Hello, Sky World!
Having completed her trial in Dharma, Amaterasu steps into the Sky Realm and is immediately a sensation among the locals. Curious as to what passes for common sense in this new environment, she asks Tsukuyomi to teach her what she's learned from the crew so far.
Following the incident at the Nexus Labyrinth Dharma...
(Captain) and company have since welcomed Tsukuyomi—a primal beast they met in Dharma—aboard the Grandcypher and taught her about the Sky Realm.
Vyrn: The big day's finally here! You ready, Tsukuyomi?
Tsukuyomi: This reunion with Amaterasu was expected. I see little cause for commotion.
Lyria: You should be glad, Tsukuyomi! From now on, we can all be together!
Lyria: The weather may be cloudy, but there's a sense of happiness in the air today.
Amaterasu is Tsukuyomi's counterpart. The two spent many long years together inside the Nexus Labyrinth Dharma.
Tsukuyomi ventured into the Sky Realm first, and Amaterasu will soon follow suit upon completion of her trial in Dharma.
Vyrn: You know, it was a real surprise seein' ya float over town like it was perfectly normal back when you first joined us.
Tsukuyomi: There was no rule in Dharma that prohibited flying indiscriminately.
Tsukuyomi: It seems I still struggle to judge what passes for common sense in the Sky Realm.
Vyrn: Bhaisa was worried about that too. Guess that's why she asked us to vouch for ya.
Vyrn: Amaterasu might have a hard time adjusting at first too.
Lyria: We'll have to teach her all about the Sky Realm so that she doesn't feel lost!
Vyrn: Huh? What's goin' on? There's a big crowd gathering.
Vyrn: Weird how it's only sunny over there. A crowd's gatherin' around that spot too..
Light pierces through the clouds and illuminates a corner of town.
Townswoman: How fortunate... There must be blessings in this light.
Townsman: Such elegance in this glow! Bask in it, and good fortune is bound to come your way! You'd be a fool not to!
???: People, do you desire light?
Amaterasu: Then let me shine brighter!
Townspeople: Woo-hoo!
Vyrn: Isn't that Amaterasu? What's she up to?
Lyria: Wow... That's a lot of people gathered around her... She sure is standing out.
Tsukuyomi: Most impressive, Amaterasu. You are already drawing so much attention despite having just left Dharma.
Vyrn: Why are you the one actin' proud...
Townswoman: There's something dignified about her. Maybe she ought to be properly enshrined?
Townsman: Indeed! This aura of blessings is sure to captivate many people!
Townsman: Let us establish a new faith in her name! Er, would you come with us?
Amaterasu: If I may be of help, then gladly!
Vyrn: Why would ya do that!
Lyria: Oh no! Amaterasu is getting taken away!
Vyrn: Weren't you told to meet up with us first?
Amaterasu: So in the Sky Realm, going along with strangers is a big no-no? Yes, I think I've heard that one before!
Lyria: I'm just glad we reunited safely. I was worried we might get separated.
Vyrn: You made our hearts skip a beat back there. Be more careful next time, all right?
Amaterasu: Sure! Just one question!
Amaterasu: At what point in an interaction does someone stop being considered a stranger?
Vyrn: Huh? Er, after introductions, I guess?
Lyria: That still feels a bit risky. Wouldn't it be safer after getting to know them better?
Amaterasu: What exactly counts as getting to know someone better?
Lyria: Um... That's... hard to say... Maybe asking what they like?
Faced with Amaterasu's desire for clarity on matters usually left vague, the group struggles to answer.
???: Heh heh heh... Looks like you've hit a snag!
???: A situation that calls for intellect and social finesse... There's no better stage for us.
Amaterasu: Huang! Bai! It's good to see you again!
Huang: Ama! Long time no see!
Bai: We, the Divine Tiger, are happy to lend a helping hand.
Lyria: Oh, that's right. You two got along well with Tsukuyomi and Amaterasu.
Bai: Unlike Huang, I overflow with intellect, making me the obvious choice.
Huang: Setting aside Bai, who only reads naughty books and lacks real-world sense, I, with my wealth of experience, am clearly the better fit!
Bai: How bold of you to speak of experience when you lack even basic knowledge. Truly laughable.
