Happy Birthday Cutscenes
# Link Text
1

Here's to your birthday, Captain. It's an honor to be by your side.
Together we'll see many birthdays to come, because I'll always be watching your back. I promise.

2

Happy birthday, (Captain). I'm glad to be by your side to see you get one more year under your belt.
And in order to see you through to the next birthday, I'll always be right there protecting you.
Even if the day should come when I'm unable to greet you on your birthday...
My heart will always be with you.
You're not alone, (Captain), and you never will be.

3

Happy birthday, (Captain). Glad to be able to tell you in person.
With the passing of each year, I feel as if you become ever promising.
But you've been hoarding a lot of responsibility lately. It kind of has me worried.
When I said that I'd protect you, I didn't mean just physically. I also meant your soul.
I realize there are times when there's no other choice but to bear it all, and I certainly don't want to tell you what you can or can't do.
But when you do feel overburdened, know that you can call for help. Basically what I'm saying is trust me.
Well, I know I kind of get mad at my sisters when they go overboard, but...

4

Happy birthday, (Captain). I'm glad I get to say those words to you.
You age so well every year. And become even more fit to be our captain.
I just worry as someone who has experienced what you have, whether or not you are pushing yourself too hard.
I know what it's like to put up a tough front as I ran a band of mercenaries of my own.
You must believe in yourself to lead the pack, and that requires keeping your chest held high. It also means enduring incredible stress.
While hardship can lead to personal growth, it can impede when a person takes on too much.
You must learn to depend on, and call on, us for help. I know that for someone as strong as you are that might be difficult.
All around you are people you can rely on. Should there ever come a time when you are unsure of yourself or unhappy with anything, lean on us.
We are here to watch over you... To help you. Please... never forget.

5

Happy birthday, (Captain). I'm so happy that I can celebrate this special day with you again.
We've been traveling together for quite a while now, haven't we?
You were always someone I could depend on... And now, you've really become a trustworthy captain and skyfarer.
I'm sure you have things you feel you can't tell others about, and worries that even adults have...
I'm not saying that you should tell me all of them. You're free to say or hide whatever you want, of course.
And that's exactly why I'll do my best to make sure you'll always have the space and freedom to think and reflect inside yourself.
I'll be here to protect you whenever you encounter hardships and trials, (Captain).
That's the least I can do. I hope we can celebrate many more birthdays together from here on out.

Happy New Year Cutscenes

1

Happy New Year.
I'm happy to be ringing in the new year with you, (Captain). Let's focus our attention on the future ahead.

2

Happy New Year! Did you catch the sunrise this morning?
Me? I'm on my way out for target practice.
Call me obsessed, but missing even a single day ruins my week.
If I'm going to keep covering your back, then I have to keep my aim sharp.
Hm? You don't have to come with me. You should enjoy the day off... Well if you insist, I could use another pair of eyes. Thanks, (Captain).

3

Happy New Year, (Captain). We made it through another one.
I'll be ever more vigilant in providing cover for you and everyone else.
The start of a new year is the perfect time to refocus one's concentration.
It's not that I'm not focused on any other day but just saying it aloud strengthens the resolve.
As always, I'll see you through any hardships on your journey.

4

Happy New Year, (Captain). Here's to another with you.
I know the year just started, but I'll need to be on my way.
Yes, I'm going to train. There's quite a bit of snow, and these conditions are perfect.
We never know when or what will come our way.
To protect you all, I have to do everything in my power to become stronger.
With any luck, I'll catch something good, and we'll have a wonderful dinner together.
So... here I go.

5

(Captain), would you like some more tea? Ah, yes. Now I remember. I've got some pears. I could go get them and peel—
You're right. Cucouroux, Camieux, I'm sorry. I did promise to let loose today.
But... Is it really such a good idea to do absolutely nothing? On the first day of the year?
You know, they say you should plan the year ahead on New Year's Day. How about this? I won't go out, but I'll exercise, just a— N-no? All right...
I know that you two are right. It's important to rest, but I can't help but feel like I should be doing something.
Well... Yes, you have a point. If I keep running around like this, (Captain) won't be able to relax.
All right. For (Captain)'s sake, I'll try to settle down...
What? If I keep thinking like this, I'll never be able to let loose? I-I wasn't aware of that.

Valentine's Day Cutscenes

1

Happy Valentine's Day! Good work as always. I'd like you to have this since you're always watching my back.
I want you to raise your stamina by enjoying these sweets. Sometimes it's absolutely necessary to take a step back and rest.

2

Is now a good time, (Captain)? Great, thank you.
I know it's not much, but I'd like you to have this.
It's for your hard work. Well, it's actually deeper than that. More like feelings of gratitude. You're always watching my back, after all.
By the way, do you prefer something that's a little... flashier? Not really? I see. That's a relief.
I don't know why I'm so nervous all of a sudden. Huh? What do you mean my face is all red?
Look, it's not nice to tease me like that. I just got a little emotional, that's all.

