One day, Jeanne tried to save a certain village after receiving another revelation. However, forces of the village and the tyrannic lord engaged in a brutal battle, until there was nothing but a pile of corpses left. Having witnessed that, Jeanne started feeling doubt and regret. Happy Birthday Cutscenes
#	Link	Text
1	✔	Happy birthday! Everyone has certain things that only they can accomplish. And for that to happen, people have to come and go—it's a fact of life. Even we may have to part ways one day, (Captain), but know that I'll always be praying for your safety. Just knowing that you're in good health, wherever you are, would be the greatest joy for me. I hope you'll be in good spirits next year too. And the year after... And every year after that...
2	✔	Happy birthday! I'm happy to be with you on your special day, (Captain). Just as you'll reach the ends of the sky one day, I think I'll also be able to fulfill my dream. Maybe I can be like you and chase after what I want with everything I've got. I can see your passion for adventure twinkling in your eyes—I think it's beautiful. Maybe this is a little selfish, but I hope to be by your side through it all. If I can be helpful along the way, then I'll be all the happier.
3	✔	Happy birthday, (Captain)! I'm so happy that we can celebrate your special day together. It's such a blessing to be alive—you can dream big, and wish for as much as you want. I'm thankful for your sake as well, that you are fortunate enough to be able to continue your journey to the ends of the skies. Of course, you were only able to come across this fortune because of the efforts you put in from day to day. You have my deepest respect for the effort and the determination you put in every day. Along with my reverence and gratitude, I offer my best wishes to you on this day. Happy birthday!
4	✔	Happy birthday, (Captain)! Hehe, you and the others must have had a great celebration if that bright smile is anything to go by. Isn't it wonderful to spend a day making merry with friends? There is no greater happiness in my opinion. The birthday celebrations I had with my village brought much joy and inspired me to become a person deserving of it. I'm grateful. It is because of all the wonderful people I've come to know that I am who I am. In the same way my friends have done good by me, I shall continue to strive to be a good friend to you. Hm? You wish to know who you are to me? Why, you are one of the wonderful people I am proud to call my friend, of course.
5	✔	Happy birthday, (Captain). The thought of you challenging another year with bright hopes fills me with joy. Despite bearing the weight of the crew's expectations on your shoulders, that pressure doesn't faze you at all. It's one of the qualities I admire most about you. To stand at the forefront of the people, eyes on a goal, and waving the flag of inspiration... That is the ideal standard in my mind. Following your example, I can't let down the people of Orleans either. Although I was tasked with the mission of saving the world, all I really wish for is world peace. That's why I want to show no fear when I stand before the people, just like you do, though I'm still not there yet. But I have faith that I will someday. I will become someone that you and the people of Orleans can be proud of.

Happy New Year Cutscenes
#	Link	Text
1	✔	Happy New Year. I look forward to another great year for us. The start of a new year is truly a momentous occasion. I always find myself feeling refreshed. Of course, that's not to say the previous year was spent in waste... Regardless, I vow to train harder than ever this year! There's no telling when the chance to save someone will come -- I must be ready for it. Better safe than sorry, as they say.
2	✔	Happy New Year, (Captain)! Let's hope good health finds us this year as well! I suspect my studies in Orleans will continue to pile up, but that's another reason to stay in good shape. In order to reach a big goal, one has to take care of all the small things one-by-one. (Captain), your big goal is to one day arrive at the ends of the skies. To successfully get there, you should take care not to get sick or injured on the way.
3	✔	Happy New Year, (Captain)! I'm glad we were able to make it through another year together. I am a soldier of Orleans, and you, (Captain), are a skyfarer. Both of us have the duty of risking our lives in times of need. As that is our resolution as well as our pride, we must take care of ourselves in times of peace so that we can give our all when the time comes. In order to protect that peace and overcome the trials that we may face, this year, let's continue to train ourselves and grow stronger together.
4	✔	Happy New Year! It brings me great joy to be able to ring in another year with you. We managed to spend our peaceful days living in good health and cheer, just as we set out to do. For the battles that we did fight, we proved to be formidable warriors. I am grateful that the heavens have not yet decreed me unworthy. We should decide on our goals for this year—the first of which must be to continue diligently training. As long as we remain dedicated, there is no challenge that we cannot overcome!
5	✔	Happy New Year, (Captain). These yearly greetings between us have become routine, haven't they? Which is why I wanted to reiterate the powerful impact spending New Year's with you has had on me. My resolve to fulfill my mission is unbreakable. Nevertheless, being commanded to "save the world" is a very tall order. I do get very anxious at times. It makes me wonder if I'm actually making any progress toward the mission at all. But then we extol the exploits we've had over the past year and make new goals for ourselves. In doing so, it galvanizes me for the year to come, thus raising my morale. So I just wanted to thank you again, (Captain). Nothing would make me happier than to have you by my side like you have always been.

