The Flutterby Princess
One day, (Captain) and the crew visit Narmaya, the famous swordmaster, to learn the secret of her training. She confides in (Captain) that no one has ever recognized her efforts, and the party raises her spirits by telling her how much they admire her skills. Ever since, Narmaya has been strangely attached to the party, fussing over them at every opportunity, eventually offering to accompany them on their journey.
Narmaya: Hey, (Captain)! Are you OK? You're not hungry, are you? Shall I go and get you some fruit?
Narmaya: Oh, (Captain)! Are you cold? Here, take my coat!
(Captain) and the crew are visiting a forest where the air is still and the distant sounds of birds can be heard. Then…
Narmaya: (Captain)! Lyria! Vyrn!
Narmaya, the katana-wielding Draph, has come to be very attached to (Captain).
Vyrn: Heheheh… What's up with her?
Lyria: Hmm… Who knows?
Vyrn: Was it something we did?
The crew wonder what could have happened to make Narmaya so attached to (Captain).
One day, before the crew meet Narmaya, they hear about a strange swordmaster who combines magic and swordplay…
Thinking that they could pick up some useful tips from such a unique fighter, the crew head to the savage forest where she dwells…
Vyrn: Hey, Lyria? Are we really gonna find a swordmaster here?
Lyria: If the information we received is correct, they should be here…
Lyria: Ah! There! There's someone over there!
The crew look over to where Lyria is pointing. A woman holding a katana is sitting there, meditating quietly.
Narmaya: ……
Vyrn: Ah! That's the swordmaster! But what is she doing?
Lyria: She's meditating, isn't she? Katalina said that samurai do that when they want to concentrate!
Vyrn: Whoa! So she's the real deal!
Narmaya: Zzzzzz…
Vyrn: Wait… She's sleeping!
Lyria: You're right…
Vyrn: She wasn't concentrating, just having a snooze… Maybe this isn't the swordmaster after all.
Lyria: Hmm… Shall we wake her up? It's dangerous to sleep outside in a place like this…
(Captain) nods, and approaches the sleeping girl, but at that moment…
Narmaya: ……
The girl flickers like smoke, and disappears in a cloud of butterflies.
Vyrn: Wha-? Butterflies? She's gone!
(Captain) and the crew notice a butterfly flying behind them and turn around to look at it. Suddenly the woman appears again.
Narmaya: Good day to you.
Lyria: Ah! Erm… Good day to you too!
Narmaya: What's going on? What are you children doing here? It's dangerous! Are you lost?
Vyrn: Wh-whoa! Is that one of those moves where you combine the sword with magic?
Narmaya: H-huh? I just moved normally…
Lyria: Wha-? You just moved normally? Just by moving you did that?
Vyrn: Whoa, she's really something. I guess that's why they call them "swordmasters"!
Narmaya: Huh? Swordmaster?
Narmaya seems confused, so (Captain) introduces the crew and explains why they've come to see her.
Narmaya: I see… I understand now why you came all this way, but you have me mistaken for someone else.
Vyrn: What? But we just saw you do a crazy move, Butterfly Girl!
Narmaya: I don't understand, I was just moving… And earlier, I tried to meditate, but then I just fell asleep. I'm so inexperienced…
Narmaya: And you keep calling me a "swordmaster," but I've only ever had normal training, just like anyone else!
Vyrn: Well, falling asleep while meditating is a bit bad…
Vyrn: But you're amazing! Being able to do that just by moving is crazy!
Vyrn: You must have done some kind of fancy training, Butterfly Girl! Can you show us?
Narmaya: Erm… OK… but it really is just normal training, you know…
The girl, still confused, takes out her sword. She taps a tree and causes hundreds of leaves to float down.
The sword begins to flicker and shift, forming into other weapons. In the blink of an eye the leaves are torn to shreds.
Lyria: Huh? Wh-what just happened?
Vyrn: Her katana flickered like it was made of smoke… Hey, what did you do?
Narmaya: Huh? What did I do? I just waved my sword… nothing special.
Vyrn: That's normal for you? Just waving your sword and then that happens?
(Captain), confused at Narmaya describing all her actions as "normal," tries to practice in the same way.
But as the leaves floated down, (Captain) can't cut a single one, instead they fan away from each swing.
Vyrn: (Captain) can't do it either, huh? I guess only a famous swordmaster could pull a stunt that crazy!
(Captain) and the crew are glowing with praise for Narmaya's abilities, but she hangs her head in sadness.
Narmaya: Please… stop teasing me. I'm not amazing… I'm not famous…
Narmaya: No one has ever recognized my skills… He won't recognize them…
Narmaya: If I was famous or skilled, he would have come to see me… I know he would…
Lyria: "He"?
Vyrn: Yeah… Hey, Butterfly Girl, you know we're not teasing you, right?
Narmaya: Huh?
Vyrn: Seriously, your skills are crazy awesome! None of us could even dream of doing that thing with the leaves!
Vyrn: We think you're super cool! Right, (Captain)?
(Captain) nods, and tells Narmaya that far from being unrecognized as a swordmaster, everyone admires her skills.
Narmaya: You… you think that about me?
Choose: Of course we do!
Lyria: Of course! Your skills are amazing!
Narmaya: Heehee, you really think so?
Choose: It's embarrassing to admit, but…
Vyrn: Yeah, it's hard, isn't it! She can do impossible moves without breaking a sweat!
Vyrn: That's why you're amazing, Butterfly Girl!
(Captain) nods, and conveyed their appreciation for Narmaya again.

