Happy birthday!
Let's all celebrate together! Hang on, I'm gonna go and get the cake I ordered from the Knickknack Shack...
I wonder what's gonna happen over the next year? I bet we're both gonna get way, way stronger!

2

You know, you've gotten pretty tough this past year!
But I'm not gonna let you beat me! I'm gonna get even tougher!
So let's keep fightin' together! Let's do it!

3

Hey, (Captain)! Is there anything you want from me?
Cuz, you know, it's your birthday!
That's the day of the year when you get people to do things for you! So name anything and I'll do it!
I could go hunting for you or I could share some of my cake... How about we eat it together?
Just name whatever you want!

4

Happy birthday, you! Another year, huh?
I'm glad I get to celebrate this big day with you again this year!
That means that we managed to survive and not become prey for whole 'nother year!
That's really something else, don't you think? You're amazing!
Nyahaha! As long as I'm with you, we're forever on top of the food chain!
So let's keep flying high together and keep on surviving, (Captain)!
This year, and the next year, and the next year after that...
Let's celebrate your birthday forever!

5

I heard it's your birthday, (Captain)! Congrats, you survived another year!
Not like that's a surprise or anything, since we're both super strong!
Anyway, let's get ourselves some cake. I prepared another one this year just for you!
Oh, come on, (Captain)! It's your special day today! This cake's all for you, so eat up!
Wait, but if you do that, then I won't get my share... Hmm, this is a tough one.
Oh well, we can both eat it! And if it's not enough... we'll just make another one together!

Happy New Year!
Brr! I hate the cold... Hey you! Bring me some blankets, willya?

2

Ah! You finally woke up! You're late, (Captain)!
I just realized something super cool! No matter how cold it gets, I can stay warm if I just keep moving!
So let's duke it out, (Captain)! The first duel of the new year... starts now!

3

Hey, hey, (Captain). Let's play battledore! Siero taught me a while ago!
All right! Are you ready? Here it comes! Hm? What's wrong?
What? I'm not supposed to use an axe in this game?
But Siero said I need to hit this in order to win the game.
Now that we're neck-deep, don't think I'm going to let you run away!
Here we go! Get ready, (Captain)!

4

Nnngh... New year, shmew year... I just wanna sleep...
Let's sleep in a little longer, (Captain)... At least until sundown.
Oh no you don't! I can only rest easy knowing you're here with me.
And I need your precious body heat! Animals in the wild cuddle together to stay warm in winter, you know!
Yoof!
Nyahaha! Well aren't you nice and snuggly.
Yawn... Now this is... more... like it...

5

(Captain)... Whatcha doing out here? It's cold, so let's head back to the ship...
Huh? A snowball fight?
What? Is that a challenge? It is, right? Yeah, you're on!
I just have to chuck snow around, right? Heheh... If that's all there is to it, then it's gonna be a—
Blergh! Ugh, that's cold! You really did it this time!
I'm gonna give it my best shot too! Take this!
Gahaha! How's that? Now all the snow up there's gonna come sliding down the mountain!
Then even you won't be able to get away, (Captain)...
Huh? That's bad? Everyone else in the area's gonna go down with it? Oh... You're right!
Then we'll just hafta stop that surging wave of snow in its tracks! Come on, (Captain)! Let's take it on together!

Valentine's Day Cutscenes

1

There're all sorts of chocolates made at this time of year! And they all look so tasty!
I um, tried making some too... Wanna eat some with me?

2

So this Valentine's thing is all about giving chocolates to the person you like, right?
I didn't really get it last year, but...
Anyway! I like you a whole bunch, so no problem, right?
Check it out! I made you chocolate this year too, so let's chow down together!

3

(Captain), I made chocolate this year too!
Oh, right! I was told to give this to you in a special way.
All right, (Captain)! Open up wide!
I'm just doing what I was told to do! This is how I'm supposed to give it to you, right?
Seofon said you'd be happy if I fed it to you!

4

Hey, check it out, (Captain)! I've made you chocolate again this year! Come on, try some!
C'mon, open wide!
Say aaahhh!
Well? Is it good? Do you like it?
Choose: It's incredible!
All right!
I really took my time with 'em this year. Way better than last year's, don'tcha think?
I've always just kinda winged it, but Tweyen taught me how to make 'em right this time!
I'm just glad to see it really paid off!

5

(Captain)! I made chocolate again this year!
Here, open wide!
How is it? This year's batch is pretty good too, right?
Hm, your face says otherwise... But I tasted it myself, you know. It tastes like how chocolate's supposed to taste, right?
I followed Tweyen's recipe and added some meat, fish, and vegetables this year! It should be healthier than last year's!
Huh? Come on... I made it just for you, so you shouldn't be so picky.
Hm... How about this! I was gonna give it all to you, but we can eat it together instead!
I'll help out, so you better dig in too, (Captain)!

Happy White Day!
Today's the day for returning the favor from Valentine's! Now then... Cough up the chocolates!

2

White Day? Oh right! The day when you give back for Valentine's Day!
Whadja get me? Cake? Is it cake? I love cake!
There's nothing I want more than to eat the cake I love with the person I love!
Right? So let's eat this one together! On the count of three... Cake!

3

Wow! It's white chocolate cake! What's the occasion?
It's White Day? Oh yeah! That's Valentine's Day part two, right!
Hey, can I chow down on all this tomorrow?
Alrighty th—
Wait! I have an idea!
Let's eat it together, (Captain)!
Things always taste better with friends like you, (Captain)!

4

What's with the jumbo-sized box, (Captain)?
This is for... White Day?
White Day... White Day...
Oh, that's right! In return for Valentine's Day!
Whoa... Chocolates, cookies, cakes and ice cream...
Heh, you've really outdone yourself! I'm so happy... Thanks, (Captain)!
Say, White Day is the opposite of Valentine's Day, right?
In that case!
Ahh.
Aaahhh...
Come on, already! I said, "aaahhh"! You did it for me on Valentine's Day, remember?
Now this time it's your turn to feed me!

5

Glance...
Don't worry, I'm not looking.
It's not like I saw you preparing something in return for the Valentine's chocolate I gave you!
Niyon told me that it's polite to pretend not to see someone getting their gift ready!
So... Is it ready? Is it? Well?
Wow, the cake this time looks great too! Come on, hurry up! I'm waiting!

Trick or Treat Cutscenes

1

Happy Halloween!
I'm not really into tricks, so I'll take a treat!

2

Roar!
Heh heh heh. My costume is perfect this year! Now, gimme candy!
Huh? What costume?
I'm already the perfect monster! I don't need strange clothes to show that!
Uh... I still want some of that candy so...
Trick or treat! Come on, just hand over that candy already!

3

Did you know that trick or treat means pulling a prank or getting a candy?
But who wants to pull a prank? They don't even taste good or make your tummy full.
Instead of "trick", how about "fight"?
So choose: fight or treat? I could go either way!
But you know what? Both sound great! I could really go for something sweet like candy or cake, but I also wanna fight...
I've got it! Fight and treat!
After I've had my candy and cake, I'm coming for you!

4

Candy day is upon us once again! Hand over the goodies, (Captain)!
I just know you're loaded up on a whole bunch of candy, aren't ya?
Oh? You'll give me all the leftovers once you've passed them out to everyone else?
All right! Lemme help! Everything for the candy!
Come on, let's go already!

5

Hehehe. Halloween's here again!
Check this out, (Captain)! Seofon gave me a bunch of candy this year!
You're gonna have some too, right? Oh, but wait. I guess it wouldn't be very Halloween-y if I just gave it to you...
All right! Why don't we go pull some tricks on Seofon?
I'll play another trick on him and get even more candy! It looked like he had plenty with him anyway!
Besides, I'm pretty sure Seofon will be happy with any trick if you're the one pulling it with me!

Happy Holidays Cutscenes

1

Happy holidays!
It's hunting season... and I want to bag me a Santa!
Then all his loot will be mine! Huh? That's not how it works?

2

Didja hear, (Captain)? We're throwing stars on the walls to decorate for the holiday season!
Seeing everyone make their own stars is pretty incredible...
But never fear, (Captain)! Because I'm here!
I'm gonna get me a star... guaranteed!
And the way I'm gonna do it is by dragging one out of the sky myself! Hold on a sec, okay?

3

Hey, hey! This year I'm going to be helping out with the dinner!
Cause, you know... You guys always do so much for me.
Now then... I'm going to go hunt for a huge dragon!
What do you mean why? Siero said we need meat and cake for our dinner!
Oh! You want something even bigger than a dragon to eat?
Leave it to me! I'll make sure to find something really good!

4

Say, (Captain), don't you think Santa's amazing?
I mean, he flies his reindeer across the skies, knows who's naughty and nice, and delivers all of his presents in just one night!
I wonder what kind of guy he is? I've gotta meet him and see for myself!
That does it! I'm gonna stay out all night and keep my eyes open for him!
(Captain) solemnly explains to Threo that Santa has powers that can keep him invisible to the naked eye.
Oh... So that's how it is. I guess I won't be able to find him then...
You think maybe Santa's some kind of mighty sorcerer of sorts or something?
I know! I should just ask Fif what to do about him then!

5

Hey, (Captain), have you ever met that old Santa dude?
I'm sooo jealous. I heard from Fif that he's an amazing magician!
I can meet him if I'm a good girl? Okay, but...
How exactly do you qualify to be a "good girl"?
Hmm... Don't be picky about my food and go to bed early?
That means I've been a really good girl! If it's meat I'll eat anything, and I go to bed right when I get sleepy!
Santa's definitely gonna come see me this year, right? I'm so excited!

Encountering the Eternals I

(Captain) and company visit Sierokarte for advice on how to awaken the Three-Tiger Axe, and a stranger named Threo suddenly interrupts their conversation. After the crew leaves, Threo tells Sierokarte that the group had a peculiar smell about them.