Huang: Like there's any knowledge in your books!
Laolao: Enough already! This isn't going anywhere, so let's stop right here, gawr!
Lyria: Ahaha... Having so many people willing to help is very reassuring!
Taking after Tsukuyomi, Amaterasu also decides to seek out a purpose in the Sky Realm.
Vyrn: Answerin' questions all day isn't gonna get us anywhere. Might be better to learn hands-on like Tsukuyomi did.
Amaterasu: What! Tsukuyomi has already begun studying since coming outside?
Tsukuyomi: Yes. Together with (Captain) and the others, I have completed several practical exercises regarding conduct in the Sky Realm.
Amaterasu: That's amazing!
Hearing Tsukuyomi's account, Amaterasu's eyes sparkle with joy.
Amaterasu: I'd love to see what you've learned so far, Tsukuyomi!
Lyria: Perfect timing! Let's treat this as a review and put on a show!
Tsukuyomi: Ding-a-ling. So this is the grocery store. What should I buy?
Amaterasu: Tsukuyomi? What's wrong? We're not at a grocery store.
Tsukuyomi: Amaterasu. I'm busy shopping right now, so please wait until I'm done.
Amaterasu: O-okay!
Bai: (Tsuku really commits to her role...)
Lyria: Welcome! What will it be today?
Tsukuyomi: Today marks my reunion with Amaterasu. I am considering fruit to celebrate. Do you have anything in season?
Lyria: Then I recommend these peaches! Will you be paying with rupies?
Tsukuyomi: Here. I believe there will be no change, correct?
Lyria: Yes! This is the exact amount! Thank you for your patronage!
Amaterasu watches Lyria and Tsukuyomi's exchange with great curiosity.
Amaterasu: Ah! This must be what it means to play shop!
Huang: I'm impressed, Ama! How do you know this when you were stuck in Dharma all that time?
Amaterasu: I played with the children of Sankara! Though what I know is limited to that period of time...
Amaterasu: Tsukuyomi! You've improved so much! You must've worked hard to get to this point!
Lyria: And that's not all! After this training, Tsukuyomi even shopped in town for real!
Amaterasu: Wow! Is that right, Tsukuyomi?
Tsukuyomi: With everyone's assistance, I completed my shopping exercise in the Sky Realm and found my purpose in the process.
Tsukuyomi: To help the people of the Sky Realm and gather their gratitude—this is my current purpose.
Amaterasu: Wow... That's fantastic!
Amaterasu listens intently to Tsukuyomi's report for some time, savoring each word.
Amaterasu: It's wonderful you were able to grow so rapidly in such a short time, Tsukuyomi!
Amaterasu: You're almost a completely different person from the Tsukuyomi who used to vanish without warning!
Tsukuyomi: It is hardly worth mentioning.
Amaterasu: There must be an immeasurable difference in information between Dharma and the outside world—enough to foster such growth!
Amaterasu: Well done, Tsukuyomi.
The changes the Sky Realm had bestowed upon her friend resonate strongly with Amaterasu.
Beholding the world beyond Dharma for the first time, Amaterasu wonders how it might change her in turn.
All-Encompassing Light
Impressed by Tsukuyomi's experiences, Amaterasu listens to a lecture about the Sky Realm from Huang and Bai next. When the two begin to argue, Amaterasu swiftly puts them to sleep. In interacting with the crew, Amaterasu realizes her true purpose lies in connecting with others.
Amaterasu has joined the crew slightly after Tsukuyomi.
Now with the Cidala Sisters present, Tsukuyomi demonstrates what she has learned about the skies so far.
Amaterasu: Tsukuyomi, you've done wonderfully! Let me give you some more head pats.
Vyrn: You're smilin' like this is your own big achievement, Amaterasu!
Amaterasu: Well, I'd always hoped Tsukuyomi would get to connect with people in the outside world!
Amaterasu: So it's only natural for me to feel happy... And somehow, I feel even happier than I do for myself...
Amaterasu tilts her head slightly.
The emotion stirring within her seems unlike anything she has experienced before.
Huang: Thinking alone won't bring answers! For now, you should try attending our Sky Realm lecture!
