About Befoulment
Some weapons have befoulments (BFs), special skills that put allies at a disadvantage. The details of a weapon's befoulment, including effects and effect rates, are decided at random when the weapon is obtained.
Befoulment Functionality
- ATK Lowered - A unique multiplicative ATK modifier.[1]
- DEF Lowered - Stacks additively with from the Bloodrage weapon skill. Multiplicative with character passives such as
Vengeful Predator70% hit to DEF.
Guaranteed triple attacks.
40% boost to dodge rate. and artifacts that grant -70% DEF.[2] - Multiattack Rate Lowered - Stacks additively with all other sources of multiattack.
- Befoulments use their own stacking category for weapon boosts, so boosts to multiattack are still limited to 75%.
- C.A. DMG Lowered - A unique multiplicative ATK modifier only for C.A. DMG.[1]
- Separate from ATK Lowered, so 50% of each would result in only 25% of normal C.A. damage.
- Skill DMG Lowered - Stacks additively with skill damage modifiers.[1]
- Skill DMG Lowered -100% would result in
Twin Coil2-hit, 200% elemental damage to all foes (Damage cap: 405,000 per hit). dealing 100% per hit instead of 200%.
- Skill DMG Lowered -100% would result in
- HP Lowered - A unique multiplicative HP modifier.[3]
- Turn Damage - Deals uncapped plain damage to each ally at the end of turn based on their max HP.
- Debuff Success Rate Lowered - Stacks additively with all other sources of Debuff Success Boosted.[4]
Exorcision Lvl
Weapons are exorcised by consuming a selection of treasure based on the weapon, which will raise its Exorcision Lvl. Each increase in the Exorcision Lvl will reduce the befoulment's effect rate by a randomized amount.
This can be done on the Exorcision screen, which can be accessed by tapping the Exorcision button on the weapon's details screen.
The maximum Exorcision Lvl is 5 and newly acquired weapons start at Lvl 1.
Permeation
A representation of the extent an item is befouled from the start. The higher the value, the greater the detrimental effect. A Permeation level of 1 indicates the lowest possible value, and a level of 6 indicates the highest. Permeation won't be affected even when Exorcision Lvl rises.
The chance for a weapon to be a given permeation when acquired is the following:[5]
| Permeation | Chance |
|---|---|
| 1 | 5.71%Based on 37 drops out of 648 samples |
| 2 | 10.03%Based on 65 drops out of 648 samples |
| 3 | 33.18%Based on 215 drops out of 648 samples |
| 4 | 27.62%Based on 179 drops out of 648 samples |
| 5 | 14.97%Based on 97 drops out of 648 samples |
| 6 | 8.49%Based on 55 drops out of 648 samples |
- This data is based on weapons dropped from the 18 player raids; it is unknown if the 6 player raids share the same distribution.
Befoulment Inheritance
Weapons with befoulments can be selected as a base weapon to inherit weapon level, skill level, and uncap status from a selected source weapon. The source weapon needs to have the same name as the base weapon.
- The base weapon will only inherit stats that are higher than its own.
- The base weapon will not inherit the source weapon's befoulment.
- Weapons with lower weapon lvl, skill lvl, and uncap status than that of the base weapon cannot be used as source weapons for inheritance.
- Weapons must not be favorited when attempting inheritance. The weapon inheriting stats will automatically replace the source weapon in any weapon grid it was equipped in, unless it is stored in a stash.
Select a base weapon on the Weapon Upgrade screen to perform inheritance.
Befoulment Values
Befoulment skills are generated with values selected randomly from a predefined range.
