Happy New Year, (Captain)! I'm so lucky I get to spend this time with you!
How about I give you a special traditional performance on the lute to mark the occasion?
Haha. And to go along with it, a story of how Dad would always put on an old man's mask during New Year's.
Well, it was more of a rite than a story. He'd pray for everlasting peace in the country and the world at large.
At one point, even royalty and nobility would ask him to perform the rite.
Wait, I've said too much! It's probably best if you experience it for yourself!
Drawn from memory
A way to wash one's misdeeds

2 ✔

Wahaha! Congratulations! It's time to celebrate, (Captain)!
Hehehe... We need to put on another grand performance this year.
We can't do it here and now, though... Sorry, but You and the others want to join in.
We'll all play our roles and enjoy the New Year's celebration together!
Hehehe! I truly hope that the road you travel this year will be smooth and beautiful...
I'll go and make preparations. Look forward to it, (Captain)!

Valentine's Day Cutscenes

Happy Valentine's, (Captain).
Mm-hm, of course I brought chocolate. I... poured my love into making them.
To be honest... I wasn't too sure about handing them over.
Strange how I couldn't make up my mind right in front of you. But now that I have...
My heart feels funny.
"Love" is an incredibly strong word for me right now. Maybe too strong...
But then I remembered I have to keep moving forward, to keep Dad's memory alive!
Well... I hope you enjoy the chocolates, dearest (Captain)!

2 ✔

Happy Valentine's, (Captain)...
Of course, I poured my feelings into the chocolate I prepared for you...
Well, uh... Waha. It's just... I thought this feeling in my chest would settle down...
But now that my love is clear, the beating of my heart only seems to be getting louder.
I'm reminded of how wonderful this day is. Everyone confronts their own embarrassment to convey their feelings.
Hehe... Yes, that goes for me, too. That's who I am now.
There's a blush on Sui's cheeks as she hands her chocolate to (Captain).
I am truly happy to be able to present you with a gift again this year.
Please enjoy the sweetness that contains my love for you.
I love you, (Captain)!

1 ✔

Happy White Day! I'm here to collect!
Yep! I know what I want, and I won't feel ashamed for it!
Aha... Just thinking that I might get something today made my heart flutter, just like when I gave you the chocolates on Valentine's...
I didn't want to be overcome with embarrassment and run off... so here I am taking the opposite approach!
There's no escape when I'm on the offense, (Captain)! Go ahead and show me how grateful you are!
(Captain) hugs the encroaching Sui, her face flushed red.
Waha! That was... unexpectedly passionate. Huh? There's candy too?
Waha, ahaha... You really thought of everything, (Captain). This hug though...
It's making my chest feel funny... Much more than usual... Er, maybe you can let go now?
(Captain)? Um, (Captain)? What's with the huge grin?
Choose: What's shameful about a hug?
Huh? You don't know any shame either? H-hey, that's my line...
I... I guess I'll just have to take in your warmth until some of that shame settles in then.

2 ✔

Oh... Th-this is your return gift, right? I'm really grateful...
Ah, well... You taught me a bit about modesty last year, you know?
That helped me really understand my feelings... The closer this day came, the hotter my chest burned.
It didn't hurt or anything. In fact, I've been... looking forward to this.
Oh, I'm so happy to be able to receive a sign of your feelings. Can I make one selfish request?
I just need a bit of your time.
With a blush in her cheeks, Sui buries her face in (Captain)'s chest.
Let me stay here until the beating subsides a little... Hehehe!

Trick or Treat Cutscenes

1 ✔

Happy Halloween!
Hope you're ready for a trick, (Captain)! Huh, you have candy for me? But then that means I don't get to do my trick...
Oho, looks like you don't have enough candy to give to every one, two, three...
Four, five, six...
And a ton more of me! Yeah, you definitely don't have enough! Time for that trick then!
From every last one of me!
I've shut the door. Waha, there's no escape, (Captain).
Ready or not, here I come!

2 ✔

Happy Halloween, (Captain)!
(Captain) returns to find countless Sui waiting inside.
Waha, waha, wa!
Clones again this year, you sigh,
"No flair at all, huh?"
Indeed, I agree.
No more swarming for sweets now,
we'll show restraint too.
Why multiply so?
A fair question, certainly.
And the answer is...
Many Sui surround,
tails held proud against their chests,
pressed to you close.
It's Sui fluff o'clock!
Feathery fluff without end,
to your heart's content!
So many young ones,
their mischief must tire you.
Take comfort for now.
When both heart and form
turn to gentle, weightless fluff,
a sweet treat would please.

