Assessment
Strong hybrid class that can fit well into most teams.
Woodcutter's Song provides a large amount of damage, buffs, debuffs, and heals, and can usually cap Attack/Defense down when combined with Miserable Mist. Due to its trigger condition from skills being used, it may take a bit more planning on when to use other skills in longer battles. Characters with long skill cooldowns or highly situational skills are also less desirable, as the skill works best combined with frequent skill users
All 3 EMP skills have uses, though Leaf Burning tends to be the most generally valuable as long as the Shield can be maintained for a couple of turns. Characters with skills to draw attacks away from the MC may be crucial to the skill in some encounters.
It does take some time to ramp up and the additional animations for Woodcutter's Song take time, so it may not be the best in short battles and time-efficient Full Auto strategies.
Both of the class weapons speed up the ramp up of one of the two other EMP skills and generally specialize the class towards a more supportive role ( Rip Van Winkle) or more of a selfish damage dealer (
Tall-Tale Teller).
Between the Level 20 support skill and Woodcutter's Song providing a bonus effect from Charge Attacks, Lumberjack also synergizes well with team setups oriented around CA attacks combined with Stamina boosts.
Notable Main Weapons
Lumberjack can work with any axe or harp, though to take advantage of the StrengthATK is greatly boosted based on how high HP is
buff a weapon that heals the MC can be useful. DATA buff effects can also be quite valuable for a support-oriented approach, as Lumberjack is particularly lacking on that front compared to other support classes with shared weapon proficiencies.
- Lumberjack's Class Champion Weapons each cause a select skill to gain effects from its second activation the first time its activated, and effects from its third activation the second time its activated. The charge attack applies buffs to the MC to boost the selected skill. Both are useful weapons, but not necessary to play the class.
