Old Bond - Opening

Vyrn wakes up from a dream of when he used to watch over baby Charumara. As he and Lyria help the captain prepare for the morning, Fediel suddenly shows up to take them away.

Having traded places with someone for the crew's night watch, (Captain) is asleep in the private quarters.
Vyrn: Zzz...
Sleeping soundly beside the captain is Vyrn.
Vyrn: Yawn...
Vyrn: There, there... Aren't you a good kid...
Vyrn has a dream of their home in Zinkenstill, where he is rocking baby (Captain) in the cradle.
Vyrn: Phew... (Captain) didn't burst into tears. Must mean I did an okay job of changing the diaper.
Baby: ...?
Vyrn: Until Daddy gets back from next door, looks like it's just you and me, kiddo.
Vyrn: What the!
Baby: Fweh...
Vyrn: Oh right! I was boilin' some water to warm the milk!
Baby: Waah...
Vyrn: Didn't mean to wake ya. I'm gonna get you some milk. Just gimme a sec.
Not particularly accustomed to taking care of a baby, Vyrn does his best to bring the milk bottle to (Captain)'s mouth.
Baby: Glug...
Vyrn: Slow down there! We don't want you to choke!
Vyrn: Nice and easy now... Hm? You want some more? No?
Vyrn: I'm gonna give you a backrub now, so maybe you can gimme a burp or two.
Baby: Burp...
Vyrn: Whoa-ho! I think you've gotten better at this burping thing!
Baby: ...
Vyrn: Drink well. Sleep well. Grow up big and strong. Nighty night, (Captain).
Vyrn pets the baby whose hands are smaller than his own, waiting for (Captain) to fall asleep once more.
Vyrn: Hehe, I worry my head off when you're up and about, but boy are you adorable in the crib!
Vyrn: Sucks for your mom that she can't be with her darling kid right now. But I'm sure her thoughts are always with you...
Vyrn: I'm hardly a replacement for your parents...
Vyrn: But the least I can do is stick by your side so that you'll never feel lonely!
Vyrn: (Captain)…
Vyrn: Yawn... Morning already? Man, what a blast from the past that was…
Vyrn: Hey, (Captain)! It's morning, time to wake up and smell the sunshine!
Still yawning, Vyrn continues rocking the captain.
  1. Just a few more minutes...
  2. I can't eat anymore...

Choose: Just a few more minutes...
Vyrn: No way, sleepyhead! You're gonna be asleep for hours if you don't get up now!

Choose: I can't eat anymore...
Vyrn: We haven't even had breakfast yet! You must still be half-asleep...
Continue 1
Vyrn: Rise and shine! Us missing breakfast makes it a hassle for the crew's cooks!
Vyrn: C'mon, (Captain)! Live up to your role as our captain!
Vyrn: I'll bring you a change of clothes, so get up already!
As the captain changes out of pajamas, Vyrn goes to grab a brush.
Vyrn: We wouldn't want you goin' out there with bed head, so be sure to fix yourself up at the mirror! I'm gonna be washin' my face—
Vyrn: Huh? You don't see any messy hair? Well, I guess it's mostly in the back. Lemme fix it for you.
Vyrn: Look, I know you're still worn out from yesterday's job... But could you not yawn when someone's doing you a favor?
Vyrn: You might have grown up, but in the strangest ways you're no different from when you were a tyke.

Vyrn: Tch! Ever the sweet talker.
Lyria's Voice: (Captain), Vyrn, are you up yet?
Vyrn: Yep! We'll be ready to head out in a sec!
Lyria: I was helping to make breakfast. I thought I'd come and let you know that it'll be ready soon!
Vyrn: Thanks, Lyria.
See, (Captain)? Lyria was with us too yesterday, but she had no trouble gettin' up on time.
Vyrn: Maybe you can try to follow her example, starting today!
Lyria: Huh? Is Vyrn helping you change, (Captain)?
Vyrn: That's right! Our captain probably would've slept into the afternoon without me.
Lyria: Oh, I'm sure (Captain) just needed a little extra rest after yesterday's job.
Lyria: I'll help you get ready too!
Lyria: Hm, I guess the next thing (Captain) needs is this belt.
Vyrn: You had no qualms with me helpin' out, but you're blushin' already when Lyria puts your belt on?
The lively morning shared by the three is interrupted by a sudden burst of magic.

???: ...
Lyria: Y-you're—

Arulumaya (Light) not in crew

Vyrn: You were with the rescue party at Alster Island! Whatcha doin' here?
???: Hm? Red Dragon, do you not... Ah, I see. Perhaps you are unable to reverse the alienation of consciousness.
???: Or maybe... Surely you wouldn't be afraid to know my true form.
Vyrn: ...?
  1. This magic... I've felt it before.

Choose: This magic... I've felt it before.
???: Oh? A mere glimpse was enough for you to notice, Singularity? Indeed, it is I!
Fediel: The master of death, demise, despair, eternal rest, and all else under darkness's domain—Fediel the Black of the Six Dragons!
Vyrn: You being Fediel the Black or whatever doesn't matter...

Arulumaya (Light) is a crew member

Vyrn: That you, Fediel?
Fediel: Indeed, it is I!
Fediel: For the singularity to share a bedchamber with the girl in blue and the red dragon... Is this more than a dyad?
Fediel: Perhaps this is what it means to be doubly blessed.
Vyrn: Gah, there you go again... What brings ya here anyway?
Vyrn: You being Fediel the Black or whatever doesn't matter...

Vyrn: Why do you gotta show up in (Captain)'s bedroom of all places!
Fediel: Why, because the singularity's presence is called for! Now then!
Still caught in Fediel's grasp, (Captain) is pulled by the arm into the dragon's magic.
Vyrn: Ack! What now?
Lyria: Eep!
Vyrn and Lyria, too, are engulfed in the black-colored magic. All vanish from the room without a trace.
Only the silence of the tranquil morning sunshine remains.

Old Bond - Chapter 1: Emerging Too Sudden - Episode 1

On their way to the dining hall, Shinsha, Nectar, Kushina, and Ugusu happen across an unfamiliar napping cat. They think to ask (Captain) about the cat, but the captain is not present. They also find the lightning crackling in the skies amid the beautiful weather to be a cause for concern.

Shortly after Fediel's visit to (Captain)'s quarters on the Grandcypher...
Shinsha, Nectar, Kushina, and Ugusu are about to head to the dining hall for breakfast.
Kushina: ...
(That should work!)
Shinsha: Thank you for doing my hair all the time, Kushina. I really appreciate it.
Kushina: ...
(Hehe, I love doing your hair so much that I consider it a privilege!)
Kushina: ...
(A privilege I wouldn't give up even for you, Nectar! She looks great today too, don't you think?)
Nectar: Yes, Kushina. This look suits Shinsha rather well.
Shinsha: Thank you, Nectar.
Kushina: ...
(Well, we'd better get to the dining hall.)
Shinsha: Uh-huh. Ugusu, have you finished grooming yourself?
Ugusu: Mng... Sure...
Kushina: ...
(You're not groomed at all! It's a mess especially in the back!)
Ugusu: Yawn... No worries... I'm still super fluffy either way.
Shinsha: Haha, that's one thing about Ugusu that never changes.
Ugusu: Yep, fluffy is justice!
Hrgh...
Shinsha: Still though, going out with bed head might be seen as a bit rude... So let's get properly groomed.
Nectar: That's right, Ugusu. Since someone else is making our meals for us, we should try to be mindful of our manners.
Shinsha: Those in the kitchen would also be disappointed to see their food being sloppily eaten.
Ugusu: Fair enough... Grandcypher food is good, so I'll play nice if it means I get to keep eating the stuff.
Ugusu: I'm still half-asleep here. Gimme a minute to clean myself up...
Nectar: That's the spirit, Ugusu.
Kushina: ...
(We shouldn't keep the kitchen staff waiting... Shinsha, maybe you can put Ugusu on your lap!)
Shinsha: Sure! Ugusu, can you groom yourself on my lap?
Ugusu: Thanks, Shinsha. You too for suggesting it, Kushina.
Kushina: ...
(I know you're not fully awake yet, but just try not to fall off, okay?)
Ugusu: Got it.
Ugusu: I'm all good now... I think! Try touching me, Shinsha!
Shinsha: Um... over here? Yeah, your feathers are lined up evenly. Nice job, Ugusu.
Ugusu: Eheh—
Ugusu: What the...
Ugusu: Kushina! Stop the wheelchair! There's something on the floor!
Kushina: ...!
(Huh? Where?)
Nectar: Is that... a rug?
Shinsha: A rug? The wind must've blown it here. Maybe it was being dried with the laundry.
Ugusu: Looks like it's made of fur... I'm gonna get a closer look!
???: ...
No version of Arusha in crew

Ugusu: Oh, I know! It's called a cat!

Any version of Arusha is a crew member

Ugusu: I saw one before in a picture book that the librarian Arusha lent me!
Continue 1
Shinsha: A... cat? Maybe it's the one (Captain) mentioned having?
Kushina: ...?
(I think I've seen that cat before, but its fur was a different color...)
The cat remains lazing in the sun, unfazed by the approach of Shinsha and friends.
Cat: ...
Ugusu: It's huge!
Nectar: Shinsha. I, too, believe this cat to be different from the one (Captain) usually keeps around.
Shinsha: Maybe it snuck aboard from the one of the islands we stopped at...
Nectar: That would mean this cat is not accounted for in the rationing reports. That could pose a problem later on.
Ugusu: It'd be a total disaster if we ran outta food! This cat's a troublemaker!
Kushina: ...
(I'm pretty sure we have some leeway in our food stores, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to make sure.)
Shinsha: Yeah, let's bring the cat to (Captain)'s room.
Cat: ...
Ugusu: Gah, it doesn't have a care in the world!
Kushina: ...
(Cats are so free...)
Shinsha: Sorry to get in the way of your sunbathing, kitty cat... Nectar, can you place it on my lap?
Nectar: Yes, Shinsha.
Nectar kneels down beside the cat to pick it up.
Cat: ...!
Nectar: Cat. You are the trespasser here. We only ask that you come with us.
Kushina: ...
(Does it even understand what you're saying? Hrgh...)
Shinsha: It's heavier than I expected... There, there, aren't you a nice cat... Quite fluffy too.
The cat shows no resistance when picked up by Kushina, squinting its eyes contently at Shinsha's head pat.
Ugusu: Pssh... I wanted more time on Shinsha's lap...
Kushina: ...
(Seriously, you're wide awake now. Let's get going, Ugusu!)
Shinsha: Good morning, (Captain). Are you in there?
Ugusu: Morning, (Captain)! Let's have breakfast together!
Ugusu: Hm, something's not right...
Nectar: Maybe the captain is already in the dining hall. We should—
Shinsha: Eek!
Shinsha: What a surprise... Was that thunder?
Kushina: ...
(But it was so sunny just now...)
Ugusu: It's sunny now too! Thunder on such a sunny day?
Kushina: ...
(Talk about weird weather...)
Shinsha: I've heard about rain in sunny weather, but thunder? Hm...
Cat: ...

Old Bond - Chapter 1: Emerging Too Sudden - Episode 2

The crew is brought to a food stall on a secluded island to discuss a matter with the Six Dragons. Seofon and Mugen, who had meant to be keeping tabs on the dragons, also show up at the stall.

???: ...
???: ...
Far away from civilization, on a small island in Phantagrande Skydom situated just above the necessary altitude for buoyancy...
The White and the Gold of the Six Dragons, said to beckon calamity from the depths, confront each other.
Seofon: Hoo boy... Who would've thought a dragon in a sour mood would lead to lightning bolts all over the skydom.
Seofon: They'd probably affect the nearby air currents just by walking around anywhere else.
Seofon: Wouldn't you agree, Mugen?
Mugen: So big! Really not island, Seofon?
Seofon: The yellow one's Lu Woh the White, while the brown one's Galleon the Gold. That's two of the Six Dragons.
Mugen: Six Dragons... So this is dragon too...
Mugen: For instance, small one like Vyrn is dragon. But big one here is dragon too. Why?
Seofon: "Dragon" is sort of a catch-all term for beings with immense power.
Seofon: In the Sky Realm, when you're that powerful, you start to resemble the Omnipotent more and more.
Seofon: Oh, look!
Mugen: Shake again!
Seofon: Phew, the entire island shakes when a dragon raises its leg.
Seofon: Galleon has a huge effect on the earth element after all...
Seofon: I might have to pick a fight with the Six Dragons if this keeps up...
Mugen: Mugen too. Life hard for people if ground keep shaking.
Seofon: Well said. Even I would have to go all out if worst comes to worst.
Seofon: (It'd be a good chance to see how far Mugen can go at full strength...)
Seofon: Huh?
Seofon: Isn't that...
Vyrn: Gah! Where'd you bring us!
Lyria: I don't think we've ever been to this island before... Right, (Captain)?
Fediel: Don't tell me you're getting senile already. This way, Singularity!
Lyria: Eep, no pushing, please!
Mugen: Seofon! Friends!
Seofon: (Captain)!
Seofon: And... is that a food stall? Was that there earlier?
Mugen: Not there before. Mugen think.
Seofon: Cognitive obstruction, is it? I'm trying to be as alert as I can be, but these dragons are something else...
Lyria: Um, is this food stall where you wanted to bring us, Fediel?
Vyrn: Why's it in the middle of nowhere to begin with?
Lyria: Ah! Look, up there!
Standing on vast and empty grasslands, (Captain) turns to the direction that Lyria points at.
Lyria: That's Lu Woh of the Six Dragons... Galleon too!
Vyrn: What is up with this island...
Fediel: No need to stand around, Singularity. That chair's for you; have a seat.
Vyrn: Hold it! How about you explain to us what's happening first?
???: Whoo! The food's ready!
Vyrn: Ack!
Vyrn: Sigh, this is too many surprises in one day... Would it kill ya to keep the volume down!
???: Why, thank you for coming! Sit down and relax! Enjoy the fresh feed!
Lyria: Um, happy to be here...
???: Mm... Welcome.
The girl already seated there shifts to the corner of the bench to make room for the crew.
Lyria: Thank you!
???: No problem.
???: Well, except for my hunger...
???: Just one moment! A meal is better enjoyed with good company!
The man steps away from the stall, banging the frying pan in his hand with a spatula as he calls out.
???: Galleon! Lu Woh! It's chow time! Get back here!
Galleon: ...
Lu Woh: ...
Lyria: Huh? Is it just me, or are they gone?
???: Greetings.
(I've come for food.)
A woman suddenly appears and sits down beside (Captain), taking a good look at the captain.
???: Blessings.
(Especially to you, Singularity.)
The woman plants a kiss on (Captain)'s forehead without warning.
Lyria: Wha?
Lyria: Wh-wh-why!
???: A pleasure.
(Girl in Blue, Red Dragon, thank you for coming.)
She then does the same to both Lyria and Vyrn.
Lyria: Eep!
Vyrn: Whoa!
???: Splendid.
(It's a pleasure to meet you.)
Vyrn: What's with this lady! And why do I keep hearing something different in my head from what she actually says...
Seofon: What could they be up to?
???: There's really no need for stealth. Keep your heads held high.
Seofon: ...!
Mugen: Huh? When...
Seofon and Mugen are engulfed by the young man's magic before they can respond.
Seofon: Yeowch... Could you be a little more gentle next time?
Vyrn: What the... Seofon and Mugen? What are you two doing here!
Seofon: This person right here... Wait, "person"? Well, he invited us here.
???: Having visitors sneaking around puts me ill at ease. We may as well feast together.
Mugen: Um... Happy here...
???: Welcome to my little establishment! Wamdus! Can you fetch them some water?
Wamdus: Sure.
With a swish of her finger, a glass made of ice appears before everyone present.
Wamdus: Help yourself.
Lyria: Th-thank you... Um, did he just call you Wamdus?
Wamdus: Yep. That's me—Wam.
Seofon: Meaning you guys must be the Six Dragons in mortal form.
Fediel: Was it not obvious after seeing how I can transform?
???: I'm not sure it's wise to so casually frolic with mankind, Fediel, even if you were in your mortal form.
Fediel: Do you realize how pointless it is to remain in hiding now that we've awoken?
???: Truer words have never been spoken. The Sky Realm's current state couldn't be more fascinating!
Wilnas: I, Wilnas the Vermillion of the Six Dragons, respect mortals for trying to carve out their own place in the skies!
Galleon: Gold dragon.
(I, Galleon the Gold of the Six Dragons, must concur.)
Galleon: Praise.
(Blessings upon all life in the Sky Realm, including the singularity.)
Lu Woh: I, Lu Woh the White of the Six Dragons, must acknowledge the strength of resolve mankind shows in the face of adversity.
Lu Woh: However, their avarice may one day swallow the skies whole along with themselves. That is why we must remain vigilant.
Wamdus: Coming from Luo, that's a compliment.
Vyrn: Y-yeah, you think so?
Fediel: He's not the greatest at expressing himself. It can be irksome at times.
Lu Woh: I would prefer that you do not make unnecessary commentary about me...
Lyria: Wait... Fediel, Wamdus, Wilnas, Galleon, Lu Woh...
Lyria: That's only five. There should be one more...
Lu Woh: Ewiyar the Emerald, ever the freedom-loving spirit, is not presently with us.
Wilnas: Not like attendence today was mandatory. Bet Ewiyar's off seeing what delights the world has to offer.
Vyrn: I can tell you guys went out of your way to welcome us here, but...
Vyrn: What for? I've only seen you guys in battle, so I can't help puttin' my guard up...
Wilnas: Hear, hear. Can't blame them if we seem shady for popping up out of the blue like we did!
Lu Woh: Yet it would be discourteous of us to not greet the singularity for being the impetus of our awakening.
Lu Woh: Though there is more to it than that...
Galleon: ...