Happy Holidays Cutscenes
# Link Text
1 ✔

Happy holidays, (Captain).
The jolly old man in red known as Santa Claus is supposed to show up tonight, right?
Daddy told me all about him! He sounds like a great guy.
As much as I'd like to meet him...
I can't be sure I'm not on his naughty list. He probably wouldn't want to see me...
Choose: No worries, Sui. You're a great kid.
Haha, thanks, (Captain). It's a huge relief to hear that from you.
Waha, that's enough sentimentality for one day! Now we exchange stories while waiting for the jolly old man to show up!

2 ✔

(Captain)! Look—When I woke up, there was a gift on my pillow!
Hehe, and how thoughtful! One is for adult Sui and the other for child Sui... We each received one.
I suppose that means that the gentleman in red really did visit.
If that's true, I couldn't be any happier than I am now. I mean it...
I didn't manage to meet him this year or the last, but... if I were to meet him...
I would regale him with stories of children all across the skies. I'm sure he'd love them if I put all my effort into telling them.
I hope you'll be there to hear the stories, too, (Captain). Ehehe...

Posthumous Poetry

The remaining fragment of the freak of nature wavers over the morality of living on as Kuzure's daughter, Sui. But after attending a festival with Yuel and Societte where the locals give the aberration a lute that Kuzure left behind for it, the aberration gains the strength and will to move on as Sui.

Both: Stay close, but not too close!
The sudden appearance of the two is marked by a firm declaration.
Kou, You, Societte, and Yuel—four mysterious Erunes with fox ears and tails.
Being descended from lost royal families, they each possess the power of Ninetails and are currently enlisted in (Captain)'s crew.
They have recently befriended a fifth royal family successor.
That successor is likely the one currently being tailed by Kou and You. Her name is—
Sui: Sui.
Sui: Traversing the skies

A true, beloved daughter

Now dust in the wind
Playing a lute covered in a jade flame, the girl utters her own name as if it were someone else's.
Truth be told, Sui both is and is not herself.
She continues plucking away under the tree's shadow, speaking in hushed tones to the gentle jade flame before her.
Sui: A most tragic tale

Of love known and held steadfast

And lost, all for what?
Sui: Fire of life kindled

The seventh's marvelous gift

Instilled a new hope
Sui: O dearest Father

The flame you thought the world of

Flickers to this day
She stops playing to whip up a mixture of black mist and jade flame with her right hand.
She stares longingly at it through her face veil.
Sui: This form nothing more

