That should help me think of some tricks of my own!
3	✔	Trick or treat! (Captain), I thought of a splendid trick. May I try it on you? Hehe, thank you. Here it comes. You see this treat? Are you sure? A one, and a two, and a three— Poof! So which hand do I have it in? Get it right, and it's yours! This one? Okay, here goes nothing... Ta-da! Oopsie, too bad. Nothing in this one! No treat for you, (Captain). My other hand's empty too actually, haha. The correct answer is my sleeves! What's with the long face? Hey, don't look at me with those puppy eyes! Okay, okay! I'll give you the treat, so cheer up already, please!
4	✔	Trick or treat! Would you like to accompany me into town, (Captain)? This year I want to do even more research before I attempt my tricks... 3	✔	Word is that he soars the skies to hand out presents to all the good kids. A cold northerly wind blows during these nights. It even snows sometimes. I wonder if Santa Claus can read the winds. It worries me a bit... Do you know how I might be able to meet him? Surely there's a thing or two I can help him with. Hm? The kids on the crew already have their share of presents, so there's no need? Sorry, I didn't know you were helping to deliver the presents too. 5	✔	(Captain), I've been pondering something for a while now. How does Santa Claus fly through the air? Oh! What if, what if he's some sort of immensely powerful mage? If so, I bet being a wind shaman qualifies me to become his apprentice. What do you think, (Captain)? I hope I get to meet him one day! You'll help me find him, won't you, (Captain)?

Praying to the Wind

The crew stops at the mountain home of the wind shamans. A man pretending to be a wind shaman cons them into buying a fake charm, but a true wind shaman named Petra chases him off. Upon learning that wind shamans can predict the weather, the crew asks Petra to join them.

During their travels, (Captain) and the crew come to a secluded mountain village where the people known as wind shamans live.

Wind shamans are famed for their skills in weather prediction—skills they employ to keep skyfarers safe.

Lyria: Yay! Yay! It's the wind shaman village! The breeze feels so good!

Vyrn: Yeah! Let's hurry and get some of those blessings for a safe journey!

Katalina: Haha! No need to be in such a rush, Vyrn! We need to find a capable wind shaman first.

Suspicious Man: Erm... excuse me! Are you skyfarers?

Vyrn: Hmm? Who are you, old-timer? Are you talking to us?

Suspicious Man: Yes, you... You people there, with the red lizard and blue-haired girl...

Vyrn: You need somethin'? And by the way, I ain't no lizard!

Suspicious Man: Hmmm... You people are looking for a wind shaman, right?

Lyria: Wh-whoa! How did you know?!

Vyrn: Easy, Lyria. Why else would we come here?

Suspicious Man: Oho... You there, the lady in armor! You're not only beautiful, but your swordsmanship is honed as well...

Katalina: What? Me? B-beautiful?

Suspicious Man: That's right! Strong and beautiful—the ideal woman. And that girl with the blue hair... That otherworldly beauty... It's nothing short of a miracle!

Lyria: Hehehe! A miracle? Y-you're exaggerating! Isn't he, (Captain)?

Vyrn: Hey, Lyria! You're not fooling anyone, you know!

Suspicious Man: Sigh... It worries me to think that such lovely women are traveling aboard an airship. Not to mention there was that dark shadow...

Lyria: Huh? What do you mean? What dark shadow...?

Suspicious Man: I glimpsed a dark shadow hanging over your airship. At this rate, something bad is sure to happen...

Katalina: What did you say? What should we do about it?

Suspicious Man: Well, I'm somewhat of a famous wind shaman in these parts. I could attach this charm to your airship and protect it from disaster...

Lyria: Please, sir! Please let us have that charm!

Suspicious Man: But... I can't just give it to you for free. Then again, perhaps fate brought us together. I'll let you have it at a special discount!

Katalina: Thank you very much. I'll be glad to pay your price, since you're being so considerate.

Suspicious Man: Whew... That's a relief. Now your journey will be a safe one! And with that, I'll be on my way.

Vyrn: Hey! Is that it?

Petra: P-please wait!

Vyrn: What's up? You need us for something?

Petra: Th-that man is an impostor pretending to be a wind shaman in order to con skyfarers!

Vyrn: Say what! An impostor?

Suspicious Man: What! D-don't be absurd, girl! Where's your proof? For all we know, you could be an impostor!

Petra: You... You don't have a wind spirit...

Petra: We wind shamans... We can hear the words of the wind spirits...

Suspicious Man: Eeek...! Y-you monster!

Petra: If... If you dare defile the wind shamans' name any further, I will show you no mercy!

Suspicious Man: Yeeek! Okay, okay! I'll return their money, so please forgive me!

