Happy Birthday Cutscenes
# Link Text
1

Hello, (Captain).
I hear it is your birthday today.
I have orders from our king to ensure you have a wonderful time on your very special day.
Oh, there is no need for worry. I have instructed one of my subordinates to oversee the city's reconstruction for today.
You are our country's hero as well as my savior, (Captain).
I will utilize all of the knowledge I possess to arrange a celebration worthy of you.
With the crew's assistance, I have prepared a detailed schedule for your birthday plans.
Happy birthday, (Captain). I pray that this year will be an enriching and glorious one for you.
Well then, please enjoy your day to your heart's content.

2

Happy birthday, (Captain).
I would have liked to hold a large celebration for you on your special day in the same fashion as the previous year...
But I'm afraid I have some work waiting that I must attend to—I'm sorry I cannot stay for very long.
Instead, I've brought a gift and a letter of correspondence from the king himself.
And this is a present from me—a light blanket weaved out of silk.
I chose to give you this thinking it may be useful when you visit places with cooler weather.
Oh, yes... As embarrassing as it is to admit, I weaved it myself.
In particular, the gold thread woven into the design is to wish you good luck and safety in your journey.
Traveling through the skies is not an easy endeavor. I pray that you and everyone in the crew will have safe passage.
May you have another wonderful year full of happiness and prosperity, (Captain).

3

Hello, (Captain). How have you been faring as of late?
Today is your birthday—a very special day. I have come to bring you something yet again from His Majesty.
Here is a letter along with a gift from the king—I believe it is a jade paper cutter this year.
And these are peaches grown by Zawra himself. I hear that it is a spectacular harvest this year.
This here is the plum juice that General Polaris favored. As she often gave me this juice in the summer, it is something of great sentimental value to me.
This wooden box is from the soldiers with whom you fought in the previous battle. And next to it are various gifts from the citizens of Zaha.
We will never forget what you have done for us. All of these gifts are proof of that.
If ever you find yourself in trouble or in the face of a terrible enemy while on your journey...
We, the people of Erdeni, will not hesitate to come to your aid when the time comes.
No matter how far you are or how much time has passed, we wish to always be there to support you.
Please allow me to wish you a very happy birthday, (Captain).
I pray that your journey from here on will continue to be a fruitful one.

4

Happy birthday, (Captain).
I'm glad that I could offer a present and congratulate you in person before your next departure.
We've recently commenced trade with our surrounding countries, so there's been an influx of visitors as of late.
With so many merchants traveling into and out of our borders, I also hear stories of you and your crew's many feats.
You all have been to so many new places since helping us—and everywhere you go, you extend your hand to those in need of assistance.
While hearing the tales of your adventures fills my heart with a certain joy, I sometimes can't help but worry.
I know in my mind that you are a strong, capable individual.
But the more you accomplish, the greater you become, and the greater you become, the more enemies you make.
I understand that risk is inherent to adventuring—especially when your journeys take you to the far corners of these skies.
I acknowledge that danger is part of the occupation, but it still worries me.
So please, (Captain). Exercise the utmost caution when you travel. That is all I ask.
I want nothing more than to see you grow in the years to come and celebrate your successes together with you.
Ah, I'm sorry for holding you up. It's almost time for you to leave.
Take care, (Captain). I wish you safe travels.
Please watch your health, and may your journey be full of good fortune. I look forward to the day we meet again.

Happy New Year Cutscenes

1

Oh, (Captain). Was there something urgent you needed me for?
Refreshments for the citizens of Zaha, you say?
How very kind of you.
A new year has come. The situation has calmed down a little, although there's still much for us to do.
But how did you manage to get such a large amount of refreshments?
Oh, you made them with everyone in the crew? How lovely!
I'm certain the people and the soldiers will be delighted to receive something handmade by such a renowned skyfaring crew.
I appreciate the sentiment, (Captain). Thank you.

2

Happy New Year, (Captain).
Yes, it came to my attention that a New Year's party was taking place today, so I borrowed the galley to prepare a dish myself.
This is called Buuz, and consists of small amounts of minced mutton that are wrapped in dough and steamed. It's a classic dish for celebrations in my country.
Please, feel free to have a taste before it gets cold.
Oh, but if you bite into it that fast—
The warning comes too late. (Captain) bites into a dumpling, causing the juices inside to spurt out. The captain jumps in surprise.
Are you all right? Did you burn yourself?
No? That's good...
I'm sorry, I should have specified that the inside of the dumplings are quite hot. The best way to eat them is to use your chopsticks to make an opening in the skin, then...
Fooo, fooo...
That should do it. Now open your mouth—yes, very good.
How do you like it?
Hehe. I'm glad it's to your liking.
This is rather nostalgic... I used to feed my sister like this when we were little too.
Would you like to have some more? Let me get you another.
Fooo, fooo... All right, open wide.

3

Very well then, (Captain). Let us begin the New Year's rite.
Rest assured—the idea of a rite may sound intimidating, but it simply involves flying a kite.
Are you ready? In three, two, one... Begin!
At Shura's signal, the kites soar high into the sky, drifting slowly with the gentle breeze.
Oh my! Your kite is already so high, (Captain)! Impressive indeed!
In my country, the child who flies their kite the highest and for the longest on New Year's is believed to achieve great success in the future.
The representation of a strength that bends not even to the headwind, taking a magnificent form in the sky... Just like how you are flying your kite now.
You would match even the highest results recorded in the history of my country.
Well then. Please take this, (Captain).
It is our custom to present the children who take part in the New Year's rite with a gift.
Happy New Year, (Captain).
From the bottom of my heart, I wish all of you happiness and good health in the upcoming year.

4

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, (Captain).
My nation's revitalization efforts have been going smoothly. We were even able to set up this makeshift shrine for people to visit.
I don't even remember how long it's been since we've had such a sorrow-free New Year's Day...
It's my understanding that we go to the shrine in order to wish for a happy and healthy year, correct?
My people, however, were under an ever-looming threat from the Empire. We knew not the meaning of peace or health.
There are still obstacles we must overcome, but that we're able to spend such a tranquil New Year's Day at all is thanks to you.
If I had but one wish, it would be that these times of peace endure for all eternity.
Ah, my apologies. I didn't mean to bring down the mood on such a nice day.
Now then, it's almost our turn.
What will you be wishing for, (Captain)?
Safe travels and the well-being of your crewmates? Well, I can't say I'm surprised.
In that case, I'll wish for you to have yet another year of good fortune and health.
I'll also wish for my country's continued prosperity—that we can build a nation worthy for you to visit.
May there be peace among my nation and its people.