Than a wish of who she'd be

Had the girl lived on
Sui: A freak that's lost all

Hopes to make up for lost dreams

But still she falters
Images of loved ones flash through the mind of this aberration taking on Sui's form.
Those loved ones fully acknowledged the aberration as a friend, as Sui.
Sui: It makes me happy to know they care about me... And as long as that's true, I guess it's okay for me to keep being Sui...
Sui: But something just... doesn't feel right!
Sui: I'm not the same Sui... that Kuzure loved as his daughter...
Sui: It hurts... not knowing what to do...
Yuel: Hey, Sui! Still lookin' fer yer dad's flame?
Sui: Yuel... Societte...
Sui: Waha! Hey, long time no see! Came back to say hello?
Yuel: Mm-hm. Yer practically a little sister to us now.
Societte: We just knew we had to see you again, but... what I'd really like is for us to travel together.
Sui: Waha, you're too good to me.
Sui: Thing is...
Yuel: It's all right if ya need more time to get yer feelings in order. I know it ain't easy.
Societte: Sorry if it felt like I was rushing you... Take all the time you need.
Sui: Okay...
Yuel: Anyhoo, gotta say that's a pretty handy body you've got there, bein' able to switch between child and adult at will.
Societte: Um... Is it okay to continue using the freak of nature's power though?
The freak of nature is Sui's true form. It is neither primal beast nor monster.
It was once vanquished after falling to the depths of the skies, but not before leaving behind a fragment of its power. It is from that fragment that the current Sui was born.
Sui: You might be right... Sorry, I'm not entirely sure myself.
Sui: Child Sui and adult Sui are the only two forms I can take now. I don't even know if this can be called the freak of nature's power anymore...
Societte: I guess you're more comfortable in the child form since that's how you look whenever you're with us?
Sui: Er, well... I wouldn't say I'm more comfortable one way or the other... Let's just say it's complicated.
Yuel: Fine by me. Nothin' beats a huggable, lovable Sui.
Yuel: But can ya make an exception just for today and come with us as an adult?
Sui: Why though?
Societte: We'll be attending a mysterious festival that's open only to adults and were hoping you could join us.
Sui: ...?
You: Sneaky, sneaky...
(Captain) and company, having agreed to the idea of tailing Sui, come along on the excursion.
Adult Sui is seen walking alongside Yuel and Societte at the festival grounds of a bustling town.
Both: Sneaky, sneaky, sneaky...
Vyrn: Ya know, sayin' "sneaky" out loud isn't gonna make us any sneakier...
Lyria: You's so cute when she says it, so I just followed her example... Ehehe...
Vyrn: Hehe, I know what ya mean. Is there a point to bein' stealthy in the first place though? Can't you royal family successors sense each other?
Kou: You're right. They might've even noticed us already. Must be why they occasionally glance this way.
You: Still, I can't just sit around doing nothing.
You: I mean, can you believe Sis Yuel didn't even invite us? I'm sure she has her reasons, but...
You: It hurts sooo much to think that I'm not wanted! Sneaking around like this is my only choice!
Vyrn: Yeah, it's weird how they didn't invite you two, huh...
Lyria: It doesn't make sense to me either... I would think they'd want you to join in on the fun together...
You: And why's Sui in her adult form? It's all so weird... I have to know why!
Societte: Ahaha... We told 'em to be good and wait for us, yet here they are.
Yuel: Guess we were askin' fer the impossible. There's no way they'd leave Sui be.
Sui: Hehe... Maybe we can invite them too? Surely that'd make things a lot easier...
Yuel: Nuh-uh. Like I said, the festival's fer grown-ups only. Not to mention—
Kou: Wha? You need proof of our age? What do you mean children aren't allowed!
You: L-let us through! Please, please, pretty please!
Sui: Hm, you weren't kidding about this being for grown-ups only...
Sui: I've never heard of something like this... Not even in Kuzure's stories...
Yuel: I'd go as far as sayin' this festival's somethin' you need.
Sui: Oh?
Tilting her head in puzzlement, Sui follows behind the smiling Yuel and Societte.
It is hours later and the sun has set. The grown-ups have gathered at the plaza, quietly sipping on the drinks that have been handed out.
Sui: This smell... Is it ale? I've never had alcohol before...
Yuel: Don't worry, there's hardly any alcohol in it. Consider the drinks a mood setter for the ceremony. Should be fine if ya don't want any though.
Sui: Hm... I guess this is a festival where we can try out brews and sausages from various lands?
Sui: Now I'm curious... What's with the kindling in the center of the plaza?
Societte: Hehe, just wait and see. You'll find out soon enough.
Following Societte's words, the plaza slowly quiets down.
Amid the increasingly solemn atmosphere, a man approaches the center of the plaza with an object in hand.
Sui: Wha... How... How does he—
The lute storyteller widens her eyes in surprise. There is no mistaking it. That man is in possession of items Sui would recognize anywhere.
Sui: Kuzure's flame and lute...
She can hardy believe the sight before her. In the man's hands are a lute and a torch with a jade flame.
After making a grand display of the jade flame, he sets fire to the kindling.
Sui: How...
Sui: How is it that you have Kuzure's flame and lute?
Sui is now standing beside the man, desperate for an answer.
Elder: Quite the knowledgeable young lady, aren't you. Not many outsiders know the name of the hero who saved our town—
Elder: H-hold your horses! That lovely green hair and shiny tail can only mean one thing...
Elder: Listen well, everyone! The daughter of the great hero has come to us! We bask in her presence!
Sui: Huh? Wait a second... I'm not really—
Elder: We have waited too long to be blessed by your arrival! It is thanks to your father that our town remains standing to this day!
Sui: Um... What exactly did Kuzure do here?
Elder: He purged a cannibalistic demon that targets children, thereby saving all of our offspring.
Sui: I had no idea...
Elder: Well, no matter. I'd be more than happy to regale you with the tale of the blind lute storyteller—a tale we share amongst ourselves.
Elder: About ten years ago, when the town was just a simple village, there was a sinister beast that feasted on children. We lived in constant fear...
Elder: Kuzure showed up one day and listened to our plight.
Elder: Though he wore a veil covering his face, the raging anger he felt was evident.
Elder: He purged the monster with flame almost instantaneously. Oddly enough, the flame remained with us even long after Kuzure left.
Sui: And that flame is what I'm looking at right now...
Elder: Yes, it's kept all manner of monster and beast at bay, allowing the village to expand into a prosperous town.
Townsperson 1: Many of us grown-ups are alive today only because of what Kuzure did. He truly is our hero...
Sui: Kuzure...
Elder: And a few years back, he made a surprise appearance at the village once more.
Sui: (It must have been when I was still the freak of nature...)
Elder: He entrusted his lute to us, asking that it be passed down to his daughter should she ever show up. And here you are.
Elder: Please, take it.
Sui: Huh? But at that time, Sui was already... What did he mean by "daughter"?
Yuel: The daughter would be you. That's gotta be it.
Sui: ...
The lute storyteller extends a hand to the instrument, shaking all the while in consternation.
Finally taking it into her own hands, she gazes reverently at the lavishly decorated lute.
Kuzure's familiar handwriting is scratched onto the instrument's surface.
Sui: Sniff...
Sui: It's no fair...
Sui crumples to the ground as tears come pouring out of her eyes, arms tightly wrapped around the lute.
Kuzure: My precious daughters