Narmaya: (…They're just like his eyes… Honest and pure…)
Narmaya: You remind me of someone I used to know…
The girl looks at the party with a smile on her face.
Narmaya: Thank you.
Vyrn: Hmm, when you think about it, the reason that she's so attached to (Captain), and all of us, is…
Lyria: It's because we praised her skill and encouraged her, isn't it!
Narmaya: (Captain)! Lyria! Vyrn! Are you OK? Is there anything I can do for you?
Vyrn: Erm… nope, not really… Anyway, we're heading home now, Butterfly Girl!
Narmaya: Oh! Are you going to be all right on your own? The road is dangerous, so I'd better go with you!
Narmaya: Actually, you could probably use my help on your journey! I'd be happy to come!

And so, the swordmaster Narmaya joins the crew on their journey.
The crew sometimes wonder why she fusses over them like a big sister, but they enjoy having her around as a companion.

One day, (Captain) and Lyria find Narmaya being hard on herself, along with a very uncomfortable Vyrn. When Lyria asks what's the matter, Vyrn explains that he spoke too harshly to Narmaya. Lyria suggests that they should make nice at once, so they decide to go into town and have some fun. When Narmaya hears this, she immediately cheers up and goes with the crew.
Narmaya: Now what did I do wrong? Maybe I was standing too close? I guess I was getting a little too familiar with him…
One day, (Captain) and the crew find Narmaya scolding herself.
And standing a little farther away, they find Vyrn with a worried look on his face.
Lyria: Um, Vyrn… What happened?
Vyrn: Butterfly Girl was fussing over me, so I asked her to give me a little space…
Narmaya: I need to be careful what I say… And don't make any strange faces… But even then…
Vyrn: Now she's trying to figure out why I asked her to leave me alone.
Vyrn: It's one thing to be focused on something, but she's too focused.
Lyria: Hmm… Well, I think you just need to make up with each other!
Vyrn: Make up? But we weren't really fighting!
Lyria: That may be, but if we don't do something, she's just going to stay like this.
Lyria: She's always so nice to us, so why don't we show her how thankful we are and go do something with her?

