HP
Hit points (HP) represent the health of characters. When a character's hit points drop to 0, the character gets knocked out and ejected from battle. Defeated allies will be replaced by available sub allies.
When all allies have been ejected from battle, the battle is lost. Allies who have been knocked can be revived using items such

Maximum HP for allies can be increased with Weapon Skills, Summon Auras, and Plus Marks.
Alternative Uses
Skills, sword master skills, summon calls, and charge attacks can consume HP as a resource as a requirement to activate, or to provide additional effects. See Consume HP for further information.
The Vitality weapon skill provides a boost to ATK, DEF, and DMG Cap based on a character's max HP.
Max HP Modifiers
The formula to determine a character's max HP is as follows:

A character will always have a minimum of 1 HP before Fixed HP Boosts are applied.
- Base HP is the sum of all equipped weapons and summons' HP stats. A character's Base HP is displayed underneath their portrait on the party screen.
- Boosts to HP that do not include a
%will add to this value, such as Extended Mastery Perks, Awakening Bonuses, Over Mastery, etc.
- Boosts to HP that do not include a
- Plus Marks can be equipped to characters, weapons, and summons and provide a flat +1 boost to Base HP per Plus Mark.
- Befoulment % is the sum of all HP Cut Befoulments of equipped Odious weapons. The maximum reduction is 90%.
- Character Passive Reduction % is a reduction to Max HP specified by a character passive such as
Azazel's
Brazen Wings50% hit to max HP.

Caps Light damage taken at 5,000 per hit.. - Grid Reduction % is a reduction to Max HP from weapon skills such as Tyranny and
Chain of TemptationAt start of battle: Various buffs to all allies / 30% hit to max HP.. The maximum reduction is 70%.
- Character Passive Reduction and Grid Reduction are additive with each other up to an effective maximum of 100%.
- Grid HP % is the boost provided by weapon skills and weapon awakenings. The maximum boost is 400%.
- HP Overskill is a multiplicative boost to Grid HP that is gained when Grid HP % is above 400%. The maximum boost is 20%.
- Other includes all other boosts to HP which are additive with one another, such as:

- A Bellum Summon and an HP boosting Arcarum Summon will not stack and only the largest boost will effect. However, a Bellum Summon and an HP boosting Arcarum Ring of Rate will stack. Arcarum Summons and Rings of Fate will not stack.

At 100%, leaves 1 max HP is a debuff that can be inflicted by enemies and allies. The strength depend on the source, but can stack to up to 100% total; however a character will always retain at least 1 HP.
