Metera's Guide to Good Times

Metera heads to the beach in search of a decent guy, but instead finds Anthuria. After hearing Anthuria describe her difficulties in becoming more intimate with (Captain), Metera decides to show her a few tricks and secretly calls (Captain) over for Anthuria's practice session. Some hours later, Metera is on the hunt again when she is approached by (Captain). Tired of sifting through lousy guys, she joins (Captain) for some fun instead.

(Captain) and crew travel to Auguste to fulfill a cargo delivery request.
Once their work is done, the captain gives everyone time off to enjoy the summer Auguste sun.
The first thing Metera does after changing into her swimsuit is go for a walk along the beach.
Metera: Surely there's at least one man out here with taste.
Metera: I even got myself a new swimsuit for the occasion. But why is there nobody here?
Metera: (Sigh... I would've gone with the others on their shopping trip if I'd known the beach was this dead.)
Man 3: Hey, did you hear the news?
Man 2: Sure did! We gotta get over there before we miss our chance!
Woman 1: I can't wait to see her up close and in the flesh! Just need to figure out a way to slide up right next to her...
Wearing similarly dazzled expressions, the few people on the beach make a mad dash in the same direction.
Metera: (Wonder what all the commotion is about.)
Metera: (Maybe I'll go have a little look-see. Not like there are any hotties waiting around here anyway.)
Following the crowd, Metera comes across an even bigger mass of people smushed together.
Anthuria: I said enough! Don't bother me while I'm on vacation!
Man 3: You're not busy? That's perfect! Hang out with us!
Man 1: Get your head outta your rear! She's coming with us, not you!
Woman 1: Out of the way, fellas! She's got no time for flirts like you! I'm obviously the better company!
Anthuria is the only distressed voice in the throng of people.
None of her overzealous fans pays her protests any attention as they push and shove to get closer to her.
Metera: So this is why the beach was empty... They all came flocking over here.
Metera: Huh.
Metera: ((Captain) did say Anthuria was pretty popular.)
Metera: (Sigh... At this rate, I'll never find a decent guy. May as well try again later.)
Anthuria: Ow! Stop that! Don't pull on me!
Metera: ...
Metera: Ugh, fine! This is gonna eat at me later if I don't do something...
Heaving an exasperated sigh, Metera takes flight.
Metera: (I spy with my little eye... Anthuria right in the middle of it.)
Metera: (I won't be able to land near her with all those people in the way.)
Anthuria: I told you to stop! Ouch!
Metera: Time to get a little creative.
Metera raises her magic bow and fires a volley, making sure not to actually hit anyone.
Man 1: Eek!
Woman 1: Eep! Where'd these arrows come from?
The crazed fans scramble away in panic as the volley lands around Anthuria.
Metera: That girl's with me. Keep your hands off her, or my next shot won't miss.
Man 1: D-did you just fly over here—
Anthuria: Metera?
Metera: Yep, that's me. We can chat once we've put this crowd behind us.
Grabbing Anthuria's hand, Metera leads her through the throng of people.
Man 2: H-hey, don't go rushing off just yet! You said you're with Anthuria, yeah?
Metera: So what if I am?
Man 2: Then why don't you two come hang with us?
Man 2: We've got the right number of people for a double date.
Metera: I think we're good.
Man 3: Give us a chance. Promise it'll be fun.
Metera: Mm... Seems like you won't get it unless I spell it out for you.
Metera: When I said "we're good," I meant that we can do better than a couple of clowns like you.
Metera: Now get out of our way, or there'll be a hole through that empty skull of yours.
Metera draws her bow and aims it between the man's eyes.
Man 2: Eep! All right, all right!
Metera: Anthuria, you ready to go?
Metera: Ugh, people started gathering again while I was wasting my breath... They'll follow us around all day if we go by foot.
Metera: Can you believe this garbage? I've had it up to here...
With another exasperated sigh, Metera scoops Anthuria into her arms.
Anthuria: Wh-what are you doing? Metera—
Metera: Shush, or you'll bite your tongue.
Rising into the air, Metera flies toward a space clear of riffraff.
Metera: Not a soul in sight around here. I'm setting you down now.
Anthuria: Th-thanks, Metera. You saved me.
Metera: Don't worry about it. I just happened to be in the neighborhood.
Metera: Are people always chasing after you like that? Must be tough being famous.
Anthuria: Sigh... It is. Normal fans don't cause me any problems, but...
Anthuria: There are some that cross the line, trying to use force or money to make me theirs.
Metera: I get what that's like at least. I always have idiots trying to woo me.
Metera: I'm sick of it, honestly.
Metera: It's the same type of guy every time, I swear...
Metera: Ugh, why is it so hard to find a man who actually knows how to have a good time?
Anthuria: D-does... that mean... you've already had...
Metera: What are you blushing for?