Whom I will forever love

Keep pushing onward
Kuzure: Forge a most grand tale

Of life once lost now given

To live as you choose
Sui: Waaaaah!
Sui: Dad... Daddy! Sob...
Sui: Do you really accept me... as your daughter, Daddy?
Societte: Well, you saw the words yourself on the instrument.
Sui: Yeah... Sniff...
Societte: This was bugging you for the longest time, right? We went around looking into ways we could help.
Yuel: That's when we came across a rumor about Kuzure stopping by this town. It's a good thing we brought you here.
Sui: Thanks... Yuel, Societte... Sniff...
Elder: What in the world... You've turned into a child...
Yuel: Whoopsie, don't get the wrong idea! How do I put this...
Elder: Perfect!
Societte: Huh?
Elder: This is no a longer an adults-only festival! From now on, children will be able to join in on the merrymaking too!
Elder: Have the children come out! This is going to be a night to remember! Just know your limits, everyone!
Townsperson 2: Of course! Boy are we lucky to meet the hero's daughter! And what a wondrous power she has! I can almost feel her luck rubbing off on me!
Townsperson 1: The hero's daughter... She's adorable as both an adult and a child... Yes, no doubt about it.
Yuel: No one's freaked out by Sui's shapeshiftin'? Haha, talk about a weird town.
Children soon come surging into the plaza.
Among them are (Captain), Lyria, Vyrn, You, and Kou.
You: Sui!
Sui: You...
You: Are those tears? You must be in pain! Where does it hurt?
Sui: Nuh-uh, I'm fine... It doesn't hurt anymore...
Sui: You... It's me, Sui... The Sui that you all consider a friend.
You: Mm-hm.
Sui: But I'm also not Sui. And that won't ever change.
You: Yeah...
Sui: But I learned something very important today... Kuzure is okay with me being his daughter.
You: That's great, Sui. Are you all good now?
Sui: No, I don't think I'll ever be... But it's okay!
Sui: Because I'm ready to move forward now— dragging all of my worries along with me.
Sui: Still, I'll move forward nonetheless... forging my tale wherever it takes me.
Sui: As Kuzure's daughter!
Kou: And we'll be there to help you every step of the way.
You: Because you're our friend!
Sui: Thanks...
Sui: On that note, is it all right if I ask for a favor?
You: C'mon, out with it. No holding back.
Sui: Teehee.
Sui: Um, (Captain)...
Sui: Would it be all right if I joined your crew? I'd like to collect all sorts of stories.
Sui: As my way of pushing onward in life.
Vyrn: Hehe, glad you asked. I was wonderin' when you'd finally join us.
Lyria: Me too, Sui! We're going to have so much fun together!
Sui: Ehehe, thanks for waiting.
Sui: Okay then, enough sentimentality for the day! Because...
Sui: It's storytelling time!
The jade lute storyteller, proud daughter of Kuzure, is full of smiles as she gets up, her composure restored.
Plucking away at her father's memento...
She regales all with tales of heroes past and dreams for the future.

Multiplying Suis

At the festival, the crew meets up with Vania, Malinda, Varga, and Amazuma. Sui inadvertently spawns multiple clones of herself that join in on the fun.

