A Most Honorable Spirit
The Jewel Resort's famous duelist Ladiva punished the Imperial soldiers who had tried to fix the match. However, this punishment caused the Imperial soldiers to bear a grudge, and Ladiva prudently decided to leave the Jewel Resort for a while, and was invited to take refuge in (Captain)'s sky order.
(Captain)'s party went to the Jewel Resort casino liner for some rest and relaxation.
That day a popular duelist was due in the arena, and the casino ship was crowded with people.
Lyria: Wh-whoa! Gulp... m-move out of the way a sec!
Vyrn: Are you okay Lyria? It's hard to move when there's this many people...
Lyria: Haaa... I-I feel dizzy...
Vyrn: Ahh! Lyria? Did you get lost in the crowd?
Lyria became dizzy from the large number of people. As she staggered, a shadowy silhouette approached.
Vyrn: Wha-what?! What do you want?!
???: Are you ok? You don't look so good. There's too many people, right?
???: It would be good to take a short rest somewhere quiet. Make sure you hold on, ok?
Lyria: Uh... t-thank you.
???: Hey, you there! You're friends with this girl, right? Would you come here a moment?
Vyrn: H-hey! Hold on just a minute! What's your deal?!
Using the directions they received from the large man, (Captain) and companions found a quiet place to rest.
Lyria: Ha... thank you! I feel much better now! Umm...
Ladiva: Oh, I haven't told you my name yet. My name is Ladiva.
Ladiva: You don't need to thank me! If you have a heart, there's no way you can just abandon someone who needs help.
Ladiva: The world is made of love!
Ladiva: It's my duty to teach the sad people who forget that fact all about the power of love!
Vyrn: Uh... um... love?
Ladiva: You heard me! Ok!
Lyria: I see... love huh? Well I guess that's not surprising, since you're such a kind person!
Ladiva: Ahaha... You're embarrassing me! Ah... I've just realized I don't know any of your names...
Lyria: Ehehe... my name is Lyria. This is (Captain) and Vyrn.
Ladiva: Please to meet you Lyria. Is this your first time coming to see a duel?
Vyrn: No... I've seen one before, but there was nowhere near this many people...
Ladiva: Really? I suppose it's because today there's several famous duelists competing in the arena.
Ladiva: So their fans are here too, and there's more people than normal. They're lucky to have so many supporters.
Lyria: Huh? Ladiva, do you work here at the Jewel Resort?
Ladiva: Yes, I do. I've been working here for a long time. I love this place!
Ladiva: Ah... duty calls, I need to get back to work! Hehe, please go ahead and enjoy watching the duelists!
Lyria: Okay! Keep up the good work Ladiva!
Ladiva: Thanks! I can really feel your love Lyria!
Vyrn: Mmm... that person was a bit odd, but he seemed nice.
Lyria: Yeah! He was really nice! Let's rest a while longer, then go explore. Sorry for making you wait, (Captain).
Vyrn: Aw, don’t worry about it. Right, (Captain)?
After resting a little longer, (Captain) and companions decided to make the most of the opportunity and went to watch the duels in the arena.
Vyrn: Oi! These seats are free!
Lyria: Oh good... it'll be good to sit down. Ah! Looks like we made it just in time (Captain)! The next duel is about to start.
Announcer: Hello ladies and gentlemen! Thank you for waiting! Our next duelist is our beloved warrior... Our incredible hunk... Ladiiiva!
Ladiva: Hello everyone! Wow, there's a lot of you here today! I can really feel the love!
Ladiva: Ha ha ha ha! Make sure you watch my moves closely!
Lyria: Whaaat?! T-that's Ladiva?!
Vyrn: Wait... what?! He said he worked here... but he never said he was a duelist!
Duelist: Damnit! Why are you so annoying?!
Ladiva: Hehe... little one, if you're my opponent, I don't think you've got what it takes to beat me... Take this!
Commentator: Ooh! Ladiva! He's throwing his opponent around like he's as light as a feather! He's got him on his shoulder... and this is it!
Commentator: Ohhhhh!! And it's the Ladvia Backbreakeeeer!!! No one can stand up to that!
