Happy Birthday Cutscenes
# Link Text
1

Today certainly is an important day.
We primal beasts don't age like you do.
However, it brings me great joy to watch over you as you grow older.
Congratulations again, (Captain). I hope the next year brings you even more personal discovery.

2

You're one year older now, (Captain). Happy birthday.
You know, when I saw Rackam again after all those years, I was surprised at how mature he had become.
Much like I did, I'm sure he'll enjoy watching you grow into an adult too.
I know that you still have a lot of room for growth, after all.
So don't be afraid. Continue to progress forward in your life.

3

Happy birthday, (Captain). You grow more worldly day by day.
When I compare one year spent alone on Golonzo...
And one year traveling with you and the crew, time feels completely different despite having the same number of days.
It's not just me who thinks that way. Everyone in the crew considers each day spent with you to be a special one.
So I do hope you continue your fun journey with everyone aboard the Grandcypher.

4

(Captain), your birthday always sees the whole crew taking part in celebrations. It feels like a festival in your honor.
Could there be any clearer sign of how beloved you are?
Allow me to wish you a happy birthday once again, (Captain).
As you can see from the sight of the Grandcypher today...
You've affected so many people this year, (Captain).
This seems to be a clear sign of your growth.
I look forward to seeing you develope ever more, (Captain).

5

So your birthday has come again. It seems you've grown a little more.
You've become stronger... or should I say, you were bound to become stronger from the many battles you've encountered.
And surely, many more await you... But you must not forget.
Among the many hardships, you have us. You have friends that hold you close to their hearts.
You have a place to which you can return—this ship, and your friends on this ship, are always here waiting for you.
Remember this when you are faced with a difficult trial.
Once again, happy birthday, (Captain). I look forward to our upcoming travels together.

Happy New Year Cutscenes

1

Happy New Year.
So, (Captain), are we all ready to go for a stroll to the shrine?
Oh dear. You look sleep-deprived. Just what were you up to last night...
Ah, you stayed up late with Rackam and the others.
Hmm, you can't go out in public looking like that, sleepyhead.
Go wash your face and get ready. I'll wake up Rackam and the others in the meantime.

2

Happy New Year. Very well, let's go, then. No, not to the temple.
Hehe. You sure look mystified right now.
I'd like you to accompany me to the annual celebration of our ship before its first flight of the year.
This ceremony is extremely important for the ship.
And as the captain, I would like you to be there alongside Rackam as he stands at the helm.
Hehe. But don't worry. It's not exactly a formal affair.
The first winds of the new year will be glorious. As long as you have a good time, I'll be very pleased.

3

Happy New Year, (Captain).
I assume you've gotten your fortune for the year already?
You can't overlook the fact that navigating the skies requires a bit of luck here and there.
Besides, who wouldn't be happy with a positive outcome?
Well, whatever the outcome, good or bad, I'll always be with you and the Grandcypher.
That's why I want you to continue your journey with peace of mind.

4

Happy New Year.
So what do you say we take our first flight of the year? Beginnings are everything after all.
It could be fun to wish for good fortune with a jaunt through the sky, and divine our fate this year in the clouds there.
It wouldn't be fair to keep Rackam waiting! What do you say we get going?

5

Happy New Year, (Captain).
Well, shall we go on our first flight of the year?
Although it's something we do every year, we mustn't grow careless.
The first flight of the year is not only to pray for safety on our journey, but to make ourselves aware of the importance in staying safe as well.
The captain is charge of the crew, and the helmsman is in charge of the ship. Safety should be of utmost importance to both.
Heheh... You don't have to be so nervous. You're always putting the crew first, aren't you, (Captain)?
Don't worry—this will only be a confirmation of your feelings toward your fellow crew members.

Valentine's Day Cutscenes

1

Why are you giving me chocolates? Oh, it's that special day of the year.
You're... a curious one, (Captain), going out of your way to give this to me.
But of course I'm very happy. Thank you. I'll definitely eat each and every one.

