|What Makes the Sky Blue|
|One of the very first primal beasts ever created, he is known as the supreme primarch who commands all other archangels. His purpose is to oversee and guide evolution within the skydoms. His appearance is said to be the spitting image of the Astral researcher who created him.|
- According to an interview with Granblue Fantasy director Tetsuya Fukuhara, the summon Lucifer was originally conceived as a collaboration character with Rage of Bahamut. However, like many other characters that originated from Rage of Bahamut, he was repurposed to better fit the Granblue Fantasy universe. As a result, there was a mismatch between his summon and NPC journal descriptions; the former was based on his role in Rage of Bahamut, while the latter was based on his role in the What Makes the Sky Blue event series. The summon's description was updated in April 2020 to match his role in the Granblue Fantasy universe.
- According to Sandalphon’s fate episode, Lucifer invented coffee and taught the skydwellers how to make it.
- Lucifer comes from Latin meaning 'light-bringer' or 'the morning star' as a proper name for the planet Venus. Lucifer is a name often associated with the Satan of Christian mythology and often believed to be his name before his fall from the heavens. It is also associated with the Roman deity who served as a personification of the planet Venus, who was the son of the Roman goddess of dawn, Aurora.
- Lucifer as the highest ranking primarch is referred to as by the other primarchs as the tenshichou, traditionally written out in kanji as 天使長 but the middle kanji is altered in Granblue Fantasy to write out 天司長 instead. The term translates to English as “archangel” but in the English translation, Lucifer is instead referred to as the Supreme primarch to match the general term used for the original primal beasts as a collective.
