Conquest of the Dark Singularity - Chapter 4: Deep Trouble - Episode 3

Though the crew has been awakened, Vikala, Percival, and Ragazzo have also swapped bodies with albacore. Hekate explains that albacore had headbutted them while they were sleeping, which were probably sent by their enemy to get them out of the picture. She can't remember what she was doing right before she became an albacore either. Lyria starts feeling like something bad is about to happen, and suddenly the sea level starts to rise rapidly.

---

The crew wakes up to find that Hekate has become an albacore.

Vyrn: Uh, are we sure that we're actually awake?

Cupitan: I am, at least. This indecent color is definitely Hekate.

Hekalbacore: Don't get too surprised yet. There's more where that came from.

Kumbhira: Oh, come on. I don't think anything's going to beat—

Vikalbacore: ...!
(Kumbhira!)

Percibacore: ...!
(To think that we would be subject to such humiliation!)

Ragazbacore: ...!
(Man, I can't say I saw this coming...)

Cupitan: Glub glub?

Though the whole crew is now awake, Vikala, Percival, and Ragazzo have turned into albacore.

Hekalbacore: I'm able to speak directly into your minds, but I'm assuming that those three are capable of no such thing.

Ilsa: So what exactly is going on? Where even were you when all this started?

Hekalbacore: I don't really remember, actually. I feel like I had discovered something, but...

Hekalbacore: I must have been hit in the head by an albacore, causing me to both forget and swap bodies with it.

Hekate surveys the beach as she continues to telepathically communicate with the group.

Hekalbacore: Everyone in Auguste has been made to fall into a deep slumber.

Sig: Everyone on the whole island?

Hekalbacore: Indeed. Such a feat would be beyond even my powers. Whatever did this must be even more supernatural than I am.

Hekalbacore: That said, everyone but us was merely put to sleep. We must be the ones this extra-supernatural being really wants out of the picture.

Ilsa: Are you telling me that it's trying to weaken us by turning our crewmates into albacore?

Hekalbacore: Yes. I saw some of them headbutt you all as you slept and then walk off with your bodies.

Vyrn: But wait, why haven't we gone all fishy too then?

Hekalbacore: I don't know why, but it seems like anyone who was judged to be akin to an albacore was ultimately left unaffected.

Cupitan: Oh, are you talking about that dream? I turned into an albacore, but I just kind of accepted it!

Ilsa: So everyone who accepted the metamorphosis was spared it, while those who resisted ended up with the short end of the stick...

Albacore Crewmates: ...!

While the crew members are discussing the situation, they suddenly hear a groan from nearby.

Tunaro: ...!

Sig: Oh, Tunaro's still sleeping? He doesn't sound like he's having a good time of it...

Hekalbacore: Perhaps my powers aren't as effective on primal beasts as they were on you? Well, I'm sure he'll wake up eventually.

Hekalbacore: I've deliberately neglected to wake up everyone else on the island to avoid causing a panic.

Vyrn: So do you think that this extra-supernatural being is behind everything, including (Captain) and Tunaro swapping bodies?

Ilsa: It seems that every "enemy" I face feels the need to beat around the bush to get what it wants. What in the skies could it be trying to accomplish?

Lyria: I'm feeling something terrible. I think that there might be something truly frightening making its way toward us...

And sure enough, just as Lyria voices her fears...

Without warning, the sea swells with a roar loud enough to break the island.

Kumbhira: What's happening? There's a bunch of waves coming our...

Sig: No, it's way worse than that!

Sig: The... the sea is growing!
