Shadowverse: Duelist of Eternity - Opening

General Furias's experiments cause an explosion, opening holes into a distant world. When a girl from that world named Luna is swallowed by the hole, another girl named Arisa jumps in to save her.

Furias: All right then! Onto the next experiment. This time double the load of dark essence on our specimen.
Furias is inside an imperial research facility deep in the mountains.
There he is experimenting on a peculiar stone that has recently been unearthed.
Imperial Soldier: General, if I may be so bold, a spike in the load on the specimen could—
Furias: Pardonne-moi? Are you whining about my way of doing things?
Imperial Soldier: No! No, of course not. But given that we don't know what might—
Furias: Exactly! That's what's so thrilling! The more that pops out, the more fun we have!
Furias: Oh, or are you trying to tell me you want to jump into that hole? Would that experiment interest you more?
Imperial Soldier: ...!
Furias: Go! Get a move on it!
Imperial Soldier: As you command.
Furias turns his eyes to the stone, which shines a pale blue.
The dark essence is making it shine progressively brighter.
Furias: Ooh! Ha-ha-ha! I've got a feeling about this. Raise the load some moore!
Imperial Soldier: Agh... Agh!
Furias: Snort! Ha-ha-ha-ha! What's next, what's next?
Furias: Hm?
???: An anomaly in the Morning Star...
A somber priestess lifts her eyes to the Morning Star, a mysterious formation in the sky.
???: The almighty Nexus alone is permitted to touch the Morning Star. Who would dare to do this?
???: Who would bring forth new sorrows into the world?
The priestess turns her gaze to a young girl.
???: Aaaah!
???: Talk about scary! What was that noise?
Arisa, an elf girl, is training to become a forest guardian.
Arisa: It didn't seem like thunder—
Arisa: But never mind that. I have to find Losaria!
Arisa left the woods to recover Losaria, a close friend who was kidnappped by mysterious creatures known as shades.
As she gazes up at the ominous clouds, Arisa hears an aggravated voice.
Young Girl's Voice: You're bad! Stay away from me!
Monster: Roaaar!
Arisa: That sound! It's one of the creatures that took Losaria! It might be going after someone.
Arisa: I'm going to help you. Hold on!
Young Girl: Mother! Father! Come on!
Monster: Roaaar!
Arisa: No way!
Arisa sees the creature attacking a small girl and shoots.
Monster: Roaaar!
Arisa: Phew. Are, uh, you all right?
Luna: Hi! My name's Luna. Did you come here to help me?
Luna: Uh-huh, uh-huh.
Luna: Oh, it was because I'm a good girl!
Arisa: Uh... It doesn't look like you're hurt, Luna.
Luna: Yeah, I'm fine!
Luna: Hey, Mother and Father! What about her?
Luna: Ah-ha-ha! You're right!
Arisa: (Who is she talking with?)
Luna: Hey, do you want to come on my adventure?
Arisa: Adventure?
Arisa: Okay, sure!
Luna: Yaaay!
Arisa: There are monsters out here, and you could get hurt. We should go somewhere safer.
Arisa: (Losaria still needs help, but I can't ignore Luna.)
Luna: Safer? But it's safe here. Mother and Father are here.
Arisa: Mother and Father?
Luna: Come on, we should start the adventure now.
Arisa: Um, we're already having an adventure. Right?
Luna: No, you have to be the monster.
Luna: And then I get to kill you!
Arisa: What!
Arisa: Aaaah!
As Luna attacks, Arisa's eyes open wide in shock.
Arisa: Oow! What's happening?
Luna: She's not dead yet. What should I do with her, Mother and Father?
Luna: Yeah, yeah! I know! I'll do it again!
Arisa: Luna are those your—
Arisa: Why are you doing this?
Luna: You said you wanted to be part of my adventure. That's why I'm trying to kill you.
Arisa: What are you saying, Luna?
Luna: Mother and Father are dead, but they don't mind. You should die too!
Arisa: No, not again!
Luna grins while attacking again and again. Her murderous innocence horrifies Arisa.
Arisa: (She's really serious! I don't want to fight with such a little girl!)
Arisa: But I'll do whatever it takes if I'm going to save Losaria!
Arisa: Eeek!
Arisa: (It's that thundery sound again!)
Arisa: Luna! Behind you!
Luna: A big hole?
Luna: Eek!
Arisa: Luna!
Luna is swallowed up by the enormous hole. Arisa watches speechlessly.
Arisa: What could be going on? What happened to Luna?
Arisa: ...
Arisa: I can't just desert her!
Arisa: Aaaah!
???: The Morning Star is trembling. What might have come to pass?
Holes as dark as night open one after another around the Morning Star and spread across the sky.
???: Almighty Nexus, is this the liberation that you bring us?
???: Or is this simply another of the world's sorrows?
After swallowing Arisa and Luna, the holes continue to multiply—banishing living creatures into the void.

Shadowverse: Duelist of Eternity - Chapter 1: The Hole - Episode 1

Furias's attempt to capture Arisa and Luna is thwarted by a clay golem, but the girls get separated while escaping from the monster. While on an assignment in the same area, (Captain)'s crew comes to Arisa's aid.

