Societte's Wish

Societte is teaching You some dances on the deck when they are joined by Yuel and Kou. Suddenly, a giant fox appears and kidnaps Societte before anyone can resist. After Lyria confirms that the fox is, in fact, a primal beast, the crew sets out to rescue Societte by tracing the power of Ninetails.

???: Sis Societte!
A small figure shoots toward Societte.
Truth be told, as soon as You saw Societte, the young Erune flew at her big sister like a multi-tailed cannonball.
Societte's big ears and tail stand on end as she catches You in midair.
Societte: Oomph! What's going on?
You: Ehehe... So warm... This is really comfortable...
Societte: Hehe. Looking for some attention?
You: Oops! Whenever I see you, I suddenly get the urge to go in for a big hug...
Societte: That's okay. I don't mind the unexpected squeezes. There, there.
You: Ehehe...
You: Wait, that's not what I came here for! Teach me some dances, Sis Societte!
Societte grants the girl's wish, and the two begin dancing on the deck.
Societte: ...
Blue flames accentuate Societte's every move, following her steps like an obedient dog follows its master.
Her dignified dancing can thaw the coldest hearts of those who have suffered much hardship.
You: Okay. I think I get it. Maybe.
You: Something like this?
Societte: Ooh... Nicely done. And so quickly too. You're very talented, You.
You: Nah, I wouldn't say that. Your teaching style makes everything easy to remember.
You: Instead of going at regular speed, you slowed down so I could work out the steps.
You: Otherwise I'd never be able to remember so many things this fast! Sis Societte is the real genius!
Societte: Aw, you're such a good girl.
Societte: By the way, why did you come to me? Kou and Yuel are around too.
You: Actually Bro Kou teaches me all the time! We're always dancing together. As for Sis Yuel... Yeah, she teaches me sometimes.
You: But Sis Societte is the best! I love how super nice you are!
Societte: Gasp! You're just the sweetest little thing, you know that?
Societte happily tousles You's hair.
You: Sis Societte... You know I'm ticklish...
Though not related by blood, that doesn't stop the pair from acting like sisters. They have no idea two others are spying on them.
Yuel: Grr...
Kou: What's with the pouting?
Yuel: This is unacceptable.
Kou: Sigh...
Yuel: Don't sigh at me, buster! What's with the "smack my head" attitude?
Kou: I-I didn't even say anything...
Kou: But part of me does think you're making a mountain out of a molehill.
Yuel: And the truth comes out! I love it when you're honest!
Kou: You're impossible to read...
Yuel: Hey, that's not the point! It's about what You said! Only comin' to me sometimes doesn't cut it!
Yuel: Why won't she ask me to teach her more often, especially when my kindness knows no bounds?
Kou: That's because—
You: That's because Sis Yuel loses interest real easily.
Yuel: Yowza! Where did ya pop out from! How'd ya know I was peepin'?
You: You're talking loud enough for the whole ship to hear...
Societte: To get more to the point, what's this about losing interest?
You: See, I was practicing with her this one time...
You: And suddenly she says, "Wowie, look at that exotic butterfly! After it!" That was the last I saw of her that day...
Kou: How old are you again?
