Freedom's Dirge - Chapter 6: Fatal Situation - Episode 4

Rhiogur tries to win back the hearts of the disciples with his summoning act, but initially fails as Skull tricks him into revealing the sham. Still, he eventually succeeds by reminding them of the wealth and power membership in Chamux offers. Rhiogur brings out his Flaming Ultra Dogsled-Tank Jenkins and makes an attack on the crew.

Rhiogur: My sons! Do not let yourselves be deceived!

Rhiogur: Did you not hear Guzaletha's voice that spoke from within me?

Chamux Disciples: ...

At Rhiogur's sudden display of anger, the disciples remain silent and unmoving.

Rhiogur: Aaargh!

Rhiogur: Divine punishment! Divine punishment upon you aaall!

Rhiogur loses his temper and swings wildly at everyone around him.

North Husky: Whine...

Rhiogur: Grr... You mean to say the even the pups have lost the will to fight?

North Husky: Squeal!

Skull: Hey! What the hell are you doing to that doggy?

Rhiogur: Silence! Sileeence! You shall not speak, traitor!

Rhiogur: Yeeeehaaaw!

Rhiogur goes into a frenzy, wrenching a gun from a Chamux disciple and repeatedly pulling the trigger without bothering to sight any targets.

When his followers realize that they, too, are in danger, they scatter in all directions, frantic to get away.

Rhiogur: Hrrrgh... My sons... How can you let yourselves be deceived by this traitor?

Rhiogur: The only person you should be trusting is me, your Allfather... and Guzalethaaa!

Rhiogur turns to where a golden statue is enshrined and bows his head. He begins to chant.

Rhiogur: I shall let you witness with your own eyes and ears... and talk with Guzaletha himself!

Rhiogur: O hallowed and beloved Allfather, Guzaletha! We lay at your feet... Show yourself to uuus!

A ghastly look on his face, Rhiogur lifts his arm high into the air and prays to the sky.

And as if in response to his prayer, the courtyard is enveloped in white smoke as thunder sounds from above.

Skull: Wh-what's happening?

Reizrit: He's summoning the spirit of Allfather... An evocation.

Balurga: Oh good. We can finally see what the hubbub is about.

Skull: ...

Balurga: What're you getting so nervous for?

Skull: Sh-shut up!

Rhiogur: Hrrrgh... Now, come to me... Come... Come to me...

Suddenly, the believers who had remained quiet up until now join in the chant, offering their prayers to the heavens.

Rhiogur: O hallowed and beloved Allfather, Guzaletha! We lay at your feet... and ask that you show yourself to us!

Rhiogur: Hyaaaeee!

A blinding light flashes before them, dispelling the white smoke that had been hindering their sight.

Rhiogur: Whew...

Skull: Gulp...

Skull and the others narrow their eyes, eager to witness what is about to follow.

Rhiogur: Mwahaha... Mwahahaha! My sons, d-do not be deceived!

Skull & Balurga: Hm?

Rhiogur: We are Chamux, a name that has t-taken the world by storm!

Rhiogur: Every kingdom has c-come to fear us... It will not be long until they yield!

Rhiogur: S-soon... we shall reign... over the entirety of the skies!

Rhiogur: Those who suppress our freedom!

Those who rob us of true freedom!

Rhiogur: Once we have e-expelled these fiends from the skies, we will be able to attain true freedom!

Rhiogur: There is no d-doubt in our belief! There is no m-madness in our conviction! Our f-f-faith... shall persevere!

Skull & Balurga: ...

Lyria: Huh? Um... what did we just see? Was it some sort of impression?

Skull: Wha?

Touched by the words from Guzaletha's spirit, Reizrit and the Chamux disciples break down into tears.

Rhiogur: Look up into the night sky! See how bright the stars shine! How they burn red! These f-f-falling stars will surely guide us.

Rhiogur: Lift your spirits! Together, we must expel the t-traitors that lead us astray with their words!

Chamux Disciples: Heeyaaaw!

Rhiogur's words shake the hearts of his believers, igniting the madness in them once again.

Skull: Hehe, ha, hyahaaa! Oh, come ooon! How is that even close to Allfather?

Whew... That was close. He almost tricked me again.

Balurga: Take a good look. I told you the whole channeling thing was a big, fat lie.

Striding out suddenly from a hidden door, Eustace tosses a broken machine and a nervous-looking Chamux disciple in front of (Captain) and the others.

Eustace: Apparently a machine to add those effects to the channeling ceremony.

Eustace: Well?

Rhiogur's Underling: Y-yeah... I made the smoke... and thunder... come outta this machine...

The other disciples are shaken by the sudden revelation.

Chamux Disciple 7: A-Allfather... Is that true? Did you really... trick us all into believin' a lie?

Skull: Say it loud it clear, you pretender!

Rhiogur: ...

Rhiogur casts a sad gaze at the disciples, his lips curling into a smile.

Rhiogur: My sons... Now is not the time to worry whether everything is real or false!

Rhiogur: If you continue to follow me as you have, all will be at your beckoning. Power! Money! Violence! What more could you ask for?

Rhiogur: This is our chance to finally achieve our aspirations and eradicate the enemy once and for all!