2

Hmm? What is it, (Captain)?
Chocolate? Oh, right. Today is Valentine's Day.
Thank you. Hehe. Indeed, I appreciate your gift.
It seems the entire ship is filled with good tidings today.
I understand how everyone feels. If I got a gift like this from you, I would hardly be capable of concealing my joy.

3

Ah, that's right. It's Valentine's Day. Thank you, (Captain).
Haha. The airship is full of cheer just like it was last year. You can tell immediately.
I've lived for a long time, being a primal beast and all.
And I must say it's rare to find someone that can bring happiness to so many people.
When you gave me these chocolates, there was no doubt in my mind that you were one of those rarities.

4

Oh now? Are you going to give me chocolates again this year?
Thank you very much. I'm delighted.
But now that there are more crew members, it must be tough to hand these out to everyone.
Since you're giving me chocolates in this way...
I imagine these must really be something special.

5

Hm? What is it, (Captain)? Did you need something from me?
Heheh... I'm sorry, I know—it's Valentine's Day today, isn't it? I was just pretending for a second.
You see, I found myself looking forward to perhaps receiving some chocolate from you, (Captain).
But it seems I was being too obvious... Quite embarrassing, I must say.
Only the ship and Rackam have been able to throw me off like that up until now.
But I'm really happy to receive this from you, (Captain). Thank you for everything.

White Day Cutscenes
# Link Text
1

There's something I want to give you today, (Captain).
Honestly I'm not confident about it.
It's my first time making a White Day present after all. But if you're happy, then I'm happy.

2

Oh, (Captain). I've been looking for you.
Would you accept this present from me? I remembered how you gave me something on Valentine's Day.
Soon the warmth will return to the sky, though it may be hindered by the winds of spring...
It took quite a bit of work to find this present for you. But if it brings a smile to your face, then my effort has all been worthwhile.

3

White Day is a day to give a return gift to show one's appreciation.
This year I wanted to put more effort into making something compared to last time.
Haha. It turned out to be rather fun. Maybe I'm a perfectionist at heart.
For a primal beast who reigns over shipbuilding, I was able to put my all into making something that wasn't an airship.
I think it was all thanks to wanting to see the look of happiness on your face, (Captain).

4

Here's my White Day's present for you this year... Will you accept it?
Since you gave me those Valentine's Day chocolates, I've been thinking about the best way to return the favor.
It was tough to put together anything that I could really get behind... I almost wish I'd had more time.
Heh-heh... Imagine that, a primal beast like me wishing for more time...
I might've overdone this a bit, but... I do hope that you enjoy it.

5

It's White Day today, isn't it? It was difficult choosing this year's present as well.
I tried asking Rackam and the others on the ship for ideas, since they know you so well...
But in the end, I realized I should be thinking and making the decision myself.
After all, it's something through which I convey my feelings to you.
With that said, I've poured all of my gratitude and affection for you into this present. Will you accept it?

Trick or Treat Cutscenes

1

Oh, perfect timing, (Captain).
Hehe. If you're with me, (Captain), then we'll have the power of a hundred people. Okay, let's have a fun Halloween.

2

Oh? Trick or treat? I'm in trouble now.
I just gave my last cookie to Rackam. I'm fresh out of candy.
It looks like I'm going to have to accept whatever trick you plan to play now.
But it's the battle of the tricks that I find to be the best part of Halloween.
Now I'll have to see what you can do!

3

Hmm... I've thoroughly checked his favorite haunt and nothing. As for other places he might be...
Oh, hello, (Captain). You seem like you're enjoying your Halloween.
By the way, have you seen Rackam by any chance?
I thought he might have actually left his room and joined the festivities for once.
But I haven't seen him at all. I think he might be in town somewhere. Will you help me look for him?
Hehe... And once we find him, you and I are going to trick him good.