The festival has opened up to children in addition to grown-ups, leading to a fun-filled night for all.
As the lively voices of the younger generation and festival drums fill the plaza, You lets out a piercing scream.
You: Suuiiiii! Where did you go!
Sui, despite having formally joined (Captain)'s crew, is nowhere to be seen.
She had somehow disappeared without a moment's notice.
Vyrn: Not gonna be easy lookin' for her at such a crowded venue.
Yuel: What the hay... Just when I told her not to run off too. She's not an easy little sis to look after.
Vania: Sheesh! What a handful, huh!
Malinda: Gyoo!
Kou: Oh, Vania! I didn't realize you—
Varga: We're here too! Long time no see, Kou!
Amazuma: The last time Yuel and Societte came to visit us in Medvecia, she told us about the festival here.
Vania: The moment we heard about the festival, we just knew we had to attend!
The crew are surprised to find these familiar faces from Medvecia beside them.
Vania and Malinda are long-time friends, while Varga and Amazuma are more recent acquaintances.
Vania: I was hoping to catch up with a happy Sui too.
Amazuma: It doesn't seem like she's anywhere around though.
Lyria: Hm, any chance you can try sensing her?
You: Genius idea, Lyria! Help me sniff her out, Bro Kou—
You: Wha?
Kou: Huh?
You and Kou stand dumbfounded at the unbelievable sight before them.
(Captain), too, is at a loss for words.
You: I sense Sui... everywhere...
Societte: No kidding! She's all over the place!
Two cheery Suis playfully skip past the crew.
  1. I think I'm seeing double.

Choose: I think I'm seeing double.
Vania: Whoa, whoa, whoa! What's happening here!
Sui: More Suis means more fun!
Yuel: Gah! Who said you could multiply like that!
Sui: Huh? I need permission? Sorry, I didn't know. Vania, is it okay if I multiply?
Vania: Urk! P-permission granted!
Sui: Waha! You're so nice!
Vyrn: Why's Vania the one givin' the okay?
Yuel: Not like Sui needs permission to begin with... We were just caught off guard, is all...
Societte: How's she doing that? There's even an adult Sui over there...
Sui: Okay, 'kay, 'kay, 'kay

Listen up and listen good

You're gonna love this
Sui: The great tale concludes

At the millennium mark

Then begins anew
Townsperson 2: Whoo! The hero's daughter plucks that lute like nobody's business!
Townsperson 1: So cool...
Yuel: She's over there too, with the children!
Sui: Waha! Hey, kids! I heard they've got candy down there that pops and bursts in your mouth!
Sui: Let's go try some out together! My treat!
Local Child: Hooray! I love puffy candy! And I love nice people who treat me to candy even more! Can I get a choco banana too?
Sui: Normally, I'd say let's not get too greedy! But I think we can make an exception just for today! My treat, as promised!
Sui: Luckily, a lot of the other grown-ups offered grown-up me plenty of rupies!
Kou: Money's making the town go round...
Lyria: How did this happen?
Sui: Beats me.
You: You sayin' you dunno either?
Sui: Ehehe... I think this might be part of my power as the freak of nature.
Sui: I'm not really sure how it works though. Once I realized it's okay for me to be Kuzure's daughter...
Sui: There was suddenly a whole bunch of me!
Amazuma: That's so weird and incredible at the same time!
Varga: Haha, no argument there! It's fun seeing so many Suis in one place!
Elder: My goodness... This can only be a miracle brought forth by the hero's daughter...
Townsperson 1: Thank the skies...
Local Child: Thank sky.
Vyrn: Looks like the townsfolk see the multiplying Suis as a blessing more than anything else...
Yuel: Would ya look at that! They're paradin' Sui around like a float! No fair! I want in on the fun too!
Sui: Oh, it's super fun! Come on, get over here!
Sui: Clap in unison

Let us make tonight a tale

To cherish dearly
The Suis continue multiplying. Some of them extend a hand to the crew.
(Captain) and company trade glances before taking their hands, happy to see Sui's good cheer restored.

Multiplying Suis: Scene 2

Child Sui and clones join the town's children for a sweets buffet at a local eatery. When the pudding supply nearly runs out, Sui runs a rock-paper-scissors tournament to give the chefs time to make more pudding.