Valentine's Day Cutscenes

1

Good afternoon, (Captain).
Please try this. It's hot chocolate with a small amount of spice mixed in.
Thanks to your assistance in transporting materials so quickly, things are looking much better these days.
The restoration of the city is going well... Soon, the people will finally be able to return to their normal lives.
(Captain), you are truly our hero. I cannot tell you enough how grateful I am...
I hope this cup of hot chocolate can serve as a small expression of how much I appreciate you.
I'm afraid this is all I can give under the current circumstances, but I will do my best to give you something even better next year.

2

Hello, (Captain). I'm sorry to have kept you waiting.
Since today is Valentine's Day, I've brought you some chocolates as a token of my appreciation.
These chocolates are made with a variety of nuts and dried fruit.
General Polaris taught me how to make these before.
According to Polaris, it's a versatile snack that goes well with a drink too.
By mixing six different kinds of nuts and fruit into the chocolate, it also serves as a good luck charm to promote health and safety.
Polaris used to make His Majesty, Commander Zawra, and myself these every year.
I'm certain that Polaris would have wanted to make these chocolates for you too.
This may be presumptuous of me, but...
I wanted to convey our gratitude toward you with these chocolates, in Polaris's stead as well.
I apologize for the less-than-perfect shape of the chocolates, as I hadn't made them in quite a while. Please feel free to have as many as you like.

3

Greetings, (Captain). The atmosphere appears quite lively today.
Perhaps everyone is excited for Valentine's Day. If I remember correctly, there's something about being fair in both love and war, isn't there?
Ah yes. I, too, have brought a Valentine's gift as a token of my appreciation.
It is a special kind of chocolate fondant. Please have some if you would like.
Hehe... I'm relieved to see that it suits your tastes. I must say, it was quite difficult to make it so the center is soft even when served chilled.
Oh! Hehe. (Captain), you have chocolate around your mouth.
Ah, not there, but on... excuse me. Please stay still for a moment.
There we go. All clean now.
You remind me very much of my sister when she was little...
I'm sorry. It would be inappropriate to become too sentimental on a special occasion like Valentine's.
Why don't I prepare some tea to go with the chocolate? I've brought some scrumptious tea leaves with me.
If you are inclined to share, I would love to hear stories of your travels over the tea and sweets.

4

(Captain)? What are you doing up at this hour?
Haha, I see... Too hungry to fall asleep, huh?
That just means you're still growing—nothing to be ashamed of.
Ah, actually... If it's a midnight snack you want, I have just the thing.
Here's some dried fruit and chocolate nuts. I always make sure to carry these with me.
Hehe, I'm glad it's to your liking.
Back when I was first taken in to custody, this chocolate was the first thing Polaris gave me.
At the time, I was fearful of nearly everything. So wary was I of the food I had been given that I refused to even touch it.
And yet, Polaris still tried to get along with me. I remember her telling me that chocolate she had given me was handmade.
I could never bring myself to share something so important with others...
But I'll make an exception for you, (Captain). You're special—irreplaceable to me. Forever will I be in your debt.

A present... for me?
O-oh, no, it's no trouble at all. I simply do not understand what I've done to deserve a gift from you...
Something in return for Valentine's, you say? Ah, you mean the hot chocolate.
But that wasn't only from me. It was a representation of the appreciation that the people, the soldiers, and I have for you.
I'm afraid I do not deserve this...
Hm? You chose this gift together with the soldiers and people of the city?
I-is that so... Just when did you...
Ahem. In that case, I suppose I will have to accept it.
You have my gratitude, (Captain). I will have to thank the people and the soldiers too.
Haha. I must say, receiving a gift does evoke a pleasant feeling.

2

Hello, (Captain). Thank you for delivering the supplies.
Hm? I don't believe I remember this box being in our records...
This is... a personal present, for me?
Oh! Today is White Day, isn't it?
Thank you for the gift. You are too thoughtful.
Would it be all right if I opened it now?
I'm a little embarrassed to say that I'm quite eager to know what's inside...
Thank you. Then without further ado...
Is this... perfume?
Mm.... It has a sweet, floral fragrance.
You brought this from a faraway island? I see... That would explain the intriguing shape of the bottle as well.
Seeing items from foreign countries like this certainly piques my interest in other cultures.
Thank you very much, (Captain). I'll be happy to add this to my room's decor.

3

(Captain)? I'm surprised to find you here in this city...
You came to return the favor from Valentine's? Oh dear, you didn't need to...
Oh, no, it isn't a bother! Not at all! It's just that you went out of your way to do so...
You... wanted to? I see... Whenever you say that, I find myself at a loss for words.
Thank you, (Captain). Then I shall open this with gratitude.
Oh my! What a beautiful hand mirror!
The design is unfamiliar to me—could this be a handicraft from a distant country?
Goodness. Something from an island in a completely different skydom?
It seems you travel much farther than I had imagined...
Someday, I, too, would like to travel to many different islands and other skydoms to expand my own knowledge and experiences.
Thank you very much for this precious item, (Captain).
I will treasure this hand mirror from you.
Actually, would you happen to have some time right now?
Perfect. I just received some teacakes that are quite reputable.
Since you came all the way here, please allow me to serve you something so you can relax before you leave.

4

Welcome, (Captain)! Thank you for going out of your way to visit.
When you let us know that you'd be stopping by, our entire nation started celebrating.
His Majesty has gone to great lengths to prepare a grand reception for you all.
Oh? You're here for me, you say?
This is supposed to be a thank you gift for Valentine's Day?
Wait, come to think of it... Today is White Day, is it not?
You came all this way to deliver this present?
It appears I've misunderstood your message... I already told everybody of your arrival.
Thank you, (Captain). I'll graciously accept your gift.
But if you could do me the favor of meeting everybody, that would be much appreciated. They're all looking forward to seeing you.
They would love to host you—if your schedule allows, of course. And I, too, would be happy to have you here.
That's a relief to hear! Thank you very much!
Tonight, we will hold a magnificent banquet in your honor. But before that, why don't we rest and have a cup of tea? Tell me about your travels thus far.
Haha, I look forward to another exciting tale. I'll show you the way to my private quarters, (Captain). Shall we get going?