Arisa: Where am I?
Several silhouettes appear before Arisa.
Furias: Huh? Just when I was sure that this hole could only make clay statues, a brat pops out!
Arisa: (Who is he supposed to be? He doesn’t look like an elf kid.)
Imperial Soldier: I've never seen anything like this. Where does the hole lead to?
Furias: Maybe to the hereafter; maybe it's just a hole in the sky. Whatever! It doesn't matter!
Furias: Either way she should be good for some experiments. Let's have a bit of fun!
Arisa: Aaah! What are you going to do?
Furias: Mwa-ha-ha, don't worry, brat! C'mon, bring her along!
Imperial Soldier: Yes sir!
Arisa: No! Let me go!
Luna: Is somebody there?
Furias: Ah! Another brat!
Arisa: Luna!
Luna: Oh, there you are. I'm going to kill you now, okay?
Luna doesn't seem to notice Furias or the imperial soldiers.
Arisa: Stop! Luna, this isn't the time for that!
Furias: Oh, you know her? That must mean that both of you are from the other side.
Luna: Aren't you coming on my adventure? Did you tell a lie?
Luna: I hate liars.
Furias: That girl has horrific powers! Ha-ha-ha-ha!
Furias: Talk about hitting the jackpot!
Furias: Pick your jaws up off the floor and grab her! Take her into the lab!
Furias: Huh! What's that shaking?
Clay Golem: Ooo!
Furias: Gweh!
Imperial Soldier: General Furias!
This is bad—the clay statue must've come from the hole! Move the general out!
Knocked unconscious by the earthen figure's blow, Furias is carried away by the imperial soldiers.
Clay Golem: ...
Arisa: That statue. I, uh, think it saved us.
Clay Golem: Ooooo!
Arisa: Maybe not!
Clay Golem: Oooo!
Arisa: I have to look for Losaria! I can't lose now!
Arisa has been hurled into the cerulean skies far away from the Morning Star. What might her fate be?
Imperial Soldier: Our first priority is to treat the general. Hurry!
Vyrn: Looks like we weren't the only ones who came to see the freaky creatures. The imperials are here too.
(Captain) and the crew are investigating in the mountains as part of an assignment from Siero.
Rumor has it that hitherto unseen monsters have been appearing.
Vyrn: We have to watch out. And not just for the monsters from the assignment.
Lyria: Those monsters. They're... not the ghosty kind, are they?
Vyrn: Hm, I don't know. That would fit with what we heard.
Vyrn: Who knows? Maybe when we're walking along, some ghost with no face will jump out and scream boo!
Lyria: Eek! Cut it out, Vyrn!
Vyrn: Just kidding! There's no way that monsters like—
Monster's Voice: Ooooo!
Young Girl's Voice: Aah! If I don't do something—
Vyrn: Eeeek! They're... they're real!
Lyria: No! Someone's being attacked over there. We've got to help, (Captain)!
Clay Golem: Ooooo!
???: You... You...
Clay Golem: Ooo!
Vyrn: Think that's the monster from our assignment?
Lyria: Excuse me! Are you hurt?
???: Who... Who are you?
Vyrn: There'll be time to talk later. We've gotta knock this monster down now! C'mon, (Captain)!

Shadowverse: Duelist of Eternity - Chapter 1: The Hole - Episode 1: Scene 2

Arisa explains how she and Luna found themselves in this world. Even though Luna wants to kill her, Arisa is concerned for Luna's safety, and the crew join the search for Luna while continuing their original assignment.

Clay Golem: Ooo...
Vyrn: Yeah! Good work, (Captain)!
???: That was so scary! The monster came out of nowhere!
Arisa: Ah, thank you for saving me! My name's Arisa!
The crew members introduce themselves to Arisa and listen to her story.
Arisa: And then I heard a sound like thunder. And all of a sudden the hole sucked Luna up.
Arisa: And I jumped in after her.
Arisa: And then some weirdos caught me, and then there was a monster, and then—ah, I don't even know!
Lyria: That must have been very hard.
Vyrn: You sure got lucky, Knife Ears!
Vyrn: If those imperial dudes got their hands on you, there's no telling what they'd do!
Lyria: He's right. They might have experimented on you with dark matter or fed you to monsters.
Arisa: Dark matter? Monsters?
Arisa: So they're not just weirdos; they do really bad things too.
Arisa: Oh yeah! Luna! Where's Luna?
Vyrn: Luna's the twerp who tried to kill you, right, Knife Ears? Why go out of your way to look for her?
Arisa: Well, uh... I'm sure there's a reason why she's like that. And she's all alone.
Lyria: Yeah, and the monsters and the people from the empire are still out there.
Lyria: We should probably help Arisa look for Luna. What do you think, (Captain)?
  1. Let's go searching.
  2. I'm not sure about this.

Choose: Let's go searching.
Vyrn: Yeah! You don't seem to know your way around here, so we'll give you a hand.
Lyria: Yeah!
Arisa: Really? Thank you so much! I was worried if I'd be okay by myself.
Vyrn: Ha-ha! You're a total softy, (Captain). Now let's get going!
Arisa: All right!

