Balmy Breeze and Foamy Deep - Opening

The fisherman Kaz saves Jin, who has collapsed from hunger. Hearing of the deliciousness of the bonito, Jin decides to try and catch it in place of Kaz, who is in poor physical health.

Summer has come to Auguste, and the shore is crowded with tourists eager for a dip in the ocean.
Standing apart from the masses on the shoreline is a lone samurai.
Jin: So this is the sea that I've heard so much about.
Jin: Magnificence such as this demands to be witnessed.
Any version of Sara (Light) is a crew member

Jin: Perhaps even Sara's spirits would be eased by the sight.
Jin: However...
Jin: I'm famished. It took longer than anticipated to travel here from the last island, after all.
Jin: One cannot fight on an empty stomach. I must stop and eat somewhere!
Jin: This restaurant's full, too, and the street vendors outside all have long lines.
Jin: I grow weak. If this continues much longer, I'm finished!
Jin: Food... I need... food...
Unsteady on his feet, Jin arrives at a rocky area with few people.
Jin: Urgh...
Jin collapses on the beach from hunger.
???: Huh, what's a person doing in a place like this? Hey, are you all right?
Jin: Hrrgrah?
Jin: Where in the sky am I?
???: Finally come to your senses, eh? You had me worried sick!
Jin: And who might you be, good sir?
Kaz: Me? I'm just a humble fisherman. The name's Kaz.
Kaz: I found you collapsed on the beach with heat stroke, so I brought you back to my home.
Jin: You saved me? My sincerest apologies for the trouble!
Jin bows deeply before Kaz.
Kaz: I don't suppose you're hungry?
Jin: Terribly sorry! I couldn't possibly impose on you any further!
Kaz: Bwahaha! Hunger's just proof you're feeling better! Rest a spell. I'll be right back.
Kaz leaves the room where Jin is resting and comes back carrying a tray full of food.
Kaz: Sorry to say, but this is all I've got.
Jin: No need to apologize. I didn't mean to impose.
Kaz: Bwahaha! Stop making such a fuss and eat up already!
Jin: You have my thanks.
Jin: Munch... munch...
Jin: Delicious! What manner of cuisine is this?
Kaz: I'd hardly call it cuisine. Just some leftover fish on rice with a little fish stock.
Jin: Not at all. This is the first time I've had the privilege of tasting such a delicacy!
Kaz: I'm glad to hear you like it! It's not very often someone compliments my cooking!
Kaz: It really isn't anything special though. This time of year, what you really want to try is bonito!
Jin: Bonito, you say? You mean to tell me there's a fish even more delicious than this one?
Kaz: They don't even compare! Word around these parts is a cut of bonito's enough to bring a man back from the dead.
Jin: Oh my.
Kaz: But fishermen capable of catching bonito are few and far between these days.
Kaz: I would like to be the one catching it, but my time is running out. No, I shouldn't be pessimistic.
Kaz: By the way, did you want seconds? There's plenty left still!
Jin: Much appreciated. I humbly request one more bowl, if you will.
Kaz: Just one more? Don't be bashful, now! You need all the energy you can get at your age!
Kaz takes an empty bowl in his hand and heads for the kitchen with a bright smile on his face. But then...
Kaz: Aargh...
Kaz suddenly staggers and falls to his knees.
Jin: Kaz! What's wrong?
Kaz: It's nothing, just took a little tumble. Hardly worth worrying about... Cough!
Kaz: Hack, cough!
Jin: I beg to differ! I'll call a doctor!
Jin places Kaz in his bed and runs to the nearby clinic.
After the doctor finishes treating him, Kaz's condition quickly improves.
Jin: Kaz, according to the doctor, all those years of fishing have come at grave cost to your body.
Jin: You grow weak. The more you push yourself, the worse the attacks will become.
Jin: Which means...
Kaz: Are you telling me I have to give up my dream of catching a bonito?
Kaz: I know there's no way to fight getting old, but fishing is my life.
Jin: Kaz...
Kaz: I really wanted to catch a bonito for you, Jin.
Jin: ...
Jin: Kaz, I humbly request the chance to become your apprentice!
Kaz: My... apprentice?
Jin: I would like to try and catch the great bonito in your stead!
Kaz: ...!
Jin has accepted the challenge of capturing a bonito.
Will his efforts to catch such a mighty denizen of the sea end in stunning success... or bitter failure?