Old Bond - Chapter 1: Emerging Too Sudden - Episode 3

The Six Dragons, upholders of the world's current form, explain that the Omnipotent originally had a different vision for the Sky Realm—one filled with large bodies of land and water. In order to correct the world's currently warped state, they require Vyrn's power.

Lu Woh: ...
Vyrn: What's with that look!
Wilnas: Alert. Alert. Looks like he's not too fond of you!
Lu Woh: Hrgh...
Noticing the cold look Lu Woh's giving Vyrn, Wilnas grabs him by the shoulder and forces him onto a seat.
Wamdus: We're not here to fight. Luo's just got a bit of an attitude problem.
Lyria: We're just here to talk then? I am so glad to hear that!
Lyria: Based on what Lindwurm told us, I was afraid we'd have to fight again...
Vyrn: That true dragon said somethin' about the Sky Realm being in deep doo-doo if you guys ever woke up.
Galleon: Reason.
(Lindwurm does have a point.)
Fediel: We are the wedges of the elemental affinities, the pressure that maintains the shape of the world. In essence, we collectively form the roots of the world.
Vyrn: Uh... I think you just lost me.
Wamdus: Hm... You know how bubbles are round? It's water pressure that makes them round. Think of the Sky Realm as a bubble, and us as water.
Galleon: Definition.
(From the very moment the Omnipotent created the world, we have been present for its upkeep.)
Galleon: Ripples.
(Due to our inherent roles, every little movement we make has a profound effect on the world.)
Fediel: And the reverse is also true—we are greatly affected by the world's state.
Galleon: Reciprocity.
(The personalities currently conversing with the singularity were born of such influences.)
Wilnas: Hey, at least I'm a fan of the skies right now! It'd be a waste to dye them a monotone red instead!
Wilnas: Mortal culture fascinates me to no end. People have tamed raging infernos to find so many practical uses for fire in everyday life!
Wilnas: I mean, just look at this food! Cooking has become such a refined art! It's perfection in a nutshell!
Wamdus: And that's why I have so much respect for all life in the skies.
Lu Woh: Well, I won't deny any of that. Mankind certainly deserves commendation for surviving in this twisted world.
Lyria: "Twisted world," you say? How so...
Lu Woh: The Sky Realm is quite far off from the way the Omnipotent originally envisioned it.
Lu Woh: When creating the world, he either failed to remove certain extraneous substances or inadvertently excluded certain wedges. It's a miracle he managed to stabilize the world despite the mishap...
Mugen: Exclude... wedges?
Wamdus: To put it simply, there should have been a lot more water. And land too.
Galleon: Asymmetry.
(Yet both were greatly limited.)
Galleon: Pity.
(Blessings upon the children of this miserable world.)
Galleon gets down on her knees and kisses the ground.
Wamdus: Rest assured, we're on the side of mankind.
Seofon: So you say...
Lu Woh: But the fact remains that we must correct the world's distortion.
Lu Woh: That is why we had Fediel invite you here, Singularity. And you as well, Red Dragon...
Vyrn: Me? I thought your business was just with (Captain)...
Lu Woh: Allow me to be blunt, Red Dragon... We'd like you to bridge the gap.
Vyrn: Huh?

Old Bond - Chapter 1: Emerging Too Sudden - Episode 4

The Six Dragons reveal that Vyrn is a special vessel who's collected power scattered across the world in his travels. They need that power to correct the world's distortions and impose a series of trials upon (Captain), putting Vyrn's power on the line. The first trial, overseen by Fediel, calls for the captain to show her what a good date constitutes.

Vyrn: Bridge the gap? What's that even mean?
Growing wary, (Captain) pulls Vyrn in and holds him close.
Wilnas: Easy now, we're not picking a fight. And would you stop glaring at them, Lu Woh?
Lu Woh: ...
Lu Woh: Red dragon. You may not realize it, but your role as vessel is absolutely critical.
Vyrn: Vessel?
Lu Woh: Throughout your travels, you've managed to accumulate much of the power scattered throughout the world.
Vyrn: Wha?
Galleon: Paralysis.
(Though it appears you are unable to use that power...)
Galleon: Deficiency.
(Which is why we would like to use it in your stead for the greater good.)
Lu Woh: As I mentioned earlier, the world has strayed far from its ideal state.
Lu Woh: Galleon and I believe that needs to be corrected.
Galleon: Exorcism.
(The Otherworlders who roam the earth must be vanquished.)
Vyrn: Otherworlders...
Lyria: There was a point when they came after my power and Vyrn's...
Vyrn: It makes sense that they'd go after Lyria since she can summon primals, but me?
Vyrn: I guess they really wanted whatever power I have, just like you guys, huh.
Lu Woh: That does seem rather likely.
Vyrn: I don't get all this twisted world talk, but the Otherworlders have been a real pain in our butts...
Vyrn: And if I can't use this power anyway, I don't see any reason not to give it to you guys.
Galleon: Felicity.
(Glad to hear it.)
Wilnas: Hold on just a sec, Lu Woh, Galleon.
Wilnas: As the world's wedges, what we're doing here feels a bit like exploitation.
Galleon: Reward.
(You suggest we give something back in return?)
Fediel: What say we confer a series of trials upon the singularity, putting the red dragon's power on the line?
Fediel: This'll be a good chance to test the singularity's power for myself.
Wilnas: Not a bad idea. I was half-asleep the last time I battled the singularity, which hardly made it a fair fight!
Fediel: Wamdus, Lu Woh, Galleon. Any objections?
Wamdus: None from me.
Galleon: Approval.
(I do not mind as long as the singularity concedes.)
Lu Woh: If the rest of you are agreed, there is no reason for me to be opposed.
Fediel: Good, it's decided then. I'll be the vanguard.
Lyria: A series of trials...
Fediel: I, Fediel the Black of the Six Dragons, challenge you, Singularity...
Fediel: To a date!
Vyrn: Wha! A-a date?
Fediel: Indeed! I understand that a dyad becomes consummate only after some nooky delight by night lanterns.
Fediel: Show me what a date is, Singularity!
Seofon: A date for a trial, eh? I guess that's a challenge in its own way.
Lu Woh: Now I understand why you were so gung ho about this...
Fediel: Hahah!
No one had expected this encounter with the Six Dragons to lead to a date.
Though it is only the first trial, (Captain) already looks troubled.

Old Bond - Chapter 2: No Bland Confession - Episode 1

(Captain) and company return to the Grandcypher with Fediel and Wamdus in tow and have breakfast with Shinsha's group. (Captain) and Lyria then go on a date on a nearby island while Shinsha's group is shopping there. Fediel, Seofon, and Vyrn observe the date from the shadows.

With Vyrn's power on the line, (Captain) proceeds with the trial of the Six Dragons.
Fediel accompanies the crew back to the Grandcypher.
Mugen: Into room.
Fediel: A date, I say! A date!
Vyrn: Geez, we just got back. Give us a sec to unwind first!
Fediel: Hrm? Do mortals not try to make the most of their time?
Seofon: There's a time and place for everything.
Vyrn: Phew... It's been one thing after another this morning. We didn't even get to eat breakfast...
Lyria: That reminds me: we came back without eating any of the food Wilnas prepared.
Wamdus: It's all right—I ate it all. Was hardly enough.
Vyrn: What the... You're here too, Wamdus? If you're still hungry, maybe we can get some grub together.
Seofon: Mind if I come with? I've been hard at work for days and could really use some food.
Lyria: Of course! The dining hall's—
Ugusu: Ah! There you are, (Captain)! Where'd you run off to?
Ugusu: Hey, I've never seen some of these folks before. Where'd they come from?
Vyrn: Sigh... We can talk about that at the dining hall. Sound good to you, (Captain)?
Ugusu brings the rest of his gang over for a late breakfast with (Captain)'s group.
Wamdus: Nom, nom... Chomp...
Shinsha: A trial from the Six Dragons, you say... And Vyrn's power will be taken if you fail to complete it?
Vyrn: I mean, I didn't even know I had this "power" that they've been goin' on about.
Kushina: ...
(Honestly, I'm not sure what to make of this...)
Ugusu: It must suck when others think they can do what they want with you...
Seofon: As long as (Captain) clears the trial, then Vyrn's safe.
Seofon: Taking on all Six Dragons at once would've been one heck of a battle. We're lucky they're doing this one by one.
Mugen: Trial... Hm... Fediel trial is date...
Mugen: What is date?
Fediel: It's a chance to determine if you and the other party form a suitable dyad to pass on the torch with!
Mugen: Dy-ad?
Ugusu: Oh, I know what that is! It's when Mommy and Daddy get together for happy times!
Nectar: I believe you have it in reverse, Ugusu. The date must happen first before a couple can become Mother and Father.
Seofon: Point is, (Captain) has to show Fediel what a successful date is like.
Mugen: Oh! Who (Captain) date with?
All eyes turn to the captain.
Lyria: ...!
Ugusu: If I had to choose, Shinsha would be my date! It's not about being Mommy and Daddy—I just really care about Shinsha!
Shinsha: Haha, thanks, Ugusu. We can go shopping together next time.
Ugusu: Okay!
Kushina: ...
(He beat you to it, Nectar.)
Nectar: Kushina.
Seofon: Well, (Captain)? Who's your lucky date going to be?
Seofon: Any chance you're considering me?
  1. Definitely not you.
  2. Good question...

Choose: Definitely not you.
Seofon: Ahaha. Flat-out rejection like that kinda hurts.
Mugen: It's okay, Seofon.
Seofon: I'm touched that you're actually consoling me, Mugen! You're too kind...

Choose: Good question...
Lyria: Um...
Continue 1
Fediel: The girl in blue seems the most natural pick.
Lyria: Er...
Fediel: The two halves of a dyad have their fates bound together. As such, you are the ideal match for the singularity!
Lyria: I... I suppose that's one way of looking at it... Right, (Captain)?
The captain readily nods and extends a hand to her.
  1. Will you go on a date with me, Lyria?

Choose: Will you go on a date with me, Lyria?
Lyria: Yes! Gladly!
Vyrn: You gonna be okay, (Captain)? Think you've got what it takes to escort Lyria through a date?
Chest puffed out, the captain stands confidently and offers a location for the date.
Seofon: True, that island is nearby and has a pretty big commercial district. Seems like a great place for a stroll.
Mugen: Many shops?
Seofon: There sure are. Whatever you're looking for, chances are they've got it.
Mugen: Then Mugen go too. Buy gift for Stardust Town children.
Ugusu: Ooh, that sounds like fun! Count me in on this trip!
Wamdus: Any good food there?
Ugusu: Plenty, I'm sure!
Kushina: ...
(We're not going there to play, Ugusu!)
Kushina: ...
(Wait, if it's a date, we technically are going there to play...)
Nectar: Kushina. It shouldn't matter too much if any individual crew members go out to town while the ship's docked at the island.
Shinsha: Since Ugusu's so excited about it, why don't we take this chance to go shopping together?
Shinsha: Mugen, Wamdus, would you like to join us?
Mugen: Okay! Mugen appreciate! Mugen big, so people in town scared...
Wamdus: Heh. I guess Luo wasn't kidding about mortals being afraid of giants.
Fediel: Good. Now that we have everything planned out, let's get this date started!
Vyrn: All right, all right... I'll go tell Rackam to set a course for this place.
Vyrn: (Captain), Lyria, you guys get ready for the date!
Shinsha: Um! Sorry, there's just one thing I wanted to ask about first!
Shinsha: We found a stray cat on the deck. It must've gotten lost and wandered aboard—Kushina didn't recognize it either...
Ugusu: Is it cool if we keep the kitty cat around for a while?
Nectar: Shinsha thought to bring the cat with us, but it wouldn't budge from its bed.
Vyrn: We've got plenty of other cats onboard anyway. One more won't make a difference. Right, (Captain)?
Shinsha and friends are relieved to see a thumbs-up from the captain.
Fediel: ...
Nectar: Fediel the Black. What can I do for you?
Fediel: Seeing as you have your dyad already, you would do well to show me what a date's like for you too!
Nectar: Dyad...
Fediel: Am I wrong?
Nectar: I find it a bit inaccurate to call my pact with Shinsha a "dyad."
Fediel: Oh? Very well... Then (Captain)'s date shall come first!
Being rushed by an excited Fediel, (Captain) and Lyria make haste with their preparations.
Lyria: (Captain)! I hope you didn't wait long!
The pair disembark from the airship and head to town together.
Fediel: ...
Seofon: ...
Vyrn: ...
Vyrn: Anyone wanna tell me why we're bein' so sneaky about this?
Fediel: Spoiling the date would do us no favors. It's best if they think they're alone!
Fediel: I'll apply cognitive obstruction, but bear in mind that this is the singularity and the girl in blue. It pays to be alert.
Seofon: Things are starting to ramp up. Even I'm looking forward to this!
Vyrn: Hoo boy...
Vyrn: It's all on you now, (Captain)...