Amaterasu: Oh? You two are going to teach me too?
Bai: Of course, Ama. I guarantee you'll gain new knowledge unlike anything before.
Laolao: Are you sure? I have a bad feeling about this, gawr...
And so begins a lecture from the Cidala Sisters about proper conduct in the Sky Realm.
Huang: What? I dare you to say that again!
Bai: Oh, I can repeat it all day. You're unqualified to teach, Huang.
Laolao: I knew it would turn out like this, gawr...
No sooner has the lecture begun than the two clash over their differing approaches, creating a tense atmosphere.
Vyrn: What are we supposed to do? If they start fightin', the ship's gonna get wrecked...
Amaterasu: Hmm...
Huang: Huh? Ama, what's wrong? I was going to continue the lecture after settling things with Bai fir—
Amaterasu approaches Huang, smoothly wrapping both arms around her back.
Huang: Eep!
Amaterasu: There, there... It's all right. I'm here with you.
With practiced ease, Amaterasu continues holding Huang, gently rubbing her back.
Huang: Yow... Th-this touch... is...
Huang: Mm... Zzz...
Bai: Huang? Why did you fall asleep?
Amaterasu: Your turn.
Amaterasu: When children become fussy, it is customary to soothe everyone involved to sleep.
Maintaining a warm, enveloping smile, Amaterasu slowly closes the distance between herself and Bai.
Bai: Fwah... W-wait, I'm not mentally prepared yet...
Bai: Fuhmyaaa!
Cidala Sisters: Zzz...
Amaterasu: Sleep tight!
Vyrn: Wh-what just happened? They both nodded off in an instant.
Lyria: Wow... Amaterasu's touch is mesmerizing... I kind of want to see that again.
Amaterasu: And I'd be happy to show it again. Just as soon as (Captain) comes to rest on my lap!
- Your wish is my command.
- I have a bad feeling about this.
Choose: Your wish is my command.Vyrn: Wait, don't do it! If you fall asleep too, we won't be able to control the situation!
Lyria: I-I'm curious too, but let's save it for another time!
Choose: I have a bad feeling about this.Tsukuyomi: There is no danger. With Amaterasu's touch, one can fall asleep in an instant.
Vyrn: That's the creepy thing about it...
Continue 1Amaterasu: Back in Dharma, I often looked after Sankara's children, so I've gotten used to doing this!
Laolao: In that case, can you take care of these twins from now on too, gawr? Please say yes!
Vyrn: Don't think I've ever seen you more desperate, Laolao...
As the group marvels at Amaterasu's expertise in the matter...
Amaterasu: Hm?
Tsukuyomi: ...
Tsukuyomi watches their interactions with a quiet sense of satisfaction.
Amaterasu: Tsukuyomi, what's with the big smile on your face?
Lyria: I think she's just happy to see you get praise.
Tsukuyomi: I suppose Amaterasu getting compliments filled me with joy.
Amaterasu: Really? I felt the same way when you were showing me what you learned—
Amaterasu suddenly recalls the question that surfaced within her earlier.
Amaterasu: So it's only natural for me to feel happy... And somehow, I feel even happier than I do for myself...
Amaterasu: Could this be the reason... for the joy I felt?
Amaterasu: Everyone, I think I may have found something I want to do.
Vyrn: Oh yeah? Tell us about it.
Amaterasu: Listening to the wishes of others may be what I want to do.
Lyria: The wishes of others?
Amaterasu: When Tsukuyomi found what she wanted to do, I reacted strongly.
Amaterasu: It felt important to me. If possible, I want to hear even more wishes.
Vyrn: The ship's kinda empty right now, so why don't we head into town and ask around? People might think you're a bit strange though.
Amaterasu: Will you help me? This is a very personal wish of mine that you have no obligation to take part in...
Lyria: Teehee. I think it's the same for you too, Amaterasu.
Lyria: We're happy that you shared with us what you want to do.
Amaterasu: ...!
Amaterasu: Thank you very much, everyone! Then I will gladly accept your help!
Sensing Lyria and Vyrn's kindness, Amaterasu responds with a smile as bright as the sun.