Petra: Phew... What a relief...

Lyria: Oh my gosh... To think he was a con man...

Katalina: Nngh... How could I fall for that?

Vyrn: We really owe you one! So who are you, exactly?

Petra: I... am Petra, a wind shaman and resident of this village.

Petra: All right, I suppose I don't mind, but... Sigh.

Vyrn: Huh? Is something wrong? What's with the big sigh?

Petra: You see, originally, a wind shaman's duty was to ride aboard an airship and do wind readings, or in other words, predict the weather mid-flight.

Petra: But now there are so few of us that hardly anyone does that anymore... Instead we pray for airships' safety without ever leaving the comfort of our homes... How can we call ourselves wind shamans this way?

Petra: (Captain)! I'm still inexperienced, but... I'm looking forward to working with you all!

And so the wind shaman Petra joined the crew.

A new wind fills the Grandcypher's sails, speeding it toward its destination at the far ends of the skies.

Temple of Trials

By Petra's request, the party heads to the Temple of the Wind Spirit. By passing the trials there, she will gain new power as a wind shaman. But on their way there, Petra and the crew are surrounded by monsters.

Petra makes a rare request for a course change, and the Grandcypher heads for a certain forest.

Guided by Petra, the crew heads to the Temple of the Wind Spirit deep in the forest.

Vyrn: Hey, what kind of place is this Temple of the Wind Spirit?

Petra: It's a place where wind shamans go to train.

Petra: If we can overcome the trials given to us at the temple, we will be blessed with new power.

Petra: I want to pass the trials and become even stronger than I am now!

Lyria: Wow! Petra, you're amazing! We'll be rooting for you!

Vyrn: Yeah! You've come a long way since we met!

Katalina: Very true. Petra has grown much stronger.

Petra: That's not true. I'm still afraid of monsters... I'm still green...

Katalina: Haha... Don't be so hard on yourself. Think of it this way—without fear to overcome, there would be no such thing as bravery.

Petra: I suppose... That means a lot, coming from you. Hehe...

Vyrn: What the... Hey! We're surrounded by monsters!

Temple of Trials: Scene 2

Guided by Petra's staff, the party arrives at the Temple of the Wind Spirit. Inside, Petra raises her staff to begin the trials. Suddenly, monsters appear.

Petra: I suppose maybe I've grown a little stronger. Hehehe.

Katalina: That's the spirit, Petra. You need to have more confidence in yourself!

Petra: Hehe... Thank you, Katalina.

Petra: Hm?

Guided by Petra's staff, they find the temple in the middle of a clearing.

When Petra stands before the temple's entrance, the heavy doors open as if resonating with her staff.

The crew cautiously enters.

Petra: This... is the Temple of the Wind Spirit.

Vyrn: This is amazing... I feel something powerful inside...

Katalina: What's wrong, Lyria? Why are you frowning?

Lyria: Um... It just feels... strange.

Katalina: Yes... It's as if the very air is filled with some strange power...
Petra, are you all right?

Petra: Y-yes... Here I go...

Petra raises her staff in the middle of the temple, and a powerful whirlwind whips up around them.

Petra: Ahh!

Vyrn: What's going on here?

Lyria: I sense... monsters! Petra! Are you alright?

Petra: E-everyone! This is the trial that I must overcome! Leave this to me!

Katalina: Ugh... (Captain)! We have to help Petra!

Temple of Trials: Scene 3

After defeating the monsters as part of her trial, Petra obtains a new power: the divine protection of the wind spirit. Petra expresses her desire to fly the skies freely. Renewing their resolve, Petra and the crew resume their journey.

Vyrn: H-hey, you okay, guys?

Katalina: I'm fine! Never mind me. Lyria, Petra, are you all right?

Lyria: I'm fine. I was just a little surprised.

Petra: Y-yes, I'm fine, too!

Vyrn: What the heck is going on? Was that the Wind Spirit's trial?

Lyria: I don't know... But now you'll gain a new power, right, Petra?

Petra: Could this be... the Wind Spirit?

Vyrn: Whoooa! Petra is glowing!

Katalina: It looks like the Wind Spirit itself is putting in an appearance this time.

Lyria: Yes! Now Petra's wish will be granted!

Petra: This is my... new power... I can feel the divine protection of the Wind Spirit...

Vyrn: You know... You've gotten a lot bolder than when we first met you!

Petra: Haha... Oh, Vyrn. Do you know how wind shamans used to live?

Vyrn: No, how?

Petra: Just as our name implies, to a wind shaman, the wind is everything. The shamans of old not only prayed to the wind—they lived like the wind. Wild and free.

And so the wind shaman Petra renews her resolve and takes to the skies in search of new and greater freedom.