3

(Captain)... Um... Happy Valentine's Day.
Mm, that's not really "me," is it? Let me start over.
Ahem. This is from me to you, with my appreciation and all.
It's a physical representation of the respect and gratitude that I feel toward you everyday.
Words and expressions are not part of my arsenal.
But sometimes I think I do manage to tell you exactly what I mean to say. That pretty much covers it.

4

(Captain), these are for you.
Yes, they're Valentine's Day gifts.
This and this... That's right, I got you two things. I couldn't just pick one, so...
This one lasts quite a while and can easily be taken on the go. I recommend eating this as a source of nourishment when you find yourself in difficult circumstances.
Now for the second one... Isn't this wrapping lovely? I hear the chocolate is very tasty as well.
I saw it in a shop and wanted to get it for you.
(Captain)... I know that many respect and care for you, so you'll be receiving a great deal of presents today.
Therefore giving you two gifts instead of one might lead to waste, but I just couldn't make up my mind.
Thank you for accepting my gifts. I'm happy so long as you are.

5

Happy Valentine's, (Captain). These chocolates are for you. They're quite good, apparently.
If you have time, would you like some tea? I just got my hands on a tin of leaves; they have this wonderful fragrance that would go well with chocolate.
Hehe. All right, then let me go heat up some water. Oh, and remember the chocolates from last year? I still have some left, so let's finish them up.
Actually, I've prepared a fresh batch of emergency chocolates; they're very rich in nutrients. Take a few with you.
I mean, I would rather you never find yourself in a dangerous situation. And I'm here to make sure you stay safe.
But for skyfarers and snipers, danger is part of the job. It's better to be safe than sorry.
What am I saying? It's Valentine's. Sorry. Just... Being a sniper makes you overly cautious, you know?
But... It is true that I pray for your safety every single day... From the bottom of my heart.

White Day Cutscenes

1

Happy White Day! The girls at the gun workshop gave me some chocolates on Valentine's Day.
It's kind of late, but I wanted to return the favor with cookies. I think I baked too many though. Would you like one?

2

What is it? Do we have something to discuss?
A present? For me?
Hmm. Ah, sorry. No, I really do appreciate it.
I just never expected to get anything from you. I'm speechless.
Thank you. Even the box is quite nice. I'll set it on the shelf next to my tea collection.

3

You're giving me these desserts, (Captain)?
I'm sorry. Did my valentine cause you to do this?
Is that so? Well, as long as you enjoyed the sweets I gave you, it was worth it.
But above all else, I'm thankful for this gift you've given me. I won't let it go to waste.
Knowing that you're thinking of me, it's hard to describe how happy I feel other than... very happy.

4

Is this a White Day present for me?
Thank you, (Captain). Are you doing this just to repay my Valentine's gift?
No? You aren't?
You're happy so long as I am? I see... I suppose that's what gifts are for.
I'm sorry... I really am happy about this though. It's just...
I'm not one to smile and show my happiness openly. Things like this... embarrass me.
You want me to express my feelings of joy?
Stop that, (Captain). You're just making me blush even more. Let me keep some of my pride, won't you...

5

(Captain)... Thank you. This is a lovely White Day's gift—though you really didn't need to.
Er... Well, I certainly can't start jumping for joy. I am an adult, after all.
But... I really am happy. It's all I can do to keep my face from flushing.
Oh, I don't know... I suppose I just don't want my emotions to hold sway over me. Adults are meant to simply accept things—calmly.
But that isn't easy when it comes to you. Camieux often calls me a perfect adult, but that's not true.
Well, when someone important to you lets you know that you're also important to them... Your heart starts pounding. It's embarrassing, but...
All right, stop it. Why is it only at times like these you start acting like a child? Asking one question after another...
Haven't you ever heard the saying "Speech is silver, silence is gold?" Don't ask what I mean by... important... Please...

Trick or Treat Cutscenes
# Link Text
1

Happy Halloween!
It warms my heart to see the children having so much fun playing dress-up.
What? Why don't I wear one too? Well, it's kind of embarrassing...

2

Both the town and the Grandcypher are so lively today. Seeing all these children having a blast—it really warms my heart.
Back when I lived at the workshop, I would bring little Cucouroux and Camieux out to get candy.
Yes, we all dressed up together. Why do you ask?
Me dressing up at my age? Y-you can't be serious!

3

Happy Halloween, (Captain)! I see you're fully engrossed in Halloween spirit.
Oops! That was close. I almost fell for your trick there.
Hehe, thanks to Cucouroux, I've trained myself not to fall prey to most attempts at trickery.
It'd be troublesome to be caught in your trap. I think we can come to an understanding with some candy.
Now go out and have some fun, but don't eat too many sweets, okay?

4

You had me worried, Camieux. Come now, smile a little.
Hm? Oh, it's you, (Captain).
What am I doing? Haha. Camieux is a little shaken up about a prank that Cucouroux pulled on her.
She came to me looking for a safe haven.
Are you okay, Camieux?
Really? I'm glad to see you've calmed down a little.
I know something that might lift your spirits—what if we play a prank on Cucouroux? Will you help us, (Captain)?
It's Halloween after all. We shouldn't just be the victims of pranks; we should play them too.
Thank you, (Captain). We really appreciate your help.
All right. Let's start strategizing. (Captain), do you have any ideas?
Hahaha! That sounds fun! Camieux, what do you say? Come on, join us.

