Wavering of the Stars

The crew bumps into Nezha at an antique bookshop. At a restaurant later, they read a picture book picked up from the bookshop. Nezha grows interested in the crew and, upon realizing there is a lot he has yet to see, decides to join them.

Vyrn: Heyo! We've brought the requested documents!
Bookshop Owner: Good day, skyfarers! I've been waiting for you!
The crew delivers a shipment of goods to an antique bookshop in town.
Lyria: Wow... The walls are filled with books, all the way up to the ceiling!
Vyrn: Hahah! You're gonna turn yourself upside down if you try to look up any further than that, Lyria!
Lyria: Ah, right! Thanks for bringing me back.
As Lyria's eyes light up at the mountains of books at the shop...
(Captain) pats her on the shoulder, suggesting she go look around while they confirm the delivered documents.
Lyria: Would that really be okay?
Vyrn: Sure! Me and (Captain) can handle business. You take it easy in the meantime.
Lyria: Thank you!
Bookshop Owner: Now, if you'll follow me to the back room, Captain.
Lyria: I'll be right here!
Left to her own devices, Lyria's eyes wander around the bookstore.
Lyria: Hm, I thought it'd be fun to look around, but there's so many books that I don't even know where to start...
Lyria: Some of these books are so old that I'm afraid they'd fall apart if I touched them.
Lyria: The ones in this corner look really difficult...
Lyria takes her time walking around, taking in the unique scent given off by the volumes of antiquated paper.
Lyria: That book has such a beautiful spine...
Lyria reaches out to a tome above that catches her eye.
Lyria: Ngh! I can't reach it!
Lyria: Eek!
???: Careful.
Lyria: S-sorry...
Lyria: Nezha!
Nezha: Are you okay? Let's see...
Nezha: Was it this book you wanted?
Lyria: Yes, that's it! Thank you, Nezha.
Nezha: "The Twin Stars," huh? Seems to be a picture book.
Lyria: Uh-huh, the beautiful cover caught my attention.
Vyrn: All right! We're done in the back room!
Vyrn: Oh, look, it's Nezha—living up to his reputation as a bookworm!
Nezha: Something like that.
Lyria: Ah, right, you like to read in your free time.
The crew came to know Nezha after an incident on a war-torn island revolving around Medusa's older sisters.
Lyria: Um, excuse us, but...
Satyr: Hehe... Go ahead and introduce us already!
Medusa: Huff... I suppose if there's no avoiding it.
Medusa: These are my acquaintances, Satyr, Nezha, and Baal.
Satyr: Pleased to meetcha! We're Meddy's primal pals!
Satyr: I'm so glad you've found some new skyfarer friends to get along with, Meddy!
Medusa: Of all the—We're not friends!
Nezha: You depend on their help, so you called them to this island, correct?
Medusa: No! That's not it at all! Grrr!
The crew has been keeping in touch with the primal pals even after the incident.
Vyrn: By the way, Lyria, what's that book you got in your hand?
Lyria: Oh, the pretty cover stood out to me. I had trouble taking it off the upper shelf, so Nezha helped me.
Bookshop Owner: Ah, an old picture book. I believe that one's out of print. You're welcome to keep it if you'd like.
Lyria: Okay, let me get some rupies...
Bookshop Owner: No, no, please consider it a token of my gratitude. I'm sure it'll be happy in your possession.
With their assignment completed, the crew is now enjoying a meal at a restaurant in town.
Lyria: Hehe, I'm starving!
Nezha: It's rather crowded... It may take some time until our food is ready.
Lyria: Maybe we can look at the picture book together while waiting.
Vyrn: Sure. What's it about?
Lyria: It's called "The Twin Stars."
Setting the book's beautiful binding on the table, Lyria flips open its pages.
Lyria: "Once upon a time, there sat two stars in the corner of the clear night sky."
Lyria: "As twins, they took on the same color and shape and were always together."
Lyria: "There wasn't a second they were apart from each other."
Nezha: These are beautiful pictures. I love the color of the sky.
Vyrn: You make for an awesome narrator, Lyria!
Lyria: Ehehe, thanks.
Lyria: "The heavens shook one day, causing one star to fall."
Lyria: "The remaining star, left to itself, shed tears of solitude."
Lyria: "It was so, so, so lonely..."
Lyria: "Without the other star, the forlorn sky was no longer a place worth living in."
The picture book tells a tale of the lone star going on a journey in search of its twin and companion.
Lyria: Ahh...
Lyria lets out a sigh as she traces her finger across the star on the page.
Lyria: I can understand how that might feel.
Lyria: If (Captain) were lost to me, I would probably respond in the same way.
Lyria: I wouldn't stop looking for (Captain) no matter how long it takes.
Vyrn: For starters, you two are connected by a life link.
Lyria: Mm-hm, we're two halves of a beating heart.
Nezha: What's this all about?
Vyrn: Snake Girl didn't tell you anything about it?
Lyria: You see, when (Captain) and I first met...
Lyria and Vyrn recount the beginning of their adventure in Zinkenstill.
Nezha: So you kept (Captain) alive by use of a spiritual lifeline, I see.
Lyria: (Captain) saved me first. I was repaying the favor...
Nezha: Fascinating...
Nezha: I suppose there are still many things I do not know of in this world.
Vyrn: Well, we're not actually sure how exactly it works either.
Lyria: It's okay. What matters is that we're able to travel together forever and ever.
Vyrn: Hahah! No argument there!
Nezha: Travel... Fitting for a skyfarer crew. Have you decided on your next destination?
Lyria: We have to pay a visit to the Knickknack Shack first...
Lyria: Then we have a monster clean-up assignment after that.
Nezha: Let me come with you.
Lyria: Huh? You'd like to join us, Nezha?
Nezha: Would that be a problem?
Lyria: Not at all! We'd be happy to have your help!
Vyrn: You're more than welcome, bud!
Nezha: Glad to be part of the team.
Vyrn: We'll take you to the Grandcypher after gettin' some grub!
Lyria: That reminds me, it looks like you didn't get to buy anything at the bookstore...
Lyria: I hope we didn't interrupt your time there.
Nezha: It's fine. My real purpose in coming to town was for art supplies rather than books.
Vyrn: Art supplies? You like to doodle stuff?
Nezha: Yes. It's another hobby I've picked up lately in addition to reading.
Lyria: Ooh, a new hobby!
Nezha: In my last letter to Medusa, I included some drawings.
Nezha: But she told me to keep working at it.
Nezha takes out a sketchbook and begins to scribble something.
Lyria: Um, is that...
Vyrn: Some kinda caterpillar monster?
Nezha: No, it's you.
Vyrn: Ack! Me?
Nezha: Hm... Perhaps your wings should be a little larger.
Vyrn: Er, I think you've got a bigger problem than the wings. To start with, I ain't no caterpillar...
Vyrn: Well, best of luck either way.
Nezha: Thank you. Having a ship will allow me to travel far and wide, providing much-needed inspiration for my new hobby.
Brushing aside the many baffled looks at his unique style of art, Nezha smiles, glad to partake in this new venture.
