A monstrous mechanism created by the Jorha in preparation for a second war against the Astrals. The Diadem had turned Goran into a goblin after his defeat in the battle for the Menean throne, while in the most recent incident, the latest Goblin King was transformed into a new type of weapon called a Novaklim. When Goblin Mage was kidnapped by the second Goblin King her powers caught the Diadem's attention, leading it to grant the Goblin Princess a power to accelerate growth. The Diadem is capable of influencing the mind of its bearer—be it the vessel or the king—and was the cause of both the princess's harsh personality as well as the change in Algol's father's intentions.
Whoever inherits the crown is set to visually transform into Goran, the first Goblin King, as the Diadem has determined this to be a goblin's complete form. The last Novaklim, born from the Goblin King and considered by the Diadem to be its masterpiece, greatly resembled the primal beast Hekatonkheir. The resemblance to this titan of light is assumed to be the result of two things: First, many goblins revere it as a god, and this may have influenced their vision of an ideal form. Second, as the Diadem itself spent long periods of time observing goblins' progress from its perch atop the King's head, it too may have come to subconsciously see the primal beast in the same way.