Old Bond - Chapter 2: No Bland Confession - Episode 2

Fediel and Seofon watch curiously as (Captain) and Lyria go about touring the shops in town. In seeing how well the date is going, Vyrn realizes how much the captain has grown.

Lyria: Wow, Seofon was right about this being a huge marketplace!
At the entrance to the marketplace is a large pillar with signboards pointing in various directions.
Lyria: To the right is the hardware block, littered with weapon and armor shops. Straight ahead is the woodenware block.
Lyria: It seems like the store locations are based on the material used to make their products!
Commenting on how the marketplace is likely divided this way based on supply routes, the two decide where to go first.
Lyria: With this many places to visit, I'm sure there's plenty of curious objects we've never seen before!
Lyria: Ehehe, just seeing the entire road lined with shops tells me we're going to have so much fun.
Lyria: Is there anything in particular you'd like to check out first, (Captain)?
Gran is the Main Character

Lyria: Kitchenware? Hm... I think the shops dealing in home appliances are this way!
Djeeta is the Main Character

Lyria: Clothing? Hm... I think the clothing shops are this way!
Lyria: Okay then, let's go!
Seofon: I give (Captain) points for taking the lead in deciding where to go.
Seofon: Being wishy-washy about that on a date tends to ruin the mood.
Vyrn: You think so?
Seofon: Well, maybe not in (Captain) and Lyria's case.
Fediel: So mortals are able to judge their date's decisiveness through conversation, I see. Most intriguing.
Fediel: For smaller, weaker life-forms, the smallest lapse in judgment can easily lead to their demise. It makes sense that you'd want to choose someone decisive for your dyad.
Vyrn: They're moving on, guys!

Lyria: Wow, look at all these pots and pans! I didn't know there were so many varieties.
Lyria: This next shop specializes in kitchen knives... They have chopping boards too! And they're shaped differently than the one we have on our ship.
Lyria: This one has raised edges on all sides to prevent food from rolling off it!
Lyria: It's flat only in the center. Looks convenient for putting chopped ingredients directly into a pot!
Impressed with Lyria's knowledge of cookware, (Captain) offers her words of praise.
Lyria: I've learned so much from helping out in the kitchen lately!
Lyria: I figure the more I know, the more help I can be to the crew!
  1. Let me buy you something.

Choose: Let me buy you something.
Lyria: Huh?
Lyria hesitates when he asks her what she'd like.
Lyria: I-I didn't plan on getting anything—I'm just looking, really! Besides, I think we already have plenty of cookware on the Grandcypher...
(Captain) holds up the chopping board and asks Lyria if she'd like it.
Lyria: Um, well... I think I'd go for the pot holder instead...
Lyria: The ones we have on the ship are a bit too big and slippery for me.
Having a clearer idea of what Lyria wants, (Captain) turns to the shelf of pot holders.
Lyria: Wow, even pot holders come in all different kinds!
Lyria: Hm, it's not so easy to pick one... I know, (Captain)!
Lyria: Maybe you can decide for me!
Lyria: I'd love to practice cooking with a pot holder picked out by you, (Captain)!
Taking Lyria's request seriously, the captain tries to find the perfect pot holder for her.
Lyria: Ehehe...
While confirming Lyria's preferred size and design along the way, he finally spots one that seems to fit all her needs.
Lyria: Thank you so much, (Captain)!
Lyria: I'm going to make the best meals I can with this! You'll enjoy my cooking even more then!
Lyria's infectious smile spreads to (Captain), and the two lock their pinkies in a promise.
Fediel: Making the difficult calls for a most favorable outcome... The singularity is doing well!
Seofon: Being able to pick out a gift that matches Lyria's tastes so perfectly just shows how much attention (Captain) pays her regularly.
Vyrn: Not to mention (Captain) already knew that Lyria's been hard at work in the kitchen lately.
Vyrn: I bet that's why he chose to check out kitchenware, knowing she wouldn't be bored!

Continue 2
Lyria: Wow! Every shop here is so fancy!
Lyria: Even if it's just clothing, there's so much to see! Where should we start, (Captain)?
  1. I wanna see the shoes!

Choose: I wanna see the shoes!
Lyria: Sure! Since you always have so much ground to cover, the ones you're wearing now are probably pretty worn out!
Noticing Lyria's reaction, (Captain) grabs her hand and leads her to the nearest shoe store.
Lyria: These designs are very intricate... They're probably meant to go with fancy dresses.
Lyria: Oh look, that place sells boots too! Some of them look really cool!
They walk over to the shop that has caught Lyria's attention.
(Captain) seats Lyria in a chair and picks out a few pairs of boots for her to try out.
  1. You'll want a new pair to stay warm.

Choose: You'll want a new pair to stay warm.
Lyria: Huh? But the boots I have now are still good. I was thinking we could just get you a new pair...
Determined to equip Lyria with new footwear, (Captain) gets down and slips off Lyria's boots.
Lyria: Ahaha, it tickles when you touch my feet like that.
  1. Tickle monster says you need new boots!

Choose: Tickle monster says you need new boots!
Lyria: If you say so, (Captain)! Maybe you can pick out a pair for me then.
Lyria: In return, let me pick out a nice pair for you too!
Agreeing with the compromise, (Captain) gets to work perusing the shelves.
Lyria: Teehee...
After some time trying out a fine selection, (Captain) finally decides on a pair that perfectly matches Lyria's shoe size and design preference.
Lyria: They're so easy to walk in too! It's like they were made for me.
Lyria: And look at all the pretty decorations on them! It's going to be so much fun just putting them on!
It is now (Captain)'s turn to sit down. Lyria takes off the captain's shoes.
Lyria: With footwear we picked out for each other, we'll be able to go anywhere together.
Lyria: Even to the ends of the skies... To Estalucia!
Seofon: It's true you need shoes to get around, but I guess they also count as an accessory.
Fediel: So a relationship deepens when both halves of the dyad search for a solution together.
Vyrn: Lyria was barefoot when we first met her. Turns out she didn't need shoes since the empire kept her indoors all the time.
Vyrn: I guess getting Lyria proper footwear is something (Captain)'s been wantin' to do for a long time.
Seofon: Beautiful story.
Continue 3
Vyrn: What's more...
Vyrn: When we first left Zinkenstill, (Captain) would get all wide-eyed anytime we hit a marketplace.
Vyrn: As a kid, (Captain) was like a fish out of fresh water even at the grocer.
Vyrn: To see our captain now takin' the lead in showing Lyria around shows how far we've come...

Old Bond - Chapter 2: No Bland Confession - Episode 3

(Captain) passes the first trial by having a fun date with Lyria. Wilnas shows up and leaves behind a portal leading to the next trial, telling (Captain) and company to enter after they've rested up.

While (Captain) and Lyria are enjoying their date, Shinsha and friends are also touring the town.
Wamdus: Nom...
Ugusu: Mm! Gotta love ice cream!
Kushina: ...
(Would you stop gorging on the stuff already! Then again, we wouldn't want it to melt either...)
Shinsha: Are you sure you don't want any ice cream, Nectar?
Nectar: Yes, Shinsha. I have no need of the nutrition found in food.
Nectar: And taste holds little meaning for me as well. I believe our money would be better spent elsewhere.
Shinsha: Oh?
Nectar: Yes, Shinsha. It's more important to me to see you and everyone else enjoying the food.
Shinsha: Okay then... But just take one bite of my ice cream!
Shinsha: It's delicious. I want you to know the taste of what I find delicious too, Nectar.
Nectar: ...!
Nectar: Very well, Shinsha. I happily oblige.
Ugusu: Hey! I wanna give you a bite of my ice cream too, Nectar!
Mugen: Ice cream... Yummy... But, for instance... Present... Difficult...
Kushina: ...
(It melts pretty fast, doesn't it...)
Wamdus: Want me to refreeze the ice cream for you? That'd make it last pretty long.
Wamdus: You guys paid for mine, so consider this my way of saying thanks.
Mugen: Ah! Thank you. Wamdus!
Wamdus: Why, you're welcome. I take pride in my good manners too!
Shinsha: Teehee...
Vyrn: Aren't we gonna be found out if we get this close?
Seofon: Nah, we should be okay with Fediel's cognitive obstruction. Especially considering I didn't even notice the food stall on that island earlier.
Fediel: Quiet, you two!
Hiding away in a corner of the cafe, Fediel's group observes (Captain) and Lyria.
Lyria: There's crepes, parfaits, cakes... Wow, a selection! On this page is mousse, pie, jelly...
Lyria: Ooh! This iced tea with a scoop of ice cream on top looks great!
(Captain) can't help but grin at the sight of Lyria joyously poring through the menu.
Lyria: Hrm... I can't make up my mind! Maybe you should pick what you want first, (Captain)!
The captain grabs the bulky menu from Lyria and begins scanning through it.
  1. Wanna share?
  2. Let's get one of everything!

Choose: Wanna share?
Lyria: Um, as long as you're okay with it! Everything looks delicious, so sharing means we each get to try more food!
They lay the menu out on the table to decide what to order together.

Choose: Let's get one of everything!
Lyria: E-e-everything? Are you sure about that?
Being a hardworking skyfarer who moves around a lot, (Captain) is confident about being able to finish all the food.
Lyria: Even if you could, I think that's a bit too excessive!
Lyria: We can always come again in the future. For today, let's go with a more standard portion!
As tempting as a mountain of desserts may sound, they forgo the idea and lay the menu out on the table to decide what to order together.
Continue 1
After due consideration, they decide to go with a fancy pie and a dish consisting largely of flan.
Lyria: Look how cute that thing is! It almost feels like a shame to put my spoon through it...
(Captain) begins cutting the pie as Lyria watches.
  1. Open wide, Lyria.

Choose: Open wide, Lyria.
Lyria: Huh? I was going to do the same for you... I know—we can take turns!
Lyria: Ahhh...
Lyria: Yummy! Okay, your turn to open wide, (Captain)!
A smile creeps over Vyrn's face as he watches the two feed each other.
Vyrn: Hehe, this date's going pretty well. I guess there was nothin' to worry about after all.
Seofon: Mm-hm, (Captain)'s a real charmer.
Fediel: They appear oblivious to everything else around them... So this is the power of a date!
Fediel: You've charmed her without the use of magic. Splendid work, Singularity.
Vyrn: Happy?
Fediel: Mm... Yes, I am most satisfied with what I've seen today.
Vyrn: Phew...
Fediel: I never cared much for your power myself, Red Dragon.
Fediel: My interest lies in observing the world, a feat for which your power would be overkill.
Vyrn: Why'd you bring up the idea of a trial then?
Fediel: Hahah, I could not pass up the opportunity to see a date with my own two eyes.
Seofon: I guess making it a trial's better than just being a total Peeping Tom...
Vyrn: Phew, I'm not lookin' forward to the other trials...
Lyria: We had so much fun today that I almost forgot it was a trial!
Lyria: With so many crew members now, I don't get many chances to spend time alone with you, (Captain)...
The captain suggests that the two of them go out together again sometime, to which Lyria bashfully smiles.
Lyria: Gladly! And it won't be a trial next time. I'll be waiting!
(Captain) escorts Lyria back to the Grandcypher.
Fediel: Singularity, I must commend you for showing me what a date is! Congratulations on passing my trial!
Lyria: That's a relief! Actually, there are many kinds of—
Just as Lyria is about to say that there are many different kinds of dates, (Captain) cuts her short.
Fediel: Hm? Did you mean to show me something?
Lyria: N-no, it's nothing! I'm just happy we got to show you what a date is.
Vyrn: So which dragon's in charge of our next trial, Fediel?
Fediel: That would be...
Wilnas: Whoo-hoo-hoo! Excellent work on clearing Fediel's trial, Singularity!
Vyrn: Wilnas! So you're up next, huh...
Wilnas: Indeed I am. I've prepped a special place just for the next trial! Follow me!
Wilnas: While you could ride on my back there, it's best we don't rock the boat—or rather, the elements.
Wilnas: I'll leave the portal open. Come on over when you're ready.
Wilnas creates a mana vortex and passes right through it.
Seofon: He whipped up a portal out of thin air... These Six Dragons are no joke.
Ugusu: We're back!
Lyria: Oh, Ugusu! We just got back too.
Mugen: Very fun! You too?
Lyria: Mm-hm, it sure was!
Vyrn: I'm kinda beat from tourin' the marketplace.
Vyrn: And with Wilnas's trial comin' up next, we could use a break.
Kushina: ...
(I bet Shinsha's tired too...)
Shinsha: I'm more worried about you, Kushina. Thanks for pushing my wheelchair the entire day.
Kushina: ...
(You're welcome!)
Fediel: We understand that mortals are frail. I'm sure Wilnas wouldn't mind waiting for you to rest up until the crack of dawn.
Wamdus: We dragons have time to kill anyway.
Taking their advice, (Captain) and company decide to rest up for the night.
Vyrn: Yawn...
Vyrn: Mng... You needa pull the covers all the way up if you don't wanna catch a cold, (Captain)...
Vyrn: Hehe. You might be all grown up now, but some things never change.
Vyrn: ...

Old Bond - Chapter 2: No Bland Confession - Episode 4

Wilnas's trial involves cultivating an island. It's a race to see who can till more land by sunrise.

Having rested up, (Captain) brings Vyrn and Lyria to the portal left behind by Wilnas.
Vyrn: Heyo, Wilnas! We're here!
Wilnas: Oh, has the night passed already? You're here earlier than I expected!
Lyria: Your sense of time seems very relaxed. Maybe because the Six Dragons have lived so long?
Vyrn: That reminds me: Mugen was sayin' Wamdus is still catchin' up on her z's.
Vyrn: Anyhoo, what's your trial gonna be, Wilnas?
Wilnas: Mortals, as frail as they are, have made the best of a difficult situation to traverse the world throughout the generations. And they deserve my respect for that.
Wilnas: They've even tamed my element—fearsome flames that consume all—to develop new techniques for themselves.
Wilnas: And that includes cooking—an art that fascinates me to no end! Mankind goes above and beyond what's necessary for survival. Absolutely marvelous, I say!
Lyria: Ah, I know! Cooking is going to be the next trial, right?
Lyria: (Captain) and I should be able to help you make—
Wilnas: Hold it. Let's take a step back!
Vyrn: Huh?
Wilnas: You see, Galleon made this island as a favor for me!
Lyria: Wow! She made an entire island?
Wilnas: After all, you need rich soil to nurture the ingredients used in cooking!
Wilnas: Of course, I also made sure to secure sunlight and water from Lu Woh and Wamdus!
Vyrn: The Six Dragons are on a whole nother level...
Wilnas: Yet even with all that, Galleon kept telling me to make sure the environment's right for growing plants.
Wilnas: From what I hear, mortals grow their vegetables in a field?
Vyrn: You got that right! I used to help out on the fields of Zinkenstill!
Wilnas: Splendid! That makes my explanation easier!
Wilnas: We're going to cultivate this island to make it suitable for growing vegetables! Whichever one of us tills more land by the end of the day wins, Singularity!
Vyrn: No way! How can you expect (Captain) to stand a chance against one of the Six Dragons in a feat of endurance!
Wilnas: Oh, no worries! I'm giving myself a proper handicap by using this farming implement, similar to ones used by mortals.
Wilnas: It is crafted from magic though, so I'm sure I'll pose a decent challenge!
Vyrn: Aw, c'mon now...
Wilnas: Okay, to even the odds a bit more...
Wilnas: The singularity may receive help for anything other than the actual plowing!
Wilnas: How about that?
Wilnas: It'd be unfair to have you jump into this straight away, so we'll begin tomorrow morning!
After the few compromises Wilnas makes, (Captain) agrees to the trial.
However, Vyrn and Lyria can't help but wonder if this is a fair matchup.

