An Archer Dreams of Adventure
In Sutera's hometown, the crew meets Aster, a young girl who longs for the outside world. She has given up leaving due to the customs of her village, but the sympathetic chieftain permits her to join (Captain) and company on their journey.
(Captain) and company bring Sutera, an archer they met on their journey, to her faraway hometown.
Aster, a young girl who will be undergoing the guardian trials, comes from the village to greet Sutera by the docked Grandcypher.
Her eyes sparkle as she stands before the airship.
Aster: Wow...
Vyrn: Huh? What's up, Aster? Why the blank face?
Aster: Oh, sorry about that! Your airship is just so incredible!
Vyrn: You like airships?
Aster: Um, well... This island, Cizierma, has almost no interaction with faraway islands, so airships rarely visit here.
Vyrn: Huh... So that's why the port's so empty.
Aster: As embarrassing as it is to admit, this is actually my first time seeing an airship. It's a little overwhelming...
Aster: This airship soars through the skies and goes to other islands, doesn't it? Amazing!
Aster: Ah! I'm sorry for rambling. You must be tired from your journey! I'll guide you to the village!
Lyria: Hey, Aster. If you'd like, I'd be happy to give you a tour of the Grandcypher!
Aster: Really?
Vyrn: Yeah! This is the first airship you've ever seen, after all. Go check it out!
Aster: Um... Are you okay with this, too, (Captain)?
- Of course.
- It might be boring.
Choose: Of course.Aster: Yay! Thank you so much! I'll be careful not to break anything!
Vyrn: Haha! Don't be so nervous, Aster!
Choose: It might be boring.Aster: No way! I've always wanted to board an airship!
Lyria: Really? Sounds like it's your lucky day then!
Continue 1Lyria: Hehe. This is the entrance. Let's go, Aster!
Aster: I-I really appreciate this!
Aster: The decor is beautiful, and the technology is simply amazing... This really is a majestic airship.
Aster: Even the engine is exceptionally fine-tuned. I can tell you take great care in using it. It's really impressive!
Lyria: Hehe! I'm sure the Grandcypher is happy to be praised like that!
Aster: I know having you show me the engine room and cargo hold was asking a lot. I don't know how to thank you...
Vyrn: Don't sweat it! Most people just aren't interested in seein' that stuff!
Aster: Really? You know, some aspects were different from what I've seen in books. It was fascinating.
Aster: To actually see an airship, a culmination of the technology of the outside world... I just knew it would be amazing.
Aster: The village elders frown upon knowledge and technology from outside the island, but I think they could benefit our village...
Aster: Oh! I-I'm sorry, I got lost in my own thoughts!
Lyria: No worries! You're quite a thinker, aren't you, Aster?
Aster: I had a weak constitution for some time after I was born... So I tried to make myself useful to the village by means of knowledge.
Aster: I studied and studied, hoping that one day I could continue with my education outside the island and learn to help other people.
Lyria: I see! I'm sure you'll be able to do it, Aster!
Aster: Thank you, Lyria! I'll do my best!
Aster: Ah! Sorry for overstaying my welcome. I'll guide you to the village!
Aster leads the crew to the village. When they arrive, the chieftain requests that they hunt down some monsters.
(Captain) and company complete the request and head back to report to the chieftain.
Village Chief: Thank you. Due to the power of The Forbidding One, monsters often gather on this island. You've done us a great service.
Vyrn: Hehe! It was a piece of cake!
Village Chief: Now that you have proven you were not exaggerating your abilities in the slightest, I have another request for you.
Lyria: We're happy to help! Monster hunting again?
Village Chief: Not quite... Come on in here, Aster.
Aster: Right away! Um... What do you need?
Village Chief: You see, Skyfarers... I would like you to allow Aster here to accompany you on your journey.
Village Chief: This girl wishes to learn about the world outside the island. I'd like to make her dream come true.
Aster: What! But, sir... The elders are opposed to that...
Village Chief: The elderly are not in charge of our future. I myself am already an old man. Tomorrow belongs to the young.
Village Chief: While we have the responsibility to lead the young, it is not our place to get in their way.
Aster: Yes... But...
- Do you want to stay in the village?
- Come with us.
Choose: Do you want to stay in the village?Aster: I do love my village. The elders can be a difficult bunch, but that's only because they want what's best for all of us.
Aster: Their example is why I want to learn as much as I can in order to be of use to the village.
Aster: And to do that, I want to see what it's like outside this island!
Choose: Come with us.Aster: Are you sure it's okay? Won't I just get in the way, (Captain)?
Vyrn: Aster! Stop worrying about what everybody else thinks and just tell us what you want to do!
Aster: What I want to do?
Aster: I... I want to see what it's like outside this island!
Continue 2Lyria: Then let's go! In our airship, we can go anywhere together!
Aster: ...!
Okay! I'm sure we'll have a wonderful time!
Aster: I'll study as much as I can... not only for my village, but for your crew too!
Thus it is decided that Aster will join (Captain) and company on their journey.
What will Aster learn from this marvel-filled world? Her adventure has only just begun.
And Today We Rest!
(Captain) and the crew have been kept busy by day-to-day requests. Following Aster's suggestion, they decide to take a day off, and she's eager to make it count. That night, the crew notices Aster getting ready to go into the woods alone and decides to join her for a late stroll.
(Captain)'s crew has been completing daily requests from the Knickknack Shack.
Sierokarte: Thank you so much for delivering this to me!
