Yggdrasil is one of the primal bosses of the Phantagrande Skydom islands. She is first encountered on Lumacie Archipelago. Outside of the Main Quests, she is a raid boss.

Strategy

Yggdrasil Omega's basic attacks are unique in that they are low damage (~650 damage, reduced to ~250 with 50% Attack DOWN and Wind units) but numerous, striking between 4 and 8 times a turn. This usually results in damage being spread evenly. The real threat is in her Charge Attacks: Nether Mantle's Fire damage counteracts any Earth resist, and Axis Mundi inflicts a pair of dangerous status effects. Luminox must be avoided at all costs, as it inflicts so much damage that only a 3★ Zircon Carbuncle or Gawain will save you. The good news is that Yggdrasil Omega can be rushed to Break status very fast with a good enough Wind pool, allowing you to either secure MVP or take a non-OD Charge Attack instead of Luminox. Other than that, Yggdrasil is one of the simpler Omegas to defeat as she has no triggers or enrage.

Strategy

Despite being one of the simpler Impossible fights, this version of Yggdrasil is still dangerous for high-level newcomers:

  • Capping Attack Down and landing a powerful Blind on Yggdrasil herself are important for surviving, as her normal attack is very strong. Bringing a friend's 4★ Tiamat Omega is also an option.
  • While technically not required to win, having both the circle and Yggdrasil hit the same target can quickly become lethal and a 5-turn skill seal is annoying so knock out the circle ASAP.
  • Watch Ygg's buffs and what debuffs you get very carefully: If you get hit with DEF DownDEF is lowered
     or Earth DEF DownDEF is lowered for earth DMG
     while she has ATK UpATK is boosted
     and an attack gets through it can easily deal over 5000 damage minimum, and if nobody has multiattack debuffs she may swing twice.
  • If you wish to fight this boss solo, consider Rose Crystal Axe to reduce Nether Veil damage.
