Sub Ally Support Skills

About

Some characters have support skills that are active even when they are set as a sub ally, also known as the backline or back row.

• Some of these support skills only work from the backline, while others work in both the frontline and backline.
  • If the skill says "Takes effect even when (character) is a sub ally" then it works both as a main ally and as a sub ally.
    • However, not all skills specify this in game.
  • If the skill says "When Sub Ally:" then it only works as a sub ally.
• If you have two backline characters with a similiar support skill category(Extra Damage, Grant Buffs/Crests) Only the Character in the 5th slot will activate their effect.
  • For example,  Bullet BurstWhen Sub Ally: 300% bonus Light damage to a foe upon the chain burst Ascension (Damage cap: ~580,000). and  Fastest Draw In the SkiesWhen Sub Ally: Light damage to a foe upon Light chain burst activation.
    (Boost to damage specs based on number of chains.), only Bullet Burst activates
  • Another example,  Lord of Frost AgleamUpon chain burst activation: All allies gain Aurora CrestLight magic is amplified (Max: 5 / Can't be removed)
    Duration: Indefinite.
    (Takes effect even when Aglovale is a sub ally.) and  Heartful SoulUpon the chain burst Ascension:

    (Takes effect even when Ladiva is a sub ally.), only Lord of Frost Agleam activates
• Support skills from allies that boost ATK affect the Main Character's estimated damage even when that ally is placed in a sub ally slot. These support skills do not work from the backline in actual battle.
  • This includes characters such as (but not limited to) Yaia, Anila, and Lilele.
• A number of these support skills involve Crest-based mechanics.
  • Although the character in question would have to be in the front line to provide the crests in the first place, this characteristic can be utilized with any other source of the appropriate crest in the party setup even if they stay in the back row the whole time.
• The Arcarum Evokers notably all have sub ally support skills, in addition to a support skill that activates when they are switched out from the backline to the frontline.

Similarly related, there are also characters who have main ally support skills that activate when another specific character is an ally, whether they are a main ally or sub ally.