Old Bond - Chapter 3: Living Verily - Episode 1

Galleon is called upon as the judge for Wilnas's trial. The captain's previous experience working the fields in Zinkenstill and the support of Lyria and Vyrn prove invaluable.

Early in the morning of Wilnas's trial, before the sun rises to shine its light upon the Grandcypher, Lyria and Vyrn go down the hall.
They make their way to the kitchen and place various tools and ingredients on the table.
Lyria: Cheese, bacon, eggs... We have permission to use baguettes too!
Vyrn: We're makin' sandwiches then! Anything you need me to do in particular, Lyria?
Lyria: Can you make a slice in the baguettes, then whip the butter and spread it on the inside of the bread?
Lyria: I'll prepare the ingredients that go inside the baguettes. Thankfully, I've done this before. It'll be boiled eggs, cut and dressed with everything else!
Vyrn: All righty, I'll get your baguettes in order! Lemme know if you need anything else!
Lyria: Mm-hm! We're going to pack (Captain) a yummy lunch to get through this trial!
Vyrn: Hehe, don't forget to lay the cheese on thick! Gotta make it filling so that (Captain) doesn't feel hungry!
Vyrn: Oh, I just remembered! Maybe I can whip up that drink a granny we knew in Zinkenstill used to make for us...
Lyria: Oh yes, staying hydrated is important too! Let's do everything we can, Vyrn!
Vyrn: You got it!
Nodding in agreement, the two begin making a packed lunch for (Captain).
Shortly after, the three head to the island where Wilnas awaits.
Wilnas: You're making a fantastic impression so far! Once again, you've arrived slightly before the appointed time!
Wilnas: Truth be told, other than Lu Woh, us Six Dragons can be pretty lax with time.
Vyrn: I'd say you're lax with a lot more than just time...
Vyrn: Anyhoo, where are you gonna start workin' from, (Captain)?
Wilnas: Let's make that creek the dividing line! I've tried to clear most of the rocks in the area, but some pebbles might remain.
Vyrn: So I guess cleanup's part of the game then... Do we get any tools to work with?
Wilnas: What do you need... A plow? A hoe? Lu Woh gave me a bunch of tools!
With a wave of his hand, a number of farming implements appear on the ground. (Captain) grabs the necessary ones.
Wilnas: And I've invited Galleon to be the judge of how much land exactly is tilled today!
Galleon: Time.
(The trial is about to begin. Are you ready?)
Lyria: I'm rooting for you, (Captain)!
Galleon: Commencement.
(Well then... You may begin.)
(Captain) begins by surveying the surrounding soil.
Wilnas: Hrgh! Haah!
Meanwhile, Wilnas is already smashing the pebbles in the ground with powerful overhead strikes of his hoe.
Vyrn: Whoa! That's pretty intense!
Lyria: Wilnas the Vermillion... Can (Captain) really beat him?
Recalling past experiences helping out on a farm, (Captain) neatly overturns the soil.
Using muscles different from those needed for combat, (Captain) quickly works up a sweat.
Vyrn: (Captain)! I'd say it's about time you took a short break for some water!
Vyrn: I made you some of that stuff the granny next door used to make. Brings back memories, doesn't it?
(Captain) grabs the canteen from Vyrn and drinks up.
Vyrn: You want some too, Lyria? I call it the Honey, Lemon, and Ginger Syrup in Water Drink.
  1. What a creative name.

Choose: What a creative name.
Vyrn: Hey, it's not my fault the granny never had a proper name for it.
Lyria: You must have so many memories of this taste... I'll have a sip!
Lyria: It's so refreshingly sweet! It goes down easy too!
Vyrn: What's that sour substance you find in lemon called again? Mm... Can't remember, but it's supposed to be great for fatigue.
Vyrn: Anyway, me and Lyria made you lunch for later! Hope that gives ya somethin' to look forward to!
(Captain) flashes them a grin and gets back to tilling the land.
Wilnas: Resting, huh? They must think this an easy task.
Galleon: Proficiency.
(The singularity appears to have prior experience with farmwork.)
Wilnas: Oho, my senior in the field, eh? This trial's going to be a fun one.
Wilnas: Uoooogh!

Old Bond - Chapter 3: Living Verily - Episode 2

(Captain) keeps a steady pace throughout the day, being careful to stay hydrated and to occasionally rest. Wilnas, however, is unaccustomed to the mortal body and quickly burns out from going at full speed with no breaks. He congratulates (Captain) on the victory and extols mortals for having come so far despite having such frail bodies.

(Captain) and Wilnas resume the trial as Lyria, Vyrn, and Galleon watch.
Galleon: Woe.
(Ah, how lamentable...)
Lyria: Is something the matter, Galleon?
Galleon: Nature.
(Originally, plant and wildlife were meant to exist on a much wider expanse of earth.)
Galleon: Tarnished.
(The world's distortion removed the earth from all life in the Sky Realm.)
Vyrn: Huh? If you ask me, I'd say we've got plenty of land to go around.
Galleon: Misattribution.
(You say that because you have nothing to compare to. Many of the "islands" you know were not meant to be islands.)
Lyria: Not islands?
Galleon: Incredulity.
(It must be difficult to imagine. I pity you worldfarers...)
Galleon: Blessings.
(At least, let me offer you a blessing.)
Galleon pulls Lyria in for a kiss on the forehead, then does the same with Vyrn.
Vyrn: Whoa! Maybe you could at least warn me before you go in for the smooch!
Galleon: Grace.
(It's not much, but consider it my gift. There is no need to be bashful.)
Vyrn: Sheesh, so many weirdos among the Six Dragons...
Lyria: Ah! Vyrn, it looks like (Captain)'s about to take a break.
Vyrn: Means it's chow time!
Taking out the boxed lunch they prepared that morning, Lyria and Vyrn enjoy a meal with (Captain).
Galleon: Peace.
(What a scenic view.)
Galleon: Clamor.
(If only it weren't so noisy...)
Wilnas: Hrgh... Haah...
Hrgh... Haah...
After a refreshing lunch break and making sure to stay hydrated all the while, (Captain) manages to keep up the pace in the afternoon.
However...
Wilnas: Ergh... Oof...
Ergh...
Wilnas: Ngh...
Wilnas, on the other hand, has dropped his pace considerably since that morning.
Wilnas: Huff... Huff... What's happening...
Wilnas: It's as if the soil's gotten heavier... But Galleon hasn't added any additional weight to it.
Wilnas: Why am I so exhausted from swinging this lump of metal attached to a stick? There's no curse or magic at play...
Wilnas: Hraah... Rgh...
Galleon: ...
Wilnas: Ngh...
Lyria: Oh no! Wilnas, are you okay?
Leaving Vyrn to watch over (Captain), Lyria runs over to the Vermillion of the Six Dragons.
Wilnas: I'm... fine...
Lyria: But you look completely drained. Huh? There's not a bead of sweat on you...
Lyria: Ah!
Lyria: Wilnas! You're going to have a heatstroke if you don't drink water!
Wilnas: Heatstroke?
Lyria: Oh, I see... You didn't know because you're not used to moving around in a mortal body.
Lyria: Let's go to the shade, Wilnas!
In the shade, Lyria offers Wilnas the Vermillion a drink while watching over him.
Lyria: A wet towel on your forehead should make you feel better!
Wilnas: How embarrassing... Thank you...
Catching a glimpse of Lyria tending to Wilnas, (Captain) makes sure the two are all right before continuing to work the land.
Galleon: Time.
(The trial is over.)
Vyrn: Phew... Nice work, (Captain)!
Galleon: Inspection.
(I shall gauge the results. The soil appears... Aha.)
Lyria: Hrm...
Wilnas: Wait, Galleon! Don't say another word!
Wilnas: No matter how you slice it, the singularity's won this one! The amount of land I covered and the quality of my work can't even begin to compare!
Wilnas: Singularity, your skillful and efficient use of the mortal vessel could not be more impressive, I say!
Galleon: Praise.
(I must agree. You've cleared the trial, Singularity.)
Vyrn: Woo-hoo! Way to go, (Captain)!
Lyria: You did it, (Captain)!
Vyrn: You were pretty beat in the afternoon, Wilnas. You feelin' better after resting up?
Wilnas: Yes, I'm much better now! Of course, this happened only because I was trying to simulate in myself the conditions of a mortal!
Wilnas: A bit of mana and an elemental boost would have cleared my exhaustion instantly. Nonetheless, this has been an invaluable experience!
Wilnas: Even with such frail bodies—no, it is precisely such frailty that gives mankind their "ingenuity." Ah, what magnificence!
Wilnas: Fascinating, isn't it, Galleon? This Sky Realm!
Galleon: ...
Wilnas: Singularity. Thank you for agreeing to today's trial—nay, farmwork!
Wilnas: When the vegetables sprout from the ground, I will deliver them to you. They'll make for some fine meals!
Wilnas gives the captain a congratulatory pat on the back for a job well done.
Lu Woh: That's two trials completed...
Lu Woh: ...

Old Bond - Chapter 3: Living Verily - Episode 3

Lu Woh, showing grave concern for the world's distorted state, takes on his dragon form and challenges (Captain) to a one-on-one duel for the third trial.

Cat: Myeow...
After a long afternoon nap, the cat finally opens its eyes come night when it senses a presence nearby.
Lu Woh: Should I be glad that my turn has come?
Lu Woh: Fediel and Wilnas hardly took this seriously... Do they have no sense of urgency?
Cat: Meow...
Lu Woh: This goes without saying, but the world was a functional failure after being split in two.
Lu Woh: Basins of worldly matter can be found all over... It is only a matter of time before everything comes undone if left unchecked.
Lu Woh: Why is the god of destr... the god of the skies... slumbering away at a time like this?
Lu Woh: If he will not fulfill his role, then we Six Dragons will usurp that power and correct the world in his stead!
Lu Woh glares at the curtain of night, his fists clenched in vexation.
Lu Woh: It is my job to bring a new dawn to the Sky Realm! May the slumbering god continue to rest in peace!
Lu Woh: Singularity. Do not take this personally.
Cat: Meow.
Vyrn: Looks like you're in charge of the next trial, Lu Woh!
Lu Woh: Indeed. Your power belongs with me, Red Dragon, and I shall make it so.
Lu Woh: Singularity. If you plan on stopping me...
Lu Woh: You had best come at me with all your might!
Vyrn: The heck?
Vyrn: You totally changed your tune outta the blue...
(Captain) is equally surprised as Lu Woh scowls at them.
Lyria: Eep!
Lu Woh: The next one will not miss. Do you accept my trial, Singularity?

Lu Woh: Good. Take care not to get in the way, Girl in Blue, Red Dragon.
Vyrn: No way!
Vyrn: How do you expect (Captain) to stand a chance against you head-on!
Vyrn: If you want my power that bad, maybe—
Lu Woh: ...!

Old Bond - Chapter 3: Living Verily - Episode 4

Not wanting to see (Captain) get hurt, Vyrn offers to give up his power. Lu Woh warns that doing so may potentially lead to his death or at least cause him great harm. (Captain) is not intent on letting that happen and accepts the challenge.

Lu Woh: Uooogh!
Lu Woh the White's trial turns out to be a one-on-one battle against the dragon.
Reflecting on how kind the Six Dragons as a whole have been to them thus far, (Captain) hesitates to go all out.
Reflecting on how kind the Six Dragons as a whole have been to them thus far, (Captain) hesitates to go all out.
Lu Woh: Do not hold back, Singularity. Lest you hope for an early death.
Lu Woh: Waste not our time!
Vyrn: (Captain)!
Vyrn: Stop it already, Lu Woh! You can have my power!
Vyrn: There's no need to put (Captain) through somethin' so harsh...
Lu Woh: You accept finality then?
Vyrn: Wha?
Lu Woh: Although your power isn't quite the same as your existence itself...
Lu Woh: It is the very life force that allows you to function, Red Dragon.
Vyrn: If you're tryin' to scare me, then just give it to me straight!
Lu Woh: Ceding your power would lead to the end point of your functionality. In other words, it is possible that you would cease to function.
Vyrn: Cease to function...
Lyria: You mean...
Lu Woh: Death.
Lu Woh: Assuming your corporeal form isn't destroyed outright, granting your power to us Six Dragons—a power not originally meant for us—would at least lead to some sort of malfunction.
Lu Woh: Some of the possible effects may include bodily damage, memory loss, emotional collapse...
Lu Woh: In any case, the red dragon will not remain as he is.

Vyrn: This is a heck of a lot to take in at once!
Vyrn: And why am I hearin' this for the first time—
Lu Woh: There is no need for the vessel to know this. Nor did any of us Six Dragons need to tell you.
Lu Woh: In fact, I suspect my equals didn't tell you simply because they deemed it too minor a detail.
Lu Woh: Well, what can you expect from a group of beings that cannot distinguish between a grain of sand and an island.
Lu Woh: I offer you my respect, Singularity—with a show of force!

Old Bond - Chapter 4: Today's Whimper - Episode 1

A gravely wounded (Captain) gets back up with blue hair, only to collapse again. Seofon ends up coming in to break up the fight. Lu Woh senses great power from the both of them and leaves.