Choose: I'm not sure about this.
(Captain) hesitates, unsure of whether to put the crew's current assignment on hold.
Vyrn: Huh... Well, our assignment isn't that urgent. It should be fine to help out.
Arisa: No, don't worry! I don't want to ruin your plans, and I can probably handle this alone!
Lyria: Wait! Please tell us some more about Luna.
Vyrn: Yeah, you had me wondering too. Why are you so hung up on that twerp when she tried to kill you?
Arisa: Luna, uh... Well, it looks like she lost her mother and father.
Arisa: And I know how sad it is to be alone. She's a little strange, but I can't just turn my back on her.
Lyria: And we can't turn our backs on her either.
Vyrn: Yeah, especially since she doesn't have a mom or dad to help.
Hearing of Luna's plight, (Captain) agrees with Vyrn. When all is said and done, Luna is still a child in need.
Thinking that it would be inhumane to leave her in the mountains, (Captain) decides to accompany Arisa.
Arisa: Huh! Really, (Captain)?
Vyrn: Hee-hee! So you can't turn your back on the twerp either, can you, (Captain)?
Lyria: Hee-hee! I'm glad to hear it. I love you for being so kind, (Captain)!
Arisa: Thanks, (Captain)! Let's fight this battle!
Continue 1
Vyrn: Oh, and by the way, Knife Ears. You don't need to be so polite to us.
Lyria: Yeah, you can just be yourself!
Arisa: Oh... Well, uh, thanks, everyone!
(Captain), Arisa, and the others begin to search for Luna.

Shadowverse: Duelist of Eternity - Chapter 1: The Hole - Episode 2

While the party searches for Luna, she enjoys a walk in the mountains with her parents before coming across two outlaws who believe she's from a rich family. After inviting the men to come on her adventure, Luna attacks them.

Luna takes in her surroundings while (Captain) and the rest of the crew are discussing how to search for her.
Luna: Whoa! That's such a big mountain, Mother and Father!
Luna's Mother: It is, Luna. The view here is beautiful.
Luna's Father: It's good that we came on a walk, isn't it?
Luna: Yeah, it's great! This is fun, huh, Mother and Father?
Luna's Mother: It really is.
Luna's Father: Luna, watch your step. You don't want to fall and hurt yourself.
Luna: Okay!
Two people gaze at Luna while she walks together with her parents.
Outlaw 1: How 'bout that! We come here lookin' for them freaky monsters, and we find a little brat all by her lonesome.
Outlaw 2: I'll bet she's out here on a dare. What do you say we shake her up a bit?
Outlaw 1: Let's.
Outlaw 1: Hey, you! What do you think you're doing out here, little miss?
Luna: Huh? I'm on an adventure with Mother and Father.
Outlaw 2: Mother and Father? I sure don't see no one!
Outlaw 1: Bet they dumped her off in the mountains. Sounds like our chance to make some scratch.
Outlaw 2: Yeah, it ain't hard to see she's rich. Betcha we can squeeze a rupie or two outta her parents—live nice and easy for a spell.
Luna: Squeeze a rupie? Huh?
Outlaw 1: You don't got nothing to worry about. We'll take you right home.
Outlaw 2: There's loads of monsters out this way. We'll keep you safe.
Luna: You're very nice men. I'll let you come on my adventure if you want.
Outlaw 1: Sure, I'll go on an adventure with you. What do you say we start with the treasure hunt?
Luna: Yay! Mother and Father, they said yes!
Outlaw 2: Heh-heh-heh, I tell you! There's nothing like slicing open moneybags.
Luna: Slice... open...
Luna: Uh, what are you guys talking about?
Outlaw 2: Don't you worry yourself. We gotta get a move on. It gets nasty around here after sundown.
Luna: Okay! Mother and Father say I should go home before dark too.
Outlaw 2: Uh, yeah. Whatever you say, kid. Now c'mon!
Luna: Okay! This is our adventure, and you're the monsters. So I'm gonna kill you now!
Outlaws: Huh?

Shadowverse: Duelist of Eternity - Chapter 1: The Hole - Episode 2: Scene 2

As Luna continues her assault against the outlaws, she experiences a terrible headache, allowing the men to flee. Luna, falling to the ground, sees that her parents have disappeared.

Outlaws: Yaaah!
Luna: Ha-ha-ha! This adventure is the best!
Luna's Parents: Aaaah!
Luna: Mother! Father! What's wrong?
Luna's Parents: Aaaaah!
Outlaw 1: Gwaaah!
Outlaw 2: This is bad! All this blood... You're really hurt!
The ghosts behind Luna attack the outlaws.
Luna: Ah! My head... My head hurts!
Luna clutches her head in pain.
Outlaw 2: That brat's a monster! She's a maniac! On your feet! Run! Get outta here!
Outlaw 1: Yaaah!
Luna: It hurts. My head hurts.
Luna: Mother? Father? Where are you?

Shadowverse: Duelist of Eternity - Chapter 1: The Hole - Episode 3

Enraged that his soldiers couldn't protect him, General Furias sends his men to pursue Arisa, (Captain), and the crew. The troops eventually corner the party.

Furias: And why couldn't you have saved me before I was injured?
Imperial Soldier: My apologies, sir.
Furias: Nothing but worthless dolts everywhere! Have you found the brats who popped out of that hole yet?
Imperial Solder: The one who seemed older was sighted traveling with a crew of skyfarers. We're following her at present.
Furias: Oh? Hehehe!
Imperial Soldier: Spotted them!
Vyrn: Gee, these guys don't know how to take a hint, do they?
Lyria: Yikes! There are some over there. And over there too!
Arisa: Oh no! I'm sorry, everyone. This is all my fault!
Vyrn: Ha-ha! Don't sweat it! They're on our tail half the time anyway!
Lyria: But something about this doesn't feel right.
As the crew advances along the mountain path, it grows narrower and narrower. They're corralled into a dead end.
Imperial Soldier: Huff... Huff... Finally! We've cornered them!
Arisa: These people won't stop chasing us!
Vyrn: They normally quit before they start wheezing but not today!
Vyrn: I knew it! They're plotting something, but our only choice is to fight!
Imperial Soldier: You're not getting away! Here goes!