The crew has succeeded in unlocking part of the Three-Tiger Axe's hidden power.
The crew has turned to Sierokarte for advice on how to fully awaken the revenant weapon.
Vyrn: So? What do we do next?
Sierokarte: Mmm, yes. This Three-Tiger Axe still has more potential...
Sierokarte: Not just its strength as a weapon, but the hidden power within it.
???: Siero, Siero, Siero! Remember that job I told you about?
???: I was about to take down that monster, but then I took down the client's house instead!
Sierokarte: Ahh... Threo, I'm in the middle of a conversation right now.
Threo: Hm? Wha! Sorry! I didn't notice!
Sierokarte: Threo, I'll let you have some cake afterwards if you'll give me a moment here.
Threo: Oh boy, cake! Got it! I'll wait right here!
Sierokarte: Excellent! Just keep it nice and quiet if you can.
Threo: Okay! Nice and quiet! That's me!
Sierokarte: Right. Now where were we?
Vyrn: Oh, uh... So what should we do next?
Threo: Lalala... Caaake, caaake... Hm? Sniff, sniff...
After receiving advice from Sierokarte on how to awaken the Three-Tiger Axe, (Captain) and company leave the shop.
Sierokarte: Sorry for the wait, Threo.
Threo: Hey, Siero... Who were they?
Threo: They... They smelled odd.
Sierokarte: Hm? You mean (Captain) and the others?
Sierokarte: They're a skyfaring crew who've been making a name for themselves around these parts.
Threo: Hmm, I see... Skyfarers, huh?
Sierokarte: Oh, that reminds me. I promised you some cake, didn't I?
Threo: Cake? Oh yeah! Bring on the cake!
Sierokarte: All right, wait right there. Someone happened to give me some, so I'll head to the back and get it.
Threo: Roger that! I'm gonna wait here like a boss!
Threo: Lalala... Caaake, caaake...

Encountering the Eternals II

While Sierokarte gives (Captain) advice on how to awaken the Three-Tiger Axe, Threo appears once again. After a series of peculiar exchanges with Threo, the crew discovers she is a member of the Eternals, a crew of the most skilled fighters in the sky.

Sierokarte: Incredible! It looks like your Three-Tiger Axe is well on its way to awakening.
Lyria: Wow! We're getting there slowly but surely, aren't we!
Sierokarte: Mmm. I think the best thing to do next would be to—
Sierokarte: Wha! What was that?
Vyrn: Whoa, that felt like a mini-earthquake. Think there's a monster nearby?
Lyria: Huh? Looks like there's a commotion outside...
Threo: Siero! Big problem! Help!
Sierokarte: Oh, Threo, it's you... What's wrong this time?
Threo: Your door's too small! I can't squeeze the dragon through!
Sierokarte: ...
Pardon me?
Threo: I told you! I slayed a dragon and dragged it all the way here, but your door's too tiny!
Threo: Where should I put it? In front of the shop? Or should I take it to the kitchen?
Sierokarte: L-let's just take a step back for a moment, Threo. Can you explain what happened? Start from the beginning please.
Threo: Oh! Right! I was taking a nap up in the mountains when this dragon attacked me.
Threo: I killed it and brought it here. I can't eat it all on my own, so I thought I'd share it with you.
Sierokarte: I'm sorry, but I'll have to respectfully decline.
Threo: Aww...
How about you guys then? Want some dragon meat? It's my specialty!
Vyrn: Um, n-no thanks... We're good...
Threo: Whoa! A lizard! Looks like it'd be delish on a spit-roast. That an emergency ration or something?
  1. How rude!
  2. You're not getting any!

Choose: How rude!
Threo: Hmm? What's it for then? It's so small you can't even use the skin to make a shield.
Vyrn: Hey! Watch what you're saying! I ain't no lizard!

Choose: You're not getting any!
Vyrn: Hey! You could at least tell her I ain't no emergency ration!
Threo: Hahaha! You guys are funny!
Continue 1
Lyria: Um, excuse me! But Vyrn is a friend of ours, and—
Threo: Ah! What's that you're holding?
Lyria: Hm? You mean the Three-Tiger Axe?
Threo: Ain't that a... That, uhh, whatchamacallit... Oh! A revvin' it weapon!
Lyria: A r-revvin' it weapon?
Sierokarte: I think you mean revenant weapon. There are only ten revenant weapons in the world and the Three-Tiger Axe is one of them.
Threo: Yeah, that's it! You're going to awaken that revenant weapon? Wow! You're incredible!
Vyrn: Heh heh! Well, everyone knows how awesome (Captain) is—
Threo: Well, not as incredible as me though!
Vyrn: ...
Threo: But you're gonna get even stronger! I can smell it!
Lyria: Y-you can smell it?
Threo: Huh? You can't?
Lyria: Erm...
Sierokarte: By the way, Threo, I'd really appreciate it if you didn't leave that dragon in front of the shop.
Threo: Oh! Right! My bad!
Threo: I'll eat what I can and leave the leftovers up on the mountain then! I'm sure the animals there will like it!
Sierokarte: Definitely. I'm sure they'll love it.
Threo: I know, right? Thanks, Siero! See you later! You guys too! Good luck with the revvin' it weapons!
Threo leaves the shop, dragging the dragon along in her wake.
Vyrn: Wh-what just happened? And she said revvin' it again, didn't she...
Lyria: A dragon attacked her while she was asleep and she still managed to defeat it. Wow.
Sierokarte: That's nothing to Threo. She's one of the Eternals!
Lyria: The Eternals?
Sierokarte: A legendary crew of the strongest fighters in the world. Some people even call them the menace of the skies!
Sierokarte: Each one of them is a master of their chosen weapon. You've really never heard of the Eternals?
Vyrn: Whoa... So she might not look like much, but that girl's a pretty big deal, huh.
Sierokarte: She can be a little strange at times, but when she's got an axe in her hand, she's unstoppable!
(Captain) and company have had another bizarre encounter with the eccentric Threo, a member of the Eternals.
Little do they know that this chance meeting will soon change their lives forever.

Encountering the Eternals III

One day (Captain) and company find Threo shouting at a man who tried to take advantage of her, and they send the scoundrel to the authorities. Threo then asks the crew if they truly intend to awaken the Three-Tiger Axe. When they answer in the affirmative, she mutters some ominous words.

One day (Captain) and company leave the Grandcypher to stock up on supplies from town.
Lyria: Looks like that's everything on the list.
Vyrn: Hey! Let's get some apples on the way back!
Lyria: Vyrn! We can't! Katalina said we need to save as much as we can right now!
???: Hey! You've got some nerve, bub!
Vyrn: Uh-oh, sounds like a scuffle's in the works.
Lyria: It sounds serious... We should go have a look, (Captain)!
Suspicious man: Eeek! F-forgive me! I'm sorry! I apologize!
Threo: Apologize? If you think a sorry's gonna cut it, then... then, uhh... Hmm...
Lyria: E-excuse me, but what happened here?
Threo: Huh? Oh, it's you... Um... the revvin' it weapon guys!
Vyrn: Revenant weapon! It's called a revenant weapon!
Threo: Yeah, yeah, revenant weapon! So? What's up?
Lyria: We were just passing by when we heard shouting... What happened?
Threo: Oh, don't even get me started! This jerk was trying to con me!
Threo tells them that the man tried to dupe her into using her power for his personal gain.
Suspicious man: Blast... I was so sure it would work... What could have given me away?
Choose: How rude!
Threo: You thought you could fool me? You're right!
Suspicious man: Huh?
Choose: You're not getting any!
Threo: I believed you! You totally tricked me! Well, more like I didn't really understand what you were saying!
Threo: But I'm pretty stupid, so I just trusted my guts over my brains!
Suspicious man: What?
Vyrn: Instincts... Smells... She's starting to sound more like a wild animal than a person...
Threo: Oh, and you're gonna pay for tricking me. You're gonna pay big time.
Suspicious man: Eeep!
Lyria: Wha! She looks like she's going to hurt that man!
Lyria: We need to calm her down, (Captain)!
(Captain) and company successfully persuade the enraged Threo to hand the man over to the city guards.
Guardsman: Wow, you guys are amazing. We've been after this slippery con man for ages.
Guardsman: He's swindled a lot of people with his cajolery. How did you catch him out?
Vyrn: Nice job seeing through that guy's sham, Threo! And with nothing but your gut to go on!
Threo: Mmm. Well, there is that, but I couldn't have done it without Anre's advice.
Threo: I may be stupid, but I'm stupidly strong too, so he told me something...
Threo: He said lots of people will try to use me.
Threo: And if I felt someone was suspicious, he said I should crush 'em without a second thought.
Guardsman: I-I see... But if your hunch had been wrong...
Lyria: W-well, let's all just be glad that the bad man was caught!
Though he still seems doubtful, the guardsman salutes the crew and takes the swindler away with him.
Threo: Say! By the way, that weapon you guys have... the revvin' it weapon?
Vyrn: It's a revenant weapon...
Threo: Yeah, that! Looks like it's gotten a heck ton more powerful than before!
Lyria: It sure has! We asked Siero, and she told us it's almost ready to awaken.
Threo: Sweet! And you guys are looking stronger too. Just as I knew you would!
Vyrn: Yeah, took a lot of work, but it looks like it's paying off!
Threo: But... are you guys really going to awaken that weapon?
Lyria: Huh? Well, that's what we're planning to do. Right, (Captain)?
Threo: I see... Oh well...
Threo: And I was really starting to like you guys too...
Lyria: Huh? What's wrong? What do you mean?
Threo: Ah, it's nothing! Don't worry about it!
Threo: Good luck awakening that revvin' it weapon! I'll be rooting for you!
Threo leaves without another word.
The crew catches a glimpse of loneliness in Threo's expression. Unbeknownst to them, they will soon discover the meaning behind Threo's words.

The Axe Master

Soon after (Captain) awakens the Three-Tiger Axe, Threo appears before the crew and challenges (Captain) to a duel. Threo tells the puzzled group of her fear of weakness, declaring that she would never hand over the title of most powerful warrior to anyone.