According to the dragons, Vyrn will likely no longer be himself once stripped of his power.
Faced with this new revelation, (Captain) battles Lu Woh the White in the third trial.
Lu Woh: Did you mistake our spar upon my awakening to represent the true extent of my strength?
Lu Woh: I, however, was expecting more from you!
Lyria: (Captain)!
Pushed back by a constant barrage of lightning bolts, the captain struggles to close the distance between them.
Lu Woh: I was hoping for a good fight after riling you up, Singularity. But I see you have your limits.
Lu Woh: As much as you mortals may strive for a convergence of fate, you are ultimately nothing but pawns in the grand scheme of things.
Lu Woh: I have no intention of taking your life, as long as you hand over the red dragon...
Vyrn: (Captain)! We need to stop this already!
Vyrn: Let's just give him whatever power I have! There's no need for you to get all beat up!
Vyrn: Look... I know I could get really messed up, if I even survive at all...
Vyrn: That scares me to bits, but still...
Despite Vyrn's ardent persuasion, (Captain) takes another step forward, sword at the ready.
Vyrn: (Captain)!
Lu Woh: You wish to continue the trial, Singularity?
Lu Woh: You've overcome every brush with death you've had thus far because your very nature pushes you onto the path of survival—a path that would be most improbable under normal circumstances.
Lu Woh: However, I'm afraid there is no such safeguard against me. For I represent the light itself.
Lu Woh: You should have accepted your dragon companion's mercy. It's a shame that you choose to throw your life away.
Lu Woh: ...
Seeing (Captain) lie motionless on the deck, Vyrn lets out a heart-wrenching sob.
Vyrn: (Captain)!
Lu Woh: Come, Red Dragon.
Vyrn: Sniff...
In hopes of sparing the gravely wounded (Captain), Vyrn makes to go to Lu Woh.
However, the captain stops him.
  1. Don't... go...

Choose: Don't... go...
Vyrn: Urk...
Lu Woh: ...
(Captain) pushes past the excruciating pain and rises up once more.
Lu Woh: That form...

Lu Woh: The mortal vessel can only handle so much.
Lu Woh observes curiously as (Captain) falls unconscious.
Lu Woh: ...
Lu Woh: ...!
Seofon: Didn't expect to wake up to such a ruckus on the deck. This is going too far for a trial.
Seofon: I'm not going to play nice either if you plan on keeping this up.
Seofon: You might be the pillars of the world, but I bet I've got what it takes to bring on the pain. Still wanna fight?
Lu Woh: ...
Lu Woh: One who resonates with the boundaries... You've given me much to consider.
Twisting his body, Lu Woh takes one glance at (Captain) before departing, vanishing into thin air.
Seofon: Phew...
Seofon: Boundaries, eh? More importantly...
Lyria: (Captain)! Hang in there, (Captain)!
Vyrn: Open your eyes, (Captain)!
Seofon: Guys! I'll carry the captain.
Seofon: Lyria. Can I ask you to fetch a crew member who can cast healing spells?
Lyria: Ah... Of course!
Seofon: Thanks! Vyrn, I'm gonna need both of my arms to carry (Captain), so I was hoping you could hold the door open for me.
Vyrn: Got it!

Old Bond - Chapter 4: Today's Whimper - Episode 2

While recuperating, (Captain) has a dream of getting sick as a kid and being taken care of by Vyrn in Zinkenstill. Meanwhile, Vyrn is hovering over (Captain)'s bedside, wishing he could do more for his best bud.

Having suffered major injuries in a battle against Lu Woh, (Captain) is now in recovery.
Seofon: The healing magic's patched up the wounds, but (Captain)'s lost a lot of blood. And the magic itself can take a toll.
Seofon: Now to just keep a watchful eye until our captain's stable.
Lyria: (Captain)...
Vyrn: ...
Lyria: It's going to be okay, right? We have so many people here to help...
Lyria: And (Captain)'s been through worse before...
Lyria: Surely...
Seofon: ...
Shinsha: Lyria, it's Shinsha. I'm ready to take over.
Lyria: Ah...
Nectar: Lyria, Vyrn, you need rest too. Push yourselves too hard and your bodies are going to give sooner or later.
Lyria: You're... right... Please take good care of (Captain).
Vyrn: ...
Lyria: Vyrn, let's go rest up.
Vyrn: I'm gonna stick with (Captain) for a while longer. You go ahead, Lyria.
Vyrn: You know how you and (Captain) are connected by a life link, Lyria?
Vyrn: Well, I figure the better condition you're in, the sooner (Captain)'s gonna recover.
Lyria: ...
Lyria: That's a good point! Eating right, sleeping right, and just taking care of myself will do (Captain) good.
Vyrn: Right on, Lyria.
Nectar: Vyrn. The agreement was for all crew members to take turns watching this room.
Shinsha: Imagine how surprised (Captain) would be to wake up and see you collapsed on the ground.
Shinsha: I know you're uneasy, but you should still get your rest when you can.
Vyrn: Hrm... Guess you're right.
Vyrn: Still though...
A downcast Vyrn grips (Captain)'s hand, which is peeking out from the side of the bed.
Vyrn: (Captain)...
(Captain) awakens to aches and pains all over.
Vyrn notices a change in (Captain)'s grip and calls out to the captain.
Vyrn: (Captain)... You awake?
Vyrn: Let's see how you're doin'... Hm, still runnin' a high fever.
Vyrn's expression is filled with concern as he checks the captain's body temperature.
Vyrn: We were havin' so much fun in the snow that even I got carried away... Sorry about that. I should know better than for us to stay out in the cold for so long.
(Captain) recalls pressing Vyrn for a snowball fight.
"Just a few more minutes," they told themselves. Minutes turned into hours, and before they knew it, (Captain) had caught a cold.
Vyrn: I know being stuck in bed is no fun, but the doctor said what you have isn't too bad.
Vyrn: Still sucks though, no doubt...
Vyrn: The granny next door made you some porridge. Wanna have some now?
Vyrn: Your throat hurts? Okay, no need to force yourself then!
Vyrn: You'll wanna at least take your medicine though. Then you can go back to resting up!
Urged on by Vyrn, (Captain) washes down the bitter medicine with a glass of water.
Vyrn: There we go! See? That wasn't too bad, was it?
Vyrn: All right, nap time.
Huh?
  1. Sleep with me.

Choose: Sleep with me.
Vyrn: Sure. I'll just need you to move over a bit. There...
Holding Vyrn in a warm hug, (Captain) closes both eyes.
Vyrn: G'night, (Captain). Hope you feel better in the mornin'.
Comforted by Vyrn's back rub, (Captain) falls asleep once more.
Vyrn has always stuck by the captain's side—one constant that has never changed.
Vyrn: (Captain)... It's my fault you ended up like this...
Vyrn: Wish I could do somethin' for ya...
Vyrn: I can't make you any medicine, I can't heal you—I'm hopeless...
Vyrn: How can I call myself your bestest bud if I can't do anything when it matters...
Vyrn: ...
Vyrn: If only I could absorb all your pain and take your place somehow...

Old Bond - Chapter 4: Today's Whimper - Episode 3

Lu Woh shows up before (Captain) to heal the slumbering captain's wounds. Seofon is also there, and the two have a brief chat. Lu Woh comes to realize that there is meaning in (Captain) living on with Lyria and Vyrn, then takes his leave.

Mugen: Okay...
It is now Mugen's turn to watch the captain. Seeing that Vyrn has fallen asleep on the chair, he gently places the little dragon on his lap for a more comfortable position.
Mugen: Night, Vyrn.
Mugen: (Captain)... Not awake...
Mugen: Soon... Mugen hope...
Mugen: ...!
Lu Woh: Remain quiet, please. It's best we let them rest.
Mugen: Lu Woh! You come hurt (Captain) again?
Lu Woh: No...
Mugen: Not pain... Heal?
Lu Woh: My business with (Captain) is done after all. I take my leave now.
Mugen: Wait! Mugen want talk!
Lu Woh pays no heed to Mugen and exits the room.
Lu Woh: ...
Lu Woh glances at the figure holding a blade against his neck.
Lu Woh: The vessel that galvanizes the spiral staircase leading to the outer limits.
Lu Woh: Even without that, you seem more than capable of drawing power directly from the precipice.
Seofon: There you go with that mumbo jumbo again...
Seofon: You must know the meaning of the sea of stars that I see.
Lu Woh: Sea of stars, you call it... I suppose you have shared vision with the others who stand astride the boundaries.
Lu Woh: The sky... Hm, though it should have been completely isolated from this world...
Lu Woh: The connection lingers because the umbilical cord was never severed at the time of creation. Thus what we have now is a natural continuation of that.
Seofon: Is it just me, or are you kind of talking in circles?
Lu Woh: I cannot fathom the meaning of my encounter with so many significant mortals who have ties to the boundaries all at once...
Lu Woh: But I have no doubt there is some reason for this convergence of fates.
Lu Woh: Consider how the singularity is the only one allowed to be with the red dragon and the girl in blue.
Seofon: For the sake of the world?
Lu Woh: Indeed. A higher being of our level, who defines the flow of time, has been placed accordingly to preserve the world as it is.
Lu Woh: It would appear using the red dragon's power to remedy the world is not an option. I must find other options.
Seofon: Heh... Sounds like that'd work out better for everyone.
Lu Woh: Things being as they are for the world is one thing, but I wonder what it means for a single mortal.
Lu Woh: Us higher beings prefer to pay a small price for the greater good.
Seofon: A "small price," eh?
Lu Woh: May you continue to do your best in your struggles, as shall I. For that is our only option in this incomplete world.
Lu Woh: A world so fragile at the seams...

Old Bond - Chapter 4: Today's Whimper - Episode 4

(Captain) awakens, feeling better now thanks to Lu Woh's healing. Shinsha and friends drop by in their search for the cat from earlier. Wamdus also enters the mix and announces the fourth trial.

Eyelids feeling surprisingly heavy, (Captain) scans the room.
Vyrn: (Captain)! Y-you're up!
Lyria: (Captain)! Thank goodness you're okay...
Seeing Vyrn and Lyria peek over from both sides, (Captain) recalls the grave injury suffered earlier.
Vyrn: I wasn't sure how things would pan out... You got hurt so bad that not even magic did much for you.
Lyria: I wasn't here when Lu Woh treated you. But thanks to him, you're okay now.
Vyrn: As much as we appreciate his help, we'd be better off if he never put you through that trial to begin with...
Vyrn: I shoulda guessed after Fediel, but those Six Dragons really are a crazy bunch.
As Vyrn breathes a deep sigh, a rumble sounds from (Captain)'s stomach.
Lyria: Haha, thank goodness! That's a sign that you're getting better, (Captain)!
Lyria: Something easy to digest, like soup or porridge, would be best right now. I'll make you some right away!
As (Captain) begins drinking the soup made by Lyria, a cat sneaks into the room.
Cat: Meow.
Lyria: Huh? Isn't that Shinsha's cat? It must be taking a stroll!
Ugusu: Oh, there you are! C'mon, let's not give (Captain) any trouble!
Despite Ugusu's scolding, the cat leaps up and plops down on the captain's stomach.
Cat: Meow!
Kushina: ...
(You find it yet, Ugusu?)
Kushina: ...
(Wait, what's it doing on top of (Captain)!)
Ugusu: Gah! Talk about an outrageous cat!
They try to remove the cat from the room so as to allow the captain to rest.
Nectar: (Captain). I'll move the feline at once.
Cat: Hiss!
Kushina: ...
(It's usually pretty relaxed. I've only seen it do that to Nectar.)
Nectar: Why me...
Kushina: ...
(I got it! I'm going to put it on your lap, Shinsha.)
Shinsha: Okay! My, aren't you a nice cat.
Cat: Meow.
Shinsha: Sorry to disturb your rest, (Captain).
Ugusu: So how are you feeling, (Captain)? Better, I hope?
Ugusu: Hey, I know! You can run your fingers through the feathers on my tummy! The fluffy sensation should perk you right up.
Wamdus: Oho, no kidding. That certainly is very fluffy.
Ugusu: Right? Nothing beats fluffy!
Wamdus: That's for sure. I just wish it was edible.
Vyrn: Whoa. You came outta nowhere, Wamdus...
Lyria: Huh? Oh, I didn't even notice. Hello there, Wamdus...
Wamdus: Well, my turn's next.
Shinsha: Your turn?
Kushina: ...
(You mean...)
Wamdus: Mm-hm, hope you like my trial.
Wamdus makes the announcement with little fanfare.
In spite of the captain having just woken up, it appears there is no time to rest just yet.

Old Bond - Chapter 5: Tomorrow's Blessing - Episode 1

Wamdus wants the fourth trial to be a fun one. They settle on playing a board game: sugoroku. Seofon, hoping to lower Wamdus's chances of winning, proposes that everyone joins in on the game.

Lu Woh has acknowledged completion of the third trial—during which (Captain)'s hair turned blue without the captain realizing it.
As much as the crew would like to celebrate (Captain)'s recovery from that trial, Wamdus has already announced the next one.
Vyrn: W-wait up a sec!
Vyrn: Do you realize (Captain) just woke up?
Lyria: Can't we give (Captain) a little more time to rest before the next trial?
Wamdus: Huh? I figured (Captain) would be perfectly fine after Luo's treatment.
Vyrn: That's not the point! You better not be askin' (Captain) to fight you too!
Wamdus: Fighting can be painful, and it's no fun anyway. Let's do something else.
Lyria: Ah...
Wamdus: How about something fun so that no one gets hurt this time?
Ugusu: Maybe we can play tag!
Wamdus: That would require the singularity to move, which we want to avoid.
Ugusu: Oh, you're right.
Shinsha: So... will we be playing some sort of game then?
Seofon: How about sugoroku?
Nectar: What's sugoroku?
Shinsha: It's a board game where players take turns rolling a die, moving the number of spaces that they roll. Whoever reaches the last space first wins.
Wamdus: Is that all? Sounds kind of dull...
Seofon: Haha... Wait till you see what I have in store...
Seofon: Ta-dah!
Ugusu: Huh? This board has words written everywhere.
Seofon: It's a modified version of sugoroku, where the player has to follow the directions—such as "drink an entire cup of water in one go"—written on the space that they stop on.
Lyria: This one is, "Do a handstand until your next turn." Hm... None of the movements here look too intense.
Vyrn: Then (Captain) ought to be able to play too.
Not intent on leaving the trial's outcome to a game of chance, the captain considers turning down the idea. However...
Wamdus: This couldn't be more perfect! Let's go with this!
Vyrn: Wha?
Seofon: Hm? Everything okay, (Captain)?
The flustered captain explains what losing a trial would mean for Vyrn.
Seofon: Whoa!
Seofon: That's kind of messed up. All right, let's think of something else—
Wamdus: I wanna play sugoroku.
Seofon: You're kidding... I didn't expect it to be such a big hit...
Seofon: Aww... C'mon, Wamdus! The trials are one-on-one, right? Well, sugoroku's a total bore if there are only two players!
Wamdus: Oh? What do you suggest then?
Seofon: Let all of us join in! It's soooo much more fun when you have a big group!
Seofon: (Least I can do is lower the probability of Wamdus winning...)
Wamdus: Sure. If anyone other than me wins, that's a win for the singularity.
Wamdus: (Captain)'s hurt, and I wouldn't want to take advantage of that. See how nice I am?
Seofon: Phew... Odds are in our favor at least...
Wamdus: What do we need to start this game?
Ugusu: You need snacks! I'll go get some from the kitchen!
Kushina: ...
(I don't think that's the answer she was looking for, but no matter...)
Cat: Meow.

Old Bond - Chapter 5: Tomorrow's Blessing - Episode 2

Each player must follow the instructions stated on the sugoroku tile that they stop on. It turns out to be such a fun party game that they almost forget it's a trial. Vyrn realizes that (Captain) isn't alone anymore and will probably be okay without him.

