Overview

While an average character over longer fights, Lucius' single-turn burst damage is extremely high. Even without any damage cap increases, Lucius can deal over 9 million damage over three turns with minimal help from other characters. While this process requires a significant number of button clicks, Lucius' burst potential makes him especially valuable in challenge content where turn count is more important than speed.

How to Play

All damage numbers are rough estimates taken from Lucius' character page. Numbers will change depending on your own Damage Cap numbers.

Lucius' burst rotation begins with his Charge Attack. While skills do buff his Charge Attack, the additional 5% cap increase does not equal the damage of a second cast of Demon-Crush250%-300% Dark damage to all foes (Damage cap: ~420,000).

Turn 1

  • Charge Attack (1,650k) = 1,650,000 damage

Now, after the CA, the enemy is now burned, adding additional damage to each Whitefire Blade400%-450% Dark damage to a foe (Damage cap: ~630,000).
Bonus damage to foes with BurnedHP is lowered on every turn
(Damage cap: ~260,000).

Turn 2 (The CA has it's cap increased by 25% due to the 5 skill activations. S1 and S2 activate twice after each CA.)

  • S2 (420k) x2, S1 (630k + 260k) x2, S3 (800k), CA (1,650k) x1.25 = 5,482,500 damage (7,132,500 damage total)

Turn 3

  • S2 (420k) x2, S1 (630k + 260k) x2 = 2,620,000 damage (9,725,500 damage total)

The standard burst combo ends here; over 9.5 million damage in 3 turns with no Skill Damage or Charge Attack Cap increases. If you have Qilin however, the combo extends as follows:

  • Qilin, S3 (800k), CA (1,650k) x1.45 = 3,192,500 damage (12,918,000 damage total)

Turn 4

  • S2 (420k) x2, S1 (630k + 260k) x2 = 2,620,000 damage (15,538,000 damage total)

You can extend the combo for as many turns as you have Qilin summons. With Lyria, you can use two Qilin in one turn. This will be less damage, since you won't be getting the double skill activations after CA, but will give you more damage in fewer turns.

Synergy

Lucius has natural synergy with any and all forms of Skill Damage Cap increases. Some examples include Forte's Sky Supremacy Support Skill, the Alabaster Zenith, and his own Skill Damage Cap EMP nodes, just to name a few. He also pairs well with other characters that synergize with his heavy skill damage playstyle, such as Karyl.

Qilin is especially powerful for Lucius, as it completely resets his burst rotation.

A special mention should be made for Mechanic, which allows Lucius to Charge Attack on turn 1, and unlocks his burst combo as early as turn 2. There are other combinations of classes and characters that allow Lucius to Charge Attack on turn 1 without using Optimized Speed600% Dark damage to a foe (Damage cap: ~800,000).