(Captain) and company finally succeed in awakening the Three-Tiger Axe.
With a great sense of accomplishment, the crew shares the good news with Sierokarte and returns to the Grandcypher.
Vyrn: Whew, that took forever!
Lyria: Hehe, it took a while but we made it! Congratulations, (Captain)!
Lyria: And it was well worth it! You can practically feel the power coming off the Three-Tiger Axe!
Vyrn: Right? It's incredible. I can't believe we finally made—
Wha?
Threo: There you are.
Lyria: Threo? You don't seem like your usual self.
Threo: I've been waiting for you, (Captain). You've awakened your revenant weapon, haven't you?
Vyrn: Wow! How'd you find out so fast? Did you come to celebrate with us?
Threo: Looks like I was right... I was really hoping I wasn't.
Threo: Well, wishing isn't gonna change anything... Prepare to fight, (Captain)!
Vyrn: Wh-what are you talking about? You're joking, right?
Threo: Joking? I ain't got the patience for that sorta thing.
Threo: I never beat around the bush. Draw your weapon, (Captain).
Lyria: W-wait! Please! Why're you doing this?
Threo: Cause this sky isn't big enough for two axe masters. I'm gonna have to put (Captain) down.
Threo: I'm top dog around here. I know that for a fact.
Threo: But now you've gone and done it. You awakened the Three-Tiger Axe, and that makes you an axe master as well, (Captain).
Threo: I may be stupid, but even I know there can't be two number ones.
Threo: One of us has to go, (Captain). It's you or me.
  1. I think you're stronger.
  2. I never said I wanted to be number one.

Choose: I think you're stronger.
Threo: I don't like lies, (Captain). I know how powerful you really are.
Threo: We're equals, you and I. Almost equals, at least. That's why a duel is the only way to settle this.

Choose: I never said I wanted to be number one.
Threo: Doesn't matter. Like it or not, want it or not, you're strong. That's all there is to it.
Threo: But I'm not going to let you be the strongest! That's me and no one else!
Continue 1
Vyrn: D-do you really have to fuss over who's called what? Can't we all just get along?
Threo: For as far back as I can remember, I'd been raised by wild animals in the forest.
Threo: Until Anre found me, I knew nothing but that forest. And in the wild there's but one rule...
Threo: Only the strongest survive. The weak are eaten by the strong. If you're weak... you're meat.
Threo: I don't plan on getting eaten. I'm scared of being eaten. I ain't gonna be prey.
Threo: I'm always going to be at the top of the food chain! I've got to be the strongest!
Lyria: Threo! No one's trying to do that to you!
Threo: (Captain) might not be! But if just one person accepts that I'm not number one...
Threo: Then it's over! It's all over! Even if that one person is me!
Threo: I'm the greatest axe wielder in the sky. Threo of the Eternals! And I won't hand that title over to anyone! Prepare yourself!

The Axe Master: Scene 2

Defeated by (Captain), Threo asks how she should be punished. When (Captain) and company are at a loss for ideas, Threo resolves to aid them on their journey by joining the crew.

Threo: Ngh... Huff... Guess... I lost, huh?
Vyrn: Whew, I thought I was gonna have a heart attack back here.
Lyria: Threo...
Threo: You beat me fair and square, no doubt about it. You really are something, (Captain).
Threo: I was no match for you... but I did my best. I've got no regrets!
Threo: So now you can do what you want with me! Boil me, or fry me as you will! Just don't do anything that hurts! I'll cry! Seriously!
Lyria: Wh-what do we do?
Vyrn: I dunno... We didn't exactly plan all of this out.
  1. Leave her.
  2. Let her do what she wants.

Choose: Leave her.
Threo: What? You can't just walk away like that!

Choose: Let her do what she wants.
Threo: You can't do that! The loser has to do what the winner says!
Continue 1
Lyria: Oh my, looks like we're all stumped...
Threo: Don't tell me you didn't think about what to do to the loser?
Vyrn: Of course not! You were the one who jumped us, remember?
Threo: Oh yeah... Well, then I guess I'll just stick with you, (Captain)!
Lyria: Huh? You mean...
Threo: You beat me, so I work for you now! I'll follow you wherever you go!
Vyrn: Doesn't look like we can talk her out of it. But I guess we don't mind, right?
Lyria: And you're so strong too, Threo! We could really do with your help!
Threo: It's settled then. Better get used to having me around, (Captain)!
And so Threo of the Eternals joins (Captain)'s crew.
Having a companion whose name is known throughout the sky will doubtless be an enormous boon for the crew.

True Strength

During what seemed to be another routine day, Threo abruptly announces that she is craving some rabbit meat from the forest in which she grew up. Realizing that she hasn't returned to her home since she left, Threo asks the crew to join her on her visit.

(Captain) and company are spending another average day aboard the Grandcypher. Or so it seems.
Threo: I want some babbit meat!
Vyrn: Huh?
Lyria: Um... You want a what?
Threo: It's a rabbit from the forest where I grew up! They're really tasty when you roast 'em! Pretty cute too!
Lyria: Y-you eat them even though they're cute?
Threo: Hm? Why not? I always hear people saying how stuff is so cute they could eat it!
Vyrn: That's just a figure of speech! You're not supposed take it literally.
Threo: Hm? Litter what now? S-stop using big words. You're confusing me!
Vyrn: Sigh... Anyways, why are you bringing this up all of a sudden?
Threo: Well, the food we usually eat is great, but I'm craving some food from home!
Vyrn: Aw, you're homesick!
Threo: Guess so!
Threo: I haven't gone home once since I left the forest.
Threo: Hey, would you mind if I visit my home?
Threo: Or better yet, why don't you guys come too? You're gonna love it!
Vyrn: Why not? It's not like we're in a hurry to get anywhere.
Lyria: I've always wanted to see the forest where you grew up!
Threo: The place is huge! Your mind's gonna blow when you see it!
Threo: It's decided then! Let's go, Grandcypher!

True Strength: Scene 2

Upon arriving on the island, (Captain) and company hear the sound of a child screaming. Though Threo thinks it's natural for a weak child to be hunted down in the forest, the crew drags her along to help.

Threo leads (Captain) and company to the forest where she grew up.
Threo: We're here! But we're not there yet!
Vyrn: What? Which is it?
Threo: My forest's way past this field!
Threo: There are too many trees in the forest to land the airship, so we gotta walk from here!
Vyrn: Ugh... There's not a tree in sight. We must have a ways to go.
Threo: I wonder if the tree I slept in is still there.
Threo: Oh, and that one herd... I wonder who their alpha is now. Hehe.
Lyria: You're really looking forward to this, aren't you!
Threo: You bet! Man, this brings back memories!
Threo: Wrestling with bears, getting into fights with monsters...
Threo: Chasing down rabbits from sunrise to sunset... Hehe, they were so tasty.
Vyrn: Wait. That means after you caught the rabbits you—
???: Aaah!
Vyrn: Sounds like some kid's in trouble!
Threo: Oh yeah, kids usually get hunted down when they wander into the forest.
Lyria: W-we need to go help!
Threo: Huh? But they're easy prey. Of course they'll get—
Lyria: Now's not the time! Come on! Hurry!
Threo: Okay, okay! I get it! I'm coming! Just let go of me!

True Strength: Scene 3

Threo seems to get along well with the child as she tells him of the law of the jungle. Bandits appear, agree with her philosophy, and demand the crew's valuables. Threo shows them who the real prey is.

Child: Sob... Hic... Th-thank you for saving me.
Lyria: Are you all right?
Child: Sob... Yeah...
(Captain) and company rush toward the source of the scream and save the child from the monster just in time.
Vyrn: Didn't you know there were monsters around here? What were you doing out here all by yourself?
Child: A friend was leaving to another island, so I was seeing him off. I was just on my way home.
Threo: Kid, you gotta be able to handle a monster like that by yourself!
Vyrn: What? That's a bit much to ask, don't you think?
Threo: Is it? When I was his age, I was beating monsters with my bare hands.
Lyria: Your standards might be a little too tough for him, Threo.
Child: Wow, you're so strong.
Threo: That's right! The only person that's ever beaten me is (Captain) over there!
Threo: No mere monster is ever gonna beat me!
Child: Wow! How'd you get so strong?
Threo: I'm strong because the forest raised me!
Threo: There's no place in the forest for the weak. You gotta be strong to survive!
Threo: If you wanna eat, you've got to run and fight for it.
Threo: You can't even let your guard down when you sleep at night. You never know when you might get attacked!
Child: Wow... Th-that sounds rough.
Threo: Sure was! But it was fun too!
Child: I see... That does sound a little fun.
Threo: Heh! If you wanna be strong like me, why don't you try living in the forest too?
Threo: You're bound to get stronger if you do! The forest is an amazing place!
Threo: I may be strong now, but I still don't think I'm any match for the forest itself...
Child: Gulp... S-sounds like a crazy place...
Lyria: Looks like he and Threo are getting along well.
Vyrn: Well, Threo's pretty much a kid too!
Threo: The forest may be fun, but you have to always be on your guard.
Threo: The strong prey on the weak... That's the only law of the jungle.
Scoundrel 1: That's right, kids! The strong prey on the weak!
Scoundrel 2: And I'm hungry for your valuables!
Child: Eek!
Vyrn: Wha! Where'd they come from? We're surrounded!
Scoundrel 1: The law of the jungle is nice and simple, isn't it?
Scoundrel 1: It says weaklings like you better do as we say. Now give us all you've got!
Threo: I'm glad you get it!
Scoundrel 1: Huh? Kid, I don't think you understand the situation you're in right now.
Threo: Of course the strong prey on the weak. That's just how it is.
Scoundrel 1: Y-yeah... So give us all your—
Threo: But I'm the strongest in the sky! Well... me and (Captain)!
Threo: You picked the wrong group to mess with! Let's show these guys who the predators are around here, (Captain)!