Yuel: I told ya I was gonna chase after it, didn't I? It had such unique colors, not to mention a horn on its head!
Societte: Wow, a horn? I wish I could have seen it...
Kou: She's just like her...
You: Besides, Sis Yuel gets a bit... hands-on, and it's kinda embarrassing. Practicing with her once in a while is good enough for me.
Yuel: I-it's called bonding, okay? How's it any different from Societte givin' ya head pats!
Kou: Yuel's personal training can get too personal...
Yuel: Lies! 'Sides, if that's what ya think, then it's your mind that's in the gutter!
Kou: What! I'm as innocent as can be!
Yuel: Waah... Societte! Kou and You are being mean to me! I need yer support!
Societte: Ahaha... There, there.
All in all, today is a peaceful day like any other. However...
Yuel: Mm? Why'd it get dark all of a sudden?
Something arrives that threatens to shatter that peace.
A large figure descends on the deck, grabbing the Erunes' attention.
The uninvited visitor stares at You and Societte.
Yuel: It's a humongo fox! Don't tell me Ninetails is back again!
Kou: No, this one feels different. But if it's not Ninetails, then who could it be?
You: Um, isn't it staring real hard at Societte?
Societte: Huh? At me? But I've never met that big fox before...
???: Such magnificent dancing... It has to be you... Has to be...
???: I need you...
Societte: Huh?
In an instant, the fox springs forward and captures Societte in its gigantic mouth.
It then takes to the sky before anyone can say a word.
You: Sis Societte!
Yuel: What the hay! Stop! Where're ya takin' Societte!
You: Lousy stinking fox! I'll burn you down!
You: Void Dance!
The girl slashes the air with both of her hands, and her attack morphs into an indigo flame.
The flame stops in midair, elongating into a giant fiery pillar that chases after the fox absconding with Societte.
Yuel: Crimson Dance: Yugetsu!
Kou: Ebon Dance: Kage-Zakura.
But before the pillar can reach its target, the flames summoned by Yuel and Kou extinguish You's fire.
You: What are you guys doing! Go for the fox, not my fire!
Kou: No, we made the right call.
Yuel: Look, I totally get how ya feel right now, but if ya burn that fox to a crisp, it'll drag Societte to the bottom of the sky with it!
You: Gasp! I'm such a dummy! What was I thinking!
You: Krrrk... I let my emotions get the best of me... I'm sorry...
Yuel softly pats the saddened You on the head.
Yuel: It's all right. Not your fault. Blame everythin' on that dumb fox.
You: Well, what'll we do now? It's already flown away and disappeared!
Kou: First calm down. We can search for the auras of Societte's sacred treasure and Ninetails's power. And by "we" I mean You.
Kou: Once You picks up the trail, all we have to do is follow it.
You: Oh, you're right!
Kou: The thing that worries me, though, is that I couldn't feel any malice or animosity coming from the fox...
Kou: I have no idea what it plans to do with Societte, but we need to hurry.
Kou: It didn't kidnap her without a reason.
Lyria: I'm sure I sensed a primal beast—
Vyrn: Hm? Didn't Societte say she'd be out on the deck?
Yuel: (Captain)! Glad you're here! You gotta hear this!
Yuel explains to (Captain) and the others what just happened.
Lyria: Societte was kidnapped by a fox?
Vyrn: Which probably means the primal beast Lyria sensed was actually the fox...
  1. We need to go after it!
  2. Lead the way.