Trick or Treat Cutscenes
# Link Text
1

Hello, (Captain). You came at the perfect time.
Oh, this lantern? It's Halloween today.
In the past, Halloween was an occasion to welcome as well as send off the spirits of the dead.
That is why I thought of hanging up lanterns in the city to guide the spirits of our ancestors as they go on their way.
Oh, but I'm also distributing candy to the children like every other year.
After all, the smiles of the children become the energy we adults need.
With that said, here is your share, (Captain).
You may be the captain of a skyfaring crew, but you are still quite young.
Soon you, too, will become an adult, so please treasure this time while you can.

2

How charming! That costume suits you very well, (Captain)!
Ah, it's Halloween today, isn't it? What a pleasant surprise to see you look so different today.
Trick... or treat?
I'm sorry. I'm afraid I don't have any candy with me at the moment...
Then I'll have to opt for a trick, you say? By wearing... these fur-clad ears for the rest of the day?
I'm very sorry, but... as a general whose role is to protect the country, I must remain a role model for my fellow soldiers.
That is to say, as I'm currently in the middle of work, I don't think it would be wise to give any wrong ideas...
Hm? You were asked by the children... and also received permission from the king?
I see... If that's the case, then I suppose it wouldn't be right for me to refuse.
I put it on. It's my first time wearing something like this, so I'm a little... embarrassed...
Um, (Captain)... Please don't stare at me like that. It makes me feel shy, and I'm suddenly overcome with an urge to run away...
But I must say, for you to have predicted that I would accept if you consulted with the king in advance... I wouldn't expect any less from you.

3

Happy Halloween, (Captain).
I already know what you want to say. You'd like to ask about these ears I have on, do you not?
Actually, a new custom is being implemented here starting this year, where both soldiers and civilians will be dressing up in costumes to celebrate the Halloween night.
Oh yes—you haven't forgotten the appropriate greetings for Halloween, now have you?
Hehe. Very good, (Captain). There, there.
Oh! M-my apologies, how bold of me to stroke your head in such a way. Please forgive my imprudence.
I was distributing treats to some children earlier, you see...
The innocent way you said "trick or treat" to me was very endearing, as if you were my little brother.
You... didn't dislike it? I-I see... I'm relieved to hear that.
Ahem. Well then...
I do believe I have a treat for someone who was able to say their Halloween greetings properly. Here you are.
As you may have noticed, there are many shops open to celebrate the Halloween season this year.
Would you like to take a walk around?
Hehe, wonderful. Let's go then, shall we?

4

Oh! That suits you quite nicely, (Captain)!
How is the costume's size? Is it too tight anywhere? Or on the contrary, too loose?
I believe I've taken your measurements in the past, but those around your age always grow so remarkably quickly...
It fits just right? Then I suppose everything is fine.
I've prepared your costume this year such that you, Lyria, and Vyrn all match.
I had always dreamed that you would one day wear a set of clothing I tailored for your sake—but to think that such a wish would be realized so soon...
Ah, yes... I personally customized the costume you're wearing. I hope you don't mind.
Worry not. I'm more than skilled at tailoring. Back when I was still a servant, I was tasked with all kinds of needlework.
I'm confident that I've made you the cutest possible costume, (Captain).
I'm more than certain that if you go around asking for treats dressed as you are now, you'll receive even more than usual.
Haha, shall we be off then? Those soldiers over there are itching to present you with the snacks they've prepared.

Happy Holidays Cutscenes
# Link Text
1

Dinner preparations are almost complete. We are running a little off schedule for handing out presents to the children, but I expected this much.
I appreciate your assistance, (Captain). We should be able to carry out the holiday arrangements as planned.
With the war having just ended, I'd like this night to be a special one for the people...
Nothing too grand, of course, but I believe an occasion like this is also necessary.
Well then, I should be able to handle the rest of it.
I won't keep you, (Captain). Please feel free to return to the others.
I expect they are all waiting for you.
Happy holidays, (Captain). I pray that today will be a wonderful day for you.

2

Welcome, (Captain). I've long anticipated this day when I can finally invite you to join our country's festivities.
Please take a look. This is a special winter night traditionally celebrated in Erdeni, with a variety of stalls set up that sell food and handicrafts.
It's rather small compared to how it used to be, but I'm glad to see that our country's recovered to a point where we can hold seasonal celebrations once more.
Of course, all of this is thanks to you and your crew's support.
The winter celebration is an event where those in the Erdeni army entertain the country's people and guests of honor as an expression of our gratitude.
Since you, the very person who saved us all, are here as our guest tonight, everyone is especially excited this year.
Hehe. See? They're calling out your name left and right. Everyone's in high spirits.
To be able to serve food and show our gratitude and goodwill to our country's savior is a great honor for us.
Now, (Captain). If you could wait here in front of this stall.
I'd like to treat you to some Khuushuur, one of Erdeni's traditional stall foods. I hope it'll be to your liking.
Let the night begin!

3

(Captain), thank you for the invitation to your crew's winter feast.
Oh, surprised? Yes, these are presents from His Majesty himself.
He wished to send these items as compensation for not being able to attend the celebration. Though I'm sure you are quite taken aback...
His Majesty was overjoyed upon receiving your invitation to tonight's celebration.
However, it is most unfortunate that it happens to coincide with an assembly the king must attend.
He lamented the fact that he needs to prioritize work of hardly any urgency over a special celebration you so kindly invited him to.
Hehe. He threw a tantrum like a child and had the others quite perplexed, I must say.
It truly is thanks to all of you that His Majesty has become someone who is able to jest and offer gifts to others.
After all, it is because of your efforts that our country was able to return to its peaceful days from once upon a time.
And with that, I have been sent by His Majesty to enjoy the celebration to my heart's content in his place.
Thus, I shall follow His Majesty's instructions and celebrate together with you tonight. Thank you for having me, (Captain).