4

Come to think of it, you hardly dress up at all, (Captain).
To tell the truth, I'd considered donning a costume but was stopped by Rackam.
You're wondering what sort I had my sights on?
Well, of course, I was going to be the Grandcypher.
But Rackam insisted it wasn't a Halloween costume but rather a mascot suit.
As for me, I thought it was an ingenious idea...

5

Haha... It seems you are having a lot of fun this Halloween, (Captain).
Believe it or not, I'm enjoying it a lot myself.
You know how I decorated the Grandcypher to match the Halloween season?
In fact, I included a few tricks with the decorations.
I tested it out on Rackam first, and he graced me with a most fascinating reaction.
I hope you'll enjoy it too, (Captain).

Happy Holidays Cutscenes
# Link Text
1

Happy holidays to you, (Captain).
Tonight Santa Claus appears before all the good children bearing gifts.
Have you been good this year as well, (Captain)?
Hehe. Well, you're a little too old to be bound by those rules anymore.
I do have a present for you though. It's not from Santa, but I hope it'll do.

2

So (Captain), do you know how Santa delivers all those presents?
According to one local legend, he travels the sky on a sleigh pulled by reindeer.
In any case he manages to do it all in just one night. As a primal beast that builds ships, I have to admit I'm intrigued.
Just once I'd like to see Santa riding around on his sleigh...
Hehe. What a strange thing to talk about. Let's just set that aside and enjoy the night before us.

3

Happy holidays, (Captain).
Preparations for this year's celebration have taken quite some time. Looks like we'll just be able to make it though.
What's taking so long? Well, the sleigh of course.
It was constructed for a dignified shipwright of a primal beast.
I don't know if it'll be able to go around the world in a single night, but it's definitely speedy.
I'll see if Rackam's up to play Santa Claus, but...
Well, it'd be great if you could lend a hand too, (Captain).

4

Ah, (Captain), what perfect timing.
As a matter of fact, I was just looking for you. I have a bit of a request to make.
Do you remember the sleigh I made last year?
This year I've modified it to release snow from the bottom.
Snow reduces friction when traveling across the ground anyway.
We can make it snow as we advance through the sky.
I'd like to use the sled to deliver presents to the children of the order.
Would you mind lending me a hand, (Captain)?

5

(Captain), would you be able to help in handing out presents to the children again this year?
I'd like to ask both you and Rackam to play Santa this year.
This time, I've prepared some mechanical reindeers as part of the sleigh.
Though I'm afraid the reindeer will make the maximum speed of the sleigh slower compared to last year...
I thought to prioritize the aspect of fun over performance, you see.
Well then, if you're ready, let's go and spread smiles on the children's faces!

A Crewmate's Worst Fear

With the Grandcypher's repairs complete, the crew prepare to continue their journey to Estalucia, but Noa worries about what they'll find there. He thinks of parting with the crew, but his old friend Rackam instead convinces him to join officially.

