The enigmatic pilot of Evangelion Mark.06. He speaks and acts as though he has long known Shinji—and indeed, upon their first meeting, Shinji instinctively feels he can trust him. An anomaly whose memories of the Evas and their original world were never sealed, he recognized early on that the primal beast Elpis had brought them to the Sky Realm. Since arriving on Hitakami Island, he has secretly monitored the nepsis and subdued violent monsters to protect Shinji's peaceful life.
