Happy Birthday Cutscenes
# Link Text
1

I'm sure there are others better suited to telling you this, but happy birthday!
I'm glad I had the chance to say this.
I pray that you can spend your days in love and peace.

2

Would it be appropriate for me to shower you with words of celebration?
I was afraid it might not be within my rights to do so.
But I'll say it anyway... Happy birthday.
It gladdens my heart to know that you've survived another year.
I pray you'll be in good health for the next year as well.

3

Happy birthday, (Captain).
For me to be able to wish you happiness is fortuitous luck.
Let me continue to follow you, (Captain).
Let us walk down the same path for as long as it will take us...

4

Happy birthday, (Captain).
I wasn't sure whether I should congratulate you or not...
But I decided that should my final hour come to pass, it would be a tragedy to not have said anything.
Speaking with you, being with you—these are just my selfish desires.
But I truly wish to stay beside you, so that one day I may see my dream fulfilled.
(In truth... I have no hope left...)
(However, that's why I want your life to be a blessed one.)

5

Happy birthday, (Captain).
Allow me to be at your service on this very special day. Just say the word and it will be done.
I can hardly repay you for all that you've done for me, but if it is within my power, I will do anything for your sake.
You always shine so beautifully. As tainted as I may be, I will do whatever it takes to protect that light.
It would be my honor. I happily offer everything I have to you.
Now, use me however you like... Tonight, I'm all yours.

Happy New Year Cutscenes

1

Welcome to another exciting new year.
It's so cold outside, won't you stay inside and spend the evening with me?
Hey, come closer... No need to be shy.

2

Hm, what's the matter? Where do you plan to go amid these freezing temperatures?
Haha, I knew it. You don't want to go outside and turn numb.
Come closer. It won't feel so cold if we huddle together.
Haha... You make me feel so warm, Captain.

3

You always watch the first sunrise of the year without fail.
It doesn't mean anything. The sun rises everyday, bright as usual.
Just because light is shed upon the year doesn't mean that the world will undergo change.
But the moments spent with you are an unchanging delight.
I don't think it would be selfish of me to want to be with you for all of eternity...
And I won't let this precious moment slip away either.
Why don't you direct your attention away from the sun and toward me instead?

4

A new year... It's not as if today is any different than yesterday, however.
But then again, sometimes the unchanging nature of the world is form of salvation.
Take for example, (Captain)... The constant warmth of your hand or the invariable affection of your voice...
These things have certainly saved me.
(Captain)... May I stay with you a while longer?
As long as you are with me, I feel that I can carry on living—even if I'm never cleansed of my sins.

5

(Captain)... What is this?
A blanket to keep me warm while I wait for the sunrise?
Thank you... Then let's wrap this around us us both. It'll be warmer with two of us.
Despite losing my cause and merely treading through these cursed days...
Here I am now, wondering to myself what cause there could be.
How could there be anything more precious than this happiness I feel in this very moment from feeling the beat of your heart, reminding me again that I am alive?
I know it is foolish to think that we can stay this way forever...
But at least until the sun rises... I hope we can remain like this for just a while longer...

Valentine's Day Cutscenes

1

I made this candy especially for you. Haha... Is it that surprising?
Ahaha, you're blushing. You can be so cute sometimes, you know...

2

(Captain), I have something for you.
Haha, I might drop it if you keep rushing me.
Here you go. Here are some snacks I made for you... Sorry if it seems trite.
Is it so trite that you find it boring?
Haha, I suppose I should have tried feeding them to you myself.
Right, maybe for next year's Valentine's. I'll have to remember that.

3

Today is Valentine's Day.
I don't know what you were expecting to happen, but I did make sweets for you again.
Please take these.
There are a lot of people that want to give you valentines.
But I think my sweets are filled with a deeper sentiment than all the others.
By the way, last year I said I'd feed you if that's what you wanted...
Of course that offer still stands.
Well? What should I do?

4

(Captain), this is for you. It's a Valentine's Day present.
It's just candy. But while I was making it, I was thinking of you.
It's like I was that innocent village girl once more...
Nothing compares to the happiness you give me.
Even so, if you find this candy pleasing, then I will be saved in a matter of speaking.
That is to say... I will have finally made you happy...

