Hostility is the game mechanic which determines the probability that any given character in your party is targeted by an enemy. Every character has the same base chance to get attacked, but this can be modified by character abilities that grant
Status AggroUpArrow.pngHostility UpMore likely to be attacked
or
Status AggroDownArrow.pngHostility DownLess likely to be attacked
. It can also be affected by support abilities, character EMP, and weapon skills.


Hostility Formula[edit]

Every character has a base hostility score of 10. A character's chance to get hit is their hostility score over the party's sum total hostility score. Therefore, the base chance that any given character is targeted is:[1]

10/(10 + 10 + 10 + 10) * 100% = 25%

Hostility modifiers act upon each character's hostility score. Consider the scenario where one character has their hostility score boosted by 10. The chance that this character will be targeted is:

(10+10)/(10 + 10 + 10 + (10 + 10)) * 100% = 40%

When all characters have a hostility value of 0, all foes will target the first character in the party.
