Happy Birthday Cutscenes
# Link Text
1

You will encounter many hardships and blessings as you continue to chase your dreams.
When you can no longer move forward, try calling out my name.
I'll cast a spell to give you a little boost. Hee hee. How was that?
Happy birthday. I'll do my best to watch over your story, from here on out.

2

Happy birthday! How's this past year been for you? Hope you have lots of great memories to look back on.
You've got a few unpleasant memories too?
But if there was anything even the slightest bit pleasant, I'd suggest you focus on that.
Why, you ask? Because doing so will help you filter out the bad memories and keep the good ones forever.
When you look back on your youth and are able to think "man, I really lived such a wonderful life...," you'll be living the happy ending.
Maybe I'm thinking too far ahead, but I'd say it's definitely something to keep in the back of your head.

3

Happy birthday. Hehe, you've been looking really sharp lately, (Captain).
I like where things are headed! Remember: never let a busy schedule get in the way of your appearance!
What you feel on the inside and how you look on the outside might seem unrelated, but believe me—it all goes hand in hand. A change in your appearance affects your mood.
So don't just slap on any random clothing. Try out some new apparel, and you just might find a new you lying within.
Of course, there's nothing wrong with the confidence boost that well-worn clothing provides either.
What I'm saying is be conscious of the person you want to be and choose your clothing based on that. Your attire will, in a way, help you become that person.
If you're not sure what kind of person you'd like to be, just ask me! I'll open you up to new possibilities you've never even considered!
I usually don't tell people this, but a lazy outfit can actually be helpful sometimes. Never hurts to take a break when you need it!
But when that time comes, I want you to go full-bore just the same and rest like there's no tomorrow! That way, you wouldn't be cutting corners!

4

Happy birthday, (Captain)! It's here once again, and it's gonna be awesome!
When we first met I told you I was excited to join your crew so I could hear all sorts of fascinating stories.
But throughout the years all the stories I've seen that have involved you have been full of love.
That's why, no matter what happens, I want to stick by your side and see this tale through to the end.
Next year, the year after that—I'll be here as long as it takes.
And of course I'll give it my all to see that end become a happy one, so just ask for my advice anytime, 'kay?

5

From the time you left home, you've been on a journey to meet your dad at the ends of the skies.
That's a wonderful ending for a father and his child. But have you thought about what comes after?
Nope, you haven't, just as I suspected. Don't you think it's a waste if you don't though?
Haha. Here's the thing: you're not the type to say that's a wrap and call it quits. It's fine to think bigger.
Oh, sure, being a skyfarer until you're old and gray sounds like a blast, but give other occupations a chance.
Like, if you're thinking about getting into fashion design, I'll take you in as my intern, and you'll never want to quit!
Happy endings are subjective. The world before you is full of endless possibilities.
What will you write in the coming chapters of your life? Only you know the answer to that, but I hope you leave some parts for me to play!

Happy New Year Cutscenes

1

Happy New Year, Captain! The curtain rises on a brand new story!
Look at the people walking outside. They look like they're ready to start a new chapter in life too.
Me? I'm going to keep making more and more dresses, of course.
I don't want to get rusty, you know. Someday, I'm going to make the wedding dress that I've always been dreaming of.

2

Happy New Year, (Captain). Have you decided on a New Year's resolution yet?
Hm, me? Mine is to continue designing clothes that satisfy my customers.
And I don't just mean when they first pick up clothes either.
I want them to look back when the clothing's all worn out and think, "Oh, man, those were the days..."
The memories you create with each piece of clothing become a part of you.
There is no happier ending for clothing than when the customer looks back on precious memories and fondly remembers what they wore at the time.

3

My first dream of the year was a nostalgic one. It was a dream of a wedding ceremony I attended as a child.
I may have mentioned this before, but my mind was set on becoming a fashion designer when I first laid eyes on a beautiful, happily-wedded bride.
But why would I suddenly be seeing this in a dream now? I wonder if it's a sign... or perhaps a reflection of my heart.
Yes, it's probably a reminder for me to go back to the basics.
I guess you could also interpret it to mean not to dwell too much on the past as I move forward.
Hehe, in the end it's all a matter of perspective. Either way my motivation's way up after having that dream!
My resolution this year is to utilize my skills as a fashionista to carve out more happy endings in the world—even if it's just one more!
By the way, (Captain), what was your first dream of the year? Tell me all about it!

4

Happy New Year, (Captain). Have you already been to the shrine for the new year?
I was just about to go myself. Wanna come with?
Hehe. I'm glad I said something! Well, let's go!
Huh? What's this sketchbook I have?
It's the new year, so we might bump into people who've decided to put their best fashion foot forward as a resolution.
It's an inspirational time, and fashion is born from inspiration. You can check out all sorts of new clothes and styles.
This sketchbook is to capture any ideas that come bubbling up. Wouldn't wanna lose 'em, hm?
Hehe. Guess I'm eager to launch myself into design this year too!

