Damage Cut is a term that refers to any effect that reduces damage by a fixed percentage.

About Damage Cut
Damage cuts are calculated separately from other damage reduction effects, such as DEF. Notably, damage cuts of different types and sources are additive, meaning you can achieve a 100% damage cut and reduce elemental damage received to zero. This is extremely important in many raids, such as Proto Bahamut and Grand Order, where certain triggered attacks can deal damage in the millions.
Damage cuts do not work on Plain Damage.
Damage Cut Stacking
There are several different types of damage cuts: All-elemental damage cuts, elemental damage cuts, and Repel. Damage cuts of different types will stack with each other.
Damage cuts of the same type but from different sources (such as a character skill, weapon charge attack, and a summon call) will also stack with each other. For the most part, damage cuts of the same type and source will not stack, but there are characters who are an exception to that rule; see the All-Element Damage Cut section for details.
Note that when combo calling with another player's damage cut summon, a comboed 0★-3★ summon will always grant the 0★ effects, even if its damage cut is upgraded at 3★. Comboing with a 4★ summon will usually grant the 4★ effects.

50% DMG CutTaking 50% less DMG
Duration: 1 turn Damage Cut reducing damage taken for all elements.
Warning! Does not work for Plain Damage!. and certain sword mastery effects, affect all parties in a raid. If another player uses such a skill and then you use a weaker skill-based damage cut on the same turn, your damage cut will have no effect.
Elemental DMG Lowered effects also exist, but stack multiplicatively with damage cuts rather than additively.

All-elemental damage cut reduces any elemental damage taken. Most buffs of this type last 1 turn, regardless of source.

Taking less DMG and reflects attacks
Repel not only reduces damage taken, but also reflects the amount of damage prevented back to the enemy (up to 99,999).