Ladiva: What's this?! Isn't it a little soon for you to go bye bye? We're not even at the best bit yet!!
Every time Ladiva pulled off another move, a huge cheer went up from the audience.
Commentator: Yay! Ladiva! This is it! Ladiva's greatest victory ever!
Ladiva: And I'm done! Ok!
Cheering his victory, Ladiva received his prize for the match.
Christina: Just as I'd expect from you Ladiva. You put on a pretty good show.
Ladiva: Ah! Christy! You came all this way just to see me? Thank you!
Christina: Heh... well, as the Jewel Resort's manager, I need to go check how things are going sometimes, right?
Ladiva: Oh no! You doubted my performance? How rude, hehe.
Christina: Hmph... only you would dare to talk to me like that!
Ladiva: Hmm? Me? Of course not Christy! I'm actually quite shy hehe... Hmm... Hey! Lyria!
Lyria: Hehe... great job, Ladiva! We watched your match!
Ladiva: Huh? Really?! Wow, thank you! I'm sure I only won today because I could feel the love from Lyria and you guys!
Ladiva: The more love I feel from the audience, the stronger I become!
Vyrn: Ummm... well I think you're really strong! I was really impressed.
Ladiva: Hehehe... thanks Vyrn! Come cheer me on next time too, ok?
Imperial Soldier: Gah! You're so annoying! Showing off like that!
Ladiva: Hmm? What's got you so grumpy? Ahh, I've got it! You need some more love!
Ladiva: Come on over here! Let me give you a huuuug!
Imperial Soldier: You trying to mess with me?! You're getting on my nerves! Think I'm weak do ya?!
Imperial Soldier: Tch!... Why on earth did a guy like this have to win?
Christina: You should be ashamed of yourself. Getting all nasty just because you lost a bet.
Imperial Soldier: Shut up! The matches here have gotta be fixed! They've got to be! Coz this isn't right!!
Christina: You're kidding, right? I'm won't put up with any slurs against the Jewel Resort!
Ladiva: Hey there! Calm down Christy. No need to get upset!
Ladiva: You too soldier. I know you're annoyed because you lost a bet, but you can't act like this.
Ladiva: C'mon, let's save face and make up now, before either of us gets embarrassed. Ok?
Imperial Soldier: That’s bull! I can't accept that, I won't!
Lyria: Ah! H-he's drawn his sword...!
Ladiva: Things are heating up in the Jewel Resort... this is gonna be interesting!
Ladiva: Well, I guess it can't be helped... time to mete out some punishment!
Imperial Soldier: Argh!
Ladiva: You underestimated me! Hah! Take that!
With a smooth action of his magnificent body, Ladiva dodged the Imperial soldier's attack, and attacked him in turn.
Imperial Soldier: Grrr!
Ladiva: And I'm done! Ok!
Imperial Soldier: We're not gonna forget this! Don't think you can mess with soldiers of the Empire and get away with it!
Christina: Gah! They've run off!
Lyria: H-hey! You alright?! Is anyone hurt?
Ladiva: Thanks Lyria, but I'm ok. It just stings a bit!
Ladiva: But... it's a shame that soldier couldn't understand what I meant... The whole situation got a little... difficult.
Vyrn: What happened? You really gave it to them didn't you!
Ladiva: I've heard rumors that that Imperial soldier might be an important person in the Erste Empire. If that's true, then I'm going to be on the wanted list for sure!
Lyria: But that's not fair! You didn't do anything! All that happened was that they lost a bet!
Ladiva: Not everything in this world is fair you know. Well, I suppose that's just how it goes when people don't have enough love.
Christina: You're our star duelist. I don't care what the Erste Empire thinks, I'm not gonna fire you!
Ladiva: Thank you Christy. I'm really happy to hear you say that.
Ladiva: But... the Erste Empire is powerful enough to reach even the Phantagrande Skydom. And if they were to come here...
Ladiva: I love the Jewel Resort. And I don't want any harm to come to it...
Ladiva: So though I haven't done anything wrong, I'm going to go someplace else for a while. Just until things cool down a bit.
