A Most Honorable Spirit
The Jewel Resort's famous duelist Ladiva punishes an imperial soldier for accusing the casino of rigging its matches. But she knows the soldier will bear a grudge and therefore decides to leave the casino with (Captain)'s crew.
(Captain) and crew visit the Jewel Resort Casino Liner for some rest and relaxation.
Some popular duelists are scheduled to fight in the arena, so the place is crowded with people.
Lyria: Oh no... Can you please let me through?
Vyrn: Are you okay, Lyria? It's hard to move when there are so many people.
Lyria: I'm feeling a little dizzy...
Vyrn: Hang in there, Lyria! Is the crowd making you light-headed?
As Lyria starts to teeter, someone approaches.
???: ...
Vyrn: What? You want something with us?
???: Are you okay? You don't look so good. There are too many people, right?
???: It would be good to take a short rest somewhere quiet. Hold on to me, okay?
Lyria: Uh... Thank you.
???: You there! You're friends with this girl, right? Would you come here a moment?
Vyrn: Hey! Hold on just a minute! What's your deal?
The giant leads (Captain) and crew to a quiet corner where they can rest.
Lyria: Thank you! I feel much better now! Um...
Ladiva: Oh, I haven't told you my name yet. I'm Ladiva.
Ladiva: And you don't need to thank me! If you have love in your heart, there's no way you can just abandon someone in need.
Ladiva: The world is made of love!
Ladiva: And my mission is to remind all the unfortunate people who have forgotten this just how powerful love is!
Vyrn: Um... What?
Ladiva: You heard me! Love!
Lyria: Love, huh? I think I see. What you really mean is that you're a super nice person!
Ladiva: Ha-ha... You're embarrassing me! Ah... I've just realized I don't know any of your names.
Lyria: I'm Lyria, and these two are (Captain) and Vyrn.
Ladiva: Pleased to meet you Lyria. Is this your first time coming to see a duel?
Vyrn: No... We've seen one before, but there were nowhere near this many people...
Ladiva: Really? I suppose it's because there are several famous duelists competing in the arena today.
Ladiva: So their fans are here, which means more people than usual. How lucky we are to run such a popular place.
Lyria: Huh? Do you work here?
Ladiva: I do. I've been working at the arena for a long time, and I just love this place!
Ladiva: Anyway... it's been fun, but duty calls! I hope you enjoy your time at the Jewel Resort!
Lyria: Okay! Keep up the good work, Ladiva!
Ladiva: Thanks! I can really feel your love, Lyria!
Vyrn: Hmm... She was a little odd, but seemed nice enough.
Lyria: Yeah! What a nice person! Let's rest a while longer and then go explore. Sorry for making you wait, (Captain).
Vyrn: No need to worry about that. Right, (Captain)?
After resting a little longer, (Captain) and company decide to go check out some duels in the arena.
Vyrn: Hey! I found some free seats over here!
Lyria: I'm glad we can sit down. Oh! Looks like we made it just in time, (Captain)! The next duel is about to start.
Announcer: Thank you for waiting, ladies and gentlemen! Our next duelist needs no introduction... It's the hulking beauty Ladiva!
Ladiva: Hello, everyone! There sure are a lot of you here today! I can really feel the love!
Ladiva: Ha-ha! I'll try not to disappoint you!
Lyria: What? Ladiva's a duelist?
Vyrn: Well... she did say she works here, but I didn't expect this!
Duelist: Damn... Considering how ridiculous you look, how can you be so intimidating?
Ladiva: Hee-hee... Sorry, little one, but I don't think you're quite strong enough to beat me. Take this!
Duelist: Whoa!
Commentator: Oh! Ladiva lifts her unlucky opponent like nothing... and now he's on her shoulders. This is it, everyone!
Duelist: Nooo!
Commentator: Boom! It's the Ladiva Backbreaker! And it almost breaks my heart to see this, folks!
Ladiva: What's this? But isn't it a little early to go to bed? We're not even at the climax yet!
