Act 1: Girl in Blue - Chapter 36: Dead End - Episode 1

As the search for Orchis begins to seem futile, the Black Knight begins to seethe with anger.

Black Knight: Dammit! Why! Why can't we find her!
With no sign of Orchis in the palace at Mephorash, the Black Knight begins to grow flustered.
Rackam: I guess there might be a few stones left in this giant sandcastle we left unturned.
Rackam: But there's no sign of Orchis or the prime minister.
Black Knight: Impossible... What other place would she have possibly taken her to?
Eugen: Calm down, Apollo. There are still some rooms we haven't—
Black Knight: Dammit, shut up!
I swear, Orchis... I swear I'll find you.
Black Knight: Whatever it takes, (Captain), we must find that doll.

Act 1: Girl in Blue - Chapter 36: Dead End - Episode 1: Scene 2

An imperial patrol finds an enraged Black Knight.

Imperial Soldier 1: We've got you now, intruders!
Imperial Soldier 1: Urgh!
Black Knight: Silence. You have no right to speak in this place.
Black Knight: Dammit! She should be here! Why can't I find her!
Black Knight: If she's not here—if she's not in Mephorash—then where is she?
Imperial Soldier 2: The intruders are over here! Everyone, I need back up!
Black Knight: Tch. You've picked the wrong day, soldiers.
Black Knight: If I had any mercy before, then I will spare none now!

Act 1: Girl in Blue - Chapter 36: Dead End - Episode 2

Unable to locate Orchis, the crew decides to leave the palace in Mephorash and escape from Ravi Island.

The crew continues the search, but there is still no sight of Orchis.
Black Knight: Why isn't she here...
Katalina: I'm at a loss. There's no clues anywhere.
Io: I guess they went to the current capital of the Erste Empire after all, huh?
Katalina: Agastia? I guess it's not impossible.
Rackam: What's this Freesia character up to anyway?
Rackam: If we know her motives, then we can figure out where she's holed up, right?
Black Knight: It's true that knowing her objective would simplify things.
Black Knight: Unfortunately, when I had a spy gather intel on her in the past, we learned only one thing.
Black Knight: She wants both Lyria and Orchis to fulfill her schemes.
Black Knight: The nature of those schemes is still unclear. But looking at how they've pursued Lyria, we can infer primal beasts are connected.
Lyria: Primal beasts?
Eugen: That doesn't give us much to go on. Primals beasts are a rupie a dozen in the skies.
Black Knight: Freesia's clan has served the Erste royal family here in Mephorash for generations.
Black Knight: If she chose not to come here, it must have been for a very convincing reason.
Rosetta: But if we don't know that reason, we still can't act. First things first, we have to search for hints.
Vyrn: Then we might as well go check out Agastia!
Vyrn: It's the capital city of the empire, so we're bound to find something out, right?
Katalina: But Vyrn, Agastia is deep in the heart of Erste.
Katalina: We can't just sneak into it like we did here on Ravi Island.
Vyrn: Oh... Yeah, I guess that's true...
Rackam: Well, now that we know Orchis isn't in the palace, no sense in us stickin' around either!
Rackam: Let's figure out where we're headed after we blow this joint!

Act 1: Girl in Blue - Chapter 36: Dead End - Episode 2: Scene 2

The crew hurries to exit the palace, but Lecia appears and offers to reveal Freesia's location in exchange for a rematch.