Valentine's Day Cutscenes

1	✔	Happy Valentine's! Won't you please accept my gift? Haha. This is just my way of thanking you for everything you've done for me. I hope they match your tastes. I made them myself. If you find you really like them, please do let me know. I made a pretty big batch, and I'd be glad to bring you more!
2	✔	Happy Valentine's Day, (Captain)! This is for you. I baked these sweets with love. I made sure to taste them properly, so I don't think you'll find the flavor strange. Although this gift represents my gratitude, if I force it on you, then I guess that defeats the purpose of giving it. Anyway, thank you for everything you do, (Captain). Seeing the lengths you go for others makes me want to do the same. Maybe that'll be our little competition, to see who can bring more joy to the world.
3	✔	Hm? Did I bake anything, you ask? Well, actually, I just finished wrapping something for you... Why? You look forward to what I make for you every year? Really! I'm so glad to hear that! It makes the hard work I put into baking worth it. Yes, I made plenty this year too, so there will be enough for seconds. Have as much as you like... Oh! I suppose you'll get thirsty if you eat so many. What would you like to drink, (Captain)? May I suggest some milk to go with the chocolate cookies?
4	✔	A happy Valentine's Day to you! I've baked treats and prepared hot milk for you this year as well. I remembered you said you preferred your milk warmed up. Hehe, it feels like I'm slowly getting to know you through these gifts and listening to your feedback. It's a nice bonus in addition to showing you my appreciation. Now come, partake before everything cools down. There should be more than enough to satisfy. After all, it wouldn't do to spare any expense for your sake!
5	✔	Happy Valentine's Day, (Captain)! I have drinks and dessert all ready to go. Please have a seat. Haha, what do you think? I faithfully crafted things you've asked for in the past. How many times have I given you a gift before? I dare say I know exactly what your taste buds crave by now. Oh... Actually, I shouldn't speak that way. Pride goes before the fall. Just like in a battle, one must remain focused and vigilant. I will study your every twitch and reaction while you eat in order to create an even more delicious gift for you next year. Now then, (Captain)! Don't mind me. Please eat as much as you like, and give me your honest impressions.

1	✔	Hm? This is for me? Thank you so much! You make me so happy! Though it's not only the gift that makes me happy—it's the thought that does. Just knowing that you went out of your way to pick out a present for me fills me with joy. I hope to be able to gladden the hearts of others like you one day. Hehe, I'll just have to work at it!
2	✔	You're giving me a White Day gift? Thank you, (Captain)! I'm so happy! I'm still a very inexperienced skyfarer. I'm trying my best, but I'm not certain if I've been very helpful. But now I've received a gift from the very captain... I guess that I've been on the right track all along. After all, a captain wouldn't give someone a present for performing poorly, would they? I'll try my best from now on not to take advantage of your kindness. Allow me to thank you one more time... Thank you, (Captain). I want to continue to be the type of person that you and our allies can trust no matter what.
3	✔	Thank you so much for preparing a gift for me on White Day, (Captain). Receiving something from you like this makes me so happy... To me, it proves that I was able to stay true to myself and live in an upright manner throughout the past year. Hehe. I'll have to put in more effort so that I can receive a gift from you next year as well... Ahh! Um, that's not what I mean, (Captain)! It's not like I'm asking for a gift or anything... You understand? Oh... Thank you, (Captain). Haha. Looks like I'll have to direct more effort toward being careful with my words as well.
4	✔	The gifts you bring always give me joy, and I thank you for them. Though... If you'll forgive me for making assumptions, have your gifts grown in scale and grandeur with every passing year? Surely you're not going out of your way to please me, are you? So... Your feelings of appreciation and affection for me simply grow by the year... I see. It would be rude of me not to acknowledge such an upfront admission. Thank you, (Captain). Your kind words shall serve as a pillar of strength and motivation for my own betterment.
5	✔	Thank you for the gift, (Captain). I appreciate it. This is quite the large package however. I don't think I can finish these by myself. Hm? You gave me this much so that we may have a tea party together? Ah, you remembered what I said about how much I treasured spending time with you. The reason why people gravitate towards you is due in no small part to your selfless consideration for others. Of course you can count me as one of your fans. If news of our private tea party gets out, it might ruffle a few jealous feathers, but I'm prepared to take that risk!