Anthuria: You spend a lot of your time... with men, right?
Metera: Mostly when the mood strikes me. It's pretty fun when the right guy comes along.
Anthuria: I see...
Metera: Mm? Don't tell me you've never had that kind of fun before.
Anthuria: I... I haven't. Not even once...
Metera: Huh. Can't say I expected that, considering how popular you are.
Metera: Though maybe I should've. Those fans of yours were the exact opposite of a good time.
Metera: And I guess you've only had eyes for (Captain) too. Plus you seem pretty innocent.
Anthuria: Ah... Well, excuse me for being inexperienced!
Metera: I never said it was a bad thing.
Anthuria: I just... I used to be so focused on only my dancing. I wasn't interested in being with anyone else.
Anthuria: The dancers I knew were also the same way.
Anthuria: But then I met (Captain) and fell in love... This is the first time I've thought about giving myself to someone else.
Anthuria: I wouldn't want to have that kind of fun with anyone but (Captain)—
Metera: Uh-huh, yeah, okay, I get it. Sheesh, you're gonna give me a toothache with a story that sweet.
Metera: Why don't you just put your moves on and go for it if you like our captain that much?
Anthuria: It's not like I haven't tried before... My attempts all ended in failure...
Anthuria's shoulders slump as the truth is revealed.
Metera: (Seeing her like this reminds me of Sutera when she's down.)
Metera: (Now that I think about it, they've got a lot in common.)
Metera: (They're both very straightforward and serious about their feelings...)
Metera: (They keep everything to themselves until they reach their breaking points...)
Metera: ...
Metera: (Sigh... Fine. I'll help her out.)
Metera: (Just watching her flounder would kill me a little on the inside. Besides, this could be entertaining.)
Metera: How about getting a little practice in? We could go after a few guys together.
Metera: I know some techniques I could pass along to you.
Anthuria: Huh?
Metera: Feel free to say no. It's not like you absolutely need a strategy to grab someone's attention.
Metera: But it's fun to throw a little spice into the mix, don't you think?
Anthuria: An experienced person like you... offering your techniques...
Anthuria: Do you think if I used them... I could get even closer to (Captain)?
Metera: That would mostly depend on you. Still, it'd probably help to learn a new trick or two.
Anthuria: Then... Would you mind teaching me?
Anthuria: I would do anything to bridge the gap between (Captain) and I...
Metera: You don't need to tell me twice. Let's get started—
Metera: Well, after I do one thing first.
Aiming her magic bow at the sky, Metera seemingly fires at the clouds.
Anthuria: What are you doing?
Metera: Just a little prep. Don't worry about it.
Metera: Now come on, let's go.
Anthuria: Okay!
Metera: See that guy over there? Watch how I grab his attention.
Metera: Hey there, handsome. Wanna have a little fun together?
Man 4: Uh, are... you talking to me?
Metera: Of course. You seem like you know how to have a good time.
Metera sidles up to the man and brushes against his arm, showing off her curves as she moves.
Man 4: I-I'm down if you are!
Metera: Yeah? Thanks, that's all I needed.
Man 4: Wh-what? But... weren't we...
Metera: Sorry... I realized you weren't my type as soon as I got a closer look at you.
Man 4: Waaah! I knew it was too good to be true!
Utterly distraught, the man flees from the sandy beach.
Metera: And that's how you do it. Easy, right?
Anthuria: O-oh, gosh... There's no way I can be so charming...
Anthuria: Or be bold enough to touch someone like that...
Metera: Guess that's to be expected, considering how innocent you are.
Anthuria: That aside... Are you sure you shouldn't go after him? He was crying...
Metera: That wasn't the classiest thing I've ever done, but it's probably fine. It was just to give you an idea of what to do.
Metera: Besides, if he was actually to my taste, I would've gone for it. Sadly for him, well...
Metera: I only say yes to the real pleasers!
Anthuria: F-fair enough...
Metera: Not that this part matters to you, what with your eyes focused only on (Captain).
Anthuria: A-ahhh...
Metera: Anyway, it's your turn now. See that shorty over there? Try working your charm and see how you do.
Anthuria: This is all too soon for me! There's no way I can h-hit on someone else!
Anthuria: P-plus it feels like I'm betraying (Captain)...
Metera: Practice is just that—practice. You wanted the firsthand experience, didn't you?
Anthuria: B-but...
Metera: Make up a reason and leave if you actually manage to catch the other person's attention. You don't need to commit.
Metera: And if they give you trouble, I'll be here to bail you out.
Anthuria: ...
Metera: What you learn today could come in handy when you manage to have that special moment with (Captain), you know?
Anthuria: I suppose you're right... O-okay, I'll give it a try.
Anthuria: This is... for my relationship with (Captain)...
Anthuria: Um... Excuse me. Are you free at the moment?
Anthuria: Would you... like to spend some time with me?
  1. Sure.