(Captain) and the crew dash through the palace, keen on leaving Ravi Island as soon as possible.
But during their retreat a voice calls out to them from behind.
Lecia: Where do you all think you're going in such a hurry?
Lyria: Lecia! Why are you here?
Black Knight: What do you want, little girl? We don't have time to play.
Lecia: I'm not a little girl! I'm, well, older than I look!
Katalina: Lecia?
Lecia: I honestly don't understand your crew at all.
Lecia: But Monika thinks highly of you.
Lecia: You fought off Monika and myself and escaped from Amalthea. Those are the facts.
Lecia: But that doesn't mean it wasn't a fluke! Even if Monika accepts your strength, it doesn't mean I will.
Lecia: I want to test that strength. Again.
Black Knight: Humph. You're a peppy little princess. But like I said before, we don't have time to play.
Black Knight: If you want to cross swords with someone, run back to Amalthea and fight your tinier—
Lecia: I know where Prime Minister Freesia went.
Black Knight: What?
Lecia: The Crew of Enforcers has skyfarers positioned in every part of the Phantagrande Skydom.
Lecia: One told me that she had seen an imperial battleship docked in the local port—with the prime minister aboard.
Black Knight: For such a disorganized bunch, you occasionally do good work, don't you?
Black Knight: So why dangle this information in front of our noses like a carrot? What do you want?
Black Knight: Although whether we go along with it is up to us.
Lecia: What I want is a rematch.
Lecia: Prove yourselves to me. Prove what kind of skyfarers you are.
Lecia: And then, please... tell me where I fail as a captain.
Katalina: Hmm. Maybe this is better left unsaid...
Katalina: But if you've come here at your own discretion, then that shows a clear lack of both judgment and prudence.
Lecia: Eh-heh, well...
Lecia: A-anyway, I get the feeling I'll learn something from crossing swords with you!
Lecia: Monika knows your strength, but she's not the only one. I'm sure my father would acknowledge your power too.
Lecia: I have a long way to go before I can hold a candle to either of them. But I can at least work toward their level.
Lecia: So I'll be waiting by the Grandcypher.
Lecia nods to the crew before turning and leaving.
Rackam: What kinda weird war declaration was that?
Black Knight: Hah. Looks like the little girl's got some backbone after all.
Black Knight: It's rude to leave your adversaries waiting. Let's get to the Grandcypher and give her a rematch she won't forget!

Act 1: Girl in Blue - Chapter 36: Dead End - Episode 3

Lyria states that Lecia might not be so easy to defeat the second time around.

Eugen: Can't say I saw this comin', but at least now we'll know which island to head to next.
Io: But we have to defeat Lecia first.
Io: She might tell us where Freesia is, but that doesn't mean she'll just let us walk free.
Black Knight: It will be a trivial fight. This time I'll make her know the taste of defeat—until she never wants to pick up the blade again!
Katalina: I wonder if it will be that easy...
Black Knight: What?
Lyria: I think Lecia is a little different than when we met her back in Amalthea.
Lyria: Hmm... It's like she's kind of confused, but it's making her stronger somehow.
Rosetta: No. She's just made up her mind to face her obstacles head-on.
Rosetta: Girls like that are strong. She'll come at us with everything she's got.
Black Knight: Humph. If that's the case, then I've walked the same path for far longer than her.
Black Knight: I'm going to show her just how much longer she has to go!

Act 1: Girl in Blue - Chapter 36: Dead End - Episode 3: Scene 2

An old woman stops the crew as they proceed through Mephorash. She reminds the Black Knight that the people of Mephorash value her the same as Princess Orchis.

After escaping the palace, the crew heads through Mephorash proper.
A small figure calls out to them.
Old Woman: Apollo!
Katalina: You're that old woman!
Old Woman: Apollo, it sounds like something happened at the palace...
Katalina: (Not good. It sounds like word's starting to get out.)
Black Knight: ...
Old Woman: Apollo, did you... I don't believe you have...
Old Woman: But have you found Lady Orchis?
Black Knight: ...!
Old Woman: When you left this city ten years ago, it was for her sake, wasn't it?
Old Woman: And what happened at the palace—that had something to do with you and her too?
Old Woman: If that's truly the case—
Black Knight: Please don't worry yourself over it. I swear that I will bring Orchis back. And she will be smiling.
Black Knight: I swear it by any means necessary, be they just or unjust.
Black Knight: It will be as the people of this country have desired for a decade.
Black Knight: That's a promise. Please wait for that moment.
Old Woman: Apollo, you haven't changed a bit, have you? You've always thought only of Lady Orchis.
Black Knight: ...
Old Woman: But listen here, Apollo. We worry about you too.
Old Woman: After all, dear, you haven't smiled since you've come back. That's why I didn't recognize you at first.
Old Woman: In the past you looked so happy when you were with Lady Orchis—grinning from ear to ear.
Black Knight: That's in the past.
Old Woman: The past and the present aren't so different.
Old Woman: Unless something's bothering you about the present? Look at your furrowed brow—you're going to wrinkle faster that way, you know.
Old Woman: Just remember it's not only Lady Orchis we care about.
Old Woman: If you're ever in any trouble, you can always come back here. This is your home, dear.
Old Woman: This city has been here for thousands of years. And it'll be here for a thousand more if that's how long you want us to wait.
Black Knight: ...!
Vyrn: H-hey! Wait up! Don't leave without us!
Katalina: My apologies, ma'am. We're in a hurry.
Old Woman: Of course, of course. Off you go then.
Old Woman: You there with the blue hair—Lyria was it?
Lyria: Yes, ma'am?
Old Woman: Please take care of Apollo for us.
Lyria: Yes ma'am!
Old Woman: There's a good girl!
Rackam: Let's get outta here, (Captain). We shouldn't let the Black Knight get too far ahead of us.