5

(Captain)... I tried making something again for this year's Valentine's.
I'd like you to have this. And if you'd be so kind to listen to one more request of mine...
May I watch as you eat it?
There's no special reason. I just... want to see you enjoying what I made specially for you.
Though there may not be any merit to it, your happiness is my happiness. I've put my everything into making this for you.
I've tasted it myself, of course. I believe it to be the most delicious out of all that I've made for you so far.
Well then... Open wide...

1

For me? Thank you, you have no idea how happy this makes me.
(I may one day snatch away someone important to you...)
(And I will accept all your anger and sadness with open arms.)
(Even if this present should become a memento of distant memories past...)

2

For me, (Captain)?
Thank you. That's very kind of you.
Even though I had the audacity to point my sword at you...
Your forgiveness means so much to me. Thanking you once isn't enough.
I promise I'll stop at nothing to make you and the others as happy as I feel right now.

3

What's this? Ah, a White Day present.
Thank you.
These are butter cookies! You still remember my favorite treat...
...
Really, thank you so much. I'll be sure to enjoy these.
Hm? You want me to eat them as soon as possible?
Yes, you're right. Here's what we'll do. I'll open my mouth, and you'll place a cookie gently inside.
That's not going too far, is it?

4

This is for me?
...
Thank you. It brings me joy to know that you thought of me.
(I have nothing to give back to you, (Captain)...)
(Perhaps one day I'll be able to thank you like you deserve...)
(No... That would be wishing for too much...)

5

(Captain)... Is this for me? In return for what I gave you the other day?
Thank you... I look forward to having it.
I know it's futile to worry, but... I can't help it. I start thinking to myself... What if you didn't have anything for me this year?
As your crew increases in size, those you hold close to your heart also increase.
Seeing this, I know from the bottom of my heart that you are not one to be disloyal.
But that is exactly why receiving a gift from you gives me joy beyond measure.
I'm sorry, (Captain)... Thank you, truly.

Trick or Treat Cutscenes

1

Mm? Trick or treat... Haha, what kind of a trick are you going to play on me?
I'll gladly take anything you're willing to give me as a trick.
C'mon now, don't be a tease... I'm right here...

2

Haha! Happy Halloween. What's wrong, Captain? Aren't you going to play a trick on me?
Don't tell me you're scared.
Hahaha. In that case, I'll be the one to play a trick on you.
Oh? You'd prefer I be on the receiving end?
Fine. I'm ready for you, Captain...

3

Trick or treat... Oh, so you did come prepared with candy.
I guess you'd rather not be acquainted with my tricks. Whatever.
I'm interested in seeing what you can spring on me instead.
So keep your candy.
Do whatever you like. I can take anything you throw at me.
Don't be shy now. I'll be waiting...

4

Happy Halloween. Would you prefer a trick or a treat?
If you'd like both, then I shall arrange that.
It brings me joy to see you joyfully munch away at candy.
But then again, if you were to play a trick on me, I would happily indulge you.
So... what shall it be? We will do whatever you desire...

5

Hehe. Allow me to play a trick on you this year, (Captain).
First, we'll entwine our fingers... That's it, slowly...
Yes... I can feel the warmth of your body. Hehe, you don't have to be so stiff. Just relax.
Next, we'll...
Hm? What's the matter? You're turning quite red.
We're only closing the distance between us, enough to feel each other's breaths... But if that threw you off, then I suppose my trick was a success.
Or were you hoping I'd continue with my trick?
I don't mind either way, (Captain). You choose.

Happy Holidays Cutscenes
# Link Text
1

Happy holidays, (Captain). A holy night like this... does not suit me the way I am now...
Haha, how kind of you. But please don't make such a sad face.
Your smile is the greatest gift for me now. Something more would be...
It's really cold, can you give me a hug? Haha... Please?

2

The holiday season no longer suits me...
And yet I still love the snow and how it covers everything in pure white.
Perhaps if the snow covered and froze my heart, I'd be free of this torment.
But no... Running from my sins will not do.
Even if it means letting the torment drag me down into madness!

3

Tell me, (Captain). Is this holy night supposed to be so freezing cold?
Though the streets are filled with joyous voices, all I hear in my heart is silence.
It's cold and dreadful...
Will you take my hand, (Captain)?
Squeeze my hand as if to fill that void... More, more!
Mm, warmth. Your hand alone is always warm.