True Strength: Scene 4

Threo wears a serious expression as she and the crew arrive at the town, and she abruptly runs away. When the crew catch up to her, she tells them that the forest where she grew up used to be where that town now stood. As she faces the harsh reality, she tells (Captain) not to leave her as the forest did.

(Captain) and company drive away the scoundrels and decide to escort the child to his home.
Child: Over here! Come on! Hurry!
Threo: Coming...
Vyrn: Man, that kiddo came from really far away.
Threo: ...
Lyria: Is something wrong, Threo? You seem deep in thought.
Threo: I... I could be wrong, but... this way looks like...
Threo: Hey, are you sure this is the right way?
Child: Yeah, why?
Threo: I see...
Led by the child, (Captain) and company make their way across the fields.
Eventually they arrive at a well-kept town bustling with people.
Threo: No...
Vyrn: Hm? Something wrong? You're unusually quiet.
Threo: This place... was my forest.
Lyria: What? But there's no forest here.
Threo: The forest where I grew up... was right here...
Threo: Past the fields and east of the marking... It's supposed to be here...
Threo: How... Where's the tree where I slept? Where are the rabbits...
Child: Miss?
Threo: The forest where I grew up... The forest that raised me...
Threo: It was so strong... How... How could it lose to these weaklings?
Child: Wha!
Threo: ...?
Threo: ...!
Vyrn: H-hey! Where are you going?
Lyria: Threo? Wait, Threo!
Child: Huh?
Threo suddenly runs away, and (Captain) and company follow her back to the Grandcypher.
Threo: ...
Threo: Hey, (Captain)... I'm strong, right? I'm on the top of the food chain, right?
Threo: That forest raised me. It made me the greatest predator there was... But the forest itself became prey in the end.
Threo: It lost to those people... People too weak to even fight monsters...
Threo: When I saw that town... When I found out how it had devoured the forest... I wanted to level every last building in that place.
Threo: I wanted to take the forest back from them... But I couldn't do it.
Threo: When I saw that kid's face... For some reason, I couldn't do it.
Threo: Say... What does strength mean anyway? I'm supposed to be the strongest of all... But why does it hurt so much?
  1. I don't know.
  2. Let's figure it out together.

Choose: I don't know.
Threo: Yeah... Me neither...
Threo: I'm no genius, but... I think this is a hard question even for smart people.

Choose: Let's figure it out together.
Threo: Mm... Okay. It's a promise then.
Threo: I'll trust that someday you'll tell me the reason for my pain...
Continue 1
Threo: I'm strong... But I'm still so weak...
Threo: I want to be even stronger so I don't have to feel like this again.
Threo: (Captain). I'm gonna get stronger than ever... And I want you to be right there with me.
Threo: Don't disappear on me... Don't turn into someone's prey... Promise me.
Threo finds new resolve in the face of a harsh reality.
And so Threo seeks true strength in the course of her journey with (Captain).

Unstoppable Sass

Threo has been missing for several days, and the crew is worried sick. Suddenly she reappears before the crew. She explains that she has gotten stronger by hunting dragons and challenges (Captain) to a duel to test her strength.

Lyria: Oh dear... Where could Threo have gone?
Vyrn: Sigh... If she was going somewhere she could have at least told us.
It's been several days since Threo's disappearance.
A most worried (Captain) and company have been searching tirelessly for her ever since.
Threo: Hey, guys, I'm back!
Lyria: Th-Threo!
Threo: What's going on? You guys look like you've seen a ghost.
Lyria: Where in the skies have you been, Threo? We were looking all over for you! We've been worried sick!
Threo: Huh? Ohhh, my bad! I've been out hunting that!
Threo hooks a thumb over her shoulder. Behind her can be seen a dragon splayed carelessly on the ground.
Lyria: I-is that a—
Threo: Super strong dragon! Yep! Found him while I was out on a job!
Threo: I'd never seen this type of dragon before, and it smelled crazy strong!
Threo: So I tracked it down and slayed it!
Lyria: So you're saying you were away all that time because you were hunting this dragon down?
Threo: Yup. Sounds about right.
Vyrn: Sigh... Why am I not surprised.
Vyrn: Mammoth of a dragon you got there though.
Threo: Not just big but powerful too! He really gave me a run for my money!
Threo: Thanks to that I've gotten stronger! Or at least I think I have!
Threo: And you know what that means! Time for a duel, (Captain)!
Vyrn: Whoa, whoa, back up. I'm not seeing the connection here.
Threo: (Captain)'s gotten stronger since we last fought. I can smell it.
Threo: But so have I! I've been fighting and fighting and getting stronger too!
Threo: And now I want to see just how strong I've gotten!
Threo: (Captain) and the Eternals are the only ones who I can really go all out on.
Threo: Guess you could think of it like a... uhh... a routine checkup!
Threo: You don't mind, right? Please!
Wincing at the attempted metaphor, (Captain) nods.
Threo: Thanks!
Threo: All right! Let's go then!

Unstoppable Sass: Scene 2

Threo loses but says she knew (Captain) would be a formidable opponent. She mentions something that could unlock even greater power within a revenant weapon and suggests visiting ancient battlegrounds in search of it.

Threo: Ngh!
Y-you win...
Vyrn: Whoaaa, (Captain)! You actually knocked the axe out of her hands!
Lyria: That's amazing, (Captain)!
Threo: I know I've gotten stronger, but it looks like I've still got a ways to go.
Threo: Good match, (Captain)! You sure are tough!
Threo: I knew I was right about you! My gut never lies!
Lyria: Your... gut?
Threo: Yeah! When we first met, I had a hunch (Captain) would get stronger. Wasn't wrong!
Vyrn: Now that you mention it, you did say something like that back when we were still trying to awaken the Three-Tiger Axe.
Lyria: I think I remember that too. It was after we caught that con man.
Threo: Three-Tiger Axe? What's a Three-Tiger Axe?
Vyrn: It's the revenant weapon!
Threo: Ohhh, the revvin' it weapon!
Vyrn: Sigh... Not again...
Threo: Hmm... I feel like Anre mentioned something about this before...
Threo: Argh, I can't seem to remember what is was though... Hmm.
Vyrn: You okay? Haven't seen you think this hard since... Well, I've never even seen you think.
Threo: I know for sure Anre said something about the revvin—I mean revenant weapons. Hrmm, what was it... It's on the tip of my tongue.
Threo: Oh yeah, now I remember! Something about really old battlegrounds!
Threo: On those old battlegrounds, there's something that can unlock the true power of the revenant weapons!
Vyrn: Wait... You're telling us it can get even more powerful?
Threo: Anre said so!
Lyria: But what's that something supposed to be?
Threo: I dunno. I think Anre told me, but I forgot.
Lyria: Ah... Ahaha... I see...
Threo: Hey, (Captain). How about we go to those battlegrounds?
Threo: I wanna find out what the real power of a revenant weapon looks like!
Threo: Plus there's bound to be tons of other stuff we can find there.
Threo: Or at least that's what I think Anre said.
Lyria: Ah... Ahaha...
Threo: Not to mention fighting a bunch of monsters is sure to make me stronger!
Threo: Then I can finally beat you and prove that I'm the toughest in the sky!
Vyrn: She never changes, does she.
The crew can do nothing but laugh nervously at Threo's words.
Threo, she who seeks ultimate power at all costs.
Little does she know that she still lacks a trait necessary to be the strongest of all.
But she will soon find out.

One Bad Axe

A lone Threo prowls the dark halls of a sleeping Grandcypher, questing for the source of an unknown odor, which turns out to be the Three-Tiger Axe. The axe speaks to her and challenges her to a duel to determine her strength.

Threo: Hmm, I don't recognize this scent.
A lone Threo prowls the dark halls of a sleeping Grandcypher, questing for the source of an unknown odor.
Threo: Did some critter sneak onto the ship?
Threo: But I've never smelled anything like this before. Definitely not an animal I've met.
Threo: Urgh, this scent is giving me goose bumps.
Threo: I gotta find out where this is coming from though. Don't think I can sleep unless I do.
Threo: This must be it.
Threo: Hiya!
Threo: Huh? Nothing here. But the scent is definitely coming from this room.
Threo: Sniff, sniff... The axe... Uhh, what was it called again?
...
As if to answer Threo's question, the Three-Tiger Axe begins to glow brightly.
Three-Tiger Axe: I ask. Dost thou seeketh power? Dost thou seeketh ultimate power?
Threo: Whoa! The axe is talking! Hmm, no one ever told me axes could talk.
Three-Tiger Axe: Once more I ask. Thou seeketh power, dost thou not?
Three-Tiger Axe: Power unequaled, power supreme, dost thou seeketh not?
Threo: Uhh, not sure why you're asking, but of course I do! The weak are prey to the strong. Everyone knows that.
Threo: And nobody wants to be someone else's lunch! At least I don't. So I wanna be stronger than anyone ever!
Three-Tiger Axe: Thou hast answered well. Now let us test the strength of thy resolve.
Three-Tiger Axe: I challenge thee.

One Bad Axe: Scene 2

The Three-Tiger Axe tells Threo to strengthen her will by fighting others stronger than her and asking them why they seek strength. She decides to follow the weapon's advice by battling each Eternal and (Captain).

Three-Tiger Axe: Well done.
Threo: I gotta admit, you were pretty strong. Not as strong as me though!
Three-Tiger Axe: Thou spoke of seeking power, hast thou not?
Threo: Yep!
Three-Tiger Axe: Thou art powerful. True as that may be, thy heart... is weak.
Three-Tiger Axe: Continue down this path, and thou shalt reach oblivion before thy goal.
Three-Tiger Axe: To attain the power thou seeketh, thou must temper not only thy body but also thy heart.
Three-Tiger Axe: Nay. Thou must awaken thy consciousness. Only then shall thou know true power.
Threo: ...
Threo: I-I don't get what you're saying! Stop using hard words!
Three-Tiger Axe: ...
Wield me, contest with those stronger than thou, and understand them.
Threo: Uhhh... So all I have to do is fight strong people, right?
Three-Tiger Axe: Indeed. And ask. Seek their reason for strength.
Threo: And if I do that, I'll get stronger than I am now?
Three-Tiger Axe: Indubitably. The Three-Tiger Axe vows.
Threo: Okay!
Threo: But there ain't anyone around as strong as me except for the Eternals and (Captain).
Threo: And I lost to (Captain) not too long ago...
Threo: I know what I'll do then. I'll fight all the Eternals, and once I've gotten stronger, I'll try taking (Captain) on one more time!
With that, Threo hoists the Three-Tiger Axe onto her shoulder and strolls away.
Her quest for strength has begun.