While child Sui is enjoying the festival with the other children...
One particularly curious stall catches their eye.
You: What's with all the strings at that stall?
Lyria: Hm, I've never seen anything like it...
Vania: I happen to know all about that. Care to be enlightened?
Sui: Oho, something tells me you've become a lot more knowledgeable about festivals!
Vania: Hahah, you can say that again! I did my homework!
Malinda: Gyoo! Gyoo!
Amazuma: Medvecia's annual festival has become something really special thanks to the work Vania put in.
Varga: We're gonna have lots of stalls at the next one too! I can't wait!
Vania: Mm-hm, we sure are! It's why I'm putting so much work into learning about festivals!
Malinda: Gyoo!
Sui: Ooh, I like seeing that kind of enthusiasm from a future ruler! So? Enlighten us.
Vania: Hehehe! Prepare to be blown away! Those strings are actually...
Vania: Super long fortune slips!
Malinda: Gyoo?
Vania: That's gotta be it! Probably! I mean, just look at how long they are!
You: Wow, that's a really straightforward name... "Super long fortune slips," huh?
Lyria: Ahaha, Vania did say "probably"...
Kou: Haha, it's basically a lottery where you have to pull the right string. Malinda must've realized that, hence her reaction.
Sui: Let's not sweat the details and just enjoy the moment!
Vania later divulges more nuggets of wisdom that may or may not actually be correct.
After a full tour of the stalls, You throws Sui a question.
You: Sui, as much as fun as it is to have so many of you, I can't help but wonder... Why?
Sui: Waha... There's no better way to enjoy the festival to its fullest extent!
Sui: You see, I'm expecting all sorts of little stories to happen on this special night.
Sui: And I don't want to miss the chance to collect every single one of them. As a way to help me move forward too.
Kou: Sui...
Sui: Let's call that my official reason.
Kou: What other reason do you have then?
Sui: I was really curious about that...
Flashing a toothy grin, Sui bashfully points to a nearby eatery.
All focus on the sign written in childish-looking letters outside the charmingly decorated establishment.
Varga: Hm... "Free lunch buffet for children! Enjoy milk and sweets to your heart's content!"
Lyria: Ooh, I love buffets! Sounds like they have dessert too!
Lyria: I mean... Wait. Sui, you turned into so many of yourself just to see what it's like in there?
Sui: Well, I wanted to try out everything they have. And the more stomachs I have, the easier that'll be to do...
Malinda: Gyoooo!
Varga: Hehe, Sui must have a big appetite like Malinda!
Sui: I get full really fast. But with an army of Suis, I'm confident I can try out everything they have!
Sui: I just really want to see what they're serving! If I'm lucky, they might even have something called custard pudding that Daddy said I'd love!
Amazuma: You'd use your power just for that?
Sui: Ehe... Ehehe...
You: I'm just about starving, so this works out great! Let's go, Sui!
Sui: Waha! Yeah, let's! I can't wait to get my fill!
Some in the crew join the children for a buffet at the eatery.
Shortly after, a grave problem manifests.
Lyria: Oh no! It looks like they're out of custard pudding!
Vania: Aw, what a shame! I really wanted more of that too!
Sui: Wait, there's one more! But only one!
Amazuma: Y-you're right...
Children: Gulp...
All eyes in the establishment turn to the single remaining cup of custard pudding.
With everyone keeping each other in check, who will be the one to lay hands on this elusive treat?
Sui: Time for rock, paper, scissors!
Children: Fair enough!
Varga: The winner gets the last one, then?
Sui: Mm-hm! I wish we didn't have to compete over this, but...
You: There's no helping it!
Kou: I don't want to fight over the custard pudding, so count me out.
Vania: Nuh-uh! You're doing this too!
Kou: Eh...
Sui: Just consider it part of the fun and games! The more, the merrier!
Sui: Get ready, everyone!
Here we go!
The bouts of rock, paper, scissors grow increasingly heated as the children try to guess each other's moves.
It isn't long before there are only three contestants remaining.
Scissor Sui: Waha... Hey, we're pretty good at this!
Paper Sui: Maybe I should go for something other than paper this time...
Rock Sui: Which one of us is going to be the champion...
You: Whoa, whoa, whoa! Hold on a sec! How is this not against the rules?
Malinda: Gyoo, gyoo, gyoo!
Amazuma: So that's why Sui kept winning...
Lyria: I didn't think there were so many Suis participating in the tournament...
Kou: Yeah, the odds were definitely stacked so that one of her would win in the end.
Vania: No fair! Boo!
Sui: I-I understand your anger, but please... You have nothing to worry about!
Lyria: Sniff... Hm, that smell... Could it be? More pudding?
Sui walks out of the kitchen with one of the cooks, each holding a large plate of pudding.
Sui: Phew, I had to buy them some time to make more pudding. That's what the rock, paper, scissors tournament was for!
Varga: What a surprise... That's one creative way of using your ability!
You: Ooh, two mountains of pudding—complete with all the milk and cream we could want on the side!
Sui: There's enough for more than two servings for everyone! Have at it!
It turns out Sui wasn't "cheating" for cheating's sake, but was looking at the big picture all along.
Thanks to her efforts, all present are able to enjoy custard pudding to their hearts' content.