5

Happy New Year! It's been a pleasure, (Captain), and I know there's more to come. It's still early, but have you figured out what you want to accomplish this year?
Me? Call me a broken record, but seeing that big smile on a customer's face when they put on my creation is ambitious enough for me.
A designer's job is a two-way street. Being satisfied with my work is only half the battle.
Sometimes a customer hates my piece, and I take that as an opportunity to learn.
It doesn't happen often, so I relish the chance to work with the customer to finish something we're both happy with.
You can't get that feeling by designing and making clothing in a vacuum.
Of course I enjoy making outfits for my own inner critic, but I just love interacting with people too much!
Ahaha, I want to design clothes I'd never wear! Yes, I'm self-indulgent.
So that's my aspiration. I can't wait to hear what a skyfarer zooming toward the ends of the skies has to say!

1

All the girls in the crew look like they're getting ready to run away. Even the smooth talkers are going to have trouble today.
Hm? You look like you want something.
Bwahaha! Don't worry! I have some chocolate just for you.
How do you expect me to resist? Those chocolates are all for you, so enjoy them!

2

Hm? You want me to shelter you? Heh, it can't be easy being everyone's favorite captain.
Haha, just kidding. Hey, no pouting! Unless you want me to poke you on the cheek!
Here's your chocolate. I made sure to pick them out from a specialty store, so make sure you savor every last bite.

3

Oh, you want chocolate? Here you go.
You can be a really curious one, (Captain). I wasn't expecting you to come to my room just for some sweets.
Since it's Valentine's Day, you'd probably be better off getting chocolates from the person you really have feelings for.
Oh, wait, don't tell me... You're not sure where you'd even start?
You should've just told me! I'm always glad to give you relationship advice! Anything for your happy ending!
Oh, you'd rather not? Sigh... You can be so bashful.
Okay, okay, fine... I'll stop prying. Promise.
But if you ever need someone to talk to, know that I'm here for you!
(Looks like the captain wants to keep it secret... Hm, I wonder who (Captain) might have a crush on...)

4

Here you go. It's a Valentine's Day present.
How's the season treating you? Found any lovely date prospects?
Hehe. Say that you did find someone, and you had your happy end together...
I guess you wouldn't need my chocolates anymore, would you?
Hey! What's that sad look for? It was just a joke! A joke!
Here! Have a chocolate! It'll make you feel better! Say aaah!
Is it good? I hope you feel better. Sorry for teasing you.
I know you'll visit me every year, so I prepare chocolate for you, you know?
If you told me that you couldn't receive them anymore, I would be the one hurting.
Make sure you come see me next year too, okay?

5

Snore... Mumble... Yawn... Dozed off on my desk...
(Captain)? Why are you—
Gasp! Oh, ooh! Valentine's Day! Wait, it's not over yet, is it?
Sorry, I know I asked you to come. I've been busy with orders lately...
But that's not an excuse I should be making. I did get you some chocolates, but it feels kind of lacking.
Hm... How else can I make it up to you? Say, are you hungry?
Great! Perfect timing! I bought some late night snacks, like this delicious-looking salami.
And I'll pour you a glass of this highly recommended sparkling water! Pairs great with salty foods.
There's only enough for two, so why don't you stay here and hang out with me?

Oh, you're giving me a White Day present?
Shouldn't you give this to someone who's more into this stuff?
Just kidding. Hehe, sorry, sorry. I was only trying to hide my embarrassment.
Thank you so much. I'm really happy that you thought of me.

2

Hey, aren't you supposed to be busy today, (Captain)? You sure it's okay for you to be coming to my room?
A White Day present for me? Teehee...
Oh, it's nothing. I just love how you pay attention to the details. It's obvious why everyone on the crew looks up to you.

3

Hm, a White Day present? Ah, how sweet of you as usual.
Wow, this is great! The little box is adorable too! I just love how thoughtful you are, (Captain).
Truth is I look forward to your goods every year. They're pretty much always guaranteed to keep me more than satisfied...
Psst, so were you able to pick out the best chocolates for your favorite person?
Oh, so you tried, but things didn't work out? Well, could be worse, right?
Wanna talk about it? No? You want to see how far you can go yourself? Hm, I like that attitude.
But I wouldn't worry too much about a single White Day! Happy endings await at every corner. You just have to be willing to go out and find them!

4

Oh my, is this for me? Thank you. These sweets look delicious. But why now?
Oh! It's White Day! Sorry, I completely forgot.
I had a lot of orders for White Day this year. I guess the actual day must have slipped my mind.
But you've been busy too, and you still remembered. Sorry about that.
I bet you really went all out to complete your regular duties and get me a present. How early did you go into town this morning?
A captain that's willing to buy presents for each of the crew... No wonder everyone loves you.
I love that about you too, of course!
Thank you for the heartfelt gift. I'll cherish it!