An Axe to Grind... Nine Times

Threo goes to see the leader of the Eternals, Seofon. She explains how she was told to contend with others and ask them why they seek strength. Seofon fears that she might be possessed by the revenant weapon but agrees to help.

Seofon: Well, how about that. To think you've come to see me instead of Anre.
Threo: Help me, Seofon! You're the only one who can!
Seofon: Only me? Well, well.
Seofon: As the leader of the Eternals, I'd be glad to hear your request.
Threo: Okay! I need you to fight me!
Seofon: Wha? Hang on a second! Why would you want to do that?
Threo: I wanna get stronger!
Threo: This axe told me that I could do that by training my heart. Whatever that means.
Threo gestures to the Three-Tiger Axe in her hand.
Threo: And to do that, it told me to fight those stronger than me.
Threo: Oh, and it told me I have to find out why they want to be strong.
Threo: Anyway, just fight me Seofon! And tell me why you became strong!
Seofon: Threo. Have you been... possessed by the Three-Tiger Axe?
Threo: Hm? Possessed? Don't know what you're talking about, but I'm no one but me right now.
Seofon: A-all right.
Seofon: (It seems she is just how she usually is. Guess I'm just being overly cautious.)
Seofon: (I'm surprised though. That's awfully kind of the Three-Tiger Axe, giving Threo that advice and all.)
Seofon: Anywho...
Seofon: If that's the case, ol' Seofon's not going easy on you!

An Axe to Grind... Nine Times: Scene 2

Seofon says that he simply wanted to collect weapons and got stronger as a side effect. Threo is puzzled by his answer and wonders how asking questions like this will make her stronger, but Seofon replies that she must find that out for herself.

Threo: Yes! Victory!
Seofon: Whew, you got me. Didn't expect you to be that strong.
Seofon: (Hmm, guess I could still go on. But would I really want to?)
Seofon: And now you ask me why I sought my power?
Threo: Yep! Tell me!
Seofon: Hmm... Well, I didn't want to be strong per se... I just kind of kept collecting weapons and before I knew it... Boom. Here I am.
Threo: That's the reason? What're you supposed to do with all those weapons anyway?
Seofon: Well...
Threo: Oh, I get it. You're making a nest! You can't attract a female yourself, so...
Threo: You're going to make a big nest to do it for you!
Seofon: Hey! I'm not some wild animal, okay? And for your information, I am very popular with the ladies!
Threo: Seriously? Then what're you gathering all those weapons for?
Seofon: Well, because I like collecting weapons of course!
Threo: You collect them because you... like collecting them. Uhhh, I don't get it.
Threo: How's asking all these questions going to help me get stronger anyway?
Threo: That's what I wanna know.
Seofon: Oh, I know why.
Threo: Really? Tell me, tell me!
Seofon: Sorry, no can do. As much as I want to tell you, there's no point if you don't find that out for yourself.
Threo: Tsk... This is why you don't have any friends.
Seofon: Wha... Is that what everyone thinks of me? That I don't have any friends?
Seofon: Okay, I'm sorry! I'll answer your question! Wait! Come back! Don't ignore me! Please! Threooo!
Threo draws one step closer to her goal.
But the road to ultimate power stretches far ahead still.

An Axe to Grind... Nine Times: Scene 3

Threo decides to next meet Seox but happens to encounter Eahta along the way. Having heard of the situation from Seofon, Eahta wastes no time in initiating the battle.

Threo: Hmm, okay. He said to follow this road straight ahead. Should be easy enough.
Having received directions from Seofon, Threo sets off on foot to find Seox.
Eahta: There you are.
Threo: Eahta! Great timing! I need to ask you to—
Eahta: Seofon has told me. No more words are needed.
Eahta: En garde.

An Axe to Grind... Nine Times: Scene 4

Eahta reveals that he seeks strength for its own sake. Threo thinks their motivations are the same, but Eahta corrects her by saying that her motivation is born from fear.

Threo: I win!
Eahta: Impressive. You crush finesse and skill with brute force. I'd not foreseen such a tactic.
Threo: Say, Eahta. Why'd you want to get as strong as you are?
Eahta: ...
Eahta: The goal is the reason itself. Nothing more.
Threo: Oh, I know what you mean! You gotta be strong or you're gonna be prey, right?
Eahta: Nay. The strength I seek and the strength you seek are as black is to white.
Eahta: I quest for strength alone.
Eahta: My pursuit is not born from fear, unlike yours.
Threo: Hm? What's that supposed to mean?
Eahta: You will learn... in time.
Eahta turns his back to Threo and walks off.
Threo: Never did understand the things he says.
Threo pauses a moment and then resumes walking down the path to Seox.

An Axe to Grind... Nine Times: Scene 5

Finally meeting with Seox, Threo explains herself, but he declines her request. Only when Threo takes his mask does he agree to help in exchange for its return.

On a quest for greater strength, Threo appears before Seox.
Threo: Seox! Fight me!
Seox: ...
What?
Seox raises a quizzical voice. Threo explains what the Three-Tiger Axe told her.
Seox: Go away. I've no reason to fight you.
Seox declines and turns to leave.
Threo: Wait! Even if you don't have a reason, I do!
Seox: Ngh! Let go of me!
Threo: Come on! Just a little spar!
Seox: Nothing you say is going to change my—
Seox: ...!
Spotting an opening, Threo snatches Seox's mask.
Seox: S-stop it. G-gimme back my mask... Give it back!
Threo: Now are you gonna fight me?
Seox: F-fine! I-I'll fight you! Just give the mask back...
Threo: Promise?
Seox nods and receives his mask from Threo.
Seox: Tsk, you got me this time.
Seox: But you're going to regret it!

An Axe to Grind... Nine Times: Scene 6

Seox says he had to seek strength to live, which Threo interprets as in line with her ethos of eating or being eaten. She once again asks the Three-Tiger Axe why she's fighting all the Eternals, but it's silent.

Threo: Another one bites the dust!
Seox: How... How could you predict all my attacks with nothing but intuition?
Threo: I could roughly tell where you were from your scent!
Seox: Sometimes I wonder if you're actually a beast...
Threo: All your tiny attacks are annoying too. How about trying to go big and heavy?
Seox: I'm not a hulking mass of brute force like you! I'd be crazy to take you head-on!
Seox: Sigh... And you wanted to know why I got to where I am?
Threo: Yep!
Seox: I didn't want to be strong. I needed to be. It was that or death. That's all there was to it.
Threo: So you're just like me! If you're weak, you're just someone else's lunch!
Seox: I'm not sure how I feel about being understood by you. But that's right.
Seox: I was also seeking light... Light to chase away the darkness...
Seox: Like the light that (Captain) and that skyfarer had...
Threo: Light? What're you talking about?
Seox: I've said too much. We're done here, aren't we? I'm going.
Threo: Hmm, is all this really going to make me stronger?
Three-Tiger Axe: ...
But to that question the Three-Tiger Axe remains silent.
Threo: Oh well. Now who's next...
Threo walks away with the Three-Tiger Axe in hand.

An Axe to Grind... Nine Times: Scene 7

Threo goes to the forest to see Tweyen but is greeted with an arrow fired in her direction. Tweyen apologizes and says that she thought Threo was a wild animal. After hearing Threo explain the situation, Tweyen agrees to help her.

Threo enters the forest in which Tweyen lives.
Threo: ...!
Threo: That was a close one!
Tweyen: Hm, that sounds like... Threo, is that you?
Threo: Tweyen! There you are! Give me some warning before you shoot next time! You scared the hair balls outta me!
Tweyen: Oh, I'm sorry. I felt something in the air and I thought you were a large animal.
Threo: Ahh, guess I can't blame you there! I tend to get that a lot!
Tweyen: And what brings you all the way out here?
Threo: I came to see you!
Tweyen: Me?
Tweyen: I do recall hearing talk that you were going around challenging each Eternal.
Threo: That's right! Will you fight me?
Tweyen: And why would you want to fight me?
Ah, was it that you wanted to be the world's strongest?
Threo: Yup!
Nodding to Tweyen's words, Threo tells her what the Three-Tiger Axe said.
Tweyen: I see. You're trying to grow.
Tweyen: All right. I guess I can help you with that. But I'm not going easy on you.

An Axe to Grind... Nine Times: Scene 8

Tweyen says she sought power to protect her friends and avoid solitude. Threo feels the same way, and Tweyen wonders if this is because (Captain) and company have changed her.

Tweyen: You win this time.
Threo: Pant... Pant... Tweyen! No fair! It's a pain to get to you when you keep attacking from so far away!
Tweyen: I think you're the one who isn't fair.
Tweyen: How it is possible that you deflected all my arrows with the shock waves from your axe.
Threo: Heh heh, guess we're even then!
Threo: By the way, Tweyen, what made you want to get this strong?
Tweyen: Hmm... Perhaps it's because I wanted comrades... Or rather to protect them.
Tweyen: Either way, nobody wants to be alone.
Threo: I know the feeling! Whenever I'm with (Captain), I think the same thing!
Tweyen: You've really changed. I wonder if (Captain) and the others had a hand in that.
Threo: Changed? What're you talkin' about! I'm me!
Tweyen: Hehe. Never mind.
Tweyen looks over Threo with warm, gentle eyes.

