The Secret to a Holy Night Gift
One day, Wamdus visits Stardust Town and discovers the children decorating the streets for the holy night. The children invite her to join in and she happily agrees to help. When Mugen offers up a cake he had baked as practice for the winter feast, Wamdus realizes that she wants to give something to her friends too. She goes to Santa Claus for advice and thanks to his help, she decides to find something delicious as a gift.
Stardust Town—a place where children who once had nowhere to call home have come together to create one themselves.
Off in a corner of this little town, a special door can be seen opening. From it steps Wamdus, one of the Six Dragons.
Wamdus: Heya. Guess who's here.
Wamdus: Also... what's all that for?
Sunny Scott: Oh, it's Wamdus! Heya! We're out here to decorate the street trees!
Wamdus: It does look that way. So is this today's work? I'll help too!
Sunny Scott: This isn't work! But we're not exactly playing either. Hmm, how should I put it...
Wamdus: It's different from work? Now I'm lost.
Mature Mia: The island's longest night of the year is almost here; we call it the holy night!
Mature Mia: People decorate their homes and streets for it, as a way to get into the festive mood.
Mature Mia: See how the trees sparkle now? Doesn't that make you wanna jump and dance around?
Gazing at the bustling street full of children putting up decorations, Wamdus gives a big nod.
Wamdus: Yeah. I think I get it.
Wamdus: Seeing things sparkle makes me smile too!
Sunny Scott: Right? So c'mon and join us, Wamdus!
Wamdus: Sure! I'm in. Looks fun, after all!
Mature Mia: There's a lot of decorations that still need to be made first, so let's do that together! I'll teach you how to cut out the shapes.
Wamdus: Ooh! You can make these sparkly things? Wow!
Sunny Scott: Yeah! We're gonna jazz up the entire town and give Santa Claus a big surprise!
Wamdus: I remember Santa Claus... He leaves a present for children beside their pillows on the holy night.
Sunny Scott: Can't wait to open mine!
Mature Mia: You know Santa only gives presents to the good kids, right?
Sunny Scott: Of course I know that! What're you trying to say?
Wamdus: I know all of you in Stardust Town always give your best.
Wamdus: You're good kids. So I'm sure you'll all receive presents!
Sunny Scott: Yeah, what she said!
Mature Mia: You always let things go straight to your head...
As the chatter continues, Wamdus and the children dress the trees one by one.
Mugen's Voice: Everyone, where?
Mature Mia: Oh, Mugen! Over here!
Mugen: Good job decorate! Mugen make dessert. Take break and eat!
Sunny Scott: Hooray! Dessert!
Mature Mia: Thanks, Mugen! Let's rest and have a snack, Wamdus!
Wamdus: Smells so good... You're getting better and better at making food, Muge.
Mugen: Mugen use recipe, first time by self. Mugen taste, eat corner. Bad, no, but...
Mature Mia: Well, it's perfectly baked, so I'm sure it's fine. This is sponge cake, right?
Mugen: Yeah! Sponge cake. Put cream on top.
Wamdus: Whoa, freshly baked! Sounds delicious!
Mature Mia: Whipping the cream and the batter for the cake must've been tiring. You worked hard on this cake, Mugen!
Mugen: Heheh. Mugen have strength, so whip no problem.
Mugen: Holy night has feast. Mugen want eat big cake with everyone, so practice.
Mugen: Mugen make yummy cake for everyone in Stardust Town and (Captain)'s crew!
Sunny Scott: Iffo yummy awwedy...
Wamdus: No talking with your mouth full. It's bad manners!
Sunny Scott: Chew, chew... Gulp.
Sunny Scott: I said it's already so yummy, but good on you for wanting to practice and get even better!
Mugen: Thanks. Bake big cake, more hard than bake this one.
Mugen: Practice important. Mugen want make cake everyone will think delicious.
Wamdus: A cake... everyone thinks is delicious...
Wamdus: I think I'm going to copy you, Muge.
Sunny Scott: Copy Mugen?
Wamdus: Yeah. I want to do something that will make everyone happy on the holy night too.
Wamdus: Everyone's always so nice to me, after all!
Mature Mia: But you're helping us with decorating the trees already. That's more than enough!
Wamdus: Maybe, but that's not exactly what I mean. I want to bring people joy.