Noa: Are you guys really going to depart already?
Vyrn: Yep! The Island of the Astrals is waiting for us!
With the repairs to the Grandcypher complete, (Captain) and company are preparing to embark to the next island.
Noa: Oh, right... Estalucia is the objective of your journey, isn't it?
Lyria: Yes! Though we're also running away from the Erste Empire.
Vyrn: Heh-heh... And that's not all! (Captain)'s father is waiting for us on the Island of the Astrals!
Noa: I see... He's there, huh?
Lyria: And I think I'll finally learn who I really am when we get there.
Noa: Lyria, on some level, you sense what your fate will be, don't you?
Noa: I understand how difficult it is to resist the urge to know the truth about yourself...
Noa: But the truth cuts as coldly and sharply as any blade.
Lyria: What? Um...
Noa: Let me put it bluntly... I don't think you should continue your journey.
Vyrn: What? What in the skies do you mean by that?
Noa: The truth you seek at the edge of the sky will not necessarily make you happy.
Noa: As a matter of fact, the truth of the Astrals will bring you suffering.
Noa: Some truths have only the power to make people unhappy.
Noa: I don't want to see you sad, and I don't want to do anything to bring you such sadness.
Lyria: But we've come so far!
Noa: If you're worried about the Erste Empire, there's really no need.
Noa: As twisted as that country is, there are many ways to fool them and get them off your trail.
Vyrn: Hold it! But what about the letter from (Captain)'s father?
Noa: Children don't have to follow in their parents' footsteps. Why not blaze a new trail?
Noa: And you know what else, Vyrn, my little friend? You can't go on as a mere bystander.
Noa: I fear that you'll find the truth awaiting you on the Island of the Astrals almost impossible to accept.
Vyrn: What?
Noa: So—
Rackam: Noa, do me a favor and start treating us with a little respect.
Noa: Rackam...
Rackam: Really now... Noa, what is it that you claim to know?
Noa: A truth that you cannot even imagine.
Rackam: And that's it? I don't know how much you're exaggerating about this truth, but what do you really know about our future?
Noa: Well, I know that the truth of the Astrals will definitely bring you—
Rackam: Let me tell you what I know. I know we won't be defeated by the so-called truth.
Rackam: And I know you can't see the future. So why don't you come with us?
Rackam: Listen up, Noa! Your concerns are groundless, and we'll prove it!
Noa: Rackam... Heh-heh. You never change.
Noa: Even though the promise you made so recklessly has grounded the Grandcypher.
Noa: You really haven't grown much, have you? You're still the same guy I've always known.
Rackam: No... Well, maybe you have a point...
Noa: Heh-heh. That was a little mean of me, wasn't it?
Noa: It's okay. Your recklessness might be a character defect, but I like it.
Noa: So there you have it, Captain.
Noa: Your fine helmsman has invited me to join your crew.
Noa: So how about it? Think you could find any room for me?
  1. Of course.
  2. We'd absolutely love to have you aboard!

Choose: Of course.
Noa: Thank you. I will spare no effort in my role as a member of your crew.

Choose: We'd absolutely love to have you aboard!
Noa: Heh-heh... Quite a warm reception. It feels good to be wanted.
Continue 1
Rackam: Sheesh. You worried me for a second there.
Noa: You're all so important to me, which is why I needed to warn you.
Noa: Heh-heh... But I can't help but remember my past travels.
Noa: I wonder what sort of journey awaits me this time. This should be fun.
Thus Noa is welcomed to the crew by (Captain) and company.
Though they have no way of knowing what sort of truth awaits them on Estalucia, they resume their journey with new resolve.

Secret of the Grandcypher

Vyrn and company see Noa talking to a pillar, but he says he's talking to the airship itself. Noa says he has learned that unsuitable materials were used to repair the ship, so the crew decides to search for better ones.

Noa: Hmm... Interesting.
Noa: Heh-heh. Yeah, of course I realize that.
Noa: That's no good. All right, I'll take care of it.
Lyria: Huh? Noa? What are you doing here?
Vyrn: Hey... Weren't you just talking to that pillar?
Noa: Yeah. Apparently it's not doing so well.
Vyrn: What the? Is chatting up pillars something you do?
Noa: Ah... Looks like there's a bit of confusion.
Noa: I wasn't talking to the pillar... I was talking to the Grandcypher.
Lyria: What? You can talk to the Grandcypher?
Noa: Heh-heh. Of course. I'm a ship-building primal beast after all.
Vyrn: Yeah? Then tell us what you two were talking about!
Noa: Heh-heh... Well, the details are between me and the Grandcypher.
Noa: But it seems the airship is a bit distressed.
Noa: The materials used in repairs have apparently been agitating it.
Vyrn: Wow, sounds like it pays to talk to the ship once in a while!
Lyria: So why don't we find materials the Grandcypher likes better?
Lyria: That'd be a great way to thank the ship for everything it's done for us!
Noa: That's a good idea. I'm sure it'll make the Grandcypher happy.
Vyrn: Okay! It's settled then. Let's go, (Captain)!