5

Happy White Day! Sorry you had to walk all the way over here to give me something. Thanks a bunch!
Sooo? Did you give a gift to your special someone? Just to friends, huh... How chivalrous.
Hm... I could help you if I knew who it was, but you don't seem to want to talk about it...
No, no, no! Look what you've done to me! I'm not gonna force you to tell, but now I'm dying of curiosity!
Gasp! Oooh, I know what's going on here. You don't want to say who's your favorite because she's looking right at you, am I right?
Just kidding! Ahaha! I'm sorry, I couldn't resist.
I didn't mean to tease, but for a minute I really did think you were confessing your feelings for me.
You chase your dreams with sincerity and without ridiculing anyone else's. That's what I like about you.

Trick or Treat Cutscenes

1

Trick or treat! Hee hee, it's fun seeing everyone's costumes, but it's even more fun if you wear one too!
I've been making costumes for you, Captain!
I got carried away and made so many of them!
Be sure to try them all on before the day is over!

2

Phew, I'm beat... Hm? You're not gonna go trick-or-treating, (Captain)?
Me? Nah, I'm good. My Halloween ended before it even started.
So many orders for my outfits came in; I had to really work at it. Some of the requests that came in really inspired me to come up with awesome designs though.
Hm? You'll give me a massage? Thank you, (Captain). Ungh...
I'll give you—ahhh—a really nice treat in return for this later...

3

Hrgh... Yawn... I'm all rested up.
I've finished up my work and got in a good nap! Which means it's time to go all out for Halloween!
Hm? What's with that look on your face, (Captain)?
Don't you know I'm always up for a good time? And Halloween's just bursting with fun stuff to do.
And unless I see with my own eyes how everyone prances about on this day, I won't have the ideas to make suitable themed outfits.
Hehe, for starters...
Why don't you try saying trick or treat to me, (Captain)?
I've got candy up the wazoo, and I'm ready for any trick coming my way today! Happy Halloween!

4

Hmm, wonder if the couples costume wave has hit our part of the skies yet.
Huh? What kind of costumes are those? You know, like a witch and a cat, or a vampire and a bat. Anything that works in a pair.
I sometimes see siblings dress up in matching costumes.
But it seems like regular friends and couples are wearing them more and more.
If things continue as they are, then next year we'll have a mega fad on our hands!
I have to start designing right now. Hey, (Captain), when I'm finished, would you and Lyria try on a look for me?
I'll have to think about the person wearing them, but a design for a Human shouldn't be a big deal!
Besides, I've always wanted to dress Lyria up in cute outfits.
Doesn't that sound fun, (Captain)? Just think of the accessorizing we could do with her!
Don't forget this is a couples costume though!
That's the part Lyria's going to be excited about!
Hehe! I just can't wait!
I'll need to get input from both of you on the design, so after the Halloween festivities have died down, come visit my room!

5

(Captain)... They're finished... I made couples costumes... for you and Lyria!
Ngh... Don't worry about me... I think I made about... sixty-four variants for Lyria or so...
I wanted you two to have the best Halloween... Her costumes match with your class outfits.
Hehehe... I was so focused on Lyria... that I didn't make anything for you, (Captain)... Sorry.
Yawn... I'm good. I'm still awake... So could I at least see how it looks when you two are together?
(Captain) gently sits Korwa down in a chair and runs to fetch Lyria. They quickly change into matching class outfits.
Haha... Funny how a small wardrobe update... can make a big difference. Lyria looks like (Captain)'s apprentice...
Aah, I love it! Now go have a fun Halloween... I've got a fashion show to host...

Happy Holidays Cutscenes

1

Happy holidays, Captain! Are we going to have a party?
If we are, you need put on something nice to fit the occasion! That means something besides your everyday duds!
It's not just how you look on the outside. What you wear defines who you are. It can even change your personality.
Come on, if you're going to have fun tonight, then you need to get changed. I'll pick the outfit, okay?

2

Happy holidays, (Captain)!
So... what can you tell me about your outfit?
Bah! How many times do I have to tell you you're supposed to dress for the occasion?
Can't let our hard work go to waste now!
You'll want to really get out there and strut your stuff!
Okay, stand in front of the mirror! I'll pick a nice one out for you! Consider it a holiday gift from me!
Ooh, there's not much time until the party! I can't wait to get you all suited up!

3

Aah. (Captain), isn't that outfit something I picked out for you a while back?
You like it that much, huh? Puts a smile on my lips. Yeah, you're all ready to rock out at tonight's party!
But no.
Why, you ask? This holiday dinner is not a repeat of last year's. Think of them as one-shot events.
That goes for anything in life. It's your loss if you don't approach everything with a fresh mind-set and a fresh outfit!
Got it? Good. Now follow me to my room.
Even if it's the same outfit, you can coordinate the parts differently to achieve a different feel. This is as good a chance as any to show you.
Also you might as well use this chance to look in the mirror and take note of just how attractive you are.