After they leave the town, Narmaya's overbearing behavior worsens. While the crew is acting as escorts for a caravan, a band of hooligans attacks them, but Narmaya quickly puts them away. When one of the merchants sees her skill with a sword, he praises her, saying, “With your skills, you could be a match for Eahta, the eternal!” However, upon hearing this, Narmaya suddenly starts to act strangely.
A few days after training in the monster cave, Narmaya grows closer to (Captain) and the crew.
Narmaya: Hey, (Captain)! Lyria! Would you like me to make you something to eat?
Lyria: Really? That would be great!
Narmaya: Sure, leave everything to me!
One night, a few days later, Narmaya visits the crew's sleeping quarters.
Narmaya: (Captain)! Are you all right sleeping by yourself? Maybe you'd like to sleep in my bed?
Vyrn: Uh, it's all right. (Captain) isn't a kid, after all…
Narmaya: Oh, OK… Well, then I'll see you in the morning. Good night, everyone!
A few days later, Narmaya and the crew are having a meal together.
Narmaya scoops up some rice with a spoon and tries to feed it to Lyria.
Narmaya: Here you go, Lyria! Say, "Ahh!"
Lyria: Uh, "Ahh!"
Narmaya: OK, now I'll take your plates!
Vyrn: You know, she's been fussing over us a bit too much lately. Do you think she's getting worse?
Lyria: Yes, she seems to be getting worse by the day…
Vyrn: She started acting strangely ever since we heard those guys talking about the eternals at the bar.
A few days later, the crew is hired to escort a caravan of merchants.
The caravan has to pass through a territory known for thieves, so they decide to hire protection.
The merchant who hires them has heard rumors about Narmaya's skill and is delighted when the crew takes the job.
Merchant: What good fortune to have such a famous and talented swordmaster for protection! Now we have nothing to worry about!
Narmaya: Maybe you're thinking of someone else. I wouldn't exactly say I'm talented… Or even much of a swordmaster at all…
Merchant: Nonsense! Don't be so modest. It's just a relief to have you on board!
Narmaya: All right…
Even though she is clearly bothered, Narmaya joins the crew in protecting the caravan.
Then, Narmaya and (Captain) spot a band of thieves coming in from just ahead. They ready their weapons.
Narmaya: Here they come! Be on your guard!
Thief 1: Kyahaha! Hand over everything you've got!
Thief 2: Kee hee hee! Leave all your clothes, too!
Thief 3: Hurry up, already! That is, if you value your life!
Merchant: Aiieee! Skyfarers! Swordsman! P-please help us!
Narmaya: (Captain), are you ready?
(Captain) gives her a nod, then they attack the band of thieves.
Narmaya: Hyaa!
Thief 1: Gyaaa!
Thief 2: L-look at how she wields her blade! How the…
Merchant: Incredible! So then the rumors were true!
Merchant: Such skill would even be a match for the katanas of Eahta, the strongest eternal in the sky realm! You are a master swordsman!
Narmaya: !
Narmaya: I can't…
Thief 3: W-what?
Narmaya: I'll never be as good as him… He's never even noticed me…
Narmaya is devastated and stops dead in her tracks.
Thief 2: Huh? I dunno what's going on, but now's our chance!
Narmaya: Aah!
The thief sees an opening and knocks Narmaya's katana away from her.
Thief 2: Not so scary anymore, are you? Now you're going to pay for what you did to my friends!
Lyria: Narmaya! Look out!
In an instant, (Captain) jumps in and counters the blow, then picks up Narmaya's fallen katana.
Thief 2: Urgh…
Vyrn: Butterfly Girl! Are you OK?
Narmaya: I'm so sorry…
Narmaya apologizes as (Captain) hands her the katana.
Narmaya: Yes, I'm fine… I'm so sorry… I can fight, really…
Thief 3: Don't be so sure! All right, boys! Let's get ‘em!
Vyrn: There's more of them! (Captain)! Butterfly Girl! Watch out!
Wavering Spirit: Scene 4
(Captain) and the crew are worried about Narmaya so they ask her to tell them everything. Narmaya reveals that the eternal Eahta is a relative of hers, but he has never given her any recognition, and doesn't even call her by name. The crew consoles her. From that day on, Narmaya's doting behavior worsens but now the crew can at least somewhat understand the reason behind it.
Having beaten the band of thieves, the crew safely escorts the caravan of merchants to town.
The crew receives payment from the merchants and returns to the airship. Meanwhile, they are concerned about Narmaya's condition.
Vyrn: What happened back there, Butterfly Girl? Does it have something to do with how weird you've been acting lately?
Narmaya: I'm sorry. I'll try to figure it out myself…
Lyria: Narmaya, wait! Why can't you just talk to us about it? We're here to support you!
Vyrn: Yeah! We just wanna help, that's all!
Narmaya: Thank you, everyone… All right, well, where should I begin…
Narmaya forces a smile, and after thinking for a moment, begins to tell the crew everything.
Narmaya: When I was young, there was a samurai in my family who I looked up to. I wanted to learn how to use the katanas just like him.
Lyria: So that was the “he” you spoke of earlier…
Narmaya: Yes. Zanba, the greatest katana swordsman in the sky realm. He goes by another name… Eahta, the eternal.
Vyrn: What! That super strong eternal guy? You're related to him?
Narmaya: Distant relatives, yes. I was very young, but we did live together for a time.
Narmaya: When I was little, I wanted him to acknowledge me, so I practiced using the katana day and night.
Narmaya: But he has no interest in the weak. He cares only for the strong.
Narmaya: Now he himself has grown too strong. He's even forgotten his original name, Zanba.
Vyrn: Wow… How strong do you have to get to forget your own name?
Narmaya: He's incredibly powerful. I looked up to him, but I was always too weak so he never cared about me.
Narmaya: It was my dream to have him notice me, so I kept training, never giving up… But still, nothing.
Narmaya: Years passed, and before I realized it, he had left on a quest to learn how to grow even stronger.
Narmaya: No matter how much I fought with my katana, no matter how skilled I became, he never noticed me.