Mugen: For instance, how?
Wamdus: Hmm...
Wamdus: I don't have an answer off the top of my head... but I'll figure something out!
Mature Mia: I'm excited to see what it'll be! Aside from the feast, there's gonna be performances and other things on the holy night too!
Mature Mia: I really hope you can spend it with us here in Stardust Town, Wamdus!
Wamdus: I will!
Promising to be back on the special winter night, Wamdus takes her leave.
Wamdus: Grr...
Wamdus: Coming up with something that everyone will like is harder than I thought!
Wamdus: What should I do...
Wamdus: ...
Wait.
Wamdus: In times like this, you're supposed to ask for advice. Fortunately, I know a professional!
Wamdus hops through her door and arrives on a snow-laden island, in the middle of which a single house stands.
Wamdus: Knock knock!
Santa Claus: Oh? Well, well. What a rare visitor we have here!
Wamdus: Heya, Santa Claus. It's Wam.
Santa Claus: Good afternoon, Wamdus. To what do I owe the honor?
Wamdus: No need to talk so formally. You and I are pretty similar, after all.
Santa Claus: Hm, I'd say a wedge that preserves the skies is quite different from little old me.
Wamdus: You're an existence born of the goodwill felt toward the skies' smaller lives.
Wamdus: It's not much different from me or the rest of the Six Dragons. Like you, we take influence from the emotions that flow from the sky's inhabitants.
Santa Claus: Ho ho ho. A convincing argument. I'm honored to be seen in the same light.
Santa Claus: It's a little messy, but please—come inside.
Wamdus: Thanks for having me.
When Wamdus steps inside, several little helpers immediately run past her feet.
Wamdus: Ooh... They look busy.
Santa Claus: Yes. With the holy night coming up fast, the little hands are hurrying to get all the presents ready. I apologize for the chaos.
Wamdus: Not at all. I did come unannounced. Do you have time to talk?
Santa Claus: I was just thinking of taking a break. Why don't we talk over a cup of tea?
Wamdus: Thanks.
Soon Wamdus is sipping on a cup of freshly brewed tea and explaining her thoughts to Santa Claus.
Santa Claus: Aha, I see. A gift for the holy night.
Wamdus: Yep. I want to do something for everyone in Stardust Town and (Captain)'s crew, since they've helped me a lot.
Santa Claus: Mm, there is nothing grander than a gift from the heart.
Wamdus: How do you usually choose what to give?
Santa Claus: Oho, that's a good question. Actually, I'm not the one choosing.
Wamdus: Huh?
Santa Claus: The presents I deliver embody the sentiments felt by those close to the child.
Santa Claus: They are an accumulation of the warm thoughts that surround each child—hopes and prayers for their safety, health, and happiness.
Wamdus: Does that mean...
Santa Claus: Yes. Without enough of those thoughts, a gift can't be created by myself alone.
Santa Claus: As one whose very existence is for the sake of children everywhere, such cases weigh heavily, so heavily, upon my heart.
Santa Claus: There are many children in Stardust Town to whom I couldn't deliver presents before.
Santa Claus: But ever since these children have found a home with others, I haven't had to worry about them spending the holidays without enough love.
Santa Claus: It's wonderful. It makes me so glad that I can now deliver presents to the young residents of Stardust Town.
Wamdus: I see... So that's how it is.
Santa Claus: I'm sure that wasn't the answer you were expecting to hear from me.
Wamdus: True. I'm not sure what to do now.
Santa Claus: Rightfully so. You know, not every gift I give is happily received. The present isn't always something the child wants.
Wamdus: ...!
That happens?
Santa Claus: Remember, the gift isn't what the child picks.
Santa Claus: It's a physical expression of the feelings that others have for them.
Wamdus: Right... So sometimes it can be disappointing too?
Santa Claus: Ho ho ho, certainly. Sometimes children who prefer running around outdoors get books instead, and so on.
Santa Claus: But even an unwanted gift can open new doors and make its recipient's life even better.
Santa Claus: Perhaps you can consider gifting something that you want to give, Wamdus.
Wamdus: Something that... I want to give...
Wamdus: Hmm...
Wamdus: I want everyone to feel happy.
Santa Claus: Wonderful. And what's something that brings you that sort of happy feeling?