4

Heeey, what's up, (Captain)?
You want me to help you with your banquet outfit?
...!
(Captain)! Do you understand! What a great honor! It would be! Absolutely! Oh, this is the best present ever!
Of course I'll help you! But I can't decide everything on my own.
Tell me if you've got a favorite color or fabric, or a favorite accessory. We'll base your outfit off of those!
You've gotta wear what you wanna wear, after all! Fashion is an expression of the self.
Once we've decided on the basics, I'll handle the rest.
Now, stand in front of the mirror. Stand up straight and look forward. Imagine yourself looking your best.
Do you see it? The new you is already brighter than any starlit tree!

5

Hey there, Captain. You've been staring at that snood for a while now. You're in luck, because I'm gonna buy it for you!
Haha, think of it as a holiday gift. Hm? You don't want it because it looks scratchy and too grown-up?
Good! That's why I have to get it for you now. You don't give up on a piece just because it doesn't start off perfect.
You complement its flaws in some way, like with cosmetics or accessories. You can even change your body itself by losing weight or bulking up.
Sure it requires a bit of effort on your part, but you'll end up feeling better about yourself.
When you look good, you feel good. And above all, that feeling of success is what'll stick with you the most.
Winning the little battles does wonders for your confidence. You'll be thanking your experiences when the time comes to take center stage.
Ahaha, what doesn't kill you will make you look more stylish. So get out there and be the best you can be!

The Unexpected Wedding

Korwa and the crew visit her design studio while on a delivery request. There, the daughter of her friend shows up unannounced and asks Korwa to make a wedding dress. The young girl explains that her mother opposes spending money on a belated ceremony that the father wants, and that showing her mother a dress might convince her. Korwa suggests learning the mother's true feelings first.

Girl: Please, Korwa!
Girl: I want you to make me a wedding dress!
Korwa: Wha...
Korwa: What'd you say!
Startled by the sudden request, Korwa's shocked voice echoes out from her workroom in the tailor shop.
The situation began when (Captain) accepted a delivery job from Siero.
Vyrn: Huh? I think I've heard of the island these goods are goin' to.
Lyria: Ah! Look, Vyrn, that's the island with the tailor shop Korwa works at!
Korwa: Wow, what are the chances!
No version of Korwa in crew

Korwa is a popular dress designer. She's always looking for inspiration for new designs...
So she rents out a room aboard the Grandcypher to work on ideas as she travels the skies with the crew.
Korwa: Y'know, I haven't been back to my studio at the shop in a long time.
Korwa: (Captain), think I could come on that assignment with you?
Korwa: After so long, I wanna clean it up and patch a few open ends.
Vyrn: Sure! That's no prob at all, right (Captain)?
The captain agrees and welcomes Korwa along for the ride.
Korwa: Thanks, Captain! You're a lifesaver!
Korwa: Oh hey, I bet I can guess what you're delivering. Is there any cloth or thread? Maybe some gemstones even?
Vyrn: Whoa, you're pretty sharp! There's a bunch of kinds of cloth in the cargo.
Korwa: Ah, I knew it! That island has whole streets full of tailors.
Korwa: Needles, cloth, thread... There's so many tool and supply stores, the competition is fierce.
Lyria: That's right, isn't it! Heehee, I'm excited just to see them all!
Korwa: If you find any fabric you like, bring it over to the shop, and I'll make some clothes for you.
Korwa: A whole outfit might be a tad much, but you can't go wrong with hair ornaments or cloth accessories.
Lyria: Wow, I really can't wait now! Once the job's finished, let's do some shopping together, (Captain)!
Shopping plans decided, the captain sets course to deliver the cargo.
The job goes without a hitch, so (Captain) and company head toward the tailor shop where Korwa works.
Lyria: Oooh! There's a store that only sells ribbon! And this shop sells buttons and nothing but!
Vyrn: Plus there's not just one or two specialty stores—the whole street's lined with 'em.
Vyrn: You weren't kiddin' when you said the competition's fierce. I totally get why they need to bring cloth in from other islands!
Korwa: Hehe, awesome, right? You can kill a whole day just browsing.
Lyria: You really could. I bet hours and hours wouldn't be enough to see it all.
  1. Shall we head to Korwa's workshop first?