Choose: We need to go after it!

Yuel: Ya bet your sweet patooties we do!
Yuel: Hang in there, Societte! Help is on the way!
Go to "Continue 1"

Choose: Lead the way.

You: Gotcha! I'll track down Societte from her Ninetails power!
Kou: Let's hurry and rescue her.

Continue 1

With You pointing them in the right direction, (Captain) orders the Grandcypher to set a new course.

Societte's Wish: Scene 2

Societte wakes up and finds herself at a desolate village. The giant fox, Ukanomitama, apologizes for having acted rashly, and explains that it would like Societte to dance at the village's Inari Festival in its stead. Because of the village's declining population, the lack of believers is leading Ukanomitama toward an eternal slumber. Societte agrees to help, on the condition that they ask (Captain) and the others for their assistance as well.

Societte: Nnh... Where am I...
???: Sleep well?
Societte: ...!
Societte whips her head toward the voice and sees the giant fox that kidnapped her.
???: First I must apologize.
???: I'm sorry for carrying you off in such an audacious manner.
???: I was so thrilled to have finally discovered what I was searching for that I did not fully think through my actions.
???: I was also in a rush, for I have very little time left...
Societte: Your body...
???: ...
???: I have no right to make selfish requests, but I ask for your forgiveness. Furthermore, would you be so kind as to listen to my story?
Societte: ...
Societte: Why did you kidnap me?
???: Because I—
Villagers: On kirikaku sowaka...
Societte is startled by a chorus of elderly voices chanting on the other side of a rickety old door.
The fox's expression softens, as if expecting the interruption.
???: Excuse me for a moment. This won't take long.
Societte: Oh... Okay...
???: ...
Villager 1: O-Inari! You humble us with your presence.
???: You needn't thank me, for it is because of your unwavering devotion that I have yet to be forsaken.
???: The village's decay is my failing. As I have said before, you are free to curse my name.
Villager 1: We wouldn't dream of it. The fault lies entirely with us.
Villager 2: In fact, the only reason our village had prospered until now is because of your blessings.
Villager 2: We harbor nothing but the utmost gratitude.
Villager 1: If anything, we are the ones to be resented.
Villager 2: You kindled our faith and bestowed us with bountiful harvests, and yet our reverence was insufficient.
Villager 1: Most of the youths have forgotten you and turned their backs on the village. We couldn't stop them.
Villager 2: The only ones who still keep the faith are us old-timers. We are unworthy.
???: That is enough. You have all done well.
???: I hear your devoted prayers day in and day out. How long must I be saved by your selflessness?
Villager 1: As long as needed. It is our greatest wish to extend your life even for another minute more.
Villager 2: It's not much, but please accept our worship for the sake of your longevity.
???: There's no need for such reverence. Everyone is free to leave this isolated land and seek an easier life in the cities.
Villager 1: What a cruel joke. Are we to break our promise?
Villager 2: We have decided to stay with you until the very end.
???: Goodness... Such fervent faith... And yet I...
Villager 1: No! O-Inari!
???: I am all right. I can endure until the festival...
Societte: ...
After the fox, whom the villagers call O-Inari, finishes speaking, it returns to Societte.
???: I kept you waiting.
Societte: Oh, that's all right. Things must be very difficult right now, O-Inari.
???: Ah, so you heard? Hm, I should have had you come along.
Societte: It seems your body's condition is connected to the village's condition. Is that why you brought me here? What's the festival you mentioned?
???: You're an observant woman.
???: I have put off introducing myself for long enough. I am Ukanomitama. Some also call me O-Inari.
Ukanomitama: And you, I believe, are called Societte.
Societte: Yes, I am. Um, I'll gladly listen to your story if you don't mind telling me.
Ukanomitama: Ah, how kind of you. Thank you. Truthfully, I have a task that only you are capable of accomplishing.
Ukanomitama: Mortal child. I beseech thee. Dance in my stead during the village's Inari Festival.