Shadowverse: Duelist of Eternity - Chapter 1: The Hole - Episode 3: Scene 2

(Captain)'s crew defeats the soldiers, but the imperial forces press on in fear. General Furias arrives to obstruct the party's path by summoning a mechanical golem.

Vyrn: There were a ton of soldiers, but we pulled through. You sure helped out, Knife Ears!
Arisa: Ha-ha-ha! That's what I trained for!
Imperial Soldier: Ack... Ugh...
Lyria: One of the soldiers is waking up!
Vyrn: Say what!
Imperial Soldier: If we let you get away, then we're all—I can't let you get away!
Arisa: They seem so afraid. But why?
Vyrn: Who cares? We need to get away before things get any messier!
???: Mwah-ha-ha! You're too late!
Furias: ...
Arisa: It's you!
Vyrn: So that jerk was the one pushing the soldiers so hard!
Furias: These lowly soldiers were more talented than I thought. Well, they were worthless as protection, but at least they bought me some time!
Furias: Send it out!
Golem: ...!
Vyrn: Oh, great! Just what we didn't need!

Shadowverse: Duelist of Eternity - Chapter 1: The Hole - Episode 4

Furias's golem is outfitted with a warped crystal fragment that caused the holes to open. More clay golems appear around the mechanized golem and attack both friend and foe.

Golem: ...!
Arisa: What is that? I've never seen anything like it!
Vyrn: Heh! They're a real pain in the tail, but nothing to be afraid of! Let's do this, (Captain).
Furias: Hey! Hey! Did you think this was an ordinary golem? Well, you were sorely mistaken!
Golem: ...!
Lyria: Be careful. There's something strange about it, but I can't say what!
Clay Golem: Ooo!
Vyrn: What the heck is that thing!
Furias: Gwah-ha-ha! Isn't it marvelous? I outfitted one of Erste's golems with a rather unconventional component.
Furias: You see, I acquired a shard from a crystal that was restraining a primal beast. The beast's power had altered it quite a bit.
Furias: It was unstable and not much good for research, so it had been tossed aside.
Furias: But I discovered that with just a slight load, it could be used to open holes in time and space. Impressive, huh?
Clay Golem: Ooo!
Imperial Soldier: Ack!
An earthen beast appears near the imperial golem and begins to go wild.
Furias: See? See the fruits of my research! I can generate as many of these clay statues as I wish!
Arisa: That's horrible! Aren't those people on your side?
Lyria: This is why the people from the empire were so afraid.
Furias: Well, during the experiment a good number of soldiers fell into the hole. That could play a part too. Who cares though.
Furias: Well now, study time's just about up. Are you ready for the test?
Arisa: ...!
Furias: You know, I've changed my mind about snatching up the brat.
Furias: Golem! Clay statue! Kill them all! Gwah-ha-ha-ha!

Shadowverse: Duelist of Eternity - Chapter 1: The Hole - Episode 4: Scene 2

When the golem falls, the crystal fragment tumbles down a cliff and lands near a sleeping Luna. Another hole opens—this time summoning Mordecai, a skeletal duelist.

Golem: ...!
Arisa: Phew! We did it, (Captain)!
Furias: My golem!
Vyrn: Heh-heh! That's just how the cookie crumbles!
Pieces of the golem roll off the cliff.
Furias spots a glowing object among them and suddenly turns pale.
Furias: The stone!
Furias: You can't be serious! My stone's gone, you nitwits!
Furias: I still have experiments to conduct! Go find it!
Imperial Soldier: Yes! Yes sir!
Furias: If that stone breaks, then the whole plan goes belly up! Hey, are you even listening!
The imperial soldiers ignore (Captain) and the others to chase the stone that flew from the golem.
Vyrn: I guess our assignment from Siero is a wrap then.
Lyria: We didn't figure out what the monsters are, but we did find out where they came from.
Vyrn: All right! Now we've just got to find that twerp, Luna.
Lyria: And we have to find a way to get you and Luna back home too!
Arisa: Yeah!
Luna: Mmm... Nnn...
Luna: Eek!
While still in pain from her headache, Luna sits down and falls asleep.
Something bumps her legs and startles her awake.
Luna's Father: Good morning, Luna. Did you sleep well?
Luna's Mother: Are you feeling all nice and rested?
Luna: Mother! Father!
Luna's Mother: What's wrong, Luna? Why the long face?
Luna: Uh, well... I thought that you and Father had gone somewhere.
Luna's Father: Don't be silly, Luna. Your mother and I will be with you forever.
Luna's Mother: Did you have a bad dream? Poor dear!
Luna: I'm all better now! I felt better as soon as I saw your guys' faces!
Luna smiles at the sight of her parents.
She then suddenly notices a glimmering object.
Luna: Huh? What's this?
A glowing, translucent stone falls into Luna's lap.
Luna: Ooh! Mother and Father, it's a pretty stone!
Luna's Father: Wonderful, Luna. What a nice thing to find.
Luna: Hey, Mother and Father. Can I take this stone home? I want to keep it to remember my adventure.
Luna's Mother: Of course you can, Luna.
Luna: Yay! It's so sparkly and pretty. How come it's so sparkly?
Luna plays with the stone.
Luna: Aah!
It slips out of her hands, and she chases after it.
The shining stone lands on a boulder and makes a cracking noise.
Luna: Huh? The stone's getting shinier!
???: A new battlefield.
Luna: Who are you?
???: You have summoned me, young blood.
Luna: Young blood? No, my name's Luna.
Mordecai: And I am Mordecai, the Eternal Duelist.
Luna: More-duh-kai? That's a funny name. I know—
Luna: I'll call you Morty instead!
Mordecai: ...
Luna: Hey, how come you look so weird? Your face is all bones. Oh, oh, I know! You're dead, aren't you?
Mordecai: I have known death. But while my flesh has moldered away, my bones still thirst for duels.
Luna: Morty, you look like Mother and Father. We should be friends!
Mordecai: Who will stand against me in the duel? Whither goes my rival?
Luna: Hey, Morty! Let's play together!
Mordecai: ...
Mordecai walks away without acknowledging Luna.
Luna: Ha-ha! Wait, Morty! Wait for me!
Luna hurries after Mordecai and grabs his hand.
Luna: Come on, Morty! Let's play together!
Mordecai: Let us prepare for the duel.
And on walked Mordecai, the skeleton duelist who had appeared from the void.