Lyria: But... Ladiva...
Choose: In that case, you should come with us!
- In that case, you should come with us!
- Heh, try punishing the Empire next time.
Ladiva: Ah, (Captain)... you're good kids.
Ladiva: But if I were to go with you, the Erste Empire would be after us for sure.
Ladiva: I don't want to cause you guys any trouble either.Choose: Heh, try punishing the Empire next time.
Christina: Hahaha! What courage! But you like that, don't you?
Ladiva: Hey, stop with that Christy! Maybe they were hot headed because I didn't give them enough love...
Ladiva: (Captain), you shouldn't do anything to put yourself at risk either! Though I can't help but like your youthful eagerness.Continue 1
Vyrn: Hehe. Listen up Ladiva! We're already being chased by the Empire ya know!
Ladiva: ?! Why?! Chasing mere children?!
Lyria: Uh... well there are reasons...
(Captain) and companions explained to Ladiva why they were being pursued by the Erste Empire.
Ladiva: What...!? Wow, Lyria, you've really gone through a lot. Just as you'd expect from heartless people like that...
Ladiva: But you, (Captain)! Laying down your life for a girl you don't know, now that really is love!
Ladiva: You've really made an impression... if having this much love doesn't give you strength, I don't know what else will!
Lyria: What are you saying?
Ladiva: Well, I'd really like to join you on your journey! I could really be of help to you!
Vyrn: Uh... well... you don't really look...
Ladiva: Hehe... looks are deceiving. I can cook, clean, iron and do all sorts of chores. I'm amazing at everything I do!
Christina: I'll talk to people and try and fix things so you can come back as soon as possible, Ladiva.
Ladiva: Thank you Christy. You are a wonderful manager after all. I know I can rely on you.
Ladiva: Ok! Let’s go, (Captain)! From today onwards, I'm your cook!
Lyria: Yay! I can’t wait! Right, (Captain)?
And so, the Jewel Resort's famed duelist Ladiva joined (Captain)'s party.
The kind-hearted girl joined the order, devoting herself to taking care of them.
All in the Name of Love
Ladiva is concerned that his feud with the imperial soldier may drag his orphanage into some trouble. Following Lyria and Vyrn's suggestion, they decide to return to the place where Ladiva grew up.
Some time after Ladiva, the star duelist, joined the party...
On a sunny day, Ladiva lingered alone on the deck of Grandcypher.
Ladiva: ... Sigh...
Lyria: Huh? Ladiva, what are you doing over there?
Ladiva: O-Oh! Hi Lyria. It's nothing, I'm just sitting here staring at the sky.
Vyrn: Hey Ladiva! Don't give me that, you looked pretty serious just now!
Lyria: Exactly! Come on, Ladiva. You can tell us if something is troubling you.
Ladiva: Hehe... That's right, you guys are so full of love and understanding.
Ladiva: If I keep this from you, it would be like I don't believe in your love!
Ladiva: This might be a little long, but let me tell my tale.
Ladiva: I lost my parents when I was very young, and grew up in an orphanage.
Ladiva: My teacher there was like a mother to me, and the other kids were like brothers and sisters.
Vyrn: I see...
Ladiva: I didn't want us to worry about money, so I became a duelist at the Jewel Resort.
Ladiva: I really did enjoy that job though!
Ladiva: But... You know how I got into some trouble with an imperial soldier, right?
Ladiva: Ever since then... I've been worried about whether or not the orphanage got into trouble because of me.
Lyria: I see... So that's what's troubling you.
Ladiva: Sigh... Yeah... Oh! I shouldn't be such a downer.
Ladiva: Awwww...! But I'm so worried...
Vyrn: Hey, Ladiva! Why don't we go and see for ourselves?
Vyrn: Wha?! Then we'll know if they're okay for sure!
Lyria: Yeah! I'm sure the people at the orphanage will be happy to see you!
Ladiva: Vyrn... Lyria... You're right. Let's go find out!
Ladiva: It's not like me to just sit around and think about things like this. Thanks for reminding me, you guys!
Ladiva: Wait for me, everyone! I'm coming to see you!