4

(Captain)...
It's time to get up, (Captain)...
Well, this won't do... I may have no choice but use the technique I learned from Zawra...
Hm? Heh. Good morning, (Captain).
You seem confused as to why I'm here.
Tonight is the holiest of nights. Both the crew and the people of Erdeni have long awaited spending this day with you.
There exists but one of you, however. Naturally, it's impossible for you to be everywhere at once.
Thus, in order for you to spend the best day possible while also fulfilling the wishes of others, I've been assigned to keep you company.
Your first order of the day will be to procure breakfast. Ah, but before that, you should get changed out of your sleepwear.
Now, if you'll allow me...
Oh? What's the matter? You look surprised.
Making sure you're properly dressed is merely another one of my duties.
Embarrassed, you say? Heh, receiving a helping hand is nothing to be embarrassed about.
Only the most noble of individuals are aided in such a manner. Think of it as an honor.
With that said, let's get to it. Strip, (Captain). Not another word out of you.

Restorative Leadership

After the war between Erdeni and Zilantos, (Captain) and company stay to help with restoring the city of Zaha. Thanks to Shura's precise instructions, the reconstruction progresses smoothly. However, the crew is worried that Shura may be shouldering too many responsibilities.

On a certain island in the Phantagrande Skydom, the country of Erdeni—famed for its many sites of historical importance—and the country of Zilantos were at war with each other for many years.
(Captain) and the crew assisted Erdeni in their fight and, after many challenging trials, were finally able to put an end to the war.
Following their victory, the crew decided to stay in Zaha, Erdeni's biggest port, to help restore the war-ravaged city to its former glory.
Erdeni Soldier 1: Shura, here is the report from yesterday's investigation of the damage to the city.
Erdeni Soldier 1: And here are the calculations for the materials needed for the repairs.
Erdeni Soldier 2: Shura, you have a letter from His Majesty, King Leonis.
Erdeni Soldier 3: As you ordered, I've conducted a survey on all of the citizens affected by the war and have compiled a list of their needs.
Shura: Thank you very much.
Shura: Hm... Just as we expected. It seems the entire city area has suffered serious damage from the war.
Shura: For now, we will prioritize restoring the...
(Captain) and company arrive at the assembly hall to find their friend, Shura, giving out orders to the soldiers.
Vyrn: Hey, Shura! Over here!
Shura: Ah, (Captain), Vyrn, Lyria. Good morning.
Vyrn: Mornin'! The day's barely started and you're already lookin' pretty busy.
Shura: Not at all. I am merely doing what I can at the moment.
Shura smiles gently at them.
Lyria: Is there anything we can help with today, Shura?
Shura: For today, could you assist with clearing away some rubble? We are planning to use a certain area in the city to set up basic lodgings for civilians.
Shura hands the crew a piece of paper.
Shura: After that, if you could follow the task schedule here...
Lyria: Wow, thank you for preparing this for us! I'm sure you already have a lot to do...
Shura: Please don't worry about it. This, too, is part of my job as Erdeni's military strategist...
Shura: Or should I say, my responsibility to ensure that Zaha is fully restored.
Shura: The work will be hard, but your assistance is much appreciated.
The crew give an enthusiastic nod and turn to make their way toward the location written on the paper.
Following Shura's instructions, (Captain) and company arrive at the appointed location and begin their work immediately.
The area is to be cleaned of debris so that temporary lodgings can be set up for victims who have lost their homes in the war.
Lyria: Whew... It's looking a lot cleaner, isn't it?
Vyrn: Yeah! Now we just gotta figure out how t'get this pillar outta the way...
A giant stone pillar lies in the middle of the field, remnant of the building it once belonged to that was destroyed during the battle.
Vyrn: Hmm... It's gonna take a lot more than just us to lift this up...
Lyria: But if we don't do something about it, they won't be able to build anything here...
Vyrn: Yeah... Maybe we should go back and ask Shura what she thinks.
Shura: No need for that.
The crew turns to find Shura already at the scene. Behind her are soldiers carrying a large amount of logs and ropes.
Shura: Now, please begin.
Erdeni Soldier 1: Yes, ma'am!
The soldiers salute and proceed to lay out the logs. In the blink of an eye, they successfully hoist the pillar onto the logs and begin to transport it.
Shura: We will deal with the stone pillar.
Shura: After the rubble has been cleared away, may I ask you to proceed with preparing the soil for building?
Shura: Feel free to use these tools from our engineering unit. I've had them adjusted so that they are easier for you to use.
Lyria: Wow! Thank you so much, Shura!
Vyrn: Boy, are you on top of things! How'd ya prepare all that so fast?
Shura: I simply had people investigate the areas we need to restore ahead of time.
Shura: Preparing for something that may pose a problem in the future is not such a difficult task.
Erdeni Soldier 2: Shura, it's about time for us to head to the next place...
Shura: All right. Well then, I'll leave this in your hands.
Vyrn: Whew! I can't believe she's handlin' everything all by herself!
Lyria: It's hard enough remembering where everything is... It's amazing how she can even think of a solution for each problem!
The crew is silent for a moment, admiring their friend's competence.
Still, they worry about Shura and the burden she continues to bear for the sake of her country.
Once the crew finish clearing away the debris, they proceed to help with distributing emergency rations.
However, the rations are clearly insufficient compared to the large number of people in the city.
Lyria: What should we do? We won't have enough for everyone...
Shura: There is no need to worry.
Lyria: Oh! Shura!
Shura: All of the reserve stock at the military base is being transported here and will be used as rations for the people instead.
Shura: We should have enough for everyone here.
The crew look behind them to see Shura once again, carrying a large box in her arms.
Around her are several soldiers carrying boxes of their own.
Shura: Could I ask you to help with distributing the extra rations as well?
Vyrn: That's not a problem for us, but you sure it's gonna be okay?
Shura: We should soon be receiving relief supplies from elsewhere in the country and abroad.
Shura: I have also taken the liberty of preparing several emergency stores, in case we find ourselves in an unexpected situation where we are unable to secure more supplies.
Lyria: Oh, I'm so glad... I was worried that some people might not be able to eat.
Lyria: Now everyone will be happy!
Shura: Yes... It would be a problem if the people were dissatisfied with the situation.
Shura: This, too, is a tactic of sorts.
Lyria: A tactic?
Shura: Our country's soldiers risk their lives to fight at the front lines of war, and in return, they expect a certain amount of respect and gratitude.
Shura: After fighting long and hard to win this war, now they are splitting their own supplies and distributing them to the people.
Shura: Offering the army's supplies will certainly gain the soldiers the respect and gratitude they desire.
Shura: And in turn, the gratitude of the people will serve as motivation for the soldiers and boost morale among them.
Shura: Of course, the army can reward its soldiers with benefits and time off.
Shura: However, it is the admiration of the people that truly supports each and every soldier, inspiring them to protect their country.
Lyria: That's true... We feel happy and want to help even more when someone says thank you to us too.
Vyrn: Whoa, so I guess we're not just handin' out stuff... Pretty sneaky of ya!
Shura: Haha. There is no better compliment than that for a strategist.
Shura: One must be open-minded and consider all options equally.
Shura: If it is for the sake of the country, then all available avenues should be pursued.
Shura: I must do all that I can so this city—this country—can become a better place.
Shura continues to go around the city, giving precise advice where necessary before hurrying off to another place.
It is thanks to her persistent efforts that the day progresses without a hitch.
The crew finish all of the tasks on their schedule and decide to take a break.
Shura: Thank you for all of your help. I've brought you some refreshments.
Shura: Please have some if you'd like.
Lyria: Wow! Thank you so much!
Vyrn: Awesome, I was just gettin' thirsty! Thanks!
(Captain) and the others happily receive the drinks and snacks from Shura.
Lyria: Mmm! This is so delicious, I could eat a thousand of them!
Lyria: It has just the perfect amount of sweetness... Just what I needed for a boost of energy!
Vyrn: This drink here's nice and cold. I've never tasted anythin' like it before...
Vyrn: Just takin' a sip makes me feel less tired!
Shura: It's a special drink made by mixing salt, fruit juice, and nectar from flowers. It's very effective in eliminating fatigue.
Shura: As for the confection Lyria is eating, it's made with seeds that are good for replenishing strength. The seeds were ground into powder and kneaded into the batter.
Lyria: You know so much about them... Could it be that you made these yourself, Shura?
Shura: Indeed. I am somewhat skilled in preparing food, if I may say so myself.
Shura: While I was growing up, my parents were quite busy, you see. I often assisted them with chores and cooking.
Shura: The cook at the place where I was employed was also kind enough to teach me a few things in between our work.
  1. This really is delicious.
  2. Can you teach me how to make it?