Narmaya: And once he did, he would finally say my name. At least, that's what I believed…

Lyria: Um, thanks, Narmaya.
Narmaya's doting behavior was worsening.

As they talk, (Captain) accidentally spills some water.

The crew is concerned about her, but they know that her determination and drive will never change.

Narmaya saves a young girl from being attacked by monsters. The girl invites Narmaya to a teahouse in town where she chatters happily about her "Grampy." As she's leaving, the girl reveals herself to be Fif of the Eternals, and Narmaya realizes that the "Grampy" she mentioned must be Eahta. Narmaya broods over the fact that Eahta has taken an interest in Fif when he hardly even spared her a passing glance.
Narmaya: Here we go a-shopping! Shopping for the crew!
Narmaya hums as she heads into town to stock up on some everyday items for (Captain)'s crew.
But on her way, she comes across a situation requiring her attention.
Red-Haired Girl: Geez, leave me alone! I'm gonna get ma—
Monsters: Grrr!
A young girl is about to be attacked by monsters.
Narmaya: !
Narmaya unsheathes her sword and vanishes.
Butterflies: ...
Red-Haired Girl: Butterflies?
For a moment, the girl and monsters are entranced by the butterflies fluttering through the air.
And suddenly the battle is over before it even begins.
Narmaya: Farewell, insignificant vermin.
Monster: Graaah!
In a flash, the monsters are all sliced neatly in two. The young girl opens her eyes to find Narmaya standing before her.
Red-Haired Girl: Whoa! What was that?
Narmaya: Are you all right? Were you hurt?
Red-Haired Girl: I'm fine! I don't get hurt—I'm too awesome!
Narmaya: Oh... Should I not have intervened?
Red-Haired Girl: Don't worry about it! You defeated them for me, so I didn't have to get all worn out!
Red-Haired Girl: Thanks, lady!

Narmaya takes the young girl's hand, and they make their way toward the town together.
Once Narmaya is finished with her errand—
She and the girl head into a small teahouse.
Red-Haired Girl: This place is great! They have the best desserts!
Red-Haired Girl: The cake is my favorite! It's super-ultra-mega yummy!
Narmaya: Super-ultra... what?
Red-Haired Girl: One bite and you'll understand! Here, say "Ah!"
Narmaya: A-ah... Nom nom. Mm!
Narmaya: It's melting in my mouth! But it might be a little too sweet for me.
Red-Haired Girl: That's what the tea is for! They go perfectly together!
Red-Haired Girl: Haha. Well I don't really drink it since I don't like bitter stuff, but Grampy drinks it all the time!

