Reprieve for White Wings
Concerned after Lecia declined a prestigious Crew of Enforcers' award, Monika gives her a day off and enlists (Captain) to help make it an enjoyable one. Their first stop is a cafe, where Lecia refrains from getting the strawberry treat she really wants. Some quick thinking on (Captain)'s part allows Lecia to have the treat regardless. Monika watches on, glad that things worked out but also worried about Lecia's reserved behavior.
One moonlit evening, a certain woman's voice echoes loudly throughout a small restaurant.
Lecia: Ehe... Hehehe... Monikaaa!
Monika: L-Lecia, I think you've had enough to drink! And stop clinging to me like that!
Lecia: Heeey, were you listening to me? Hello?
Monika: Q-quit poking my face!
Lecia: Then I'll just have to poke (Captain)'s instead.
Lecia: Hm? What's wrong? You're going red in the face.
Lecia: What are you looking away for? Don't be like that! Why aren't you paying attention when I'm talking?
Choose: How did things end up like this...
Earlier in the day...
(Captain) and friends, while stopped at an island, happen upon the Crew of Enforcers in the middle of resupplying.
Monika: Since you're here anyway, what do you say to a get-together? Just between us leaders here.
Accepting the invite, (Captain) joins Monika and Lecia for a trip out into town.
Monika: It's been a while since we relaxed in each other's company. We should make the most of this opportunity. Right, Lecia?
Lecia: I agree. Deepening our bonds can only be mutually beneficial!
Monika: Haha, while that's certainly a perk, I think we should focus more on taking a load off.
Lecia: F-fair enough! I shall do my best to relax as much as possible!
Monika: I'm not sure that's the right energy to bring into this...
The three end up taking an afternoon stroll through a shopping area. Not long after they begin, Monika suddenly comes to a halt.
Monika: Oh! That place over there is super-duper famous for its cream puffs!
Lecia: This entire area is known for its sweets. I remember you gushing about it before.
Monika: Y-you didn't have to bring that part up.
Monika: Lecia, would you mind taking these rupies and getting us a few? You can keep the change.
Lecia: Hehe, understood! I'll be right back.
Monika: Now that she's out of earshot...
Monika: (Captain), there's something I'd like to speak with you about.
Monika: You're a sharp one. Yes, it is.
Monika: Wha... D-do I seem like that much of a glutton?
Monika: No, this is about Lecia.

Monika: A few days ago, she was supposed to receive an award for outstanding service.
Monika: It's a particularly rare award, only given to those who have gone above and beyond. Captain Walfrid nominated her himself.
Monika: Frankly, I don't think he could have chosen a better recipient. To command the Fourth Fleet at her age, patrolling and inspecting all those islands, is no easy feat.
Monika: But Lecia declined the honor.
Monika: She was adamant about her refusal, even though she's told me before how she's always dreamed of that award.
Monika: Given the number of things that have happened lately, I understand she's both physically and mentally exhausted... But that can't be the only reason.
Monika: I couldn't stand by and do nothing. So I thought I could give her some time off... and in the middle of my pondering, we spotted your ship in the distance.
With great reluctance, Monika turns to (Captain) with a pleading look.
Monika: Please, (Captain). Could you do what you can to make sure she has fun today?
Understanding the weight of her request, (Captain) agrees without hesitation.
Monika: Thank you. I'm certain you can do what I cannot.
After enjoying their cream puffs, the three stop by a sweets cafe that comes highly endorsed by Monika.
Monika: I'll have the large almond vanilla caramel coffee chocolate cake with extra chocolate chips and whipped cream.
Lecia: That was long enough to be an incantation...
Monika: You can both order whatever you want. It'll be my treat!
Lecia: Then I suppose...
Lecia scans over the menu, before pausing on a nicely colored illustration.
Lecia: A strawberry parfait...
Monika: Oh, a whole heap of strawberries on strawberry sauce and strawberry ice cream... It's perfect for a strawberry lover like you, Lecia!
Lecia: Um...
Employee: Excuse me, are you ready to order?
Monika: Sorry, but not quite yet. We'll let you know when we've decided.
Employee: All right. Just to let you know, today's special is the seasonal fruit tart. I highly recommend it.
Lecia: Oh. In that case...
Lecia: I'll go with that.
Monika: You don't have to rush. What happened to the strawberry parfait?
Lecia: Well... If someone who works here recommends something else, then... surely that's the better option.
Monika: If you're certain.
Monika: (Captain), what about you? Choose whatever you want.
After thinking for a moment, (Captain) points at a certain item on the menu.
Monika: Hehe...
Lecia: (Captain), you...
Not long after, their orders arrive.
Monika: Oho... I'll never get tired of this spectacle.
A magnificent cake is set before Monika, while a colorful fruit tart is placed in front of Lecia. Last but not least, (Captain)'s order comes to the table.
Employee: Thanks for waiting. Here's your mixed strawberry parfait.
Lecia: ...
Lecia: Huh?
Lecia: N-no, I couldn't! It's yours to enjoy.
Choose: I want to try your tart too!
Lecia: Oh... I suppose... I have no reason to say no.
Monika: Very strategic, (Captain)...
After halving and swapping desserts, Lecia takes her first bite of the strawberry parfait.
Lecia: Mm, it's so good...
Lecia: Thanks, (Captain).
Taking a bite of the tart, (Captain) marvels at the explosion of fresh fruity flavor that follows.
Lecia: Oh. (Captain), you've got a bit on your chin.
Lecia: I'll wipe it off for you.
Monika: Haha, seeing you like this, it's almost like you're actual siblings.
Lecia: P-please, Monika! There's no need to tease!
Lecia: Can you believe her, (Captain)? Why, just the other day, she started calling me her big sister as a joke...
Choose: It's nice how close you are.
Lecia: Is that how you see it? It mostly feels like she's just fooling around...
Choose: Can you be my big sister too?
Lecia: Wha... (Captain)! Not you too!

While Lecia and (Captain) chat away, Monika quietly watches from the side.
Monika: Feels like the only time you get to act your age is when eating sweets like this...
Monika: ...
Monika: Hey, were you just going to leave me out of the fun? You're going to make poor ol' Monika feel lonely here!
Putting aside unspoken thoughts for now, Monika joins their lighthearted conversation.
After all, their day out has only just begun.