Choose: Shall we head to Korwa's workshop first?
Lyria: Good idea! We still need to tidy up her studio.
Korwa: Oh, I can handle that alone. You guys should look around. Go, have fun!
Though appreciative of her kind offer, (Captain) insists the window-shopping will be much more fun with everyone together.
Korwa: Aw, thanks. Then let's clean up super quick and hit the shopping scene!
Korwa: Hm, I guess it's been longer than I thought. Look at all this dust...
Lyria: I'll open the window, Korwa!
Korwa: Oh, thanks!
The crew divides up cleaning duties and swiftly makes the work area spotless, just in time for lunch.
Vyrn: There! That about does it!
Korwa: Thanks so much for the help, guys!
Korwa: As thanks, how about I take you to my fav cafe near here? My treat.
Lyria: Yaaay! Thank you, Korwa!
Everyone gathers their things, and as they're about to leave the shop...
Lyria: Oh, a customer—
Girl: I'm so glad you're here!
Korwa: Hm? Is that...
Girl: Please, Korwa!
Girl: I want you to make me a wedding dress!
Korwa: Wha...
Korwa: What'd you say!
Vyrn: A wedding dress... Like, for you to wear?
Girl: No! Not for me. I need it for my mama...
Girl: Oh! I'm sorry, it's rude not to say hi. Um, hello...
Lyria: Nice to meet you! I'm Lyria, and this is Vyrn and (Captain)!
Korwa: I've been friends with this girl's mom since I first came to the island. Right?
Girl: Yep! You have to come play at our house again.
Girl: But first, the wedding dress!
Korwa: ...
Girl: Korwa?
Korwa: It's just, I've been asked to a few times, but I've never made a wedding dress before...
Girl: What! But why?
Korwa: Wedding dresses are kinda... personal for me. But anyway...
Korwa: You said it's for your mom. You gotta tell me what's going on. Did something happen?
Korwa: W-wait, don't say it... Did things not end well with her husband? But they were such a cute couple!
Girl: Huh? No! They still love each other a lot!
Korwa: Ah, good... That's a load off my mind.
Girl: But Papa was talking, and he's really sad they didn't get to have a ceremony when they got married.
Girl: So he's been saving money little by little, all 'cause he's always wanted to give her a proper wedding.
Girl: And now he's finally saved up enough. That's when he told me everything!
Vyrn: Aw, what a touching story!
Korwa: I get it... After hearing that, I'd really love to accept your order, but...
Girl: But?
Korwa: But, like, why didn't your dad just come ask me himself? Is there something else you're not telling me?
Girl: Oops...
Girl: There's no outsmarting you, Korwa.
Korwa: Heh heh! I am pretty clever!
Korwa: So lay it on me!
Girl: Well... You see...
Girl: Mama made a real big fuss about it to Papa... She said, "don't you dare waste all that hard-earned money!"
Korwa: Mhm, mhm...
Girl: Papa got real sad after that... But I wanna see Mama look pretty in a nice dress too.
Girl: That's why I thought if you made the best dress ever, then Mama would have to agree...
Korwa: Ummm...
Korwa: Weddings are a really special thing, where two people promise in front of everyone to share their lives together...
Korwa: They get married and have a ceremony 'cause they share the same feelings. You see?
Girl: I guess...
Korwa: So if your mom is against it, having a dress made behind her back isn't going to make her feel too happy.
Girl: Aww...
Girl: I know, you're right, Korwa...
Girl: B-but I just can't stand when my papa looks sad. I feel so bad for him!
Korwa: Yeah, that makes me feel pretty bad too. So I propose...
Korwa: First we find out how your mom really feels. Sound good?
Girl: ...!
Vyrn: Good point! Your mom might be worried about somethin' besides money.
Korwa: I know, right? And if we solve that problem, dad, mom, and daughter might all get to share in a wonderful day together.
Girl: But my mama... You think she'll tell us the truth?
Korwa: You just leave that to me! I think I've got an idea.
Korwa: I'm gonna give this family of yours the perfect happily ever after!
As she says this, Korwa looks at the rest of the crew and winks.
Willing to do anything for the happiness of others, she knows just what to use in this situation.

Personal Best

Using her magic-imbued thread, Korwa draws out the truth—that the girl's mother doesn't want a ceremony due to her social anxiety. The girl's father then arrives and pleads that he wants to give his wife the chance to wear a wedding dress. The mother concedes to wearing one, but only if Korwa makes it. Though intimidated by the thought of designing her first ever wedding gown, Korwa finally decides to confront the challenge.

