Sadistic Aims
Secret Gear
The Assassin and Tormentor classes revolve around using Secret Gears, disposable items that grant powerful effects. Each gear requires materials to craft, can only be used a certain number of times per battle, and are used up for their effects in battle.
If you are currently an Assassin or Tormentor, from the Party menu, there is a Secret Gear button in the top left. Otherwise, from Party > Classes, click on the Secret Gear button on the right side of the Selectively Skilled skill to open the Secret Gear menu. Here you can equip secret gears or trade for new ones.
Secret Gear will not be consumed during Trial Battles.

Powerful but impractical for most players, Tormentor can access the major utilities of almost every other class on a mere 1T cooldown via Secret Gears. Because Secret Gears are consumed on use, however, there is a material cost to using the class which can quickly become prohibitive when using the strongest Secret Gears.
As a result, Tormentor is generally the lowest priority class to unlock, and even once unlocked (for its Mastery Bonus), it is best reserved for special challenges that cannot be completed otherwise. Access to Phalanx, Delay, Dispel, Mirror Image, etc. every turn can often compensate for a limited character or summon roster, for example.