Secret of the Grandcypher: Scene 2

To find better materials for the Grandcypher, (Captain) and company visit the Lumacie Archipelago. As a skilled shipwright, Noa wants to personally select the tree to use, and the crew ends up going deep into a forest with him in search of just the right one.

(Captain) and company make their way to the Lumacie Archipelago in search of materials fit for the Grandcypher.
Noa: No, not this tree. There's got to be a better one somewhere.
Lyria: Amazing! You can tell which tree will go well with the Grandcypher?
Noa: Building ships is my specialty, and that includes picking the right materials.
Noa: Besides, the Grandcypher is special. Only lumber from a very special tree will do.
Vyrn: Well? Any chance of finding said tree around here?
Noa: I think not. Too many different types of trees have grown here, so I can't find one that's pure enough.
Noa: We'll probably have better luck if we go deeper into the forest.
Vyrn: Okay! Let's keep going then!
Lyria: Yeah! Let's do it, (Captain)!

Secret of the Grandcypher: Scene 3

In the depths of the forest, the crew finds a tree planted by the people of Estalucia, and they use it to repair the Grandcypher. Noa reveals that he built the ship in Estalucia to invade the skydoms.

(Captain)'s crew reaches the depths of the forest.
Noa pauses in front of a small grove of trees.
Noa: Hmm... One of these should work.
Noa: Though I'm honestly surprised that there are any left.
Noa: Heh-heh... This smell brings back memories. It's been so long.
(Captain) and company take a tree from the grove.
They then use it to repair the Grandcypher.
Lyria: Wow! It feels like the Grandcypher is more energetic than usual!
Noa: Yeah, the ship is indeed in a good mood. It's grateful to you all for your help.
Vyrn: Hmm... So that means the Grandcypher was built in Lumacie, right?
Noa: Not exactly. It was actually built somewhere much farther away.
Noa: But there are still a few trees that were planted by the Astrals long ago in the depths of Lumacie's forest.
Vyrn: Huh? Whaddya mean?
Noa: The Grandcypher was made in Estalucia.
Noa: As a ship-building primal beast, the Astrals originally had me make it as the flagship for their fleet.
Noa: That fleet was for invading the skydoms, but...
Noa: It eventually ended up washing up in Port Breeze.
Vyrn: Whoa! Then going to the Island of the Astrals will be a homecoming for the Grandcypher, huh?
Noa: You could say that. Heh-heh... A homecoming after several hundred years.
Lyria: Then that's all the more reason to get to the Island of the Astrals!
Lyria: Hee-hee. Time to take you home, Grandcypher!

On Waves of Grace

(Captain) and the crew continue their voyage aboard the Grandcypher. One day, the airship suddenly becomes unresponsive, and makes an emergency landing on a nearby island. The shipwright primal beast Noa inspects the condition of the Grandcypher and reports that although it cannot fly in its present state, there is still hope. The crew head for the isle of Golonzo in the hopes of finding a way to repair the grounded Grandcypher.