All-Encompassing Light: Scene 2
Amaterasu decides she wants to listen to people's wishes. When townsfolk suffering from prolonged rain beg for help, she uses her powers once more. The grateful townspeople begin to venerate her, and before long, a shrine is built in her honor.
To fulfill Amaterasu's wish, (Captain) and company head into town.
Before they realize it, the crew has wandered all the way out to the rural fields on the edge of town.
Vyrn: We're not runnin' into many people. Seems like hardly anyone's out and about.
Lyria: Hmm... Could it be because of the weather? It's been rainy for quite a while now...
Amaterasu: You think so? Then I'll just have to make it shine so that people will want to come outside!
Lyria: Wait, I don't know if that's such a great idea! People might gather around you like they did in town before!
On the outskirts of town, locals watch the fields with grave expressions.
Bearded Man: This one ain't any good either... All this rain's been wearin' the rice down.
Woman with Child: Is there no hope left? If the sun doesn't shine again soon, I won't be able to feed my child...
Bearded Man: Gosh darn it, we don't need much! If only it'd clear up right over these paddies a teensy bit...
Senior Citizen: Now don't you go losin' heart! We need to think this through proper.
Senior Citizen: I get how you're feelin', but sunshine over an isolated area? Miracles like that don't just happ—
Senior Citizen: Shoot, it's clearin' up down there...
Woman with Child: Hey, look! Wherever that girl walks, the clear sky moves with her!
Bearded Man: E-excuse me, shiny one! Sorry to trouble ya, but would you be so kind as to do me a favor?
Amaterasu: Hello! Is something the matter?
Bearded Man: I don't rightly understand what's goin' on, but... how're you doin' that? That sunshine thing.
Amaterasu: This is my power! If you wish, I can make it even sunnier!
Bearded Man: Well, I swan! Any chance I could ask ya to clear the skies around these paddies?
Amaterasu: Sure, that's simple enough!
Amaterasu raises her right hand toward the sky and draws a wide circle.
Amaterasu: Light, gather here.
In the next instant, a hole opens in the clouds, letting sunlight pour down over the fields.
Bearded Man: H-heavens to Betsy...
Bearded Man: Yeehaw! If this keeps up, we ain't gonna starve to death after all!
Amaterasu: Ah, I'm sorry! I just wanted to help, and I used my power without thinking!
Vyrn: Sheesh, you really gotta be way more careful.
Huang: I'd say it worked out. Everyone seems pretty pleased.
Senior Citizen: Much obliged, you're a true lifesaver! Please, let us offer a little somethin' in return.
Amaterasu: I just wanted to help!
Bai: Hey, Ama. Since they want to thank you, why not ask them to share their wishes?
Amaterasu: That's a great idea!
Amaterasu: If you don't mind, could you tell me what you hope for?
Amaterasu: I want to learn about the wishes of people! Please allow me to listen!
Woman with Child: ...!
Incredible! Not only did you save us, but you'll grant other wishes too?
Amaterasu: N-no, that's not quite what I—
Child: Waaagh! Waaagh!
Amaterasu: Oh?
Amaterasu's attempt to clarify is drowned out by the cries of the baby being held by one of the locals.
Woman with Child: Ah, I'm sorry... The baby's gotten fussy... He'll stop crying soon enough...
Amaterasu: Please leave it to me!
Amaterasu takes the baby from the woman and gently rubs his back.
Amaterasu: There, there...
Child: Zzz...
Amaterasu: Okay, he stopped crying! Here you go.
Bearded Man: Holy...
Bearded Man: Lord have mercy! That's some real warm, motherly kindness. So you really do grant wishes!
Bearded Man: You must be somethin' divine! We gotta tell folks about you right away!
Townswoman: Oh my... Is that not the graceful child we saw the other day?
Townsman: What luck to meet her again! And she'll even listen to our troubles!
Lyria: So many people are gathering... I-is this going to be okay?
Amaterasu's Voice: I will hear you one by one, so could you please line up in two rows?
Townspeople: Okaaay!
Lyria: Wow... She's already adapted!
Laolao: I guess we'll just have to wait until things calm down, gawr...
Vyrn: Yeah. If she's just hearin' people out, things should calm down soon enough.
Vyrn: Or so we thought...