Wamdus: Me? I feel happy when...
Mugen: Empty, not stomach. Mugen think.
Wamdus: Well, something in my body's definitely felt empty. Like I was missing something.
Mugen: Mugen think. Stomach not empty. But heart.
Mugen: Empty feeling... maybe lonely.
Wamdus: Lonely?
Wamdus: I'm feeling... lonely?
Mugen: Mm. When play sugoroku, Wamdus not hungry. Not empty.
Mugen: Play fill emptiness, Mugen think. Together is fun.
Wamdus: I love eating something nice together with everyone! Not that games aren't fun too.
Wamdus: It's not nice when you're hungry. You feel lonely and have no energy.
Wamdus: I want to give everyone something delicious to eat!
Santa Claus: Ho ho ho! That sounds like a splendid gift!
Wamdus: Yeah. I'm going to go find the most delicious thing in the skies!
The conversation with Santa Claus sparks a new idea in Wamdus.
Stepping out into the snow, she determines that the gift she seeks may be found in Auguste.
Holy Night Gifts Are Wonderful
Thinking to gift some bonito, Wamdus goes to Auguste—only to discover that bonito is not in season in the winter. Ippatsu happens to show up and suggests some seasonal deepflight oysters instead. Wamdus and Ippatsu hunt for them together, getting along quite well. Afterward, the two head to North Vast hoping to find their next ingredient: crab.
Hoping for some ideas on what to gift the children of Stardust Town and (Captain)'s crew, Wamdus had paid a visit to Santa Claus.
Deciding to surprise her friends with something delicious, she ponders her next move.
Wamdus: Something delicious... Something delicious...
Wamdus: Muge's desserts? Logia's cooking? Or maybe I should make it myself...
Wamdus: But it's not like I can become a master chef that fast. Wil was the same.
Wamdus: I could look for the ingredients and ask someone else to help me make it...
Wamdus: Hmm... Bonito are delicious but hard to catch for mortals. I remember we got one at Auguste before!
Wamdus: I should head to Auguste first. There's plenty of yummy things there!
Her spirits high, Wamdus opens a door and steps through to the beaches of Auguste.
Wamdus: Bonito, bonito...
A lady at a seaside stall happens to overhear and calls over to Wamdus.
Stall Staff: You looking for some bonito, miss?
Wamdus: Yeah. I'm thinking of catching one.
Stall Staff: Catching one? Hm, that's going to be a bit tough...
Wamdus: I'll be fine! I'm pretty strong.
Stall Staff: Ahaha, oh yeah? Still, it's not bonito season right now, unfortunately. They don't taste all that great this time of year.
Wamdus: ...!
Wamdus: There's times when... they don't taste good?
Stall Staff: Yeah, it's just not the same flavor in the winter. That's why the fishermen don't even bother catching them.
Stall Staff: Not a lot of bonito are available in the market. Same with bonito flakes—we stop making them around autumn...
Wamdus: I see...
Wamdus: Hm, not off to a great start. What now?
Ippatsu's Voice: Excuse meee!
Stall Staff: Hi, welcome! Can I help you with anything?
Ippatsu: Yes! I'm looking for some bonito flakes for my ramen soup stock...
Ippatsu: Huh? Are my eyes deceiving me?
Ippatsu: Is that you over there, Wamdus?
Wamdus: Yep, it's me.
Wamdus: Oh. You're from the singularity's crew...
Ippatsu: Sure am! Ippatsu, at your service! Fancy seeing you here.
Wamdus: What a coincidence. Hello.
Ippatsu: Hello, hello! Are you here to stock up on some dried goods too?
Wamdus: Well... I came here to catch a bonito. But this lady told me they don't taste good this time of year.
Wamdus: I wanted to get something yummy for everyone...
Ippatsu: Ah, sharing is caring indeed.
Ippatsu: Does it have to be bonito, Wamdus?
Wamdus: ...!
Wamdus: Nope. Anything's okay, as long as it's delicious!
Ippatsu: All right! That makes things a lot easier.
Ippatsu: If I remember correctly, deepflight oysters are in season right now. Can our expert here confirm that?
Stall Staff: They certainly are! Keeps the deepflight oyster harvesters busy these days!
Ippatsu: What about some deepflight oysters instead of bonito?