Choose: Sure.

Anthuria: H-huh? (Captain)? What are you doing here?
Anthuria: This isn't what it looks like! I'm not practicing ways to capture your attention...
Anthuria: That's not to say I don't want your attention, but it's not like I'm asking for it either, I... Oh gosh...
Flushed completely red, Anthuria grows weak at the knees.
(Captain) barely catches her before she fully sinks to the ground.
Anthuria: Oh, I must be dreaming... This has to be a nightmare... Good night...
So saying, Anthuria closes her eyes and passes out.
Lyria: A-Anthuria!
Metera: My bad, sorry! Looks like that was a smidge too much for her.
Metera: This ended a lot worse than I thought it'd go.
Vyrn: Sigh... What're you tryin' to pull here, Ms. Shameless?
Vyrn: You even went outta your way to send us a message by arrow.
Vyrn pulls out the scrap of paper Metera had attached to an arrow and shot their way.
On it is written, "Do your favorite gal a favor and let Anthuria hit on you. Thanks!"
Metera: I couldn't leave Anthuria to struggle with her lack of experience by herself.
Metera: So I thought I'd give her a little push towards becoming an adult.
Metera: But... Not in a way that would sully her feelings.
Metera: Which is why I turned to (Captain) for a hand.
Vyrn: Huh. Not every day you help someone out by choice. Usually you'd fly away if somethin' annoyed ya.
Metera: Normally I would, but she reminds me of Sutera somehow, so...
Vyrn: She does?
Metera: They've got plenty in common. Like how they're both straightforward and serious about their feelings.
Metera: Anyhoo, I did what I could. You can look after Anthuria from here, right, (Captain)?
Metera: Keep her company, won't you? She asked you very nicely earlier, after all.
Vyrn: Hold up, where are you goin'?
Metera: To the beach to find me a tall glass of water. Where else?
Metera spends the next few hours combing the beach, to no avail.
Metera: Sigh... Can't believe there's not a single decent guy around...
  1. Why don't you hang with me then?

Choose: Why don't you hang with me then?

Metera: Hmm, pass. You're gonna need a better pickup line than—
Metera: Wait, (Captain)?
Metera: Did you just try to make a move on me?
Metera: Or is this payback for earlier?
With a sheepish grin, (Captain) nods.
Metera: Cheeky one, aren't you. Where's Anthuria? She okay now?
  1. I just finished hanging with her.

Choose: I just finished hanging with her.

Metera: Huh, is that right.
Metera: I'll take you up on that offer then.
Metera: I'm tired of sorting through the trash around here anyway.
Metera: Since you sounded so confident, hotshot, you better make this date worthwhile.
  1. Y-you got it!

Choose: Y-you got it!

Metera: Let's see how much you've grown.
Metera: Impress me, and you might just earn yourself a nice reward.
Metera: One that might get your heart pounding...
Lips curving upward, Metera grabs the captain's hand.
(Captain) can only return her smile with a nervous laugh.
