (Grea... (Captain)... I've already begun my spell and invocation. The rest is you!)
Aberrant Tower: There is no need for formalities or decorum. We simply hunger for the spoils of war. All that remains is for us to mete out destruction on the greatest scale.
Grea immediately leaps out at the aberration and tears through it as if it were gauze.
Grea: Haaaah!
Aberrant Tower: Gwah! What!
Grea: You said there's no need for formalities or decorum. And we don't have time for those anyway.
Monolith: ...
...!
Grea: (Captain)! Take care of the other ones. I'll get this!
Vyrn: Whoa! This is the moment that it all goes down!
Lyria: We have to protect Grea, (Captain)!
Anne: Esta mella metiel zeina!
Owen: (How much longer will it be till the spell is complete? The enemies are all focusing on Grea. If this keeps up—)
Anne: All fell tento!
Anne: That should do it!
Anne: Come, grim disciples! Break now the ties with that distant land, and wash away that world's pollution!
Aberrations: ...!
Aberrant Tower: The transworld gate!
Io: Wow! She made a spell that complicated in such a short time all by herself...
It was immediately after Anne's invocation.
The magic circle that had functioned as a transworld gate warps and begins to contract.
All aberrations inside and outside the clock tower are affected equally.
The aberrations' bodies turn to gas, melt in the air, and pass through walls.
They're then drawn into the circle and vanish.
Aberrant Tower: I shall not accept this! I shall not accept this!
Aberrant Tower: We have not come this far to fail in such a way. This shall not stand!
Grea: You're not going back!
Grea: This is the end!
Aberrant Tower: ...!
Grea's mighty blow pierces the enemy.
Aberrant Tower: Gaa... gaha!
Aberrant Tower: Gurble gurble...
Aberrant Tower: You've only bought time... till the next attack.
Grea: ...?
Aberrant Tower: I offer my core to the emperor!
Grea: ...!
Grea instinctually senses danger and puts distance between herself and the aberration.
From the wound that the young woman inflicted, the head of a beast suddenly emerges.
Ooooh!
Anne: What is that!
Owen: It's eaten through the aberration... from the inside. No, it's obviously a lot bigger!
Lyria: I could feel it if only for a moment. At the moment when that enemy died, it made something inside of it into a gate.
Io: What's going on here anyway? It's just one thing after another!
The black beast reveals its gigantic form.
Owen: That's more of a giant than I'd imagined. The clock tower's going to collapse. We have to get out of here.
Ooooh!
The gigantic black beast seems as if it could be larger than the clock tower itself. Feeling a sense of danger, the party flees outdoors.
The size and weight of the black beast are such that it tears the clock tower apart and crushes it to pieces.
Vyrn: Whoa, that was a close call. That thing's way bigger than the clock tower!
Anne: This must be them throwing up one last fight. If they'd been able to open a gate, there would've been even more of these things.
Owen: I don't even want to think about it.
Grea: But Anne closed the gate. So if we were to defeat him, everything will end.
Ooooh!
Anne: That's right.
Grea: Anne, you've probably used up all of your magic, so (Captain) and I will handle this again.
Anne: Yeah! Thanks, Grea!
Vyrn: Guard us well, okay, big guy?
Owen: Humph, I'll carry out my mission whether I'm told to or not.
Owen: Go on and fight with everything you've got!
Io: We've got a big target, so we should really be able to go wild.
Lyria: Come on, (Captain) and Grea!
Grea: Okay!

Lonesome Dragoness - Ending

After the crew defeats the Chaos Beast, the faculty and students of the Mysteria Academy of Magic give their heartfelt thanks. Grea watches the crew depart and hopes to become friends the next time they meet.

Chaos Beast: Graaaaa!
The black beast cowers upon being attacked by (Captain) and the others.
Io: Lyria!
Lyria: Okay!
Lyria: Primeval dragon!
Lyria: Child of flame and darkness!
Proto Bahamut: ...!
Grea: Is that a dragon?
Lyria: Grea! Let's go do this together!
Grea: All right!
Grea draws out her dragon power, and a golden flame raises up from her right arm.
The flames are colored with a shimmering hope that was hitherto absent.
Lyria: Please, Bahamut!
Grea: Haaaah!
Chaos Beast: ...
Upon the impact of the two great forces, the black beast disintegrates.
Perhaps because of their collision—or perhaps because this was truly the end—everything falls silent.
Grea: ...
Owen: ...
Io: ...
Lyria: Whew...
Anne: Yeah! We finally did it, everyone!
Grea: Anne...
Hanna: Are you okay, everyone?
  1. It's all over.