Societte: You want me to take your place?
Ukanomitama: Come; follow me. I will show you the village.
Ukanomitama: Perhaps that will clear up what I am asking.
Societte nods and follows behind Ukanomitama.
Together they walk through the village.
Most of the houses are empty; of the ones still occupied, the occupants are primarily seniors.
Societte: ...
Seeing how devoid the village is of youths, Societte is reminded of the conversation between Ukanomitama and the elderly villagers.
Societte: (I see... The younger generation doesn't live here anymore.)
Ukanomitama: It is regrettable, but the village will perish in the not too distant future.
Ukanomitama: Without those to believe in me, I will fall into eternal slumber.
Societte: Is there nothing that can be done?
Ukanomitama's words leave Societte with a heavy heart.
Ukanomitama: No.
Societte: ...
Ukanomitama: Do not be sad. The ebb and flow of fortune is for mortals to decide. Such is fate.
Ukanomitama: But there are some people left in this village who attempt to oppose fate.
Societte: Like the old man and the old woman?
Ukanomitama: Yes. They took it upon themselves to spearhead the village's revitalization.
Ukanomitama: Every year this village hosts the Inari Festival.
Ukanomitama: It is customary for me to assume a humanoid form and perform a dance for good harvest.
Ukanomitama: Unfortunately, I don't even have the strength to transform anymore.
Societte: I see... That's why you abducted me—to have me dance as your substitute.
Societte: I still don't understand why it has to be me though. If it's a good dancer you're looking for, there are better options out there...
Ukanomitama: The girl of indigo flame was right in her assessment of you. I was captivated by your kindness.
Societte: Huh?
Ukanomitama: On top of that, judging by what I saw of your movements on the ship, ceremonial dancing is your specialty.
Societte: I guess it is...
Ukanomitama: It's the same style as my harvest dance. Thus I deemed you as the most suited to be my replacement.
Societte: ...
Ukanomitama: And by a strange coincidence, you are the spitting image of my humanoid form.
Societte: Is that so?
Ukanomitama: I speak the truth.
Ukanomitama: I understand I brought you here against your will and fed you a sob story.
Ukanomitama: However, for the hopes of the remaining villagers, will you lend me your assistance?
Societte: I can tell how much this village means to you.
Societte: If that's the case, I agree to help on one condition.
Ukanomitama: Hm... And what might that be? I'm open to anything within my power.
Societte: Well, (Captain)... I mean, the people I travel with on the airship will probably come looking for me soon.
Ukanomitama: Oh? They know of this place?
Societte: No, but the girl with indigo flames? Her name is You, and she has an amazing ability.
Ukanomitama: Ah, now I understand why you didn't panic after I kidnapped you.
Ukanomitama: Your faith in your friends to bring rescue never wavered.
Societte: Yes. But I'm not the only one who can be saved by them.
Ukanomitama: Hm...
Societte: Would you be willing to tell them what you told me?
Ukanomitama: I see no harm in that. Is that your condition?
Societte: I want to talk everything over with them.
Societte: I'm sure they'll be happy to help too.
Ukanomitama: Sounds like a wonderful group of people.
Ukanomitama: Hm... This is a disgraceful question coming from me, the one who made the request in the first place...
Ukanomitama: But why go that far for me?
Societte: Out of loneliness, I guess?
Ukanomitama: Could it be that you...
Ukanomitama: No, I won't ask. Very well. If that is your condition, then I accept.
Ukanomitama: Amazing. The friends you travel with will soon be here, just like you said they would.
Societte: Really?
Ukanomitama: I will go and greet them.
Societte: I think you'd better stay here and rest. Doesn't flying take a toll on your body?
Ukanomitama: Truly, you are full of kindness.
Societte: If I know (Captain), they'll be fine. They won't get lost or anything.
Ukanomitama: Then I shall defer to your steadfast trust in them. Now for a small rest...
Ukanomitama closes its eyes, and Societte pets the fox as it naps.

