Sandy Freedom

Having spent some time as an albacore, Ragazzo now feels compassion for sea creatures. He saves a baby hermit crab from danger one day and becomes fist pals with its parent.

Ragazzo: ...
While listening to the ebb and flow of the waves, Ragazzo recalls the uncanny incident that had occurred just days prior.
In addition to people and albacore switching bodies, a number of bizarre sea creatures had also attacked the populace.
Ragazzo: It's a riot looking back at it now, but boy did I freak out when it was my turn to be an albacore...
Ragazzo: Your "freedom" really knows no bounds, huh, Auguste.
???: Whoo! Caught a big one!
Ragazzo: ...!
Ragazzo turns around to find an angler proudly displaying his catch.
Fisherman: Hm, should I grill it with salt or simmer it in soy sauce? Gah... Just thinking about it makes my mouth water!
Ragazzo: ...
Ragazzo feels his chest tighten just from watching the fish flopping on the rocks.
Ragazzo: (This world's all about survival of the fittest and finding your place on the food chain... The idea's practically been drilled into my bones.)
Ragazzo: (Yet here I am feeling sorry for the fish! The hell is wrong with me?)
Ragazzo: Uuooogh!
Fisherman: Hey there, buddy... Everything all right?
Ragazzo: Ah, yeah... All good here. My bad, didn't mean to startle ya.
Fisherman: Heheh... Must be the youthful energy in you.
Ragazzo: Huh?
Fisherman: I was young once too, you know. Back then, I'd cry out towards the sea after every heartbreak. Ah, the memories...
Ragazzo: Yeah? Heh, you don't say...
Fisherman: But aren't you here on vacation? Then take this chance to forgot your past escapades in romance and just focus on living it up this summer!
Fisherman: Like them over there!
The angler points to (Captain) and company enjoying themselves by the shoreline.
Ragazzo: (Yep, they're definitely in vacation mode, all right. )
Ragazzo: (Not like I can enter the seawater with these prosthetics for arms though...)
Ragazzo: (I'd never hear the end of it from Nicholas and Galadar if they found out I went for a swim.)
Chuckling to himself, Ragazzo gently strokes his prosthetics.
Youth: Gwah!
Ragazzo: Crap! I'm comin' to save ya!
Ragazzo: Phew... You alive, kiddo?
Youth: Cough...
Yeah!
Fisherman: Aah, I cannot thank you enough for saving my son! Bless you!
Ragazzo: Yeah, no problem... You might wanna keep a closer eye on your kid from now on though.
Fisherman: You're absolutely right... I'll do better.
Ragazzo: Don't forget to watch out for yourself too. These waters are pretty deep.
Youth: Hey... I found this really neat hermit crab by the rocks!
The youth opens up his hands to reveal a small hermit crab wearing a striped shell.
Ragazzo: Cool. That's not something you see often.
Fisherman: Really now! Do you want a repeat of the recent incident in Auguste? Let that hermit crab go at once!
Fisherman: Profits have plummeted since there's so many of the sea creatures lately. Hate to keep repeating myself, but it's best to steer clear of 'em at all costs—
Ragazzo calms down the incensed angler, then speaks to the boy.
Ragazzo: Listen, kid. No matter how rare the hermit crab might be...
Ragazzo: Imagine how sad your pops would be if you drowned trying to catch one.
Ragazzo: What's more, the one in your hands is still a teeny, tiny tot. It needs its mom and dad, so I say let it go.
Youth: ...
Ragazzo: Imagine if you were the crab and got separated from your dad. That'd suck big-time, wouldn't it?
Youth: Okay, mister... Can you return the crab to the sea?
Ragazzo: Sure. Give it here.
Ragazzo takes the baby crab and gently pats the boy on the head.
Fisherman: My, what profound kindness you show even to these bizarre sea creatures. A gentleman like you will surely have your love life back on track soon enough!
Fisherman: Here, please accept this fish as a token of my appreciation.
Ragazzo: Nah, that's all yours. Enjoy your family dinner tonight.
The angler and his son bow their heads in gratitude before taking their leave.
Colos. Hermit Baby: ...
Ragazzo: Heh, saved your life back there, eh? I'll get you back to the sea right away. Hang tight for a sec.
Ragazzo washes off the seawater from his prosthetics with water from a canteen.
Ragazzo: That oughta take care of the rust...
Ragazzo: Welp, I managed to save a kid and a crab. That more than makes up for it.
The moment he makes to return the baby hermit crab to its natural habitat, the water's surface begins bubbling vigorously.
Colos. Hermit Crab: ...!
Ragazzo: Whoa!
Ragazzo: Man, you scared the crap outta me!
Colos. Hermit Crab: ...!
Ragazzo: Wait a sec... Why do I get the feeling I'm being thought of as a kidnapper?
Ragazzo: Baby crab, any chance you can put in a good word for me? Let your parent know I saved ya.
Colos. Hermit Baby: ...
Ragazzo: Damn! All that whimperin' is only making me look more like the bad guy!
Colos. Hermit Crab: ...!
Ragazzo: Hold on! Let's talk this through! I swear it's a misunderstanding!
Ragazzo: Use your brain, pal! Why would I save your kid if I wanted to fight you!
Colos. Hermit Crab: ...!
Ragazzo: Oof, you pack a real punch... Geez, cool your jets already!
Ragazzo: We can come to an understanding if we just try! But you've gotta be willing to listen too!
Ragazzo brushes off the rapid flurry of claw strikes while trying to explain himself.
He appears to have succeeded, as the creature puts an early end to its assault.
Ragazzo: You... understand me?
Colos. Hermit Crab: ...
The two briefly gaze at each other in silence.
The parent crab then offers a courteous bow before taking off to the seas with its child.
Ragazzo: Did the crab actually just bow at me?
Ragazzo: Hehe... Guess that means we communicated not with words but with our fists!
Ragazzo: And that makes us fist pals!
Ragazzo: Whoo-hoo-hoo!
Though they share not a common tongue, the mortal and creature manage to communicate in earnest.
Relishing in the Auguste miracle that has taken place this day, Ragazzo shouts with great joy.