5

It's so lively everywhere during the Halloween season—just looking at all the festivities gets me excited.
Hehe. The horns and accessories that Cucouroux and Mama Gunsmith made for you really suit you.
Yeah, they made some for me too, so I'll be putting mine on as well. Hehe, we all match.
Oh, could you wait a little while before asking trick-or-treat?
Camieux and I are just about to head into town to get some treats.
We're gonna get some really cute and delicious ones, so look forward to them... Huh?
If you say trick-or-treat now, then you'll get to play a trick on me for sure?
W-what! (Captain)! You can't tease grown-ups like that!

Happy Holidays Cutscenes
# Link Text
1

Season's greetings. I may not be as young as I once was, but whenever the holidays roll around I still get so excited.
Can I add something to the tree?

2

Even though snow presents a danger to snipers, I can't help but enjoy the holiday weather.
Falling in a soft patter all around, surrounding you like kind comrades in a bunker...
Hehe. Maybe I just have an overactive imagination.
I wonder if it will snow this year... If it doesn't, prepare to begin Operation Deck the Halls with Fake Snow.

3

This island is ready for the holiday festivities. Santa Claus must be busy too.
Speaking of Santa, that reminds me of something Cucouroux said when she was a little girl.
She'd asked Santa for a big sister and a little sister.
Then one day Camieux came along, and I ended up staying with the gunsmiths as well. Essentially her wish came true.
When Cucouroux grew a little older, she apologized to me.
She said it was because of her wish to Santa that I couldn't go back to my hometown.
That wasn't the case at all though. That's the kindness of the girl I call my precious sister.

4

Hello, (Captain). So I made it in time for dinner. What a relief.
Cucouroux said she would send a gift to the gunsmiths for the holidays.
So I sent a card to them and to my parents.
I never thought I would be able to speak with my mother and father again. It's almost like a dream.
When Mephorash was sealed, I had no idea whether they were safe or not...
My home was saved thanks to you, (Captain).
Thank you... (Captain)... With all my heart...

5

(Captain), I'm back. Yes, I was just at the gun workshop.
My parents came to visit. It was nice seeing them again. Today's a holiday—back on the island where the workshop is, I mean—so thanks for letting me take time off.
I... wouldn't go so far as to call this a gift, but I got you a simple souvenir. Here, it's black tea and an island specialty.
Hehe. The container is adorable, isn't it? That shop always changes the design of its tins to match the seasons. This is their winter design.
Back when I lodged at the gun workshop, I would always go to that shop, just for their containers.
I'd also have tea parties with Cucouroux and Camieux, and we'd use these leaves... Hehe. We always had such a good time.
Perhaps I should hold another tea party soon. I could invite Cucouroux, Camieux, and Tweyen.
And, if you have time, (Captain), I'd like for you to come as well. There'll be delicious sweets to go with the tea, I promise.

The Perils of Dressing Up

Silva is a familiar face at breakfast time, so when she is absent one morning, Lyria is concerned for her well-being. Together with (Captain) and Vyrn, they pay a visit to her quarters to check up on her. They find her struggling to don a yukata she received from Mama Gunsmith. Even after successfully wrapping herself in the garment, she struggles to maneuver in the unfamiliar attire. (Captain) and Lyria decide to accompany her for the day dressed in their own yukata in an effort to help her get used to it. At the end of the day, (Captain) and Silva promise to attend a festival in yukata together someday.