Societte's Wish: Scene 3

After arriving at the village, the crew listen to Ukanomitama's explanation and agree to do what they can. That night, Societte tells Yuel that she wants to be someone who can help others, just as others have helped her up until now. She wonders if accepting Ukanomitama's request is a way of self-satisfaction. However, Yuel assures Societte that she already does a lot for everyone around her, to which Kou and You—who had been secretly listening—agree.

Yuel: Societte!
You: Sis Societte!
Societte hears voices coming from behind her.
Before she can fully turn around, two pairs of arms smother her in a warm embrace.
Societte: Yuel! You!
Having sensed the crew's arrival, Societte and Ukanomitama had gone to greet them.
Yuel and You were at Societte's side in an instant.
Yuel: Societte, did it hurt ya? Quick, get behind me! I'mma give that fox a beatdown!
You: Stinky fox! Come get some!
Societte: W-wait! O-Inari had a reason for bringing me here!
You: Huh?
Yuel: What reason?
Ukanomitama: I promised I would explain everything.
Ukanomitama proceeds to tell everyone what it told Societte.
Lyria: Oh, okay. You were hoping Societte would dance in your place for the village's revitalization festival.
Vyrn: The fox is in a real tough spot, huh?
Yuel: Still, kidnappin' wasn't the answer. A nice chat woulda saved us from havin' heart attacks.
Ukanomitama: My actions were rash, I admit. I am truly sorry.
Yuel: Oh well. Looks like Societte forgives ya, so I'm good with whatever.
Yuel: This is a real doozy of a situation though.
Ukanomitama: Despite my heavy-handed approach, would you consider—
  1. Sure, we'll help.