Multiplying Suis: Scene 3

Meanwhile, adult Sui joins Yuel and others at a local bar. She gets tipsy off the scent of a cocktail mix and falls asleep. They hope to visit again in a few years when Sui is mature enough to have a proper drink.

While child Sui is enjoying a buffet with the other children...
Adult Sui, Yuel, Societte, (Captain), and Vyrn visit a local bar.
Yuel: Phew, didn't think they'd have a place like this in town too.
Sui: I've been wanting to step inside after spotting it by chance earlier. And what a wonderful establishment it is.
Yuel: Ahaha, spoken like a bona fide grown-up...
Yuel: Come to think of it though... You kinda make us look underage.
Vyrn: It's hard to tell how old she looks without seein' her face, but this Sui's definitely too tall to be a kid.
Societte: What a handy power that is... You make for a charming lady, Sui.
Sui: Y-you're making me blush. Haha.
Yuel: From the inflection in yer voice to yer personality, you are one sexy fox in this form.
Vyrn: Anyhoo, why the interest in the bar?
Sui: Dad once spoke to me of a bar. As soon as I saw the sign, I knew I had to check it out.
Sui: Haha, do you think my current form is appropriate for the occasion?
Vyrn: Appropriate? You look right at home if you ask me.
Yuel: This definitely ain't yer first time at a bar though. Don't tell me you forgot about huggin' Buck Bronco.
Sui: Oh, I remember him! I'm still grateful to him for teaching me common courtesies!
Yuel: Ahah, only kiddin'. The man used to be a common ruffian, but he sure has turned over a new leaf.
Societte: That reminds me... Buck Bronco and I had a drinking contest the first time we met.
Sui: A drinking contest?
Societte: Uh-huh... We played a little game to see which of us could hold more liquor.
Sui: You certainly don't look the type to take on such a daring challenge.
Societte: Thing is, I'd never drank alcohol, so I had to cheat to win...
Yuel: And ya came clean after wipin' the floor with him. How cute.
Sui: Well, well. How adorably like you, Societte.
Vyrn: Guy was so moved by your honesty that you won his respect for life.
Societte: Yeah, he's been real good to us ever since. Buck Bronco's a nice fella if you ask me.
Vyrn: He's an information broker who was also involved in some shady stuff, right? He sure cleaned up well, huh...
Sui: That's for sure... Haha.
Sui: The idea of a drinking contest does seem interesting though...
Sui: Anyone want to try it with me?
  1. Let's try it with milk.
  2. None of us drink though.

Choose: Let's try it with milk.
Sui: Er, I get the impression I might feel nature's call after that.
Yuel: Ahaha, doubt you'd fare any better with alcohol.
Sui: Y-you think so? I suppose that makes sense...
Sui: Hrm... There must be someone who'll drink with me...