Bearded Man: All right, easy now! No need to push! Be patient, and you'll get yer turn to speak to Mother Sun!
Woman with Child: Please! Let me meet Mother Sun! I want her to hear my troubles!
Townsman: I can't wait any longer! Mother Sun... Please bathe me in your light soon...
Amaterasu: Good morning, everyone!
Adherents: Uooooogh! Gooood morning, Mother Sun!
Bearded Man: All righty, then! We'll get today's Rite of Radiant Dawn underway. Please line up by your numbered tickets. Mother Sun, if you'd be so kind!
Amaterasu: I'll be listening to whatever's troubling you today!
Vyrn: Phew... This has gone completely off the rails, huh?
All-Encompassing Light: Scene 3
The townspeople come to worship Amaterasu as "Mother Sun," and crowds gather day and night at the shrine. As Amaterasu delights in hearing people's wishes, their fervor grows dangerously intense. Just as (Captain) and the others sense something amiss, Amaterasu is abducted.
Laolao: Boy, did I underestimate this, gawr... Who'd have thought it'd spiral out of control so fast...
True to her words, Amaterasu simply listens to the wishes of those who come before her.
Amaterasu: Uh-huh. So you're apprenticing as a weaver, and your dream is to become a fully fledged artisan?
Apprentice Artisan: Yes. But I've been wondering if I should give up. I've trained for years, yet I haven't improved at all...
Apprentice Artisan: This is the cloth my master made, and this is the one I made. The difference is like night and day, wouldn't you say?
Amaterasu: Hmm...
Amaterasu: I can't tell the difference!
Apprentice Artisan: What? Really?
Amaterasu: Both look like wonderful cloth to me. I don't think I can help with this.
Apprentice Artisan: I see... You had become such a sensation, Mother Sun, that I mistakenly thought you would be able to see right through my inexperience...
Amaterasu: I don't always notice the little things, but I really want to... and I'm still learning.
Amaterasu: I can see how hard you've been trying, though. You said you're still inexperienced, but...
Amaterasu: The years it took you to weave this cloth couldn't have been easy. Even I can see how much effort went into it.
Apprentice Artisan: Ahh! I see you've been watching over all my efforts up until now, Mother Sun...
Amaterasu: I only looked at the cloth and spoke my thoughts!
Apprentice Artisan: Oh, you tease! Your deep, loving kindness shines through—you say that on purpose to spur me on, and I can feel it perfectly!
Amaterasu does nothing more than hear their worries and speak from her heart, and yet...
Touched by her gentle radiance, each visitor leaves with a profound sense of peace.
Vyrn: She's actually real good at hearin' people out. That clueless side of hers somehow puts people at ease.
Laolao: Even so, she's gotten way too popular, gawr. Those first folks were so fired up, they went and built an entire shrine dedicated to her.
Amaterasu: Oh, everyone's here! Is there anything I can help with?
Vyrn: Nah, we're good. If anything, aren't ya tired from listenin' to people all day?
Amaterasu: I am only listening to wishes. That is not tiring.
Amaterasu: Hearing so many wishes actually makes me happy! So as thanks, I'm in the mood to help with something!
Vyrn: Uh... Did we just unleash a walking miracle onto the world?
Amaterasu: Vyrn, your face tells me you're tired. Would you like to rest on my lap?
Vyrn: I-I'm fine! You should get some rest yourself!
Amaterasu: Okay! If anything comes up, please call for me!
Laolao: Hmm... She seems fine, but...
Vyrn: We might wanna stop this while we still can. Feels like something bad could happen if this keeps rampin' up.
As the shrine erupts in an unprecedented Mother Sun craze, the crew begins to sense a vague dread creeping in.
Suspicious figures lurk behind the shrine.
???: Hehe... Looks like we slipped in without a hitch, Little Bro.
???: The townsfolk are so obsessed with that Mother Sun figure, they barely have any security. Easiest job ever, Big Bro!
Big Brother: Mother Sun? Gimme a break... From what I hear, all she does is listen to people's problems.
Big Brother: Which is why any money they've been raking in unfairly ought to be put to better use by us. Ain't that right, Little Bro?
Little Brother: You got that right! It's a scam, so they had it coming! Now where's the take?
