Star-Cross'd Lovers

The party go to visit Lord Montague of the fortress city of Verona. Not having permission to enter the city, they are chased by the guards. Luckily, they are saved by a soldier named Romeo. (Captain) and the crew learn of the feud tearing the city of Verona in two, and are taken to Verona Cathedral.

The crew pays a visit to the Montague district of Verona.
However, they are stopped at a checkpoint known as the Breach in the Wall for not having the appropriate entry permits.
A member of the Montague military by the name of Romeo leads them away.
Vyrn: All right. So where are you taking us?
Romeo: Verona Cathedral. That's where you'll be able to get permission to enter the city.
Lyria: Really? Thank you very much!
Mercutio: You're really lucky to have run into us, you know.
Vyrn: But why did you even help us in the first place?
Romeo: Oh, I don't know. No reason that I can think of.
Mercutio: Get a load of Mr. Cool over here. He was definitely mulling it over in that head of his though.
Lyria: Is that so?
Mercutio: No ones knows how this guy's brain works better than I do.
Romeo: Give it a rest, Mercutio.
Mercutio: I'm just telling the truth, Romeo.
Vyrn: Okay, okay. No need to get all heated over this.
Romeo: Don't worry. We're always like this.
Mercutio: Yep. We razz each other a lot, but it's all right 'cause we're buddies.
Lyria: Heehee, I can see how well you two get along. It's almost as if you could finish each other's sentences.
Mercutio: Right? It only looks like we're fighting.
Mercutio: Romeo didn't help you out on a whim. He had a feeling about you guys.
Romeo: Sigh. Does this conversation really need to drag on?
Mercutio: What? These lovely people seemed interested in knowing more is all.
Romeo: No, I'm pretty sure you're the one who's the most interested.
Romeo shrugs with resignation and explains his actions.
Romeo: I wouldn't call it a reason necessarily.
Romeo: If you had tried to force your way in at the Breach, things would've gotten messy.
Romeo: But I know now you wouldn't have tried that. You were innocent all along. That's all.
Vyrn: Wow, you really thought about all that when we were at the checkpoint?
Vyrn: Well, I guess we did kick up a bit of a fuss. Sorry about that!
Romeo: No, I'm the one who should apologize. You kind of came at a time when the whole town's on edge.
Lyria: I'm still glad you decided to trust us. Right, (Captain)?
Romeo: In any case you people are blameless. The real problem is that wall...
Romeo cranes his head upward at the towering structure.
Romeo: Walls only divide the people, sowing discord and chaos.
Vyrn: But the bigwigs in this country still built 'em anyway.
Romeo: Yes. This wall was erected eleven years ago after we experienced a war.
Lyria: What kind of war?
Romeo: A war with the neighboring Capulets over the right to rule.
Romeo: It's been tense between Montagues and Capulets ever since.
Romeo: We've tried to strengthen relations, but occasional outbreaks of violence still happen.
Mercutio: And that's why it's up to us Montague city guards to make sure those Capulets don't stir up trouble!
Vyrn: It must be tough knowing a fight's always just around the corner...
Mercutio: Well, my stress is nothing compared to Romeo's.
Vyrn: Oh yeah, you guys are commanders. That ain't easy.
Romeo: No, I'm just a regular. Mercutio is a commanding officer.
Vyrn: Huh... I don't get any authority vibes from him though.
Lyria: Me neither. Didn't one of the guards call you a prince, Romeo?
Mercutio: Oho, good ears! We just met, but I'll spill the beans.
Romeo: That's enough, Mercutio.
Mercutio ignores Romeo and continues.
Mercutio: He might not look like it, but Romeo's actually the heir to the Montague throne!
Vyrn: Ooh... So that means—
Lyria: That means he's going to be the ruler?
Vyrn: Whoaaa!
Mercutio: Bingo! Now that's the reaction I was looking for!
Romeo: Don't speak carelessly, Mercutio. How many times do I have to tell you that?
Mercutio: Sure, but you trust these guys, don't you?
Romeo: That's not the point.
Vyrn: Um... If you're the future ruler, then why are you just a regular guard?
Mercutio: Haha! That's the million-rupie question! It's Romeo being Romeo, you see.
Mercutio: Get this. He told me that in order to command an army, you've got to understand what it's like for each and every soldier.
Romeo: I told you to stop, Mercutio.
Mercutio: Even though his father wanted to thrust him into a commanding role, Romeo stood by his convictions and joined the ranks.
Mercutio: But from the soldiers' point of view, how are you going to do your job when the boss is right there with you?
Vyrn: Yeah, I'd be super nervous all the time...
Mercutio: And his personality really didn't help either. The troops were on edge.
Mercutio: So he came to me and asked me to take the leadership role above him.
Mercutio: I'm just doing this as a favor, you know. I'm not really the leader type.
Romeo: I don't remember asking you as such.
Mercutio: He hates it when I call him Prince Romeo by accident.
Romeo: Whatever... I'm done talking to you.
Mercutio: Yeah? In that case I've got lots of juicy secrets to share.
Mercutio: You'd never guess it by looking at him, but Romeo's into—
Romeo: Stop! That's absolutely off-limits! You say anymore, and I'll really get angry!
Lyria: Uh-oh, they're fighting again, aren't they, (Captain)?
Vyrn: Eh, I guess. Fights can be healthy for a relationship though.
Mercutio: My thoughts exactly! But he can get pretty scary sometimes...
Mercutio: So I think I'll just leave him be for now.
Romeo: Hey. Mercutio.
Mercutio: You rang?
Romeo: We're almost there. Cut the chatter and get over here.
Thanks to the guidance of Romeo and Mercutio, the crew soon arrives at Verona Cathedral.