Every time Ladiva pulls off a move, a cheer rocks the arena.
Commentator: And there's the big finish! Ladiva is our winner!
Ladiva: Tough love administered! Did you feel it?
Ladiva bellows with victory as she wins the match.
Christina: I'd expect nothing less from you, Ladiva. You put on a great show.
Ladiva: Christy! You came all this way just to see me? Thank you!
Christina: Heh... Well, as the Jewel Resort's manager, I need to check on things now and then, right?
Ladiva: So you doubted my performance? How very rude!
Christina: You know... Only you would dare to talk to me like that!
Ladiva: Be honest. You just wanted to see my sickening performance... Oh! Hello again, Lyria!
Lyria: Great job, Ladiva! We saw your match!
Ladiva: Really? Thank you so much! I'm sure I only won today because I could feel the love from you and your friends!
Ladiva: The more love I feel from the audience, the stronger I become!
Vyrn: Anyway... you seem really strong! I was pretty impressed.
Ladiva: Hee-hee... Thanks, Vyrn! Come cheer me on next time too, okay?
Imperial Soldier: Don't you ever shut up? I'm sick of hearing your voice!
Ladiva: And what's got you so grumpy? Oh, I know! You need some more love!
Ladiva: Come on over here! Let me give you a big hug!
Imperial Soldier: You trying to mess with me? You're getting on my nerves! And I'm tired of the girly way you talk!
Imperial Soldier: How did someone like you ever manage to win?
Christina: You should be ashamed of yourself. Getting all nasty just because you lost a bet.
Imperial Soldier: Shut up! The matches here are obviously rigged! They've got to be! 'Cause this isn't right!
Christina: You're kidding, right? I won't put up with anyone slandering the Jewel Resort!
Ladiva: Hey there! Calm down, Christy. No need to get violent!
Ladiva: You too, soldier. I know you're annoyed because you lost a bet, but you can't act like this.
Ladiva: Let's just make up now before anyone ends up embarrassed, okay?
Imperial Soldier: That's bull! I won't accept that!
Lyria: Aaah! He's drawn his sword!
Ladiva: How dare you bring violence to our fun little paradise!
Ladiva: You leave me no choice but to punish you, little one.
Imperial Soldier: Take this!
Ladiva: Whoops! Nice try! Now let's see how you do with this!
Ladiva gracefully dodges the soldier's attack and then delivers a brutal counter.
Imperial Soldier: Oof!
Ladiva: Tough love administered! Did you feel it?
Imperial Soldier: I won't forget this! Don't think you can mess with soldiers of the empire and get away with it!
Christina: He's run off!
Lyria: Are you okay, Ladiva? You're not hurt, are you?
Ladiva: Thanks, Lyria, but I'm fine! As you can plainly see!
Ladiva: But it's a shame that soldier didn't understand where I was coming from. Now things are a little messed up.
Vyrn: What do you mean? You drove him off easily enough!
Ladiva: I've heard that that soldier might be an important person in the Erste Empire. If that's true, then I'm going to be on the wanted list for sure!
Lyria: But that's not fair! You didn't do anything! He's the one who lost a bet and came after you!
Ladiva: Not everything in this world is fair you know. But I suppose that's just how it goes when people don't have enough love.
Christina: You're our star duelist. I would never let you go no matter what the empire thinks!
Ladiva: Thank you, Christy. I'm really happy to hear you say that.
Ladiva: But the empire's watchful eye extends to every part of the Phantagrande Skydom. And if they were to come here...
Ladiva: I love the Jewel Resort. And I don't want any harm to come to it.
Ladiva: So even though I haven't done anything wrong, I'm going to go someplace else for a while. Just until things cool down a bit.
Lyria: But... Ladiva...
- In that case, you should come with us!
- Why don't you punish the empire instead?
Choose: In that case, you should come with us!Ladiva: Oh, (Captain)... you're really a good kid.
Ladiva: But if I were to go with you, the Erste Empire would be after you for sure.
Ladiva: I don't want to cause you guys any trouble either.