Ippatsu: They are a bit of an acquired taste, but there are a lot of ways to cook them.
Ippatsu: The insides of the oysters are very nutritious and good for the body!
Wamdus: Ooh. Deepflight oysters could be good! Thanks for telling me! I'll go harvest some then.
Ippatsu: Sorry, do you know where deepflight oysters are usually found?
Stall Staff: Huh? Um, for the fresh ones... Probably along the rocky part of the shore. Getting a hold of them won't be easy though!
Ippatsu: Should be fine on that part. Thank you!
Wamdus! Wait for me, please!
Having successfully acquired a decent amount of bonito flakes, Ippatsu follows Wamdus on her new quest.
Wamdus: You want to help me catch deepflight oysters?
Ippatsu: Yes! I'd love some fresh ones for the master to use...
Ippatsu: Let's get some together!
Wamdus: Okay!
The two hide in the shadows of the rocks, patiently waiting for the oysters to come flying. Wamdus takes the opportunity to explain her mission to Ippatsu.
Ippatsu: Ah, so it's going to be a gift to everyone!
Wamdus: Yeah. It's too bad the bonito idea didn't work out...
Ippatsu: Crabs could be good as a present too! They're in season as well.
Wamdus: Oh! Crabs? Can we catch some here in Auguste?
Ippatsu: I'd say North Vast is more known for their crabs!
Wamdus: North Vast! I'll head there after we get the deepflight oysters!
Ippatsu: Aha, speak of the oyster... Look, Wamdus!
Wamdus: Hiyah.
Ippatsu: Hraaah!
The pair work together to catch a number of deepflight oysters, and Wamdus uses her power to freeze them.
Wamdus: Now they won't go bad before it's time to eat. The stomachs of mortals aren't that strong, so better to be safe.
Ippatsu: The power of the Six Dragons sure does come in handy!
Wamdus: Off I go to North Vast then! Thanks for the help!
Ippatsu: Oh, Wamdus! Would you mind if I came too?
Ippatsu: (She's no doubt powerful, but her childlike stature could prove an obstacle moving forward...)
Ippatsu: I'm on a mission to collect different ingredients for the ramen master to cook with.
Ippatsu: It'd be really great if I could tag along and get a few more ingredients!
Wamdus: Ooh, I guess we're both looking for something yummy! Sure, let's go!
Wamdus: I want to know more about food and what makes it delicious too!
Ippatsu: Heheh. Then you're talking to the right man!
As they continue their pleasant exchange, Wamdus opens yet another portal, and the two zip to North Vast.
Holy Night Gifts Are Wonderful: Scene 2
Despite coming to North Vast for crab, Wamdus and Ippatsu are immediately told that there are heavy regulations on crab hunting, and that crab prices are also high for the season. Seeing their disappointment, a kind representative from an outpost in the area introduces them to some temporary assistance work. When the two hear that they may be able to get crabs for cheaper as well, they agree to work at the outpost.
Ippatsu: It's so cooold! North Vast never changes!
Wamdus: Are you okay?
Ippatsu: Yes! I've been here before, so I'll be fine!
Wamdus: All right. Let's get crab hunting then!
Ippatsu: Sounds good! Wait for us, crabbies!
Wamdus and Ippatsu proceed to borrow a boat, with the full intention of heading out into the open sea.
Outpost Rep: Huh? Crab hunting? No, no—you can't just catch them whenever you want! There are regulations on how many can be caught.
Wamdus: There are?
Outpost Rep: Of course. Crab fishing in North Vast is no easy feat anyway. Not exactly suitable for a young lady like you...
Ippatsu: Back then, I found out the hard way...
Outpost Rep: Not to mention there was an incident in the past involving a tyrannical captain of a crab fishing boat.
Outpost Rep: A lot of islands and countries come to study North Vast, you see, and they collectively decided on some things.
Outpost Rep: They developed a bunch of rules on fishing and how much you can catch. That's why you can't just fish at your convenience.
Wamdus: I see... Rules are important.
Wamdus: Still, it'd be great if I could get some yummy crabs for my friends... How can I do that?
Outpost Rep: Hm, for personal use, huh? I see...
Outpost Rep: It'd be a lot easier to just buy the crabs, but they're a little on the expensive side right now due to being in season...