Choose: Sure, we'll help.

Ukanomitama: ...
Societte: Hehe. See? What did I tell you?
Kou: Since Societte's on board, that means we'll happily lend a hand too.
Lyria: Yep! We'll do whatever we can!
You: Uh... What can we do, anyway?
Lyria: Well... Now's the time to start brainstorming!
Yuel: Ooh, good idea. I was just about to suggest that myself.
Kou: Haha...
Ukanomitama: Have you really thought this through?
Lyria: After listening to your story, we'd like to help.
Ukanomitama: Societte is surrounded by kind souls. Birds of a feather flock together, I suppose.
Societte: Not quite, O-Inari. I'm the one who takes after them.
Ukanomitama: I see. You're lucky to have a close relationship with them.
Ukanomitama: Thank you for your cooperation, kind ones.
Ukanomitama: I apologize for the rush, but we should rehearse the dance.
A bright light envelops Ukanomitama.
The crew shield their eyes from the overwhelming glare.
When the light fades enough for the crew to open their eyes again, they see the identical likeness of Societte staring back.
Ukanomitama: Hm... It seems I was able to transform somehow.
Societte: Is that you, O-Inari?
Ukanomitama: Yes. We look similar, do we not?
Yuel: Whoa... I'm seein' double here...
Societte: I thought you said you weren't able to transform anymore.
Ukanomitama: Your concern for my well-being has reinvigorated me with some faith. This is, however, merely temporary.
Ukanomitama: Since my time is limited, allow me to partake in the rehearsal.
Kou: Say, would it be all right if I joined in too?
Kou: I'm kind of curious as to what this harvest dance looks like.
Kou: I might even be able to help Societte with her practice in some way.
You: Oh, me too! Me too! Sis Societte's always teaching me stuff, so now I wanna give back!
Yuel: Don't forget about yours truly!
Ukanomitama: You are all more than welcome to.
Lyria: Um... What about the rest of us?
Ukanomitama: Please help out the villagers. I'm sure they have many tasks best served by younger backs.
Lyria: Okay! We'll do that!
Vyrn: Wouldn't hurt to advertise the festival either. We should contact Siero and ask her to spread the word.
Vyrn: The sooner the better too. Let's go get in touch right now!
Societte: Thank you, everybody.
(Captain) smiles with pride and heads into the village to help its residents.
Ukanomitama: Then let us begin.
With that said, Ukanomitama teaches Societte the harvest dance.
Societte: ...
At night, Societte practices Ukanomitama's dance in a nearby forest.
Yuel: Really burnin' the midnight oil, hm?
Societte: What brings you here at this hour, Yuel?
Yuel: Just wanna chat 'bout something.
Yuel: Why'dja accept O-Inari's request?
Societte: She said the ebb and flow of fortune is decided by mortals.
Societte: That it's only natural for the village to disappear.
Societte: But it's hard to deal with the loneliness of losing the things you cherish.
Societte: I know how that feels. Like when I lost Mom and Dad...
Societte: ...
Yuel: Ah... Yeah, I get that.
Societte: In my head, I didn't want O-Inari or the villagers to go through what I felt...
Yuel: Very Societte-esque! C'mere, you!
Societte: Heehee, cut it out...
Yuel: But I still think you're hiding somethin'. C'mon, you'll feel much better when ya cough up the truth.
Societte: Guess I can't keep anything from you, can I?
Yuel: I mean, how long have we been together for?
Societte: Since forever?
Yuel: Yep, pretty much. Probably even before we were born, I betcha. So it's no wonder I can read ya like a book.
Societte: I can't argue with that.
Societte: So the thing is... I'm always being bailed out by everyone else.
Societte: But what can I do to repay their kindness? It's not like I have anything to offer...
Societte: I'm so sick of being useless. Seriously, I am.
Societte: I wanted to help someone in order to repay the many people who have helped me. That's who I want to be.
Societte: I wanted to be like (Captain).
Societte: So being useful to O-Inari was my way of being greedy... For my own self-satisfaction.
Societte: What do you think, Yuel? That makes me a terrible person, doesn't it?
Yuel: Hm...
Yuel: Check this out, Societte. If I do this with my hand... Look, it's O-Inari! Yip, yip!
Yuel contorts her hand to form a shape that resembles the fox.
Societte: Oh, it really does look like O-Inari.
Societte: Hm?
Societte watches in puzzlement as Yuel's hand closes in on her forehead.
Yuel: Take this! Yip, yip, yip!
Societte: Owie, owie, ow! What was that for!
Yuel: Me and O-Inari here are fed up with your bellyachin'!
Societte: What do you mean?
Yuel: You're definitely not a terrible person!
Yuel: Self-satisfaction? Greedy? What's wrong with that? Better to be a hypocrite than someone who doesn't care!
Yuel: Not that I'm callin' ya a hypocrite, 'cause you're totally not!
Yuel: Ya think ya haven't helped anyone? Can't give back a single thing?
Yuel: I call bull! You've always been there to save my tail!
Societte: Yuel...
Yuel: And it's not just me, okay? You've helped Kou, You, (Captain), and everybody else!
Yuel: But don't just take my word for it.
Yuel turns away from Societte and gazes at a spot in the brush.
Kou: Haha, so much for staying hidden...
Societte: Kou, You... What are you two doing out here?
Kou: It seemed like you were preoccupied with something, and we were worried.
You: Remember, Sis Societte. I wouldn't be here right now if you hadn't rescued me.
Kou: It's all thanks to your selflessness that we can go about our lives in peace and comfort.
You: Yeah, so don't put yourself down like that.
Societte: Kou... You...
Societte: Haha... Yeah. Everyone's helping me as always.
The caring words of her friends cause Societte's eyes to tear up a little, but she keeps it hidden from the others.
A little ways off, (Captain) and company are watching the four Erunes.
Lyria: I knew Societte was acting a little differently. She really did have something on her mind.
Vyrn: Yuel's hit on it before, but Societte has a bad habit of saddlin' herself with too much stuff.
Lyria: Well, I think things will work out from now on. Hehe, what a relief.
Vyrn: I'm still thinkin' about how she wants to be like (Captain). She really looks up to our captain.
(Captain) blushes and tries to play it off.
Satisfied with the outcome of the happy quartet, (Captain) and company head back to their rooms.