Shadowverse: Duelist of Eternity - Chapter 2: Duelist of Eternity - Episode 1

Luna happily follows Mordecai, believing that he will make her adventure more interesting. Paying little heed to the girl, Mordecai continues searching for a duel, happening upon imperial soldiers searching for the crystal.

Luna: Ha-ha-ha! I made a friend! I'm so happy!
Mordecai: Whither goes he? Whither goes my rival?
Luna: I was talking to everyone to see if they want to go on an adventure with me.
Mordecai: ...
Luna: But no one wanted to. No one would let me kill them. It made me so sad.
Mordecai: An eternal duel is my desire.
Luna: But at least I made a friend. This is the best!
Mordecai: ...
Luna's Mother: You seem to be having so much fun.
Luna's Father: It's so good to see you happy, Luna.
Luna: Hey, Morty! What do you wanna do?
Mordecai: I wish for a bone-crushing, flesh-rending duel of passion. I wish to duel.
Luna: Do what?
Mordecai: To fight a battle of blood and bones wherein we duelists wager our very souls—the thought impassions me.
Luna: Fight? Huh, you want to fight with someone.
Luna: I know, Morty! We can look for more people to go on an adventure with us!
Luna's Father: You're right, Luna. If you're together with him, you'll be able to kill plenty of people.
Luna's Mother: What an exciting adventure you'll have.
Luna: Yeah, Morty and I are going to have a great adventure!
Mordecai: ...
Luna: What is it, Morty?
Mordecai: Stalking from the shadows—how uncouth!
Luna: Huh?
Mordecai slashes through nearby brush.
Imperial Soldier: Ah! They spotted us!
Mordecai: Such indecorous swordsmanship is repellent. I wish for a proper battle.
Imperial Soldier: It's the girl who came from the hole. We finally found her!
Imperial Soldier: She couldn't have the stone we're looking for, could she? Don't let her get away!
Luna: Who are those guys, Morty?
Luna: Do they want to come on our adventure?
Luna: We should make them play with us!
Imperial Soldier: The first priority is to recover the stone. Kill the girl if it comes down to it, but don't put a scratch on that stone!
Imperial Soldiers: Yes sir!
Luna: ...
Luna: Kill me? No, I'm the one who kills you.
Luna: Right, Morty!
Mordecai: Let's do this right!

Shadowverse: Duelist of Eternity - Chapter 2: Duelist of Eternity - Episode 1: Scene 2

Mordecai easily defeats the soldiers, causing them to run away. They begin trailing the fleeing imperials when Luna hears someone calling her name.

Mordecai: En garde!
Imperial Soldier: Aaah!
Imperial Soldier: He's too strong!
Imperial Soldier: Don't give up! Go and take back the stone!
Luna: Hey, how come you're fighting back? Don't you want me to kill you?
Imperial Soldier: The general's gonna have our heads on a platter if we screw up. We have to get that stone back!
Luna: Hey, are you guys even listening to me?
Mordecai: You're too slow!
Imperial Soldier: Gwah!
Imperial Soldier: The stone!
Luna: Hey, pay attention to me. Who cares about the dumb stone?
Soldier after soldier attacks Luna and Mordecai, but all fall in defeat.
The imperial forces continue to sustain damage until they have no choice but to disperse.
Mordecai: Onto the next battle.
Luna: I'm bored. None of them want to die.
Mordecai: ...
Luna: Here, this stone's for you.
Luna forces the stone inside Mordecai's armor.
Mordecai: ...
Luna's Mother: Are you sure, Luna? You liked that stone.
Luna: People don't want to go on an adventure with me when I have the stone. So I don't need it anymore.
Luna's Father: Really? That's too bad, isn't it, Luna?
Luna: It's okay. I had a lot of fun with you and Mother.
Luna: And me and Morty are friends now too. Right, Morty?
Luna: Huh? Morty?
Mordecai has begun walking in the direction of the imperial soldiers.
Luna: Hey, Morty! Wait for me!
???: Luna!
Luna: Huh? Who's calling my name?

Shadowverse: Duelist of Eternity - Chapter 2: Duelist of Eternity - Episode 2

Luna follows voices calling her name to find (Captain)'s crew and Arisa, though Luna's not happy to see her. After meeting Vyrn, however, Luna warms up to the party and invites them on her adventure.