Korwa learns of a father and daughter's wish to let a mother wear a wonderful wedding dress.
To learn the truth about why the mother is refusing to let them buy her a dress though, Korwa prepares something special.
Korwa: Here we are... Put this there, and... done!
Lyria: Oh, what a beautiful ribbon!
Girl: Wow, Korwa! You embroidered that ribbon in a flash!
Vyrn: But hey, what's the ribbon for anyhows?
Korwa: You'll see... I bet this'll get mommy in a more open frame of mind.
Korwa: (This cloth has my magical thread woven in, so I can ever so slightly manipulate the mood of the person wearing it.)
Korwa: (Once my ribbon's on her, this girl's mama won't think it's so bad telling us her feelings.)
Korwa: (It should work—so long as it's not some deep, dark secret she can't tell a single soul or something.)
Girl's Mother: Hey there, Korwa! My kid didn't come here, did she?
Girl: Ah! Mama!
Girl's Mother: There you are! Bothering Korwa here while she's hard at work!
Girl's Mother: I don't care how good of a friend she is, when someone's working, you don't interrupt them. Are we clear?
Girl: Eep... Sorry, Mama...
Girl's Mother: Don't apologize to me. Tell her!
Girl: I'm sorry, Korwa...
Korwa: Aren't you a good girl for apologizing nicely! Next time we meet, let's make plans first, 'kay? That'll be fine, right?
Girl's Mother: Sigh... You spoil her, you know that? I am sorry though for the interruption.
Korwa: Not at all! No biggie!
Korwa: But forget that—did you run here? Your hair's a mess.
Girl's Mother: What! Oh, drat!
Korwa: Hahaha, have a seat! I'll fix it up in two secs.
The girl's mother is reluctant to impose, but finally gives in and has a seat.
Korwa: I'll braid it up a little. Like this... and a little ribbon here...
Korwa: By the by, you wouldn't happen to know why she came here, would ya?
Girl's Mother: Ah... I know, it was about the wedding dress, right?
Vyrn: Uh-oh, so you already know what's up?
Girl's Mother: My husband's been bugging me about giving me a wedding ceremony. Or at least a dress to wear finally...
Lyria: Yeah, we heard you didn't like the idea. Would you tell us why?
Girl's Mother: Well, I suppose...
Girl's Mother: I mean, having a wedding now? What would the guests think? And all the money it'd cost to have a ceremony.
Vyrn: Yeah, but your husband's been saving, so you have some money, right?
Korwa: Is there anything else? Some reason why you just don't wanna do it?
Girl's Mother: About that... It's, um...
Girl: Tell us, Mama! If I can understand why, then I'll tell Papa to forget the idea too!
Girl's Mother: Uh... You know... It's...
Girl: Uh-huh!
Girl's Mother: It's embarrassing!
Girl: Hm?
Girl's Mother: Getting all dressed up in fancy clothes. It doesn't suit me! Being around people makes me nervous too!
Korwa: Ah hah... Come to think of it, you've got some serious social anxiety, right?
Girl's Mother: I do. It got a little better working at a clothing store when I was young... But I'm still terrified to be in front of people!
Vyrn: So that's why, huh? Gettin' stared at by lotsa guests would be pretty intimidating...
Girl: Oh...
Korwa: I always say good fashion goes with any age, gender, or season! I believe that more than anything...
Korwa: But that's not gonna change being scared of big social gatherings, huh?
Girl's Mother: That's right... So we should just drop all this wedding talk—
Girl's Father: I heard everything!
Girl: Papa!
Girl's Mother: What... What are you doing here!
Girl's Father: Oh, Korwa. Here's your delivery of thread. Would you sign here?
Korwa: Ah, right. Thanks... Wait, so you heard all that?
Girl's Father: Well, just a little... Sorry, I didn't mean to eavesdrop.
Girl's Mother: Sigh... At least that makes things easier.
Girl's Mother: Now you know why I want you to stop this. Having a wedding now is simply more attention than I can handle.
Girl's Father: I get it. I'll drop the whole ceremony idea. It's no good forcing you. But...
Girl: But?
Girl's Father: You have to wear a wedding dress!
Girl's Mother: What!
Girl's Father: I want to see the most beautiful woman in the skies wearing one! I have to see it!
Vyrn: Whoa... That's one passionate plea!
Girl: No, not just see it. We have to at least make a painting to remember, Papa.
Girl's Father: Of course! If it's okay with your mother, I want to document it as much as possible. Only if she wants though.
Girl's Father: Please, I've been scraping extra money together for so long hoping to see you in a wonderful dress! It'd just be this one time!
Girl's Mother: O-oh... But still...
The girl's mother looks around the room for support, and her gaze stops on her old friend.
Girl's Mother: Korwa... If you make the dress, then I'll wear it!
Korwa: Huh? Why me?
Girl's Mother: You told me once that you know all about wedding dresses, right?
Girl's Mother: But you said you're still not sure how to make the greatest one possible.
Korwa: Yeah... You nailed it. But if I did this, it'd be my very first wedding dress, y'know?
Korwa: (Could I do it? I don't even have any design ideas floating around.)
Girl's Father: Korwa, please...
Korwa: (But... Yeah, if I'm always scared to take a chance, I'll never be able to create a design.)
Korwa: (Not to mention...)
Korwa: If making a wedding dress will give you two the fairy-tale moment you deserve, then there's only one thing to say!
Girl: Yay!
Korwa: I'll do it! I'll make you the most stunning wedding dress to ever grace the skies!
Girl's Father: Yeeeah! Thank you so much!
Girl's Father: Oh right, here's what I have for the budget.
Korwa: You saved this much? Way to go, man!
Girl's Father: Since we're not putting on a ceremony, everything can go toward the dress! Here it is!
Korwa: Alrighty! Just sit back and relax 'cause I've got this covered!
Lyria: You're finally going to design a wedding dress!
Lyria: Let us know what we can do to help! Right, (Captain)?
Korwa: Thanks, guys! Let's get some quick window-shopping in to scout out the market!
Spirits high, everyone heads into town discussing all things wedding dress related.
And in an unexpected turn of events, Korwa sets out on designing the wedding dress of her friend's dreams.