With (Captain) and the crew on board, the Grandcypher cuts a path through the clear blue skies.
While everyone is on a break, Noa sits alone on the deck, his brow deeply furrowed.
Noa: ...
Noa: So this is it. The time has finally come...
Lyria: Huh? You look pretty serious. Is something bothering you?
Noa: No, but thanks for asking. It's just something that can't be helped. Something unavoidable.
Lyria: Oh? What is it?
Rackam: We're in trouble! Is there an island nearby?
Lyria: Wh-what happened? What's the rush?
Rackam: It's the Grandcypher... We're losing altitude—fast!
Lyria: Oh no!
Rackam: Hurry! Prepare for an emergency landing!
Noa: ...
The Grandcypher makes an emergency landing on a nearby island.
And then the ship won't budge no matter what Rackam tries.
Rackam: I give up. I can't get so much as a murmur out of the ol' girl.
Vyrn: Hey, what's going on? Don't tell me the Grandcypher's broken down?
Eugen: No, there's nothing wrong with the ship as far as I can see.
Io: Hmm... So it's not broken down, but it just won't fly. Is that what you're saying?
Katalina: What could it be? Noa, what do you think?
Noa: Hmm... It seems the Grandcypher won't be taking off for the time being.
Noa: But that doesn't mean the situation is hopeless. Everything depends on you guys.
Rosetta: Hee-hee... Well, there's nothing to worry about then, is there?
Rackam: Yeah. Did you think we were going to just abandon the Grandcypher?
Noa: Heh-heh... No, the thought didn't cross my mind for even a second.
Noa: It's just that it helps to hear you guys say it sometimes.
Noa: I hope you'll forgive a bit of selfishness on my part now and then.
Eugen: Ha-ha! You kiddin'? We're touched! Right, guys?
Katalina: And? What can we do to get the Grandcypher moving again?
Noa: Oh... Well, first we should head to Golonzo.
Noa: They should have what we need there.
Vyrn: Of course! That island's the place to bring in ships for repair!
Katalina: Indeed. First let's head for the town that we saw from the air. I'm sure we can hitch a ride on an airship there.
(Captain) and the crew catch a ride in the town aboard an airship that's headed straight for Golonzo.
But Noa's stern expression doesn't soften once during the trip.

On Waves of Grace: Scene 2

Once (Captain) and company reach Golonzo Island, Noa tells them no repairs are necessary. Because the Grandcypher has completed its original mission, it's necessary for them assign a new mission in front of Mithra, a primal beast that governs contracts and promises.

(Captain) and company ride someone else's airship to Golonzo.
Shipwright: Hey. Crashed your ship again, huh? You're always ruining my good work.
Rackam: That's enough from you! Sorry to ask you this, but do you have any spare workers who could lend us a hand?
Noa: That won't be necessary, Rackam.
Rackam: Huh? What do you mean? We can't just repair our ship on our own.
Noa: It's okay. Just trust me on this one and follow me.
Noa sets off for the town without another word.
Rackam: Hey! Where're you going?
Eugen: Hmm... Why do I think we're in for some trouble?
Noa guides the rest of the crew to an old dock.
Vyrn: Huh? What's so special about this place?
Lyria: ...!
I can sense a primal beast here!
Mithra: ...
Noa: Greetings. It's been a while, hasn't it? We're here today to avail ourselves of your power.
Lyria: Huh? This one seems quiet. It doesn't seem like it's rampaging.
Noa: And thank goodness for that. We'd be in trouble if it were otherwise.
Rackam: Hey, Noa, could you just tell us what it is you have in mind?
Noa: Why, the restoration of the Grandcypher of course.
Vyrn: But how are we gonna repair the ship without workers?
Noa: I'm afraid the ship has already been repaired as much as it can be.
Noa: The Grandcypher, you see, has run out of power.
Rackam: What do you mean?
Noa: The Grandcypher no longer has any power remaining to fly.
Noa: Even I can't do anything about that—because the ship isn't technically broken.
Noa: You see, the Grandcypher was originally built by the Astrals to invade this world.
Noa: Having served its purpose, the airship was designed to sink to the depths once its remaining power was used up.
Lyria: That's such a waste...
Rackam: Now hold on just a minute! So you're saying that the Grandcypher is done?
Noa: Well, in a manner of speaking. That's why I brought you here.
Noa: There are no repairs that could send the Grandcypher back to the skies.
Noa: That's why I need all of you to help with the ship's rebirth.
Rackam: What exactly does that mean?
Noa: As the passengers of the Grandcypher, you're going to give her a new mission.
Noa: And when the primal beast Mithra grants you that wish...
Noa: Mithra's absolute power will give the Grandcypher new energy, which will last until the ship's new mission is complete.
Rackam: I see... So you're saying we have to vow to Mithra to continue flying with the Grandcypher.
Noa: Yes. And you'll need to promise never to abandon your mission.
Rackam: Huh. So it's as easy as that. How about it, (Captain)?
Vyrn: I'm game! We've been through too much with the Grandcypher to give it up!
Noa: Heh-heh... I knew you guys would say that.
Noa: Well then, now is the time for you to demonstrate your determination to take on the skies!