Big Brother: From what I heard, they load the earnings onto a wagon for transport. It should be stationed nearby.
Little Brother: Ahah! There it is, Big Bro! Now the money's as good as ou—
Little Brother: Huh? Something's off, Big Bro! There are two wagons! And they look exactly the same!
Big Brother: Huh, that's strange... There ought to be only one wagon carrying the earnings...
Little Brother: Uh-oh, Big Bro! Someone's coming! We'd better get out of here!
Big Brother: Damn! No time to check inside! We'll just have to grab one wagon and hightail i—
Little Brother: Big Bro! One of the wagons is glowing!
Big Brother: Must be a fancy haul inside! We're taking this one!
Bearded Man: Th-this ain't good, y'all! Mother Sun...
Bearded Man: Mother Sun's been kidnapped by a bunch of crooks!
That nagging sense of dread has become reality in a most unexpected way.
Amaterasu: All that shaking must mean we were on the move, but where am I now?
Amaterasu: I was only organizing supplies inside the wagon...
Big Brother: The heck? What's a kid doing in a place like this?
Amaterasu: I am Amaterasu, the one who lights the heavens!
Amaterasu: It is our first meeting, yes? Did you bring me here?
Little Brother: Big Bro! That's Mother Sun! She matches what people in town were saying!
Big Brother: What the... Damn it! What was someone that important doing in the wago—
Big Brother: Wait, Little Bro. Even if it's by accident, we've got Mother Sun here. We can use this.
Little Brother: Ransom, right? That's my big bro! You always land on your feet!
Little Brother: Hey, you! Do what we say, we'll let you go home! Got it!?
Amaterasu: Is that your wish? Understo—
Amaterasu: Ah! How wrong of me!
Little Brother: Huh? What was wrong?
Amaterasu: I forgot what (Captain) and the others taught me! One must not go along with strangers!
Little Brother: Uh... Isn't it a little late for that?
Amaterasu: No, it's all right! If you stop being strangers, then there's no problem!
Amaterasu: So please tell me about yourselves! Then I should be able to hear your wishes!
Little Brother: Is that how it works?
Big Brother: Like hell it is! Listen up—Mother Sun or whoever you are, don't get cocky!
Big Brother: We're the toughest, meanest bandit brothers who'll have the whole world at our feet someday! If you don't wanna get hu—
Amaterasu: Oh, how could I forget! The best way to learn about someone is by talking about yourself first!
Big Brother: No, that's not what I—
Amaterasu: I'm a primal beast!
Big Brother: Whaaaat! You're a primal beast?
Amaterasu: Yes, that's right! And I'm listening to everyone's stories to learn about people!
Big Brother: Wh-why would you do that? Don't tell me—you're plotting to invade the skies?
Amaterasu: At present, I have no assigned mission. I guess you could say listening to people...
Amaterasu: Is my reason for living!
Big Brother: What's that even mean? A primal beast is doing all this because it's her purpose in life?
Amaterasu: Yes! When I listen to people's wishes, I feel happy!
Little Brother: That makes no sense... Big Bro, she scares me...
Big Brother: That's enough, Little Bro. Talking to her any longer is dangerous. Let's tie her up so she can't move.
Big Brother: You're gonna take a nice little nap until we get our ransom, kiddo.
Amaterasu: A nap?
All-Encompassing Light: Scene 4
Rushing to Amaterasu's aid, the crew finds Amaterasu gently comforting the weeping evildoers. Though the crisis passes, Amaterasu chooses to return to the ship to prevent further unrest. At a farewell banquet held in her honor, she reflects once more on the light born of people's wishes.
Vyrn: Darn it... Hope you're safe, Amaterasu!
Laolao: We have to find her fast, gawr! According to the shrine caretaker, those guys are a notorious bandit brother duo, gawr!
Lyria: We have a lead! Someone saw a glowing wagon pass through here! They said it was heading toward the abandoned ruins on the edge of town!
Bai: Ama... Please be safe!
With anxiety weighing on their hearts, (Captain) and company locate the bandits' hideout and steel themselves for what lies inside.
Big Brother: Sob... I always wanted a mommy like you!
Little Brother: Waaahhh! Is it okay if I call you Mommy?