Societte's Wish: Scene 4

Thanks to (Captain) and company, the village is packed with visitors on the day of the festival. Societte performs the dance she learned from Ukanomitama in front of the crowd, which leads people to become interested in the festival's subject of worship. The flare of new faith brought on by the crew's efforts helps Ukanomitama to regain its strength, successfully saving both the village and its overseer.

The Inari Festival, a last-ditch effort to stave off the village's collapse, is finally here.
Thanks to the efforts of the crew and Sierokarte, the village is packed with people.
Ukanomitama: The village is humming again with activity.
Ukanomitama: I never thought I'd see this again.
Societte: We have (Captain) and the crew to thank for that.
Ukanomitama: No, there is more to it than that. Your determination became their motivation. Everything was set in motion due to the strength of your conviction.
Societte: Hehe... You're making me blush.
Yuel: Societte! It's almost time to get your groove thang on!
Societte: Got it, I'll be right there.
Societte: Well, O-Inari, I'll see you later.
Societte: I'll keep you in my thoughts as I dance.
Ukanomitama: Mm.
Societte pats Ukanomitama's head and climbs up on the stage.
Ukanomitama: My dying wish was for this last festival to be a success. I would have no regrets.
Ukanomitama: But perhaps it's too early to give up...
Societte: ...
Societte performs the harvest dance exactly as Ukanomitama had taught her.
The villagers watch in silence, moved to tears by her graceful movements.
Villager 1: How can someone dance so beautifully?
Villager 2: She embodies O-Inari's dancing perfectly. Truly she is O-Inari's chosen...
Villager 1: Yes, O-Inari...
Villager 2: We will always be with you...
Villager 1: On kirikaku sowaka...
Villager 2: On kirikaku sowaka...
Ukanomitama: Yes, I am still with you for now... But my time is...
Ukanomitama: ...
Ukanomitama: What?
Meanwhile, the crew watch from their special section in the audience, and they're captivated by Societte's performance.
Yuel: Yep, yep... Always said she was on a different level.
Kou: She glides so smoothly and quietly from one step to the next. I certainly couldn't create such a solemn mood.
You: Wonder if I'll ever be able to dance like her...
(Captain) and the others are glued to their seats by the splendid spectacle on stage.
When the dance ends and Societte steps off the stage, she receives a standing ovation from the crew.
Societte: Ehehe... Thanks for the support, everyone.
Ukanomitama: That was a magnificent dance. Thanks to you, this festival will live on in the hearts of the villagers.
Societte: O-Inari? Why are you in that form?
Ukanomitama: Take a look around.
Societte: Hm?
Societte checks her surroundings.
The entire village is brimming with energy as people talk excitedly among themselves.
Tourist 1: What a dance. I've never seen anything like it, but I'm already a fan.
Tourist 2: Who's the festival celebrating again? Ukanomitama? Wonder what kinda blessings she bestows.
Tourist 3: Hm, I think it was stuff like encouraging bumper crops for big profits, good weather, good fortune, marriage... And the list goes on.
Tourist 1: She oversees all of that? Dang, I oughta be worshipping her more!
Tourist 2: Marriage, huh... I think she just picked up a new follower...
Tourist 3: Same here! I'm definitely comin' back! Getting blessings on top of an emotional dance show? I'd be dumb to pass that up!
Vyrn: Whoa... Looks like Societte was a major hit with the tourists.
Lyria: Everyone's believing in O-Inari, and it's all thanks to Societte.
Societte: I did this?
Ukanomitama: Your display sparked a new fire of faith, large and small, in the hearts of the young.
Ukanomitama: My body, which was flickering in and out of existence, is completely restored. I can come and go in skydweller form as I please.
Societte: Oh! Does that also mean you're able to perform the harvest dance again?
Ukanomitama: Indeed. With a little more faith, I will be able to use that power soon.
Societte: That's wonderful news. Now no one has to lose anything special to them.
Ukanomitama: You've done more than you know. I am rethinking my perspective of fortune's ebb and flow.
Ukanomitama: Everything is finite, but perhaps it wouldn't hurt to make some things last for as long as possible.
Ukanomitama: In any case, we shall attempt to keep holding this festival.
Societte: O-Inari...
Ukanomitama: Allow me to thank you with all my heart, Societte.
Societte: That's quite all right. This little project was kind of for myself too.
Societte: Let us know when you do another festival.
Societte: I'll be sure to help out again.
Ukanomitama: I was hoping to hear that. To you and your friends, thank you so much.
Everyone graciously nods.
The crew leaves the village and returns to the Grandcypher.
Everyone splits off to go to their cabins except for Societte, who remains on the deck, taking in the evening wind.
  1. What's up?

Choose: What's up?

Societte: Oh, (Captain). I was going over a few things in my head.
Societte gazes toward Ukanomitama's village.
Societte: I felt insecure during this entire incident.
Societte: Everyone said they'd be happy to support me.
Societte: Yet I still didn't believe in myself.
Societte: It wasn't until I felt Ukanomitama's gratefulness and saw the villagers' happy faces that I realized I had made a difference.
Societte: Wouldn't it be nice if I had more confidence?
Societte: So from now on, I'm thinking of pushing myself to be just that.
  1. Sounds great.

Choose: Sounds great.

Societte: Thank you, (Captain).
Societte: Um, this might come off as another selfish request, but I hope you'll keep supporting me when I need it.
Societte's face relaxes into a smile, showing the trust she has in (Captain).
Her words are filled with a strength she's never expressed until now.