4

I hear the voices of children at play...
Is it the winter festival? I remember when I too felt like those children during this time of year.
Such innocence, when you look past the surface, is simple ignorance.
Once you've realized this truth, you can never return to purer days.
I suspect that I won't ever...
Ah, excuse me, (Captain). You've come to invite me to the festivities?
I'm afraid I must refuse—I had planned to pray in my room.
Don't make that face. It's more than enough that you came to invite me.
Truly...

5

What's the matter, (Captain)?
You want me to join you in singing holiday carols?
I'm sorry, but I will have to turn down the kind invitation.
I'm afraid I'm not fit to celebrate the holy night...
I'll only stain the noble sentiments with which you sing, you see...
You tell me I'm thinking too much into it, but I don't think I can do it, (Captain).
Now go. They're waiting for you. I'm happy that you went out of your way to invite me—thank you.
I shall offer up my prayers as I listen to the sweet sound of your singing.

A Tale of Two Jeannes

Jeanne d'Arc is sucked into a spring and emerges having been duplicated into two. The second Jeanne turns out to be the spirit of the fountain, who legend says will disappear once satisfied. Claiming to embody Jeanne's desire, the spirit asks (Captain) to slather her with sunscreen.

Deep within a certain forest, on the bank of a mystical spring...
Jeanne d'Arc?: So what do you say, (Captain)? Let's do something naughty together.
Jeanne d'Arc?: I'm sure you must be excited too, seeing me like this.
Breathing a bewitching sigh, Jeanne d'Arc gently touches (Captain)'s cheek.
Jeanne d'Arc: Enough!
The person who knocks away her hand is none other than Jeanne herself.
Jeanne d'Arc: Have you no shame! Fountain spirit or not, I will not have you doing such things while in my form!
Jeanne d'Arc?: Hehe. Really, what's the harm? (Captain)'s cheeks were burning scarlet. Clearly my advances were more than welcome.
Jeanne d'Arc: Don't be ridiculous! The sun has been beating down on us all day. Anyone would be flushed in this heat!
Jeanne d'Arc: Isn't that right, (Captain)?
Jeanne d'Arc?: Don't be shy, (Captain). The truth is you're feeling all hot and bothered too, aren't you?
The two press in, turning the captain into a Jeanne sandwich.
Lyria: Oh my! Please calm down, Jeanne—both of you!
Vyrn: Yeesh, now I've seen everything. How'd we end up in this mess?
Vyrn and Lyria think back on the events that led to the bizarre scene unfolding before them.
Earlier that day, (Captain) and the crew had wrapped up a mission to exterminate monsters threatening a village.
Before reporting back to the village chief, they decided to take a dip in a nearby spring to wash away the sweat and grime.
Lyria: Ahh, it's so cool and refreshing! Floating in a spring like this almost makes it feel like we're at the pool!
Vyrn: If Jeanne hadn't suggested we bring our swimsuits, we never would've had the chance to take a dip. It's all thanks to her!
Jeanne d'Arc: You're too kind. I am honored to receive such high praise from you, Master Vyrn.
No version of Jeanne d'Arc in crew