The red-haired girl raises her hand cheerfully, and the shopkeep nods, smiling, and heads into the kitchen.
Narmaya: Grampy? Do you come here with your grandfather often?
Red-Haired Girl: Yep! Grampy buys me cake and ice cream all the time!
Narmaya: Hehe. Your grandfather must be very kind.
Red-Haired Girl: Grampy always has a grouchy look on his face, so people think he's mad.
Red-Haired Girl: But he's really nice! He's taken care of me since I was little.
Red-Haired Girl: Oh! Grampy fights with a katana, so I bet you two'd have a lot to talk about!
Narmaya: He must be very dear to you. I've had a lot of fun just hearing you talk about him.

Finally the awkward silence is broken as the shopkeep arrives with Narmaya's tea.

The girl thanks the shopkeep and then notices the sun setting outside the window.
Red-Haired Girl: It's getting dark already? Grampy's gonna be worried! I gotta get home!
Red-Haired Girl: Hey, what's your name? What should I call you?
Narmaya: My name is Narmaya. I belong to a crew led by a person named (Captain).
Red-Haired Girl: Nice to meet you, Narmaya! My name is... Heh heh heh! Listen and be amazed!
Fif: I'm one of the Eternals! My name's Fif!

Narmaya stands in a daze as she watches her go.

The Eternals are known far and wide as the strongest crew in all the skies.
Narmaya has heard rumors about a skyfarer named Fif belonging to this legendary crew.
And according to those rumors, Narmaya's uncle Eahta cares dearly about Fif.
Narmaya: When Fif mentioned her Grampy, she must have been talking about Zanba... Or rather, Eahta...
Narmaya: So I guess she's worth paying attention to... I see...
Narmaya: ...
Lost in thought, Narmaya doesn't even touch the tea sitting on the table in front of her.
My Precious Friend: Scene 2
(Captain) and crew notice that Narmaya has been acting strange recently. Fif comes to visit, and the crew realizes that Narmaya's odd behavior was caused by the two's teahouse talk about Eahta. They find Narmaya training on the mountain where they first met her, lamenting her own weakness. (Captain) shakes her in an attempt to snap her out of it, and Fif gets angry at her for hating herself and challenges her to battle.
The next day, the crew notices that Narmaya is acting strangely.
Lyria: Is Narmaya still asleep?
Vyrn: Usually she'd be up and fussing over us already.
Worried, (Captain) heads to Narmaya's room and reaches to open the door.
But just as the captain is about to touch the knob, the door opens to reveal Narmaya standing there.
Narmaya: Oh? (Captain)?
Lyria: Narmaya, are you okay? You're not sick or anything, are you?
Narmaya: No, I'm feeling just fine! I'm feeling so well, in fact, that I overslept a bit.
Narmaya: But more importantly, did you all eat breakfast? Or shall I whip something up?
Vyrn: Hahaha. Same ol' Butterfly Girl.
Vyrn is relieved, but (Captain) can't shake the feeling that there's something off about Narmaya's behavior.
After that day, Narmaya's condition seems to improve. A lot.
Be it monster hunting, shopping, or guarding a client, she handles every request with speed and finesse.
Narmaya: (Captain), (Captain)! Is there anything I can help with?
Vyrn: What the heck! What about that mission you just accepted?
Narmaya: The monster hunting mission? Hehe. I already took care of it!
Vyrn: Seriously? But thanks to you, we're all outta requests.

The following day, the crew make their way toward Narmaya's room.
But they have a sudden unexpected visitor.
Fif: I'm here!
Vyrn: Whoa! W-who's there!
Lyria: Fif? What brings you here?

