Just Like a Child

Zehek feels bad when his attempts to avoid Mishra's caprices hurt her feelings. To make amends, he brings her some rare herbs she had been seeking.

The Grandcypher sails peacefully through the skies, until one day...
Zehek: ...
Vyrn: What's the deal with Zehek? Is he playin' hide-and-seek or something?
Lyria: Maybe he isn't feeling well... We'd better check!
Vyrn: Hey, what's with the hiding? You hurt or something?
Zehek: No... No need to worry yourself over me.
Mishra's Voice: Zehek? Zehek, where are you?
Lyria: Hm?
It sounds like Mishra's calling you, Zehek.
Vyrn: Aren't you gonna answer her?
Zehek: Urgh...
Mishra: Zehek! What in blazes are you doing here? I've been searching up and down for you.
Mishra: What's the matter with you, Zehek? Your heart rate seems all out of sorts. Let's take a look at you.
Zehek: Save it... You're my master, not my doctor.
Mishra: Oh, brr. Chilly as ever. And here I thought we were so close.
Vyrn: Yeah! Now that you're finally reunited with your old teacher, why act all distant?
Zehek: That's not what I—Cough!
Mishra: You were quite the sickly young sprog when I took you in.
Mishra: You'd not be gallivanting around with this lot if it weren't for the treatment I gave you!
Mishra: Quit your brooding! You've been in my care before, haven't you?
Zehek: Yes... Made to drink strange potions and play laboratory rat for you more like—Cough!
Mishra: Is that how it was? My memory seems to have failed me.
Zehek: Master... I am not some toy for you to play with!
Zehek: Cough... After all the time we spent together, I'm well aware that nothing good will ever come of our association!
Mishra: Oh, my... To hear my dearest student speak so...
Mishra: Forgive me. I've always meddled a bit too much, I know. I must mend my ways...
Zehek: ...
Vyrn: Hey! Are you just gonna let her go off like that?
Lyria: She looked pretty hurt...
Zehek: ...
Zehek: Cough!
Vyrn: Hey! Are you sure you should be out in the evening breeze like this?
Zehek: I'm fine... Did you require something?
Vyrn: We were thinkin' you might be hung up on what happened with Mishra.
Zehek: Ah...
Zehek: No, I'm not!
Zehek: Why would I... be worried...
Lyria: Huh? Those herbs you're holding... aren't those the ones Mishra was looking for?
Zehek: That... is pure coincidence!
Vyrn: Haha... Then what are we doing standing around, (Captain)?
(Captain) and the others drag Zehek off in search of Mishra.
Mishra: Hoho! This is quite the shock! Such rare herbs, all for my unworthy sake...
Lyria: Oh good! Mishra likes your gift, Zehek!
Zehek: Cough...
Vyrn: Aww! Zehek, are you blushing?
Mishra: Oh, Zehek... You haven't changed since you were a boy.
Mishra: Hehe. For all the running he did from my treatments, guess who came slinking back because he was too scared to sleep alone...
Lyria: Wow! We're learning all sorts of things about you, Zehek!
Zehek: Gah! When did I ever? Don't go making up things that never happened!
Mishra: Ohohoho! What's wrong, my dear? Is that a thumpity-thump-thump I hear?
Mishra: I can't contain myself. You are simply too adorable!
Zehek: Master! I wish you would stop! How many times must I tell you I am not your playthi—cough!
Mishra: Ahahaha! Oh, fine.
Mishra: With these herbs you brought me, I can start working on a potion for you.
Mishra: Hm... Lyria! Vyrn! Bring these to my lab, on the double.
Vyrn: Whoa! Where's the fire?
Lyria: Meep! You mean these? Wait no, these?
Zehek: This is bad. We have to get out of here! Run, (Captain)!
Vyrn: What's that supposed to mean? Why do we hafta run?
Mishra: Ohoho... This is simply too exciting! These herbs contain a very special ingredient, you see...
Mishra: If I crossbreed them using a special, that's not quite right. They need to be further refined... Hmm...
Mishra: What are you doing standing around? Zehek, prepare that for me. And you, (Captain)! I need you here!
Zehek, (Captain), and the others are pulled kicking and screaming into Mishra's overzealous cosmetic research.
But at least the crew finally understands Zehek's hang-ups surrounding his mentor a little better.