Choose: Why don't you punish the empire instead?Christina: Ha-ha! What courage! And I do so like the brave ones...
Ladiva: Cut it out, Christy! If you're this hot-blooded, maybe you need a little more of my love.
Ladiva: (Captain), you shouldn't do anything to put yourself at risk either! Though I can't help but like your youthful eagerness.
Continue 1Vyrn: Listen up, Ladiva! We're actually already being chased by the empire!
Ladiva: What? But why would they chase mere children?
Lyria: Um... It's a bit of a long story.
(Captain) and company explain why they're being pursued.
Ladiva: Unbelievable! Lyria, you've really gone through a lot. And this is just what I've come to expect from heartless people like that!
Ladiva: But you, (Captain)... Laying down your life for a girl you don't even know... Now that really is love!
Ladiva: I'm truly impressed! And how could I ever turn my back on an embodiment of love like this?
Lyria: Do you mean what I think you do?
Ladiva: Yep! I'd really like to join you on your journey! I know I don't look like much, but I think I might be able to help!
Vyrn: Um... You look like quite a bit to me...
Ladiva: I can cook, clean, iron, and do all sorts of chores. They're specialties of mine!
Vyrn: If those are your specialties, what's fighting to you?
Christina: I'll talk to some people and try and fix things so you can come back as soon as possible, Ladiva.
Ladiva: Thank you, Christy. You're really a wonderful manager, and I know I can rely on you.
Ladiva: Okay! Let's go, (Captain)! From today onwards, I'm your cook!
Lyria: Yay! I can't wait! How about you, (Captain)?
Thus the Jewel Resort's famed duelist Ladiva joins (Captain)'s crew.
The kind warrior will provide whatever support her new friends need.
All in the Name of Love
Ladiva is worried that her feud with the soldier might cause trouble for the orphanage where she grew up, so she agrees to Lyria and Vyrn's suggestion to go check things out.
Some time has passed since Ladiva, the star duelist, joined the crew.
One sunny day, she's standing on the deck of the Grandcypher alone.
Ladiva: ...
Lyria: Huh? Ladiva, what are you doing over there?
Ladiva: Oh! Hi, Lyria. It's nothing. I'm just standing here staring at the sky.
Vyrn: Don't give us that! You looked pretty serious just now!
Lyria: That's right! You know you can tell us if something is troubling you.
Ladiva: Ha-ha... I know. You guys are just so full of love and understanding.
Ladiva: And if I keep this from you, it would be like I don't believe in your love!
Ladiva: It's a bit of a long story, but please hear me out.
Lyria: Sure!
Ladiva: I lost my parents when I was very young, so I grew up in an orphanage.
Ladiva: My teacher there was like a mother to me, and the other kids were like brothers and sisters.
Vyrn: I see...
Ladiva: I didn't want any of them to worry about money, so I became a duelist at the Jewel Resort.
Ladiva: I really did enjoy that job though!
Ladiva: But you know how I got into some trouble with an imperial soldier, right?
Ladiva: Ever since then, I've been worried about whether the orphanage has gotten into any trouble because of me.
Lyria: I see... So that's what's troubling you.
Ladiva: Yeah... But I know standing around isn't going to help anyone!
Ladiva: Sigh... I'm just so worried...
Vyrn: I have an idea! Why don't we just go and see for ourselves?
Vyrn: Then we'll know for sure whether they're okay!
Lyria: Yeah! And I'm sure the people at the orphanage will be happy to see you!
Ladiva: You know what? You two are right! Let's go see what's going on!
Ladiva: It's not like me to just sit around and brood about things like this. Thanks for reminding me, you guys!
Ladiva: Wait for me, everyone! I'm coming to see you!
All in the Name of Love: Scene 2
Ladiva grows teary-eyed when she experiences her old teacher's love and trust again. The soldier from the casino shows up and takes a girl hostage to draw Ladiva out, so the furious warrior decides to beat some love into the villain.
(Captain) and company arrive at the orphanage in Ladiva's hometown.
