Thus Speaks Nemo Santa
One day, (Captain) runs across snowy plains with Nemone, clad in a Santa outfit, in both arms. This is practice for the upcoming Holiday Eve Partner-Carry Dash. The grand prize is a pair of matching dolls that Nemone wants to win for her sisters.
(Captain) runs along snowy plains so cold that every breath taken is visible.
Nemone is a crew member
Nemone, clad in a Santa outfit and carried by (Captain) like a princess, clings to the captain as if her life depends on it.
Nemone: Nyehehe, you're doing great. Keep it up, (Captain)!
Nemone not in crew
A girl, clad in a Santa outfit and carried by (Captain) like a princess, clings to the captain as if her life depends on it.
Nemone: Nyehehe, you're doing great. Keep it up, (Captain)!
The girl's name is Nemone. She met the crew while on a journey to find her little sister.
Nemone: Hello there, you must be quite the charismatic captain to bring all these people around you.
Nemone: We've met before, haven't we? Maybe this is fate, hm? I haven't made it very far all by my lonesome...
Nemone: That's why I should come with you! If I traveled on your ship I'm sure I'd find my dear little sister in no time!
Nemone: Well then, sounds like you've come to a decision! Can I come with you?
Vyrn: Jeez, you aren't afraid of influencing the decision are you? Sure, you can come.
And thus the happy-go-lucky girl calling herself Nemone began traveling with the crew.
Nemone: It's so warm and comfy being in your arms, (Captain). I might as well be in heaven!
Nemone's words give the captain reason to ponder the situation.
Choose: Why am I doing this again?
Nemone: Uh-oh. Suffering from memory loss already, (Captain)?
Nemone: Guess that means it's storytelling time! Just this once!
Nemone: Once upon a time, there was a great skyfarer captain...
Choose: I'm actually doing this because...
Nemone: (Captain)? I can't believe you're lost in thought when you get to feel me up close. What a waste.
Nemone: Oh well... Guess I'll have to keep my eyes on the road so that you can focus on your thoughts!
Nemone: All righty!

One morning, (Captain) visits Nemone in her room by her request.
Nemone: Come right in, my very special guest!
(Captain) opens the door to find Nemone dressed in a Santa outfit.
Nemone: Ta-dah! You get a front-row seat to the grand reveal of Nemo Santa!
Nemone: What do you think, (Captain)? Aren't I so incredibly charming in my new digs?
Nemone: Nyehehe... You're making me blush with your unbridled enthusiasm.
Nemone: I should've known... You always were a pro at tickling my soft spot.
Nemone: Anyhoo! Now that the unveiling's over, there's only one thing left to do!
Choose: Cute, but aren't you cold?
Nemone: Praise and affection at the same time? You're a real pro at this, (Captain)!
Nemone: If I told you there's a spell on my outfit that makes the fabric lining constantly burn to keep me nice and warm... then I'd be lying!
Nemone: But no worries! I'm a naturally outdoorsy person as a Kahuan, so this is nothing to me!
Nemone: And that's that! Don't mind what happens next, (Captain)!

Nemone latches onto the captain with all her might.
Nemone: Careful, (Captain)! I'm going to fall without your support!
Not wanting an accident to happen, (Captain) carries her in both arms.
Nemone: I fit so snugly in your arms! Okay, (Captain)—my life is in your hands now!
Nemone: Full speed ahead! No stopping!
Caught up in the momentum of the situation, (Captain) follows her directions to the letter and runs outside.
Nemone: And that's how we ended up racing across the plains under these frigid skies.
Nemone: There, I'm sure that cleared everything up! But if you still have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!
(Captain) takes a moment to ponder the situation.
Choose: What's the Santa outfit for?
Nemone: Oh right, I still haven't told you about Nemo Santa's creation myth.
Nemone: Oh, you have other questions too? Quite thirsty for knowledge today, aren't you?
Nemone: But one thing at a time. Let's talk creation myth first!
Choose: Nope, I'm only more confused now.
Nemone: Strange. I was sure I gave you the perfect explanation...
Realizing that Nemone is playing dumb, (Captain) protests by making to let her down without a word.
Nemone: Nooo! Stop! I was only kidding! Please don't leave me in the wilderness to fend for myself!
Nemone: Fine, you win... Let me tell you about the Nemo Santa creation myth.

(Captain) comes to a full stop. Nemone remains clinging to the captain as she begins her story.
Nemone: It all began when Lulu asked me about holding a holiday party in Kahua.
Nemone: She's my dearest, cutest big sister!
Nemone: She works so hard as queen of her people. Oh, and did I mention she's cute? Yep, that's my sister!
Nemone: Yep! Me and Melleau's big sister, queen of Kahua!
Nemone: It's nice to see that her many charms made an impression on you, (Captain)!