Wamdus: Muge.
Mugen: Wamdus say hungry, so Mugen bring sandwich!
Mugen: Here!
Wamdus: Nice. Wil's food is nothing to write home about, so this is a step up.
Wamdus: Nom... Nom...
Mugen: Wamdus always eat much... Not full?
Wamdus: Hm... It feels like I'm always empty inside, and I try to fill that emptiness with food.
Mugen: Empty...
Wamdus: Maybe I won't be empty anymore if I eat the red dragon's power.
Wamdus: Oh right, we have to get the game started. Wanna join us, Muge?
Mugen: Mugen know sugoroku! Play together!
Wamdus: Great. You can show me how to play, since this is my first time.
Mugen: Happy to. Wamdus.
Seofon: How many spaces do we have on the board? One, two, three...
Ugusu: You wanna play too, Shinsha?
Shinsha: I'm all right! I'm happy to be with the cat, just listening to everyone play.
Ugusu: Okay! I'm gonna play it up big-time!
Kushina: ...
(Want me to tell you which side the die lands on and the words on each space, Shinsha?)
Shinsha: Thank you, Kushina. I'll be okay, so do your best, everyone.
Nectar: Okay, Shinsha. For Vyrn's sake as well.
Wamdus: I brought Mugen. Let's start!
Seofon: Sure thing—let's draw lots to determine turn order! Who's gonna be the lucky one to go first!
Ugusu: Hooray! That'd be me!
Lyria: (Captain)'s second? Hehe, right before me!
Nectar: And I am fourth.
The remaining turn order is: Kushina, Vyrn, Wamdus, Mugen, and Seofon.
Ugusu: Gah, my feet aren't built for picking up dice! Shinsha...
Shinsha: I'll roll the dice in your place then.
Ugusu: Thank you! Here's hoping for a big one!
Ugusu: It's a four!
Kushina: ...
(And the directions after four spaces are...)
Vyrn: You've gotta mimic the fourth player, which would be Nectar!
Ugusu: Yes! Shinsha!
Shinsha: Huh?
Ugusu: Whee! I did it! I mimicked Nectar!
Yes! Shinsha!
Kushina: ...
(Pfft... He does say that a lot, doesn't he.)
Wamdus: So much so that it even stands out to me as a Nectar phrase.
Nectar: Shinsha is the one person I prioritize above all else, so it's only natural for me to say that a lot.
Seofon: Oof... He just said that with a straight face...
(Captain) is next to roll the die.
Lyria: You have to read one page of a book out loud! Hm... I think we have a copy of Popol Saga in the lounge.
Mugen: Mugen get book! Please continue.
The game of sugoroku proceeds so jovially they almost forget it is a trial.
Shinsha: Wow! You're so good at singing, Lyria!
Lyria: Ehehe.
Nectar: I have to... say a pun?
Vyrn: That's right up Siero's alley. Too bad she's not here.
Nectar: A pun... Pun...
Mugen: For instance... Have nice trip! See you next fall!
Nectar: I suppose trips are nice, but I wouldn't want to see anyone fall. That would be quite the disaster.
Shinsha: I think you have the wrong idea, Nectar. Puns are a play on words. Hm, how do I put this...
Wamdus: If you can't think of one, you can skip your turn.
Nectar: Ngh...
Kushina: ...
(Five sit-ups! That's an easy one!)
Ugusu: For a powerhouse like you, Kushina? Yeah, no kidding.
Seofon: "Change into other clothes"? Hm, what do I do here...
Vyrn: That shirt and speedbros you wore in the summer are still on the ship. Lemme grab 'em for ya!
Seofon: It's way too cold for that!
Vyrn: You got anything else to wear then?
Seofon: Urk... I left my holiday outfit with Siero for cleaning...
Mugen: Ah! Mugen go kitchen! Ask for snacks!
Ugusu: Yay! I love snacks!
Wamdus: Who's next? Roll the die!
Ugusu: Oh right! Can you do the honors, Shinsha?
Lyria: You're next, (Captain)! Can you pass it to me when you're done?
Nodding at Lyria, (Captain) grabs the die that Shinsha had just finished rolling.
Vyrn: (Feels weird seein' everyone have this much fun for a trial...)
Vyrn: ...
Vyrn turns to (Captain), hopeful that the captain will get a good roll.
Vyrn: (There were hardly any kids around (Captain)'s age back in Zinkenstill...)
Vyrn: (So outside of farmwork and sword practice, (Captain) had almost nobody to hang out with...)
Vyrn: (Other than me...)
Vyrn: (But...)
Vyrn: (Now that (Captain)'s made so many friends through our travels, I'm sure everything would be just fine without me...)
Vyrn: (And that's gotta be a good thing for (Captain).)
Vyrn: (I... I...)
Vyrn: ...

Old Bond - Chapter 5: Tomorrow's Blessing - Episode 3

In spite of the large number of players, Wamdus wins. However, she enjoyed the game so much that she announces another round of sugoroku. Mugen notices she didn't eat anything during the first round and invites her to the kitchen for some refreshments.

Seofon: It's kinda cold like this... More like it's freezing cold! I know we're indoors, but this is a bit much!
Wamdus: You'll live. It's just until your next turn anyway.
Seofon: Gah! That's gonna be a while!
Ugusu: Yum... I love the snacks Mugen brought us. Both the sweet and the sour ones!
Mugen: Explode corn. Wamdus want? Said hungry.
Wamdus: One sec. I'm counting right now.
Wamdus: Hm... Just seven spaces away... Here's hoping I get above a four this turn and next!
Lyria: I keep getting ones... There must be something wrong with the way I roll.
Wamdus: Try saying something like, "Five is my lucky number!" while snapping your wrist like this as you roll.
Lyria: So the wrist snap is the key? I'll try it next chance I get!
Spirits remain high as they approach the final stages of the game.
Vyrn: Aw, c'mon now! Can't believe (Captain) rolled a one when the goal's right there!
Ugusu: Gaahhhh! I'm hoping you all get ones so that I can catch up!
Seofon: Achoo!
Kushina: ...
(Maybe you should get yourself a blanket, Seofon...)
The tension rises as each player approaches the finish line. Wamdus rolls the die next, her expression fierce.
Wamdus: Hah!
Vyrn: Gulp... What did it land on!
Nectar: A five.
Lyria: Five? Wamdus only needs to go four more spaces to win...
Wamdus: That's right. I won.
Seofon: Whaaat...
Nectar: Seofon.
Seofon: H-hey, don't give me that cold look! How'd I know things would turn out this way!
Wamdus holds her head high, proud of her victory. (Captain), however, is especially nervous.
Wamdus: Since I'm such a nice person, I don't mind playing another round.
Vyrn: Wait... You for real?
Wamdus: I sure am.
Seofon: Perfect! Let's get another game started before she changes her mind! Back to your starting positions, everyone!
Seofon is so caught up in sugoroku that he forgets to change back to his normal attire.
Mugen: No more drinks? Mugen bring more!
Mugen: Wamdus eat little. Still hungry? Go to kitchen together?
Wamdus: Yeah, let's do that.
Lyria: Maybe you can rest a bit until the game begins, (Captain).
Taking (Captain) by the hand, Lyria brings the captain to a bench in the corner to lie down.

Old Bond - Chapter 5: Tomorrow's Blessing - Episode 4

Wamdus had forgotten all about her hunger until Mugen mentioned it. He suggests that maybe the emptiness she feels all the time stems not from hunger, but from loneliness. Realizing that simply having fun with others fills the void within her, she declares (Captain) victor of the trial and continues playing with everyone.

Wamdus: Like this... Or like that?
Mugen: ...
While heading to the kitchen, Wamdus continues to play out dice rolls in her head.
Mugen: Wamdus.
Wamdus: Yeah, Muge?
Mugen: Not hungry now?
Wamdus: I forgot all about that.
Wamdus: How strange. I've been famished ever since taking form.
Mugen: Wamdus want fill emptiness. So eat.
Wamdus: Except I couldn't fill that void no matter how much I ate.
Mugen: Empty, not stomach. Mugen think.
Wamdus: Well, something in my body's definitely felt empty. Like I was missing something.
Mugen: Mugen think. Stomach not empty. But heart.
Mugen: Empty feeling... maybe lonely.
Wamdus: Lonely?
Wamdus: I'm feeling... lonely?
Mugen: Mm. When play sugoroku, Wamdus not hungry. Not empty.
Mugen: Play fill emptiness, Mugen think. Together is fun.
Mugen: Mugen know. Mugen empty before.
Wamdus: Loneliness...
Mugen: Eat snack, play sugoroku. What Wamdus choose?
Wamdus: Sugoroku!
Wamdus: Hm. No kidding.
Wamdus: It's my loneliness that made me feel empty.
Mugen: Empty now too?
Wamdus: I... don't think so.
Mugen: Maybe not need Vyrn power. To fill emptiness.
Wamdus: ...
Wamdus: Attention.
Vyrn: Everything all right? Hope you haven't changed your mind about playin' another round...
Wamdus: Oh, we're all playing, all right. But the trial's over.
Lyria: Huh?
Wamdus: Let's call it a win for the singularity. I probably don't need Vyrn's power anyway.
Seofon: Why the change of heart?
Wamdus: I just needed to fill the emptiness inside me, and I don't need any special powers to do that.
Wamdus: This calls for more sugoroku! And then we can play other games after that!
Ugusu: You're on! I'll put up a good challenge!
Mugen: Mugen play too!
Wamdus is having so much fun that she hardly pays heed to (Captain), who is surprised to hear about the trial's conclusion.
Wamdus: Who's next? Go, go, go!
Kushina: ...
(Just gimme a sec!)
After the second round of sugoroku, they move on to card games and more.
Lyria: Wamdus is really enjoying herself.
Vyrn: Phew... As long as Wamdus is cool with this, I'm definitely not gonna complain.
Vyrn: You ought to rest up, (Captain)! It doesn't look like Wamdus minds playing with just the others.
Seeing sense in what Vyrn is saying, (Captain) returns to the captain's quarters.
Vyrn: Wamdus really got into those games, huh?
Vyrn: You were just like that too as a kid, (Captain).
Vyrn: Whenever you lost in a game of old maid, you'd stamp your foot and ask for a rematch. Haha, good times.
(Captain) lies down on the bed, pouting slightly at Vyrn's playful jab about the past.
Vyrn: Night, (Captain). And sweet dreams!
Vyrn watches the captain fall asleep from beside the bed.
Vyrn: ...
Vyrn: Yep, that's the sleeping face I know, all right...
Vyrn: (Captain)'s always been the same ol' (Captain) I watched grow up...
Vyrn: Why do these major threats keep poppin' up to give us trouble?
Vyrn: From the Six Dragons to archangels to Otherworlders to Astrals, and so much more...
Vyrn: I mean, who gives a fluff about all that singularity and destiny gobbledygook.
Vyrn: (Captain)'s my best bud, my family. And I just want (Captain) to be safe.
Vyrn: Is that too much to ask for?
Vyrn's worries are in stark contrast with (Captain)'s peaceful slumber.
In the darkness of night, the little dragon distresses over the possibility of an even darker future.

Old Bond - Chapter 6: Going for a Small Wish - Episode 1

On the night after Wamdus's trial, Galleon appears before Vyrn and recommends he cede his power in order to destroy the Otherworlders who've overtaken the land below. Vyrn accepts, believing that his sacrifice will make the path ahead for (Captain) easier.

With Wamdus's trial completed, (Captain) is back in bed recovering from the battle with Lu Woh.
Vyrn goes out onto the deck for a breath of fresh air, melancholy still clouding his mood.
Vyrn: ...
Vyrn: This is depressing! Playing all this out in my head is only bringin' me down.
Vyrn: I might as well turn in for the night with (Captain)...
Galleon: Anguish.
(It appears those capable of thought are bound to experience distress, regardless of the power they possess.)
Vyrn: Gwah!
Vyrn: Phew... It's just you, Galleon. You guys really like to pop up outta nowhere, huh?
Galleon: Priority.
(Some matters are to be prioritized over individual circumstances.)
Galleon: Individuality.
(Though to be precise, this may come off to you as my personal circumstance.)
Vyrn: So you're here 'cause something's up, right? Well, your surprise appearance put a damper on my plan to snooze, so I'm listenin'.
Galleon: Gratitude.
(Thank you, Red Dragon.)
Vyrn: Ack! No kisses needed!
Galleon: Regret.
(A shame. Blessings unto you all the same.)
Vyrn: Boy do you love your kisses...
Galleon: Deficiency.
(The earthly energy of the Sky Realm is far weaker than what was originally planned.)
Galleon: Drought.
(Kisses are my gift to those who must eke out an existence in this dried-up world.)
Vyrn: You brought that up during Wilnas's trial too. Something about there bein' way too little land in the Sky Realm.
Galleon: Imperfection.
(Yes. The world was meant to be composed of vast stretches of land as far as the eye can see.)
Galleon: Misstep.
(Unfortunately, much of that land has been taken over by Otherworlders.)
Vyrn: Otherworlders... on the land?
Vyrn: Hold on a sec... If I'm understandin' this right, you're talkin' about the Crimson Horizon!
Galleon: Regret.
(Yes. It is the place where all life was meant to prosper.)
Galleon: Temporality.
(When that did not come to fruition, the Omnipotent instead covered the world with floating islands.)
Vyrn: The Crimson Horizon... Isn't that kinda like the underworld? Hardly sounds like a place for plants and animals to thrive...
Galleon: Calamity.
(I attribute that to the Otherworlders, who have taken over.)
Galleon: Exorcism.
(My mission is to vanquish them and reclaim the land. Only then may I carry out my role...)
Galleon: Request.
(To that end, will you not consider yielding your power to me?)
Vyrn: My power...
Vyrn: (Lu Woh didn't look like he was makin' that stuff up... Givin' up my power means I won't be myself anymore...)
Vyrn: (Except there's no way I'm gonna give up bein' myself! Not in a... million years...)
Vyrn: (But...)
Vyrn: Hey... You know how gettin' to Estalucia's one heck of a journey for most people?
Galleon: Acknowledgement.
(Indeed. I must commend the singularity's bravery in choosing such a difficult path.)
Vyrn: As if just gettin' there weren't hard enough, we keep havin' to deal with other problems.
Vyrn: Like Otherworlders, fallen angels, and now you guys... The Six Dragons...
Vyrn: It shouldn't be this hard for anyone who just wants to see their dad...
Vyrn: I call myself (Captain)'s best bud, but I haven't actually done much to chip in...
Vyrn: So I was thinkin'... If you can promise to help out on (Captain)'s journey...
Vyrn: I'm cool with giving you my power. That'd probably be best for all of us.
Galleon: Affirmation.
(At the very least, Otherworlders would no longer bar the path to Estalucia.)
Galleon: Reform.
(Correcting the world's state would also be beneficial for the singularity's quality of life...)
Vyrn: I couldn't tell you if the world's "correct" or not.
Vyrn: But if my power can be used to make (Captain)'s life easier goin' forward...
Vyrn: ...
Vyrn: ((Captain)... Even if I forget everything that's happened...)
Vyrn: (You're still gonna remember it all, right?)

