Notable Rewards
For New Players
- Complete each special quest; each awards Crystal ×50 on first-time completion.
- Collect enough materials to purchase the twenty Half-Elixirs; they provide much more AP than is needed to farm them.
For Advanced Players
- Fimbul is the linchpin of Varuna grids, with most wanting at least two and late-game setups often using three. While an acceptable filler in Leviathan Omega grids, it isn't generally worth the resource investment to farm, especially for new players
- Note that because this event has historically re-run very infrequently2014: December 16 - December 25
2015: December 4 - December 11
2016: August 16 - August 22,
December 8 - December 13
2017: April 16 - April 21,
July 12 - July 17
2018: February 9 - February 14,
December 15 - December 25
2019: July 4 - July 17, it is strongly recommended to farm two 4★ Fimbuls for any player who may wish to build a Varuna grid within the next six months - Demi Varuna is permanently available from What Makes the Sky Blue II: Paradise Lost, in the Side Stories. Acquiring Fimbuls should be a high priority if you are planning to choose said summon
- Note that because this event has historically re-run very infrequently2014: December 16 - December 25
- Gleipnir also requires a primal summon aura for optimal usage, but is usually outclassed by other options due to its small ATK skill and the relative ease with which Water normal grids reach the 50% Normal-skill double-attack cap
- Alternatives include:
- Auberon or Xuanwu Mace Regus: less DA but more damage, which is a free trade if the DA cap will be reached anyway
- Murgleis far more powerful and provides TA as well as DA, but is a limited Premium Gala weapon
- Ultima Weapons are very popular main-hands for Water, and usually provide 20/20% DA/TA passively (to some characters) and 30% DA to everyone upon charge-attack
- Reaching high DA via other popular means such as Elysian or 5★ Feower
- All that said, Gleipnir is still a respectable filler, especially for single-primal setups such as Europa+Varuna, where it may be more difficult to reach the Normal-skill DA cap with only a single primal aura
- Alternatives include:
- Fenrir has both a lackluster aura and call, but consider getting her if you own and use Bonito, as Fenrir is an acceptable Water summon filler due to her base ATK/HP from having a final uncap
- For players interested in all three rewards: many copies of Fenrir and Gleipnir will likely drop while collecting treasure for Fimbuls, so it is not recommended to purchase the former from the shop until the end of the event
Farming Fimbuls
- Assuming a single drop and seven shop purchases, the following event materials are required to fully uncap two Fimbuls:
- Crescent Cuff ×345
- Fenrir Anima ×1,020
- Fenrir Omega Anima ×805
- Winter Night Bell ×1,550
- White Flake ×440
- Most materials should come naturally while farming Crescent Cuff, where players can elect to either:
- Farm NM120 for more cuffs per Nightmare proc to acquire the shop copies more quickly. This is recommended for players who can clear NM120 (or 100) reasonably easily, want to conserve Half Elixirs, and are only seeking two Fimbuls
- Farm NM60 with Treasure Hunt setups such as bringing BountyItem drop rate is boosted
skills, White Rabbit, or Kaguya (Summon), increasing the likelihood of additional Fimbul drops, potentially reducing the number of shop copies which must be purchased. This is recommended for players for whom real-time/resource consumption is not a concern, especially those seeking three Fimbuls. Naturally, one can always switch back to NM120 to focus on the Shop stock once enough drops have been acquired
