The Languid Vagrant
The crew encounters a young lady named Melleau astride a strange beast while going through a mountain pass. Monsters appear as they're getting acquainted. After being rescued, Melleau says she's smitten with (Captain) and joins the crew.
The crew is advancing along a mountain path when something most unexpected happens.
Vyrn: Hey... What is that supposed to be?
Lyria: Huh? What?
???: La dee da!
Lyria: Oh no! She's being chased by monsters! We need to help her!
Vyrn: Wait a second. Kinda looks more like she's actually... leading them.
???: Hm? Oh. Hey there.
As soon as the mysterious young woman notices (Captain) and company, she approaches with obvious interest.
???: Have you guys been checking me out?
???: Is it love at first sight? Or are you more interested in Sachy? That's it, isn't it?
???: ...
Vyrn: Wh-what is that thing?
???: Whoa, the lizard can talk. A red lizard and a blue girl... How about that. Hey, you in the middle. What color are you supposed to be?
???: Sniff, sniff... Not sure about your color, but you sure smell delicious...
Vyrn: Delicious? Between that and the monsters you're leading... D-don't tell me you're some kind of monster!
???: Hm? Leading them?
Monsters: ...
???: Oops, I did it again. Scatter, you guys. Go on now. Shoo, shoo.
Signaled by the languid voice of the young woman, the monsters accompanying her take off and soon vanish from sight.
Lyria: Wow... And just like that, they're gone. You can talk to monsters?
???: I guess so. But that doesn't mean I am one.
Melleau: My name is Melleau. And this shy one in the mask is my partner, Sachy.
Sachy: ...
Melleau: With a pair of fine ears like this, how could you mistake me for a monster? I'm obviously a genuine Erune.
Melleau: Meow... You want to touch them? They're as fluffy as they look.
Vyrn: I got a feeling it's gonna be a real pain talkin' to this one...
Lyria: Whoa! Your ears really are fluffy! I could stroke them all day!
Melleau: I bet you could. My ears are my pride and joy.
Melleau: But shouldn't you be a bit more careful? You're awfully close to someone you just met...
Lyria: Huh?
Vyrn: Wha? What's that supposed to mean! Lyria, get away from her!
Melleau: Hm? Oh, I get it.
Melleau: Sorry about the confusion, but I'm not going to do anything to her.
Melleau: That said, I actually came from a clan known more for gutting people than greeting them.
Melleau: Know of us? Figured you didn't. We're a reclusive clan that lives deep in a forest.
Melleau tells the crew about her clan, which consists only of female warriors.
Melleau: I was even queen for a while... Ah.
Monsters: Grrr!
Vyrn: Uhh... Your monsters are back.
Melleau: So they are.
Melleau: I wouldn't want to bother you, so I guess we'll be leaving.
Lyria: There are more and more monsters coming. Are you sure you're going to be okay?
Melleau: I'll be just fine. These monsters aren't such a bad lot. Right, Sachy?
Sachy: ...
Melleau: What's that? It's not fine? So you say you can't forgive those mushroom monsters... You really hold a grudge, don't you Sachy?
Melleau: Anyway, as you can see, we'll be fine as long as the monsters aren't too worked up, and—
Vyrn: Hey! Behind you! Look out!
Melleau: Hmm?
Cobra: Hisssss!
Melleau: Oooh...
Vyrn: Hey! Wake up already! Hurry up and get out of—
Cobra: Hisssss...
Melleau: Ah...
Vyrn: Not bad, (Captain)! You leveled that snake with one blow!
Lyria: Melleau, are you injured?
Melleau: I...
Lyria: I?
Melleau: I think I'm in love.
Gran is the Main Character
Lyria: What are you saying? Bad kitty! (Captain) is off limits!
Melleau: And why is that?
Lyria: Because... um... Just because! Stay away from (Captain)!
Melleau: Hmmm... Okay, I'll bide my time then.
Djeeta is the Main Character
Vyrn: Huh? What are you saying?
Melleau: You know, I actually have two older sisters...
Melleau: So why don't you call me big sister? You know, just for a change of pace.
Melleau: So, (Captain), you're the captain of this crew. That'll work out just fine.
Melleau: How about I go with you on your journey?
Melleau: So you just accept anyone who comes along? How wonderfully open-minded you are.
Melleau: I'll take that as an emphatic yes.

Sachy: ...
Melleau, a young woman accompanied by a mysterious beast, is welcomed into the crew by (Captain) and company.
The free-spirited young woman will prove a valuable ally, but they'll soon find she brings more trouble than they expect.