All in the Name of Love: Scene 2
Feeling her teacher's love and trust again, Ladiva can't help but grow teary-eyed. Suddenly, the imperial soldier from the Jewel Resort appears and takes a girl from the orphanage as a hostage to draw out Ladiva. Ladiva steps out, burning with rage, determined to deal out some punishment for the imperial soldier and save his sister.
(Captain) and company arrive at the orphanage in Ladiva's hometown.
Ladiva: Hey everyone! It's me, Ladiva! I'm back!
Energetic Boy: Oh! Ladiva! Welcome back!
Gentle Girl: Hm? Really?! Yay! Ladiva! I'm so glad you're back!
Ladiva: Hehehe... I'm happy to see you all too. How have you been?
Energetic Boy: Haha! Good, good! Come on, let's go play in the forest!
Gentle Girl: What?! No! I'm gonna show Ladiva how much better my knitting is now!
Ladiva: Oh my, don't fight! I'll spend some time with all of you later! So be good little boys and girls and wait a little bit, okay?
Energetic Boy: Oh... okay. It's a promise!
Gentle Girl: Sorry Ladiva... I'll wait.
Ladiva: I knew you'd understand! I'll go say hi to the teacher first.
Energetic boy: Okay! I'll wait here!
Lyria: Hehe... You're so popular, Ladiva!
Ladiva: Hahaha, isn't it a lovely place? This place made me who I am, and I'm really proud of it.
Orphanage Caretaker: Hello Ladiva, everyone. Welcome. I'm happy to see you.
Ladiva: Teacher... I have something to tell you.
Ladiva: The thing is... Well... I got into a quarrel with an imperial soldier.
Ladiva: I'm afraid people from the empire might come here and cause trouble for all of you.
Ladiva: If that happens... I want you to tell them you have nothing to do with me.
Orphanage Caretaker: ...
Ladiva: Teacher, are you mad? Of course you are... I...
Orphanage Caretaker: Thank you, Ladiva. You must have been so worried about us. I can feel the love.
Orphanage Caretaker: But know this... You're one of my beloved children. I can't say that I have nothing to do with you.
Orphanage Caretaker: I'm sorry for making you worry. But I trust that whatever you did was for good reasons.
Orphanage Caretaker: So Ladiva, go on your path and don't worry about us. Okay?
Ladiva: Teacher... Uuu... *Sob*... Hehe, I can never win with you, teacher...
Children hurriedly enter and play around happily in the orphanage.
Energetic Boy: Aiieeeee! Everyone! Imperial soldiers are here!
Quiet Boy: U-Um... They're looking for Ladiva, and they look really scary...
Ladiva: What?! Oh no... This is what I was afraid of...
Orphanage Caretaker: I'll go speak to them. Ladiva, take your friends and run away while I keep them distracted.
Ladiva: Yeah... I'll only cause more trouble by being here... I'm sorry, teacher...
As Ladiva led (Captain) and company to escape from the back entrance, they hear a scream.
Gentle Girl: Aaahhhh!! W-What are you doing?! Let her go!
Crying Girl: Waaaaahhh! Teacher! Big brother, sister! Ladiva, heeeelp!!
Imperial Soldier: Shut up, kid! You're gonna be my hostage until that tomboy comes out!
Imperial Soldier: Hmph... It makes me sick to watch you all acting so happy!
Ladiva: How could he?! He's using my sisters as bait to get to me...?!
Ladiva: Unforgivable... Such a heartless act won't go unpunished!!
Vyrn: I'm mad now! Let's go, (Captain)!
Ladiva: You! Let go of my beloved sister right now!
Crying Girl: *Sob*... Hg... I-I'm scared... Help me, Ladiva...
Imperial Soldier: There you are! It's about damn time!
Ladiva: You...! You're a soldier, aren't you? Isn't it your job to protect people?!
Ladiva: How could you point your sword at a child? You should be ashamed of yourself!!
Imperial Soldier: Shut up! Because of you... The higher ups punished me for causing a disturbance at the Casino...
Imperial Soldier: They discharged me from the military... After all of my hard work!