Wamdus: I've been saving up! Would it be enough?
Outpost Rep: Well, that'll depend on the size of crab you want...
Wamdus: I want a big one! Enough crab to fill everyone's stomachs!
Wamdus: I... don't have enough...
Outpost Rep: Ah... That's too bad. Let's see... I've got an idea.
The representative kindly offers Wamdus and Ippatsu temp work at the outpost.
Outpost Rep: We're always short on hands anyway, if you'd be all right with receiving payment in goods.
Outpost Rep: We might be able to sell some crabs to you for cheaper too. Ones that aren't in pristine condition 'cause they've got a missing leg—stuff like that.
Wamdus: Really? Then I'll work super hard!
Ippatsu: Hold it, Wamdus! Don't say yes to anything until you've read the contract!
Ippatsu: (Terrible things have happened in North Vast before... Don't go through what I did.)
Outpost Rep: Ah, we do have the paperwork on hand. I'll call over one of the higher-ups. Wait right here.
Wamdus: Thanks! I'd appreciate that a lot!
Once Wamdus and Ippatsu receive their contracts, they look over the papers and finally sign their approval. And so their seasonal work at the outpost begins.
Holy Night Gifts Are Wonderful: Scene 3
During her time at the outpost, Wamdus quickly gains popularity with the other staff. She realizes that although the quality of food is important, what matters most is being able to eat together with others. Hearing that the local fish have short shelf lives but are great for making hot pot, Ippatsu suggests Wamdus bring some back. The outpost staff teaches her how to cook the dish and she heads back with fish and crab in hand.
Wamdus: Surveyors, gather round!
Ippatsu: Oho, you caught some deep-sea fish! That's amazing!
Research vessels and fishing boats flow in and out of the port of North Vast as Wamdus and Ippatsu are hard at work.
Wamdus: Here's some tea! Warm yourselves up!
Veteran Surveyor: Ah, thank you, Wamdus.
Wamdus: There's more, so let me know!
Veteran Surveyor: The port's gotten a lot livelier since you came, Wamdus. Have you gotten used to the job yet?
Wamdus: Yeah! I learn pretty quickly!
Outpost Rep: It's been great having you here, Wamdus.
You've been busting your hump too, Ippatsu.
Ippatsu: Haha. It's nothing compared to crab fishing, really.
Veteran Surveyor: Ah! So you've had some experience crab fishing? I heard it used to be quite the nightmare.
Outpost Rep: It has gotten a bit better, but only due to the recent changes.
Veteran Surveyor: We've got to prove that there's warmth to be found within North Vast. All righty...
Veteran Surveyor: I'll talk to some crab fishers I know and see what I can do for you two. Leave it to Gramps!
Wamdus: Ooh! Do you think I'll be able to buy some big crabs?
Veteran Surveyor: I'll let them know to give you ones that'll taste good, even if they don't look the best.
Wamdus: Thanks! I'd appreciate that a lot!
Wamdus: I want to make sure all my friends' bellies fill up with crab!
Outpost Rep: You're always thinking about others...
Veteran Surveyor: Think I just might cry... You're one of the sweetest visitors we've ever had way out here.
Despite her overwhelming popularity at the outpost, Wamdus stays focused squarely on her goal, and she continues doing her job diligently.
Wamdus: Huff... Whew! Can I put this box here?
Outpost Rep: Oh, thanks! I'm going to make a quick meal using the fish inside. Won't take long!
With practiced hands, the man cuts the fish into pieces and adds them into a big pot.
Ippatsu: Ooh! Is that stew you're making?
Outpost Rep: It's nothing fancy! Even though we use fish with short shelf lives or ones that sell for a pittance, they still make a mean broth.
Outpost Rep: Next I'll need to cut up some vegetables...
Ippatsu: Ah, I can help! I may not look it, but I'm not too shabby at cooking myself.
Outpost Rep: Excellent! It's a giant pot of stew, so I'll need all the help I can get. Thanks, Ippatsu.
Outpost Rep: Wamdus, would you start gathering everyone up for the meal?
Wamdus: Sure! Leave it to me.
Wamdus and Ippatsu join the hungry workers for a meal around the large, steaming pot.
Veteran Surveyor: Here you go, Wamdus. This fatty bit's really good, so give it a try.