Trick or Treat Cutscenes

1	✔	Happy Halloween! Hm? You want to know what I'm doing? A group of kids were playing around and made a mess of this costume. I thought it would be a real shame to leave it like this, so... I took it upon myself to patch it up. Halloween only comes once a year. It's best if everyone can enjoy the festivities with a smile.
2	✔	Happy Halloween! The kids look like they're having fun with their costumes. And, um, actually... I tried making a simple costume myself... I didn't have enough time, so all I managed to do was make an Erune-ear headband. Do you think that sounds strange? I saw some kids playing with similar headbands several days ago, and I just couldn't help myself. So, ahem, (Captain)... If it's all right... Would you please try it on? I want to see if it looks all right. You will? Great! Then follow me to my room!
3	✔	Okay, keep stirring so it doesn't burn... Oh, (Captain)! Happy Halloween! Yes, I'm making pumpkin jam to give out to the children. Hehe, jam can last for a long time, and it's good for both slathering on toast or adding to your drink for some extra flavor. You have to keep stirring it so it doesn't burn, but it really sticks, so the stirring ends up being quite the workout... Hehe, but since I've been keeping myself in shape, it's not too big of a problem. I'm glad that my training is useful in aspects other than battle!
4	✔	Happy Halloween! How many treats have you gathered already? If you don't have enough, I can offer you some. I was just about to head into town with a whole bag of treats. I intend to hand them out to children while keeping an eye out for loitering miscreants. A night of celebration is very tempting for unsavory fellows to take advantage of. Which is why I shall stand guard and ensure the happy evening passes peacefully. Would you like to join me? Thank you! Let us be off for the town then!
5	✔	Happy Halloween, (Captain)! Have you come to help me again with the night patrol? I see... Then I wonder if you'll entertain another request of mine... I've been giving some serious thought about wearing a costume this year. During last year's Halloween patrol, the children were worried I wasn't enjoying myself because I wasn't dressed up. I would like to avoid dampening their spirits a second time around. But if I were the only one in costume, I would feel—how should I put this—awkward? However, if you were to join me in dressing up, (Captain), I would be ever grateful. You will? Thank you! No, really. I can't thank you enough. Wait here. I won't take long to change. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by what you see!

Happy Holidays Cutscenes
#	Link	Text
1	✔	Happy holidays! Huh? You want to know who I'll be spending my time with? Hrm, with all my friends in the crew I suppose. The winter chill will be tough to brave, but days like this when we can just relax and enjoy each other's company makes it all the more bearable. Even when surrounded by frigid snow, the company of others helps me forget the cold and have a good time. It's important to remember that we're not alone. Haha... Shall we go and prepare dinner?
2	✔	Happy holidays, (Captain)! Today's a festive night! The children can barely contain their excitement waiting for Santa Claus! Huh, me? I'm a little too old to get presents from Santa Claus... Right? Although I do cherish all of the presents that I've received in the past. Mm? What kind of presents? Let's see... My favorite was a stuffed rabbit, I guess. I used to make clothes for Mr. Bunny myself. That's how I learned to enjoy sewing. I hope the children will forever treasure the presents they receive tonight.
3	✔	Hello, (Captain). Happy holidays! Oh... I'm sorry, that was a little loud, wasn't it? I was doing some vocal training just now. I'll need to get used to lowering my voice again... Hm? Why vocal training, you ask? Why, for the holiday carols, of course... Oh! Come to think of it, other towns might not have the same customs we do. In Orleans, everyone gathers and offers up a song of prayer on the holy night. I was practicing so my song can ring out and reach the creator in the skies above... Huh? You want to hear it? O-oh, well... All right, then I will sing it once more for you.
4	✔	Happy holidays, Captain. Have you finished hanging up ornaments? I also just returned from helping the village children decorate a holiday tree. They really enjoyed the small Santa Claus doll I made... So much so that they were about to fight to see who could place it on the tree. I'll have to make more for next year. What? You wish you could have seen it? Hehe, how about I make one for you next year as well? If it will brighten up your holy night, then I shall be happy to do it.
5	✔	Ah, I finally found you, (Captain). Last year I promised to make you your very own Santa Claus doll, and I have come to deliver on my promise. Please take this. Whether you place it under the tree or in a windowsill, I'll be happy just knowing it has a home somewhere. Haha. I'm glad you like it. There's something fulfilling about putting up decorations that you make yourself. I hope every holy night is as peaceful and relaxing as tonight. No, I shouldn't be "hoping," so to speak. It is my mission to protect the peace. I will do my best every day in order to secure another harmonious holy night with you, (Captain).