???: Luna!
Luna: Huh? Who's calling my name?
???: Luna! Where are you?
Luna runs in the direction of the voice.
Vyrn: Hey! It's the twerp!
Arisa: Luna! Oh good! You're okay!
Luna: Humph, it's you. Let's go, Mother and Father.
Arisa: Luna, wait!
Luna: I hate you, and I don't want to talk to you.
Arisa: Uh...
Arisa: Luna, it's dangerous here. Let me take you back home.
Luna: No! I don't want to listen to you. I hate you.
Arisa: Now what? She won't listen to anything I say.
Vyrn: Let us give it a shot!
Arisa: Thank you. I've already done everything I can.
Vyrn: Leave the rest to us! You wouldn't know it, but we're used to dealing with little twerps.
Lyria: We take care of lots of kids when we're on assignments.
Lyria and the others walk toward Luna.
Lyria: Hi, Luna! Do you want to come with me and the crew?
(Captain) and the others speak to Luna as kindly as they can.
Vyrn: You could get hurt when you're all alone like this, Luna. What do you say? We'll give you a ride back.
Luna: Huh? The puppet! It's talking, Mother and Father!
Vyrn: Hm... Well, it's come to this. I'll be a puppet or a doll or whatever we need.
Smiling kindly, (Captain) encourages Luna to head home.
Luna seems to warm to Arisa and the crew.
Luna: Hey, you guys. Were you worried about me?
Vyrn: Yeah! We wouldn't want to see anything happen to you.
Luna: You're all so nice!
Luna: You should come on my adventure!
Vyrn: Uh-oh!
Lyria: Ghosts!
Arisa: Luna, stop! Why are you doing this?
Luna: You're really nice. I want you to come on my adventure!

Shadowverse: Duelist of Eternity - Chapter 2: Duelist of Eternity - Episode 2: Scene 2

Unable to convince the crew to come on her adventure, Luna experiences another headache and runs away. They later find her gleefully attacking imperial soldiers with Mordecai, who then forces (Captain) into a duel.

Luna: You won't let me kill you either, will you, (Captain)?
Vyrn: Yowzers! She just won't listen!
Lyria: Luna, please stop. I don't want (Captain) to die.
Luna: I asked you to come on my adventure.
Luna: Why won't you listen to me?
Vyrn: I don't really get what you're saying, but once someone dies, that's the end.
Lyria: Yeah. You can't see them ever again.
Luna: No!
Luna: No, that isn't true!
Luna: My mother and father are dead, and they're fine.
Luna: Aagh!
Luna: But you didn't die, then—Aaaah, it hurts! It hurts! My head!
Luna clutches her head and screams at the crew members. They are stunned by the ghastly sight.
Luna: Stop! Stop it! I hate you! I hate you! I hate you!
Luna shakes her head and runs away.
Vyrn: Looks like we really hurt her feelings.
Lyria: Hm. I wonder what we should've done differently.
Arisa: I don't know, but I can't bear to leave Luna alone.
Vyrn: And neither can I.
Lyria: Let's follow Luna. I can't bear to leave her alone either.
The crew follows Luna's trail.
Vyrn: Hm... This twerp doesn't walk in a straight line, does she?
Vyrn: It makes sense, 'cause she's a kid. But it's sure hard to trace her like this!
Lyria: I can see a big building. Could she be in there?
Lyria: Is this a ruin?
Vyrn: It looks like someone's tried to cover it up recently. Could it be where—
???: Aaaaaaaaah!
Alarmed by a sudden scream, the crew proceeds cautiously.
Vyrn: What's happened inside? It sure reeks like blood!
Lyria: And it sounds like someone's fighting.
The crew members think back to when Luna clutched her head and ran away.
Arisa: I hope that Luna hasn't gone wild. We have to stop her if she has!
Furias: Hurry up and do something, you worthless slugs!
Imperial Soldier: Don't give up! Onward! Onward!
Mordecai: Let's do this right!
Imperial Soldier: Aaaah!
Imperial Soldier: Damn it! Somebody stop him!
Mordecai: You are next.
Mordecai: Let's do this right!
Imperial Soldier: Gwaaah!
Luna: That was great, Morty! Let me try too!
Imperial Soldier: Eeeek!
Luna: Ha-ha! This is fun, Mother and Father!
Furias: Perfect, another lunatic! What do those two think they're doing? Throw every last machina soldier we have at them!
(Captain) and the others see the skeleton warrior cutting down imperial soldiers; Luna is gleefully attacking beside him.
(Captain) and the rest of the crew hide in the shadows, watching in awe as the imperial soldiers fall one after the other.
Arisa: It's Luna! We have to get her out of there!
Vyrn: I almost feel bad for those soldiers—even if they are from the empire! What's that skeleton's deal anyway?
Lyria: He's different from the skeletons behind Luna. I wonder if Luna summoned him too.
Mordecai: ...
Mordecai: New duelist, you shall fall before me!
Luna: Huh? Is that someone for the adventure?
The crew members had been holding their breath. They begin to tremble.
Sensing that the opponent can no longer be evaded, (Captain) prepares for a sword fight.
Mordecai: That blade. Yes, it's you.
Vyrn: What are you saying, bonehead? (Captain) doesn't know anyone like you.
Needless to say, (Captain) has no memory of the skeleton warrior. But the warrior begins to speak as if the two were acquainted.
Mordecai: Our vow has become a part of my soul. Now let us duel.
Light begins to shine in the skeleton warrior's empty sockets. He begins to thrust his blade.
(Captain)'s eyes open wide at the force of the attack.