Wamdus: For me? Thanks! Then I'll give you... this clam from my bowl!
Veteran Surveyor: Aw, thanks.
Ippatsu: Nom, nom... Whew, this really warms you up!
Outpost Rep: You gotta eat to survive the cold! There's plenty for seconds, so no need to hold back!
Ippatsu: Thank you. I'll take you up on the offer.
Veteran Surveyor: Sluuurp... Aah... This broth hits the spot! Hodgepodge is the good stuff.
Wamdus: Hodgepodge?
Veteran Surveyor: That's what we call stew made from a whole bunch of things thrown together.
Veteran Surveyor: A mix of flavors is the perfect dish for a place that's home to all sorts of folks, no?
Wamdus: A mix of flavors...
Wamdus: I like that! It's the hodgepodge of many forms of life that makes the Sky Realm so fun.
Outpost Rep: Haha, you got it!
Outpost Rep: So how about it? Up for seconds of this hodgepodge, Wamdus?
Wamdus: Yeah! Seconds, please! It's delicious!
Wamdus: Delicious, and fun. I love it when everyone's having a good time together like this.
Wamdus: Yummy food is a big part of it, of course... but the most important thing is sharing it with everyone.
Wamdus: Even if something didn't taste good... I'm sure we would still be smiling as long as we're together.
Veteran Surveyor: True. As long as we've got someone to share with, even if the food's bad, we could still laugh about it.
Ippatsu: Still, nothing beats a real good meal!
Outpost Rep: Hahaha, you're right about that!
Veteran Surveyor: Aw, come on! Wamdus was making a good point there. Whippersnappers just don't understand...
Wamdus: Hehe.
Ippatsu: By the way, I noticed you used a kind of fish with black specks for the broth.
Ippatsu: Is that a fish native to North Vast?
Outpost Rep: Yup. It's easy to catch and gives a ton of flavor to the broth. Doesn't keep well though, so most traders don't bother exporting it.
Veteran Surveyor: Not that North Vast is a trading hot spot anyhow.
Veteran Surveyor: Sure we've got a few delectables, but a ton of magic is needed to freeze them in large quantities, and transportation isn't cheap either.
Ippatsu: I see...
Ippatsu: You could probably bring some back with your door though, Wamdus.
Wamdus: ...!
You're right. Can I buy the fish that was used in the broth?
Veteran Surveyor: No need to buy! If you can take them with you, feel free to have as many as you want.
Veteran Surveyor: Darn things love getting caught in the nets when we want bigger and better fish to fry.
Ippatsu: Amazing! What an excellent haul for us in addition to the crabs!
Outpost Rep: I'll teach you how to gut them too. I've got a trick that'll make it a lot easier.
Wamdus: Thanks! I'll do my best to learn!
Wamdus and Ippatsu spend a productive time at the outpost, even learning how to make stew from the workers during their breaks.
Wamdus: Thanks for everything!
Veteran Surveyor: Sigh... It's gonna get lonely without the two of you around anymore.
Outpost Rep: Here, take these fish and some seaweed with you too. As much as you can!
Ippatsu: Thank you! You've truly done so much for us.
Outpost Rep: Don't worry about it. It's what we do here! Gotta help each other out, right?
Wamdus: I'm really grateful! It's thanks to everyone that I'll be able to get my present ready for the holy night.
Veteran Surveyor: You both put in a lot of effort to get what you needed. I'm sure everyone will be so happy when it's done.
Wamdus: Yeah... I hope so.
Wamdus: Oh! Can I come visit again sometime? I'll help with work, of course!
Veteran Surveyor: We'd love to have you back anytime! We'll be waiting.
Wamdus: Okay! Thanks, Gramps! See you next time!
Wamdus and Ippatsu step through the door once more, just as the men set out into the ocean of North Vast for another day of work.
Holy Night Gifts Are Wonderful: Scene 4
Wamdus returns to Stardust Town with Ippatsu. Everyone has a splendid time together on the holy night, gathering around to enjoy Wamdus's gift of seafood at the feast. The children of Stardust Town also gift Wamdus with a new outfit which she immediately puts on, all the while basking in the holiday cheer and the experience of exchanging gifts with each other in mind.
Wamdus: We're here.