Jeanne d'Arc is a young woman who spends her days fighting in accordance with a revelation that commanded her to save the world.
Sensing the same presence in Vyrn as the great entity that bestowed the revelation upon her, she treats the little dragon with utmost reverence.
Jeanne d'Arc: (This takes me back. My fellow crewmates and I reasoned that it would be far more efficient to carry swimsuits should the need to bathe outdoors arise.)
Jeanne d'Arc: (And that's when I purchased this one...)
Lyria: We're going so f-fast, (Captain)!
Vyrn: Yikes! I'm slipping, I'm slipping! Grab me, Jeaaanne!
Jeanne d'Arc: Oh no! Hang on, Master Vyrn!
Jeanne d'Arc: (Haha. Thanks to this swimsuit, I was even able to go river rafting with everyone. That was quite the thrilling experience...)
Lyria: Hehe. Jeanne, you're all smiles!
Jeanne d'Arc: Hm? Was my expression truly that lax?
Lyria: Yeah! Taking a nice soak together is really fun, isn't it?
Vyrn: Bet that's part of it. But it looked like you were rememberin' something good too, huh?
Jeanne d'Arc: ...!
Jeanne d'Arc: Er, well... Nothing of importance.
Jeanne shakes her head and stares blankly at the surface of the water.
Jeanne d'Arc: (Yes—such reminiscing is pointless. That was a mere intermission. The curtain has already risen on my tale...)
Jeanne d'Arc: (I am Jeanne d'Arc, the war maiden. If I intend to fulfill my mission to save the world, I don't have the luxury of merrymaking.)
Jeanne d'Arc: (That's simply the way it is.)
Her reflection in the water ripples as it stares back at her.
The next moment...
Jeanne d'Arc: ...!
What is this light?
Jeanne d'Arc: Whoa!
Lyria: Jeanne!
Jeanne is suddenly swallowed up by the spring, and the light gradually fades.
Jeanne d'Arc: Bwah!
Lyria: Jeanne, are you okay?
Jeanne d'Arc?: Bwah!
Vyrn: ...
Huh?
Much to their surprise, a second Jeanne emerges from the water's depths.
Village Chief: Ah... This is the work of the fountain spirit.
Vyrn: Fountain spirit?
The village chief explains that he had come rushing to the spring upon seeing a column of light rise from it.
Village Chief: This spring is known in the village as the "Reflecting Fountain." It's said to be inhabited by a particular spirit.
Village Chief: According to legend, the fountain spirit manifests in the image of an individual it selects in order to bring them good fortune.
Lyria: So our Jeanne was chosen by the fountain spirit... and the other Jeanne is the spirit itself?
Jeanne d'Arc: But this state of affairs obviously can't be permitted to continue. How do we return things to how they were?
Village Chief: Well... Apparently the spirit will disappear on its own once it is satisfied.
Jeanne d'Arc: Satisfied? That's not exactly descriptive...
Jeanne d'Arc: I am the embodiment of Jeanne's desire... a personification of the darkness within, if you will.
Jeanne d'Arc: That being said—(Captain). Why don't we do something naughty together?
Jeanne d'Arc: Argh! I will not allow such behavior!
Vyrn: This sure has turned into a crazy ordeal.
Lyria: Ahaha... What should we do now?
Vyrn and Lyria breathe a collective sigh as they watch the dispute taking place between Jeanne and the fountain spirit.
Jeanne d'Arc: Now then, (Captain). Before we begin, would you kindly slather sunscreen on my body?
Jeanne d'Arc: I want your palms to trace every nook and cranny of this soft, porcelain skin...
Jeanne d'Arc: S-stay your hand, doppelganger! Don't even think about undoing the string of your top!
Jeanne d'Arc: Hehe. Surely you understand what the correct course of action is here...
Jeanne d'Arc: Ngh!
Jeanne d'Arc: (In order to rid ourselves of this spirit, we must ensure she is satisfied. Do we have no choice but to allow her to do as she pleases?)
Jeanne d'Arc: ("Bring me good fortune"? Hah! This is no more than a living nightmare!)
Jeanne d'Arc: Sunlight is a maiden's worst enemy, far more fearsome than the foe of the world itself. The fate of my complexion is in your hands, (Captain).
Jeanne looks on bitterly as the fountain spirit pulls a tube of sunscreen out of her bathing suit.
Will the true Jeanne be able to resolve this baffling situation?

A Maiden's Desire

The fountain spirit tells the crew that she wants to enjoy some fun in the sun with them, and they agree to her seemingly harmless demand. Unable to stand seeing herself in such a depraved state any longer, Jeanne returns to the inn alone.

One day, as the crew is washing off in a spring after a mission, a second Jeanne appears before their eyes.
Learning that a fountain spirit has manifested as a reflection of her own desires, Jeanne struggles to return things to normal.
Jeanne d'Arc: Mm... Yes, that's the spot. A little slower, if you will?
  1. I'm on it.
  2. But what about Jeanne?

Choose: I'm on it.
Jeanne d'Arc: Hehe. Well, aren't you obedient? You're really getting into this.