Nemone speaks proudly, her chest puffed.
Nemone: Lulu asked me a bunch about what the holidays are like on other islands.
Nemone: She couldn't stop thinking about Santa once she heard about the guy.
Nemone: "Nemo, isn't there anything I can do to get Santa to visit Kahua?" You should've seen how excited she was!
Nemone: She was sooo cute! Always stay pure, Lulu! Love you! You're the best!
Nemone: Unfortunately, Kahua doesn't seem to be on Santa's travel route...
Nemone: And that's when I made up my mind! I decided I was going to transform into Nemo Santa for the sake of my sisters!
Nemone: My brain did double duty as I stayed up all night deciding on the perfect outfit! And this is what I came up with!
Finally having some understanding of what's going on, (Captain) throws her the next question.
Choose: Why am I carrying you?
Nemone: That's a secret for the ages!
Nemone: No, no, I'm just kidding! I'll let you in on the secret, so please don't give me that cold look!
Nemone: I find a cold shoulder from Melleau really stimulating, but it just hurts when it comes from you!
Nemone: The answer's that way! It's gonna come running straight at us any second now!
Choose: Why am I running like I'm a horse?
Nemone: Oh, you were wondering about that? I wish I had a riveting tale to explain it, but I can't think of one right now.
Nemone: Either way, you'll have an answer soon enough.
Nemone: Look, something's coming from that direction!

(Captain) spots a large stampede rushing toward them from the distance, sweeping up a massive cloud of dust.
Male Contestant: Raaah! We'll be the ones to come out on top in the Holiday Eve Dash!
Female Contestant: We certainly will, darling! Nothing's going to stop us in our path to victory!
Boy Contestant: You oughta know teamwork matters way more than endurance in this run!
Girl Contestant: Yeah, just look at how good our coordination is! We're the ones who are gonna take home the grand prize!
While trading quips, the many teams of two rush past (Captain) and Nemone.
Seeing this, the captain poses a question.
Choose: What's the Holiday Eve Dash?
Nemone: I have to say, (Captain), you ask the best questions!
Nemone: As the name implies, it's a race that happens right before the holy night... A race that you and I are gonna get down and funky in!
Choose: Was that the answer you mentioned?
Nemone: Ding-ding-ding! Right you are! Those guys were practicing for the Holiday Eve Dash!
Nemone: And it's our destiny to get down and funky with them!

Nemone proudly points to herself and (Captain).
Nemone: The full name of the event is actually Holiday Eve Partner-Carry Dash!
Nemone: The rules are simple enough. One of the pair has to run an obstacle course while carrying the other!
Nemone goes on to explain that the race is held in a nearby town and will last for a few days before the holiday eve.
And that everyone curently running on the plains is practicing for the main event.
Nemone: The grand prize for the winners is...
Nemone: An adorable pair of dolls!
Nemone: The couples or friends holding the dolls are said to get along like peas and carrots forever and ever...
Nemone: The dolls make for nice good luck charms.
Nemone: And well...
Nemone pauses for a moment before mumbling her next words.
Nemone: I was thinking of handing them off to Lulu and Melleau.
Nemone: Then I'd never have to worry about the two fighting ever again...
Nemone: So yeah, those dolls are the perfect gift to bolster my dear sisters' relationship!
Nemone: Nyehehe, so what do you think? Doesn't the bottomless depths of my sisterly love just blow your mind?
Nemone then clasps both hands in a supplicating gesture.
Nemone: So please, (Captain). Won't you help me show my love for my sisters!
Nemone: You're the only one who can be my partner for the race!
Nemone: Please, please, pretty please!
Understanding where Nemone is coming from, (Captain) has but one gripe.
Choose: No doll pair for you and me?
Nemone: Ah...
Nemone: You want a symbol of love for the two of us?
Nemone: Hm, the prize has to go to my sisters...
Nemone: I know! I'll be your holiday present!
Nemone: Huh? Um, well...
Nemone: The two of us are already lovey-dovey!
Nemone: It's as if I'm the good luck charm! That's why the two of us don't need any dolls!
Nemone: But if it's a holiday present you're looking for, then look no further! I'll be your present!

Seeing Nemone's embarrassment, (Captain) gushes with laughter.
Nemone: Wait, (Captain)! You were teasing me just now?
Nemone: Gah! I can't believe I let myself get so flustered!
As if apologizing for the earlier remark, (Captain) agrees to participate in the race.
Nemone: Doggone it! The cost for teasing me is not cheap! You'll have to nab me the grand prize for the Holiday Eve Dash!
Nemone: Okay! Now that we've established that, it's time for practice! Off to the horizon and beyond we go!
Agreeing with that conclusion, (Captain) starts running once more with Nemone in both arms.
Nemone: (Whew, played it safe. (Captain) came pretty close to discovering my secret plan...)
Nemone: (If that came to light, it would've been more than my face that turned red... Nyehehe.)
While entrusting her body to (Captain), Nemone mutters to herself.
It will not be until the day of the race that the captain realizes her true intentions.