Ippatsu: Ooh, feels downright tropical compared to North Vast!
Mugen: Oh, Wamdus! Ippatsu here too. Happy holiday!
Wamdus: Happy holidays. Tonight's the holy night for Stardust Town, right?
Mature Mia: Yep! The longest night of the year for the island!
Sunny Scott: We hadn't seen you in a while, so we were wondering if you were okay! Where'd you go?
Wamdus: I visited a few nice places and brought back some good stuff!
Mature Mia: Oh, okay! We're about to start cooking tonight's dinner, so look forward to it!
Wamdus: I'll do some cooking too! With Ippatsu's help, I mean...
Wamdus: I couldn't gut the fish at all... The whole thing turns to mush whenever I try it...
Ippatsu: Ahaha, allow me! I'd be glad to assist!
And with that, they head to the kitchen where they begin preparing a lavish feast for the evening.
Everyone in Stardust Town gathers around the table, where a number of scrumptious-looking dishes have been placed.
Wamdus: Ooh!
Sunny Scott: Wow! They all look so yummy!
Mature Mia: The stew you made smells so good, Wamdus! Fish stew, right?
Wamdus: Heheh. The star of the show's over here though.
Wamdus: Ta-da.
Sunny Scott: Wha! What the... Is that food?
Wamdus: It's crab. I got my hands on really delicious ones! Let's have them together.
Mugen: Ooh. This is crab!
Lyria: Happy holidays! We're here!
Vyrn: Thanks for inviting us today! We brought over a few dishes too!
Mugen: Lyria! Vyrn! (Captain)! Thanks for coming!
Lyria: Happy holidays, Mugen!
Oh, Ippatsu! You're visiting Stardust Town too?
Ippatsu: Actually, I wasn't planning on staying, but...
Wamdus: A meal's always better when you eat it with other people!
Ippatsu: Ahaha, it's hard to say no to a welcome like that!
Lyria: Hehe. I agree—the more the merrier!
Vyrn: Whoa, that's a lotta crab! What's goin' on?
Wamdus: It's my present to everyone. Hope you all enjoy it!
Vyrn: Amazing! They're huge, and there's so many of them... More than enough for everyone here, that's for sure!
Mature Mia: But make sure to save some room for Mugen's cake!
Wamdus: Oh yeah! That's really important!
Lyria: Hehe. Shall we get the feast started then?
Sunny Scott: It's time! Start us off, (Captain)!
- Cheers!
Choose: Cheers!Everyone swarms the food in high spirits and proceeds with their long-awaited winter feast.
Once their stomachs have been filled, the children occupy themselves with games until they are no longer able to resist the drowsiness.
Sunny Scott: Ngh... I can't eat any more...
Mugen: Mugen carry everyone to room!
Mature Mia: Thanks, Mugen... I'm getting so... Yaaawn...
Lyria: Hehe. (Captain) and I will help Mugen out, so just take it easy!
Mature Mia: Oh... Thanks...
Wamdus: With their tummies full, I hope they'll have sweet dreams tonight.
Mature Mia: You're always so nice, Wamdus... so here's something for you too!
Wamdus: Hm? What's this?
It's a big box. So sparkly...
Mature Mia: Hehe. We got Tien and Feower to help make this for you! It's a gift from all of us.
Wamdus: Wow! Is this... an outfit? I want to try it on! Can I?
Mature Mia: Of course! Let's see how you look in it!
Wamdus: There! What do you think?
Mature Mia: It looks great on you! So cute!
Lyria: Oh! You look adorable in those clothes, Wamdus!
Wamdus: Hehe. I got this from everyone in Stardust Town and tried it on right away!
Mugen: Wamdus good fit! Very nice.
Wamdus: Thanks. I really love it!
Mature Mia: You're welcome! You always help us with our work, and even brought all that crab and food for us today...
Mature Mia: We wanted to thank you too! I hope we can continue spending more time together, Wamdus.
Wamdus: Of course!
Wamdus: I'll wear this tomorrow. Let's get everyone together and play!
Mature Mia: Yay, okay! Can't wait for tomorrow!
Wamdus: Heheh.
The gifts exchanged on this holy night warm both the body and soul.
Wamdus discreetly uses her power to make snow fall on Stardust Town, so that everything is ready for another full day of fun when morning comes.