Shadowverse: Duelist of Eternity - Chapter 2: Duelist of Eternity - Episode 3

While Mordecai and (Captain) are engaged in battle, imperial soldiers make their assault. In the ensuing confusion, Arisa flees with Luna, and (Captain) escapes from the duel with Lyria in tow.

Mordecai: Is that all you can do? Wager your life, my rival.
Vyrn: I can't believe this! (Captain) is being beaten by another sword fighter.
Mordecai: This is not enough. It is not enough!
The flames in the skeleton warrior's eyes flicker blue, and he swings his blade.
Imperial Soldier: Strike back! Defeat the monster and the child. We can't let this go on any longer!
Arisa: They're here, everyone!
Vyrn: C'mon, did it have to be now?
Imperial Soldier: Perfect, the girl we were ordered to retrieve is here too. Take care of both at once!
Vyrn: This is gonna be a real pain!
Imperial Soldier: Break into two groups. Group one, you've got the monster. Group two, get the girl!
Imperial Soldiers: Yes sir!
Arisa: Luna!
While the soldiers are still getting into formation, Arisa runs to Luna.
Arisa: Yeah! I got her!
Luna: Huh! No! No! Let me go! I'm having an adventure!
Arisa: You can't, Luna. Just stay calm for now!
Vyrn: It's not just the twerp who's in trouble. Our path's about to be blocked off too!
Arisa carries Luna in her arms. Seeing an opening, (Captain) runs past Mordecai and toward the two girls.
Mordecai: ...!
Lyria: Run, (Captain)!
(Captain) grabs Lyria's hand and weaves through the imperial soldiers.
Mordecai: ...
Imperial Soldier: Tsk! Don't let them escape!
Imperial Soldier: Aaagh!
Mordecai stands and watches (Captain) and Lyria as they run ahead.
He suddenly cuts down the soldiers who are chasing after (Captain).
Imperial Soldier: You monster!
Mordecai: ...
???: Onward! I will take charge here!
Mordecai: Onward. I will take charge here.
Looking back over his soldier, Mordecai calls to (Captain).
???: Take the maiden and run!
Mordecai: Take her and run.
Lyria: Huff, huff... I think that nice skeleton is trying to help us.
???: Humph! Do not mock me. I will not die by the hand of any other. The conclusion—
Mordecai: The conclusion awaits us. Onward!
Vyrn: Looks like he took care of a bunch of the guys who were following us!
Vyrn: No time for that. We've got to run!

Shadowverse: Duelist of Eternity - Chapter 2: Duelist of Eternity - Episode 3: Scene 2

Mordecai continues cutting down imperial forces apathetically. He vows to settle things with his mortal enemy.

Imperial Soldier: Gwah...
Mordecai: ...
Mordecai: My rival, you were surely able to protect the maiden. Now you must wait.
Mordecai: I will see this through to its conclusion. This I vow.

Shadowverse: Duelist of Eternity - Chapter 2: Duelist of Eternity - Episode 4

Mordecai single-handedly lays waste to the imperial force and readies himself for a final duel, confusing (Captain) for his mortal enemy. (Captain) has no choice but to fight.

Mordecai: There!
Imperial Soldier: Aah!
Mordecai: Who is next?
Imperial Soldier: You wiped out the entire unit... all alone?
Mordecai: ...
Realizing that the soldiers are no longer willing to battle, Mordecai slowly walks toward the exit.
Mordecai: Is the maiden safe, my rival?
Vyrn: What the heck's this guy saying?
Mordecai: At last. The long-awaited hour is at hand.
Lyria: I don't understand. It looks like he thinks you're someone different, (Captain).
Mordecai: Let us begin the duel. We shall conclude what began in days long ago.
Vyrn: I don't get it either. But it doesn't look like we can talk our way out of this!
Mordecai: Let's do this right! En garde!

Shadowverse: Duelist of Eternity - Chapter 2: Duelist of Eternity - Episode 4: Scene 2

(Captain) puts up a fierce fight, but Mordecai's regeneration causes the skeleton to forget the outcome of the duel each time. More clay golems appear as (Captain) continues facing Mordecai in the chaos.

Mordecai: Gwaaah!
(Captain)'s blade plunges into Mordecai's forehead and splits his skull open.
Mordecai: Excellent swordsmanship.
Vyrn: That was close!
Lyria: Are you okay, (Captain)?
(Captain) smiles and nods as if to dispel Lyria's worries.
Luna: Morty? Hey, what happened to Morty? Where'd he go?
Vyrn: How should I know! He's dead to begin with, isn't he? So he couldn't have died!
Vyrn: Well, once we take the two girls back where they came from, things should be settled here.
Lyria: Yeah! Let's give them a ride back on our airship.
Vyrn: You're both coming aboard, aren't you?
Arisa: Yeah, thank you! You're coming too, right, Luna?
Luna: I dunno.
Having defeated the ghastly opponent, (Captain) and the crew begin to depart the imperial facility.
Mordecai: ...
Vyrn: Yipe! He's standing up!
The crew members are startled to see Mordecai come to his feet without a trace of injury.
Mordecai stares intently at (Captain), whose sword is still unsheathed.
Mordecai: That blade. Yes, it's you.
Mordecai speaks the same words in the same tone as if reenacting his earlier encounter with (Captain).
Vyrn: No, wait! We just settled things a moment ago.
Clay Golem: Ooo!
Light shimmers from the seams of Mordecai's armor, and earthen figures suddenly appear at his sides.
Vyrn: What the heck! Now there are clay statues popping out of the skeleton!
Mordecai: Step forth, my rival.
Arisa: ...?
Vyrn: Uh-oh! He's coming, (Captain)!
Arisa: (What's the light that flashes inside his armor sometimes? I've seen it somewhere before.)
Clay Golem: Oooo!
Arisa: Whoa! The statues are coming this way!
Vyrn: Things are getting out of control!
Mordecai: Let's do this right!
Flourishing his blade, the skeletal swordsman draws closer to (Captain).
(Captain) wonders how to defeat the seemingly immortal opponent.