Ladiva: Hey, everyone! It's me, Ladiva! I'm back!
Energetic Boy: Oh! Ladiva! Welcome back!
Gentle Girl: It's really you! Yay! Ladiva! I'm so glad you're back!
Ladiva: I'm happy to see all of you too. How have you been?
Energetic Boy: Ha-ha! We're just fine! Now let's go play in the forest!
Gentle Girl: What? No way! I'm going to show Ladiva how much better my knitting is now!
Ladiva: There's no need to fight! I'll spend some time with all of you later! So be good little boys and girls and wait a while, okay?
Energetic Boy: Oh... okay. But don't forget your promise!
Gentle Girl: Sorry, Ladiva... I'll wait.
Ladiva: I knew you'd understand! I'll go say hi to the teacher first.
Energetic Boy: Okay! I'll wait here!
Lyria: Ha-ha... You're so popular, Ladiva!
Ladiva: Can't you just feel the love in the air around here? This place made me who I am, and I'm really proud of it.
Orphanage Matron: Hello, Ladiva. And I'd like to welcome your friends as well. I'm happy to see you.
Ladiva: I actually came here because there's something I need to talk to you about...
Ladiva: The thing is... well... I got into a quarrel with an imperial soldier.
Ladiva: So I'm afraid people from the empire might come here and cause trouble for all of you.
Ladiva: If that happens, I want you to tell them you have nothing to do with me.
Orphanage Matron: ...
Ladiva: Are you upset? Of course you are... I—
Orphanage Matron: Thank you for worrying about us, Ladiva. I can feel your love.
Orphanage Matron: But know this... You're one of my beloved children. I could never say that I have nothing to do with you.
Orphanage Matron: I'm sorry for making you worry, but I trust that whatever you did was for good reasons.
Ladiva: ...!
Orphanage Matron: So just walk your path and don't worry about us. Okay?
Ladiva: Sob... Hee-hee... I just can't win with you, can I?
As Ladiva tries to hold back her tears, some children rush into the room.
Energetic Boy: Help! There's an imperial soldier here!
Quiet Boy: Um... He's looking for Ladiva, and he's really scary!
Ladiva: What? Oh no... This is exactly what I was afraid of.
Orphanage Matron: I'll go speak to him. Ladiva, take your friends and run away while I keep him distracted.
Ladiva: Yeah... I'll only cause more trouble by being here. I'm so sorry about this.
But as Ladiva leads (Captain) and company toward the back exit, there's a scream from the front of the orphanage.
Gentle Girl: Aahh! What are you doing? Let her go!
Crying Girl: Teacher! Ladiva! Help me!
Imperial Soldier: Shut up, brat! You're going to be my hostage until that giant comes out.
Imperial Soldier: Seeing you all so happy makes me sick!
Ladiva: What a monster! Is he seriously using one of my little sisters as bait just to get to me?
Ladiva: Unforgivable... Such a heartless act won't go unpunished!
Vyrn: Now I'm really mad! Let's go, (Captain)!
Ladiva: You! Let go of my beloved sister right now!
Crying Girl: I'm scared... Help me, Ladiva...
Imperial Soldier: There you are! It's about damn time!
Ladiva: You! You're a soldier, aren't you? Aren't you supposed to protect people?
Ladiva: How could you point your sword at a child? You should be ashamed of yourself! Isn't there any love in your heart?
Imperial Soldier: Shut up! Because of you... my superiors punished me for causing the disturbance at the casino.
Imperial Soldier: They're going to discharge me... and after all of my hard work!
Vyrn: So? That's your own fault! Don't try to blame it on Ladiva!
Imperial Soldier: You... This is all your fault, duelist!
Ladiva: He's too mad to even hear us... We need to stop him before he hurts the children!
Ladiva: But don't worry, soldier. When I'm done with you, you won't remember any of those overwhelming emotions you're feeling!
All in the Name of Love: Scene 3
Ladiva asks the distressed soldier about his past and empathizes with him over his struggles. When the teacher then offers the young man work at the orphanage, he can't help but be impressed by their kindness.