Act 1: Girl in Blue - Chapter 36: Dead End - Episode 4

Lyria and the Black Knight have a heartfelt conversation about the meaning of being allies.

Black Knight: I can stay in Mephorash no longer!
Black Knight: After the atrocities I committed, I swore to never come back here—dammit!
Black Knight: Until I get her back, how can I call these hands clean? I have nothing left...
Lyria: So that's how you feel.
Black Knight: Lyria...
Lyria: It's okay, Black Knight—no, Apollonia.
Lyria: You have us. We're right here with you.
Black Knight: As if that means anything! You realize we'll be enemies one day, right? We won't walk the same path forever!
Lyria: But we can for now!
Lyria: Maybe someday we'll have to choose different paths.
Lyria: But right now... we're together. It won't last forever, but it should mean something.
Black Knight: You do know what will happen don't you?
Black Knight: One day this hand of mine—that you're so kindly holding—will draw a sword and point it at you. Don't you understand?
Lyria: Of course I understand! But I still want to cherish what we have in this moment!
Black Knight: ...!
Black Knight: Dammit.
Lyria, you're a strong one.
Lyria: Yes. But that's because I have people by my side who make me strong.
Lyria: Guess what? If you're alone, then you won't be a match for anyone.
Black Knight: Hah. You've only just discovered this.
Lyria: Hehe. Yeah. I finally realized it thanks to (Captain).
Lyria: Come on, let's go. Lecia is waiting. And so is Orchis.
Black Knight: You're right. And (Captain), I apologize for this disgraceful display.
Black Knight: Please forget about what you've just seen. Don't even dare remember it.
  1. I’ll forget about it.
  2. How could I forget?

Choose: I’ll forget about it.
Black Knight: Good. You're a nice kid. Don't ever lose that good nature.

Choose: How could I forget?
Black Knight: Have it your way. I'll have to make sure you forget—by cracking your head open like an egg.
Lyria: Th-that's not very nice!
Black Knight: Relax. I was joking... kind of.
Continue 1
Black Knight: It's time to get going. We shouldn't put this duel with Lecia on hold any longer.

Act 1: Girl in Blue - Chapter 36: Dead End - Episode 4: Scene 2

(Captain) and the crew make it back to the Grandcypher. There they meet Lecia, whose resolution is palpable before their rematch begins.

Lecia: You showed up. Didn't run away, huh?
Black Knight: Was there anything that suggested we would?
Lecia: No. But I don't think it was necessarily a wise decision to not run.
Black Knight: Oh? That's quite the statement.
Rackam: Yep... Somethin' is definitely off about her...
Io: Yeah. I wonder what. She makes me uneasy.
Katalina: It takes a long time to improve your swordsmanship.
Katalina: But your form and footwork are determined by your attitude and readiness.
Katalina: And she looks more then ready this time. Don't underestimate her.
Eugen: Well if it's a war of willpower she wants, then she'll get it!
Rosetta: Indeed. It looks like she's a totally different woman.
Black Knight: Come now. Draw your sword—little girl.
Lecia: I'm not a little girl.
Lecia: I am Lecia, Captain of the Fourth Fleet of the Crew of Enforcers!
Black Knight: I like that look in your eyes. What strong determination.
Black Knight: But I won't lose this battle. Come on, (Captain)!
Black Knight: This is a battle of wills! And I promise you that my resolve will last longer than yours!

Act 1: Girl in Blue - Chapter 36: Dead End - Episode 4: Scene 3

After the Black Knight soundly defeats Lecia, the enforcer reveals Freesia's whereabouts.

Lecia: Pant... Pant...
Black Knight: ...
Lecia: I... didn't stand a chance, did I?
Lecia: But you know, for some reason... Hah... I feel so much better now.
Lyria: Haha. Lecia, you're really cute when you smile!
Lecia: What! Um, thanks. I guess...
Lecia: Just hearing that out of the blue is kind of embarrassing.
Lecia: Right. I promised to tell you where Prime Minister Freesia is.
Black Knight: Yes. Where has she taken that doll?
Lecia: Doll? Oh, right. That's what you call Orchis.
Lecia: I'm not certain if she's with the Prime Minister or not.
Lecia: But Freesia was last seen at the Lumacie Archipelago in the Menean Empire.
Katalina: The Lumacie Archipelago?
Upon hearing Freesia's whereabouts, a look of surprise spreads across the crew.
Armed with new information, the crew is ready to head out once more.