(Captain) and Vyrn enjoy are hanging out together on a rare day off for the crew.
Having finished breakfast, they encounter Lyria as they take a leisurely stroll.
Lyria: Oh, (Captain). Have you seen Silva this morning by any chance?
Vyrn: Hm? I can't say I remember seeing her. I've been spending all of my time with (Captain) here, though, so I wasn't really paying attention.
(Captain) and Vyrn tilt their heads slightly at the girl's inquiry. She appears to be a little concerned.
Lyria: No one has seen her yet, not even at breakfast. She's always waking up so early, so I thought that was a bit strange. I'm worried that something may have happened...
Vyrn: She was definitely with us on the job yesterday, so maybe she's feeling a little beat and taking advantage of the day off... But nah, you're right. That'd be unlike her.
Vyrn: Snipes's not one to go oversleeping or anything, no matter the circumstance. She hasn't caught a cold or something like that, has she?
The three look at each other and nod silently, an implicit understanding of what they must do next.
Vyrn: Only one way to find out!
Lyria: Yes! Let's give her door a knock now.
Lyria: Good morning, Silva! It's Lyria!
Silva's Voice: Oh, good morning, Lyria. I think I heard Vyrn just a moment ago too. Is (Captain) with you by any chance?
Lyria: Yep! We were a bit worried since we didn't see you at breakfast this morning, so we just came to check up on you...
Silva's Voice: Ah, sorry for worrying you! It's just that I've been fiddling with this new outfit of mine. I've never worn something quite like this before...
Vyrn: A new type of outfit, huh?
Silva's Voice: It really would just be faster if I asked someone with more experience with these things to help me. Do you mind waiting a moment?
Lyria: ...?
Silva: Sorry to keep you waiting. I couldn't exactly greet you in the hall before putting something on, at least.
Silva: I'm having trouble putting on this yukata.
Lyria: Oh, a yukata! Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever seen you wear one, Silva!
Silva: Right. I've seen (Captain) and you all wear them during our excursions to Auguste plenty of times, so I thought that maybe I should get in on the trend.
Silva: After all, you look fantastic while wearing them! So I told Mama Gunsmith all about them, and she decided that she wanted to try her hand at making one. Here it is...
Silva opens her door to reveal her bed. The yukata in question lies spread out over the sheets.
Silva: She really went and sewed one up for me.
Lyria: Wow, it looks so beautiful! She must be an amazing seamstress to be able to make a yukata from scratch!
Silva: She mentioned in the accompanying letter that it was a good opportunity for her to try something new. I never thought that she would actually send me one, though... I'm not sure how I can thank her.
Vyrn: Hehe, well, I think you gotta start with just successfully getting the thing on!
Silva: Yes, you're right. I just can't seem to figure it out, though...
Silva: Every time I try, the neck portion here becomes misaligned...
Gran is the Main Character

Lyria: Oh, I see! Putting on and wearing yukata definitely takes a little getting used to.
Lyria: I should be able to help you put it on!
Silva: Oh, can I ask you to take the time? I would really appreciate it.

Silva: I should have just asked someone with as much experience as you from the get-go.
Lyria: That's totally fine! I've worn one plenty of times in Auguste too, so I'm ready to help!

Lyria: Sorry, (Captain)! You don't mind, right?
Vyrn: In that case, I'll go to the kitchen and tell 'em to save you a bit of the leftovers from breakfast!

Silva: Looks like I can always rely on you for cover. Thank you, (Captain).
Lyria's Voice: Ah, please wait! Before you go, we should do your hair like this... There we go!
Lyria's Voice: Ta-da!
Silva's Voice: Thank you, Lyria! At last, I too can take part in the yukata experience.
Vyrn: Oh, looks like you've finished changing!
Silva: Sorry for the wait. Thank you again, you all.
Silva: Though, has it already started to slip? I've only taken a few steps...
Lyria: It took me awhile to get used to walking in a yukata at first, too.
Vyrn: The folds tend to rub together and cause a bit of slippage. I was told to just take it easy and go at a bit slower of a pace than I'm used to.
Silva: It seems that big steps are a no-no, then. I don't want the belt to come loose.
Silva: The last thing I want is to appear unkempt out in public. Maybe I should wait to go out like this until I've had a bit of practice walking about.
  1. You can practice around the airship!
  2. I'd like to see an unkempt Silva, just once!

Choose: You can practice around the airship!
Silva: Urgh, even if it's among friends and comrades, I'd rather not...
Vyrn: Haha, oh, don't worry, Snipes! We wouldn't mind.
Vyrn: I think we all know how finnicky yukata can be at first.

Choose: I'd like to see an unkempt Silva, just once!
Silva: Huh!
Lyria: Oh, I was thinking the same thing!
Silva: Lyria, you too...
Lyria: It's just that you're typically on guard and ready for anything at a moment's notice. I thought it might be cute to see you loosened up a bit, if you know what I mean.
Vyrn: Yeah, we're all pals here. You could afford to relax a bit!
Continue 3
Silva: I-is that so?
Silva: Well... how about this? (Captain), would you do the same with me? I think I could relax and have a bit of fun that way.
  1. Let's do it!

Choose: Let's do it!
Lyria: Oh, good idea! I'll even join you guys!
Before Silva even has a chance to say anything else, (Captain) and Lyria exchange a quick nod and rush off in their separate ways to get changed.
For Silva, the day has turned into a yukata-wearing crash course.
Silva: Hm, so just how small should I be making my strides?
Lyria: It's a little hard to explain in words... I know! Please watch me!
Silva: I see, I see... One foot's length at a time, then?
(Captain) sneaks up behind the ambling Silva and begins to tickle her sides.
Silva: Eep!
Silva: Ha, ha-ha, ha... That tickles, (Captain)! P-please stop...
  1. You were bending your back too much!