On Waves of Grace: Scene 3

(Captain) and company defeat Mithra and pledge to reach the sky's edge no matter what. Noa then gives the reborn ship his shipwright's blessing, and they find the airship floating above them.

Mithra: ...
Noa: Now make your vow to Mithra.
Rackam: Right. Here we go then. Ahem... We vow to get to the sky's edge no matter what. Right, (Captain)?
  1. Yes, and we'll do it on the Grandcypher.
  2. Yes, and we'll do it together.

Choose: Yes, and we'll do it on the Grandcypher.
Choose: Yes, and we'll do it together.
Mithra: ...
Io: Hey, will this really enable the Grandcypher to fly again?
Noa: Mithra will certainly uphold its side of the bargain. Now it's my turn.
Noa: I, the ship-building primal beast, do hereby bless the reborn Grandcypher as it embarks on its new voyage.
Noa: Heh-heh... Take a look up there.
(Captain) and the crew look up at the sky, and, sure enough, the Grandcypher is floating above them.
Vyrn: Whoa! It's the Grandcypher...
Noa: Indeed. The necessary ceremonies are complete. The Grandcypher is good to go.
Noa: Your vow and the blessing of yours truly have given the ship a new lease on life.
Noa: I believe—No, I'm certain that the Grandcypher will carry you to the sky's edge.
Noa: Heh-heh... I'll even give you my personal guarantee on it this time.
Noa laughs as if to emphasize his words.
Pulsating with its new energy, the Grandcypher continues its steady course across the skies.

The Vessel of Wishes

(Captain) and company stay in Golonzo to continue servicing the Grandcypher, but they suddenly hear a commotion at the airship port. Some skyfarers are trying to destroy everyone's ships, so the crew rushes to the aid of the shipwrights.

Rackam: All right! We've replenished all of the supplies, so we're all set to go!
Noa: Hee-hee... Thanks to you, everything's as shipshape as ever. I can tell the Grandcypher is pleased too.
Rackam: Heh-heh! Well, we're going to be relying on her for some time to come, so I can't slack off now!
(Captain) and company have resurrected the Grandcypher with their new vow to it.
They have stayed on Golonzo to inspect and service the revived airship.
Lyria: Hee-hee... Thanks to its revival, the Grandcypher is almost like a brand-new ship!
Vyrn: Yeah, almost. It still looks the same though, so it doesn't really seem like it's been reborn.
Noa: I know what you mean. It would have been nice to renew its appearance as well.
Noa: But I like how Rackam has patched up the old Grandcypher.
Noa: I think even the tracks and scars left by shoddy repair jobs are beautiful, so I prefer the ship as it is.
Rackam: Hey, watch it! You got some nerve calling my work shoddy with a straight face.
Noa: Hee-hee... I never said anything about your repairs.
Vyrn: Heh-heh... Noa, you really like the Grandcypher, huh?
Noa: I guess so. For me, the Grandcypher is—
Rackam: What was that? I think I just heard a gunshot from over there.
Shipwright: Help! Some skyfarers are attacking the port! They're smashing up everyone's ships!
Noa: That sounds serious. (Captain), we should lend a hand.

The Vessel of Wishes: Scene 2

The skyfarers rampaging in the port are about to smash up the warships and other heavily-armed craft, in order to rid the skies of war. Although Noa shows some sympathy for the skyfarers' claim to righteousness, he points out to them that the important question is not whether the airships should exist, but to what use they are put. His argument falls on deaf ears however, and the crew faces off against the skyfarers.