Choose: But what about Jeanne?
Jeanne d'Arc: She understands the situation at hand. Hehe, it would be a waste for you not to enjoy yourself too, don't you agree?
Continue 1
The fountain spirit lies face down, the strings of her top dangling at her sides as (Captain) applies sunscreen to her back.
Jeanne d'Arc: (Curse you, fountain spirit! Why must you sully my image so?)
Jeanne d'Arc: (But she'll vanish once she is satisfied. I suppose I must endure for now...)
Jeanne d'Arc: I think my back is just about covered. Now for the front—
Jeanne d'Arc: W-wait! That is undoubtedly crossing the line!
Jeanne d'Arc: Hehe, I was merely jesting. I won't ask you to go that far.
The spirit reties her bathing suit and applies sunscreen to the remaining patches of skin.
Jeanne d'Arc: With that, the preparations are all in order. Let us move on to more naughty deeds.
Jeanne d'Arc: What exactly are you plotting? If it's something that could be considered immoral or indecent, then—
Jeanne d'Arc: I want to enjoy a bit of fun in the sun together with the crew.
Jeanne d'Arc: ...
Come again?
Jeanne d'Arc: Swimming in the spring, walking in the woods... That sort of thing.
Vyrn: Wait, did you just want (Captain) to put sunscreen on you so you could play outside?
Jeanne d'Arc: That was the plan all along. Is that all right with you, (Captain)?
Though surprised at the seemingly harmless request, the captain nods.
Jeanne d'Arc: ...
Vyrn: That's a relief, huh, Jeanne? Sounds like a pretty tame demand.
Jeanne d'Arc: Forgive me. I believe I will return to the village and rest at the inn.
Lyria: What's wrong, Jeanne? Are you not feeling well?
Jeanne d'Arc: I simply do not think I can stand to see myself in this depraved state any longer.
Jeanne d'Arc: And if I continue to interfere, we will never succeed in satisfying the fountain spirit.
Jeanne d'Arc: (Captain)... I apologize for placing this burden on you, but please look after my alter ego.
  1. Got it.

Choose: Got it.
Jeanne d'Arc: ...
Thank you.
Head bowed, Jeanne hurries away from the spring.
Vyrn: Think Jeanne's okay? She didn't really seem like herself...
Jeanne d'Arc: ...
The spirit watches Jeanne leave with a thoughtful expression. But it is soon replaced with an alluring smile as she turns to face the others.
Jeanne d'Arc: Now then—(Captain), Vyrn, Lyria. My idea of fun is rather extreme. But I plan to have you see it through to the end.
Vyrn: Extreme? What exactly are we gonna do?
Jeanne d'Arc: Hehe... I'll show you to a very special place. Follow me.
Licking her lips in apparent anticipation, she marches off.
(Captain) and company follow after her, wondering what awaits them at their destination.

A Maiden's Desire: Scene 2

Though satisfied after barbecuing, swimming in the river, and walking in the forest with the crew, the fountain spirit fails to disappear. She tells the crew to return to the spring the following day, and they head back to the inn.

Jeanne d'Arc: Ohh, (Captain)! It's positively glistening!
Jeanne d'Arc: Hehe, still holding out on me, are you? What a tease. You must have a wealth of experience with this sort of thing.
Jeanne d'Arc: But I don't think I can take it any longer... Hurry, give it to me! Please!
Vyrn: All right already. Here's your grilled fish.
Jeanne d'Arc: Ahh! Seasonal fish dripping with fat... and grilled to perfection.
Lyria: I was a little worried at first, but it turns out all you wanted to do was have a barbecue!
Jeanne d'Arc: Well, since people say not to play with fire, I thought it qualified as "extreme."
After catching fish on the riverbank with the fountain spirit, they proceed to grill and eat their haul.
Jeanne d'Arc: It appears the fish I skewered is ready to eat.
Jeanne d'Arc: Here, (Captain). Open your mouth for me.
Jeanne d'Arc: Say "ahh"...
Jeanne d'Arc: My, is it that delicious? Hehe, I'm delighted.
Lyria: Aw, that's not fair! I want to feed (Captain) too!
Jeanne d'Arc: Hehe, then you should listen to your heart. It's important to be honest with yourself.
(Captain) and company find themselves laughing and enjoying their time together with the fountain spirit.
Although her mannerisms are clearly different from those of the original, it still feels as if they are hanging out with their own Jeanne.
After the barbecue, they join the spirit in splashing in the river and walking through the forest until the sun begins to set.
Jeanne d'Arc: We certainly made the most of our time together, didn't we? I'm feeling very satisfied.
Vyrn: Glad to hear it. I gotta admit, we had fun too.
Lyria: But if you're satisfied, that means we'll be saying goodbye soon, right? That's a little sad...
Jeanne d'Arc: No, I'm not fading yet.
Lyria: What!
Vyrn: Hold up. I thought you were gonna go poof when you were satisfied...
Jeanne d'Arc: Those were the words of the village chief. I never confirmed nor denied such a thing.
Vyrn: Seriously? Then what're we supposed to do now?
Jeanne d'Arc: I would like you to return to this spring tomorrow at midday. If no progress is made at that time... then that will be the end of it.
Lyria: Progress? And what do you mean by "the end"? The end of what?
Jeanne d'Arc: To put it simply, she will be the one to disappear instead of me.
Vyrn: What! Are you plannin' to do somethin' to Jeanne?
Jeanne d'Arc: You three must be tired from all the excitement today. Let us continue this tomorrow.
Jeanne d'Arc: Until then.
Flashing a brazen smile, the fountain spirit dives into the spring.
Overcome with a sense of apprehension, (Captain) and company return to the village inn where Jeanne awaits.