Fif is a member of the Eternals.
She is an extremely powerful mage who joined the strongest crew in all the skies on Eahta's recommendation.
(Captain) crossed paths with her previously while working to awaken a revenant weapon.
Since then, Fif comes to visit the Grandcypher from time to time.
Fif: I came to hang out with Narmaya! I told her I would!
Lyria: You know Narmaya?
Fif: Yeah! She helped me out the other day. And then we talked about our families and got to know each other!
Fif: Hehehe. I bragged about Grampy a whole bunch!
Vyrn: Grampy? Are you talking about Eahta?
Fif: Yeah, of course! I only have the one Grampy!
Lyria: U-um, Fif... You mentioned that you and Narmaya talked about your families. When was that?
Fif tilts her head to one side and recounts the day she met Narmaya.
It was the same day that Narmaya started acting strangely.
Vyrn: Think that's the problem?
Fif: Huh? What? What's wrong? Did something happen?
Seeming to sense something wrong, Fif bombards the crew with questions, her voice full of worry.
(Captain) decides to explain the situation to her.
The captain tells Fif about Narmaya's relationship to Eahta, as well as about Narmaya's recent strange behavior. Fif's shoulders slump.
Fif: Is that true? So Narmaya's uncle is my Grampy?
Vyrn: Yeah...
Fif: No way! But Grampy's super nice!
Fif: He's not some bully who'd ignore Narmaya!
Lyria: But Narmaya doesn't seem like someone who would lie...
Fif: I didn't mean that! I could tell that just by talking to her! Narmaya's not a liar!
Vyrn: Huh? You're kinda contradicting yourself...
Fif: It's all a bunch of jumbo mumbo! I'm so confused!
Fif: Argh! I'll just go talk to Narmaya myself! That'll be the fastest way to sort all this out!
The captain nods and heads toward Narmaya's room with Fif.
(Captain) and the others approach Narmaya's room.
Lyria: Huh?
But it's empty.
At first (Captain) thinks Narmaya may have simply gone out on an errand.
But seeing the katana lying on top of the neatly made bed, the captain feels a sense of dread.
Narmaya has never once left her katana behind.
Lyria: I-I'm going to go look for her!
Fif: Me too! Let's go, (Captain)!
The crew searches the ship for Narmaya, but she's nowhere in sight.
Lyria: Oh no. Where could she be?
Fif: Hmm, (Captain), can you think of anywhere Narmaya might have gone?
Choose: Maybe she went to my room?
Vyrn: She does go there a lot. But she wasn't there when we looked earlier.
There is a moment of silence, and then (Captain) suddenly remembers something.
(Captain) tells the others that Narmaya might have gone to the place where they first met her.
Choose: Oh...
Vyrn: Oh? Do you have an idea?
(Captain) tells the others that Narmaya might have gone to the place where they first met her.

The crew head to the mountain where they met Narmaya.
When they reach the mountain, an unbelievable scene awaits them.
The trees in the area have been snapped in two, and there are deep gouges in the ground.
And standing amidst what looks like the aftermath of a storm is none other than Narmaya.
Fif: Hey, Narmaya!
Narmaya: Fif... Everyone...
Narmaya: Oh... I'm sorry for leaving without telling you...
Vyrn: You should be sorry! We were worried about you! Why didn't you say anything?
Narmaya: I did a lot of thinking... and I realized I can't just leave things the way they are now.
Narmaya: So I decided to come back to this mountain and start over from square one.

Fif raises her staff and begins to channel magic.
Vyrn: H-hang on! Calm down, Fif!
Fif: I can't calm down! Everyone's gonna keep being sad if nothing changes! And I don't want that!
Narmaya: Fif...
Fif: I'm gonna fight with all I've got, so you better do the same, Narmaya!
Fif: If you don't, I can't promise you won't get hurt!
Realizing that there's no use trying to stop Fif, (Captain) tosses Narmaya her katana.
Narmaya catches the sword and draws it from its scabbard, her face full of confusion.
My Precious Friend: Scene 3
Fif and Narmaya's fierce battle comes to a halt as Narmaya falls to one knee. Fif insists that Narmaya will never become strong as long as she continues to hate herself. Narmaya comes to the realization that, even if she is unable to acknowledge herself, (Captain) and the crew acknowledge her. Having found new resolve, she battles Fif once more.
Fif: Huff... Whew...
Narmaya: Huff... Urgh...
Narmaya, bewildered, does nothing but dodge Fif's attacks at first.
Finally Narmaya begins to fight back, intending to bring an end to the relentless assault, but the battle continues for quite some time.
Fif's magic transforms the terrain around them, as trees are blown away and the ground is opened up beneath their feet.
Narmaya swings her katana as she flits about like a butterfly, avoiding each and every one of Fif's cataclysmic attacks.
With a sound like the crack of a whip, a cloud floating high above them is split in two from the force of Narmaya's blow.
Vyrn and Lyria: ...
The crew watches the intense battle, speechless. There is a pause as Narmaya falls to one knee.
Fif: Whew! Okay! Do you get it now?
Narmaya: Haha. Yes... I get it...
Narmaya: I'm weak... Completely hopeless...
Fif: Grrr!
Fif: You don't get it at all, Narmaya!
Fif: I'm strong, but you're strong too!
Fif: (Captain) and the others agree! Couldn't you guys tell by watching our fight?
Vyrn: You're both crazy strong...
Fif: Yeah! Thanks! But Narmaya's weak because she won't stop hating herself!