Choose: You were bending your back too much!
Silva: W-was I? I shifted all of my attention to my feet, so I wasn't even thinking about my posture.
Silva: Hm? Does that really require tickles to fix?
(Captain) teases Silva with a stuck out tongue, and she retaliates by poking (Captain) on the cheek.
Silva: Hey! I'm trying my best here. You can't just go around bullying me like that!
Silva: Goodness, what am I going to do with you...
Lyria: Silva! How'd it go?
Lyria: Wha!
Lyria comes rushing back toward Silva and (Captain). In her hurry, her feet get tripped up and she begins to stumble.
Silva: Ah!
Silva: Lyria, are you okay?
Lyria: Teehee, thank you, Silva. And here I thought I had gotten used to moving around in a yukata...
Vyrn: If you haven't worn one in a while, you can expect your brain to reset itself in a few places it seems.
Lyria: I think you're right. Silva, let's keep practicing together!
(Captain) takes this chance to also check for any yukata abnormalities.
As night falls and Lyria and Vyrn head off to help with dinner preparations, Silva and (Captain) step onto the deck.
Silva: I think I've gotten the hang of it, but I'm not sure if there is anything I might be missing...
  1. You shouldn't worry too much.
  2. Then let me check.

Choose: You shouldn't worry too much.
Silva: Is it that noticeable? Yes, I suppose you're right.
Silva: Like you said before, I should probably try relaxing a bit more. It's not every day you get to wear such a fun outfit.

Choose: Then let me check.
Silva: Oh, (Captain)... Again with the teasing?
Silva: Though, I was thinking that even if something is a little off with the outfit, some can still make it work in their favor.
Silva: Like you, (Captain).
Continue 4
Silva smiles softly. Anyone who would see her now would likely think that she looks even more beautiful than she imagines.
  1. A yukata really suits you!

Choose: A yukata really suits you!
(Captain) suddenly compliments Silva, as if realizing that the focus on teasing may have been taking too much priority.
Silva: Heh... Haha, what's gotten into you, all of a sudden?
Silva: But really, thank you. I'm really glad to hear you say that above anyone else.
Silva: I think our day of practice here has really proven to be fruitful.
Silva: I should be able to join you all at those festivals now, at least. Truth be told, I've been wanting to try one of those shooting games.
Silva: Will you let me know the next time you go out to one?
(Captain) smiles and nods, then offers up a pinky swear.
The day ends with Silva feeling confident in an unfamiliar guise.

A Festival Night to Remember

Sierokarte has asked the crew to undertake an escort job, and the crew heads to a mansion belonging to a rich merchant on a certain trade island. They are greeted by the household maid, who asks the crew to serve as bodyguards to the merchant's young daughter as she enjoys a local festival. The crew have their work cut out for them, as the island is crawling with mercenaries hired to target the young lady to gain leverage over the merchant family.

(Captain) and crew have come to a certain town to undertake a job for a wealthy merchant. As is often the case, Sierokarte introduced the crew to the request.
The crew arrives at the merchant's mansion to hear the details of the job.
Vyrn: We heard from Knickknack that this was going to be an escort mission.
Worrisome Maid: Thank you very much for coming all this way. Please allow me to explain the job in the lord's stead.
Worrisome Maid: We would like to ask your crew to escort the lord's daughter, as bodyguards.
Silva: His daughter...
Silva: Would that be her, peering at us through that door?
Little Lady: ...!
Worrisome Maid: My lady, please! I do recall asking you to wait in your room!
Little Lady: But... I only thought it proper to introduce myself, seeing as they will be the ones to serve as my escort...
Lyria: Oh, how thoughtful! My name is Lyria. Nice to meet you!
Little Lady: How do you do, Lyria? I hope we can get along.
Silva: My, how very polite for someone her age! I'm Silva, a sniper. Nice to meet you.
Silva: We are to be her bodyguards, you said? It seems to me that the household is not lacking in its own guards.
Vyrn: Yeah, there're a lot of tough-lookin' mercenary fellas all over the place...
Worrisome Maid: Yes, well about that...
Little Lady: No need to be so hush-hush about it. I understand what's going on. So please, tell them.
Worrisome Maid: Right... Well this may turn into a bit of a long story, but please allow me to tell you a little bit about the situation on this island.
The maid explains to the crew that the island is located in an advantageous position, allowing it to serve as a sort of trading post for other nearby islands.
Worrisome Maid: Our island attracts all sorts of people and goods. Unfortunately, some of those people are less than savory...
Worrisome Maid: The lord is the wealthiest man on the island, and as such commands a fair deal of authority here. He has banded together with some other merchants to establish rules in an effort to get rid of crime.
Silva: Ah, I think I get the picture. So now the household is being targeted by the very people he's been working to stave off?
Worrisome Maid: Correct... And at this time, my lady has become a target for many who are willing to use her as leverage to threaten the lord...
Vyrn: Oh geez, what a dastardly scheme...
Worrisome Maid: Yes, quite. And because of this, my lady has not been able to leave the mansion at all as of late.
Silva: That must be so tough for a girl of her age... I can't imagine not even being able to go outside for a stroll.
Little Lady: More than myself, I am more concerned for my father. It has been quite taxing for him as well.
Silva: You're very considerate, thinking of your father like that. I'm sure he's very proud of you!
Little Lady: ...
Worrisome Maid: The lord regrets that he cannot even let her go outside for festivals and the like.
Worrisome Maid: This time, we would like to allow her the opportunity. Would you all please keep watch over her as she enjoys the next festival?
Vyrn: We can't very well say "no" to that, now can we, (Captain)?
(Captain) nods, and smiles at the young girl.
Little Lady: Wonderful! Thank you very much, skyfarers. I've been wanting to go out for a festival for so long...
Lyria: Leave it to us! We're gonna make sure you can have the time of your life!
Vyrn: All right, let's come up with a plan of attack for this thing! Tell us what you wanna do first!
Little Lady: Okay!
Worrisome Maid: ...
Silva: Though young in appearance, our captain has the full trust of many. You don't have to worry.
Silva: Would you have us watch over her on our airship? Though, I suppose it would not be wise to try getting her there, considering the situation...
Worrisome Maid: Oh, my apologies. Please excuse my manners.
Worrisome Maid: In truth, I do not doubt the ability of your captain nor your crew. It is just... I am worried for my lady...
Worrisome Maid: She is so young, and harbors nary a rebellion of any kind. She listens to her father without even a touch of selfishness.
Silva: It did appear that she is a very well-behaved child.
Worrisome Maid: One day, I told her about the many memories I have of the festivals on the island.
Worrisome Maid: Ever since then, she has only spoken of how much she desires to go out to one herself.
Silva: You've chosen the right people for the job. We'll make sure that she has a great time.
Worrisome Maid: Thank you so much. My lady is in your care.