Crying Girl: Waahh! I was so scared, Ladiva!
Ladiva: There, there... I'm so sorry you had to go through that, but everything's okay now.
Imperial Soldier: Ugh... I... I work so hard, but...
Lyria: You're still going on about that?
Ladiva: Poor thing.
Imperial Soldier: Huh?
Ladiva: You apparently don't have enough love in your life. That's why you're unhappy and taking it out on others.
Ladiva: Why are you in so much pain? Why don't you tell me? I'm willing to listen if you're willing to talk.
Imperial Soldier: Well... I... Ugh.... Fine! I'll tell you!
Imperial Soldier: I lost my parents when I was a kid, and an orphanage took me in.
Imperial Soldier: But that orphanage had no money. We were put to work every day and barely had enough to eat.
Imperial Soldier: I joined the military thinking I could make a difference... but they all just made fun of me for being an orphan.
Ladiva: I see... That must have been hard.
Imperial Soldier: Deep down inside, I know this isn't going to change anything...
Imperial Soldier: But why do bad things always happen to me? Sometimes it just hurts to see everyone looking so happy...
Ladiva: It's okay. It'll be all right... Come here and cry in my arms.
Imperial Soldier: I... I'm sorry... I'm so...
Orphanage Matron: ...
Ladiva: Hey, teacher... About this man...
Imperial Soldier: So you're the teacher here... I...
Orphanage Matron: Young man... It seems like the strength of a soldier isn't what will truly make you happy.
Orphanage Matron: So when you get discharged from the military, come and see me. We could really use someone like you.
Imperial Soldier: Do you mean that? But... I did such horrible things... Why are you being so kind?
Ladiva: The answer's obvious...
Ladiva: Love!
Thus the imperial soldier that caused a disturbance at the Jewel Resort is reformed thanks to Ladiva's love.
With the orphanage's safety secured, Ladiva returns to the skies without reservations.
Lyria: Ha-ha... The teacher there is so kind. I can see why you think of her as your mother!
Ladiva: Right? She's the one who made me who I am.
Ladiva: Now it's my turn to spread this great love that she gave me to everyone else!
Ladiva: Not just in the skydoms, but to Estalucia too!
Ladiva: It's love time!
Ladiva shares the boundless affection in her heart with everyone.
There are surely many more people who will be saved by her love as (Captain)'s journey continues.
It's What's Inside That Counts
Cagliostro, who happens to be in the neighborhood, listens to Ladiva's plight with the kidnapped children. Cagliostro lures out one of the kidnappers and uses him to lead her right to their hideout. After she and Ladiva rescue the children, the two realize they are alike in more ways than one.
Ladiva: ...
Ladiva: ...
Ladiva: Aww... I just can't seem to find those darn culprits.
Ladiva has accepted a request to track down kidnapped children and the scoundrels that abducted them.
Ladiva was once a famed duelist who fought in the arena aboard the Jewel Resort Casino.
After a quarrel with the empire, she knew she would be a wanted fugitive and didn't want to burden her employer with the potential trouble her prolonged presence could cause.
So it was an easy decision for her when she chose to leave the ring and join (Captain)'s crew.
But the reason she volunteered to find the kidnappers has more to do with another part of her past.
She had the unfortunate experience of watching the empire steal away her sisters from her orphanage. So now she is determined to prevent other children from suffering.
However, with no clues as to the whereabouts of the kidnappers, Ladiva finds herself stumped.
Ladiva: Who knew it would be this hard to sniff out clues...
Ladiva: But I won't give up! I'll find you, children!
Cagliostro: Well, well... Look what the cat dragged
in—it's Ladiva! What are you doing in a place like this?
Ladiva: Oh, if it isn't Cagliostro. You're looking as radiant as ever.
Ladiva: But, you know, you don't have to hide your true self from me. I like you even without all that makeup.
Cagliostro: I'm not hiding anything from you. This is precisely how the world's cutest girl acts.