Vyrn: Tsk! That's your own fault! Don't try to blame it on Ladiva!
Imperial Soldier: How dare you?! This is all your fault, duelist!!
Ladiva: He's too mad to even hear us... We need to stop him by force before he hurts the children!
Ladiva: Don't worry, all those overwhelming emotions you're feeling... I'll accept it all and blow them away!
All in the Name of Love: Scene 3
Seeing the imperial soldier in such distress, Ladiva asks about the man's past and learns of his struggles. The soldier is deeply moved by Ladiva and the teacher's kindness when the teacher, who saw the whole exchange, asks him to work at the orphanage.
Crying Girl: Waaaaahhh! I-I was so scared! Ladivaaa!
Ladiva: Oh, there there... It'll all be okay...
Imperial Soldier: Huff... Huff... Ugh... Why... Why do I always...
Lyria: You're still...!
Ladiva: Poor thing.
Imperial Soldier: Huh?
Ladiva: You don't have enough love in your life. That's why you're so unhappy, and taking it out on others.
Ladiva: Why are you in so much pain? Why don't you tell me.
Imperial Soldier: Well... I... Agh, fine! I'll tell you!
Imperial Soldier: Heh... I lost my parents when I was a kid, and an orphanage took me in.
Imperial Soldier: But that orphanage had no money... We were put to work every day and barely had enough to eat...
Imperial Soldier: I joined the military thinking I can make a change... But then they all just made fun of me for being an orphan...
Ladiva: I see... It must have been hard...
Imperial Soldier: Deep inside, I know... This isn't gonna change anything... But...!
Imperial Soldier: Why do bad things always happen to me...? Everyone here seems so happy and I...!
Ladiva: It's okay, it'll be all right... Come here and cry in my arms.
Imperial Soldier: I... I'm sorry... Uuuh...
Orphanage Caretaker: ...
Ladiva: Hey, teacher... About this man...
Imperial Soldier: You must be the teacher here. I...
Orphanage Caretaker: Young man... It seems like the strength of a soldier isn't what will truly make you happy.
Orphanage Caretaker: So, when you get discharged from the military... Come and see me. There will be a place for you here.
Imperial Soldier: You mean...? But... I did such horrible things... Why are you being so kind...?
Ladiva: The answer's obvious...
And so, the imperial soldier that caused a disturbance at Jewel Resort was reformed thanks to Ladiva's love.
With the orphanage's safety secured, Ladiva returned to the skies once again.
Lyria: Hehe... The teacher here is such a kind person. She's just how I expected your mother would be!
Ladiva: Right? She's the one that made me who I am.
Ladiva: It's my turn to spread this great love that she gave me to everyone else!
Ladiva: Not just in the skydoms, but to Estalucia, too!
Ladiva: Iiiit's looove!
With a boundless love in his heart, he shares it with the rest of the world.
There are surely many more people that will be saved by his love.
It's What's Inside That Counts
Cagliostro, who happens to be in the neighborhood, listens to Ladiva's plight with the kidnapped children. Cagliostro lures out one of the kidnappers and uses him to lead her right to their hideout. After she and Ladiva rescue the children, the two realize they are alike in more ways than one.
Ladiva: Aww... I just can't seem to find those darn culprits.
Ladiva has accepted a request to track down kidnapped children and the scoundrels that abducted them.
Ladiva was once a famed duelist who fought in the arena aboard the Jewel Resort Casino.
After a quarrel with the empire, she knew she would be a wanted fugitive and didn't want to burden her employer with the potential trouble her prolonged presence could cause.
So it was an easy decision for her when she chose to leave the ring and join (Captain)'s crew.
But the reason she volunteered to find the kidnappers has more to do with another part of her past.
She had the unfortunate experience of watching the empire steal away her sisters from her orphanage. So now she is determined to prevent other children from suffering.
However, with no clues as to the whereabouts of the kidnappers, Ladiva finds herself stumped.
Ladiva: Who knew it would be this hard to sniff out clues...
Ladiva: But I won't give up! I'll find you, children!
Cagliostro: Well, well... Look what the cat dragged
in—it's Ladiva! What are you doing in a place like this?