Narmaya: (I've been too focused on Zanba all this time.)

A few days after Narmaya and Fif's battle, (Captain) and the others ask Narmaya about her history with Eahta. Narmaya tells them that she devoted herself to her training in order to be like Eahta—previously known as Zanba—but he never even took notice of her. Meanwhile, Fif talks to Eahta about meeting with Narmaya, and Eahta mentions something about having a proper talk and heads off somewhere.
A few days have passed since Narmaya and Fif's battle.
Fif decides to make a small detour on her way to speak with Eahta.
Fif: I feel like Narmaya's talking about a whole different Grampy from the one I know... It just doesn't add up...
Fif: But Grampy plays dumb sometimes, so even if I ask him, he might not tell me...
Fif: I know! Anre! I'll go talk to Anre!
Anre, founder of the Eternals, is an old friend of Eahta's.
Fif heads off to find Anre, believing that everything will be cleared up once she talks to him.

The next day, Lyria goes to find Narmaya.
Lyria: Narmaya, you got a letter! Siero gave it to me to give to you!
Narmaya: A letter for me?
Vyrn: Hey! Think it's from Eahta?
Narmaya: W-what? D-do you think so?
Narmaya: Oh my... I'm all nervous now.
Narmaya: Will you read it with me, (Captain)?
(Captain) nods, opening the envelope and taking out the letter.
They anxiously begin to read, but as they make their way through the contents of letter, their expressions gradually harden.
Narmaya: What...

Vyrn: W-what's wrong? It's not from Eahta?
Narmaya: No, it's definitely from him...
Vyrn: Then why're you so freaked out? Don't tell me he doesn't want to meet you...

(Captain) nods and heads toward the location written in the letter along with Fif and the crew.

(Captain) and Fif interrupt Narmaya and Eahta's silent battle. After being lectured by Fif, Narmaya confesses that all she ever wanted was for Zanba to call her name, and Eahta reveals that he only challenged Narmaya to a duel because he thought it was what she wanted. Having finally told Eahta how she felt, Narmaya resolves to surpass him and challenges him to battle once more.

Eahta and Narmaya face each other and draw their katanas in unison.
An instant later they have both vanished, and the sound of steel on steel echoes across the plains.
As they swing their swords, not a single word is spoken.
Narmaya: ...!
Narmaya parries a heavy blow that otherwise would have cut her in half.
The slashes continue for several hours without a single moment of respite, and Narmaya's expression gradually darkens.
Narmaya: (I finally get to see you again, but...)
Eahta: Hyaaah!

After enjoying some pleasant conversation, Fif and Eahta stand to leave, and Narmaya smiles brightly as Eahta calls her by name. Finally able to move forward, Narmaya soars toward even greater heights, together with her companions who love her so.
Narmaya and Eahta hold nothing back as they cross blades, their strikes even more intense than before.
(Captain) and the others are entranced by their fierce, yet beautiful, battle.
Vyrn: Hahaha... So in the end, they're still fighting.
Fif: Sigh... I don't know what to do with those two.
Lyria: But... They look like they're having fun.
Fif: Yeah, you're right... Grampy looks like he does when he's playing with me.
Vyrn: And Butterfly Girl looks like she does when she's fussing over us.
Seeing Narmaya's face, (Captain) smiles.
The fight continues until the sun sets.
A few days have passed since the battle between Narmaya and Eahta.
Narmaya arrives at the teahouse she went to previously with Fif.