Choose: None of us drink though.
Sui: Huh? You too, Yuel?
Yuel: Er, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to try. Just don't be too surprised if I turn out to be a champ.
Societte: No, Yuel. I say don't risk it.
Sui: Hrm... There must be someone who'll drink with me...
Continue 1
Vyrn: I dunno... This ain't like your usual tavern where you can just join anyone for a drink.
Yuel: No need to push yerself. Alcohol's meant to be savored anyway.
Vyrn: Yeah, no need for a non-drinker to show off.
Yuel: Oh, shut it! Your call, Sui!
Yuel: My sweet little sis has such a nice body when all grown-up! It's only natural she'd wanna gloat a bit!
Sui: N-nice body...
Barkeep: Miss.
Sui: Ah, sorry! Were we too loud?
Barkeep: No, no, given the festival outside, you can be as loud as you want.
Barkeep: Although I don't recommend a drinking contest, if you're interested in having a sip...
Barkeep: I can make you a fruit cocktail mixed with milk that's low in alcohol content. How about it?
Sui: I didn't know that was possible. I love milk, so that sounds good.
With practiced hands, the smiling owner uses a bar spoon to mix alcohol with milk.
Shortly after, he passes the sakura-colored cocktail to the ever-curious Sui.
Barkeep: Here you go. Enjoy.
Sui: So this is the alcohol that Dad used to talk about... Haha, it looks wonderful.
Sui: Sniff... Hehe... Love the smell of the fruit juice.
Sui: There's the faint scent of wood too... Must be from being stored in a barrel. What a rich aroma...
Sui: Hahaha... Haha.
Sui: ...
Vyrn: Aren't ya gonna try it out? I know it's real pretty, but you're supposed to drink it...
Sui: ...
Yuel: Sui?
Anybody home?
Yuel and Societte exchange glances, then lift the unmoving Sui's face veil.
Chuckling at what lies underneath, they let go of the veil.
Societte: She's fast asleep.
Vyrn: Wha? Even though she hasn't had a sip yet? I didn't know you could get tipsy from the scent alone!
Sui: Mng... Zzz...
Vyrn: She's a kid again.
Yuel: Guess she's still a child at heart no matter how grown-up she looks.
Societte: Sorry, barkeep. But I think it'll be a few more years before she finally takes that sip. Sorry to have wasted a perfectly good cocktail.
Barkeep: Haha, no worries. It was I who offered the cocktail to someone who doesn't drink to begin with.
Barkeep: More importantly, it seems she was rather pleased with the scent alone. And that more than makes up for it.
Barkeep: Anyhow, maybe come back in a few years. I'll treat you all to something special then.
Yuel: Haha, I sure do hope we'll be ready to drink when that time comes. Right, Sui?
Sui: Mng... Zzz...
Societte: She's sound asleep, almost like a cat.
The crew pays the bill, then leaves the establishment with Yuel piggybacking Sui.
They hope to return to the bar once they've matured a few years to properly enjoy the drinks.

Multiplying Suis: Scene 4

When Sui awakens, the festival is already over. She has a splitting headache from gathering the experiences of so many clones at once. Though dismayed by this occurrence, You encourages her to take it slow and steady.

Sui: Yawn...
Huh?
Sui: Wha? Am I...
Societte: Oh, you're up. Good morning, Sui!
Sui: Good mor—
Ah!
Sui: H-how long was I asleep? The festival...
You: It's over. I heard you drifted off at the bar.
Sui: Yeah, that does ring a bell.
Kou: It was a real surprise when all the Suis disappeared.
Yuel: Interesting. Is that how it's supposed to work? They disappear when ya nod off?
Sui: Um, I guess? Probably...
Lyria: Haha, it's funny how that works... What's important is that you're safe.
Sui: Ngh, sorry for making you worry... It looks like I might have to test out this power of mine some more.
Sui: Though of course, I'm grateful for the power since it allowed me to experience so much of the festival!
Sui: Huh?
Sui: Rgh! Ouch! My head...
You: Sui! Are you okay?
Sui: My head hurts... I'm nauseous too...
Vyrn: Weird... A hangover from the scent of alcohol alone?
You: Here, here! Have some of this water!
Sui: Th-thanks, You... That's not the problem though...
Kou: Any idea what exactly it is then?
Sui: Recent experiences suddenly flashed through my mind...
Societte: You mean the things you experienced as the different Suis rushed through your head all at once?
Sui: I think so... Ngh...
Yuel: Yikes! Not like any of us would know how that feels, but that's gotta be rough.
Sui: Ugh... I experienced so much at the festival, but now I can only remember fragments...
Vyrn: Huh... Really does sound like a hangover.
You: Maybe it's best if you don't use that power too much.
Sui: Ugh... But having multiple copies of myself makes it so much easier to collect stories...
Sui: I thought this would be the way for me to move forward, like Dad wanted...
You: It's okay to take it slow.
Sui: You...
You: I mean, let's not forget you've inherited the Seventh Dance from Kuzure. Really, there's no need to rush things.
You: What's more, you've got us right next to you!
Sui: Huh?
You: Trust me when I say you'll have sooo many more experiences and opportunities to collect stories!
You: And we'll get to do it all together! Because we're friends! Friends forever!
You: No harm in moving forward one step at a time!
Sui: You...
Sui: Good point... Haha, it's nice to know I'm already friends with everyone.
Vyrn: Yep, no mistake about that.
Yuel: We've been friends for a while now.
Sui: Waha. Ehehe...
Sui: I hope that remains true for a long time to come.
The lute storyteller will never forget what she lost. Nor will she ever forget what she has now.
Reaffirming the bonds formed with dear friends, the storyteller—Kuzure's daughter—smiles from the bottom of her heart.