A Festival Night to Remember: Scene 2

(Captain) and the crew plan their route around the festival grounds with the young girl. When asked about what she wants to do at the festival, the girl mentions that she would like to wear a yukata. While the rest of the crew returns to the Grandcypher to retrieve the garments, Silva stays behind to keep watch over the girl. Silva notices that the girl may be hiding something from them, and in an effort to prioritize her safety, gently convinces the girl to share her secret goal for the evening—visiting a crafts stall to buy a ring.

The little lady of the house shows her new bodyguards, (Captain) and crew, to her room. A map of the town's shopping district is laid out on her table.
Lyria: Wow, you've been doing a lot of preparation for the festival! It looks like it covers a huge area of the town too!
Little Lady: The festival was established when we entered into peaceful relations with a nearby island. Our islands had been fighting for a long time.
Little Lady: The merchants in the shopping district bring out special stalls, and um... They put a big stage right here.
Vyrn: A stage, huh? I bet there are a lotta street performers and singers going up there!
Little Lady: Have you ever watched a street performer, (Captain)?
  1. I have!

Choose: I have!
Ulamnuran is a crew member, Any version of Carmelina is a crew member

Vyrn: Hehe, you know, we actually have some of them among our own ranks!
Little Lady: Oh, how fun!
Lyria: And look, there's goldfish scooping, a shooting game, a target game... Oh, and so much food too! Yakisoba, cotton candy, and crepes all sound really good right now...
Little Lady: Cotton? You can eat cotton at a festival?
Lyria: Well, it's a sweet candy that only feels like cotton! It's like eating a cloud!
Vyrn: If we're talking about candy, then we've gotta try the candy apples!
Little Lady: So is that a kind of candy that only looks like an apple?
Vyrn: Nope, it actually is an apple! It's all covered in sugary-sweet goodness.
Silva: ...
The girl listens with wide eyes as Lyria and Vyrn regale her with their festival knowledge.
Silva: So now that you know a little more about what to expect, what would you like to do first? Is there a stall you would like to visit?
Little Lady: Well...
Silva: Mm.
Little Lady: There are just so many I want to go to... I can't possibly decide which to visit first...
Silva: Oh?
Little Lady: Ah, I know!
Little Lady: Do you all know about um... yukata?
Vyrn: We don't just know about 'em, we have our own!
Little Lady: Well, if it isn't too much to ask, do you think I could try wearing one too?
Little Lady: I heard a merchant from Auguste say that you can't go to a festival without one.
Vyrn: I see! And he has a point! When going to a festival, you just gotta dress the part!
(Captain), Vyrn, and Lyria return to the Grandcypher to gather some yukata.
Silva remains at the mansion with the girl. She has lost herself in the map, so Silva calls out to her.
Silva: Little miss?
Little Lady: Oh, yes! I'm sorry, it's just that looking at the map is so much fun!
Silva: Oh, not at all! I'm sorry for startling you like that. There's something else I would like to ask you.
Silva: I get the feeling that... Well, there is something else you wish to accomplish at the festival.
Little Lady: Ah...
Silva: Don't worry, I'm not trying to scold you, so please relax.
Silva: I know very well that girls your age like to keep their own secrets.
Silva: If you were to try to do something without letting us know, or if you were to go off on your own, that would make it rather difficult for us to protect you, right?
Silva: So for your sake and for the sake of those who love you so dearly, won't you at least tell me what you really want to do? I promise to keep it a secret between us and the crew!
Silva bends down to meet the girl at eye level. They glance at the door, making sure that it is shut. The girl then whispers to Silva.
Little Lady: Actually... There is a ring being sold at the festival that I would like to buy.
Silva: Oh, a ring? So that would mean we need to visit one of the craft stalls. Do you know where they will be located?
Little Lady: ...
Little Lady: Um, I thought you would ask me why I want a ring...
Silva: That's something you want to keep a secret, right?
Silva: I don't mean to take any bit of enjoyment away from your festival experience.
Silva: That's what we promised when we decided to protect you.
Little Lady: Thank you, Miss Skyfarer.
Silva: Of course! I just don't want you to wander off to the craft stalls on your own.
Silva: So let's go together, okay? I'll keep it a secret from the maid too, of course.
Little Lady: Okay!
As they wait for (Captain) and the others to return, Silva and the young girl attempt to determine the location of the craft stalls.