Cagliostro: But never mind that. What are you doing here? Doesn't seem like you're just out for a walk.
Ladiva: Me? Oh, I'm looking for whoever's responsible for the kidnappings. There's been a lot of them in this area lately.
Cagliostro: Ah... Now that you mention it, I believe I heard something similar a little while back.
Ladiva: Do you have any helpful information? Even the smallest bit helps. I won't be able to track them down on my own.
Cagliostro: Sorry. Hate to break it to you, but I only heard about it in passing really.
Ladiva: Sigh... That's too bad.
Seeing Ladiva bow her head in defeat, Cagliostro grows somewhat concerned.
Cagliostro: You said you were a duelist before, right? Sounds like this kind of job's not up your alley.
Cagliostro: So why are you so desperate? Was it somebody you knew that got kidnapped?
Ladiva recounts her tribulations with the empire to Cagliostro.
Ladiva: When I imagine how those children must be feeling, I just know I have to do something!
Ladiva: I won't let anyone else steal the love and happiness shared between family and child!
Cagliostro: I get it. How very like you.
Cagliostro: You know what, if it's captured children you're looking to help, then I,
Cagliostro—the world's most super adorable girl—am going to lend you a hand!
Ladiva: What a terrible joke. What if the kidnappers take you too?
Cagliostro: Hehe. They're welcome to try. In fact that would make quick work of this little job.
Cagliostro: But it's probably best to not get your hopes up for things like—
Young Man: Hey. You there, girl.
Cagliostro: Oh? Are you talking to me, Cagliostro?
Young Man: Yeah. Hehe. Cagliostro's a cute name.
Young Man: Oh! Totally unrelated question! Do you like candy? I was just about to hand some out. Wanna come with?
Ladiva: (Come to think of it, I do recall hearing that kidnappers like to lure children with candy.)
Ladiva: (Could this person be the culprit?)
Ladiva clenches her fist, ready to apprehend the potential criminal. But she hesitates.
Ladiva: (No. Calm down first. If you take this man on right now, you might not find out the location of the children.)
Ladiva: (Besides, what if his accomplices notice the commotion and make a run for it? I'd be right back at square one.)
The hulking duelist leans over and whispers in Cagliostro's ear.
Ladiva: Hey... Do you notice anything weird about this guy?
Cagliostro: Hehe! Course I did; don't make me laugh! But first I kind of want some proof that he's our guy.
Cagliostro: Guess this is where I do my thing. Look, I'll let him capture me. Then you follow us to their hideout.
Ladiva: You're going alone? That's dangerous!
Cagliostro: Hah! Who do you think I am? This is the fastest way.
Young Man: Um? Is this person your friend?
Cagliostro: Unh-uh! Just a regular old stranger.
Young Man: Right. Anyway, let's get going.
Cagliostro: Okay! This sounds like fun!
Ladiva: No, wait!
Cagliostro ignores Ladiva's call and leaves with the man, a sincere smile plastered on her face.
Cagliostro: Wow! Look at all the candy!
Young Man: Hah-hah! Well, go ahead! Pick out your favorite!
Cagliostro: Yay!
Cagliostro masks a quick glance around her surroundings behind an affected but gleeful expression.
Cagliostro: (Hah—I knew it all along. There are a bunch of brats here.)
Shuffling stealthily away from the man, Cagliostro makes her way toward a lone girl.
Cagliostro: Hey there! Isn't this place so much fun? I love all the candy.
Little Girl: Um... But I wanna go home. And he just tells me I can't. Why?
Cagliostro: (Well, that settles it. He's definitely the kidnapper. In that case, I don't have to hold back.)
Kidnapper 1: (Heh-heh. Collecting brats off the street just gets easier every day. So glad I got into this business.)
Kidnapper 1: (While this runt's acting good, I better...)
Cagliostro: Excuse me, mister. I've got a favor to ask...
Kidnapper 1: Oh? And what might that be?
Cagliostro: Leeet's see... How about you put your hands up and come quietly?