Personal Best: Scene 2

Korwa hurries into designing a wedding dress, but none of her ideas satisfy the high expectations she has for the thing that inspired her to become a designer. Her stress mounts until (Captain) helps her understand that what's most important is a design that's best for the person wearing it, thus illuminating what she must do.

Korwa: Now to add a peplum... No, scratch that. The waistline would be better slim!
Korwa: It should be a robe decollete. Wait, I lied. A robe montante gives a better vibe... I think...
Korwa: Ah! Totally forgot. That one designer's new spring lineup could give me the right idea maybe...
The daring designer, having taken on her first wedding dress commission, continues working on ideas in her room within the Grandcypher.
Lyria: Korwa's been holed up in there since we got back. It's been over a day—do you think she's all right?
Vyrn: I know she's gotta concentrate on her work, but I don't think she's been eating or drinking anything. I'm kinda worried.
  1. Let's go check up on her.

Choose: Let's go check up on her.
Lyria: Good idea! And we can bring her a snack and something to drink!
The gang goes to Korwa's room and tries knocking on the door, but there's no answer.
Vyrn: Hey... You don't think she worked so hard she passed out or somethin'?
Lyria: M-maybe we could take a peek inside!
Lyria: Hey, Korwa! We're coming in!
Korwa: This is wrong... And that should be like this... It needs a more prominent silhouette...
Korwa is hunched over her desk, completely engrossed in sketching out dress designs.
Korwa: No, no, these lines are too sharp... The bride's happiness needs to be expressed more softly... more lightly...
Vyrn: Heeey! Care to take a breath now and then?
Korwa: Wah!
Korwa: Oh, geez, you scared me... When did you guys come in here?
Lyria: You were concentrating so hard you didn't hear us knock, Korwa. Here, have a drink!
Korwa: Oh, thanks! I think I forgot about food and drink this whole time.
Vyrn: You're super cool for tryin' hard and all, but it's no use if you keel over before the dress is done.
Korwa: Ugh... I know, you're right, Vyrn. My bad.
Crestfallen, Korwa cheerlessly accepts the plate of food from (Captain) and Lyria and eats over her desk.
Lyria: Wow! You made tons of designs already!
Korwa: Huh? Oh, yeah. But look at them. Not one is good enough, right?
Lyria: Oh, you think so?
Korwa: Yeah, I've got nothing... I promised to make the greatest dress in the skies. But it's like my ship lost altitude fast and now I'm grounded.
Pondering over the dilemma, the crew asks to see the designs so far.
Lyria: Well, each one looks like a really great dress to me.
Vyrn: For real.
Lyria: Like here, this puffy skirt is so cute!
Korwa: Good eye. This one'll flow really beautifully as the bride walks.
Korwa: It puts the focus on that sacred moment when the bride walks down the aisle!
Lyria: Ahh, how impactful!
Korwa: And lookie here. This knee-length dress might be good for you, Lyria.
Korwa: Shorter hemlines are kinda trendy recently. They're also easier to move around in.
Lyria: Oh, they're all so pretty—I can't stop looking at them!
Korwa: Thanks! That's nice to hear. But, like... They're all missing something. None of these are the best ever.
Korwa: I've got this image in my head, y'know? Of a happy bride's ideal dress. These don't match up at all though.
Vyrn: Your ideal dress, huh... It's hard to get as good as our imaginations.
Lyria: You became a fashion designer because you love wedding dresses, right?
Korwa: Absolutely. A bride wearing a dress good enough for her happiest moment—that's the symbol of happily ever after to me.
Korwa: When I saw wedding gowns as a kid, I knew I wanted to make them. So I became a designer.
Korwa: I guess... that's why I'm so meticulous about 'em. A wedding dress has to be flawless.
Korwa: If even the smallest detail isn't right, there's no way I can send off the bride in a dress I made.
Korwa: I have to do this...
Lyria: All that devotion must make you pay extra careful attention.
Korwa: Yeah... I can't help it.
Korwa: But, like, I really wanna make this one seriously perfect!
Korwa: For her and her family, and to break out of my own shell. I really need to do this!
Korwa: So I have to make the best dress in the skies... Right?
Korwa: Hey, (Captain), what do you think? Notice anything funky in my designs?
Seeing Korwa at her wits end, (Captain) thinks over the sketches on the desk.
  1. What's the "best dress in the skies" exactly?