Choose: This really is delicious.
Shura: Haha. I'm glad you like it so much.

Choose: Can you teach me how to make it?
Lyria: Oh, I want to know too! Then I can make it for (Captain) later...
Shura: Very well. I can teach you when we have some extra time.
Shura: The recipe is very simple, so it shouldn't be too hard for you to learn it.

Lyria: Sigh... Shura, thank you for the refreshments! They were really good!
Shura: I'm happy you enjoyed them. I hope they were able to help you relax after all the work you've done for us today.
Vyrn: So whaddya want us to help you out with next?
Vyrn: There's nothin' else left on the schedule you gave us.
Shura: Yes, that will be all for today.
Shura: Please leave the rest to us and take some time off for yourselves.
Shura bows her head in gratitude. The crew look at one another in surprise.
Vyrn: Come on, we can do a lot more than that! We had a break and some snacks, so we're good to go!
Lyria: Yeah! I'm ready for more work!
(Captain) nods enthusiastically. But Shura smiles and gently shakes her head.
Shura: I have listed all of the tasks needed for the reconstruction of this city and calculated the appropriate amount of work for each person.
Shura: Any more outside of what I have already assigned you would be overwork.
Shura: No need to worry. I will take over the remaining tasks and finish them according to what I have planned.
Lyria: So you'll be going back to work?
Shura: Of course. Problems will arise, and my instruction will be needed.
Lyria: Um, Shura... Don't you think you're taking up too many responsibilities?
Lyria: Maybe you should ask others for help too...
Shura: I appreciate the concern, but this is my duty.
Lyria: But...
Shura: There is truly no need for you to worry. I will not be working without sleep or rest.
Shura: It is simply that the soldiers and I have more experience in these affairs and, as a result, more stamina that allows us to work for longer hours.
Shura: Please relax and give yourselves plenty of rest. After all, resting is also part of one's duty.
Reluctant to leave their friend, (Captain) and the crew hesitate.
Lyria: I understand what you're saying, Shura, but... do you think you can let us help out just a little bit more?
Lyria: We can't just sit around while everyone is doing their best!
  1. There are people that need our help.
  2. My stamina's not too shabby either.

Choose: There are people that need our help.
Lyria: Yeah! There are lots of people who have lost their homes in this city...
Lyria: We want to help so that they can go back to their normal lives as soon as possible!

Choose: My stamina's not too shabby either.
Vyrn: That's right! We're skyfarers—it's our job to run around helpin' people!
Vyrn: It's gonna take a lot more than this to wear us down!

Shura frowns, hesitation lingering in her gaze, before letting out a sigh.
Shura: Very well. Then I may request your assistance for just a while longer...
Shura: However, your tasks will be limited to those performed under my direct supervision.
Shura: From what I have gauged, you seem to have a tendency to push yourselves too hard.
Shura: I will be keeping watch to make sure that does not happen here.
Vyrn: O-okay... We're ready...
Shura: Then let's begin, shall we?
Despite her deep concern for the crew, Shura does not appear to spare any concern for herself whatsoever.
Worried for her well-being, (Captain) and company stay close behind the Erdeni strategist as she guides them to their next task.

Making Her Decision

While walking with the crew, Shura is surprised to see her foster father, who gives her a letter from Leonis. The letter is an order from the king to capture a certain aristocrat involved with embezzling relief supplies. Little does the crew know that the criminal is none other than the foster father of Renfa, Shura's sister.