Kidnapper 1: Huh?
Cagliostro: Is this all of you?
Kidnapper 1: Damn it, you tricked me!
Cagliostro: You don't have the right to say that, pal. Because it's my line. So are there any other little brats running around?
Kidnapper 1: Tch... Like I'd tell you! Who do you think I am!
Cagliostro: Oh? Seems like you're the type that doesn't talk until you're met with a little painful persuasion.
Kidnapper 1: Damn it! Whatever you're going to do, just do it!
Cagliostro: Hehe. Excellent! Your wish is my command...
???: Aaaargh!
Kidnapper 1: Wh-who is that!
???: Get ready!
Kidnapper 2: Eek!
Cagliostro: Oh no... Don't tell me...
Ladiva: Hehe. Looks like I made it in time.
Kidnapper 1: Y-you're that one from before! Is this a setup?
Cagliostro: Sigh... Yep. It's you. Didn't I say I could handle this on my own?
Ladiva: Sorry about that. I tried to follow you as quietly as I could; I was worried.
Ladiva: Besides, this creep's friends were just about to get away. But I didn't let 'em. Now aren't you glad I came?
Cagliostro: Tch! So there were more. Bad guys like these nuts pop up like daisies, huh?
Ladiva: Now, let's get down to business. Where are the children you abducted?
Kidnapper 1: Tch!
Cagliostro: Seems like this one's not interested in separating those lips.
Cagliostro: Hehe. Well if that's the case, then I'll have to feed him a knuckle sandwich or two to—
Ladiva: Oh my goodness, no! You shouldn't act so violently!
Ladiva: If you hurt these men, no matter how much, they'll just repeat the same thing some day.
Cagliostro: Huh? So what do you suggest we do?
Ladiva: You just leave that to me!
Ladiva is mid-lecture about the undying nature of love, causing several of the kidnappers to tear up.
Kidnapper 2: I'm so sorry... Sob...
Kidnapper 1: Me too... We were wrong! We'll never take kids like that again!
Ladiva: Hehe. Glad to hear it.
Ladiva: I can see that you're nice people on the inside. After all, you listened very well when I was talking.
Ladiva: Surely you all remember being loved?
Ladiva: If you don't have someone like that in your life right now, well, then... I'll love you in their place!
Ladiva: So please stop these terrible acts. Promise me.
Kidnapper 1: Why... Why are you so kind to us?
The degree of bewilderment on their faces is matched only by the sheer amount of compassion displayed in Ladiva's expression.
Ladiva: You know the answer already...
Ladiva: Love!
Ladiva: Haha. That was a long day. And the children are already back with their parents.
Ladiva: Thanks to you, dear. If you weren't there, who knows how long it would've taken me to find them. Thank you.
Cagliostro: Hehe. Good thing I'm such a cute little lady, huh? They were jumping at the chance to kidnap me.
Cagliostro: But if you hadn't have lectured them, they never would've revealed the location of the children.
Ladiva: Hmm? What was that you just said?
Cagliostro: Nope, I didn't say anything.
Cagliostro: By the way... Do you ever feel like you want to be something else?
Ladiva: Well, this is coming out of nowhere.
Cagliostro: I can change a lot with my alchemy, you know—like a child into an adult. Or the masculine into the feminine.
Cagliostro: If you want, I could theoretically make that happen for you too.
Cagliostro: But it's just supposition. You don't have to—
Ladiva: Hehe. That sounds great. But I have to refuse.
Ladiva: Because my parents gave me this body. It's my treasure.
Ladiva gives Cagliostro a smile, who returns the expression without realizing it.
Cagliostro: Hehe... Hahaha! I get it! So that's the kind of person you are!
Ladiva: Oh my, I think this is my first time seeing you laugh in such a carefree manner.
Cagliostro: Haha. I guess. You've got me all confused. Not that I mind that much.
Their laughter echoes throughout the room.
Alike and yet unlike, unlike and yet alike, the pair forge a bond of friendship sure to last till the end of time.