Amaterasu: Of course! Shall I pat your head as well?
Bandit Bros: Yes, please!
Vyrn: What the heck did we just walk into?
The crew is greeted by the sight of the bandits clinging to Amaterasu, tears streaming down their faces.
The brothers initially had something more sinister in mind. However...
Big Brother: N-no way...
Amaterasu: There, there. Rest easy now.
Little Brother: Ehehe... It's so warm... Zzz...
Big Brother: You put my little brother to sleep? What did you do to him!
Amaterasu: Huh? Did I do something wrong? You did say "a nice little nap," didn't you?
Big Brother: That's not what I meant! And what the hell is that move? My little bro never falls asleep that easily!
Unaware of the brothers' malice, Amaterasu unknowingly takes them completely in hand—
Amaterasu: Please tell me your dreams! I want to hear the wishes of people!
Amaterasu: You plan to rule the world? I think that is wonderful! I want to know how you intend to do it!
Amaterasu: Huh? Why should I be afraid of you? Aren't all people precious?
Amaterasu: Of course, that includes you as well! So please, tell me everything.
At first confused, the bandits are gradually won over by Amaterasu.
Bandit Bros: Waaaaah! Mother Sun!
Before long, they fall completely before the boundless affection of Mother Sun.
Big Brother: I'll atone for my crimes and try chasing my dream again!
Little Brother: If we manage to make our dreams come true someday, could you listen to us again then?
Amaterasu: Is that your wish? Of course! I'll be waiting.
Huang: Can't say I follow, but I guess things kind of worked out?
Vyrn: Can we really say this worked out?
While the kidnapping incident is resolved, the growing fervor around Mother Sun prompts her to return to the Grandcypher.
Bearded Man: Sniff... If that's your decision, Mother Sun, we ain't gonna argue...
Bearded Man: But at least let us send ya off proper! We wanna thank you the best way we know how—with a grand feast!
On the day before Amaterasu returns to the ship, a magnificent farewell banquet is held at the shrine erected in her honor.
Senior Citizen: Dance, everyone! Dance and give thanks to Mother Sun!
Amaterasu: Ah... The sight of so many people dancing together is truly magnificent...
Tsukuyomi: But why do they dance? I do not believe the movement itself has any special effect.
Lyria: Maybe they just can't help themselves? How should I put it...
Lyria: Sometimes it's hard to put your feelings into words.
Amaterasu: But we're talking about one's own feelings...
Lyria: Yes. Sometimes you don't fully understand them yourself, or putting them into words might change their meaning.
Lyria: When you carry such feelings in your heart and can't sit still, that's when people feel the need to dance.
Amaterasu: Feelings that are difficult to put into words, huh...
Amaterasu looks once more upon the dancing people and reflects on the days she spent with them.
Those who cried in gratitude, those who spoke of their dreams with smiles—many emotions are gathered there, and yet...
Amaterasu: This must be what I was hoping to seek out in the Sky Realm...
Tsukuyomi: Amaterasu? Is something wrong?
Amaterasu: Tsukuyomi, I want to dance too! Will you dance with me?
Tsukuyomi: Is that an invitation? I know nothing about dance.
Amaterasu: That's why it has to be you! And besides, this will be my first time dancing as well!
With that, Amaterasu takes Tsukuyomi's hand and soars upward.
Bearded Man: Goodness gracious, look at that night sky all lit up!
As the two dance through the air, their trails becomes streaks of light that paint the night sky.
Woman with Child: It's so beautiful...
Before long, the townspeople find themselves gazing upward, watching the two primal beasts.
Amaterasu: Isn't this fun, Tsukuyomi?
Tsukuyomi: I do not fully understand it. But I feel a faint stirring in my chest...
Amaterasu: (The Sky Realm is such a dazzling place... filled with the light within people.)
Amaterasu: (Sankara, was I able to become a light for someone as well?)
What comes to her mind is a needless question—one her former self would never have pondered.
Amaterasu: Hehe...
And yet, Amaterasu finds that very uncertainty strangely comforting.
She cannot yet imagine when the answer will come, having only just stepped into the outside world.
Yet she feels a small certainty that one day, all will be made clear.