A Maiden's Revelation

Though naturally skilled with a sword, the young Jeanne was afraid of hurting others and always held back in battle. But when a revelation told her to save the world, Jeanne realized that she must take up arms if she is ever to save anyone.

---

No version of Jeanne d'Arc in crew

---

Jeanne d'Arc was told through divine revelation to save the world.

As Jeanne struggled with what she should save the world from, and how she would go about accomplishing the task, she became friendly with the crew during their visit to Orleans.

Sensing in Vyrn a presence oh-so-similar to the being who bestowed the revelation upon her, Jeanne asked to join the crew.

She became determined to find, through her travels with (Captain) and company, a way to save the world.

Shortly after her addition to the crew...

Any version of Jeanne d'Arc is a crew member

---

One day, not too long after Jeanne d'Arc joins the crew...

After a tough assignment that lasted until the evening, the exhausted crew decides to turn in early for the night.

Jeanne also decides to get some shut-eye. Deep in her sleep, she has a dream of her younger days.

Jeanne d'Arc: (Orleans, my dear hometown, was built by a hero who fought against the Astrals during the War.)

Jeanne d'Arc: (We train daily to prepare for another assault from the Astrals.)

Jeanne d'Arc: (Yet it is a peaceful life—little different from the serenity you see in most other towns.)

Jeanne d'Arc: Ngh...

Local Woman: Hm? Ah, if it isn't Jeanne. That's quite the haul you've got there.

Jeanne d'Arc: Hello! My father caught lots of fish by the river today. I'm just handing them out.

Local Woman: My, how sweet of you! Can I have one too?

Jeanne d'Arc: Of course! Grill it, simmer it—I'm sure it's delicious any way you cook it!

Local Woman: Much appreciated! I'll bring over something to your place later as thanks.

Local Man: Hm? Jeanne, is it? Whatcha doin' at a place like this?

Jeanne d'Arc: Hello, mister. Would you like some fish?

Elderly Woman: Thank you so much, Jeanne sweetie.
Oh, isn't it almost time for training?

Jeanne d'Arc: Ah, you're right! Just a few more minutes.

Elderly Woman: You know, I was quite the fighter myself back in the day. Well, be careful and watch yourself out there.

Jeanne d'Arc: I will! Thank you! And off I go!

Jeanne d'Arc: (Preparing for the inevitable crisis to come while enjoying the present peace—that was life in Orleans.)

Commander: Next pair, you're up!

Jeanne d'Arc: No holding back!

Orleans Youth: Ready for ya, Jeanne! Come at me!

Jeanne d'Arc: Hngh! Hyaah!

Orleans Youth: Heh... Is that all you've got? Graargh!

Jeanne d'Arc: Rgh!

Commander: That's enough!

Jeanne d'Arc: (I used to receive the highest praise for my form, but it mattered little as I would always lose in the sparring matches.)

Orleans Youth: You okay, Jeanne? I hit you pretty hard in the ribs...

Jeanne d'Arc: I-I'm fine... I just a lack a bit of experience. Sorry if I worried you.

Commander: That's not it, Jeanne... Inexperience with the sword is not truly the issue here.

Jeanne d'Arc: But, Commander...

Commander: I can sense the hesitation in your blade every time you go up against someone—it's as if you don't want to hurt them.