(Captain) and the crew face off against the skyfarers who were about to start doggedly smashing up the ships in the port.
Rackam: Hey! Stop that! What do you think you're doing?
Noa: We cannot just stand by and let you destroy these ships.
Skyfarer 1: Why you... You think you can save these ships? Are you really so deeply in love with war?
Noa: What are you trying to say?
Skyfarer 2: Damn it all... These are warships loaded with weapons, and we won't stand for it!
Skyfarer 1: That's right! We're the good guys here! To free the skies of war, we must be rid of these infernal machines!
Noa: So in other words...
Noa: You're saying that you're going to destroy all warships and any ships that have armaments to rid the skies of fighting?
Skyfarer 1: You got it. Ours is the side of justice!
Rackam: Perhaps, but that doesn't give you the right to just smash up these airships.
Noa: He's right. Though of course airships have on occasion fanned the flames of war.
Rackam: Hey, Noa! Whose side are you on?
Noa: I too once harbored doubts about the way airships are used.
Noa: But when I first came to Golonzo, I met a boy who taught me something important.
Noa: Each one of these airships is built so beautifully, with such passion and yearning. An airship itself knows no sin.
Noa: The important question is not whether an airship should exist but rather how it is used.
Noa: I think you skyfarers already understand that, do you not?
Skyfarer 1: Enough! Our cause is just! That makes us the good guys, and we'll crush anyone who disagrees!
Vyrn: Sheesh. There's just no reasoning with these guys.
Noa: So it seems.
Noa: I feel sorry for them. But it seems that to protect these blameless airships, we will need to subdue these skyfarers by force.

The Vessel of Wishes: Scene 3

Having handed the skyfarers over to the port guards, the crew listen to the story of what happened leading up to Noa's first meeting with the young Rackam. Back then Noa was shaken by the thought that the ships he had built had been used in wars that had brought misery to many, and he lost faith in his abilities. At that point he met Rackam, who was still a child then, and it was the young boy's words that convinced Noa that there was a future for him as a shipwright, and his self-belief was restored. Noa smiles as he recalls these memories.

(Captain) and the crew capture the marauding skyfarers and hand them over to the guards.
Lyria: Hey! What you were saying earlier, you know, about the boy you met on Golonzo...
Vyrn: Heh-heh! You were talking about Rackam, weren't you?
Noa: Yes. Just before I first met him, I was struggling with some serious self-doubt.
Noa: As a ship-building primal beast, I had made lots of ships and entrusted them to all kinds of people.
Noa: But the ships I made were being used in the War and other conflicts. They brought misery to so many people.
Noa: I was a ship-building primal beast who hated ship-building, and I was losing faith in my abilities and my very existence.
Lyria: How awful... But you're not responsible for what happened in the War.
Noa: Yet if it weren't for my ships, they would've had no way to reach the battlefield. The whole war could've been avoided.
Noa: The Grandcypher was one of those ships.
Noa: It was wrecked in the War, but I'd lost so much faith in my abilities that I couldn't even repair it to my satisfaction.
Noa: That was when I decided to join a crew. We were visiting Golonzo...
Noa: And I encountered Rackam. He was so tiny back when he was a child, but he still spoke like he had an old head on his shoulders.
Rackam: ...
Noa: Even though the Grandcypher was just a shipwreck back then, Rackam told me that it was still beautiful.
Noa: Hearing that made me so glad, from the bottom of my heart.
Noa: I decided that one day the Grandcypher would sail through the skies once more, this time to help people instead of hurt them.
Noa: And I once again believed that there was a way forward for me, so I resolved to go back to being me.
Noa: That's how I ended up here on Golonzo waiting for Rackam. I just knew that he'd become the pilot of the Grandcypher.
Vyrn: Of course! I can't blame you for waiting!
Lyria: Me neither! That resolution must have been really important to you, Noa.
Noa: I owe everything I am to Rackam. I would have simply faded away without him.
Noa: Rackam... For me, you are truly irreplaceable.
Rackam: Oh, for cryin' out loud. I don't think I can listen to much more of this.
Noa: Hee-hee...
Noa turns away slightly, but keeps his eyes on Rackam, and smiles cheerfully.
Of all the events in Noa's long life as a primal beast, he is profoundly thankful for his chance encounter with Rackam.