Aster: We couldn't have done it without you, (Captain)! I think that was the last job for now.
Aster: Um... You've all been working every day lately... Why don't we take a day off on the airship?
Lyria: Good idea. (Captain) really has been working hard!
Sierokarte: Hehe. It's important to rest when you can, (Captain).
With Sierokarte's backing, (Captain)'s crew decides to take the day off.
Aster: So heavy...
Lyria: Huh? What are you doing with all those blankets, Aster?
Aster: Oh, I was going to air them out.
Aster: I just know you'll sleep well if your blankets are fluffy and fresh!
Vyrn: Don't tell me you were gonna hang everybody's blankets by yourself! That's a lot of work!
Aster: Well, I can only do it on a day off, so I thought now might be a good time...
Lyria: At least let me help! We can get it done faster together.
Aster: Thank you, Lyria!
What? You, too, (Captain)? Wait! I'll hold that one!
Aster: Aw... I'm sorry to drag you all into this. It's turned into a big laundry job because of me.
Lyria: Hehe. Don't be silly. I can't wait to sleep with clean sheets and a fluffy blanket!
Aster: Lyria... And you feel the same way, (Captain)? That's a relief!
Vyrn: Let's take it easy for the rest of the day! We can eat apples or somethin'!
Lyria: Huh? Aster, where are you going? It's dark out there.
Aster: Um... I was planning to go to the forest.
Lyria: What! The forest? But it's dangerous to go out so late!
Aster: Um... You see...
Vyrn: Well, if you've got somethin' to do in the forest, what choice do we have? Let's go with her, (Captain)!
Aster: What! B-but it's everyone's day off! I want you to relax today!
- A walk would be nice right now.
- I'll sleep better after some exercise.
Choose: A walk would be nice right now.Lyria: Yeah! It's nice and cool out, so let's all go for a walk together.
Aster: Urgh... I didn't mean to rope you all into this. I'm sorry...
Choose: I'll sleep better after some exercise.Aster: But aren't you all tired? I wouldn't want you to overwork yourselves.
Continue 1Vyrn: Come on, Aster. You worry too much! This is nothin'!
Aster: Are you sure?
Lyria: Hehe! Let's go, Aster. Here... Take my hand!
Aster: Okay! Um... If you don't mind, (Captain), could you hold my other hand?
Thus (Captain)'s crew sets out for a nighttime stroll.
And Today We Rest!: Scene 2
Aster finds what she's looking for in the dark forest—a flower that shines only at night and smells nice when dried. Her initial plan had been to surprise the crew with the flower for their hard work.
Aster: I didn't think we'd run into monsters... Is everyone okay?
Lyria: Don't worry. Everyone's all right.
Aster: Thank goodness... Ah!
Lyria: Wait! What's wrong, Aster?
Aster sees something and runs off. (Captain) and company follow her.
Aster: I found one! I'm glad the vegetation around here is so similar to Cizierma.
Lyria: Wow! That little flower's shining! It's so pretty!
(Captain) and the crew admire a small, glowing flower at the base of a dark tree.
Aster: This type of flower only shines at night, so that's when it's easiest to pick.
Aster: Not only does it smell nice when dried—it also relieves fatigue and prevents bad dreams!
Vyrn: Huh... So this is why you wanted to come here. But why didn't you just tell us?
Aster: Um... I wanted it to be a surprise for everyone.
Lyria: That's why you wanted to go alone... But I'm glad we got to see this flower blooming together!
Vyrn: Yeah! It's not every day you get to see somethin' like this. Let's hang around for a bit before headin' back!
Aster: Okay! To tell you the truth, I was afraid of going into the forest alone. I'm glad you all came with me.
(Captain) and company spend some time enjoying the forest before heading back to the airship.
And Today We Rest!: Scene 3
Thinking back on the day, Aster is disappointed that she created more work for the others in an attempt to do something nice for them. However, (Captain) cheers her up, and she's determined to work hard again the next day.
Aster: Oh... (Captain), it's getting late. Shouldn't you get some sleep?
Aster: Me? Um... I'm getting ready to dry the flower we picked in the forest yesterday.
Aster: If it turns out well, I'll make a potpourri sachet out of it. I hope you'll use it.
Aster: When I was younger, my mom would make them for me whenever I got sick. They really helped!
Aster: I wanted to make one for you so you could sleep better, (Captain)...
Aster: But I ended up making more work for you and the rest of the crew.
As Aster sits with a heavy heart, (Captain) gently pats her on the head.Aster: Wha!
Aster: Your hand is so warm, (Captain)... Hehe. It feels nice.
Aster: Huh? You think it would be cozy to sleep next to each other? But wouldn't I get in your way?
Aster: Well, if that's what you'd like, I'd be happy to join you!
Aster: Hehe. Even without a sachet, I'm sure I'll have nice dreams sharing a blanket with you, (Captain).
Aster: I wanted to do something nice for you, (Captain), but you ended up doing something nice for me instead.
Aster: Oh! I've got an idea! Are your shoulders feeling stiff?
Aster: My dad said I was good at shoulder massages! Leave it to me!
Aster: How's this? Wow... Your shoulders are so tense! That must be really uncomfortable!
Aster: Hehe. Does this feel good? I'm glad I can do something to help.
Aster: I'll do what I can tomorrow, too!
The kindhearted Aster always does her best to make others happy.
Her journey with (Captain) and the crew seems to bring her much joy as well.