Ladiva: Oh, if it isn't Cagliostro. You're looking as radiant as ever.
Ladiva: But, you know, you don't have to hide your true self from me. I like you even without all that makeup.
Cagliostro: I'm not hiding anything from you. This is precisely how the world's cutest girl acts.
Cagliostro: But never mind that. What are you doing here? Doesn't seem like you're just out for a walk.
Ladiva: Me? Oh, I'm looking for whoever's responsible for the kidnappings. There's been a lot of them in this area lately.
Cagliostro: Ah... Now that you mention it, I believe I heard something similar a little while back.
Ladiva: Do you have any helpful information? Even the smallest bit helps. I won't be able to track them down on my own.
Cagliostro: Sorry. Hate to break it to you, but I only heard about it in passing really.
Ladiva: Sigh... That's too bad.
Seeing Ladiva bow her head in defeat, Cagliostro grows somewhat concerned.
Cagliostro: You said you were a duelist before, right? Sounds like this kind of job's not up your alley.
Cagliostro: So why are you so desperate? Was it somebody you knew that got kidnapped?
Ladiva recounts her tribulations with the empire to Cagliostro.
Ladiva: When I imagine how those children must be feeling, I just know I have to do something!
Ladiva: I won't let anyone else steal the love and happiness shared between family and child!
Cagliostro: I get it. How very like you.
Cagliostro: You know what, if it's captured children you're looking to help, then I,
Cagliostro—the world's most super adorable girl—am going to lend you a hand!
Ladiva: What a terrible joke. What if the kidnappers take you too?
Cagliostro: Hehe. They're welcome to try. In fact that would make quick work of this little job.
Cagliostro: But it's probably best to not get your hopes up for things like—
Young Man: Hey. You there, girl.
Cagliostro: Oh? Are you talking to me, Cagliostro?
Young Man: Yeah. Hehe. Cagliostro's a cute name.
Young Man: Oh! Totally unrelated question! Do you like candy? I was just about to hand some out. Wanna come with?
Ladiva: (Come to think of it, I do recall hearing that kidnappers like to lure children with candy.)
Ladiva: (Could this person be the culprit?)
Ladiva clenches her fist, ready to apprehend the potential criminal. But she hesitates.
Ladiva: (No. Calm down first. If you take this man on right now, you might not find out the location of the children.)
Ladiva: (Besides, what if his accomplices notice the commotion and make a run for it? I'd be right back at square one.)
The hulking duelist leans over and whispers in Cagliostro's ear.
Ladiva: Hey... Do you notice anything weird about this guy?
Cagliostro: Hehe! Course I did; don't make me laugh! But first I kind of want some proof that he's our guy.
Cagliostro: Guess this is where I do my thing. Look, I'll let him capture me. Then you follow us to their hideout.
Ladiva: You're going alone? That's dangerous!
Cagliostro: Hah! Who do you think I am? This is the fastest way.
Young Man: Um? Is this person your friend?
Cagliostro: Unh-uh! Just a regular old stranger.
Young Man: Right. Anyway, let's get going.
Cagliostro: Okay! This sounds like fun!
Ladiva: No, wait!
Cagliostro ignores Ladiva's call and leaves with the man, a sincere smile plastered on her face.
Cagliostro: Wow! Look at all the candy!
Young Man: Hah-hah! Well, go ahead! Pick out your favorite!
Cagliostro masks a quick glance around her surroundings behind an affected but gleeful expression.
Cagliostro: (Hah—I knew it all along. There are a bunch of brats here.)
Shuffling stealthily away from the man, Cagliostro makes her way toward a lone girl.
Cagliostro: Hey there! Isn't this place so much fun? I love all the candy.
Little Girl: Um... But I wanna go home. And he just tells me I can't. Why?
Cagliostro: (Well, that settles it. He's definitely the kidnapper. In that case, I don't have to hold back.)
Kidnapper 1: (Heh-heh. Collecting brats off the street just gets easier every day. So glad I got into this business.)
Kidnapper 1: (While this runt's acting good, I better...)