Zaha, Erdeni's port city, suffered a great deal of damage from the war.
(Captain) and the crew are now staying in the city along with Shura to help with its reconstruction.
???: It's been a long time, Shura. I'm glad you're looking well.
Shura: ...!
Vyrn: You know this guy, Shura?
Shura: O-oh, yes... When I was young, he took me in and brought me back with him to Sphiria. He's my foster father.
Shura: But Father... why are you here? I thought you were supposed to be in Sphiria...
Shura's Father: It's work. I'm here with the army.
Shura's Father: Sphiria decided to send an investigation team to examine the recently found relics dating back to the time of the creation myth.
Shura's Father: My unit was assigned to protect the investigation team during their mission.
Shura: But is it really necessary for you to accompany them?
Shura: I'd understand if this were a battle, but surely there's no need for someone of your rank to be on the scene for a mere escort mission.
Shura's Father: That was a bit of a selfish request on my part. I'd originally planned to come to Erdeni regardless of my mission.
Shura: To Erdeni? But for what reason would you...
Shura's father chuckles at his daughter's quizzical expression.
Shura's Father: Well, it should go without saying that I wanted to come and make sure you were safe.
Shura's Father: Ever since you went off to Erdeni, you haven't sent me a single message.
Shura: I-I'm terribly sorry, Father. I must have worried you...
Shura's Father: It's not a big deal. I'm glad you're doing well.
Shura: Thank you...
Shura gives a slight bow.
Shura: Then allow me to show you the way to where the relics are being stored—
Shura's Father: Actually, there's one more thing I'm here for.
Shura's father takes a letter from his breast pocket.
Shura's Father: When I went to deliver my greetings to King Leonis, he asked me to pass this on to you.
Shura: From His Majesty? I wonder what it could be.
Shura breaks the seal on the letter and slides the paper out from the envelope. She swiftly scans the contents of the message.
Shura: I see... I did predict something of this sort would happen sooner or later...
Shura: Huh?
As she murmurs to herself, her eyes stop at a particular section of the letter.
Vyrn: What's the matter? That face you're makin' tells me it's not just your regular greeting card...
Shura: O-oh, no, it's nothing.
After seeing her father off, Shura stands with a slight frown, lost in thought.
Vyrn: Hey, you sure there's nothin' wrong? You're lookin' pretty worried there...
Vyrn: If you need anythin', we're here for ya. Right, (Captain)?
(Captain) nods in agreement.
At their words of encouragement, Shura looks slightly relieved.
Shura: I appreciate your kind sentiments, (Captain).
Shura: Then if it isn't too much, I'd like to ask for your assistance once again.
Shura unfolds the letter from Leonis and shows it to the crew.
The letter is an order from the king to seize a certain aristocrat involved with the embezzlement of relief supplies, and to do it quickly but discreetly.
Vyrn: But why would he want us to do it? Wouldn't it be faster to just ask his own soldiers?
Shura: Since this requires swiftness and discretion, we would need to select the most elite members of our army.
Shura: However, all of our soldiers have been busy with the aftermath of the war, so gathering the appropriate people for this mission would take time.
Shura: That is why I would like to ask all of you to help with this mission instead.
Shura straightens up and looks earnestly at the crew before bowing her head.
Shura: (Captain), we need you. Won't you lend your strength to Erdeni once more?
  1. You betcha!
  2. Can't stop us now.

Choose: You betcha!
Lyria: Of course! I'm happy you're entrusting this to us!
Lyria: We'll do whatever we can to help, Shura!

Choose: Can't stop us now.
Vyrn: Couldn't have said it better myself! There's no turning back!
Vyrn: Y'know what they say. A friend in need is a friend indeed!
Continue 1
Shura: Oh, thank you so, so much...
Shura expresses her gratitude with another deep bow.
Shura: Please give me some time to organize the information we have before deciding on our plan of action.
Shura gives a final bow to the crew before hurrying off.
Clutched in her hand is another piece of paper—the second part of the letter that she did not show the crew.
In the latter half of his message, Leonis writes that the aristocrat involved with the embezzlement is none other than the adopted father of Renfa, Shura's sister.
Shura: Renfa's foster father...
Shura's grip tightens, the paper crinkling in her hand.
Shura: Who would have thought we would come to meet under these circumstances...
Shura whispers these words to herself and stops in her tracks.
She looks up at the sky, her face clouding over with a mixture of anger and regret.

Making Her Decision: Scene 2

(Captain) and company follow Shura to the aristocrat's residence and infiltrate it. The aristocrat, Velde, attempts to escape, but Shura knocks him out before he is able to do so. The crew hurries to tie the criminal up before he wakes.

Upon accepting their new mission from Shura, (Captain) and the crew make their way to where the aristocrat's mansion is located.
Vyrn: So what's the plan?
Shura: All of us will break in at the same time and capture the target.
Shura: According to an earlier investigation, quite a large number of employees and guards are stationed around the house.
Shura: However, the house is built in a way that once we manage to infiltrate it, we won't need to worry about our disadvantage in number.
Shura: That is why I decided that a small number of elite fighters would be optimal for this mission.
Shura: After we have successfully captured the target, our remaining soldiers will surround the house.
Shura: Further resistance will be futile once we have their employer arrested and the area surrounded. The situation should resolve itself from there.
Vyrn: But what if the rich guy escapes through a secret passage or somethin'?
Shura: No need to worry. I have already put that into consideration.
Shura: I've positioned soldiers disguised as civilians at every passage exit and throughout the city.
Shura: Even if he manages to slip out of the house, he won't be able to get out of this city.
Unconcerned, Shura explains her plan thoroughly to the crew. (Captain) and the others exchange glances.
  1. Okay, let's give it a try then.
  2. Is this really gonna be okay?

Choose: Is this really gonna be okay?
Shura: I understand it is a lot to ask, but I hope you will put your trust in me.
Shura looks at (Captain) with sincere eyes.
Vyrn: Well, guess we just gotta do it... Can't think of a better plan anyway.
Lyria: I'm sure it'll be fine. Shura's the one who thought of this plan.
Lyria: And we know she's a fantastic strategist!
Hearing Vyrn and Lyria's words of encouragement, (Captain) finally nods.
Choose: Okay, let's give it a try then.
Shura: Thank you, (Captain). Then let us begin this operation.
(Captain) and company infiltrate the aristocrat's house according to Shura's plan.
Suppressing the various guards they encounter along the way, the crew swiftly make their way to the aristocrat's private quarters.
Shura: That's his room over there. Charge!
They kick the door in and rush into the room.
???: Eek!
Inside the room, (Captain) and the others find a man frantically stuffing a number of documents and valuables into a bag.
???: Th-those useless idiots! I pay them a fortune and they can't even buy me a bit of time!
The man curses and pulls out a sword, whipping it out in front of him.
???: Do you lot know who I am? I could have your heads in an instant if I wanted—
???: Huh? Wait... Aren't you...
Shura: It seems there won't be any need to introduce myself. Then let's get down to business, shall we?
Shura thrusts her weapon at the man, the tip of it stopping just an inch from his throat.
Shura: Lord Velde. As per the king's orders, I hereby put you under arrest for the embezzlement of relief supplies.
Shura: If you come quietly, I can guarantee your safety.
Shura: However, if you resist, I cannot promise that you will leave this place unharmed.
Velde: D-don't make me laugh!
Velde: Me? Arrested for such a petty thing? You think I'm gonna let that happen!
Shura: That is not for you to decide.
Shura: If you wish to explain yourself, you may do so in front of His Majesty.
Shura: Although, as gracious as our king is, I doubt he will sympathize with your motives.
Velde: N-no! I can't let it end here... This is me we're talking about!
With a scream of rage, Velde swings his sword at Shura.
Shura: I don't think so!
Shura easily parries his attack with her blade and, in the blink of an eye, strikes the rampaging aristocrat on the side of his head.
Velde: Ergh!
Vyrn: W-whoa there!
Shura: Don't worry, I merely struck him with the back of my weapon.
Shura: Let's capture him while we can. It will be troublesome if he wakes up and starts struggling again.
Still lost in wonder at Shura's flawless movements, the crew hurries to tie up the unconscious man.

