Auxiliary Weapon

Auxiliary weaponsA class specialty weapon of the same element as the main weapon, equipped in the top-left slot of the sub weapon section are a mechanic unique to Gladiator, Chrysaor, Viking and Iatromantis where the top-left slot of the sub weapon section gains a different border than usual and defines how related passive and active skills will behave.

The weapon must match the weapon specialty of the current class, as well as the main weapon's element to qualify as an auxiliary weapon.

Auxiliary weapons are displayed in battle along with the mainhand, but do not qualify as a mainhand for weapon skill requirements.

The following skills require an auxiliary weapon to activate:

work best with a mixed pair of weapons. If the main weapon is a sword, the auxilary weapon should be an axe, and vice versa.

Unlike the other classes that use this mechanic, Vikings cannot make use of the auxiliary weapons Charge attack effect, nor do any of their active or support skills inherently require an Auxiliary Weapon. The only actual purpose of the slot is to qualify for the additional effects of both weapon types, rather than having to pick one, akin to how classes like Class 190301 sp icon.pngApsaras have different effects depending on their weapon of choice.

Jomsborg

  • Extends all buffs with an original duration of 1.5 turns or higher.
  • Grants two of the following buffs to all allies:

Notable Main Weapons

As Viking's normal attack damage is supplemented (as well as each attack being two damage instances), any main weapon that can grant Bonus Damage to the MC will create many more damage instances and significantly improve damage.

Weapons that provide Supplemental Damage will also be useful as Viking naturally does twice as many damage instances on normal attacks as other classes, even without bonus damage.

  • Class Champion Weapon
    • Being the Row V successor to Class 100301 sw square.jpg Berserker, Viking is able to wield Weapon s 1040308400 note.jpg Berserker's Barrage.
    • However, they are unable to benefit from the base skill, Barbarian's Nature, as they cannot use Full Arsenal III. Due to this, other swords or axes are likelier to be a better choice for main weapon than Weapon s 1040308400 note.jpg Berserker's Barrage
  • Guaranteed Triggers - some weapons that trigger an effect on multiattacks will always trigger due to Viking's guaranteed double attacks.