Cagliostro: Excuse me, mister. I've got a favor to ask...
Kidnapper 1: Oh? And what might that be?
Cagliostro: Leeet's see... How about you put your hands up and come quietly?
Kidnapper 1: Huh?
Cagliostro: Is this all of you?
Kidnapper 1: Damn it, you tricked me!
Cagliostro: You don't have the right to say that, pal. Because it's my line. So are there any other little brats running around?
Kidnapper 1: Tch... Like I'd tell you! Who do you think I am!
Cagliostro: Oh? Seems like you're the type that doesn't talk until you're met with a little painful persuasion.
Kidnapper 1: Damn it! Whatever you're going to do, just do it!
Cagliostro: Hehe. Excellent! Your wish is my command...
Kidnapper 1: Wh-who is that!
???: Get ready!
Kidnapper 2: Eek!
Cagliostro: Oh no... Don't tell me...
Ladiva: Hehe. Looks like I made it in time.
Kidnapper 1: Y-you're that one from before! Is this a setup?
Cagliostro: Sigh... Yep. It's you. Didn't I say I could handle this on my own?
Ladiva: Sorry about that. I tried to follow you as quietly as I could; I was worried.
Ladiva: Besides, this creep's friends were just about to get away. But I didn't let 'em. Now aren't you glad I came?
Cagliostro: Tch! So there were more. Bad guys like these nuts pop up like daisies, huh?
Ladiva: Now, let's get down to business. Where are the children you abducted?
Kidnapper 1: Tch!
Cagliostro: Seems like this one's not interested in separating those lips.
Cagliostro: Hehe. Well if that's the case, then I'll have to feed him a knuckle sandwich or two to—
Ladiva: Oh my goodness, no! You shouldn't act so violently!
Ladiva: If you hurt these men, no matter how much, they'll just repeat the same thing some day.
Cagliostro: Huh? So what do you suggest we do?
Ladiva: You just leave that to me!
Ladiva is mid-lecture about the undying nature of love, causing several of the kidnappers to tear up.
Kidnapper 2: I'm so sorry... Sob...
Kidnapper 1: Me too... We were wrong! We'll never take kids like that again!
Ladiva: Hehe. Glad to hear it.
Ladiva: I can see that you're nice people on the inside. After all, you listened very well when I was talking.
Ladiva: Surely you all remember being loved?
Ladiva: If you don't have someone like that in your life right now, well, then... I'll love you in their place!
Ladiva: So please stop these terrible acts. Promise me.
Kidnapper 1: Why... Why are you so kind to us?
The degree of bewilderment on their faces is matched only by the sheer amount of compassion displayed in Ladiva's expression.
Ladiva: You know the answer already...
Ladiva: Haha. That was a long day. And the children are already back with their parents.
Ladiva: Thanks to you, dear. If you weren't there, who knows how long it would've taken me to find them. Thank you.
Cagliostro: Hehe. Good thing I'm such a cute little lady, huh? They were jumping at the chance to kidnap me.
Cagliostro: But if you hadn't have lectured them, they never would've revealed the location of the children.
Ladiva: Hmm? What was that you just said?
Cagliostro: Nope, I didn't say anything.
Cagliostro: By the way... Do you ever feel like you want to be something else?
Ladiva: Well, this is coming out of nowhere.
Cagliostro: I can change a lot with my alchemy, you know—like a child into an adult. Or the masculine into the feminine.
Cagliostro: If you want, I could theoretically make that happen for you too.
Cagliostro: But it's just supposition. You don't have to—
Ladiva: Hehe. That sounds great. But I have to refuse.
Ladiva: Because my parents gave me this body. It's my treasure.
Ladiva gives Cagliostro a smile, who returns the expression without realizing it.
Cagliostro: Hehe... Hahaha! I get it! So that's the kind of person you are!
Ladiva: Oh my, I think this is my first time seeing you laugh in such a carefree manner.
Cagliostro: Haha. I guess. You've got me all confused. Not that I mind that much.
Their laughter echoes throughout the room.
Alike and yet unlike, unlike and yet alike, the pair forge a bond of friendship sure to last till the end of time.