Making Her Decision: Scene 3

A swarm of monsters attacks the city, and Velde manages to escape among the chaos. While Shura goes to give instructions on exterminating the monsters, (Captain) and company chase after Velde. The aristocrat reveals that he was responsible for sending Shura's parents to their execution.

(Captain) and company succeed in capturing the target.
They head outside the house to wait for the cart Shura has arranged to take Velde away.
Soldier 1: Shura, preparations are complete.
Shura: Good work. Take him away.
Soldier 1: Yes, ma'am!
Velde: L-let go of me! Keep your hands off me! How much do you want? Name your price! Just let me go!
The soldiers throw Velde into the back of the horse-drawn cart before hopping onto the front and driving away.
Shura: Whew... And that completes our mission. (Captain), thank you very much for your cooperation.
Shura smiles at the crew and bows.
Shura: Well then, we should head back—
Suddenly, a bloodcurdling howl pierces the air.
Shura: ...!
What is that?
Soldier 2: Shura! It's an emergency!
Soldier 2: Monsters! A swarm of monsters has invaded the city...
Monster: Groooar!
Civilian 1: H-help me... Ahhh!
Civilian 2: N-no, please... Help... Eeeek!
Civilian 3: S-stay away! Don't come near me!
Shura: We'll exterminate the monsters and rescue the civilians at once. Change formation to—
Soldier 3: Ma'am! We've just received a report that the cart transporting Lord Velde was attacked by monsters and destroyed!
Soldier 3: Lord Velde was seen to have escaped into the forest amid the chaos!
Shura: What about the men driving the cart?
Soldier 3: It seems they suffered some serious injuries, but all of them have been accounted for. They're currently being treated at headquarters.
Shura looks distressed at the soldier's report.
Shura: Understood. Have all of our soldiers on hand assist with the monster extermination and evacuation of civilians.
Soldier 3: Yes, ma'am. What should we do about Lord Velde?
Shura: It is the military's duty to protect the people. I will take responsibility for Lord Velde and go after him.
Shura: I can—
  1. Leave it to us!

Choose: Leave it to us!
Vyrn: We'll go catch that rich guy for ya!
Shura: B-but... this all happened because I failed to take this possibility into consideration beforehand.
Shura: How could I ask all of you to bear the consequences of my miscalculation...
Vyrn: Come on, we don't have time for that! If we split up the work, we can catch the guy and save all those people in the city!
Shura: ...!
It takes a moment for Vyrn's words to sink in. Shura finally sighs and straightens up.
Shura: You are right.
Shura: Then, (Captain), I will entrust this matter to you.
Shura: Once I have the situation in the city under control, I will catch up with all of you.
(Captain) nods and turns to head toward the forest where the soldiers last saw Velde.
The crew tread through the thick trees in search of Velde.
After a while, they catch sight of the figure of a man creeping between the tree trunks.
Velde: Huff... Huff... This... can't be the end for me!
Velde: Huff... Huff... They'll never... find me... I won't let them.
Velde: Just watch. Someday I'll come back and...
Vyrn: There he is, (Captain)!
Velde: ...!
You lot tracked me down?
Frightened by the sight of the crew, Velde breaks into a run.
But in a flash, (Captain) closes the distance and tackles Velde to the ground.
Velde: Argh! Why you... Get off me! Let me go!
Vyrn: Come on, just give up and let us catch ya already!
Velde continues to struggle, trying to squirm out of (Captain)'s grasp.
Lyria and Vyrn quickly fling some ropes around him and secure them with a tight knot.
Lyria: There! Now you can't run away anymore!
Velde: Ack! So close... I was so close!
Velde: All I needed was their heads... then I could've lived the life I've always wanted in Zilantos!
Velde glares venomously at the crew.
Vyrn: Huh? Just whaddya mean by that?
Shura: This man had been planning to bring Renfa and Luhua's heads with him and defect to Zilantos.
Shura comes up from behind them to answer their question.
Lyria: Shura! Is everything all right in Zaha?
Shura: Yes. I have rearranged our units and chain of command. Things are under control.
Shura: I've also called for reinforcements from other units stationed close by. We should have the monsters exterminated in no time.
Shura shifts her cold gaze to Velde, who is huddled on the ground.
Shura: In a country like Zilantos where personal merit is said to be valued, by offering up the heads of their most wanted criminals, he could guarantee high status for himself.
Shura: But it was a foolish and poorly thought-out plan—as one would expect from someone who only has eyes for money and status.
Shura's younger sister, Renfa, and formerly the strongest general of Zilantos, Luhua.
They are currently Zilantos's most wanted criminals for the assassination of the country's king.
Shura: You were gathering the necessary funds to do so through the embezzlement of supplies...
Shura: Furthermore, for the sake of raising your own status, you planned to use Renfa...
Shura: Renfa, your own adopted daughter... Absolutely despicable.
Velde: Hmph. Why should I have any special feelings toward that thing?
Velde: It is a servant. Servants are tools for their masters. How I decide to use my tools is up to me.
Lyria: A tool? How could you say that... That's terrible!
Velde: Terrible? What's terrible is that girl I took in!
Velde: You have no idea how much I've lost because of her... Commoners like you wouldn't understand!
Velde: She was stupid and uneducated, but her looks were the finest. That's why I bought her!
Velde: That weasel never learned her place. She just had to go and sink her claws into a man from the enemy... and then betray the entire country!
Velde: That's why I charged the girl's real parents and had them executed!
Velde: I had them take the responsibility for her actions—to their graves!
Shura: Executed?
Shura's brow furrows at Velde's words.
Shura: But Renfa's real parents were killed in the war...
Velde: I told you. The responsibility that would have fallen on my shoulders...
Velde: For her deception, killing officials, betraying the country...
Velde: I had her parents take it all instead.
Shura: Is... Is that so...
A look of remorse washes over Shura's face as mixed feelings churn inside her.
Shura: Truly, I have nothing but regrets. If only I hadn't gone to another family, but stayed with Renfa and our parents instead...
Shura: I was the only one who could protect Renfa... If only I had enough power then to turn you away...
Velde: Protect the girl? But why would you...
Velde: Wait... Now that you mention it, that girl did say something about having an older sister who left after being adopted...
Velde: That must mean you're...
Shura: Who I am is no longer your business.
The sound of footsteps grows louder as Shura's soldiers appear from behind the trees and surround the area.
Velde: Let... Let me go! I'm not done!
The soldiers grab Velde and drag the flailing man away, his cries fading into the distance.
Shura: Perhaps this will bring some closure...
Shura whispers to herself as the forest around her grows quiet once more.