Choose: What's the "best dress in the skies" exactly?
Korwa: Huh?
Korwa: You know... It's a dress that makes the bride happy... And, like, it's the one that suits her the most...
Korwa: Suits her?
Korwa: Oh... Oooh!
Lyria: Korwa?
Korwa: Riiight, that's it! (Captain), you're a genius! What's the matter with me!
Korwa: All this time, I was wrapped up in this best in the skies stuff when I shoulda been thinking about the person who's gonna wear the dress.
Vyrn: So that's it! Of course, (Captain)'s perfect dress would be pretty different than Lyria's.
Korwa: Right, right, right! Exactly! What I need to make isn't the best dress in the skies...
Korwa: It's the dress that's the most perfect in all the skies for my friend!
Korwa: It just needs that one, special something... The most important piece is missing.
Korwa: Ug... Wedding gowns are so important to me that I went all outta whack.
Lyria: The clothes you make for us are always the best ones we could hope for.
Lyria: So the dress you make for the bride will be the best she could wish for too, Korwa!
Korwa: Thanks, Lyria... Time to put my quill to the paper and make that happen!
Korwa: First I'm gonna take these designs and see what the fam has to say!
Lyria: Great!
Lyria: But before you go, would you please rest and have something to eat?
Vyrn: You can't work if you get sick!
Korwa: Ahaha... Yeah, sorry 'bout that. I won't overdo it this time, promise.
Korwa pinky swears with (Captain) and prepares to head out. But not until after some much-needed food and rest.

Personal Best: Scene 3

Korwa completes her design and, after some frantic labor, successfully makes the dress. It looks wonderful on the mother, pleasing her whole family. With this personally meaningful accomplishment done, Korwa promises to design something special for the girl and Lyria as well one day and hopes to continue making clothes that bring happiness to others.

Vyrn: Hey, Fashion Wiz! That lace you special ordered came in!
Lyria: And so did the fabric we requested from Siero! I'll go pick it up.
Korwa: Much gratitude, Vyrn and Lyria! That's a huge help!
With the final design ready, Korwa gets to work making the real deal, turning her room into a battlefield in the process.
The days go quickly though, and it's already the eve of the wedding gown's unveiling.
Korwa: The angle of the corsage is off... A little... this way...
Girl's Mother: I'm sorry you have to work so late making my dress.
Korwa: Nah, forget it—I'm just super picky. I won't be satisfied till I get this right.
Korwa: The artist's coming at noon tomorrow, right?
Girl's Mother: Yeah. My hubby's so excited to have this portrait made.
Korwa: Hehe, what a great husband though. Wanting to always remember how stunning you'll look.
Korwa: I gotta make sure I don't disappoint that kind heart of his...
Korwa: I put everything I have into this, but it's the first time I've felt so fidgety.
Girl's Mother: You always used to talk about how special wedding dresses are.
Korwa: Yep... I really want the bride to have the happiest moment of her life. Like she's in a fairy tale.
Korwa: It's great to have the opportunity to give that to someone. I'm still not convinced I can do it though...
Korwa: Yikes, I shouldn't be saying anything to make you anxious—you're gonna be wearing this dress tomorrow. Sorry.
Girl's Mother: Oh, no need to apologize. Anyone would be nervous doing something for the first time like you are, right?
Girl's Mother: But I already knew it when we did the fitting. This gown is perfect for me!
Girl's Mother: The whole family was surprised by it. There's no doubt this is the dress for me.
Korwa: Teehee... I couldn't ask for a better reaction. This wedding dress is all about you.
Korwa: When I made it, I knew it had to be the best dress for you in all the skies!
Girl's Mother: And you put the work in and really did it... You're amazing, Korwa.
Girl's Mother: I just know you're going to make the best wedding dress in the skies for another lucky lady out there next.
Korwa: I really hope I can. No, I'm gonna make sure I can, definitely.
Girl's Mother: I know you can. And... if my little girl ever needs to wear one someday...
Girl's Mother: You'll make the best one for her, won't you?
Korwa: You got it! The greatest in the skies, and nothing less.
Korwa: Wow, I'm excited thinking about what kind of dress I'll be making for her!
Korwa finishes adjusting the corsage and nods with a feeling of fulfillment.
Korwa: There we go.
Korwa: I can't wait for you to wear this tomorrow so I can see you in it!
Under a clear blue sky, the beautiful bride stands in her wedding dress beside the handsome groom in his tuxedo.
The portrait artist works intently on capturing the lovely couple while Korwa and the others watch from nearby.
Girl: Miss Painter said I can be together with them in the next one!
Korwa: Oh, good for you! The whole fam together will make a great memory to have.
Lyria: You know... Sniff... The bride really does look stunning!
Girl: Yeah! The dress is so pretty on her, she looks like a princess!
Lyria: I hope I get to wear a wedding dress like that one day...
(Captain) agrees with Lyria and sighs in admiration of how gorgeous the bride is.
Girl: Me too... Oh, but I guess I need to find a really kind person like Papa first, huh.
Korwa: Heehee, when the time comes, mind if I make dresses for you both?
Korwa: I promise to make the best dress in the skies for each of you! Pretty please?
Girl: Ahaha, shouldn't we be asking you, Korwa?
Korwa: Even if it's not wedding dresses you want, all I need to be happy is to make clothes that make you two happy.
Korwa: Got it? You have to let me, 'kay? I want you both to have that special moment too one day.
Smiling radiantly, Korwa watches in awe at the bride wearing the very wedding gown she created.
Her dress is the purest reflection of her wish for everyone to live happily ever after.