A Maiden's Desire: Scene 3

Unable to sleep that night, Jeanne encounters the fountain spirit, who asserts that Jeanne secretly wants to kick back and relax with the crew. When Jeanne refuses on behalf of her mission, the spirit provides a hint on how to make herself disappear.

Late that night, Jeanne d'Arc finds herself unable to sleep and wanders out of the inn to gaze at the moon.
Jeanne d'Arc: This is quite the predicament I've been dragged into. Not to mention all the trouble it's caused for (Captain) and the others...
Jeanne d'Arc: Why in the skies did the fountain spirit choose me of all people?
???: Save the world.
Jeanne d'Arc: Huh?
Jeanne d'Arc: I suppose I was already chosen... long before this.
Jeanne d'Arc: I cannot afford to remain here resting on my oars.
Jeanne d'Arc: I have been entrusted with a mission. This is no time for dillydallying—
Jeanne d'Arc: I want to enjoy a bit of fun in the sun together with the crew.
Jeanne d'Arc: Swimming in the spring, walking in the woods... That sort of thing.
Jeanne d'Arc: So why... Why does that scene haunt my vision?
???: Were you envious?
Jeanne d'Arc: ...!
Why are you lurking in the shadows!
Hearing her own voice behind her, Jeanne reflexively spins around.
Jeanne d'Arc: The sight of me enjoying myself with (Captain) and the others made you unspeakably jealous. Isn't that why you ran away?
Jeanne d'Arc: Those are our true feelings. Escaping back to the inn won't make them go away, as I'm sure you have discovered.
Jeanne d'Arc: Stop speaking nonsense!
Jeanne d'Arc: I am Jeanne d'Arc. I must lead my people and carry out my mission. And to that end, I have abandoned the mundanity of happiness!
Jeanne d'Arc: An admirable mindset. It makes your bravado all the more painful to witness.
Jeanne stares into her own face, half illuminated in the moonlight.
Jeanne d'Arc: Why won't you disappear? Aren't you satisfied after spending all day frolicking around with (Captain) and the others?
Jeanne d'Arc: ...
Jeanne d'Arc: I am a mirror, in essence. Even a child knows how to make their reflection in a mirror smile, don't they?
Jeanne d'Arc: ...!
Jeanne d'Arc: Deep down, you know the answer. The time has come to stop living in denial.
With a gentle smile, the fountain spirit makes her way back into the forest.
Jeanne d'Arc: ...
Jeanne d'Arc: Stop living in denial...
The remaining Jeanne looks back up at the moon, losing herself in thought.

A Maiden's Desire: Scene 4

When (Captain) and company return to the spring, Jeanne asks them to join her in a bit of recreation, proclaiming that both her commitment to her mission and desire for time with the crew make up who she is. As they enjoy some fun together, Jeanne realizes how fortunate she is to have them by her side.