Making Her Decision: Scene 4

Shura apologizes to the crew for all the trouble that happened, but (Captain) and the others remind her that everyone is here to help her. A few days later, Shura visits her parents at their grave and thinks about how she should live her life from here on out.

With the incident finally resolved, the crew breathes a sigh of relief.
Vyrn: Phew... Well, that's one case closed.
Shura: Indeed. I'm terribly sorry for all the trouble I have caused all of you.
Shura lowers her head in apology.
Shura: The capture of Lord Velde should have been my responsibility.
Shura: But my power alone proved to be insufficient, and we were only able to resolve this with your support.
Shura: All of this was a result of my inexperience. Please accept my deepest apologies.
Lyria: Don't worry about it! Nobody would have guessed that a swarm of monsters would start attacking the city...
Shura: No... It is my duty to think of every possible situation and be prepared to handle any unexpected occurrences.
Shura: I was unable to make the correct judgment in the heat of the moment. The mistake is clearly mine.
Shura: I must focus and work harder. I need the power to protect what's dear to me with my own two hands...
Shura quietly murmurs to herself, an expression of anguish on her face as she looks down at the ground.
  1. Can't be done.
  2. That's pretty arrogant of you.

Choose: Can't be done.
Lyria: Shura, (Captain)'s right.
Lyria: There's only so much you can do by yourself...
Lyria: That's why you should depend more on other people. We're here for you! I'm sure we can handle anything if we do it together!

Choose: That's pretty arrogant of you.
Shura: Arrogant?
Vyrn: Well, sounds to me like you think you can do everythin' without anyone's help.
Vyrn: But why take it on all alone when we're right here with ya? We can do it together!
Continue 1
Shura: ...
Shura: Do it... together?
Shura: That... has never occurred to me before.
Shura: I've always assumed that I need to be able to handle everything myself...
Shura looks thoughtful, a hint of hesitation in her eyes.
Shura: I'm sorry. I understand what all of you are trying to say, but it's difficult to change the way I think so suddenly...
Lyria: No, I'm sorry... We're being kind of pushy, aren't we?
Lyria: But I hope you can depend on us more!
Vyrn: You've got more than enough on your plate! Share some of it with us!
Shura: Haha... Yes, you may be right.
Shura: I will take what you've said into consideration. Then perhaps, little by little, I will try to open up more...
Shura breaks into a smile, relief washing over her as if a large burden has been lifted.
Several days later.
After some investigation, Shura is able to locate where her parents are buried and goes to pay them a visit.
Shura: Father. Mother. It's been a while.
Shura: I'm sorry I couldn't come see you after leaving for Sphiria...
Shura: If you wanted to scold my lack of filial piety, I could hardly blame you.
Shura crouches before a small pile of stones that mark her parents' grave and places the flowers she brought beside it.
She closes her eyes and offers up a silent prayer.
After some time, Shura slowly stands up, her expression somber.
Shura: Actually, there's something I want to talk to you about today.
Shura: It's about Lord Velde... The man who took in Renfa, and sent you to your execution...
Shura: It turns out he never thought of Renfa as anything but a tool.
Shura: Father... Mother...
Shura: I've regretted it ever since I heard that Renfa betrayed our country.
Shura: If only I hadn't gone out to work... and agreed to be adopted by another family... I could have stayed by her side.
Shura: If only I'd had the power to protect what's important to me... then maybe Renfa would've been able to live a proper life.
Shura's breath catches as she thinks back to what her sister said to her on the battlefield.
Renfa: You're so arrogant! You blame yourself for everything that goes wrong! Even if it was something that I did!
Renfa: You have no idea how miserable and pathetic that makes me feel!
Renfa: My actions are my own responsibility! Not yours!
Shura: I always thought that... it was my fault she ended up on the wrong path.
Shura: That we were always poor even though we worked so much because I didn't earn enough.
Shura: That Renfa refused to do anything because I didn't teach her well enough.
Shura: But you know... she told me that I was being arrogant.
Shura: (Captain) and the others told me the same thing.
Shura: I just... I didn't want to lose anything.
Shura: That's why I wanted to be able to do anything and everything. I wanted the power to protect what was important to me.
Shura: But Renfa and the others made me realize that trying to do everything by myself really was arrogant of me.
Shura takes a deep breath and closes her eyes for a brief moment. She opens them again to gaze at her parents' grave.
Shura: So... I'm going to try to think differently. I want to change how I live, and how I am.
Shura: How can I live in a way that I won't regret? How can I protect what's important to me?
Shura: I'm going to keep that in mind from now on. I hope you'll continue to watch over me, Father. Mother.
Shura makes a quiet promise in front of the grave.
Her only wish remains the same. But the path she walks to achieve this wish is beginning to change, little by little.
Whether this change will bring Shura closer to her ideals...
Only the future can tell.
