An odachi said to be taken from the tail of a monstrous serpent long ago. Be that truth or myth, its blade has been thoroughly honed and polished to a beautiful enchanting luster, as if to cleanse an evil that once tainted it. The weapon is a symbol of valor and courage, meant to be wielded only by a true hero. A single swing stirs up a divine gust of wind, exemplifying the odachi's spiritual properties.

Trivia

  • Named after Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi (草薙の剣), a legendary Japanese sword and one of three Imperial Regalia of Japan. It was originally called Ame-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi (天叢雲剣, "Heavenly Sword of Gathering Clouds"), but its name was later changed to the more popular Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi ("Grass-Cutting Sword"). In folklore, the sword represents the virtue of valor and is credited as being the sword used by Susanoo to defeat Yamata-no-Orochi. In-game, the sword was previously used by a wanderer to defeat a giant serpent monster also called Orochi.