Galleon: Concern.
(Yes, Red Dragon.)
Vyrn: I'll give you my power.
Vyrn: But you've gotta promise to handle the Otherworlders and to watch over (Captain)!
Galleon: Commitment.
(It's a promise.)
Vyrn: (Captain)...
Vyrn: All right then! Take my power for all it's worth!
Galleon: ...
Galleon: ...
Vyrn: Wah...
Galleon: ...
Vyrn: (Captain)!
Galleon: ...
Galleon's hand is sucked into Vyrn's chest. Her fingertips draw out a radiant glow.
Vyrn: Ah...
Galleon: ...
Catching the unconscious Vyrn before he falls, Galleon drinks in the power gathered on her fingertips.
Galleon: ...!
(Captain) suddenly awakens from a deep sleep.
  1. Vyrn?

Choose: Vyrn?
The captain looks around the room for Vyrn, who is nowhere to be found.

Old Bond - Chapter 6: Going for a Small Wish - Episode 2

The next morning, (Captain) feels uneasy about Vyrn's absence. When it begins to rain mud, the Six Dragons realize Galleon must have lost control of herself after taking in Vyrn's power and offer to help the crew rescue the red dragon.

Lyria: Ah! Good morning, (Captain)! Are you feeling better?
  1. Have you seen Vyrn?

Choose: Have you seen Vyrn?
Lyria: Not since yesterday... But we're supposed to do laundry together today.
Lyria: So I'm sure he'll be up on the deck soon!
Lyria: (Captain)? You don't look too well... Maybe you haven't fully recovered yet?
Lyria: Huh? You have a bad feeling about this? You mean...
Lyria grows concerned at the uneasiness in (Captain)'s expression. They quickly make their way to the deck.
Kushina: ...
(Beautiful weather! Today's laundry should dry up pretty fast!)
Cat: Meow.
Shinsha: The weather's great for an afternoon nap too, isn't it, kitty cat.
Kushina: ...
(Would you stop playing with the laundry!)
Cat: Meorw.
Ugusu: Ugh, cats and their love of freedom... I'll help in any way I can, Shinsha!
Shinsha: Teehee. Thanks, Ugusu. You too, Mugen.
Mugen: Mugen stay ship. So Mugen help too. What Mugen do next?
Ugusu: Hey, don't forget I'm here too! Give us your orders, Shinsha!
Shinsha: Well, that clothesline could use—
Nectar: ...
Shinsha: Nectar? Is something the matter?
Nectar: Yes, Shinsha. I'm going to move you.
Shinsha: Huh?
Gripping the handles on Shinsha's wheelchair, Nectar urges everyone to move to where there is overhead cover.
Kushina: ...
(Huh? Why—)
Cat: Mewww...
Mugen & Ugusu: ...!
Mugen, too, notices something astray a moment later. He picks up Ugusu, Kushina, and the cat, then rushes to cover.
Shinsha: This rain... doesn't sound normal.
Mugen: This... mud!
Having just come onto the deck, (Captain) and Lyria stare wide-eyed at the sight before them.
Lyria: Mud rain? Is it normal for the sky to rain mud?
Nectar: Certainly not, Lyria. Even if this mud were falling on us from an island at a higher altitude, the amount we're seeing is an aberrance.
Ugusu: But it's pouring all the same everywhere! Why's this happening!
Cat: ...
Mugen: Look, there!
Amid the torrent of mud rain, (Captain) turns toward the direction Mugen points at.
Shinsha: I sense something big... Its mana is great...
  1. Galleon!

Choose: Galleon!
Kushina: ...
(She's one of the dragons who hasn't given a trial yet...)
Nectar: Of the Six Dragons, Galleon is in command of the earth element. She may have something to do with the mud rain.
Mugen: Maybe... This Galleon trial?
Amid the confusion, Shinsha focuses her heightened senses to get a better grasp on the situation.
Shinsha: This mana... I've felt it before...
Lyria: Shinsha?
Shinsha: I think... I can sense Vyrn from Galleon's mana!
Lyria: Huh?
Fediel: You went ahead and consumed the red dragon's power? What have you done, Galleon!
Lyria: Fediel!
Wilnas: Wamdus, Lu Woh, and I have come too!
Mugen: Drink Vyrn power... But trial not over!
Lu Woh: The power wouldn't have transferred unless he gave his express consent. What exactly happened here...
Wamdus: That doesn't matter now. Taking care of the mud rain comes first.
Lyria: This strange weather is Galleon's doing?
Wilnas: There's no mistaking it. This must be how she plans on weakening the Crimson Horizon.
Lyria: Wow! That sounds like it's going to take an incredible amount of rain...
Lu Woh: Galleon's certainly capable of it now. But her slipshod way of going about it is bound to have some effect on the Sky Realm.
Wamdus: Put simply, Lleon's lost control.
Ugusu: No way! Aren't the Six Dragons supposed to be, like, the most amazing dragons ever?
Ugusu: How could one of you just lose control!
Wilnas: Believe me when I say I'm in shock myself. Taking in the red dragon's power might've been a bit too much for her.
Fediel: That's not all. The power of earth in the Sky Realm is likely much weaker than Galleon had envisioned.
Lu Woh: I'm sure she was conscious of the deficiency, but perhaps not the degree of it. How pitiful...
Shinsha: Um...
Wamdus: Yes?
Shinsha: Is Vyrn still okay after handing over his power?
Shinsha: Even if the power wasn't his to begin with, there could be side effects after giving up something so great.
Lu Woh: Well, we'll just have to find out...
None too pleased with his indifferent tone, (Captain) involuntarily grabs Lu Woh by the collar.
Lu Woh: Consider the meaning of your actions, Singularity. We Six Dragons are trying to resolve the situation.
Lu Woh: And know that Galleon did not take the red dragon's power by force—
Seofon: All right, all right! That's enough chitchat!
Seofon: I know you're worried, (Captain), but you need to cool down.
Seofon: Lashing out isn't gonna help. Besides, there still might be a chance to save Vyrn, and we don't wanna miss it.
Lyria: (Captain)...
Feeling Lyria's touch, the captain removes both hands from Lu Woh and takes a step back.
Seofon: That's better.
Wilnas: We've got a real situation on our hands! We have to stop Galleon before the Sky Realm is completely covered in mud rain.
Wilnas: There's so much more I want to see of the skies. And I won't be robbed of that opportunity!
Wamdus: Since there's water mixed with the mud, I should be able to slow it down a bit.
Lu Woh: While we can deal with the rain, the problem must be eliminated at its root.
Fediel: For one thing, we can be sure that Galleon has the red dragon and his power inside that vessel.
Fediel: If we can just split the red dragon from the vessel, Galleon herself should be able to handle the rest.
Wilnas: Into Galleon then, huh...
Gran is the Main Character

Wamdus: Problem is our different elements won't play nice together inside Galleon. Who knows what might happen?

Fediel: Just what I wanted to hear! What a perfect dyad you and Vyrn make.
Wilnas: Now we're talking. Wamdus and I will scatter the rain ahead of us to create a path for the airship!
Lu Woh: Please make haste with your preparations, Singularity. The sooner we take action, the better.
(Captain) confirms the crew members' positions, then sets a course for the Grandcypher.
Lyria: Vyrn...
Lyria: We're coming to save you. Just wait for us!

Old Bond - Chapter 6: Going for a Small Wish - Episode 3

(Captain), Lyria, Seofon, and Ugusu enter Galleon to save Vyrn. Meanwhile, the other Six Dragons stave off the mud rain.

Galleon: ...
As the muddy rain continues to fall, the great dragon towers over the nearby islands.
Seofon: Luckily for us, Galleon doesn't look like she'll be moving anytime soon.
Lu Woh: She will begin moving once she's attuned to the red dragon's power. Her target is likely the Otherworlders...
Seofon: Given her size, she'd probably send any island she bumps into plummeting upside down into the depths of the skies...
Nectar: Galleon may be stationary now, but that will change the moment she gains full mastery over Vyrn's power.
Nectar: As there's no telling when that might happen, I suggest we extract and recover Vyrn without delay.
Mugen: Galleon big. For instance, Mugen can enter mouth.
Mugen: Bite, dangerous. So Mugen make Galleon mouth open!
Lyria: (Captain) and I will go in to rescue Vyrn!
Seofon: I'll come with you. We'll want the Grandcypher close to Galleon when we come out.
Seofon: So just in case Galleon moves, I'd like Mugen and Nectar to stand watch on the ship.
Nectar: Understood.
Ugusu: I wanna go in with (Captain) too!
Shinsha: Ugusu and I can talk to each other through our mana link.
Shinsha: That means our two groups will be able to communicate if Ugusu's with you. So please take him along, (Captain).
Kushina: ...
(Follow (Captain)'s orders and don't go off on your own, Ugusu!)
Ugusu: I know, I know! I'll be just fine!
Kushina: ...
(I sure hope so...)
Ugusu: I can follow directions better than the cat can!
Lyria: Now that you mention it, where'd the cat go...
Shinsha: It was just here with us. Maybe it went back inside the ship.
Ugusu: Ah, cats and their freedom...
Nectar: The cat slipping off the deck would be quite a disaster. I would say it's fulfilled its role by staying out of harm's way.
Ugusu: You think so?
Fediel: Well now, Singularity! Are your preparations complete?
Wilnas: Keep in mind this isn't just any rain! The mud is heavy enough to destroy the airship if you try to fly through it at high speeds!
Wilnas: So get in there while we keep the rain at bay!
Lyria: Okay! Let's do this!
Lu Woh: Wamdus, can you start?
Wamdus: Sure thing.
Galleon: ...
Wamdus: Good luck, Singularity.
The Six Dragons move away from the Grandcypher to go about their task. (Captain)'s group also sets out.
Lyria: ...!
Just as Galleon is about to sink her fangs into the fast-approaching Grandcypher...
Mugen: Uuoooogh!
Nectar: Godspeed, (Captain)!
(Captain) and company make their way into Galleon's body while Mugen keeps her jaw open.
Seofon: Feels more like a cave than the inside of a creature's body.
Lyria: We should watch our step, (Captain). The ground's pretty slipper—
But before Lyria can finish her sentence, the captain has already rushed on ahead.
Ugusu: Ah! Wait up, (Captain)!
Seofon: This could get dicey. Lyria, Ugusu! C'mon, we'll have to keep up the pace!
Lyria: Okay!

Old Bond - Chapter 6: Going for a Small Wish - Episode 4

(Captain) and company make their way to a mud dragon shaped like Vyrn inside Galleon. They battle the mud dragon to rescue the real Vyrn inside it.

(Captain) races through Galleon's body in search of Vyrn.
Seofon: Looks like there's no enemies here, but... (Captain)! Slow down before you get hurt!
Too focused on saving Vyrn to think of anything else, the captain slips on an uneven surface.
Ugusu: Yikes! (Captain) fell!
Lyria: A-are you okay, (Captain)?
Lyria extends a hand to the fallen captain.
Lyria: You're covered in mud, (Captain)!
Vyrn: Great. Now you're covered in mud, (Captain)!
An old memory surfaces in (Captain)'s mind as Lyria wipes mud off the captain.
Vyrn: How 'bout we take a break soon, (Captain)?
Vyrn: Swingin' that sword when you're beat isn't gonna help you improve.
Having vowed to have a father-child reunion someday, (Captain) trained daily with a sword from a young age.
As much as the captain rushed to grow up to see that dream come true, it would not be one so easily achieved.
Vyrn: I wanna go after your dad just as much as you do, (Captain)!
Vyrn: But the journey's a no-go if you wreck your body before you even get started.
Vyrn: You hear what I'm sayin'?
Vyrn: Great. Now you're covered in mud, (Captain)!
Vyrn: Sit down here—I'll wipe you down! Have a drink in the meanwhile...
Vyrn: We're gonna set out on this adventure someday.
Vyrn: Not just to see your dad, but also everything else along the way.
  1. You're coming with me?

Choose: You're coming with me?
Vyrn: You bet I'm comin' with ya! I'm not your best bud for nothin'!
Recalling the pinky promise shared between them many years ago, (Captain) is saddened by Vyrn's absence.
Lyria: Let's go, (Captain). We're going to save Vyrn!
Reinvigorated by Lyria's words, the captain presses on.
Ugusu: (Captain)! There's a big mana source flowing from that way!
Seofon: That would be the chest area. Can you sense anything, Lyria?
Lyria: Mm-hm. It's not just mana, but some sort of presence in the whole area.
Seofon: The whole area, huh? Assuming Galleon's insides are comparable to a typical creature's...
Seofon: If Vyrn's power is circulating the same way blood does, then wherever the heart-equivalent is seems like the place to look.
(Captain) and company navigate through the pulsating terrain, hoping to make their way to Galleon's heart.
???: ...!
Lyria: Ah! Isn't that...
Ugusu: Vyrn!
Vyrn?
(Captain) calls out to the mudlike, giant Vyrn, who is jutting out from the rocky surface.
Seofon: No response, huh?
Ugusu: You think Vyrn's inside that?
Seofon: We'll just have to crack it open to find out.
???: ...!
???: ...
Ugusu: Gwah!
Seofon: Looks like it's not gonna give up Vyrn without a fight.
Lyria: Eep!
Lyria: This shaking... Could Galleon have begun moving?
Ugusu: Oh no! That's bad news for the neighboring islands!
Seofon: I'd love to be gentle here, but... we need to hurry, (Captain)!
With sword drawn, the captain prepares to cut out Vyrn and stop Galleon.
???: ...!

Old Bond - Ending

(Captain) and company manage to cut Vyrn out of the mud dragon and escape from Galleon's body. The cat that had snuck aboard the Grandcypher earlier turns out to be Ewiyar the Emerald of the Six Dragons, and with her help Galleon's rampage comes to an end.

???: ...!
Struck by a powerful blow from (Captain), the mud dragon begins to wither away.
Lyria: Vyrn!
Vyrn: ...
Out of the withering sand falls Vyrn's unconscious body. (Captain) catches him.