An Axe to Grind... Nine Times: Scene 9

Threo arrives in Stardust Town and immediately finds Feower. Cautious but curious, he asks her what she wants and ends up battling her because he knows she won't take no for an answer.

Threo visits Stardust Town to find Feower and Tien.
Threo: Feower! I've been looking for you!
Feower: Threo? What're you doing he—wait... What's with the dragon?
Threo: I caught it in the forest! Ohh, this is gonna be a juicy one!
Feower: That's not what I'm asking!
Feower: I mean: why'd you bring that dragon here into town?
Threo: I'm here to ask you a favor! The dragon was just a bonus!
Feower: You're here because of me? That's a first. And what might that favor be?
Threo: Feower, why'd you become strong?
Feower: Err...
Feower: I've got to admit, I never thought I'd hear that coming from a bonehead like you.
Feower: (Next thing I know, it'll be raining spears.)
Feower: Why do you ask, by the way?
Threo: I was told that if I wanted to get stronger, I'd have to fight strong people and ask them why they wanted to become strong.
Threo: I'm just doing what I was told!
Threo: So tell me, Feower! Oh, and fight me!
Feower: Tsk, you came to bother me with this?
Feower expresses his discontent, but Threo doesn't show any sign of budging.
Feower: (Hmm, but if I don't fight her, she's just going to stay here until I do. What a pain. Only one thing to do then.)
Feower: Sigh... I understand; I'll answer you. But only if you can beat me.
Feower draws his daggers and eases himself into a battle-ready stance.
Threo: Fine by me! I'm gonna win anyway!
Feower: ...!
Feower: In yer dreams!

An Axe to Grind... Nine Times: Scene 10

Feower reveals that he needs strength because there are those he must protect. Threo says she understands, seeing Feower as akin to a mother protecting its young.

Threo: Another day, another Eternal!
Feower: Dammit! How could I lose to a moron like you!
Threo: Remember whatcha promised! Tell me your reason!
Feower: Tsk... Fine. It's because I had something to protect.
Feower: In order to do that, I needed power. I needed to be strong. So that's what I became.
Feower: Not that a nitwit like you would understand what that feels like.
Threo: I may be stupid, but I can understand that much!
Feower: Wha? How could a dunce like you have any idea how I feel?
Threo: You wanted to protect the herd, right? Just like how a mother protects her young!
Threo: If you think of it that way, it's pretty easy to understand!
Feower: Enough with your jungle analogies!
Feower: Sigh... You got what you came for. Just go home already.
Threo: Man, fighting sure does work up an appetite... Hey, Feower, do you want roast dragon or dragon stew?
Feower: I said go home!

An Axe to Grind... Nine Times: Scene 11

Tien finds Threo roasting a dragon in Stardust Town and asks why she's there. When Threo says she seeks strength to avoid being prey, Tien empathizes and suggests that they battle to see whose resolve is stronger.

With a growling stomach, Threo roasts her freshly caught dragon in the public square of Stardust Town.
Tien: Threo.
Threo: Hey, Tien! Want some dragon?
Tien: No thank you. I heard you fought Feower, by the way.
Threo: Yep, sure did! I won too!
Tien: He said you asked him why he wanted to be strong.
Threo: I don't really know why, but I'm supposed to ask people that right now. It's supposed to make me stronger.
Threo: That's all it is, really!
Tien: I see... And I'm next?
Threo: That's right! Aren't that many other people as strong as me around.
Tien: Yet you still want more power...
Tien: Threo, why do you want to become more powerful?
Threo: Because I don't wanna get eaten. I wanna be on top of the food chain!
Tien: I see... I think in one way or another, everyone has the same reason.
Tien: Very well. I'll fight you.
Tien: Just know that my reason's the same as yours. I don't want those little children to fall prey to anyone. I need to be strong for that.
Tien: Let's see whose conviction is stronger.

An Axe to Grind... Nine Times: Scene 12

Threo defeats Tien and realizes that everyone seeks strength for different reasons. The smell of Threo's burning dragon meat interrupts any further conversation.

Tien: I concede... You win.
Threo: I can see everyone's reasons are different though.
Tien: Of course. Everyone has different needs and different wants.
Threo: Needs? Wants?
Tien: Well—
Tien: Hm? Say, Threo. Do you smell something burning?
Threo: Oh no! It's the dragon! It's still over the fire!
Tien: Try not to burn down my town...

An Axe to Grind... Nine Times: Scene 13

Threo searches for Niyon but runs into Fif instead. They find out that they are both looking for Niyon, and both are on a quest to fight each Eternal. They decide to help each other out.

Threo learns of Niyon's whereabouts from Tien and starts making her way toward her.
Threo: Hmm, maybe this way...
Fif: Threo?
Threo: Fif? What're you doing all the way out here?
Fif: Me? I'm looking for Niyon! How about you?
Threo: What a coinkydink! I'm looking for her too!
Fif: Really? What perfect timing!
Fif: I need to ask you a favor!
Threo: Me? A favor? Like what?
Fif: Help me with my training!
Fif: See, I'm going around training with all the Eternals so I can get better at controlling my magic!
Fif: So I need you to help me!
Threo: Training? How am I supposed to help you with that?
Fif: You just have to fight me!
Threo: Oooh! I can do that! I was actually about to ask you to do the same thing!
Fif: Really? Then it's perfect!
Fif: All right! Let's rumble!

An Axe to Grind... Nine Times: Scene 14

Fif asks what Threo plans to do once she gets stronger, which puzzles Threo, who has always thought of strength only as a survival tool. Fif insists that everyone has an ambition, and Threo ponders this.

Fif: Aww! I lost!
Threo: You weren't easy though! I never knew magic was so powerful!
Fif: It's only that way 'cause it's my magic! Hehe!
Fif: But you were amazing, Threo. It's almost like you were fighting with magic yourself.
Fif: Say, what is your amibition for getting stronger?
Fif: I wanna do lots and lots of fun stuff!
Threo: What do you mean by ambition?
Fif: You know, things you'd like to do after you've gotten stronger!
Threo: Like to do? I just don't wanna get eaten.
Fif: Hm? You're not doing this because there's something you want?
Threo: I don't think about stuff like that.
Fif: That's weird. Everybody wants something!
Threo: Really?
Fif: Yeah! It's like Grampy always says:
Fif: People become strong because they're looking forward to something!
Threo: ...
Fif: Well, see you later! I have to go find Niyon now.
Threo: Oh, s-see ya...
Threo: My... ambition?

An Axe to Grind... Nine Times: Scene 15

Fif's words still in her mind, Threo finds Niyon and chases her down when she runs away. A tussle soon ensues.

Fif's words still echoing in her mind, Threo searches for Niyon.
Threo: Niyon! Found you!
Niyon: Threo?
The moment their eyes meet, Niyon runs away without a word.
Threo: H-hey! Wait!
Bewildered, Threo chases after Niyon.
Niyon: Just give up already. Stop chasing me.
Threo: This feels just like a hunt back in the forest!
Niyon: I'm not an animal.
Threo: Gotcha!
Threo: Grr. I'm gonna get you!
Niyon: Why are you doing this...

An Axe to Grind... Nine Times: Scene 16

After their scuffle Niyon admits that she has never been interested in strength, only in beautiful melodies. Threo asks what her ambition should be, but Niyon replies that only Threo herself can answer that.

Threo: I won!
Niyon: You appear out of nowhere, and the first thing you do is chase me down and attack me. You monster...
Threo: Cause you ran away!
Niyon: You were grinning.
Threo: I felt like I was on the hunt and got caught up in the moment, okay? Why'd you run away in the first place?
Niyon: Because Seofon told me you were coming to fight me.
Niyon: I admire your melody; it's simple and pure. But it's far too loud. That's why—hm?
Niyon: Your melody seems different from usual.
Niyon: Did something happen, Threo?
Threo: Niyon... Why did you want to be strong?
Threo: Is it because you had some kind of ambition?
Niyon: Not quite. I'm not like you or Eahta; I have no interest in strength.
Niyon: I simply want to listen to and make beautiful melodies. Nothing more.
Niyon: In my search for that, I merely became strong along the way.
Threo: I see...
Threo: Niyon. What do you think my ambition is?
Niyon: I wouldn't know. Only you can answer that.
Threo: ...
Niyon: Your melody sounds so complex right now. But I don't think that's a bad thing.

An Axe to Grind... Nine Times: Scene 17

Threo goes to meet Anre, who tells her that she needs to find a goal worthy of pursuit. Threo realizes that her ambition is to protect (Captain), and Anre fights her to test her resolve.

Threo continues on her quest for strength.
After battling the other eight, she finally stands before the final Eternal, Anre.
Anre: Ahh, Threo. I've heard from Seofon that you were coming.
Threo: Anre. Do you have an ambition?
Threo: Did you want to become strong because there was something you wanted to do?
Anre: It seems you've already arrived at the answer.
Anre: Indeed, if true strength is one's goal, simply fighting powerful individuals will accomplish nothing.
Anre: A wish. An aspiration.
Anre: These are the things one must seek to gain strength.
Anre: The fear of being prey is but simple primordial instinct. Such fear makes one no more than a wild beast.
Anre: For as long as you remain nothing more than an animal, the power you seek cannot be obtained.
Anre: If ultimate power is truly what you want, you must stop running from fear and instead find a hope to pursue.
Threo: ...
Anre: Threo, have you found an object worthy of pursuit?
Threo: I... don't know...
Anre: So you've not yet found the answer then... Perhaps I expected too much.
Threo: But I do know one thing. I want to be the strongest there is. I'm sick of losing things and having things taken from me.
Threo: I don't want (Captain) or any of the others to be someone else's prey.
Threo: I want to protect them! I need to be strong enough to do that!
Anre: Well, it looks like you already have your ambition then.
Threo: What? That's good enough?
Anre: To seek strength not just for yourself, but for the protection of others.
Anre: A fine reason. I'd say it's more than enough.
Anre: Well then, let's see if you have the resolve to have that desire come true. I'll test you myself.
Anre: If you lose to me, your aspiration is nothing more than wishful thinking.