Choose: It's all over.
Anne: The gate's sealed up too!
All of the students give a cheer.
Hanna: It seems to have ended at last.
Hanna: (Captain), I have to sincerely apologize for getting you involved in this.
Hanna: And I have to sincerely thank you for saving us.
Grea: If (Captain) weren't here, we wouldn't have been able to protect Mysteria.
Owen: We really owe you one. I can't thank you enough.
Anne: Thank you so much, (Captain)!
Anne and the others bow their heads to (Captain).
  1. This is because we worked together.
  2. It's a relief that everyone's okay.

Choose: This is because we worked together.
Io: Yeah, it's like what (Captain) says!
Io: We all helped saved Mysteria together.

Choose: It's a relief that everyone's okay.
Vyrn: Yeah, there were a lot of close calls.

Hanna: Thank you. It's music to our ears to hear that.
Hanna: But at the same time, it's true that we are deeply indebted to you. No matter how things might be now, I hope that we'll be able to pay you back someday.
Hanna: Isn't that right, Ms. Miranda?
Ms. Miranda: Yepper! Ask for anything you want. You guys sure worked hard!
Mr. Bertrand: Somehow it lacks the gravitas when you say it, Ms. Miranda.
Io: The academy used to be so pretty, and now it's a mess.
Lyria: It is.
Mr. Bertrand: Given the scale of destruction in the academy and the town, we've managed to escape much harm to people. Most were only slightly injured.
Mr. Bertrand: If we can receive support from the Kingdom of Mysteria, we should be able to restore the school before too long.
Vyrn: I hope that everything's back to normal next time we stop by the island.
Ms. Miranda: I'm soo sorry! Let me continue our tour when that time comes.
Io: If you put the accident aside, I had a good time here.
Io: I really got a lot of out of it.
Lyria: You did?
Io: Yeah. There are lots of great young mages in the world.
Io: And I really got a sense of how many!
Io: Like, if I work hard enough, I could be like them.
Io: And if you don't use music well, you can cause a real disaster.
Io: But if you use it well, you can help a lot of people.
Io: It's great to really understand that.
Ms. Miranda: How about that? All's well that ends well then!
Mr. Bertrand: It looks like there was a real silver lining, so to speak.
Vyrn: Well, we should get going before long.
Vyrn: We've gotta catch the wind that's been blowing for the past few days and go on to the next place.
Lyria: It really hurts not to be able to stick around and rebuild.
Anne: You shouldn't worry about it. We're the ones who made this mess, and it's only fair that we clean it up.
Grea: Yeah, it's like Anne says. You don't need to worry about the rest at all.
Grea: We'll be able to rebuild Mysteria. When we do, come back to hang out!
Lyria: Yes, of course. Grea!
Owen: We didn't get the chance to speak at length, (Captain), but you'll have to instruct me in that excellent swordsmanship of yours.
William: Yeah, you have to come back. Take your time and relax then!
Io: Thank you!
With that, (Captain) and the others turn away from the Mysteria Academy of Magic and begin slowly walking away.
Anne: Are you sure you don't need to ask?
Grea: Yeah.
Grea: Something tells me we're sure to meet again!
Grea: (Thank you, Lyria. Someday—)
Grea: (Maybe then I'll be able to ask you to be my friend.)
The half-human, half-dragon girl was able to take away much from her encounter with (Captain).
The land of Mysteria came into contact with what was forbidden and was left with deep scars.
The bonds and connections born in this land are sure to act as the gears that drive an even greater destiny.
The girl in blue, the crimson dragon, and the half-dragon girl. Some of the sights that they see exist only on account of fate's disfavor.
When those sights show themselves and their paths twine together again, they will doubtlessly be reunited somewhere far away.