A Festival Night to Remember: Scene 3

The group heads to the festival grounds. They soon encounter a stall selling Auguste fried squid. The household maid offers to wait in line to buy some squid for everyone, so Silva takes this chance to escort the girl to the craft stalls. While the girl is browsing for the perfect ring, Silva notices the presence of would-be assassins and quickly subdues them. Silva is embarrassed to find her yukata in bad shape after the tussle.

Dressed up in their finest yukata, (Captain) and the crew tasked with keeping watch over the merchant's daughter head to the festival grounds together with her and the house maid.
Worrisome Maid: My lady, please make sure you stay close by the skyfarers.
Little Lady: Yes, I will.
Silva: There are so many people out and about, so why don't we hold hands so that you don't get lost in the crowd?
Little Lady: Okay!
Vyrn: Whew, I know we could kinda tell just by lookin' at the map, but this festival really is massive!
Lyria: I don't think we could even possibly see every stall...
Lyria: If you start to feel tired or if your feet start hurting, just let us know! We'll find a spot to take a break.
Little Lady: Okay, thank you, skyfarers!
Hands grasped tightly, Silva walks beside the nervous young lady. The crew starts by surveying the stalls lined up before them.
Little Lady: Oh, is that the shooting game?
Vyrn: It is! Whaddya say, Snipes? Wanna give it a try?
Silva: No, that's okay. I wouldn't want to put the poor fellow out of business.
Lyria: Yeah, Silva would easily be able to win all of the prizes!
Little Lady: Really?
Lyria: Yup! Silva really is an amazing sniper. If her eyes can see it, and they can see a lot, she hits it.
Silva: Oh, Lyria... Aren't you exaggerating a little bit?
Silva: Ah, and there's a candy apple stand. Will you be going to get some, Vyrn?
Vyrn: Don't even have to ask!
Vyrn: But uh... Where is the stand?
Silva: Right over there, see? At the end of this street.
Little Lady: Hmm?
Vyrn: Oh, you're right! I'm amazed you could see it from here.
Lyria: You see? What'd I tell you about Silva's eyes?
The crew approaches the candy apple stand.
Lyria: What's going on at the stand next door? Just look at that line!
Lyria: Hm... Fried squid, "Imported from Auguste," it says...
Worrisome Maid: Auguste and this island are quite far apart. It's quite rare to see fresh seafood products from there around these parts.
Lyria: That's a good point! Normally, they would have to be dried and preserved for transport...
Vyrn: Looks like they made a special arrangement for the festival!
Silva: ...!
And it's a favorite of ours. Why don't we try some out?
Little Lady: Yes, I would love to!
Worrisome Maid: In that case, please leave the waiting in line to me.
Lyria: I'll go with you! You might need more than two hands to get some for everyone.
Leaving the squid to Lyria and the maid, the group begins to browse different stalls.
  1. I saw that wink...