Shadowverse: Duelist of Eternity - Ending

During the fight Arisa recognizes the light leaking from Mordecai's armor. (Captain) strikes this spot, causing a hole to open that swallows the skeletal duelist and allowing Arisa and Luna to make their way home.

Mordecai: Gwah!
(Captain) strikes down Mordecai time and time again to no avail.
Mordecai: ...
Mordecai: Let's do this right!
Vyrn: What do we do?
Furias: Hey, the brats are here! Surround them! Surround them!
Furias: Tsk! Nice work finding them when they're already in front of me! Get me the stone, you cretins!
Imperial Soldiers: Yes sir!
Lyria: This is bad. The people from the empire are coming!
Mordecai: Step forward, my rival.
Clay Golem: Ooo!
Imperial Soldier: Those monsters! Were they summoned by the skeleton?
The earthen figures that appear from within Mordecai's body destroy the research facility piece by piece.
Luna sits down on the floor and watches.
Luna: You look like you're having fun, Mother, Father, and Morty. You keep playing with those people. What should I do?
Luna: Hm... I wish I could make lots of statues like you, Morty.
Luna: Oh, I know! I'm gonna pretend I'm Morty! Mother and Father, you be the statues!
Luna: Ha-ha-ha! See? See? I'm Morty!
Luna: Look at me!
Imperial Soldier: Aaaah!
Luna runs throughout the facility, first talking to imperial soldiers and then attacking them. The research facility soon devolves into chaos.
Furias: ...
Furias: I've had enough of this experiment. I'm going home, so you clean up the mess.
Imperial Soldier: Uh, General! We're in dire straits!
The soldiers are dumbfounded as they watch Furias walk off.
Mordecai: Let the duel continue.
Vyrn: The skeleton, the statues, and the twerp—they won't stop! What are we supposed to do?
Vyrn: Looks like you're up, Lyria! Summon a primal beast and blow them away!
Lyria: No, what if I hurt (Captain)!
Vyrn: Agh! Isn't there anything we can do?
Arisa: What now?
Frantically wracking her brain, Arisa realizes that she's overlooked something in the chaos.
Arisa: (I know I've seen the light inside the skeleton's armor somewhere before.)
Vyrn: Hey, snap out of it, Knife Ears! This is no time for daydreaming!
Arisa: (Captain)! The skeleton shines when those statues come out.
Lyria: Ah! Now that you mention it...
Arisa: It's like—I think it's like the light I saw when I came here!
Lyria: A light like that flashed when the empire's machine made the clay statues.
Vyrn: You think that the skeleton's got the stone the imperial dudes are scrambling around for?
Imperial Soldier: What! Someone, anyone! Catch that skeleton!
Imperial Soldier: We can't! Our hands are tied with these clay statues!
Vyrn: Now's our chance, (Captain)! Smash the stone before the next clay statue pops out!
Arisa: (Captain), the light's coming from around his waist. Go for the waist!
(Captain) nods and readies a blade again.
The sword flits between the seams of the skeleton's armor.
Mordecai: Agh!
(Captain) uses the sword to probe around inside the skeleton. The blade strikes something hard.
Mordecai: What!
Imperial Soldier: That hole! The stone's been broken!
Mordecai: Excellent swordsmanship, my rival.
Luna: Huh? Where'd Morty go? Did he fall into the hole?
Arisa: Hey, I can see something on the other side.
Arisa: It's...
Arisa: There! It's the Morning Star!
Lyria: Does that go back to the place where you came from?
Arisa: Probably, yes. I think so!
Vyrn: Well, it's closing up as we speak! Go through while the dudes from the empire are still busy with those statues!
Arisa: Yeah! Sorry and thank you! Let's go back, Luna!
Luna: No! I hate you, and I don't want to listen to you!
Arisa: But you won't be able to go home. Come on! Let's go together, Luna!
Luna: Home. What should we do, Mother and Father? Uh-huh. Uh-huh.
Luna: You're right! This adventure has been going on too long now. Let's go home.
Arisa: Good! Come on then, Luna!
Luna: No! I don't want to go with you!
Arisa: Oh, all right. Well, how about you go first then?
Luna: Okay. Sigh, I'm tired.
Arisa: Thank you for saving me, (Captain), Vyrn, and Lyria.
Arisa: We'll meet again someday!
Arisa says a brief farewell, closes her eyes, and then jumps into the hole.
Arisa: Huh?
Arisa: What happened to me? Did I really fall asleep here?
Arisa: What was I doing? First I was looking for Losaria, and then—
Arisa: Ah, there's no time for that! I'm coming for you, Losaria!
Was Arisa's experience truly just a dream, or might it have been reality?
Now fully awake, the girl strengthens her resolve and begins to walk forward.