Ugusu: Uh-oh! Everything's falling apart in here!
Seofon: Separating Vyrn from Galleon must've caused a chain reaction.
Ugusu: We need to get out of here lickety-split! C'mon, guys!
Lyria: For sure! Let's go, (Captain), Vyrn!
Clutching Vyrn in both arms, (Captain) makes for Galleon's mouth with the others.
Ugusu: Oh no! We can't get through now!
Seofon: We'll just have to find another path! This way!
Lyria: Okay!
Unable to find a route leading outside, their options for navigating Galleon's interior grow fewer as rubble continues to fall.
Seofon: This can't be good...
Seofon: I'm pretty sure we're closer to the surface now, but there's still quite a ways to go...
Shinsha: Ugusu!
Ugusu: Ah! Shinsha!
Nectar: ...
Shinsha: Ugusu! Can you hear me!
Ugusu: Yeah! We're kinda in deep doo-doo here!
Shinsha: Mugen and Nectar are trying to open up a hole in Galleon from the outside.
Shinsha: We need you to strike the same spot from the inside.
Shinsha: I'll tell you where exactly. The timing has to be just right.
Ugusu: Leave it to me! I'll coordinate this like a total pro!
Ugusu explains to (Captain) and company what the members on the ship are attempting to do.
Seofon: Got it! Time to bring out my Seven-Sword Avatars!
Seofon: Start the countdown! We go on zero!
Ugusu: Got it! Here goes... Three!
Shinsha: Two...
Ugusu: One!
Shinsha & Ugusu: Zero!
Mugen: Uoooogh!
Nectar: Haaaah!
Seofon: Heh... Our timing couldn't be more perfect, (Captain)!
Lyria: We did it! I can see outside!
Ugusu: Shinsha! I'm right here! We're all here!
Shinsha: Mm-hm! We're coming around with the ship now—
Lyria: Eek!
Galleon's body slowly tips sideways, as if she is trying to kneel down.
Seofon: We can't wait for the Grandcypher to get here! We have to jump now!
(Captain) nods and holds Vyrn close, leaving Lyria to Seofon.
Lyria: I'm ready, Seofon!
Seofon: Good! Off we go!
Ugusu: Careful, (Captain)! The ceiling's crashing down on us!
(Captain) jumps off of Galleon, aiming for the ship's deck.
Lyria: (Captain)! Vyrn!
Mugen tries to catch (Captain) but slips on the deck floor, wet from the muddy rain. The captain crashes onto the deck with a loud thud.
Mugen: Mugen sorry! (Captain) okay?
Vyrn's eyelids fly open, as if in response to the captain wincing in pain.

Vyrn: (Captain)...
Vyrn: (Captain)!
Vyrn: Wait, what are we doin' here? I thought I gave my power to Galleon...
Vyrn: What happened after that? It's all fuzzy to me... Am I still myself?
(Captain) tightly embraces the confused Vyrn.

Vyrn: Oh... So I was trapped inside Galleon, huh?

Vyrn: Oh... So I was trapped inside Galleon, huh?
Vyrn: And... you came to save me, (Captain)...
Vyrn: I did what I did for your sake, (Captain). But in the end...
(Captain) tightly grips Vyrn's paws, the dragon paws that (Captain) has come to know and love for so long.
  1. We promised to travel together!

Choose: We promised to travel together!

Vyrn: I'm sorry I gave away my power even though I knew what it might mean for me.
Vyrn: And thanks for comin' to get me!

Vyrn: I'm never gonna break a promise with you ever again, (Captain)! We're together for life!

Vyrn: I'm never gonna break a promise with you ever again, (Captain)! We're together for life!
The two exchange smiles and a big hug.
Fediel: Ohoho! Looks like I wasn't wrong about the singularity and the red dragon being a dyad!
Wamdus: Ngh...
Lu Woh: Wamdus appears to be at her limits. But that shouldn't pose a problem, as the red dragon has been retrieved.
Wilnas: Whoo-wee. It's not easy interfering with Galleon while trying to avoid affecting the earth element too much.
Lu Woh: ...
Lu Woh: Ewiyar! Would you stop lounging about already!
Lu Woh: I know you're there! Lend us a hand!
Cat: Meow...
Cat: Hehe...
Cat: They're hopeless without me.
Wilnas: Here she comes!
Cat: Meow!
Ewiyar: Say hello to your true savior, Ewiyar!
Ewiyar: Get on your knees and sing your praises to me, everyone!
Fediel: I bet you were just lazing about again.
Lu Woh: Truth be told, Fediel, you're not much better on most days.
Wamdus: Ewiyar, keep Lleon's power in check. I'll handle the rest.
Ewiyar: Hm? That sounded an awful lot like an order to me!
Ewiyar: You're supposed to say, "Please, oh great and almighty Ewiyar!"
Wilnas: Would you just do it already!
Ewiyar: Heheh. I'll get back to you on that.
Fediel: Oh my...
Fediel: If this goes on, I may never have the chance to observe dyads again. This is bad...
Lu Woh: Do you mean to shirk your duty in upholding the world's state?
Ewiyar: Eek!
Ewiyar: Why, I never said that! Here I am coming to help you!
Wamdus: Go, go, Ewiyar.
Ewiyar: Hahah! That's all I needed to hear!
Ewiyar: Now then...
Ewiyar: Time to chip away at the overgrowth of elemental earth!
Ewiyar: ...!
Galleon: ...!
Struck by Ewiyar's powerful magic, the rampaging Galleon changes into her mortal form before collapsing.
Wilnas: And that's a wrap! A job well done, everyone!
Lu Woh: Yeah, that should do it.
Lu Woh: Somehow, this feels more like a new beginning than an ending...
With the threat presented by Galleon thwarted, Vyrn is recovering from the harrowing experience.
Vyrn: Um, (Captain)?
Vyrn: It's not like I'm in pain or anything. I just need a bit of rest is all.
Vyrn: There's no need to stick to me like glue if you've got other stuff to do...
(Captain) presents Vyrn with a spoonful of grated apple.
Vyrn: If you really wanna take care of me, that's cool too.
Vyrn: Aaahh...
Vyrn: Yum, that taste never gets old! Hehe, thanks for preppin' my favorite food, (Captain)!
Vyrn: Wait, why are you so happy when you're the one doin' the work?
The two share a peaceful moment as (Captain) continues to watch over Vyrn's recovery.
Vyrn: C'mon in! We're up!
Galleon: Intrusion.
(Singularity, Red Dragon, I must speak to you.)
Vyrn: Ah! Galleon...
Galleon: Delight.
(I'm pleased you are well.)
Galleon: Repentance.
(Allow me to apologize for my grave offense.)
Vyrn: Er... Well...
Vyrn: I mean, you were only makin' a suggestion. I'm the one who took you up on the offer.
Vyrn: So don't blame yourself. You tell her too, (Captain).
Wanting to respect Vyrn's wishes on the matter, the captain chooses to forgive and forget.
Galleon: Respect.
(I thank you for your mercy. And...)
Galleon politely bows, then approaches the bedside.
Galleon: Blessing.
(Many blessings upon your journey.)
Vyrn: Ah! Smooched me again!
Vyrn: I'm sure you mean well, so it's all good though...
(Captain) tries to lighten the mood by imitating Galleon's actions and puckering both lips at Vyrn.
Vyrn: Aw, cut that out!
Vyrn: I think that's one weird habit you could do without, (Captain)!
Galleon: Normalcy.
(I believe there is nothing abnormal about it.)
Grinning at Galleon's words, (Captain) offers a suggestion.
  1. Wanna go on a date, Vyrn?

Choose: Wanna go on a date, Vyrn?
Vyrn: Wha? A date?
Vyrn: You mean like when you went out with Lyria?
Vyrn: Hehe, I like the sound of that! If I'm gonna be honest, I got kinda jealous seein' you and Lyria together.
Vyrn: Take me on a date when I'm better, (Captain)... I'm holdin' ya to it!
The two entwine their fingers in a pinky promise.
Making a silly promise the way they often did so many years ago, the two are ready to continue journeying to the ends of the skies, along with all the friends they've made along the way.
The End

Old Bond - Easygoing Dragons - Episode 1

The Six Dragons—save for Ewiyar who is still lounging on the Grandcypher—have a chat at Wilnas's food stall. They discuss other beings who have as much influence on the world as they do—beings such as the omnipresent wedge of time, Orologia, and the wedge of life and death who's gone by different names and forms. On the Grandcypher, Nectar looks into the distant skies as if realizing something, but for now he only wishes to live in peace with Shinsha.

Ewiyar: Meow.
Some time has passed since the resolution of the Six Dragons incident.
Ewiyar napping on the Grandcypher has since become a regular sight on the ship.
Shinsha's Voice: Kitty cat?
Ewiyar: Meow!
Lyria: Oh, Shinsha! So this is where the cat was!
Shinsha: Teehee, I noticed it loves basking in the sun around this hour when the weather's as nice as it is today.
Lyria: Aren't you a sweet little cat!
Ewiyar: Purr...
Lyria: Your fur's a bit tousled today. But it's nothing a bit of brushing can't fix!
Ewiyar: Mew.
Shinsha: We have steamed chicken today as a snack. Let's have some when Lyria's done brushing you, kitty cat.
Ewiyar: Meorw!
Ewiyar: (Haha, life is good! That's how all people should treat me—with praise and adulation!)
Ewiyar: (How smart of me to turn into a cat, a form that mortals show unbound reverence for.)
Ewiyar: (Even the one who draws power from the boundaries finds me a charmer! People just love me!)
Ewiyar: (The other wedges are fools for taking on the forms of people.)
Lyria: I love how you're so fluffy, kitty cat. I could pet you all day!
Ewiyar: Mew-mew...
Ewiyar: (Ah, paradise...)
Ewiyar: (Wait, why was I seeking greater power to begin with?)
Ewiyar: (Hrm...)
Shinsha: Chopping this chicken into smaller pieces will be easier to eat... Here you go, kitty cat!
Ewiyar: Meomeow!
Ewiyar: (No matter! Life is good now, and that's what counts!)
Fediel: That's how Ewiyar put it, so the red dragon's power holds little interest for her now as well.
The Six Dragons, save for Ewiyar, are convened at the food stall Wil's Mess—not for a formal meeting but rather to hobnob.
Lu Woh: I would chalk it up to the vagrant tendencies of wind... Caprice is in her nature.
Wamdus: Access to good food is important after all.
Wilnas: Wise words, Wamdus! I couldn't agree more!
Wilnas: You ought to try some of this homegrown, freshly roasted peeled eggplant!
Wamdus: Sure. Nom...
Wilnas: How is it?
Wamdus: Mm... I can only taste the charcoal you cooked it on.
Galleon: Charcoal.
(Wamdus might be able to find some nutritional value in this, but I doubt the same can be said for mortals.)
Wilnas: Urk!
Wilnas: Uh, what a hot mess I am... As much as I'd like to make amends to that town for accidentally scorching it when I first materialized...
Wilnas: I'll never be able to help out at the soup kitchen if I don't become a better cook.
Lu Woh: While I commend your attitude, I'm not sure it's necessary to assist at the soup kitchen...
Galleon: Agreement.
(On the matter of redemption, I wish to apologize to all life in the Sky Realm.)
Galleon: Shame.
(Though I had only meant to destroy the Otherworlders, I ended up causing quite a problem for everyone.)
Wamdus: Well, we cleaned up pretty nicely. So I'm sure it's okay now.
Lu Woh: It's all because god abandoned the world in its twisted state...
Lu Woh: If not for that, we would never have even considered tearing the singularity and red dragon apart from each other.
Wamdus: It still bothers you, Luo?
Lu Woh: ...
Wilnas: If you have trouble choosing the right words, maybe you can try Galleon's method of telepathically communicating your thoughts!
Lu Woh: That comes with its own set of problems. I can't afford to be as insouciant as the rest of you.
Galleon: Dissatisfaction.
(Indeed. The sooner we destroy the Otherworlders, the better...)
Fediel: Speaking of, I hear god has been giving revelations on how to deal with the Crimson Horizon.
Fediel: I spotted a Human girl assisting the singularity with speaking on such matters.
Galleon: Delay.
(Too slow... Still, it's better than complete inaction.)
Lu Woh: Shoddy not only in creation but management of the world... Defeating god himself may be an option we'll have to consider in the future.
Lu Woh: It may be possible to recruit those born and fallen from the stars.
Wamdus: I guess they are out of a job right now, after all?
Wilnas: Lu Woh, I suggest being more forward about what a nice guy you are!
Lu Woh: Would you stop seeing compassion in everything I do!
Fediel: As twisted as it may be, the Sky Realm is currently stable. Would you stop a running dam that people find useful—imperfections and all?
Lu Woh: Its current state is a lull. The imperfections will eventually breed more imperfections, leading to a complete collapse.
Lu Woh: Although Orologia does seem to be using his omnipresent nature to adjust the world's fate accordingly.
Wamdus: I haven't met Logia yet.
Lu Woh: Nor have I. I wonder if Orologia's played a part in allowing (Captain) to function as the singularity...
Wilnas: If he has, then he's definitely chosen a fitting mortal for the job!
Lu Woh: But mortals are just mortals in the end. We cannot leave the fate of the world entirely to them.
Galleon: Limits.
(The singularity's actions alone would not be enough to reverse the Sky Realm's distortions.)
Galleon: Loss.
(If we go back further, removing the wedge responsible for life and death was a mistake on the part of the Omnipotent.)
Wamdus: Um... What was his name again?
Wilnas: Now that you mention it... Gaokerena, I think?
Wamdus: Wasn't it Austras?
Fediel: I'm fairly certain it was Kamuzumi.
Galleon: Pity.
(He was tossed away before his name and appearance took root.)
Lu Woh: Nonetheless, life and death would never disappear entirely from the Sky Realm, a place born of the god of destruction.
Lu Woh: With me representing life and Fediel representing death, we've been able to uphold those tenets for the time being.
Galleon: Peace.
(He continues to exist in the Sky Realm as an individual life-form.)
Fediel: With a dyad in place, he seems to be doing well.
Lu Woh: Fediel... Why do you care so much about the coupling of dyads?
Lu Woh: You are the wedge signifying the end of all things, yet your interest lies in the opposite.
Fediel: Ah! I'm glad you asked!
Fediel: Because while we Six Dragons think we know the world, we tend to be oblivious to what we don't know.
Wilnas: The truth stings like a hot pepper!
Galleon: Deficiency.
(Furthermore, it's hard to say we always make the best use of the info we have.)
Wamdus: Me? I just like seeing and learning new things.
Wamdus: About different games, resorts... There's just so much out there.
Fediel: That's exactly it!
Fediel: We must interact with mortals in order to truly understand this world.
Fediel: It is then, and only then, that we can begin to make proper decisions concerning the world's distorted state.
Wamdus: Well said.
Galleon: Amazement.
(What a surprise to hear such a calm and rational opinion from Fediel...)
Lu Woh: I don't mean to spoil the mood, but Fediel is simply good with phrasing. And she's phrasing her enjoyment of things in a very altruistic light.
Wilnas: Gaokerena seems like the perfect person to ask if you want to see more dyads up close.
Wamdus: Austras.
Fediel: He doesn't even go by Kamuzumi now.
Lu Woh: His current name is—
Nectar: ...
Shinsha: Nectar? Are you okay?
Nectar: Yes, Shinsha. I must have mistaken the sound of the wind for something else.
Shinsha: Well... As long as you're feeling fine... Don't push yourself too hard, okay?
Nectar: Yes, Shinsha.
Nectar leans over to get a closer look at Shinsha's face.
Ewiyar: Hissss!
Shinsha: Eep! Wh-what's wrong, kitty cat?
Ewiyar, sitting on Shinsha's lap, hisses menacingly at Nectar, her fur bristling.
Shinsha: Hrm... It's strange how the cat doesn't seem to like you very much, Nectar.
Ewiyar: Meow!
Nectar: Cats are a complete mystery to me...
Shinsha takes her hand off the cat and puts it on the crestfallen Nectar, hoping to console him.
It is a heartwarming sight, the world still oblivious to the impact that those onboard the ship have on all life.