Choose: I saw that wink...
Silva: Oh, so you noticed! I think Lyria has caught on too.
Silva: There's something that the little lady hopes to accomplish in secret.
Silva: Let's take this opportunity where the maid is not with us to go get what you've been wanting to get.
Little Lady: Okay!
(Captain) and Vyrn do not pry too much. They all head toward where the craft stalls are located.
Vyrn: Whoa! I've never seen any stall at a festival sell anything this pricey before!
Little Lady: The island is famous for its gemstones. These craftspeople and their shops have been an important presence here for a long time.
Vyrn: Gotcha! And I guess a festival is as good a time as ever to sell loads of their wares!
Silva: All right, let's get to looking for a ring.
Little Lady: Yes!
The young girl carefully examines the various rings on display.
Little Lady: ...
Silva: ...
Silva: (This takes me back... I remember going to festivals with Cucouroux when she was younger. She made the same kind of face trying to decide what she wanted to get.)
Silva: (Hehe, she would always try to determine which of the cream puffs had the most filling just by looking at them...)
Silva is alert to her surroundings in a way as not to worry the young girl accompanying her. The sniper identifies a faint sound.
Silva: (That sound!)
Silva grasps and twists the arm of a man passing behind the girl.
Assassin: Guh!
From his hand drops a loaded gun, the firing pin primed for a shot. (Captain) and Vyrn take up a defensive stance.
Silva: (There are at least two others!)
Silva: (Captain), Vyrn! I leave this one to you!
Vyrn: You got it!
(Captain) apprehends the man, and Vyrn helps the young lady get away to safety. Silva gives chase to the other would-be assassins.
Silva: Don't even think you'll be getting away!
Silva grabs an ornament hanging in front of one of the stalls and aims for one of the assassin's companion's heads. With a mighty blow, she is knocked out cold.
Hired Blade: Damn!
With no where else to run, Silva easily subdues another one of the men.
Silva: You might be good at blending in, but that seems to be the extent of your skills.
Hired Blade: Gah!
Silva apprehends all of those who were after the merchant's daughter.
She delivers them over to the island's security forces. (Captain) meets her there after delivering the first assailant.
Silva: Phew!
Vyrn: Heyyy, Snipes! Are you okay?
Silva: Yes, I'm fine. And the little lady?
Little Lady: I'm okay. Um... are you hurt anywhere?
Silva: Just a few scratches. It's nothing serious, so don't worry.
Little Lady: That's good. Your yukata is all messed up, so I thought something might have happened...
Silva: Messed up?
Silva: Wha!
Just as the young lady points out, Silva's yukata is a bit worse for wear.
Silva: Ugh... I can't believe it. Dressed like this...
Silva: In front of all these people...
Vyrn: Hey now, I think they understand. They saw everything that just went down, you know.
Silva: Sniff... Yes... I suppose you are right...
Worrisome Maid: My lady!
Lyria and the maid come rushing toward the group. The maid grasps the young girl tightly in her arms.
Worrisome Maid: Sniff... Sniff...
My lady, you're safe!
Little Lady: D-don't cry, please. The skyfarers all kept me safe.
Worrisome Maid: Sniff... Skyfarers, how can I thank you?
Silva: We were just doing our job! But you know, that fuss sure ate up a lot of our time...
Vyrn: It's gotten pretty dark... We should probably think about heading back to the mansion.
Little Lady: That's okay, I had a ton of fun! Thank you for protecting me, skyfarers!
Not letting their guards down for a moment, the crew escorts the merchant's daughter back to the mansion.

A Festival Night to Remember: Scene 4

Upon returning to the mansion that night, the young girl completes her secret goal by gifting the ring she chose to the maid. The attendant would often tell the young girl stories about her own festival experiences when she was younger, and had mentioned losing a precious ring that she had gotten at a festival long ago. This is the girl's way of repaying the woman for her kindness. The scene reminds Silva of similar experiences she had with Cucouroux and Camieux long ago. To finish the evening, the crew watches the fireworks from the mansion garden, snacks in hand.

Little Lady: We're back!
Worrisome Maid: Phew... I'm glad we made it back safely.
Worrisome Maid: Those who were caught... I can't help but think they were just the underlings of some other mastermind...
Worrisome Maid: I don't think you should be going out again anytime soon.
Little Lady: ...
Worrisome Maid: Oh, skyfarers, you must all be hungry! Please allow me to prepare something!
Vyrn: Oh, that'd be great!
Little Lady: The festival... Because of me, we couldn't all have a good time...
Silva: I don't think that's entirely true. It was fun while it lasted, but we did what we had to do to keep you safe.
Lyria: That's right! I can tell that the maid really cares for you.
Silva: And now... Why don't you finish your own little mission?
Little Lady: Ok!
After waiting for a while with the girl, the crew is called into the garden by the maid.
Vyrn: Wow, look at all this food! Did you make all of this yourself?
Worrisome Maid: Together with the kitchen staff, as a way to say "thank you" for keeping our lady safe.
Lyria: I think it's us who should be saying "thank you"!
Little Lady: Um...
Worrisome Maid: What is it, my lady? Don't tell me, are you hurt?
Little Lady: No, that's not it. Umm, please take this!
The young girl thrusts a clasped hand toward the maid. She opens her palm to reveal the ring.
Worrisome Maid: This is...
Little Lady: Remember? You told me that when you went to the festival all those years ago, that there was a ring that you bought?
Worrisome Maid: ...
Little Lady: You found one that you really liked, but then you lost it...
Little Lady: So I wanted to get you a new one... as a present...
Worrisome Maid: My lady...
Worrisome Maid: The ring that I lost... It was nowhere near as beautiful as this one!
Little Lady: Really?
Worrisome Maid: Yes... And I'll be sure to never lose this one. I will treasure it always, for as long as I live, my lady.
Little Lady: Yes, yes! Please do! Thank you so much for everything you do for me!
The young girl embraces the maid with a tight hug. Silva looks on with a smile.
Silva: (Just like Cucouroux... She wouldn't be after those cream puffs for herself, but would opt to give them to me and Camieux.)
Silva: (And she had so much fun while doing so. I think she enjoyed seeing the two of us happy...)
Lyria: Oh, that sound...
Vyrn: Oh hey, it's fireworks! I see now why you invited us outside for the snacks, Miss!
Worrisome Maid: I would be overjoyed if you enjoyed our snacks with the fireworks. And there's even more where that came from!
Silva: Now these are some VIP seats!
A fitting end for an eventful day.
For the young lady and her maid—and for (Captain) and the crew, it was not one they would soon forget.