An Axe to Grind... Nine Times: Scene 18

Anre determines that with her newfound goal, Threo has truly grown stronger. Threo declares that her final opponent will be none other than (Captain).

Anre: Victory is yours. You've really grown, Threo.
Threo: Really? Yes! I'm stronger!
Anre: That's right. I've never seen you as strong as you are now.
Threo: Hehe! Wow!
Anre: No doubt your goal has made you stronger.
Anre: And what do you plan on doing from here on?
Threo: Fight (Captain)!
Threo: I'm going to beat (Captain) and prove that I'm number one! Once and for all!
Anre: Is that so?
Anre: To think that the only opponent left after defeating the Eternals would be that child...
Anre: And to think how much that child has influenced you.
Anre: How truly remarkable.
Threo has finally discovered that which she had been missing all this while: hope and ambition.
With her newfound goal, she makes her way back to (Captain) and the crew.

Queen of the Jungle

Threo returns to the Grandcypher, where the crew has been worried about Threo's disappearance. She apologizes to the crew and challenges (Captain) to one last showdown.

Threo has fought with each Eternal and discovered that which she lacked.
She now returns to (Captain) and company to achieve her new goal.
Threo: Hey, guys, I'm back!
Lyria: Threo!
Lyria: Where in the skies have you been, Threo? We've been worried sick!
Vyrn: Sigh... You could at least tell us before you disappear like that. And this time you even took the Three-Tiger Axe with you!
Threo: My bad! Forgot to mention it!
Lyria: Seofon told us what happened, so at least we knew you were safe... But we were still awfully worried about you.
Lyria: From now on, make sure you tell us before you go somewhere, okay?
Threo: All right, I got it.
Vyrn: What were you doing out there with the Three-Tiger Axe anyway?
Threo: I was fighting each Eternal to get strong enough to beat (Captain)!
Vyrn: You gotta be kidding me.
Threo: I'm serious!
Threo: So, (Captain), you know what I want. Fight me.
Threo: There's something I've gotta do, and I need to beat you to do it.
  1. I understand.
  2. I'm not going easy on you.

Choose: I understand.
Threo: I'm gonna win this time! You're gonna see just how much stronger I've gotten!

Choose: I'm not going easy on you.
Threo: Wouldn't have it any other way! I won't be going easy on you either!
Threo: Cause you're going down, (Captain)!
Continue 1
Threo: Let's go!

Queen of the Jungle: Scene 2

As a result of losing the battle, Threo vows to set out once again to grow even stronger in order to protect (Captain) and the crew. Lyria and Vyrn try to stop her, but the crew can do little other than exchange wry smiles as they watch warmly over her.

Threo: I lost again! But I'm supposed to be stronger now!
Threo: Guess I'm still no match for you, (Captain)!
Vyrn: But you've really gotten a whole lot stronger since your last fight.
Lyria: You two seemed almost evenly matched. What a nerve-racking fight!
Threo: A loss is a loss. None of that matters if I don't win.
Threo: But... evenly matched, eh?
Threo: Oh well! Guess I'll just fight all the Eternals again and come back when I'm stronger!
Threo picks up the Three-Tiger Axe and starts to walk away.
Lyria: Wha! W-wait!
Threo: No waiting! I've gotta be number one, and I won't have it any other way!
Threo: If I'm not, how am I supposed to protect you guys!
Threo: Ah, but maybe instead of the Eternals, I should take on some primal beasts!
Threo: They're pretty strong, right? Haven't tasted one yet either!
Threo: All right, settled! Primal beasts, here I come!
Lyria: Threo! Stop for a second and listen to us!
Burning with ambition, Threo starts a new journey in search of even greater power.
(Captain) and company exchange wry smiles as they watch her go.

Yearning for Greater Power

(Captain) and crew are taken aback when they run into Threo attacking the Three-Tiger Axe. The Eternal explains that she is trying to wake the weapon up so she can ask it how to become the strongest in the skies. The Three-Tiger Axe suddenly begins to levitate, though it remains silent, prompting Threo to request (Captain)'s help in convincing the axe to speak.

(Captain) and company are snacking in the mess hall on a lazy afternoon.
Lyria: Mm... This cake is so yummy—
Suddenly there's a huge bang that shakes the entire Grandcypher.
Lyria: Eeep! What was that?
Vyrn: I dunno, but it was crazy loud. We mighta hit something.
  1. Come on, let's go have a look.

Choose: Come on, let's go have a look.
(Captain), Lyria, and Vyrn head up to the deck to check on the ship.
They spot Threo aiming her weapon at the Three-Tiger Axe, which is propped up against the ship's railing.
Threo: Try this on for size! Astro Divergence!
Threo unleashes her attack at the axe, causing the ship to creak and moan.
Vyrn: So she's the one responsible for all the shaking!
Lyria: U-um... Threo?
Threo: No dice, huh?
Threo: Then I guess it's come to this! Astro Destruct—
Vyrn: Stop, stop, stop! Quit tryin' to knock us outta the sky!
The three passengers leap onto Threo in a flash, desperately attempting to hold her back.
Threo: Huh? Oh, hey, you guys. What's up?
Vyrn: The Grandcypher's what's up, but not if you keep takin' swings at her!
Threo: I wasn't gunning for the ship though. I was only trying to hit that revvin' it weapon as hard as I could.
Vyrn: You mean Revenant weapon. And why are you doin' that exactly?
Threo: Because it's been sleeping for a while now and won't wake up for some reason.
Threo: I thought a little smack could do the trick.
Vyrn: Uh, it's an axe. They don't wake up 'cause they're not alive to begin with.
Threo: Oh, really? But last time it talked to me and even challenged me to a fight.
Threo: Which I won of course!
Lyria: I-is that so...
Vyrn: I don't think she'd lie about that stuff, but it sounds farfetched... Maybe she's sleepwalking?
(Captain) nods, though not fully convinced.
Threo: Grr, I'm telling ya the truth!
Threo: This revvin' it weapon gave me a buncha tips that helped me get stronger.
This latest revelation piques (Captain)'s interest.
  1. What did it say?

Choose: What did it say?
Threo: Uh, let me think... It was... Oh, yeah!
Threo: It was all like, fight powerful people and ask 'em how they got so strong.
Threo: And this works out great, because I've already asked the other Eternals but not you yet.
Threo: So, (Captain). What's your secret to success?
  1. I want to catch up to my dad.

Choose: I want to catch up to my dad.
Threo: Ooh, I can totally relate to that!
Threo: Considering I've been spending all my time trying to catch up to you, (Captain)!
Vyrn: Well, let's say we buy your story.
Vyrn: Why's it so important to wake up the Three-Tiger Axe?
Threo: Right now my ability is here, but my potential is waaay up here!
Threo: See, I've got a dream, and the only way to make it come true is by being the sky's strongest.
Threo: And the secret to becoming the strongest lies with that axe... What's it called again? Tree-Hugger?
Threo: Yeah! I gotta ask Tree-Hugger!
Vyrn: It's called the Three-Tiger Axe. Geez, you can't even remember its—
Vyrn: Hey!
Threo ignores Vyrn and turns her attention back to the Revenant weapon, raising her own axe high above her head.
Threo: Wakey-wakey, Tree-Hugger! I'm really gonna dish it out this time!
Lyria: Please don't, Threo! You'll sink the Grandcypher!
Three-Tiger Axe: ...
The Three-Tiger Axe suddenly levitates into the air and hurtles toward (Captain) as if to escape from certain destruction.
Vyrn: Whoa... It flew...
Lyria: Y-yeah... All by itself...
Threo: Aha! It's finally up!
Threo: Hey, Tree-Hugger! I wanna get even stronger than I am now!
Threo: C'mon, lay it on me! How do I do that?
Three-Tiger Axe: ...
Threo: How come you're not saying anything? I know you're awake!
Threo badgers the Revenant weapon to get it to open up to her.
But in the end, the axe relinquishes not a single word.
Three-Tiger Axe: ...
Threo: Hm... Why don't you try convincing it to talk, (Captain)!
Threo: This is for the sake of my dream. Being strong means everything to me.
Threo: You gotta do me this favor, (Captain)!
Threo stares at (Captain) with a solemn look on her face and bows her head.
Having rarely seen this side of her before, the captain puts on a meek smile and nods.
Meanwhile a faint glow surrounds the axe as it watches the conversation between Threo and (Captain).

Three-Tiger Axe's Elegy

Threo's insistent methods finally convince the Three-Tiger Axe to talk. Listening to Threo share her desire to protect (Captain) and friends, the Revenant weapon recalls its previous wielder and decides to guide Threo on the path to true strength. It instructs her to deepen her bonds with (Captain) and friends.