Jeanne d'Arc: You're right...

Jeanne d'Arc: I never hesitate when it comes to practicing sword forms or shooting targets with a bow and arrow.

Jeanne d'Arc: But...

Commander: Jeanne, the hesitation you show is your kindness. Never feel ashamed for that.

Jeanne d'Arc: My... kindness?

Commander: Yes. Orleans is allowed to subsist precisely because we have kind people like you to support those of us focused entirely on fighting.

Commander: I'm just saying you don't need to be so hard on yourself. There's more than one way to live a life, after all.

Jeanne d'Arc: Right...

Jeanne d'Arc: (Truth is... I preferred sewing and taking care of the sheep over fighting...)

Jeanne d'Arc: (I was taught that even such tasks can be a wonderful way to help people.)

Jeanne d'Arc: (But something just never seemed right to me... I prayed that night.)

Jeanne d'Arc: Please... Please show me the one true path I should follow.

Jeanne d'Arc: What direction shall I take my life if I am to live for the people... and do everything within my power to help them?

Jeanne d'Arc: Won't you please tell me?

???: Save the world.

Jeanne d'Arc: Huh?

Jeanne d'Arc: Save... the world? Me?

Jeanne d'Arc: (The voice in my head seemed so majestic and divine—I could not doubt it.)

Jeanne d'Arc: Save the world... How? And from what? Am I truly capable of such a thing?

Jeanne d'Arc: One thing's for sure...

Jeanne d'Arc: If I am to save the world by my own hand, I cannot put the sword down!

Jeanne d'Arc: I'll do what I can! To save the world... and the people in it!

Jeanne d'Arc: (And that is when I cleared my mind of any doubt and found the resolve to take up the sword for good.)

Jeanne d'Arc: ...
A dream, huh?

Jeanne d'Arc: ...

In the stillness of the crisp morning air, Jeanne offers a prayer then reaches out for her sword.

Jeanne grips the handle of the sword with clear determination—just as she had done the day she received the revelation.

Jeanne d'Arc: Your true identity remains a mystery to me, oh great one. But I will promise you this...

Jeanne d'Arc: I will save the world... along with all the people in it!

The unshakeable resolve in her voice becomes one with the quiet morning air and fades away.

But within her an indomitable steadfastness continues to burn brightly.

Days Worth Remembering

Sewing reminds Jeanne of the days of yore when she was but a young village girl. She thinks back on the time she stood up against a pack of wolves attacking the village sheep.

---

Having completed an assignment for Sierokarte, (Captain) and company return to the Grandcypher for the evening.

The worn-out crew decides to call it an early night.

Jeanne d'Arc: Hm, fatigue should never be left for the next day.

Vyrn: Whew, I'm beat too. (Captain), let's go back to our room!

Jeanne d'Arc: Hm? Wait, (Captain). Look, over there...

When Jeanne points at the captain's clothing, (Captain) looks down to find a tear.

Jeanne d'Arc: It must have gotten stuck somewhere. If you'll hand it to me after changing into your pajamas, I'll gladly mend it for you.

Vyrn: Wow, I didn't know you were good at sewing too, Jeanne!

Jeanne d'Arc: Well, I wouldn't consider myself good at it. But I practiced all manner of handicrafts back in Orleans, so repairing a small tear like this would be quite simple.

Jeanne d'Arc: Okay then... Best get changed and get some rest in the while the night is still early, (Captain).

(Captain) happily complies, changing into nightwear and handing Jeanne the piece of clothing.

Jeanne d'Arc: I think I left my sewing kit here...

Jeanne d'Arc: Ah, found it!

Jeanne d'Arc: Let's see the backside here... Haha, it's been so long since I've done this.

A blissful smile crosses Jeanne's face as she begins mending (Captain)'s clothing.

Jeanne d'Arc: ...

The knitting session brought back many precious memories for Jeanne.

Jeanne d'Arc: Laa-dee-do... Okay! Daddy's pants are all good now!

Jeanne d'Arc: Next is my shirt... Mm, I guess I might as well add some embroidery here while I'm at it.

Jeanne d'Arc: ...

Jeanne d'Arc: Oh! I can't believe it's so late already! I need to get the sheep back to their hut!

As Jeanne realizes the time and starts putting away the clothing and her sewing kit, someone knocks frantically on the door.

