SIEGFRIED - Chapter 2: Disaster - Episode 1

Concerned about the orphanage where they grew up near Burgundy, Arthur and Mordred disobey orders and head out on their own. They are attacked by monsters en route, but Siegfried saves them on his way to investigate the incident in Burgundy alone. The pair beg to come along, so Siegfried decides to test their strength by having them battle a group of monsters.

Meanwhile in the royal capital, King Carl has issued a direct order to Lancelot to address the disturbance in Burgundy.
Captain Lancelot and Vice-Captain Vane discuss their strategy for the upcoming battle.
Lancelot: While I lead the White Dragons to Burgundy, I'll have you handle the defense of the capital.
Vane: You got it! Leave it to me!
As Lancelot and Vane discuss their strategy, Siegfried appears in their midst.
Siegfried: Lancelot, Vane. Could I have a moment?
Lancelot: Certainly!
Siegfried: I'd like to infiltrate Burgundy alone to survey the situation. Would that be all right?
Lancelot: Of course it would! In fact, that would be a great help! Right, Vane?
Vane: You said it! Knowing Siegfried, he'll settle everything before the White Dragons even get there!
Siegfried: Heh... Much obliged. I hope I'll be able to live up to your expectations.
Siegfried turns to see the knights-in-training who had been given orders to remain on standby in the capital.
Tornelio: I wonder what the disaster is? Sounds scary...
Cruz: Yeah...
Henry: Well, we'll be on standby in the capital, so I'm sure we'll be fine.
Arthur and Mordred stand at a distance from the other knights-in-training, deep in what appears to be a serious discussion.
Arthur: Burgundy... That's close to the orphanage, isn't it?
Mordred: Yeah... I hope everyone's safe.
Arthur: I wonder if the sister and kids are okay...
Mordred: I'm sure they'll be fine as soon as the White Dragons get there. But still...
Siegfried: ...
A little ways outside the capital, a pair of knights run at full speed.
Arthur: Huff... Huff...
Mordred: Huff... Huff...
Arthur: Phew! I'm worn out from all that running!
Mordred: I think we'll be okay here.
Arthur and Mordred have disobeyed their orders to remain on standby and snuck out of the royal capital unawares.
Arthur: We're definitely gonna get chewed out...
Mordred: Yeah, no doubt about it.
Arthur: Sigh... I hate getting yelled at.
Mordred: Quit getting all depressed over a hypothetical lecture!
Mordred: If you can't handle being griped at, you're free to head back now while I go alone!
Arthur: No...
Mordred: Then what's it going to be?
Arthur: I hate getting yelled at, but I'd hate it even more if something happened to anybody at the orphanage!
Mordred: Yeah, I agree. So stop hesitating.
Arthur: Yeah... You're right.
Mordred: Come on, we need to hurry.
Arthur: Right!
After pulling themselves together, Arthur and Mordred continue on their way to the orphanage where they were raised.
But suddenly a monster appears, blocking their path.
Monster: Grrr...
Mordred: Out of the way!
Arthur: Sorry, we're in a hurry here!
Monster: Grargh...
The pair take down the monster with a magnificent joint strike.
Arthur: ...
Mordred: Hey, what are you doing, Arthur?
Arthur: Well, I was just wondering if we spooked it by wandering into its turf...
Mordred: Sigh... There you go again...
Arthur: But...
Mordred: No buts—
Monster: Groooar!
Mordred: Oh no...
Arthur: Mordred!
While Arthur and Mordred are in the midst of a silly argument, another monster attacks from behind.
Monster: Grah...
Siegfried: It's important to know that these monsters move in packs.
Arthur & Mordred: Siegfried!
Siegfried: What happened to those moves during training earlier? Were those just flukes?
Arthur: Well, you see... All we did was let our guard down a little...
Siegfried: Do you think monsters will wait around for you to pull yourselves together?
Siegfried: This isn't training. There'll be no time for regrets after you've lost your lives.
Mordred: Um...
Siegfried: What is it?
Mordred: Y-you're not going to yell at us for leaving the capital against orders?
Siegfried stares at their faces for a moment before answering with a sigh.
Siegfried: You'll still go even if I try to stop you, won't you?
Arthur: Yes, sir!
Mordred: You idiot! Don't tell him!
Arthur: Oh, right!
Mordred turns to face Siegfried, his expression serious.
Mordred: The truth is, the orphanage where we grew up is close to Burgundy.
Arthur: We were so worried that we couldn't stand it, so we decided to head there on our own.
Siegfried: An orphanage, huh.
Arthur and Mordred exchange glances before bowing their heads before Siegfried once again.
Arthur: Siegfried! Will you take us with you?
Mordred: Please! Don't worry, we won't get in your way!
Having heard their desperate pleas, Siegfried responds with a no-nonsense expression on his face.
Siegfried: I guess it would be better for me to accompany you to the orphanage rather than sending you on your own.
Arthur: Siegfried!
Mordred: Thank you!
Siegfried: But I can't have you losing to monsters like that last one.
Arthur & Mordred: Okay...
Siegfried: Also, there's something I forgot to tell you.
Siegfried: After you defeat one of those monsters from earlier, you need to leave the area immediately.
Monster: Grrr...
Siegfried: Otherwise its friends will smell blood and gather like so...
Arthur & Mordred: ...!
Siegfried: Just the reaction I was hoping for.
Siegfried: Now then... Let's see if you have what it takes to join me on my way.
Siegfried: I'll let you two prove yourselves by defeating those things on your own.
Arthur & Mordred: Yes, sir!
Siegfried: Heh... If you can't handle these guys, I'll have you return to the capital like good little boys.
Mordred: Come on, Arthur! We can't lose, no matter what!
Arthur: Right! Let's win this, Mordred!

SIEGFRIED - Chapter 2: Disaster - Episode 1: Scene 2

Arthur and Mordred manage to defeat the monsters, and Siegfried awards them with a barely passing grade. The three then begin making their way toward Burgundy together.

Arthur & Mordred: Huff... Huff...
Siegfried: Hmm... That took a little too long, but I suppose you barely scrape by with a passing grade.
Arthur: Yeesh. What happened to all those compliments you gave us back at the training grounds? You don't pull any punches...
Siegfried: That goes without saying. The moment you set foot outside the capital, there's no one else to protect you.
Siegfried: At the very least, you have to be able to protect yourself.
Mordred: Heh! Sounds good to me! While Arthur's dragging his feet, I'll use this journey to hone my skills!
Arthur: What! I'm not dragging my feet! I'll improve by leaps and bounds too—you just wait and see!
Siegfried: If you two are going to keep chatting, then I'll go on ahead.
Siegfried increases his speed, leaving Arthur and Mordred behind.
Arthur: Hey! Wait for us!
Mordred: We're coming!
And so Arthur, Mordred, and Siegfried make their way toward the region of Burgundy.