The Three-Tiger Axe had once imparted its wisdom to Threo.
Hoping to get a second helping of insight on how to become stronger, Threo offers the axe platters of meat chunks and cake.
Threo: Dig in! All it'll cost ya is some info on how I can power up!
Three-Tiger Axe: ...
Threo: This cake is super sweet without being overwhelming. Trust me—I know my cakes!
Three-Tiger Axe: ...
Threo: Now that I think about it, how does an axe eat anyway? Do you even have a mouth?
Threo: Oh well. Just slice into it, and I'm sure you'll get a taste!
Threo grabs the axe and is about to smash it into the dessert.
Three-Tiger Axe: Sigh... Thou hast not changed one bit.
Threo: Wahoo! Finally got ya to talk!
Threo: Okay, Tree-Hugger, tell me—
Three-Tiger Axe: My name is not Tree-Hugger. It is Three-Tiger Axe.
Threo: Yep, it sure is! So, Tree-Hugger. I've got a question for ya.
Three-Tiger Axe: ...
Threo: I'm still not as badass as I could be.
Threo: But you know how I can get there, right?
Three-Tiger Axe: What spurs your desire for further strength? Why strive to stand above all others?
Threo: I want to protect everyone, including (Captain). Wouldn't wanna see any of 'em get eaten.
Threo: That's why I gotta be able to take down any predator, big or small.
Three-Tiger Axe: It seems thou art driven not by impulse but by purpose. I am amazed at how far thou hast come.
Three-Tiger Axe: Nevertheless I celebrate this unexpected maturation.
Three-Tiger Axe: The fact that thou hast not lost sight of that purpose while seeking strength indicates thou art capable of obtaining absolute power.
Threo: Those are a lot of big words that I don't really understand... Are you gonna help me or not?
Three-Tiger Axe: This is a golden opportunity. Sit still and absorb my personal parable.
Three-Tiger Axe: We Revenants began as ordinary weapons with no will of our own, as one should expect.
Three-Tiger Axe: In the hands of our wielders, we survived the violence of the battlefield, and their volitions imprinted on us over time.
Three-Tiger Axe: And if their aspirations could be passed on, so too could their personalities.
Three-Tiger Axe: As my previous master drew his final breath, the weight of his emotions were etched into me.
Three-Tiger Axe: In time, his memories gave birth to my so-called sentience.
Threo: Uh-huh...
Threo: What was your old master like? Are we kinda similar?
Three-Tiger Axe: Although he served in the military, he was no soldier. His family was a casualty of the War.
Three-Tiger Axe: He showed promise when I was in his hands, thus he was chosen as my new master.
Three-Tiger Axe: In his mind, acquiring limitless power meant he could protect everyone important to him.
Three-Tiger Axe: With that power he could strike down the greedy and the selfish.
Three-Tiger Axe: To war he went with the Sky Realm's enemies, his noble intentions driving him forward.
Threo: Sounds like this guy put a lot of thought into it. I bet he was smarter than me.
Three-Tiger Axe: True enough... Yet the daily horrors of warfare gnawed at his heart.
Three-Tiger Axe: Eventually his mind snapped. His purpose forgotten, he devolved into a single-minded killer of his enemies.
Three-Tiger Axe: But one day he arrived at a critical junction in his life.
Three-Tiger Axe: The events from that day would set in motion the suspension of his dark descent.
Threo: Yawn...
Doting Wife: Why do you keep risking your life like this?
Doting Wife: What is coming back battered and broken supposed to accomplish!
The young woman weeps over a bedridden man covered in injuries.
Young Man: I want to be the strongest...
Doting Wife: And then what? What comes after that?
Young Man: ...
The man lies there, staring up at the ceiling, unwilling to answer.
Doting Wife: Can't think of anything, can you?
Young Man: ...
Doting Wife: Why? Why can't you see how hollow of a pursuit this is?
Doting Wife: I understand the need for people to set goals for themselves. That's what motivates us. Helps us plan for the future.
Doting Wife: But the path you've chosen doesn't lead anywhere.
Doting Wife: Please, darling... Pick another dream.
Doting Wife: If you don't, I'm scared it will destroy you...
Doting Wife: I don't want that to happen to you. So please, do this for me?
Three-Tiger Axe: His wife begged and pleaded through tearful eyes.
Three-Tiger Axe: But he could not accept her appeals.
Three-Tiger Axe: Perhaps the fragments of his original purpose still held sway over his decisions.
Threo: ...
Three-Tiger Axe: A few days after their conversation concluded, their town was beset by a primal beast.
Three-Tiger Axe: We engaged the primal, but my master's body was on the verge of collapse.
Three-Tiger Axe: His life was about to be snuffed out until...
Primal Beast: Groar!
Doting Wife: G-get away from that man!
Young Man: What are you doing here! Run! Go!
Doting Wife: No! I won't leave you behind like this!
Doting Wife: I will always love you, until death do us part.
Doting Wife: I will protect you!
Young Man: ...!
Primal Beast: Groar!
Young Man: My purpose...
Young Man: My reason to fight...
Three-Tiger Axe: The only thought racing through that woman's mind as she stood before a foe she could not hope to defeat was to protect her loved one.
Three-Tiger Axe: This was the sacrifice she made to show him what it means to protect someone.
Three-Tiger Axe: His eyes could not deny what they saw, and the resolve he had lost came flooding back.
Three-Tiger Axe: It was a revelation.
Three-Tiger Axe: The desire for absolute strength is not reason enough to seek its bounty.
Three-Tiger Axe: True strength is born of spirit and willpower.
Three-Tiger Axe: Thus he made a promise.
Three-Tiger Axe: If there ever was a next time, he would pursue true strength without losing sight of his purpose.
Three-Tiger Axe: And become a champion worthy of protecting others.
Three-Tiger Axe: Those were his last thoughts that flowed into my consciousness.
Three-Tiger Axe: Therefore as the torchbearer of my former master's wishes, I am compelled to lead the worthy down the path of strength.
Three-Tiger Axe: Here in the present, the individuals who meet such requisites are (Captain) and thee.
Threo: Snore.
Three-Tiger Axe: Ahem...
Threo: Bwuh? Yawn...
Three-Tiger Axe: How long hast thou been asleep for?
Threo: Uh... I dunno...
Threo: But me and your previous owner have pretty much the same goals, right?
Three-Tiger Axe: ...
Threo: Oops, forget I said that! Okay, this time I'm really gonna pay attention!
Threo: I super promise. If I even start to feel sleepy, I'll pinch my cheeks.
Three-Tiger Axe: A mistake on my part. I must remember to speak plainly for a simpleton such as thou.
Threo: Hey, I kinda sorta get it, okay?
Threo: That guy had people he wanted to protect. Well, so do I.
Threo: I'll never stop trying to keep (Captain) and the others out of harm's way.
Three-Tiger Axe: Bahaha!
Threo: What? Did I say something funny?
Three-Tiger Axe: Thou art naive, though because of that, I am assured of your honesty. Those who possess sincerity merit respect.
Three-Tiger Axe: With the right purpose, thou can travel with (Captain) on the path to true strength.
Three-Tiger Axe: Nay, allow me to be your guide.
Threo: Wow, no foolin'? Great, let's hear it! What do I havta do to get stronger?
Three-Tiger Axe: Deepen your relationship with (Captain) and the others.
Three-Tiger Axe: That is all thou shall need to become stronger.
Threo: Deepen my relationship? So, like, no more duels or something?
Threo seems confused by the axe's advice.
Once more the Three-Tiger Axe goes to great lengths to explain what Threo should do.
She now has the keys to make her dream come true.
The future is uncertain, but she is sure of one thing.
This is the best chance she has at fulfilling her wishes.

Forging a New Link

A few days after her conversation with the Three-Tiger Axe, Threo approaches (Captain) with a request to become family. Though initially confused, (Captain) wholeheartedly accepts after hearing Threo's desire to deepen her bonds with her friends and become powerful enough to protect them. With a stalwart resolve in her heart, Threo eagerly continues her path to true strength.

Several days pass since Threo and the Three-Tiger Axe came to an understanding.
Today Threo is having a routine sparring session with (Captain).
Threo: Eat this!
The Eternal takes a huge swing at the captain.
But (Captain) recognizes the drawback that comes with such a flashy move and knocks the axe out of her hands.
Threo: Ow...
Threo: Damn. I lost again, even though I had you for sure this time...
Lyria: No matter how many times I see you two practice, it always makes me nervous.
Threo: I'm still no match for (Captain), huh... Gotta bust outta this rut and get tougher.
Threo: And there's only one way to do that. Hey, (Captain). Let's you and I start a family together.
Lyria and Vyrn: ...
Lyria: Wh-wh-what!
Lyria: You want to s-start a... Wait, Threo! What are you talking about?
Threo: Is something wrong? If a family's no good, how about a pack! Tree-Hugger said that'd be okay too.
Lyria: Erm... What does this have to do with hugging trees?
Vyrn: I think she's talking about the Three-Tiger Axe.
Threo: Yeah, that's who I meant! Anyway, I need you guys to help me get more powerful.
Threo: The closer you guys are to me, the harder I'll want to fight for you.
Threo: Plus as we grow closer together, my purpose will become clearer too.
Threo: That should put me on the fast track to standing at the top of the food chain! Or something like that!
Vyrn: So you want to build a stronger relationship with us as if we were family.
Lyria: Oh, that's what you meant. I thought you were talking about...
Lyria breathes a deep sigh of relief.
Threo: Besides, I feel a lot more comfortable when you guys are with me.
Threo: I don't wanna lose that or any of the crew. So being a family sounds like a good idea to me.
  1. I agree. Family it is.
  2. Are you a big sis or little sis?

Choose: I agree. Family it is.
Threo: Thanks, (Captain)! Starting from today, we're one big happy family!

Choose: Are you a big sis or little sis?
Threo: Hm? Either works for me.
Threo: Oh, how about this! If I beat you, I get to be Big Sis.

Threo: And if you win, you'll be my big brother.

Threo: And if you win, you'll be my big sister.

Threo: What do you think?
Vyrn: Why am I not surprised she'd use a fight to decide?
Lyria: Ahaha... It's a very Threo-like answer.
Threo: We can figure out all that stuff later. All that matters is we're family now!

Threo: And sticking together is what families do!
Threo flashes a toothy grin.
The others can't help but smile back at the look of pure joy on her face.
Threo: So then (Captain) said it was cool to be a family! I never thought hearing something like that could make me so happy!
Three-Tiger Axe: Well done. But do not rest upon those laurels if thou wishes to make thy dream come true.
Threo: Yeah... I'm like (Captain)'s protector-in-training now.
Threo: (Captain) is at the top of the pack, watching over everyone else.
Threo: That's the kind of person I swore to keep out of danger.
Threo: But surpassing (Captain) is the only way I can do that.
Threo: It's impossible to protect someone if you're weaker than them! That wouldn't make any sense!
Three-Tiger Axe: A fine sentiment, so long as that resolve is not forgotten.
There are important people in Threo's life. People she wishes to protect.
She keeps that feeling close to her heart, vowing once more to become the strongest warrior in the skies.
All for the sake of spending a peaceful future with (Captain) and the crew.