Village Boy: Jeanne! Trouble's afoot!

Jeanne d'Arc: Hm? What's the matter all of a sudden?

Village Boy: It's wolves! They've come to where we left the sheep out!

Jeanne d'Arc: Oh no! Okay, I'm coming with you!

With sword in hand, Jeanne follows the boy toward the farm.

She arrives to find the youths of the village in a frenzy trying to fight off the wolves.

Jeanne d'Arc: Sorry I'm late! I'll help fight too!

Though the young Jeanne's skill with a sword is evident in the way she handles the wolves, she appears to have trouble fighting people. This all changes, however, after receiving her revelation, and Jeanne is ready to show it in a local sparring match.

---

Gentle Young Man: All right! We fought them all off and no one was injured!

Orleans Youth: Whew! I've gotta say, Jeanne was incredible back there!

Jeanne d'Arc: Nah, not really. Teamwork was what got us through that. Let's not forget I came late too.

Orleans Youth: Heh, no need to be bashful now! It's just a shame you never go all-out like that during the sparring matches.

Jeanne d'Arc: ...

Gentle Young Man: Aww, give her a break, will you? Now's the time to rejoice!

Orleans Youth: Sorry... Hey, forget about what I just said, Jeanne.

Jeanne d'Arc: No, I'm the one who should apologize for making you worry in the first place.

Jeanne d'Arc: Heh...

Jeanne d'Arc: (Putting up with me back then—before the revelation came to me—couldn't have been easy for everyone.)

Jeanne d'Arc: (But in a way, it was precisely everyone's concern for me that prevented me from realizing my true potential—and it troubled me all the same.)

Jeanne d'Arc: (What kind of person would I have become had I not been bestowed the revelation?)

Jeanne d'Arc: Regardless, it matters little now.

Jeanne continues mending (Captain)'s outfit while thinking back on the events following her acceptance of the revelation.

Jeanne d'Arc: ...

Commander: Hmm... Did something happen, Jeanne? It appears as if any doubt you had has disappeared from your eyes.

Jeanne d'Arc: Yes. I've found my path in life.

Commander: Oh? Care to demonstrate your newfound resolve with some swordplay?

Jeanne d'Arc: Gladly!

Orleans Youth: Hm... So you fight differently now? Heh, always glad to take you on, Jeanne!

Jeanne d'Arc: Likewise.

Jeanne d'Arc: ...

Jeanne d'Arc: (Oh, great one. Thank you for the revelation. Now please see for yourself my conviction!)

Arrayed in resplendent armor, Jeanne proudly takes up her sword and stands up to the challenge.

Jeanne d'Arc: En garde!

Days Worth Remembering: Scene 3

After besting the young man, Jeanne explains to her commanding officer how she finds meaning in life. Back in reality, the present-day Jeanne feels a tinge of sadness at how things have changed so much since then, but she is also aware that these precious memories are precisely what will help her forge the path to a brighter future.

---

Orleans Youth: Ugh! You've got me beat!

Commander: The match is over! It's a victory for Jeanne!

Jeanne d'Arc: ...

Gentle Young Man: Phew! That was amazing, Jeanne. You're like a totally different person!

Orleans Youth: Aaahahaha! You said it! Jeanne won this one fair and square!

Commander: Hmm... Jeanne. Will you tell me more about this path you've chosen to walk?

Jeanne d'Arc: Certainly. A great being has bestowed upon me a revelation.

Jeanne d'Arc: A revelation to save the world!

Jeanne d'Arc: Ouch!

Jeanne d'Arc: Looks like I just pricked my finger... Did I get any blood on (Captain)'s clothing? Hm, looks clean to me.

The acute pain in Jeanne's finger brings her back to reality.

Jeanne d'Arc: My mind would always wander when I sewed back then, and this kind of thing never happened. I guess I've simply gotten a bit rusty.

Jeanne d'Arc: ...

Jeanne d'Arc: Until I save the world, there's definitely no going back to the simple village girl I used to be...

Jeanne finishes mending (Captain)'s outfit and stashes away her sewing kit.

Jeanne d'Arc—a maiden whose immeasurable kindness compels her to prioritize saving the world above all else...

Yet it is the memories she holds so dear that keep her strong as she pushes forward.
