Silence

Seox grows concerned about the Six-Ruin Fist's true objective and, together with (Captain), tries to force the gauntlet to speak, but it doesn't. While (Captain) looks after the weapon for a few days, it finally breaks its silence and implies that Seox is worthy of its power before saying no more.

Seox: ...
Seox: It looks more or less the same.
Seox mutters to himself as he stares at a golden gauntlet buried within one of the Grandcypher's storage rooms.
The Six-Ruin Fist is a legendary weapon said to be powerful enough to tear the heavens and pierce the stars.
After failing to manipulate Seox, the weapon became unresponsive, and it has been interred among old boxes ever since.
Six-Ruin Fist: Go ahead and put me on. My powers are a perfect match for your bloodstained hands.
Six-Ruin Fist: Wield me and embrace my power.
Seox: You wouldn't stop pestering me with your incessant demands.
Seox: What is it that you want? What do you hope to achieve by finding a wielder?
Lyria: Oh, there you are, Seox!
The Eternal hears the patter of footsteps behind him. He turns away from the weapon to see who called him.
Vyrn: Had a feelin' you'd be off doing your own thing again! What's the haps?
Seox: It's nothing. I just wanted to check on something.
Seox gazes at his hands, and he clams up. (Captain), Lyria, and Vyrn look at each other with concern.
Lyria: Um, does it have anything to do with the Six-Ruin Fist?
Seox: Yeah... Guess I never told you guys what happened, did I?
Seox: Remember that time I took the gauntlet and fled the ship?
Seox: Well, that night I heard its voice.
Lyria: You mean it talked?
Vyrn: I didn't know weapons had mouths...
Seox: I understand your skepticism.
Seox: Believe me, I questioned my own sanity when it first occurred.
Seox: Nevertheless, it's the only possible explanation.
Vyrn: Okay. So what'd it say to you?
Seox: It told me to slip my hand in, seize power, and bring about destruction.
Seox: If I refused, it would entice (Captain) instead.
The captain gives a knowing nod, as if the gauntlet's underhanded approach comes as no surprise.
Vyrn: That sounds pretty spooky. I get why you'd wanna keep tabs on the thing.
Seox: Exactly. I was hoping to find answers about what it is and what it wants.
Seox: But that seems moot considering I feel nothing coming from the gauntlet anymore.
Vyrn: Well... I'm no expert, but maybe it's moping from bein' stuffed in a dark room?
Lyria: So if we moved it to somewhere brighter and more cheerful, it might suddenly wake up.
Seox: Hm... I'm not sure how much of the outside world it can perceive, but some kind of stimulus could elicit a response.
Vyrn: Experiment time! Let's bring it outside!
Lyria: Good morning! Rise and shine!
Lyria: Oh... No answer...
Vyrn: Drat. So it'll take more than just fresh air...
After trying several ideas to awaken the Six-Ruin Fist, the crew becomes pessimistic with every failed attempt.
Seox: It said it was looking for a champion. Then maybe I should put it on...
Seox: (Captain), would you mind being my sparring partner?
  1. I won't pull any punches.
  2. You owe me one.

Choose: I won't pull any punches.

Seox: Yeah, that's fine. A slap fight isn't going to make it stir anyway.

Choose: You owe me one.

Seox: Sorry, (Captain). All I do is keep asking for favors.
Seox: Don't hold back. A slap fight isn't going to make it stir.

Seox: So let's leave nothing on the table.
Seox: Here I come!
Seox: Kiieeeii!
The match is a fierce exhibition of two pugilists matching each other blow for blow.
Both fighters connect simultaneously with body blows, forcing them to catch their breaths.
Seox: Phew... Let's call it a draw for today.
Lyria: You two had me so nervous the entire time! I had no idea when you'd stop!
Lyria: And the Six-Ruin Fist still hasn't said anything...
Seox: If it were only resting, we should've seen a reaction by now, even a small one.
Seox berates the weapon covering his hand. Meanwhile, looking at the gleaming metal glove gives (Captain) an idea.
  1. Can I see it for a sec?

Choose: Can I see it for a sec?

Seox: You're not thinking about wearing it, are you?
(Captain) is curious to see if the gauntlet will speak to someone other than Seox.
Seox: No, bad idea. I told you before, it's after something.
Seox: One wrong move, and you could be facing peril. If that happens, I—
  1. I've got nothing to fear with you here.

Choose: I've got nothing to fear with you here.

(Captain) trusts Seox to jump in and stop the weapon if it tries anything funny.
The Eternal doesn't speak for a while, but with (Captain)'s stare digging into him, he sighs in defeat.
Seox: Fine. I won't argue when your mind's made up. Take it.
Seox: But you tell me the instant something feels wrong. Fair enough?
Several days go by.
There's no immediate reaction from the Six-Ruin Fist after (Captain) takes ownership of the weapon.
(Captain) decides to expose the fist to action by undertaking a monster hunting request with Vyrn and Lyria.
Monster: Groooar!
???: Noisy...
Vyrn: (Captain)? What's up, buddy?
  1. I heard a voice.

Choose: I heard a voice.

Vyrn: You did? I didn't hear anything... What about you, Lyria?
Lyria: I didn't hear anything either... Maybe it was the wind?
Lyria and Vyrn look around for anything that could've been the source of the sound. Finally they hear it for themselves.
Six-Ruin Fist: So damn noisy. I can't stand it.
Vyrn: Whoa! Who said that!
Lyria: Do you think it's the voice Seox was talking about?
The trio have never seen the weapon act this way, and it leaves them speechless.
Six-Ruin Fist: As I suspected, you aren't fit for my power. It has to be him.
Vyrn: Uh... By him do you mean Seox?
Six-Ruin Fist: ...
The gauntlet falls silent again, offering no response to Vyrn's inquiry.