The following day, (Captain) and company return to the spring as the fountain spirit had instructed.
Lyria: Um, Miss Spirit... We're here, so what comes next?
Jeanne d'Arc: I'm not the one you should be asking.
Jeanne d'Arc: Isn't that right, Jeanne?
Jeanne d'Arc: ...
Vyrn: Jeanne? What're you doin' here?
Jeanne d'Arc: (Captain), Master Vyrn, Lyria. I have something to confess, so please hear me out.
Jeanne takes a deep breath and turns to look at (Captain) and company, her eyes filled with resolve.
Jeanne d'Arc: I want to... have fun with all of you!
Lyria: Huh?
Jeanne d'Arc: The only way to make your mirror's reflection smile is to smile yourself.
Jeanne d'Arc: In other words, if I am not satisfied, the spirit won't be either.
Jeanne d'Arc: I have to face myself. Not the war maiden persona that I have been tasked to take on, but who I am at the core.
Vyrn: Jeanne...
Jeanne d'Arc: The fountain spirit has been projecting the true feelings that I keep suppressed.
Jeanne d'Arc: I've always wanted to let my hair down and enjoy some leisure time with you all. But I thought doing so would be "naughty" behavior.
Jeanne d'Arc: I believed that fulfilling my mission and being true to my feelings were incompatible.
Jeanne d'Arc: So... will you forsake the world and choose instead to live happily ever after as an ordinary girl?
Jeanne d'Arc: No, I won't.
Jeanne d'Arc: You and I both make up who I am. That is my answer.
Jeanne d'Arc: ...
Jeanne d'Arc: It is impossible for one of us to exist without the other. In the end, we are both Jeanne d'Arc.
Jeanne d'Arc: So (Captain)... please join me in a bit of fun-filled recreation today!
Her expression determined, Jeanne bows deeply to (Captain) and company.
The others exchange glances, unable to keep from smiling at her earnestness.
Vyrn: Thanks for finally tellin' us how you really feel, Jeanne.
Vyrn: Even though invitin' friends to hang out is no big deal, I know it must've taken a bunch of courage for you.
Lyria: I feel the same way! I want to have fun with you too, Jeanne!
Lyria: I know you have a really hard mission, but that's all the more reason to let loose now and then. Otherwise it'll all be too much.
  1. Let's live it up!

Choose: Let's live it up!
Jeanne d'Arc: ...!
Jeanne d'Arc: Thank you, everyone.
Jeanne d'Arc: Then it's decided. The five of us will spend today enjoying ourselves to the fullest.
Vyrn: Wait, five? Did you just invite yourself along?
Jeanne d'Arc: I don't mind. After all, it isn't every day you have the opportunity to spend time with your own doppelganger.
Jeanne d'Arc: Hehe, thank you. I look forward to having a bit more fun before I disappear.
Thus, (Captain) and company enjoy fishing and barbecuing with the two Jeannes.
Jeanne d'Arc: Oh, I caught one! I believe this is what you call a "lunker"?
Jeanne d'Arc: But the one I caught is far more lustrous and beautiful.
Lyria: They both look delicious! Let's all eat them together!
Jeanne d'Arc: That sounds wonderful.
Jeanne breaks into a bright smile as she enjoys her time without a care in the world.
As the sun begins to set, the fountain spirit tells the crew that it's time for her to say farewell, and they return to the spring.
Jeanne d'Arc: With your assistance, I have come to see myself in a new light. I owe it all to you.
Jeanne d'Arc: Never forget the fact that you're just an ordinary girl named Jeanne d'Arc at heart.
Jeanne d'Arc: Otherwise you may very well lose sight of yourself, end up being manipulated, fail to fulfill your mission... and disappear.
Vyrn: I get it now. So when you said she was gonna be the one to disappear, you were really just worried about her.
The fountain spirit smiles and begins to glow with a white light.
Jeanne d'Arc: Please watch over me. I will prove to you that I can do what I must, as well as what I desire.
Jeanne d'Arc: Hehe. I look forward to it.
Jeanne d'Arc: ...!
As the light fades, the fountain spirit is nowhere to be seen. Only the sound of trickling water remains.
After reporting back to the chief, (Captain) and company depart from the village and head for their next destination.
Vyrn: Things were a little touch and go there for a while, but at the end of the day it was a blast!
Lyria: Yeah! We got to have so much fun with Jeanne!
Jeanne d'Arc: I must extend my heartfelt gratitude to you all for accepting my invitation.
Jeanne d'Arc: (According to the village chief, the fountain spirit brings good fortune...)
Jeanne d'Arc: (But in my case, it simply made me realize how fortunate I already am to have (Captain) and the crew by my side.)
Vyrn: By the way, that fountain spirit was doin' things you secretly wanted to do, right?
Jeanne d'Arc: Yes, as embarrassing as it is to admit...
Vyrn: Then does that mean you'd been wantin' (Captain) to put sunscreen on you this whole time?
Jeanne d'Arc: Huh?
Lyria: Oh yeah! I was wondering about that too!
Jeanne d'Arc: Er, well... You see...
Jeanne d'Arc: Master Vyrn, Lyria, please spare me!
With her cheeks burning brightly, Jeanne appears as no more than an ordinary girl.
She vows to continue fighting for the sake of her mission, while striving to accept herself for who she is.
